Similarities Between Science And Humanities
Science is a the study of the physical science and natural world through observation and experiment
within a logical system. It explains why we see what we see. In contrast, humanities focus on more
conceptual perspective, including arts, literature, philosophy and ethics. Most people may see these
two as incompatible disciplines. But in fact, they are rather complementary to each other. With the
power of written language, humans have been able to document all the finite details of the world
around us from the description of a species to an extent of the history of a tribal. With that be in said,
by using metaphor to describe what has been documented does not only help put things into
perspective so that it is easier for humans to comprehend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem documented the Central Valley landscape during 1993. With this given context, readers can
conclude that there is a change in landscape and species over time. However, the significance of this is
the importance of documentation in regarding to our place in history and for the scientific
documentaries. In Professor Tom Hothem s lecture, Some Snapshots from the literature of California .
He emphasized that, each and every story is important because it doesn t only capture the exact
moment on how the writer feel, but also the landscape at that point in time. For instance, about 500
years ago, in San Francisco, California there were no trees and was a flatland like Merced, California.
However, in the 80s, people planted trees around that area and it became what we see today. If no one
had recorded this tiny piece of information, people nowadays would have thought San Francisco was a
place that is full of trees originally. Thus, by examining this example, Professor Hothem tried to stress
the significance of documentation of the landscape. Information such that is an essential to the
scientific entries because it helps scientists to understand the change in surrounding over a period of
time and by documenting, scientists can ensure and utilize the information to predict and prevent a
change in the

Darwin s Theory Of Biological Evolution
Evolution refers to the processes that have transformed life on Earth from its earliest forms to the vast
diversity that characterizes it today (Campbell, 1993). However, a lot of things can change over a
period of time. The Father of Evolution who is known as Charles Darwin, developed the theory of
biological evolution. This theory has long been debated during and after darwin s time. Biological
evolution can be seen through a momentous change in organisms by changing of the genetic
composition. Darwin s theory did not only create a topic of controversy, but it was able to create a way
of understanding life through biological evolution.
The traditional Judeo Christian version of Creationism was strongly reinforced by James ... Show

It had a beginning, but it has no ending. Creation is always busy making new scenes, new things and
new Worlds (Weiner 3). In the bible it states that all living things were created at the hands of God. No
one has ever desired to challenge the Catholic Church of this belief. Until a man by the name of
Charles Darwin discovered the wonders on Daphne Major. After his survey of the island, he concluded
that there was something about the finches beaks that made them unique to each of the islands.
Making meticulous observations of the beaks he saw that each finch had a specific set of beaks. This
allowed them to adapt to a specific niche in their environment. What is more. the tame little birds that
Darwin had found hopping around beneath the bushes were unique too. They were not relatives of
blackbirds, walders, wrens, and finches, as Darwin had thought when he bagged them (Weiner 28).
Darwin speculated about how natural selection is one of the main concepts for biological evolution.
Natural selection consisted of descent with modification, known as a gradual process over time,
heritable biological traits become either more or less common in a population. When the next
generation of that species gains that dominant trait in the population, this is known as descent with
modification. Observing descent with modification is still prominent during that time period.
According to the Variation Lab, natural selection was the driving mechanism for biological evolution.

The Current Year 2017, Marks The 20Th Anniversary Of The
The current year 2017, marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of Netflix. In today s society,
Netflix and Chill is an actual term used by Millennials, young adults, and adolescents. Netflix
accounts are shared like candy, and a break up results in your ex continuing to use your Netflix
account. It is hard to imagine a time when this was not the norm, when Netflix did not exist. In order
to live the Netflix obsessed lives society does, what had to happen? What is the history of Netflix?
The Founding of Netflix In 1997, Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph co founded Netflix. The duo

both lived in Santa Cruz, and were in the same little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea was ruled out because of logistical challenges (Xavier) with VHS tapes. However, around
this time DVD s were up and coming, allowing for the resurrection of this otherwise buried idea. In
order to see if shipping would be a problem, Hastings and Randolph mailed a CD to Reed s house
(Xavier). This is one of the founding myth stories that is actually very true (Xavier). When the CD
arrived at Hastings house undamaged the two realized that they may just be on to something.
Following their epiphany was a period of working through the details (Xavier), where Randolph
mainly, worked through things such as cost and how the company would work. Eventually there was
nothing else that could be researched or worked out and the pair had to jump (Xavier) into their new
business. Once the company began, Randolph ran the company as CEO and Hastings funded it and
contributed when he could.
The Growth of Netflix Today only Hastings remains with Netflix, while Randolph left the company
back in 2002, and the company s board of directors in 2004. Leadership is not the only change Netflix
has seen. The Netflix known today bears almost a zero resemblance (Xavier) to the original concept
Hastings and Randolph envisioned for Netflix. The original concept was to provide a movie rental
service without due dates and late fees. However, logistics did not favor this vision, and instead

Why Is Soccer Important
Soccer is a type of game that uses a lot of energy and techniques. It is played and enjoyed on the
poorest playground. People watch and play soccer daily for leisure and for some, it is a profession. It
is a universal game that is being played and enjoyed all over the world. It would be unfair to say that
soccer is only important because of the pleasure derived from playing and watching the game. That
would be incorrect because soccer is the most famous sport due to its exceptional enhancement and
maintenance of quality health, the impressive social bonding which occurs during play and how it
builds up communities.
Of course, soccer is a game played in mud, grass or a flat field. Soccer can also be watched on TV,
play a video game and as a table top game called foosball . Most countries call it football because it is
played by foot. America is the only exception to this because they call it soccer. Two teams with
eleven players play the game for 90 minutes long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Playing soccer will lead to major achievements in people s lives because of teamwork. In soccer a
player may be homeless yet he finds a family in his team (Dertarczynski,2009). The truth is that there
is a great deal of collaboration in soccer which creates a family for the player. Every player has a role
to perform when playing and they all work hand in hand towards the same goal as a team. In this
situation, players learn how to relate to each other, thereby motivating each other to be better player.
Teammates learn how to trust each other to build important goals as a team. As a matter of fact,
teamwork in soccer will increase people s efficiency both at work and in school. People will learn how
to accept their friends or co worker s weakness and try to help them to succeed in their various tasks.
This will reduce people s weakness s and help them form better problem solving skills towards

Analysis Of The Book Four Kinds Of Chance By James H....
The Chance to have good or bad Luck. There are times in life that we attribute good luck to our hard
work, dedication or talent but there are some other times when we can say that luck is just a chance
that we get. As we can see on the work of this two authors James H. Austin the author of Four kinds of
chance published in Saturday Review and Robert H. Frank author of why luck matters much more
than you think published in The Atlantic (May 2016) they show the reader how chances can influence
in different ways. After reading their work I consider Robert H Frank article more effectively fulfills
his thesis.
Austin article was more dedicated to the general public, students, adults, people who not necessarily
needs to have education. In his article he uses a vocabulary that most of the people could understand
also he gave us definitions in some of the words like for instance the phrase like a mirage (p.11) he
explained with a lot of details what mirage was, by doing this we as a reader can have more
knowledge of why he is using that word as an example. He informed us since the begging that he was
going to talk about four varieties of chance and the best way to start with the definition of chance. As
we continue reading he guides us by referring to the chances as Chance I, Chance II, Chance III and
concluding with Chance IV where we realize that he express more and have a detail example on how
chance IV works. If we move to the examples we can perceive that he is showing

Germline Modifications
ABSTRACT
This report investigates the current state of DNA Modification or in other words human germline
modification. With a highly concise of human germline modification is initially outlined. The study
then focuses on the development of DNA modifications in human and also the implementation of this
method in humans such as physical modification, immunity modification, and intelligence. This study
will also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each modification.

