Notes On Credit Rating Agencies
Literature review:
Dror Pranes (2008) said that the participants of the market have a divergent expectation. But they can
be classified as optimistic or pessimistic based on set of knowledge. He also argues that the credit
rating announcement does not give any undisclosed information to the investors or the market. It only
attempts to homogenize the investor s belief.
According to Adelson (2012) credit rating plays a vital role in providing an independent opinion about
the creditworthiness of the issuer and bridging the gap between lenders and borrowers. Lazarescu
(2003) says standardising the value judgement in relation to borrowers in the current scenario of
globalisation is contributed by credit rating agency.
De Haan and Amtenbrink(2011) argued that there are flaws in the use of credit rating agencies
judgement in regulation and accounting. The agencies have a substantial impact on the bonds and their
interest. But when the bond is downgraded it is harmful. There will be herd behaviour among
investors trying to liquidate investment. Additionally Mathis (2009) said that the construction of issuer
pays is a critical problem which may result in conflict of interest. This will make the issuers to shop
the ratings. They will go for the rating agency that provides the most favourable rating.
Journal of common market studies (2012) explains that the rating agencies suffer from shortcomings.
The rating agencies maintain transparency about the data sources and the indicators.

Robert Zieger s For Jobs And Freedom
Robert Zieger s For Jobs and Freedom Race and Labor In America Since 1865 is laid out as a
scholarly historical look at how race has effected freedom and the labor market for blacks in America
since the late 19th century. While Zieger presents the material in a scholarly manner and is careful to
look at issues from more than one paradigm; I feel that his voice is often lost in this careful
presentation of both sides of the coin. Aside from obviously being pro union Robert Zieger only takes
a personal stand a once in his book For Jobs and Freedom; the onetime Zieger s voice is heard he
speaks in opposition to the Accomodationists ideals of Booker T and Villard who urged young blacks
to accept their station and apply themselves diligently to become the best farmer, domestic servant, or
ditch digger that they could possibly be. Another critic of the book raised in class by Professor Bloom
was that Zieger only focuses on one form of racism, white supremacy. In my paper I will briefly
discuss some of the social and economic changes that forced the rearticulation of the relationship
between black workers and white capital near the turn of the century. I will also highlight Zieger s
argument that organized labor near the turn of the century failed black workers with their actions
while maintaining a rhetoric of egalitarian principles towards black workers. Zieger s practical agenda
is to shine a light on racism and help facilitate its end by educating through a lens of

Slope Analysis Essay
Slope analysis from DEM Following steps are adopted while calculating slope maps in percentages
and in degrees a) Created a segment map with a value domain (created a value domain Height).
Digitized the contour lines and gave the contour lines the height value they represent. b) Created an
interpolated height map from segment contour lines opened the Operations menu in the main window,
chose Interpolation, and then chose Contour Interpolation. The output map is a Digital Elevation
Model. c) Calculated height differences in X direction: start the Filter operation, selected the Digital
Elevation Model as the input map and selected linear filter dfdx. Called the output map as DX. d)

The new value is obtained by applying a certain function to each input pixel and its direct neighbors.
These neighbors are usually the 8 adjacent pixels (in a 3 x 3 filter) or the 24 surrounding pixels (in a 5
x 5 filter). Filtering was used to derive slope shape map as follows DFDX Detects slope differences in
x direction. Positive values in the output map means that the terrain goes up from left to right (West to
East); negative values in the output means the terrain goes down. DFDY Detects slope differences in y
direction. Positive values in the output map means that the terrain goes up from bottom to top (South
to North); negative values means that terrain goes down. D2FDX2 Detects slope shape differences in
x direction (second derivative). Positive values in the output map means that the terrain is concave in
x direction; negative values means that the terrain is

