Topics For Reflective Essays
1. Topics For Reflective Essays
Writing an essay on the topic "Topics for Reflective Essays" can be both challenging and
intriguing. The difficulty arises from the need to navigate through the vast array of potential
reflective essay subjects and identify one that resonates personally. Reflective essays require
introspection, thoughtful analysis, and the ability to convey personal experiences or insights
effectively.
Firstly, selecting the right topic is crucial. It should be something that allows for deep reflection
and provides an opportunity to explore personal growth, challenges faced, or lessons learned.
The challenge lies in finding a balance between a topic that is meaningful to the writer and one
that engages the reader.
Once a topic is chosen, the process of writing involves delving into one's own experiences,
emotions, and thoughts. This introspective journey can be emotionally demanding as it requires
honesty and vulnerability. The writer must be willing to explore their own feelings and
experiences openly, which can be a challenging but rewarding aspect of reflective writing.
Crafting an effective reflective essay also involves organizing thoughts coherently and
presenting them in a structured manner. It requires the ability to connect personal experiences to
broader themes, making the essay relatable to a wider audience. This skill demands careful
consideration of language, tone, and the overall narrative flow.
Furthermore, the challenge is to avoid sounding self-indulgent or overly sentimental. Striking the
right balance between personal expression and maintaining an academic tone is essential. It
requires a nuanced approach to writing that allows the author's voice to shine through while still
adhering to the conventions of academic discourse.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Topics for Reflective Essays" is a complex task that involves
careful topic selection, introspection, and effective communication. It demands a delicate balance
between personal expression and academic rigor. Despite the difficulties, successfully navigating
this process can lead to a compelling and meaningful reflective essay.

2. The Conflict Between Israel And Palestinian Refugees
Going after their independence, Israel was looking for the support of big and
powerful countries, and the cooperation of the surrounding states. Unfortunately, the
Israeli independence movement did not turn out to be so easy. As the surrounding
Arab nations began to get angry with the preferential treatment of the British,
tensions rose between Israeland the Palestinians. Consequently, because of the
superior army and the support behind Israel, the wars resulted in an abundance of
Palestinian refugees that still struggle to establish their own state today. Through
many efforts and support systems, international aid has been offered to the
Palestinian refugees, but as proven by the millions of refugees that still live in the
UNRWA camps today, none of these tactics have worked. Although international
organizations were ineffective in solving the conflict between Israel and the
Palestinian refugees, the establishment of an Arab state early on would have
prevented a future humanitarian crisis; demonstrating the preferential treatment
within foreign intervention.
Leading up to the wars between Israel and the Arabs, Israel was getting favorable
treatment from the British, as Palestinians were left to fight against the odds. If this
one sided contract and way of thinking had not existed, both the Arabs and the Jews
would have been satisfied. In the late 19th century, there was a rise of Zionism among
the Jewish people, in effort to return the Jews to their homeland and resume
3. The Debate On Immigration Reform
Abstract: Until the bill passed, much of the debate surrounding the Development,
Relief, and Education for Alien Minors, or DREAM Act, brought about legal, ethical,
and logistical concerns. Illegal immigration and the population unauthorized alien in
the United States were key issues in the ongoing debate on immigrationreform.
However, the benefits of this bill outweighed its disadvantages. Immigration
policies in the United States concerning undocumented workers are strict and
direct. Employers are not allowed to employ illegal or undocumented immigrants.
The DREAM Act which was enacted by the Obama administration s announcement
of deferred action for deportation of undocumented youths provides alternates.
Under the provision of this law, a person is eligible for citizenship if they came to
the United states at age 15 or younger, are currently 35 or younger, have been
resent in the country for at least five years, completed high school, and completed
at least two years of higher education or honorably served in the armed forces for at
least two years (Guzman Jara, 2012). The advantages of Dream Act as well as its
disadvantages on the US economy would be analyzed. Future analysis and other
immigrant working situations would also be evaluated.
Introduction:
Employment policies regarding hiring immigrants have been fairly straight forward
since the early nineteenth century. The Unites States law provides employers with
several limited ways of employing foreign workers on a

Menace or Assurance? :
A Rhetorical Perspective on the Issue of WikiLeaks
Founded in 2006 by Australian journalist Julian Assange, the website WikiLeaks had
quickly risen in infamy over the past few years (Majerol 19). The controversial
website had posted hundreds of thousands of classified documents about the Iraq and
Afghanistan war, revealing government cover ups, a secret assassination unit and the
killing of civilians among many things. The release of these confidential documents
has produced two opposing views on whether or not WikiLeaks is a good thing
(Pilger 18).
In an article highlighting the benefits of WikiLeaks, Steven Greenhut explains that
Julian Assange and his website have done our nation a service . Greenhut asserts ...