The Two Component Stressors
Introduction
Bacteria are prone to various stressors so they need to sense and respond to these fluctuating
conditions in order to survive. Two component plays an important role in the bacterial kingdom to
sense and adapt themselves to these varieties of stressors, for example oxidative stress, protein
misfolding, nutrient starvation and many more. It is first described by Ninfa and Magasanik (1986) in
the study of nitrogen starvation in Escherichia coli. Two component system consists of a sensor
histidine kinase and its cognate response regulator (Koretke,K.K. 2000). Sensor histidine kinase is
bifunctional which means it can function as both kinase and phosphatase. It autophosphorylates itself
upon sensing a signal, whereby the phosphoryl group from ATP molecule is transferred to a specific
histine residue on the histidine kinase. It then acts as phosphodonor substrate for its cognate response
regulator. The cognate response regulators is acting as phosphatase to the histidine kinase as it
catalyses the transfer of the phosphoryl group from histidine kinase to its conserved aspartic acid
residue. Once phosphorylated, response regulator undergoes conformational change which activates
the output domain leading to either stimulation or repression of the targeted genes. As mentioned
earlier on, histidine kinase protein also acts as phosphatase for its cognate response regulator if it is
not stimulated to autophosphorylate.
This system has vast variations and the common

Tert-Butyl Chloride Lab Report
The aim of this experiment was to perform a reaction via a Sn1 reaction to prepare tert Butyl chloride
and test the effectiveness of the reaction by examining the reactivity of the product. To prepare tert
Butylchloride from tert Butylalcohol, one must cause a Sn1 reaction to occur. An Sn1 reaction is a
monomolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction, meaning that one molecule is involved in each step
of the Sn1 reaction. First, the leaving group leaves. After the leaving group leaves, the nucleophile has
enough room to form a bond with the carbocation. As a result, the leaving group is replaced by the
nucleophile (Michman 2016). In our reaction, the nucleophile is chlorine and the leaving group is
water, which forms after the protonation of hydroxide to form a better leaving ... Show more content

On the other hand, Sn2 reactions are dimolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction; thus, all steps of
the reaction occur simultaneously. Rather than the leaving group leaving and then the nucleophile
attacking, the leaving group begins to break its bond with carbon as the nucleophile begins to form a
bond with the carbon. Sn2 reactions result in an inversion of stereochemistry because the nucleophile
must form its bond with carbon behind the leaving group, since the leaving group is still partially
attacked (Michman 2016). To synthesize tert Butylchloride we must use an Sn1 reaction pathway
because Sn1 reaction are more stable modes of substitution in tertiary and secondary alkyl halides and
alcohols (Michman 2016). Sn2 reactions are more effective for primary alkyl halides and alcohols.
This is again because tertiary alkyl halide, like tert Butylalcohol, are very large the leaving group must
leave first to make room for nucleophile. Still, there are some complications that come into play when
conducting an Sn1

1984 Manipulation Of Love Essay
Edmund Burke once said, No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and
reasoning as hate. In other words, when one becomes enveloped in the emotion of hate, similarly to
that of love, it can alter one s thought and ability to make decisions. Love and hate are the two most
powerful emotions and are seen at the core of humanity; however, it is ironic that such strong
emotions can be so easily manipulated. George Orwell considers this idea in his novel 1984 and
reveals the relationship between love and hate in a dystopian society. Throughout the novel, it is clear
to see how one is able to gain love and power based on the manipulation of hate and fear; this can be
seen through the analysis of the Party s views of Emmanuel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For instance, right before Winston is sent to Room 101, O Brian tells him: Never again will you be
capable of love, or friendship, or joy of living, or laughter, or curiosity, or courage, or integrity. You
will be hollow. We shall squeeze you empty, and then we shall fill you with ourselves (211). Here,
Winston is facing the consequences of his hatred for Big Brother. Ironically, the Party intends to
torture Winston until he feels nothing but love for big brother. Furthermore, just after Winston hears
that Oceania has won the war against Eurasia, he gazes up at the enormous face of Big Brother and
realizes: Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark

was alright, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother

brain, leaving nothing but sorrow and repent for what he had done. The only love he feels is that
towards Big Brother. Thus, giving the Party the satisfaction of power through the dictation of love and

The Death Of Their Cultures
Amelia D. Marquez Professor Silbernagel NASX 205 2 May 2017 The Death of their Cultures
Americans often picture their historic relationship with the Native Americans as one that involved a
feast on what is known as the first Thanksgiving. Most history books forget to mention the moments
where Native Americans had to fight for their land, rights, and lives. Throughout history, many scenes
are filled with European settlers and early Americans annihilating entire tribes of Natives. Later,
Americans filled their heads with greed and would shed blood from tribe to tribe just to fill their
pockets with gold. For the tribes that were left by the late 1800s, Americans felt the need to force the

Everything they had come to know in the first five years of their lives were trampled on. To add insult
to injury, the first efforts of assimilation through boarding schools was headed by Captain Richard
Henry Pratt in 1879 (Marr, n.d.). Pratt is known for saying, kill the Indian and save the man and
believing that Native Americans were inferior to white people (Marr, n.d.). Pratt believed that the only
way to add Natives to the American melting pot was by transforming them through education. The
schedule set for the students was harsh and rough. At Cushman Indian School in Tacoma, Washington,
the students were expected to wake up at 5:45 A.M., perform industrial work at 8:00 A.M., classes
from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M., continue drills all afternoon, and end their day at 8:45 P.M. Another harsh
reality of the schedule is that the school time hardly focused on subjects like math or science. They
were often filled with rigorous English courses where students were punished for talking in their
native language (Marr, n.d.). If the abuse and malnourishment did not cause a child to run away or
sometimes even commit suicide, then the disease would catch many Native students. Tuberculosis,
trachoma, measles, and small pox would often infect the students at the boarding schools. In one
scenario, it is documented that In December of 1899, measles broke out at the Phoenix Indian School,
reaching epidemic proportions by January. In its

To Shoot Hard Labour 2 Summary
The story To Shoot Hard Labor 2 is the continuation of the first book To Shoot Hard Labor which
recounts the life and times of Samuel Papa Sammy Smith, a hard working Antiguan man who lived
from 1877 1982. The book was written by Keithlyn and Fernando Smith continuing with their journey
portraying the story of life in the plantation in Antigua not long after slavery. The story tells how the
ex slaves defended themselves with pride and their symbol of freedom. How the planters finally
accomplished in erasing, nearly without a trace, the symbol of the free people, and how they were
forced to go back to the plantation. The new To Shoot Hard Labour 2 gives more detail of lives of
black people in western world and Caribbean as a whole. This new book likewise brings a clearer
understanding of the everyday life of our people as they endeavor to defeat colonialism, slavery and
other contemporary issues. The book also expresses about the sort of society that established, and the

(Middleton Kelly, 1996). One of the biggest issues stems from a lack of facilitation on the larger social
issues involved with community service. When there is a proper forum to discuss the experiences they
receive while volunteering, students are given a chance to understand how policies and civic
involvement play a direct role in the lives of people in their communities. (Lakin Mahoney, 2006).
Another issue is content involved in the community service activities. If teenagers are thrust into a
volunteer situation they don t understand or feel that they are simply being assigned made up work, it
can actually have a detrimental effect (Tugend, 2010). One way to make the most of volunteer
opportunities is to specifically design the content around areas of student development. By focusing
on key content areas, students learn how to use their current skill set to navigate new experiences and
difficult situations. (Lakin Mahoney, 2006). A well organized and thoughtful volunteer opportunity
has proven time and time again to be a positive experience for youth. There are many studies that
discuss the character building benefits of service learning. Students who participate have higher
academic achievements, develop critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, planning and
organizing skills and expand their social circles. A student who volunteers is more likely to volunteer
and vote as adult. (Latham, 2003).

Ethical Dilemmas Of An Ethical Dilemma
An ethical dilemma is a situation in which an individual is compelled to choose between two actions
that will affect the welfare of a sentient being, and both actions are reasonably justified as being
good... (Butts Rich, 2016, p. 55). In everyday nursing practice, many nurses are faced with various
ethical dilemmas that occur between patients, their family, and healthcare professionals. Many
healthcare professionals work on common goals to provide patients with the safest and highest quality
care. However, some doctors poor or bad orders lead nurses into ethical dilemmas that are not
evidence based practice or are not consistent with the nursing standards of practice. Following the
doctor s order can risk patients safety, which also violates ethical principles such as beneficence and
nonmaleficence. However, in a clinical environment, nurses practices are deeply intertwined with
doctors practices in the delivery of health care, which requires collaboration in each profession. As a
registered nurse, when faced with this situation, I experienced an ethical conflict of what to put first:
patient safety or friendly relationships with doctors. The purpose of this paper is to identify ethical
dilemmas that can arise between a nurse and a doctor due to a doctor s poor practices that threaten
patients well being and safety. This paper also deals with how to solve this conflict with respect for
each other s professions. Toren and Wagner (2010) suggest that nurses

understanding helps create future curriculum by seeing what the children did and said during their

2. I feel as if this documentation portrays a strong image of the child as it includes pictures and

perspectives, which allows one to see how the child is taking the pictures. The dialogue helps us
understand what and why he was taking a picture at that angle or a certain part of the columns.

Theme Of Love In Romeo And Juliet
William Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet tells the story of two kids Romeo and Juliet who come
from two households locked in an age old feud. Even though the two families have hate for each other
Romeo and Juliet find love even many obstacles affect them. Certain characters through the story
represented different themes. Tybalt represents hate and anger in the play. The theme of love is
represented by Juliet and the theme loyalty is represented by Benvolio with his loyalty to Romeo.
Juliet s cousin Tybalt has hate in him throughout the entire play, he will draw and kill anyone who he
has conflict with. He hates almost everyone who is not part of his family and he especially hates all
montagues. During Capulet s masquerade party Tybalt spots Romeo and wants him out of there. He
even goes as far as saying, I will withdraw, but this intrusion shall, Now seeming sweet, convert to bitt
rest gall. ( This shows the hate and rage inside of him he will cause harm to Romeo even though he
has not disturbed anyone. After this event Tybalt with his hate for anyone but capulets gets into a
battle with Mercutio where he slays him. Tybalt who still has anger and hate is not satisfied with the
blood that has been shed so he get into a battle with Romeo, this leads to Romeo killing Tybalt and his
later banishment from Verona. The hatred Tybalt had caused a huge obstacle for Romeo and Juliet s
future, this is because he caused Romeo to be exiled and labeled a villain for avenging Mercutio s
death. Lord capulet s daughter Juliet represents love, she showed love for Romeo throughout the play
even though she was to hate the Montagues and anyone close to them. At the Capulet party the two
kids Romeo and Juliet fall in love, they don t care that there is a feud older than them and they find
love at first sight. The two are so in love that they agree to marry each other the next morning without
each other s families knowing. Juliet says, If that thy bent of love be honorable, Thy purpose marriage
send me word tomorrow, By one that i ll procure to come to thee. (2.2.150 153) After Friar Lawrence
marries the two Romeo gets into trouble with Tybalt which ends with Tybalt, Juliet s cousin slain and

There are Canadian citizens who thought that the Canadian government we have is perfect, citizens
who believed that every aspect of the government was truly democratic, and citizens who believe that

system of government, large aspects within are far from democratic and need to be changed. Liberal

other hand the more conservative thinkers will argue that no change is needed because our

It was obvious that he would make votes in favour of Chretien s aims. However, even with his
appointed position he only very rarely showed up for work, ignoring his basic obligations as Senator.
Even when the whole of the government was in outrage at this incompetence, they could not legally
kick him out of office. There will inevitably be more incidents like these unless the Senate is
reformed. Thankfully, there are several possible ways to reform the Senate as to make it a more
democratic institute.
The Senate, undemocratic as it is, obviously needs some tweaks and changes in the system to make it
more so. The Canadian Senate should reform entirely into a triple E Senate (Elected, Efficient, Equal).
In the Triple E Senate, Senators should be elected by the voters instead of appointed, the efficient
distribution of power towards the Senate to balance out the power. This would create a more
democratic and fairer Senate that would better serve the needs of the citizens it represents. While the
Triple E Senate may not get things done nearly as quickly as the current Senate, it would at least make
the right decisions for everyone. While the Senate is a major blight upon Canadian government, it is
not the only one.

will of the people and attempts to maintain this image, yet the truth is that the power stays

Getting hurt at work is not a joke therefore, should not be taking lightly. Statistics have shown that
over 200 people a year lose their lives at work in Britain and around 150,000 non fatal injuries are

some employees shed light on the issue for the foreman, but he choose not to respond to their claim.
They should have reported the problem to the store manager, yet there was never an attempt towards

the manager s only intention was to protect the company (the equipment was safe because the foreman

The Run By Wanda Coleman Analysis
To begin, Wanda Coleman shows us when a young boy s mom calls him hard to look at. We hear this
through dialogue between his mother and aunt. While the main character, Buzz, and his cousin were in
California, they were playing a game and overheard some disturbing words by Buzz s mother. Buzz
previously had great respect for his mother and was a happy, fun kid. A turn of events changed his
point of view and made him see his mother in a mean, cold view. We start to see some prejudice when
Buzz s mom said He s my favorite of the boys. He s so light skinned and look at that good straight
hair. But as the conversation is progressing, so is the hurtfulness of his mother s words. The final
breaking point for Buzz is when his mom says I m so glad this baby didn t turn out black and ugly like
Buzz As we could see through the dialogue, Buzz faced prejudice from no one but his own mother. We
can infer from BUzz s later actions of personality change and crying in the bathroom. We can see how
close prejudice can hit home, and even be at home. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Psychological Factors That Affect Teenagers
Lydia Nix Psychological Factors that Affect Teenagers South University Online Psychological Factors
that Affect Teenagers There are several different factors which a teenager has to go through especially
in the urban area schools. The school as well as society needs to see what these children must go
through in order to help them. This will require patience along with understanding to help the child as
well as long term planning of attitudinal changes. The government needs to face the fact that they need
to help with campaigns such as anti spoking as well as anti drugs (Repke, 2015). These measures need
to be strictly enforced to make sure everyone in the community can see the need for the changes. The
community needs to have programs which are designed to help with child development, job training,
food and transportation as well as parent training. There are even possibilities which will incorporate
both behavioral as well as psychodynamic components. There is no way to make sure all teenagers
who are at risk receive psychotherapeutic intervention. The efforts need to make sure they are also
hitting the subject of safe sex and set up programs for the children to go to the health clinics if they
need to. The community and society needs to show the adverse reactions with children not being in
school (Jensen, 2015). Scientific Method Purpose: To see how teenagers in impoverished urban areas

Quality Sunglasses for Kids
Wearing glasses can be the ultimate fashion accessory when you choose the right pair to suit you and
the kind of clothes you wear most. Children may not be as interested as adults are in the fashion aspect
of sunglasses. But because kids spend much more time outdoors than most adults one of the most
important factors when to choosing sunglasses is protection. Being assured that one s eyes are

linked to many different types of eye disease, so they should be avoided at all costs through the use of
high quality kids sunglasses.
What s the perfect Sunglass Lens Color
It s always better to consult an optician, but as long as your optician certifies that the lenses block 100
percent of the sun s UV rays. The level of UV protection sunglasses provide has nothing to do with the
color of the lenses, but polar optic sunglasses are now popular nowadays, because it actually provides
a filtering system for glare. Any light reflecting off of a flat surface, such as a lake, creates an intense
glare produced by horizontal light wave patterns. These horizontal waves are blocked by polarized

The Problems Of Urban Rot
For many years, Detroit has been described as the Come Back City . A presumption will be made that
the significant reasons for urban rot are, among potential others are evolving demographics,
deindustrialization, political disappointment, poor urban arranging, and racial separation. Detroit can
still be viewed as a beautiful city full of culture and art, both in its stately decay and in its growing
natural abundance. Indeed, Detroit remains to be one of the finest sights to be seen with a little
investing from the people. Chartier (2005) of Cambridge University make a valid point by stating
people will not invest the requisite level of care into their resources if they believe their investments
will be lost . (p 374).