She also questions the legitimacy of the documents posted by WikiLeaks. Since the
information was essentially stolen, she says, who can truly verify the truth behind the
documents? Furthermore, Cupp strongly rejects the idea of WikiLeaks being a
journalistic service because the best journalists, she says, always consider the
consequences of the information they release, something WikiLeaks is all too willing
to compromise (Cupp 1).
This paper will not align itself behind a certain view in an attempt to twist the
reader s arm into believing one side is better than the other. It will provide no
opinion whatsoever as to which side you should belong to; it will leave the qualities
and failings of the argument itself alone.
Rather, this paper will outline the rhetoric behind each op ed. It will analyze each op
ed for strengths and weaknesses in its use of logic (logos), ethics (ethos) and appeal
to the reader (pathos). It will evaluate how the evidence is presented, answering
whether the evidence is enough, whether it is appropriate, whether it is updated and
whether it is relevant.
In the first op ed, Steven Greenhut presents a clear thesis: Julian Assange, through his
website WikiLeaks, has done the nation a service . It immediately shows Greenhut s
stance in the issue, which defends with three main reasons: the information
WikiLeaks has revealed will not endanger

6. Spoken Language Discourse Essay
Language is a tool people use to communicate with others, it can be both seen and
heard and it can be standard or diverse. It is the way in which individuals share
information and encompasses many forms including written and spoken, body
language and signals, visual stimuli and even the use of electronic devices. Language
can be spoken, written or signed and involves many facets. According to Gee
Hayes, 2011, language is influenced by both social and cultural environments, it is
often social in that it can be personalised to a group or individual and cultural
whereby the way a person speaks is relative to the rules of the society they live in
and governed by the cultural acceptances of that society.
Our language is heard when we use spoken language and requires an individual to
make and understand verbal cues and it also provides the necessity to be able code
and decode both text and non verbal cues such as gestures and facial expressions.
Within society there exist many Discourses. Discourses determine how people view
language, and more importantly, how they practise it. (Green, D, 2006, p.3) Within a
Discourse there may be many discourses that are different ways of speaking within
the overarching Discourse. For example, within a school setting you have an
educational Discourse that is the language of the department of education used to set
the expected standards for the school. Within this Discourse you have many smaller
discourses such as the language used by the

The stories The Ant And The Grasshopper and The Three Little Pigs have both
similarities and differences. One thing these stories have in common is the theme.
The theme of these stories is being unprepared can hurt you. In the story The Ant
And The Grasshopper winter is coming, and the ant is preparing for winter, and the
grasshopper is not. The ant spent most of his days gathering food and making
shelter. The grasshopper spent his days eating all the food he could find and enjoying
the weather. But then winter came and the grasshopper had no food or shelter. While
the ant had a lot of food and shelter. Through the whole story the grasshopper is being
unprepared. The grasshopper did not make it through the winter
8. John Deere Use Self-Driving Tractors
In 1837 John Deere came to be what it is today and is 180 years old this year. John
Deere has withstood the test of time and has been advancing. Farming technology
has been advancing through the years and continues to advance. Now we are going
to drive the tractor right into learning about GPS. Global positioning systems create
precision farming. People can get GPS in almost all pieces of farm equipment that
drive. Global information systems work with GPS to help install information to let
the GPS direct the equipment. GPS is used for planting, field mapping, tractor
guidance, soil sampling, crop scouting, yield mapping, and variable rate application.
GPS is all over the agricultureindustry.

The idea to create the W155 came from the W150. The W150 windrower was a
great success for John Deere. They wanted to create an even better machine so that
is why the W155 was created. The terrain will not change how well the W155
operates. John Deere started in 1837. Thus it became the company it is today and

The cab suspension gives the operator a calm ride and helps them to get a lot of

9. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Managing Big Data
Question 1:
Compare and contrast this case with the material in this chapter on Big Data. That is,
given the disadvantages of over retained data, how should an organization (NAIT)
manage Big Data?
Answer:
Organizations end up retaining a lot of data over the years and will continue to do
so as they expand and grow. This is true for organizations such as NAIT where
every year they see more and more students while also expanding their campus with
new buildings which require the storage of big data. In order for NAIT to manage
their data, they must make sure that they do not over retain too much data as it will
most likely cost them in the future.
Some of the disadvantages to over retaining data for NAIT would be unnecessary
data storage costs and data migration, potential legal costs, and hidden costs. NAIT is
continuously expanding its campus and with every new building, they will have to
perform data migration to store information into some of the computers being
installed which will cost time and money. If ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Organizations use Big Data to have a bargaining power of customers by using
buyer s history to anticipate the needs of those buyers or products or to find a
suitable replacement for the product on the website being used, to secure a purchase