Around 1910 and 1980 Detroit s African American populace expanded in excess of 100 times. Ryan
(2008) a faculty member of Harvard University reports that The City of Detroit, Michigan was a
natural subject for the study. Like many other cities in the American Midwest and West, Detroit grew
rapidly, expanding from a population of essentially in 1850 to over 1,800,000 by 1950 . (p 2) The
breakdown of the Big Three automakers has quickened Detroit s decay, and occupants have been
consistently escaping since the 1950s. In that time, the populace has dwindled from around 2 million
to somewhat more than 700,000 individuals; aside from that, there are more than 70,000 deserted
structures and numerous empty lots. Individuals have been relentlessly streaming out of the city for
quite a long time, leaving behind empty homes and scantily populated neighborhoods, leaving vacant
neighborhoods an invitation to more crime and other wrongdoing.
By the mid twentieth century, real changes in the American economy were underway, and the auto
business was on the front line. It wasn t the automotive industry alone that demolished Detroit. It was
urbanization that also played its hand in the demise of Detroit. The city was destroyed by
deindustrialization, and decentralization amid the post World War II spread and when the interstates,

Dressing Modesty
One of my core beliefs that has shaped who I am today has resulted from dressing modestly. Dressing
modestly is important to me because so often in this present age, one s body is displayed as a mere
object. Not only is modesty, chastity, and purity important in one s spiritual life, it is also crucial to
society. One might ask why it is so imperative that modesty be discussed. Well, one constantly hears
reports of rape, molesting, and how high the rate of pornography viewers is. Thus, how is one to
destroy these horrible acts except by how one dresses. I am not saying that dressing modestly will
completely obliterate sexual assault, but it will certainly cut down on how often it occurs.
I have always dressed modestly ever since I was a young child, but it was not until I was fourteen
years of age that I decided that I would begin to wear skirts rather than pants and shorts. What
influenced this was when I began to perceive the rate of women and young girls being raped. I felt that
as a young lady, it was my duty not to tempt young men to look at me as something other than a young
lady with thoughts and opinions of my own; I did not want to be a distraction, but rather a helper and
friend. As I grew older I began to realize how it was not only beneficial to others, but also to myself. I
noticed that my self worth began to rise as well as how I judged myself. Furthermore, I began to
distinguish that I was beginning to be my own person. How did I experience this? Well, I was

Song Analysis Of Hotel California
Everyone makes mistakes at some point in their lives. As an adolescent many are told to learn from
you mistakes, but an abundant amount of adults do not tend to live by that. Many times, people are
blinded by wealth, reputation, and success. Rather than making the right decisions, they disregard
their previous choices of action instead of learning from them. Hotel California s message is trying to
revert its listeners back to their childhood ways. The iconic track hit the music industry with its soulful
lyrics and its innovative sound in 1976. The album as well as the song is titled Hotel California . In
Hotel California, The Eagles relay to the listener that if one takes the risk, they must suffer the
consequences by using metaphor, assonance, and imagery.
The Eagles use rhythmic patterns in their lyrics that further portrays the main characters feelings
before and after he has to compensate. When The Eagles sing, She got the mercedes bends/She got a
lot of pretty, pretty, boys that she calls friends, this connects the two sentences to help the listener
further understand how the main character noticed the odd quirks about the situations and actions of
his peers (line 30).The use of assonance provides a more indepth outlook about the leading woman in
the song. Her situation was strange in the sense that her surroundings were very unlikely to achieve.
She seems to be substantially wealthy considering she is stranded in the middle of the desert without
occupation.

The Fantasy Story
Today I #8217;d like to tell you about fantasy literature. It is very hard to tell all about it but I #8217;ll
try to do it as good as possible and not being boring. First fantasy motifs were shown in romanticism.
We all know the mystical and unreal characters: ghosts, phantoms etc. Authors for building the special
mood and charm of that epoch used that figures.
But fantasy is something more than romantic ways of showing nature or inner experiences of the main
character in the novel. It #8217;s also not an attempt of explaining the unreal and difficult to
understand visions or event. In the course of time it began to live it #8217;s own life more and more

But one day, after many happy years on the throne, they got lost in a forest. While walking the trees

the human world. Children have big imagination so crossing the line between fantasies and real is not
a problem, but it is a big challenge for readers. Lewis created the magic land and as he once said:
#8221;even if all of that is imagined #8211; trees, grass, sun, moon, stars and Aslan, there is no doubt:
this imagined world is much better then the real one #8221;. The next kinds, beloved by fantasy fans

Dunsany. He named it as places #8220;beyond the fields we know #8221;. And we are really crossing
the line of human perception. Authors don #8217;t blink their eye, don #8217;t pretend like in the
Venice carnival. Not everything is from the beginning land of fantasy. Tolkien made never lands legal,
gave them autonomy and independence, full rights in authors imagination. He said that artistic
imagination has no borders and cannot be restricted by what is real. We can see what we want to see,
also the land of never. Never lands can use the cultural heritage of our world, but it all depends on the
author. Of course playing in never lands must be based on understanding and agreement between

Why Student Attends Secondary School
Where a student attends secondary school has a large influence on whether they are able to proceed in

changing the injustices in our educational system. These ambitions have led me to believe that
diversifying my knowledge of educational systems is imperative and I have chosen to study abroad in

Why Is Lincoln s Assassination Justified
On April 14th, 1865, John Wilkes Booth kidnaped and assassinated Abraham Lincoln. It was a
mournful day for individuals of the U.S . Meanwhile, Booth wanted to protect the South against the

Being motivated to do harsh actions leads to jealousy, which develops a person to do anything for

What Is Unnatural Essay
For many years Human beings have been trying to define what is natural, and what is not. And we are
getting to the point, to where unnatural is becoming more natural thanks to modern science and
medicine. For instance, If a man wants to become a woman, all they have to do is go to a doctor and
ask them to snip snip if you will. And as long as that person has the money and the medical
insurance/coverage, they can totally do it. But is homosexuality unnatural? I think yes and no. See, we
as human being experience a lot of things. We go through a lot of things. And we are always trying to
seek to figure out more about ourselves. But the thing that I have found is that what you define as
unnatural is based off of what you view as natural or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But it is ultimately up to you if you want to engage in that. We have no place to honestly judge
someone by their actions or lifestyle. Only God can do that. It is our job as human beings to instead of
shunning them for who they choose to be, we love on them, we develop mature relationship with
them, and we show them the true love of God. One that is non judgmental, nor condemning. But one
of understanding and loving. And show that we are not your typical bible thumpers, but that we
understand what they are feeling, though we may not agree with it, we show that we accept them for
who they are. See, we are supposed to be a light to the lost. How are we being that if we are constantly
shunning people from our churches, and lives, for being what they chose to be. Like I said, we do not

Master And Margarit The Genre Of Russian Socialist Realism
Master and Margarita The genre of Russian Socialist Realism is firmly tied up with the political
change that occurred in the Soviet Union in the 1920s and 30s, after the Bolshevik Revolution, and
has ruled every single masterful field until the separation of the Soviet Union in 1991. With the new
post progressive philosophies that were being put into utilization by the Soviet government to energize
the procedure of collectivization and industrialization, the requirement of Socialist Realism as a
primary scholarly classification was one of the critical methodologies produced. This contributed to
the push to make the new man who might ultimately share in an excellently chronicled try called
assembling Socialism. The Communist Party implemented an order throughout all of the USSR,
declaring that the primary worthy literature must be one that is socially zakat, in order to signify social
request/charge. This in turn infiltrated and absorbed nearly all Soviet subjects, substance, and styles of
composing that recreated the goals of social development. The literature that was appropriate for the
Party s points and held fast to their demand is classified as the Socialist Realism sort. As a result,
essayists who took after a socially zakat style and delivered work were considered representatives of
the state and any author disagreeing from this sort would rarely be distributed. In some more severe
cases, these authors could be labeled as enemies of the state if their

U.S Foreign Aid to Africa
U.S Foreign Aid to Africa Some people speak against U.S foreign aid being sent to Africa for
humanitarian reasons. Others speak out in favor of such actions. All of us have seen the news tickers
with vital headlines about people being devastated by droughts in Zimbabwe and unhygienic water in
Sudan , but what is their government doing about it. Personally, I ve asked myself several founded
inquiries about where is this foreign aid going to and what are some of the achievements being made. I
ve acquired over time well built knowledge in relation to the United Nations and the work they
perform globally to promote stability and development. I will be bringing in several valid arguments
to get to the bottom of this controversial subject of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Almost everything went wrong, but AID kept financing the program long after its failure was evident.
AID paid for the building of eighteen warehouses, but five were not built, three were not finished,
three collapsed, two had their roofs blown off, and three more quickly crumbled owing to serious
structural deficiencies. Fifty four open wells with contaminated water were to be sanitized, but only
nine were actually improved. A hundred mills for grinding grain were to be constructed; the project
managers built and tested one mill, then gave up. The road improvement project repaired less than one
quarter of the roads scheduled for upgrading. Isn t that marvelous? The prospect outlook for U.S
foreign Aid abroad according to 2010 Budget for the U.S Government is as follow, there will be a 10
percent increase on U.S Foreign Aid and the State Department Budget will get a hefty 51.75 billion
dollars in the fiscal year 2010. What the U.S State Department Budget goals are, an estimated $8
billion increase in the annual outlay to the International Monetary Fund, full funding for scheduled
payments to the World Bank, plus a portion of the outstanding arrears to reinforce the U.S.
commitment to play a leadership in these institutions. , Increases non military aid to Afghanistan and
Pakistan, to counter the resurgence of the Taliban, Increased funding, at an unspecified amount, for
global health programs, including AIDS

Rfid Is An Acronym For Radio Frequency Identification
Variations of RFID technology have been in use since the 1940 s. RFID is an acronym for radio
frequency identification. In application RFID is the use of radio signals to wirelessly track and
identify tags that have been placed on an item. RFID is an emerging technology that is helping
transportation companies, retailers, and manufacturers decrease handling times of goods and increase
efficiencies at factories, warehouses, and store fronts by tracking objects with greater flexibility and
less human involvement. RFID technology is unique and more adaptable than other tracking systems
because it does not require a direct line of sight between the scanner and the object being identified.
RFID systems can also identify more than one object simultaneously. This flexibility and efficiency
adds the type of value that is paramount in just in time principles. This paper will describe RFID
technology in detail, and discuss its current uses in security and access control, toll roads, and supply
chain management. RFID had its infancy during World War 2 with an expansion of research in radar
and radio. As with other products that had an initial military application RFID has progressed over
decades to become much more main stream. RFID was first widely used commercially in the 1960 s
as an anti theft device in retail stores. Retailers used a device called an EAS or electronic article
surveillance to protect high dollar items. The 1970 s saw RFID grow into applications with

Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay ( Elisa ) Lab Report
Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) Lab Report Abstract The enzyme linked
immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a common laboratory technique used to measure the concentration
of an analyte (usually antibodies or antigens) in solution. In the practical anti BSA antibodies that had
undergone serial dilutions were added to a BSA solution in an ELISA plate with goal of seeing how
the concentration of anti BSA antibodies would affect the colour change of the BSA solution. The
results clearly showed a direct correlation as the more diluted the anti BSA antibody solutions became
the lower the Wavelength readings at 405nm, which showed that there was less of a colour change.
Introduction The Enzymes linked immunoabsorbant assay (ELISA) is a commonly used biochemical
technique, often used in immunology as a way to detect the presence of an antibody or antigen in a
sample. ELISA works on the principle of an antigen binding to specific antibody (lock and key),
which can be used as a way to identify quantities of proteins in a small sample of fluid. The specific
proteins used in an ELISA are estimated quantitatively. The ELISA test is carried out by incubating
the serum that contains the antigen of interest with antibody s within a well, in order for the antibody s
to bind with the specific antigens. The plate is then washed with a mild detergent in order to remove
any proteins that have not been bound. The washing of the plates is carried out between every step in
order

The Between Modern And Modern Movement
Even if the Modern Movement has been interpreted in different ways, we consider function and
technology its main features . In fact, in this historical period, the exhibition of the tecnique takes, in
the designing process, different appearences, assuming solutions which go from the constructivism to
the expressionism, where every technical reference is hidden by a strong formalism.
Another analogy present in the Modern Movement is the function, that is the interaction between a
specific purpose and the natural purposes, existing priori.
All the modern architecture is based on this analogy interaction which defines its built forms and
compositive processes on the relation between a purpose to achieve and the inevitable of its relation
with the man, by finalizing to his life all the expressions of this purpose. All the estetic in the Modern
Movement pass through the obsession of the function, it is possible to see the manifestation of the
Modernism as a process connecting form, function and final purpose with the fact that we are a human
and vital act.
The Modernism presents the exaltation of the machine, of the aesathetic of dynamism, of speed and
industrialization. The celebration of the irreversible alienation that the machine, as a metaphor of
progression, causes on humans, and the breaking of ties between nature and artifact, are two of the
main features of the Modern Movement.
My purpose is to analyze the relation between form and function in the history of

Impact Of The Automotive Industry On The United States...
Automobile Industry David Evinger ECO/372 8/3/2015 Professor Tim Ringgold Introduction The
automotive industry has been one of the factors of trade between several countries that became very
important to the United States trade market. The industry took a heavy hit when the economy crashed
in 1929 forcing car industry sales to go down. The fall of sales with automobiles created havoc in
other industries as well. The domino effect began to take effect on other business such as oil and gas
companies. People stopped by oil and fuel when they couldn t afford to use their automobiles. People
couldn t get to work which had a huge factor on employment and loss of jobs. This paper will discuss
the huge effect it had with other areas of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the biggest name brand car dealers that took a hit due to models being behind the new and
current models was Pontiac and Saturn which in turn created decrease in sales. The models needed to
be removed from the factory assembly lines. This had a huge effect on economy that laid off American
civilians and contributed to the unemployment numbers. Toyota and Honda started to take the market
by storm, and surpassing some of the American competitors. Once Ford and GMC realized this they
knew they had to try a different strategy to overcome the growing market. Ford started to reduce
emissions and save on fuel economy with smaller engines with the same amount of speed. SWOT
Analysis The restoration or the United States auto industry is still on a sluggish as well as delicate
route, this really is based on JD Power s director of auto forecasting. Presently the prediction is to
have a market of 13.2m items for 2011; following forecasted a market of 11.6m items for this year.
Among the dangers for the 2011 market is that even though there will be greater advancements in the
United States Of America economy a lot of people will still be extremely careful, that will result in a
sluggish progress demand atmosphere for a while yet. The 3 largest powerhouses of the United States
of America automobile sector have a very good view.

Witchcraft And Wicca Similarities
The world is full of many different beliefs, religions, and practices. With so many different beliefs,
many very closely related, people tend to confuse the characteristics of some of these beliefs. In a
world where political correctness is so important, learning the differences and similarities between
similar belief systems can be very useful. One source of confusion is the difference between
Paganism, Wicca, and Witchcraft. These terms are primarily mixed up by Christians, who consider the
use of magic as a sin, as declared so in Scripture. While similar, Paganism, Wicca and Witchcraft have
different meanings and different levels of broadness.
Paganism is a religion considered not one of the main world religions. It is often misunderstood ...