through price discrimination. Big Data can provide you with insights into the raw
material prices paid by your supplier. Organizations control new entrants by tying
customers to their product and services making it expensive for them to switch
suppliers. Big Data is also used to identify and eliminate inefficiencies. It does this by
making data more transparent. Large organizations relentless use of data to drive
efficiency makes it difficult for new entrants to match
10. Cause And Effect Of Hydrocodone
Hydrocodone a drug used to change how your brain and your nervous system reacts
to pain. When taken the medication correctly it should relieve mood, reduction of
pain. Hydrocodone was introduced in the 1920 s from the country of Germany. Carl
Mannich and Helenen Lowenheim were the first to report it being in use in 1923(
Eckenrode, S. L. (2015).Hydrocodoneis a form of opiate, analgesic, it is described as
white crystals as a crystalline powder and reacts to light. This drug classified as a
schedule II drug known as a controlled substance. Hydrocodone is often always
found in combination with acetaminophen such as Vicodin and Lortab (Advokat, C.
D., Comaty, J. E., Julien, R. M. 2014). As of 2012, the United States Hydrocodone
is the most used drug prescribed to treat pain. The United States has consumed 99%
of this global supply for 4.4% of the worldwide population. (Manchikanti, L., Atluri,
S., Kaye, A.M., Kaye, A.D). The US Drug and food administration approved the drug
for sale in the United States in 1943.
Mechanism of Action The Mechanism of Action in Hydrocodone is not known, but it
is believed it Opioid receptors againist the central nervous system. What we do know
is that it the source of the hydrocodone is Semisynthetic with two naturally occurring
opiates, codeine, and thebaine (Eckenrode, S. L. (2015). Neurotransmitters effected
from the usage of hydrocodone is the brain neurotransmitters. It can impair brain
function to where you can t function normally without having the drug in your
system. The neurotransmitter control movement, mood, digestion, body temperature,
and breathing. Using this medicine can cause the neurotransmitters to discharge ant
and faster rate. Your brain produces its chemical to control pain and other body
functions. Your mind can stop producing its compound and start to rely on the
opiates that are inside of the Hydrocodone.
Dosage, Administration, Absorption, and Metabolism
Hydrocodone is available in a variety of dosages with acetaminophen. When taken
oral the dosage can range from 5mg to 10 mg tablets. Time administration interval of
every four to six hours as needed Eckenrode, S. L. (2015). The recommended dose
for chronic acetaminophen is 3000 mg/day. Hydrocodone
11. Modern Family Myth Essay
Debunking the Modern Family Myth
According to Stephanie Coontz in What We Really Miss About The 1950 s , the
1950 s were symbolic in terms of the nuclear American family. The typical nuclear
American family structure consisted of an unemployed stay at home mom, working
dad, a child or two, and a suburban home. In her article, she refers to the 1950 s as
being the optimal time period for family s where the ideology in television shows
such as Father Knows Best and Leave It To Beaver was not just a depiction of how
life was supposed to be lived, but an accurate portrayal of how life actually was back
then. Today, the once commonly known family structure has been modified and
tweaked and the standard image of a modern day family is no ... Show more content

Today s culture seems to not be able to accept anything that is out of the norm. As a
result, gay marriage has been under constant backlash due to the idea that the true
marriage and a real family is constituted by the union of a male and a female.
Although the model family was previously seen as the union of a male and female
back in the 1950 s, things change over time and with it news things are formed.
With gay couples increasingly coming out and demanding their rights, the definition
of the traditional family is being altered and along with it the disappearance of
some American myths and traditions. We now live in the year 2013, and the same
ideals that we possessed back in the 1950 s no longer function the same way today;
many people are choosing not marry until a later age, and the divorce rate is at the
highest it s ever been, so how do we really define what a real and traditional
American family is and who should be able to get a say in who gets to marry or not.
With gay marriage becoming an increasingly popular discussion topic there exist
constant feuding between which is right or not. We must think through it logically
and ask ourselves: how does a homosexual couple not constitute as much of a family
as a heterosexual couple? Gay marriage in American culture but more closely
religious culture is primarily not accepted but in Evan Wolfson s What is Marriage ,
what really constitutes a marriage these days
12. The Role of Women in DoyleВґs A Scandal in Bohemia Essay
Doyle s A Scandal in Bohemia follows the story of the famous detective Sherlock
Holmes on his adventures to retrieve a disgraceful photograph of Irene Adler and the
King of Bohemia. The king, now engaged to a different woman, is fearful that Adler
may use the photo as blackmail. In A Scandal in Bohemia, the apparent role of
women is minuscule. The only female emphasis is on one woman, who is the object
of Holmes detective inquiries. In A Scandal in Bohemia, society places women at a
subordinate level, pushing them to the background and therefore never allowing the
reader to fully understand their character. Watson describes women as second class
citizens at the start of the story without directly saying so. Watson comments: My own

The King also fears the revelation of the scandalous photograph simply because it lies
in the hands of a woman. His interests to dominate this woman, Irene Adler, are
evident in the callous actions the King directs towards her. The King states, Five
attempts have been made. Twice burglars in my pay ransacked her house. Once we
diverted her luggage when she traveled. Twice she has been waylaid. There has
been no result (218). This disdain and oblivion towards Adler s privacy leads one
to reassess the King s motives. Is he actually interested in the photograph or do his
actions focus solely on hurting Irene Adler? The King wants the upper hand on this
beautiful, yet extremely intelligent woman. The King s attitude towards his future
wife and his former lover, Irene Adler, fits into society s narrowly defined roles of
women. In British Victorian society, women were the nurtures and the protectors of
the children, and what some deemed as only monetarily valuable items. This female
instinct to nurture is one stereotype that is greatly reflected in the personality of
Irene Adler. Adler s willingness to help is a quality that Watson, as well as other men
in society, felt all women should possess. Watson acknowledges this nurturing
tendency when he says, but I know that I never felt more heartily ashamed of myself
when I saw the beautiful creature against which I was conspiring, or the grace and
kindliness with which she

14. Pros And Cons Of Keeping The Driving Age
How many people die every year from car accidents? How many of those people
qualify as careless teenagers? Nearly 1.3 million people die each year in car
accidents, which is on average 3,287 deaths per day. Young drivers between the
ages of fifteen and twenty account for sixty percent of these accidents. For almost a
century, the age for teenagers to be allowed to drive on public roads without
supervision has been sixteen, resulting in a higher death rate due to the carelessness
of young drivers in the United States. For example, as stated by the Free Personal
Injury Help Center, one in every three teens says they text or email while driving: the
number one cause of deaths among all drivers. The amount of young and old drivers

Teenagers are more likely to speed than older drivers because people have less
developed brains at the ages of 16 or 17 than at 21 or 22. As a result, one in four
teenagers are aggressive drivers and almost twenty percent of teenagers admit that
they enjoy speeding, as stated in the New York Times. Drunk driving is a recent
problem even among adults. Although drinking and driving is illegal, and drinking
under the age of twenty one is illegal, twenty five percent of all fatal car crashes
caused by teens involve an underage drunk driver. Teenagers also have the lowest
rate of seat belt use, and seat belts are the most effective way of reducing accidents.
In addition, texting while driving is the number one cause of car accidents among
teenagers due to the development of social media. This causes teens to drive while
looking down at their phones, which can eventually put them in the hospital.
Therefore, raising the driving age to 21 will prevent teens from dying due to car
accidents the number one cause of teen deaths in 2013, according to the CDC Injury

17. Crilly, Inner Conflict In Cal By Bernard Maclaverty
Northern Ireland in the 1970 s was a dangerous time for everyone. The wrong
words spoken or certain actions being taken could get you burned out of your
house or killed. The book Cal by Bernard MacLaverty is set in this trying time and
explores the main character, Cal s, inner conflict. Like a devil and angel arguing
on his shoulder, Cal is being pulled between working with the Irish Republican
Army (IRA) and the love he has for a woman named Marcella. The devil in this
situation is a man by the name of Skeffington. Skeffington is a small, round faced
man with glasses. He passes information and assigns jobs to Cal and his friend,
Crilly, on behalf of the IRA. In his role as a voice of the IRA we find that he is the
antagonist of this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He rationalizes violence because in one hundred years, he believes, the free people
of Ireland will not look at the events taking place now and shudder; instead, they
will look at them and say people like Skeffington did what had to be done for the
sake of Ireland. Eventually going so far as to compare this to a squeaking chair
that eventually must be fixed. This juxtaposition of what seems to be a game of
life and death speaks volumes to his integrity. Skeffington is almost disillusioned
with the entire situation. He only tries to further his explanation by quoting a
poem and stating that it wasn t like 1916 in 1916 ; 1916 being a reference to the
Easter Rising when Irish Republicans revolted to end British rule (MacLaverty 66).
This statement displays that he has a warped sense of the actions he is taking, as if
he is at war, with no other option than to stand and fight. He may see himself as a
warrior but in reality it is easy to see that he is just using past violence to justify
current violence. All of this constructing the ideal he forces upon Cal, a character
whose primary trait is his indecisiveness. The most apparent insight into Skeffington
would be his experience with Bloody Sunday and, strangely enough, feet. Bloody
Sunday was an event that took place in 1972 in a town called Derry, where British
soldiers shot and killed 13 people. Skeffington was unlucky enough to be there and
witness everything. He talks about an old man
18. Bob And Bailey Essay
Bob and Marian Bailey are sometimes regarded as the best animal trainers in the
world. Through the use of operant conditioning, they were able to successfully train
thousands of individual animals in their lifetimes, as well as teaching what they knew
to others who also aspired to train animals. They were revolutionary in the training
world, influencing great names such as Karen Pryor, Terry Ryan, Susan Garrett, and
Jean Donaldson (just to name a few). They changed the way that animals were used
in television and movies, in governmental agencies, and in the ordinary household,

19. Raising the Awareness of the Psychological Immune System
Aside from instinctual actions, behaviors are largely driven by emotion, where
action can be driven by the emotional state at the time. In the same vein, individuals
are susceptible to being attached to a construct, whether it is a tangible object or
an idea, which then becomes detrimental in terms of rationality to their cognitive
behavior but it is not the sole factor for why and how an individual may act a
certain way. The surrounding environment is an important factor in how a certain
behavior may appear in an individual. A distinctive attribute or aspect of an
environment creates the inducement and encouragement to be engaged in a
particular kind of behavior; the incentive does not originate from a certain type of
individual, contrary to popular belief. Collectively, human beings are quick to
identify or react to slight changes, signals, or influences in their environment, and
it is due to this that they are easily provoked to partake in particular actions. The
perception of the world around a human being, the immediate environment, has an
enormous influence on the way that people may behave. Malcolm Gladwell, in his
essay of The Power of Context: Bernie Goetz and the Rise and Fall of New York
City Crime, expresses the idea of how an individual can easily get away with a crime
because of being manipulated by not only their emotions, but also their environment.
He discusses Goetz s feeling of embitterness due to his surroundings and events that

I think the most extraordinary organism is the Clione limacina, commonly referred
to as the Sea Angel . The Sea Angel is in the domain Eukarya. Clione limacina is in
the kingdom Animalia (Clione limacina). The phylum of the sea angel is Mollusca
(Clione limacina). Gastropoda is the class of the Clione limacina (Clione limacina).
The Sea Angel does not have a ranked order; it is unranked and fits in the clade

The Clione limacina s larvae are only about 0.15 millimeters long, and they only
grow to about 4 centimeters long (Hopcroft). Sea Angels are protandrous
hermaphrodites, which means that they start off as a male and then later on
become females (Hopcroft). Clione limacina reproduces by fusing a female gamete
from one limacina with a male gamete from another limacina, or cross fertilization
(Hopcroft). The Sea Angel will lie between 30 and 40 eggs in elongated and jelly
like strips that are about 1 to 1.2 millimeters long (Hopcroft). When the larvae of the
Clione limacina hatch they have a thimble shaped, curtain like membrane made out of
cilia surrounding their mouth (Hopcroft). As the Sea Angel grows into an adult the