It is the act of performing spells and rituals which defines Witchcraft. While people who are apart of
Wicca practice witchcraft, that does not necessarily mean that those who participate in it are Wiccans.
Similarly to Wicca, witchcraft is often associated to Satanism. This misconception has even led to
trials and witch hunts . This persecution is primarily seen in predominantly Christian towns and
villages. One notable example of these types of trials and witch hunts is the Salem Witch Trials, in the
Puritan town of Salem, Massachusetts. During this time in history, over twenty six people were
convicted of witchcraft and summarily hanged. Much of the confusion on what witchcraft is and is not
comes from situations like these where people are treated negatively for their

The Effects Of Media On The Media Influences Viewers
Racial Bias in the Media Influences Viewers
Television reaches more consumers for more time than any other source of media. Its use for
entertainment or news is overly influential, persuasive, and authoritative. Through these
characteristics, any type of information or message influences its massive audience. Because of this,
what Americans see or fail to see has a powerful impact on how they view other races. Young children
are especially vulnerable to the information they are exposed to. TV is a vehicle to provide
experiences and information not otherwise available to them. Older audiences, however, are also
vulnerable to the information. Consistent messages about traits and stereotypes of other races
reinforce specific ideas to the adult viewer. Viewers aren t limited to racial bias when other races are
on the screen, but are also susceptible when races aren t included. As a strong and influential tool,
television uses both obvious and subtle racial bias to influence its viewers.
Television is a strong and influential tool. To first understand why television has a strong influence on
its viewer s, it is important to know some basic facts. According to Nielsen s National Television
Household Universe Estimates, there are 116.4 million TV homes in the U.S. prior to the start of the
2014 15 TV season. The number of persons age 2 and older in U.S. TV Households is estimated to be
296 million (Nielsen, 2014). This stat shows the enormous audience that TV and its messages

Physics of Boating Essay
The first thing you should know is the physics behind a boat, seeing how you can t have a boating
adventure without one. To keep it simple, let s check out the main thing you should know about a
boat: Buoyancy. Buoyancy, by definition, is the upward force exerted by a liquid on any immersed
object. If the force of the liquid on the object is greater than that of the object on the liquid then the
object will float. In other words buoyancy is dependent upon the density of the liquid and the volume
of the object submerged.
Buoyancy:
Fb= d*g*V
Where Fb= the magnitude of the buoyant force
d= density of the liquid, g= force of gravity (9.8 m/s^2), V= volume of the submerged object
All object displace fluid when in a liquid, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
237) Translation: The tides are caused by the gravitational attraction between the earth and moon.
There are two low tides and two high tides each day. Low tide is when you smell dead fish. High tide
is when the smell is somewhat less stinky.
The bald eagle is not an uncommon sight when boating in Southeast Alaska. It is a massive bird that
flies with the greatest of ease. Lets take a look at the casually oversimplified physics behind the flight
of a bird. Basically, birds wings are not flat but are shaped like an aerofoil. Air passes over or under
the wing as the bird moves forward, or as the wind blows. The air that moves over the top of the wing
has further to travel to get across the wing, thus it speeds up. This causes the pressure to drop because
the same amount of air is exerting its pressure over a greater area. Therefore, any given point
experiences less pressure. This effectively sucks the wing up. Meanwhile the air going below the wing
experiences the opposite effect. It slows down, generates more pressure and effectively pushes the
wing up. Hence a bird with air moving over its wings is pulled up from above and pushed up from
below.