21. Importance Of Canadian Literature
Studying Literature in Grade 12
In this essay, I will prove that graduating students in Ontario should only study
Canadian literature in a Grade 12 English course. While good writers exist in all
cultures, Ontario students should only study Canadian writers. Becoming more
familiar with our literature. Three reasons for this are; the need to focus on our own
Canadian culture despite being surrounded by other cultures: the need to promote and
establish our own writers, and the need to encourage younger Canadian authors.
I believe that students in Ontario taking English should only study Canadian literature
because we are completely swamped by the American culture around us. I think that
this is a Canadian tradition because we have always been a branch plant of another
country starting with England and France meaning that our own culture has never
had the chance to develop since we have always been under the thumb of a more
powerful foreign culture. So, for years, a student in Ontario would study Shakespeare
and other British writers, today they may also study American authors such as
Hemingway. But many schools limit a student s exposure to the Canadian novel to
ISP reading lists. In this sense, Canada is an attic in which we have stored American
and British literature without considering our own. 1 No wonder a Canadian student
has problems appreciating their culture.
Often what Canadian literature is studied is very old. This includes works such as

24. Populist Party Dbq
The late nineteenth century was a power struggle between the democratic and the
republicans parties of the United States. The struggle between these two parties
eventually led to the populist party s emergence. As a result of how the populist
party built trust and united certain people, this was evident by the combined effort of
individuals who have otherwise never united together before. The party rose to fame
with the advent of the them listening to the concern of the people. However, the party
saw its fame quickly dwindle during the election of 1896, with silver being the cause
of this downfall. With the dominance of the Democratic and Republicans in the
political landscape of the country at that time, people were under the impression...

The populists fed off of many different issues that led to their rise and impact, with
one of the main issues being the call for ownership of railroads for farmers which
will make it easier for farmers to go from their crop to the market but the thing is
that it has to be low cost (Eric foner, 653). With the party calling for low cost rails,
they gained the trust of the farmers, saving the process of going back and forth
which cost them large amounts of money. With the decrease in prices, the farmers
do not have to spend as much as they were before, which in result would grant them
the ability to be able to invest more in their crop. One of the other reasons the
populists rose to prominence was the fact that even though they were not as popular
on the national level, they were trying to unite black and white farmers on both
economic and political program (Eric foner, 654). With them even trying to unite
these two races it showed that they were listening to the people s problems. The main
reason the populist party collapsed was during the 1896 campaign of the nomination
of William Bryan for president with their program being reduced to free silver (Eric
foner, 657). When Bryan bringing up the prospects of free silver, the demise of their
party was eminent, since that was not a key aspect of what the populist party stood
25. Genetic And Non Genetic Factors
Genetic and non genetic basis
Genetic factors are relatively contributed about 50 % of the risk of the
pathogenesis of RA (Aho et al., 1986; MacGregor et al., 2000). MHC encoding
HLA DRB1 gene is one of greater risk posing allele responsible for the 1/3rd of
genetic basis (Deighton et al., 1989; Rigby et al., 1991). These alleles further
subdivided and defined by the presence or absence of Anti citrullinated protein
antibodies (ACPA), also termed as ACPA positive RA and ACPA negative RA
(Seegobin et al., 2014). ACPA positive RA more worsens the condition with severe
erosive damage (Silman and Pearson, 2002). However, the non genetic factors such

However, the production of Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMP) is also responsible for
the degradation of the extracellular matrix of synovium(Tan et al., 2006).
Mineral oil and Adjuvant
Mineral oils and adjuvant have the potential to directly activate the innate immune
system. Several studies have been conducted which proposed the relation between the
RA with the adjuvant (Maradit Kremers et al., 2005). The study also reported that
adjuvant like BCG found to cause arthritic symptoms during the course of
immunotherapy (Turesson, 2004).
Opportunistic Infections
Microbial organisms are also responsible for activating the macrophages and leads to
the development of the inflammatory mediators. However, inflammation caused by
the microbial infections include Shigella, Clostridium difficile, Salmonella
typhimurium, etc., called as Infectious Arthritis (Li et al., 2013).
2.7 Co morbidity condition associated with RA
Rheumatic disorders are frequently complicated by co existence of comorbidities.
Co morbidity is a medical condition that co exists with the disease such as RA. A
co morbid condition in RA influences the progression and severity of disease which
directly affects the quality of life, treatment of primary as well as secondary (Co
morbid) disease. There have been great chances arise due to the co morbid condition

Joe Namath, Dan Marino, and Joe Montana are all familiar names. What about Eli

what if Eli is far more than he is believed to be? Eli Manning may not be deemed an
elite quarterback by some, but he is actually one of the most unruffled and
composed quarterbacks in the league at decisive, game time moments. Eli
Manning was not always the tranquil, placid quarterback that we see today. He was
once a young child who was not engrossed in football or sports at all. Being seven

28. Traveling Through The Dark Analysis
Introduction to Poetry and Traveling Through the Dark, are poems written by Billy
Collins and William Stafford. The poem s, Introduction to Poetry , main conflict is a
teacher who tries to get his students to read and appreciate a poem, but what all the
students only care about is figuring out what it means. The conflict is highlighted
through the many uses of metaphors to help us understand how he wants the students
to look and decipher a poem and how they only focus on finding the meaning instead
of taking their time to listen and see the art of poetry. William Stafford s poem,
Traveling Through the Dark, describes a driver s dilemma of deciding whether to
throw a dead pregnant deer into the river, or leave it laying on the road where it can
cause an accident. In both poems, the use of literary devicessuch as metaphors,
personification, imagery, and diction are effective in making and building up the
conflict and reaching the resolution. The main conflict in the poem, Introduction to
Poetry , is that a teacher is troubled by his students not wanting to put effort into
understanding poetry. He uses metaphors and similes to explain how a poem should
be analyzed to be understood and appreciated and how the students want to
understand what the poem means without putting in the effort and mindset that go
into reading poetry. For example, the author says, and hold it up to the light like a
color side , which is a simile that explains how the teacher is comparing the

ntroduction:
In this project, we address the business needs of Mr.Smith s Bakery. This business
is a bakery that deals mostly with larger orders meant for parties, restaurants and
large events. The bakery is primary a business to business entity and customers call
ahead to place orders. These orders are generally a bulk order of a few products.
Although the bakery is fictitious, this sort of business exist and is very common
way to operate a bakery. With the hassle of trying to keep paper and Excel records on
multiple tabs and folders, an Access database was the ideal solution.
The business has four currently employees, including Mr.Smith. The product
categories is extensive but for the sake of the database, we only included a handful to
demonstrate that the database works and that the calculations are done accurately and
timely. Each product has a few ingredients that should be tracked so that Mr.Smith
knows how much of each ingredients are needed, giving the business a better
estimate of what is needed and if they can fulfill the orders.
The process of finding out the business rules, developing the database and solving the
problems is shown in greater detail in the following sections.
Project Background:
Mr.Smith s Bakery is not a real bakery that any of us are aware of. However,
producing large quantities of products as demanded by large customers is the ideal
way to run a large bakery. Running a business to business bakery is an efficient way

This play is full of dramatic irony for example in Mr Birlings speech, he speaks of
the titanic being unsinkable and world war one not happening, as this play was
written in 1945 the audience knew that the titanic had sank and world war one and
world war two had happened. This portrays that the way of thinking in 1912 was
that the world was improving and nothing would go wrong. Also in 1912 there was
a male dominated hierarchal society so men were more in charge and women like
Eva could be employed as cheap labour for business men an example of this is
when Mr Birling says there ll be peace and prosperity and rapid progress
everywhere this shows that there isn t peace and prosperity everywhere at this
time for example women being used as cheap labour. The secrets that the family
have kept from one another, over the period of time that the play is set, plays a big
part in creating drama and tension. For example, when it is discovered that Mr

As regards to the content of the document is, firstly, clearly a motivational speech to
encourage her soldiers to the battle against the Spanish Armada.
Apart from that, it is very important the way she chooses to do it, because she starts
letting the soldiers know that she is the one to trust and that she is willing to

The authenticity of the speech is sometimes at doubt by some historians. But there
are several components within the speech mirror the real personality of the Queen
herself, such as the strong mention of God as an ally of England or the reference to
her gender as well as her desire to rule as both King and Queen of England.
In mi opinion, the speech given by the Queen Elizabeth reflects a great personality
and strength as a public speaker, something not easy to achieve. It is thinkable that
the speech accomplished its mission of motivation and that her forces were to the
battle proudfull, given the powerful content of the same. In the text, she gives
herself the role of King and Queen at the same time. Elizabeth I was known as the
Virgin Queen for her refusal to marriage in all her life, which could proved, or at
least is what I think, a wish to keep her country safe from Crowns or Kings abroad,

with her own visit to the troops, taking care of them and trying to help motivating

36. The Threat Of Tigers And Starvation Essay
However, these thoughts are not useful to have and do not help us to survive the
threats of tigers and starvation. In an attempt to drive out thoughts of instability,
we begin to create abstractions upon the world that allow us to believe in stability.
One such example is language. We develop language to hold the meanings of
words and assume its apparent consistency and effectiveness are signs of stability.
However, these presuppositions of the stability of language based upon
effectiveness are unfounded. In fact, they may be one of the best examples of the
unstable mistaken for stable. III. View From Nowhere Only Reveals Empty
Tautologies We say 1+1=2. It is true 1+1 does equal 2. But what have we learned
from such an observation? We learned a shorthand, we can now call 1+1 by
another name 2 but that doesn t amount to the discovery of any new knowledge.
By the same means, the concepts of addition become trivial as it is just a way to
rename numbers by grouping the ones differently and calling it a different name.
Twoness doesn t really mean anything apart from 1+1 . Thus subtraction is the
same process in reverse, and multiplication is the same renaming process as if you
were to do the same addition multiple times... and suddenly basic arithmetic become
trivial. So yes, while we can have ideas that are objective and internally coherent,
they are mere trivial fabrications. Progression: Math Logic Language Thin vs Thick

course, analyze how diseases spread and how outbreaks affect countless
individuals in countless different countries. This topic relates directly to course
material as it encompasses many of the situations and ideas that have been
discussed such as, poverty, dying, environment, and social factors and how they
relate and coincide with disease. The country you reside in ultimately dictates the
technological advances that you have access to when dealing with stopping the
spread of diseases. Epidemics also can be considered by looking at poverty
because non industrialized countries have a harder time when it comes to dealing
with the spread of disease as they do not possess the tools that are used to prevent
spreading. We have studied how the overall development of the country where you
live can play a very important role in the assistance you receive as well as the level
of care. Thus, the next five articles consider how diseases are handled and dealt with
depending on the location of the country and whether or not it is an industrialized or
non industrialized.