  • 2. Similarities Between Science And Humanities Science is a the study of the physical science and natural world through observation and experiment within a logical system. It explains why we see what we see. In contrast, humanities focus on more conceptual perspective, including arts, literature, philosophy and ethics. Most people may see these two as incompatible disciplines. But in fact, they are rather complementary to each other. With the power of written language, humans have been able to document all the finite details of the world around us from the description of a species to an extent of the history of a tribal. With that be in said, by using metaphor to describe what has been documented does not only help put things into perspective so that it is easier for humans to comprehend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This poem documented the Central Valley landscape during 1993. With this given context, readers can conclude that there is a change in landscape and species over time. However, the significance of this is the importance of documentation in regarding to our place in history and for the scientific documentaries. In Professor Tom Hothem s lecture, Some Snapshots from the literature of California . He emphasized that, each and every story is important because it doesn t only capture the exact moment on how the writer feel, but also the landscape at that point in time. For instance, about 500 years ago, in San Francisco, California there were no trees and was a flatland like Merced, California. However, in the 80s, people planted trees around that area and it became what we see today. If no one had recorded this tiny piece of information, people nowadays would have thought San Francisco was a place that is full of trees originally. Thus, by examining this example, Professor Hothem tried to stress the significance of documentation of the landscape. Information such that is an essential to the scientific entries because it helps scientists to understand the change in surrounding over a period of time and by documenting, scientists can ensure and utilize the information to predict and prevent a change in the ... • 3. Darwin s Theory Of Biological Evolution Evolution refers to the processes that have transformed life on Earth from its earliest forms to the vast diversity that characterizes it today (Campbell, 1993). However, a lot of things can change over a period of time. The Father of Evolution who is known as Charles Darwin, developed the theory of biological evolution. This theory has long been debated during and after darwin s time. Biological evolution can be seen through a momentous change in organisms by changing of the genetic composition. Darwin s theory did not only create a topic of controversy, but it was able to create a way of understanding life through biological evolution. The traditional Judeo Christian version of Creationism was strongly reinforced by James ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It had a beginning, but it has no ending. Creation is always busy making new scenes, new things and new Worlds (Weiner 3). In the bible it states that all living things were created at the hands of God. No one has ever desired to challenge the Catholic Church of this belief. Until a man by the name of Charles Darwin discovered the wonders on Daphne Major. After his survey of the island, he concluded that there was something about the finches beaks that made them unique to each of the islands. Making meticulous observations of the beaks he saw that each finch had a specific set of beaks. This allowed them to adapt to a specific niche in their environment. What is more. the tame little birds that Darwin had found hopping around beneath the bushes were unique too. They were not relatives of blackbirds, walders, wrens, and finches, as Darwin had thought when he bagged them (Weiner 28). Darwin speculated about how natural selection is one of the main concepts for biological evolution. Natural selection consisted of descent with modification, known as a gradual process over time, heritable biological traits become either more or less common in a population. When the next generation of that species gains that dominant trait in the population, this is known as descent with modification. Observing descent with modification is still prominent during that time period. According to the Variation Lab, natural selection was the driving mechanism for biological evolution. ... In today s society, Netflix and Chill is an actual term used by Millennials, young adults, and adolescents. Netflix accounts are shared like candy, and a break up results in your ex continuing to use your Netflix account. It is hard to imagine a time when this was not the norm, when Netflix did not exist. In order to live the Netflix obsessed lives society does, what had to happen? What is the history of Netflix? The Founding of Netflix In 1997, Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph co founded Netflix. When the CD arrived at Hastings house undamaged the two realized that they may just be on to something. Following their epiphany was a period of working through the details (Xavier), where Randolph mainly, worked through things such as cost and how the company would work. Eventually there was nothing else that could be researched or worked out and the pair had to jump (Xavier) into their new business. The Growth of Netflix Today only Hastings remains with Netflix, while Randolph left the company back in 2002, and the company s board of directors in 2004. Leadership is not the only change Netflix has seen. The Netflix known today bears almost a zero resemblance (Xavier) to the original concept Hastings and Randolph envisioned for Netflix. People watch and play soccer daily for leisure and for some, it is a profession. It is a universal game that is being played and enjoyed all over the world. It would be unfair to say that soccer is only important because of the pleasure derived from playing and watching the game. That would be incorrect because soccer is the most famous sport due to its exceptional enhancement and maintenance of quality health, the impressive social bonding which occurs during play and how it builds up communities. Of course, soccer is a game played in mud, grass or a flat field. Soccer can also be watched on TV, play a video game and as a table top game called foosball . Every player has a role to perform when playing and they all work hand in hand towards the same goal as a team. In this situation, players learn how to relate to each other, thereby motivating each other to be better player. Teammates learn how to trust each other to build important goals as a team. • 6. Analysis Of The Book Four Kinds Of Chance By James H.... The Chance to have good or bad Luck. There are times in life that we attribute good luck to our hard work, dedication or talent but there are some other times when we can say that luck is just a chance that we get. As we can see on the work of this two authors James H. Austin the author of Four kinds of chance published in Saturday Review and Robert H. Frank author of why luck matters much more than you think published in The Atlantic (May 2016) they show the reader how chances can influence in different ways. After reading their work I consider Robert H Frank article more effectively fulfills his thesis. Austin article was more dedicated to the general public, students, adults, people who not necessarily needs to have education. In his article he uses a vocabulary that most of the people could understand also he gave us definitions in some of the words like for instance the phrase like a mirage (p.11) he explained with a lot of details what mirage was, by doing this we as a reader can have more knowledge of why he is using that word as an example. He informed us since the begging that he was going to talk about four varieties of chance and the best way to start with the definition of chance. As we continue reading he guides us by referring to the chances as Chance I, Chance II, Chance III and concluding with Chance IV where we realize that he express more and have a detail example on how chance IV works. If we move to the examples we can perceive that he is showing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Two Component Stressors Introduction Bacteria are prone to various stressors so they need to sense and respond to these fluctuating conditions in order to survive. Two component plays an important role in the bacterial kingdom to sense and adapt themselves to these varieties of stressors, for example oxidative stress, protein misfolding, nutrient starvation and many more. It is first described by Ninfa and Magasanik (1986) in the study of nitrogen starvation in Escherichia coli. Two component system consists of a sensor histidine kinase and its cognate response regulator (Koretke,K.K. 2000). Sensor histidine kinase is bifunctional which means it can function as both kinase and phosphatase. It autophosphorylates itself upon sensing a signal, whereby the phosphoryl group from ATP molecule is transferred to a specific histine residue on the histidine kinase. It then acts as phosphodonor substrate for its cognate response regulator. The cognate response regulators is acting as phosphatase to the histidine kinase as it catalyses the transfer of the phosphoryl group from histidine kinase to its conserved aspartic acid residue. Once phosphorylated, response regulator undergoes conformational change which activates the output domain leading to either stimulation or repression of the targeted genes. As mentioned earlier on, histidine kinase protein also acts as phosphatase for its cognate response regulator if it is not stimulated to autophosphorylate. This system has vast variations and the common ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tert-Butyl Chloride Lab Report The aim of this experiment was to perform a reaction via a Sn1 reaction to prepare tert Butyl chloride and test the effectiveness of the reaction by examining the reactivity of the product. To prepare tert Butylchloride from tert Butylalcohol, one must cause a Sn1 reaction to occur. An Sn1 reaction is a monomolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction, meaning that one molecule is involved in each step of the Sn1 reaction. First, the leaving group leaves. After the leaving group leaves, the nucleophile has enough room to form a bond with the carbocation. As a result, the leaving group is replaced by the nucleophile (Michman 2016). In our reaction, the nucleophile is chlorine and the leaving group is water, which forms after the protonation of hydroxide to form a better leaving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, Sn2 reactions are dimolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction; thus, all steps of the reaction occur simultaneously. Rather than the leaving group leaving and then the nucleophile attacking, the leaving group begins to break its bond with carbon as the nucleophile begins to form a bond with the carbon. Sn2 reactions result in an inversion of stereochemistry because the nucleophile must form its bond with carbon behind the leaving group, since the leaving group is still partially attacked (Michman 2016). To synthesize tert Butylchloride we must use an Sn1 reaction pathway because Sn1 reaction are more stable modes of substitution in tertiary and secondary alkyl halides and alcohols (Michman 2016). Sn2 reactions are more effective for primary alkyl halides and alcohols. This is again because tertiary alkyl halide, like tert Butylalcohol, are very large the leaving group must leave first to make room for nucleophile. • 10. 1984 Manipulation Of Love Essay Edmund Burke once said, No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as hate. In other words, when one becomes enveloped in the emotion of hate, similarly to that of love, it can alter one s thought and ability to make decisions. Love and hate are the two most powerful emotions and are seen at the core of humanity; however, it is ironic that such strong emotions can be so easily manipulated. George Orwell considers this idea in his novel 1984 and reveals the relationship between love and hate in a dystopian society. Most history books forget to mention the moments where Native Americans had to fight for their land, rights, and lives. Throughout history, many scenes are filled with European settlers and early Americans annihilating entire tribes of Natives. Everything they had come to know in the first five years of their lives were trampled on. Pratt is known for saying, kill the Indian and save the man and believing that Native Americans were inferior to white people (Marr, n.d.). Pratt believed that the only way to add Natives to the American melting pot was by transforming them through education. The schedule set for the students was harsh and rough. At Cushman Indian School in Tacoma, Washington, the students were expected to wake up at 5:45 A.M., perform industrial work at 8:00 A.M., classes from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M., continue drills all afternoon, and end their day at 8:45 P.M. Another harsh reality of the schedule is that the school time hardly focused on subjects like math or science. They were often filled with rigorous English courses where students were punished for talking in their native language (Marr, n.d.). If the abuse and malnourishment did not cause a child to run away or sometimes even commit suicide, then the disease would catch many Native students. The book was written by Keithlyn and Fernando Smith continuing with their journey portraying the story of life in the plantation in Antigua not long after slavery. The story tells how the ex slaves defended themselves with pride and their symbol of freedom. In fact, sixty one percent of American adults are convinced that today s youth face a crisis in their values and morals, look at teenagers with misgiving and view them as undisciplined, disrespectful, and unfriendly (Latham, 2003). When there is a proper forum to discuss the experiences they receive while volunteering, students are given a chance to understand how policies and civic involvement play a direct role in the lives of people in their communities. (Lakin Mahoney, 2006). Another issue is content involved in the community service activities. If teenagers are thrust into a volunteer situation they don t understand or feel that they are simply being assigned made up work, it can actually have a detrimental effect (Tugend, 2010). One way to make the most of volunteer opportunities is to specifically design the content around areas of student development. By focusing on key content areas, students learn how to use their current skill set to navigate new experiences and difficult situations. (Lakin Mahoney, 2006). Ethical Dilemmas Of An Ethical Dilemma An ethical dilemma is a situation in which an individual is compelled to choose between two