39. Dance With Wolves Essay
Since the founding of America, Native Americans have been oppressed, victimized,
and have been seen as inferior. Various Native American tribes fought and resisted
the white man and his plans for taking over the land. However, they were no match
for the greater armies of white men in later years. One film was able to depict how
the issues of raceand culture has affected Native Americans in America. In Dances
with Wolves, a white veteran of the Civil War, John Dunbar, ventures to the
American frontier, where he encounters a tribe of Dakota (Sioux) Indians and
befriends them. Throughout the film, we see how a white man develops a
relationship with a band of Sioux Indians. Attracted by the simplicity of their
lifestyle, he chooses to leave his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When he arrives, he notices that white army, settlers have settled in the fort. John
is shot by some white men who mistake him for an Indian because of his attire. An
army sergeant tells him, You turned Indian didn t you! John asks why the army is
settled at the fort. The lieutenant said, We are in charged with apprehending hostiles
and recovering stolen property, retrieving white captives taken in hostile readings.
John argues that there are no hostiles (Dances 1990). This scene was very powerful
because of the film portrayed a white man who sympathized with the Native
Americas. He sees that the Sioux tribe are not savages or beggars. He sees a well
civilized group of people with a rich culture. However, the American army saw John
as a traitor for adapting the Indian culture. Native Americans had an intriguing culture
that was altered when the colonizers came and implemented their ideas and customs.
This film was a Hollywood production that seems unrealistic. A white man in the
1860s and 1870s would not have sided with the native population. They would have
had their stereotypes and preconceived notions about Indians. Nevertheless, this film
did bring to light how Native Americans were a well organized and advance group of
people who would be tragically exterminated in the future by the United States
40. The Characteristics Of Beethoven And The Emperor
Symphony
The String Quartet was dedicated to Joseph Haydn, who was Beethoven s teacher
These characteristics of the Hunt Quartet are found in the Emperor concerto,
especially in the 6/8 Finale, which uses solely triadic melodies based on the tonic and
dominant chords exclusively
In some ways, Haydn, with his Military Symphony and the great E flat symphony no
103, Drumroll , prepares the world for the arrival of Beethoven
The Emperor Concerto uses similar characteristics of the Military Symphony no
100, which include a slow introduction, dotted rhythms, trilled notes to add a
pervasive air of expectation, stops and rests to introduce the essential element of
silence, and a turn to the minor to foretell the forthcoming use of that mode to darken

Yes
In his early works, when Beethoven could hear the full range of frequencies, he made
use of higher notes in his compositions
As his hearing failed, he began to use the lower notes that he could hear more clearly
Works including the Moonlight Sonata, his only opera Fidelio and six symphonies
were written during this period
The high notes returned to his compositions towards the end of his life which
suggests he was hearing the works take shape in his imagination
E flat Major, the key of the Emperor concerto, is closely related to its relative C
minor, as they both share three flats in the key signature
A lot of scholars have explored the heroism of C minor, however I would argue the
fact that what applies to C minor can also be said of E flat
41. The Influence Of Gays In The Military
Introduction Our military is deeply rooted in history, and looking back, it is very
clear those who served in World War I and even World War II were successful
thanks to the laws then preventing females or homosexuals to serve their country in
combat. Since then, our military has made changes not only in how to conduct
combat operations, but who may serve, and more importantly who may see action
in the air and on the ground as first line defenders. During these early periods, our
military member s sleeping quarters were open bay, and the lavatories were also
open as well as the showers. Additionally, there was stereotyping occurring and men
were to go to combat and the women remained at home and cared for the family and
work in the factories to provide supplies to those in combat. Women and homosexuals
were able to serve their country, however, for women they were not allowed to fill
certain jobs due to the combat requirements of those jobs. On the other hand, men
who were homosexuals were serving in all areas and for both male and female
homosexuals, they could not identify or tell others their sexual preference, as they
would face punishment and then discharged from the military. Just within the past
few years, the removal of any Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) and
homosexual identity within the Department of Defense is now part of our military
history. Eliminating these inequalities within this elite organization continues to
make the United States
42. My Philosophy And Philosophy Of The Purpose Of
Education
Philosophy Of Education
PURPOSE OF EDUCATION
To me the purpose of education is ever changing the two people that holds the same
belife and purpose as I is John Dewy who states that
The purpose of education has always been to everyone, in essence, the same to give
the young the things they need in order to develop in an orderly, sequential way into
members of society. This was the purpose of the educationgiven to a little aboriginal
in the Australian bush before the coming of the white man. It was the purpose of the
education of youth in the golden age of Athens. It is the purpose of education today,
whether this education goes on in a one room school in the mountains of Tennessee
or in the most advanced, progressive school in a radical community. But to develop
into a member of society in the Australian bush had nothing in common with
developing into a member of society in ancient Greece, and still less with what is
needed today. Any education is, in its forms and methods, an outgrowth of the needs
of the society in which it exists. 1

43. What Is The Theme Of Mirror By Lucy Grealy And Body
Image
In Mirrors, Lucy Grealy describes her experience of having jaw cancer, its
treatments, and the resulting deformity of her face. At the early age of 9, Lucy
Grealy was diagnosed with jaw cancer. Because of this, she had to have a large
amount of her jaw surgically removed. Growing up, she was taunted by other
individuals around her for not having a beautiful face. Her facial deformity kept her
from having many friends and having a positive body image. Men ridiculed her as
she walked down the street, individuals stared at her in department stores, and
children during her school days would continuously make fun of her appearance.
Lucy Grealyeven pretended to live in dangerous places like Cambodia or Vietnam to

Numerous men feel the exact same way Lucy Grealy did about her appearance.
Just because they are men, does not mean they cannot be insecure about their own
bodies. The media has a large influence on how a person feels about his or her
appearance. Many individuals feel negatively about themselves after seeing the
media s version of ideal men and women. Grealy completely ignored the leading
cause of body disappointment. Millions of people suffer from having a negative
body image without having a facial deformity. Grealy judged women around her
as feeling happy with their appearance because they did not have a facial
deformity. When in reality, those women felt the exact same way Grealy did.
Eating disorders have a direct connection with having a negative body image. Lucy
Grealy completely disregarded the lengths people will go to appear attractive by
society s standards. Lucy Grealy would have made Mirrors more complete and
cohesive if she would have added these four
44. Bartleby The Scrivener Symbolism Essay
In Herman Melville`s fictional work Bartleby the Scrivener , he explores the idea of
spiritual death through a young man named Bartleby. He shows how someone`s state
of mind can change their whole life. By using motif, symbolism, setting, and
characterization Melville proves that men can experience spiritual death due to their
failure to break through barriers built the pressures of social conformity. In the story
Melville uses the maximum security institution as an example of a lonely place
looking upon the confining institution of life (Hoffman 3). By using symbolism and
setting, Melville shows how Bartleby s surroundings affected his life in a such a

The reader can begin to see Bartleby`s soul dying when he begins to prefer not to
do anything (Melville 11). When the narrator asked Bartleby where [he was] born
Bartleby replied that [he[ would prefer not to so it show us that Bartleby is a very
private person (11). Bartleby is someone who nothing of this sort (a biography) can
be done because he never opened up to anyone (1). The narrator begins to think
that if it was anyone would have said that he would have flown outright into a
dreadful passion , but he realizes something about Bartleby [disarmed him] but
also in a wonderful manner touched and disconcerted [him] , which shows he
thought a lot about Bartleby. The narrator describes Bartleby as a subordinate
clerk when he worked at the Dead Letter Office so we know that Bartleby is a kind
respectable person. When the narrator goes to look for Bartleby someone describes
him as the silent man due to his passive resistance to do anything people want him
to do (21). The narrator soon begins to see Bartleby as a spirit whom has overall
laid melancholy over the area after a while so he decides to leave Bartleby which is
when he losses his last little bit of faith in humanity (Friedman 54). The narrator tells
us that Bartleby had been removed from the Dead Letter Office because of a change
in administration
45. Marketing Analysis of Washburn Guitar
Case Study of Washburn Guitars: How Much Is the Maya Worth? Introduction
Background of Washburn guitar: Some stories demand to be told. Others are simply
content on being heard. Hearing through music, through lyrics, through a cultural
revolution, this is the story of Washburn Guitars. (the history of Washburn, 2009)
The Washburn guitar company started making guitars in 1883 in Chicago. The
factory would later be involved and located near a musical movement in Chicago in
the 1920s. The history of Washburn Guitars is the history of a wide range of
musicians, from blues players to emerging guitar virtuosos. It is a history that can be

Washburn really went above and beyond to make sure my guitars are to my exact
specifications. says Donegan. (Kurtz amp; L, 2008) Washburn is always making
huge effort on its product by concentrating on every detail from the material to a
single screw. Moreover, Washburn emphasis a lot on its high quality and brand
image, regarding them as the key components in their advertisements. Therefore,
on the one hand, Washburn guitar is completely in a non price competition, for its
quality oriented image. On the other hand, non price competition does not mean
totally ignoring the price factor. As Gil Vasquez, the product manager put We
track quality and costs for everything in our production process to maximize the
price and minimize the price... (Kurtz amp; L, 2008) So Washburn takes the cost
and price of its products into its consideration as well, and they are promise to give
customers the finest quality at the best price. This is a reflection of Washburn is
also taking part in the price competition by the ways of cutting its cost as possible
as they can. Another reason to say why Washburn is also in price war is the fact that
they come up with the low priced guitar, which aims to satisfy different guitar users
needs, but it turns out to be Washburn does this at the expense of their company s
image. Question 2: why does Kevin Lello say that the demand for good guitars is
46. Outliers, By Malcolm Gladwell
Outliers, a statistical observation that is markedly different in value from the
others of the sample. This basically states that anything that lies outside of the
norm is an outlier. In the book Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell he focuses on the
different set of skills, timing, background, and effort a successful person needs to
have in order to become successful. Unlike most books or biographies that write
about the intelligence and ambition of an individual, this book looks around the
individuals, instead of directly at them. Gladwell look at the outliers of these
individuals, and determines how they have become successful, either by their
skill, their luck, their effort, and their whole background and what lies around
them. Gladwell had several ideas he had based people s successes on, one of
which were their skills. He focused on whether a person was capable of being
successful in their career path. Not just their IQ, or their ability to perform a task
well, but whether their social skills were also capable or not. Gladwell states that it
is not possible to make it far alone, so he would check to see if an individual wasn t
an awkward loner who excelled in only academically. Gladwell would not only
look at SAT scores and how well they did in school, but look at how creative or
innovative an individual was. Another concept that Gladwell looked at was the
timing of their birth, or the importance of their birth. Gladwell was able to look at
the trends and how well one was