actions that will affect the welfare of a sentient being, and both actions are reasonably justified as being good... (Butts Rich, 2016, p. 55). In everyday nursing practice, many nurses are faced with various ethical dilemmas that occur between patients, their family, and healthcare professionals. Many healthcare professionals work on common goals to provide patients with the safest and highest quality care. However, some doctors poor or bad orders lead nurses into ethical dilemmas that are not evidence based practice or are not consistent with the nursing standards of practice. Following the doctor s order can risk patients safety, which also violates ethical principles such as beneficence and nonmaleficence. However, in a clinical environment, nurses practices are deeply intertwined with doctors practices in the delivery of health care, which requires collaboration in each profession. As a registered nurse, when faced with this situation, I experienced an ethical conflict of what to put first: patient safety or friendly relationships with doctors. The purpose of this paper is to identify ethical dilemmas that can arise between a nurse and a doctor due to a doctor s poor practices that threaten patients well being and safety. This paper also deals with how to solve this conflict with respect for each other s professions. Toren and Wagner (2010) suggest that nurses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are Canadian citizens who thought that the Canadian government we have is perfect, citizens who believed that every aspect of the government was truly democratic, and citizens who believe that government could do no wrong. Truly this group of believers has been living a lie. In our Canadian system of government, large aspects within are far from democratic and need to be changed. Liberal minded people will cry out for a change in order for government to serve the people better, and on the other hand the more conservative thinkers will argue that no change is needed because our government is efficient and considerate. Even when the whole of the government was in outrage at this incompetence, they could not legally kick him out of office. There will inevitably be more incidents like these unless the Senate is reformed. Thankfully, there are several possible ways to reform the Senate as to make it a more democratic institute. The Senate, undemocratic as it is, obviously needs some tweaks and changes in the system to make it more so. The Canadian Senate should reform entirely into a triple E Senate (Elected, Efficient, Equal). In the Triple E Senate, Senators should be elected by the voters instead of appointed, the efficient distribution of power towards the Senate to balance out the power. This would create a more democratic and fairer Senate that would better serve the needs of the citizens it represents. While the Triple E Senate may not get things done nearly as quickly as the current Senate, it would at least make the right decisions for everyone. While the Senate is a major blight upon Canadian government, it is not the only one. While the main character, Buzz, and his cousin were in California, they were playing a game and overheard some disturbing words by Buzz s mother. Buzz previously had great respect for his mother and was a happy, fun kid. A turn of events changed his point of view and made him see his mother in a mean, cold view. We start to see some prejudice when Buzz s mom said He s my favorite of the boys. He s so light skinned and look at that good straight hair. But as the conversation is progressing, so is the hurtfulness of his mother s words. The final breaking point for Buzz is when his mom says I m so glad this baby didn t turn out black and ugly like Buzz As we could see through the dialogue, Buzz faced prejudice from no one but his own mother. This will require patience along with understanding to help the child as well as long term planning of attitudinal changes. Dressing modestly is important to me because so often in this present age, one s body is displayed as a mere object. Well, one constantly hears reports of rape, molesting, and how high the rate of pornography viewers is. Thus, how is one to destroy these horrible acts except by how one dresses. I am not saying that dressing modestly will completely obliterate sexual assault, but it will certainly cut down on how often it occurs. I have always dressed modestly ever since I was a young child, but it was not until I was fourteen years of age that I decided that I would begin to wear skirts rather than pants and shorts. What influenced this was when I began to perceive the rate of women and young girls being raped. I felt that as a young lady, it was my duty not to tempt young men to look at me as something other than a young lady with thoughts and opinions of my own; I did not want to be a distraction, but rather a helper and friend. As I grew older I began to realize how it was not only beneficial to others, but also to myself. I noticed that my self worth began to rise as well as how I judged myself. • 40. What Is Unnatural Essay For many years Human beings have been trying to define what is natural, and what is not. And we are getting to the point, to where unnatural is becoming more natural thanks to modern science and medicine. For instance, If a man wants to become a woman, all they have to do is go to a doctor and ask them to snip snip if you will. And as long as that person has the money and the medical insurance/coverage, they can totally do it. But is homosexuality unnatural? I think yes and no. See, we as human being experience a lot of things. We go through a lot of things. And we are always trying to seek to figure out more about ourselves. But it is ultimately up to you if you want to engage in that. We have no place to honestly judge someone by their actions or lifestyle. Only God can do that. One that is non judgmental, nor condemning. But one of understanding and loving. And show that we are not your typical bible thumpers, but that we understand what they are feeling, though we may not agree with it, we show that we accept them for who they are. See, we are supposed to be a light to the lost. How are we being that if we are constantly shunning people from our churches, and lives, for being what they chose to be. Like I said, we do not have to agree with their lifestyle, but we sure can love them through it, and eventually show them a better way. So, is Homosexuality unnatural? • 42. Master And Margarit The Genre Of Russian Socialist Realism Master and Margarita The genre of Russian Socialist Realism is firmly tied up with the political change that occurred in the Soviet Union in the 1920s and 30s, after the Bolshevik Revolution, and has ruled every single masterful field until the separation of the Soviet Union in 1991. With the new post progressive philosophies that were being put into utilization by the Soviet government to energize the procedure of collectivization and industrialization, the requirement of Socialist Realism as a primary scholarly classification was one of the critical methodologies produced. This contributed to the push to make the new man who might ultimately share in an excellently chronicled try called assembling Socialism. The Communist Party implemented an order throughout all of the USSR, declaring that the primary worthy literature must be one that is socially zakat, in order to signify social request/charge. This in turn infiltrated and absorbed nearly all Soviet subjects, substance, and styles of composing that recreated the goals of social development. The literature that was appropriate for the Party s points and held fast to their demand is classified as the Socialist Realism sort. As a result, essayists who took after a socially zakat style and delivered work were considered representatives of the state and any author disagreeing from this sort would rarely be distributed. Fifty four open wells with contaminated water were to be sanitized, but only nine were actually improved. A hundred mills for grinding grain were to be constructed; the project managers built and tested one mill, then gave up. • 44. Rfid Is An Acronym For Radio Frequency Identification Variations of RFID technology have been in use since the 1940 s. RFID is an acronym for radio frequency identification. In application RFID is the use of radio signals to wirelessly track and identify tags that have been placed on an item. RFID is an emerging technology that is helping transportation companies, retailers, and manufacturers decrease handling times of goods and increase efficiencies at factories, warehouses, and store fronts by tracking objects with greater flexibility and less human involvement. RFID technology is unique and more adaptable than other tracking systems because it does not require a direct line of sight between the scanner and the object being identified. RFID systems can also identify more than one object simultaneously. This flexibility and efficiency adds the type of value that is paramount in just in time principles. This paper will describe RFID technology in detail, and discuss its current uses in security and access control, toll roads, and supply chain management. RFID had its infancy during World War 2 with an expansion of research in radar and radio. As with other products that had an initial military application RFID has progressed over decades to become much more main stream. RFID was first widely used commercially in the 1960 s as an anti theft device in retail stores. Retailers used a device called an EAS or electronic article surveillance to protect high dollar items. The 1970 s saw RFID grow into applications with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay ( Elisa ) Lab Report Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) Lab Report Abstract The enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a common laboratory technique used to measure the concentration of an analyte (usually antibodies or antigens) in solution. In the practical anti BSA antibodies that had undergone serial dilutions were added to a BSA solution in an ELISA plate with goal of seeing how the concentration of anti BSA antibodies would affect the colour change of the BSA solution. The results clearly showed a direct correlation as the more diluted the anti BSA antibody solutions became the lower the Wavelength readings at 405nm, which showed that there was less of a colour change. Introduction The Enzymes linked immunoabsorbant assay (ELISA) is a commonly used biochemical technique, often used in immunology as a way to detect the presence of an antibody or antigen in a sample. ELISA works on the principle of an antigen binding to specific antibody (lock and key), which can be used as a way to identify quantities of proteins in a small sample of fluid. The specific proteins used in an ELISA are estimated quantitatively. The ELISA test is carried out by incubating the serum that contains the antigen of interest with antibody s within a well, in order for the antibody s to bind with the specific antigens. The plate is then washed with a mild detergent in order to remove any proteins that have not been bound. The washing of the plates is carried out between every step in order ... In fact, in this historical period, the exhibition of the tecnique takes, in the designing process, different appearences, assuming solutions which go from the constructivism to the expressionism, where every technical reference is hidden by a strong formalism. Another analogy present in the Modern Movement is the function, that is the interaction between a specific purpose and the natural purposes, existing priori. All the modern architecture is based on this analogy interaction which defines its built forms and compositive processes on the relation between a purpose to achieve and the inevitable of its relation with the man, by finalizing to his life all the expressions of this purpose. All the estetic in the Modern Movement pass through the obsession of the function, it is possible to see the manifestation of the Modernism as a process connecting form, function and final purpose with the fact that we are a human and vital act. The Modernism presents the exaltation of the machine, of the aesathetic of dynamism, of speed and industrialization. The celebration of the irreversible alienation that the machine, as a metaphor of progression, causes on humans, and the breaking of ties between nature and artifact, are two of the main features of the Modern Movement. Its use for entertainment or news is overly influential, persuasive, and authoritative. Through these characteristics, any type of information or message influences its massive audience. Because of this, what Americans see or fail to see has a powerful impact on how they view other races. Young children are especially vulnerable to the information they are exposed to. TV is a vehicle to provide experiences and information not otherwise available to them. Older audiences, however, are also vulnerable to the information. Consistent messages about traits and stereotypes of other races reinforce specific ideas to the adult viewer. Viewers aren t limited to racial bias when other races are on the screen, but are also susceptible when races aren t included. As a strong and influential tool, television uses both obvious and subtle racial bias to influence its viewers. Television is a strong and influential tool. To keep it simple, let s check out the main thing you should know about a boat: Buoyancy. Buoyancy, by definition, is the upward force exerted by a liquid on any immersed object. If the force of the liquid on the object is greater than that of the object on the liquid then the object will float. In other words buoyancy is dependent upon the density of the liquid and the volume of the object submerged. Buoyancy: Fb= d*g*V Where Fb= the magnitude of the buoyant force d= density of the liquid, g= force of gravity (9.8 m/s^2), V= volume of the submerged object All object displace fluid when in a liquid, ... It is a massive bird that flies with the greatest of ease. Lets take a look at the casually oversimplified physics behind the flight of a bird. Basically, birds wings are not flat but are shaped like an aerofoil. Air passes over or under the wing as the bird moves forward, or as the wind blows. The air that moves over the top of the wing has further to travel to get across the wing, thus it speeds up. This causes the pressure to drop because the same amount of air is exerting its pressure over a greater area. Therefore, any given point experiences less pressure. This effectively sucks the wing up. Meanwhile the air going below the wing experiences the opposite effect. It slows down, generates more pressure and effectively pushes the wing up. Hence a bird with air moving over its wings is pulled up from above and pushed up from below. Marine Mammals Communication: Whales are amazing mammals on many levels.