Essay on Comparing Two Advertisements
In this essay I have chosen to compare two adverts. I chose two from a magazine called VOGUE , I
chose them as they both were linked by the theme of fashion but were advertising different products,
this will help me show differences between the adverts but the fashion theme will help me to also
highlight similarities. The first advert I chose was by a company called Garrard they make fashion
accessories such as leather accessories, silverware and also jewellery which is what they are mainly
known for. The advert I chose has specifically advertised jewellery in this case a ring and a necklace.
On face value the advert has a ring and a necklace laid on a picture of a of the U.K flag. Part of both
pieces of jewellery look like wings and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rock and punk element that surrounds Mick and Jade Jagger is again emphasised with the words
Rock Hard written across the advert. This implies that whoever wears this will look rock hard and
strong so the product instantly conveys an image of strength so would appeal to anybody who would
like that image. Also the word Rock obviously relates again to Mick Jagger s music again reminding
you that Mick Jaggers s daughter is designing the jewellery. The word Rock also brings images of
partying and the word Hard could convey that whoever wears this is the type of person to party Hard .
Again this would appeal to anybody who wants to have this image. The skulls on the necklace repeat
this Rock image of the necklace as skulls are associated with rock music and being wild. The necklace
and ring have a large wing on them this again emphasises partying as the symbol is loud. The wings
also give the impression that somebody is free and original so people would buy this to have an image
of being a free spirit and being original. Being original is important into today s fashion circles so this
aspect of the advert raises the chances of viewers buying these pieces of jewellery. Other aspects of
the advert relate more towards the brand for instance the word Garrard in bold lettering reiterates who
is making this jewellery and the three hall marks highlight a sign of

Essay on Genetics Are the Main Cause of Psychopathy
One of the things about these kids is that they don t pay attention to the deep emotions or the deep
concerns of other people. They can just look at it in the face and go whatever and move on. (Malcolm)
Whereas some may argue that psychopaths are developed more from their environment, the
characteristic traits and neurological data prove genetics are the main cause of psychopathy.
Psychopathy is a personality disorder characterized by a constellation of interpersonal, affective and
behavioral characteristics. (Harc, 1998) There are many personality traits that accompany those who
are considered to be a psychopath. High levels of aggression or delinquency, and antisocial behaviors
are all seen in youth with personalities correlating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subsequent studies in youth with conduct disorder show that the parents socialization with their
children has less of an affect upon the development of conduct problems, suggesting more genetic
significance in youth who are notably callous. (Dolan). Mental retardation, lower intelligence and
inability to learn basic communication and language skills have been reported in youth considered
psychopathic. Also reported is the severe psychopathy occurring from the youths parents. These
parents have issues such as extreme maladjustment, chronic alcoholism, and many incarcerations for
criminal acts. (Bezdjian). In order to confirm, tests have been made to assess psychopathic traits in
youth. These tests have been recreated from the adult versions. The psychopathy checklist is a scale
test used for youth ages thirteen to eighteen, it has the same factor structure as the adult PCL R test
from which it was created and focuses on interpersonal aspects of personality and chronic antisocial
structure. The psychopathy screening device is used for youth ages six to twelve, and is completed by
teachers or parents for validity reasons. The most widely used test is the youth psychopathic traits
inventory, which is a self report of fifty items which focus on core personality correlations of youth
and psychopaths. (Dolan).
Now researchers are focusing more on theories of the neurobiological basis of psychopathy. The two

The Science Of Science Is Not Always Stable, It Is...
Scientific instability Science is not always stable, it is constantly changing and becoming true and
leaving behind the old ideas. Science requires intuitive minds and opinions to continue its testing to
assure correctness is achieved. In the 1400s it was still believed that the Earth was the center of the
universe but, Nicolaus Copernicus an astronomer and mathematician, developed a model in which the
sun was the center rather than the Earth. This lead to future findings that in fact it was the Sun and not
the Earth in the center. Galileo Galilei, who was influenced by Copernicus, played a major role during
the Renaissance s scientific revolution. His findings came during the late 1500s and one of his major
quotes states, All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.
These were all important and led to the future which is now and allows us to understand the world
better. Johannes Kepler, was a German unlike most of the one s we study he was a mathematician,
astronomer and astrologer during the 1600s. He is widely known for his laws of planetary motion.
These discoveries and an apple brought Isaac Newton to discover gravity and its purpose. Newton was
a mathematician and physicist during the early 1700s. Albert Einstein, perhaps one of the most known
for scientific discovery such as the atomic bomb. He was a German theoretical physicist who
developed the theory of relativity which really shaped modern physics. His findings

Renewable And Alternative Energy Policies
When discussing renewable or alternative energy policies, common ideas such as more solar and wind
come to mind foremost without or with little thought when you hear renewable or alternative energies.
However, policies for these can be quite alarming to someone who does not work or study the field.
With Pennsylvania deregulating their the electricity sector in late 1996, alternative energies were
certainly not the first thing when it came to their minds when trying to reduce their ever increasing
electricity bills. Deregulation brought many ways for Pennsylvania to reduce costs, with still many
more questions to be answered and in 2004, when the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act was
passed, it was not just up to the Pennsylvania ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However it is not until 2007 where AEPS s timetable for the next fifteen years for a progression to hit
their desired targets for renewable energies (State Impact). As it stands, PUC s standards involve
roughly an eighteen percent alternative energy resources by the year 2020 2021 (DSIRE). In that
eighteen percent, eight percent should be comprised of tier one energies, which includes solar, wind,
biomass, anaerobic decomposition, geothermal, ocean, fuel cells powered through renewables, small
hydro, poultry litter incineration facilities, waste to energy facilities (Energy.Gov) and ten percent to
be tier two energy usually, black liquor, blast furnace gas, distribution generation, hydro, municipal
solid waste, other caste, waste coal, waste heat, wood/wood wastes solids (PUC 2013 Annual Report).
Now standards and compliance are just numbers, and not truly indicative of Pennsylvania s utility
companies can keep up with them. In PUC s 2013 annual report, all standards are in compliance to
their requirements for the 2013 year (PUC 4). That means of the seventeen qualified generating
facilities, each are in compliance to their quarterly adjustments towards the goal of 18% alternative
energies. For those adjustments, PUC uses the formula:
Non solar PV Tier I % = New Tier I MWh generation/Electric Distribution Companies (EDC) and

Love In A Pot Of Salsa Short Story
Love in a Pot of Salsa
I love to travel, but for me, it s not about going on vacation. My family doesn t just flock to a tourist
site. We choose to stay with a local family or in a small town inn where for the most part, no one
speaks English. And we are there not to lie on a beach or descend upon the most popular tourist spot,
but to savor a new culture, and through the friendships we form, add new colors to our hearts and
spirits. This is the story of how I learned about love in a pot of salsa.
When I was twelve, my family of amateur chefs decided to adventure to Tlaxcala, Mexico, a town
famous for Pueblan cooking, a blend of pre Hispanic, Spanish, French, and Lebanese influences.
Pueblan cooking s most famous dishes include mole poblano (a rich chili chocolate sauce smothered
over tender chicken that features more than thirty ingredientes), chiles en nogada (poblano chiles filled
with roast meat, fruit, and spices, then topped with a walnut cream sauce and scarlet pomegranate
seeds to resemble the three colors of the Mexican flag), and molotes (a fist sized golden cornmeal
pastry filled with beef brisket), to name a few delicious dishes.
We stayed with Jon and Estella, a beaming couple in their late sixties. They housed us in their adobe
castle, which was surrounded by a brick wall carpeted in a profusion of crimson bougainvillea. In the
early morning, you stepped outside to inhale the sight of La Malinche, Tlaxcala s snow covered
volcano steaming in the crisp air. And

Thank Bob Dylan With The Nobel Prize
December 20, 2016
Dear Nobel Prize committee,
The Nobel Prize for Literature is an outstanding prize that honors extraordinary people for their works
in literature. It honors people that have changed literature. On October 13, 2016 you awarded Bob
Dylan with the Nobel Prize in Literature. This marks him as the first musician ever to win this prize.
Many people agree with your decision, while others are not delighted with this fact. I agree with the
committee to honoring Bob Dylan with the Nobel Prize in literature for having created new poetic
expressions within the great American song tradition.
Bob Dylan was born as Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. While
growing up, Bob was influenced by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Little Richard. He was also in
a few bands while growing up. While he was in college he began performing folk and country music
at local cafes under the name Bob Dillon. In 1960, he dropped out of college and moved to New York.
In New York, Bob met his idol Woody Guthrie and visited him regularly and became great friends
with him. In 1961, he signed his first recording contract at Columbia Records and became one of the
most original influential voices in the history of American popular music. Throughout his lifetime he s
been awarded with Grammy s, Academy and Golden Globe awards. In 2012, he received the
Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama. Bob Dylan wrote music based on

Your Right to a Fair Birth
Many people enjoy the idea of planning events before they happen. Whether it s going on vacation,
getting family together for the holidays or planning the arrival of a newborn child;. The natural way
for a baby to be born is through the mother s birth canal and vagina. But, sometimes vaginal birth isn t
possible. More than ever, woman are opting to schedule childbirth electively, even though there can be
serious risks and implications involved. Many who choose an elective childbirth, do have a legitimate
reason as to why they made that decision. Center for Disease Control and Prevention recently reported
that, cesarean deliveries reached a record high of 32.9 percent out of all births in the United States

Jain, 2009, para. 7). Obstetric based or maternal based reasons need to be discussed honestly between
the patient and physician carefully.
Often feeling the pressure of family and the uncertainty of the baby s arrival can be a motivating
factor toward choosing a planned birth. The mode of delivery in many ways can be up to the
discretion of a physician, more so because the medical community s fear of litigation even so
Obstetric nurses are 10 times more likely to be in the courts as oppose to non obstetric nurses(Sibbald,
2003, para. 3). The advantages of performing a ECS is having the patients preferred healthcare
provider available and greater ease of balancing staffing levels with clinical volume (Salim Shalev,
2010, p. 4). Ultimately, avoiding patient morbidity and fatigue with the healthcare team can contribute
to a positive outcome. Although, scheduling birth based on timing and convenience can be a
motivating factor for CDMR. It s been shown that respiratory morbidity in Elective Cesarean section
is inversely related to gestational age at the time of ECS (Ramachandrappa Jain, 2009, para. 9). With

ancient river valley civilizations started the first cradle of civilization. The Indus Valley Civilization,
Ancient Egypt, Ancient Mesopotamia, and Ancient China are the earliest civilizations that were

things in common: they all had a special relationship with the river, they created their own writing

All river valley civilizations relied on the river that was near them. The snow from the mountains in

systems were developed for recording data and information. The Indus script used signs and words
and it was written from right to left. By 1800 BCE, the Indus valley civilizations started to fall and
writing were often used anymore. Ancient Egyptians started to developed a writing system called,
hieroglyphics because they needed a way to record important information. They believed that
recording data and communicate information about government and religion was essential. Scribes
were only ones to write in hieroglyphics and were written from left to right or top to bottom. In
Mesopotamia, people started developing a writing system to information. Mesopotamia created a

Pretty Essay
This video shows the reunion of a Belgian Malinois Pretty and her previous trainer, and friend being
reintroduced after a year or more of separation. The video is rather short but the response from Pretty
when she lays her eyes on Bryan is remarkable. Pretty, immediately recognizes Bryan and runs too
him and jumps on him overjoyed to see him once again. This video takes place outside somewhere
and pretty is being led by a young woman to Bryan as soon as Pretty recognizes her wanting for her,
she immediately responds abundant jovialness. In fact, Pretty clings to Bryan for almost the entire

Nano seconds, well she is a Malinois. Everything is fast. Aw, so sweet Anyhow, after reading the

time she had been in heat was when she was with Bryan. It maybe that she was suffering from
depression being separated from Bryan, but that is of course my speculation. Anyhow, in my opinion,
this is the best example of social awareness and intelligence recognizing and showing love for
someone you missed. You can tell she loves him since she is standing upright embracing and
vigorously wagging her tail. In addition to that, she is panting heavily showing extreme excitement
about finally being reunited with Bryan. The main reason I choose this video was that is showed
remembrance and pleasure upon seeing somebody who they had missed and had nothing to do with
training. Numerous videos that show the dogs, putting up laundry and following an owners gaze to a
toy, is most likely the product of training. However, a greeting like Pretty is subtle evidence of social

Biodiversity, Or Biological Diversity
Introduction: Biodiversity, or biological diversity, is a term first coined in 1985 by Walter G. Rosen
concerning the number of species in a particular habitat and revolved around the idea that diversity
cannot solely be understood through numbers (Maclaurin and Sterelny, 2012). However, before 1985
biodiversity was related to concepts of genetic diversity and ecological diversity . This allowed to
further define ecological diversity with species richness as the number of species in a community of
organism . Biodiversity is more than just the amount of species in an area but rather better measured
by taxic measures, molecular measures, and phylogenetic measures (Harper and Hawksworth, 1994).
Today, zoologists have estimated that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our method of capture was the pitfall trap (digging a hole in the ground and placing a cup) that was
filled with isopropyl alcohol. The independent variables for this experiment included location (habitat
1 vs habitat 2) and sun vs shade. The way biodiversity was measured through the arthropod collection
project by primarily using statistics including the sum of individual specimens, the sum of taxa, and
evenness. The sum of individual specimens allows for the depiction of abundance. The sum of taxa is
better known through richness or more specifically how common a certain arthropod is. Lastly, using
the Burger Parker index, evenness is the lack of dominance which is known as 1/Pm (UNO
Department of Biological Sciences,1999).
Methods:
This experiment was conducted in New Orleans and Kenner, Louisiana which are located in Orleans
and Jefferson Parish, however, Kenner is more suburban rather than city. Conducting this experiment
required setting out eight pitfall traps (four in each habitat) which were labelled cups one through
eight. This experiment was conducted over the time frame of three weeks in order to collect
approximately 100 200 arthropods. Every day for three weeks, cups (pitfall traps) were placed in two
different habitats (Kenner and New Orleans) and put out every morning and picked up every night.

The breakdown of the meaning neurocognitive is the neural processes and structures involved in
mental action and the acquiring of knowledge and understanding throughout an experience. Now add

that gradually worsens over time. This creates the disease recognized today as the Neurocognitive

Most patients diagnosed with Neurocognitive disorder due to Alzheimer s live approximately ten years
but there are very few that have lived for 20 years (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Major or
mild Neurocognitive disorder due to Alzheimer s has brief plateaus from severe dementia to death.
The process starts with the status of mild Neurocognitive disorder due to Alzheimer s and
progressively declines until it reaches the major Neurocognitive disorder due to Alzheimer s status
(American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Early onset symptoms of this disease usually is causative
mutations that are usually found in the fifth and sixth decades (American Psychiatric Association,

would most likely be death by aspiration. If diagnosed at a younger age there is a greater chance of

for older individuals they might have other comorbidities or mixed pathology that will cause or play a

Effects of Temperature, Ph, Enzyme Concentration, and...
Effects of Temperature, pH, Enzyme Concentration, and Substrate Concentration on Enzymatic
Activity
INTRODUCTION
Enzymes, proteins that act as catalysts, are the most important type of protein[1]. Catalysts speed up
chemical reactions and can go without being used up or changed [3] Without enzymes, the
biochemical reactions that take place will react too slowly to keep up with the metabolic needs and the
life functions of organisms. Catecholase is a reaction between oxygen and catechol [2]. In the
presence of oxygen, the removal of two hydrogen atoms oxidizes the compound catechol, as a result
of the formation of water [2]. Oxygen is reduced by the addition of two hydrogen atoms, which also
forms water, after catechol is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hypothesis is as the substrate concentration has an increase so will the reaction of velocity if the
amount of enzyme is kept constant.
MATERIALS AND METHODS To study the effects of temperature, pH, enzyme concentration, and
substrate concentration there were certain steps that were followed in order to conduct this
experiment. Each factor had a separate procedure to follow to find how each had a different effect on
the enzyme.
To find the effect of temperature on the activity of an enzyme, the experiment deals with the steps as
follows. First, 3 mL if pH 7 phosphate buffer was used to fill three different test tubes that were
labeled 10, 24, and 50. These three test tubes were set in three different temperature settings. The first
test tube was placed in an ice water bath for ten minutes until it reached a temperature of 2Ā° C or less.
The second tube s temperature setting was at room temperature until a temperature of 21Ā°C was
reached. The third tube was placed in a beaker of warm water until the contents of the beaker reached
a temperature setting of 60Ā° C. There were four more test tubes that were included in the procedure.
Two of the test tubes contained potato juice were one was put in ice and the other was placed in warm
water. The other two test tubes contained catechol. One test tube was put in ice and the other in warm
water. After

The Pros And Cons Of Slavery In America
Sectional Conflict Intensifies
The year was 1848. American forces had taken over Mexico city, and the leaders of the Mexican Army
had just signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. America had won the war with Mexico (The
American Vision 311). Everything seemed to be going great in the new union; however, as more and
more states entered, many different leaders had different opinions about a problem that had been
boiling up for a while slavery. More specifically what states would be allowed to have slaves and in
what states slaves would still be permitted. Both the North and South argued vigorously for their side
of the argument. All the while, then President James K. Polk saw no trouble. Polk believed that people
in the new territories that had been won over from Mexico wouldn t need to argue over the issue of
slavery because the dry climate of the southwest would not support the kinds of farming that made
slavery valuable (The American Vision 321), but he was very wrong.
In 1846, a Democratic Representative by the name of David Wilmot, proposed an amendment known
as the Wilmot Proviso. In this amendment he stated that any territory that the United States gained
from Mexico should enter the Union and Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall ever exist.
(The American Vision 321). This outraged the Southerners. They were afraid that a ban of slavery in
the territories would cause questions to arise about slavery in all states in general. To counteract the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Landlords
For many people a property is more than a place to live. It is the start of a whole new lifestyle and

In areas with year round appeal, like the Cotswolds, or big tourist cities such as Edinburgh, Bath or
Stratford upon Avon, occupancy rates are likely to be higher (see case study below.) However,
properties near beach resorts may attract very high prices during the summer, but stand empty for

Rational Choice Theory Of Crime
Generally speaking, there is a strong need for theory when shaping criminal justice policies and
practices. As mentioned in this week s materials theories can assist with developing explanations
and/or ideas about criminal activity, such as, the factors that caused the offender to commit the crime,
how to prevent the offender and others from committing more crime, or the most effective
punishments. Without the presence of theories all policies and practices put into place would lack
verification of effectiveness and need (Blokar, 2015). In our readings, various theories on the
effectiveness of punishment were either verified or unsupported at some point in time over the past
three centuries. From my understanding of the reading Beccaria s belief that certainty is the most
important piece of punishment, even when compared to severity , (Cullen, Agnew, Wilcox, 2014)
counts as one of those verified factors when addressing punishment in our criminal justice system. ...

While Cornish and Clarkes version of the rational choice theory brought to surface the effect
situational factors had on rational choice that earlier rational choice theorist did not think address. This

attitudes towards crime) influenced an individuals rational choice to participate or not participate in
criminal behavior (Cullen, Agnew, Wilcox, 2014). The presence of certain situational factors could
change the severity or type of punishment given to an offender. These two examples of theories sheds

How I Formed My Leadership Philosophy
Subj: PESONAL LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY
1. How I formed my leadership philosophy: throughout my career I have worked for many different
styles of leaders who all had a different style of leadership. They also had individual ways to deliver
their message; these leaders are what helped me create my personal leadership philosophy and style.
2. Situational leadership, it s the term I use to describe the style of leadership I have developed over
my career. To me this means that each individual is motivated differently and each situation may
require a different approach to reach the required goal. My first Officer in Charge in the Coast Guard

The Geneva Conventions And Utilitarianism
The Geneva Conventions embody strongly felt humanitarian ideals which is the main source of their
legitimacy. These treaties allow the international community to work together and agree on certain

international relations. These treaties embody the commonly felt humanitarian ideals of the majority
of the world, which proves that the international community can work together and agree on human

Network-Based Network Essay
1. Introduction
As the number of modules in Systems on Chip (SoCs) increases, bus based interconnection
architectures may prevent these systems to meet the performance required by many applications. For
systems with intensive parallel communicat ion requirements buses may not provide the required
bandwidth, latency, and power consumption. A solution for such a communication bottleneck is the
use of an embedded switching network, called Network on Chip (NoC), to interconnect the modules in
SoCs. NoCs design space is considerably larger when compared to a bus based solution, as different
routing and arbitration strategies can be implemented as well as different organizations of the
communication infrastructure.
A network on chip is composed of three main building blocks. The first and most important one are
the links that physically connect the nodes and actually implement the communication. The second
block is the router, which implements the communication protocol. The last building block is the
network adapter (NA) or network interface (NI). This block makes the logic connection between the
cores and the network, since each core may have a distinct interface protocol with respect to the
network.
A communication link is composed of a set of wires and connects two routers in the network. Links
may consist of one or more logical or physical channels and each channel is composed of a set of
wires. A NoC link has two physical channels making a full duplex connection between

With the transition of a new President and Administration one can only think of how our economy will
be in the next four years. America is a melting plot therefore we are not always going to agree on

construction for roads while others support a less involved government. We have seen in the past that
when there s a high level of government spending our economy blooms. We can benefit from this
because we have more move to spend and put back into the economy.

We have to have some type involvement from the government. I the 2016 election outcome came due
to the fact that a lot of people felt like President Obama and his administration implicated too many
policies that increase government spending. Such policies geared towards health care reform and
income inequality. All in which increased taxes for each individual. I think a lot of people feel like the
last eight years of government spending cost the tax payers a lot of unnecessary money. People were

Of that $3.7 trillion, over $3.2 trillion was financed by federal revenues. The remaining amount ($438

Assignment: Question one, essay on Merlin

The purpose of this essay is to investigate future pricing policy for Merlin for the tower. A brief review
of Merlin s management of the Blackpool Tower will be highlighted, and then using economic tools of
analysis, it will clarify the concept of pricing discrimination and how companies use prices to attract
certain kinds of customer. Followed by, the use of price and attendance data from other attractions,
such as Camelot and Alton Towers to support the argument. Finally the essay will come to a
conclusion.

This should also bring supplementary visitor spending of Ā£36 million and create up to new 1,000 jobs

It is recommended a bit of both first and third pricing discrimination for Merlin. It is recommended
that prices be raised, overall, as the service offering is improved. Recommending discounts for family
groups, senior citizens, the disabled, and college students. Under prior management, entrance to the
tower was priced at Ā£17 for adults, Ā£14 for seniors and children payable at the door, with a Ā£3 discount

By recommending, as averred above, a very aggressive price discrimination strategy for Merlin s as
part of its pricing strategy for this project, and as a means to differentiate the theme park s offerings

changes. Rival Camelot currently charges Ā£24 for adults entry to its theme park, the same price for

Political Parties And The Uk
What is the purpose of political parties in the UK?
The purpose of political parties in the UK is to ensure political choice for example choosing different
leaders, ideas and policies. Another purpose that political parties in the UK attempt to ensure that will
be covered during this essay is political participation as parties are a way to be involved in the process
without other than voting. Parties also have a similar recruitment to that of the PM this means that
parties are like training roles. Parties also have several functions in the UK such as a direct channel of
communication between leaders and supporters this purpose is very valuable when party leaders
attempt to get views and policies across. They also provide accountability because they show who is
in charge of the parties this helps the voters and supporters understand who is in control. I will look
into these points as a way to show the purpose of political parties and look to further on these points in
detail and describe in depth.
A main purpose of political parties in the UK is political choice which means that political parties
enforce the ability to choose between various leaders, ideas and policies. This is in turn influences the
backbone of the political parties and therefore shapes the future of them without political choice
parties would be run not by the people the public want but by people placed into these roles. This in
turn without choice would mean the public might be against the people in

that each state was independent and guaranteed slavery in Confederate areas. It also banned the import
of slaves from outside countries and protective tariffs. The constitution also limited the president s
terms to only six years. Jefferson Davis, a former senator from Mississippi, was elected president of
the confederate States of America (The American Vision 304 307). The Civil War started because of
Lincoln s plan to resupply Fort Sumter. Davis decided he would capture Fort Sumter before the supply
could reach the area. A note was sent to the fort s commander, Major Robert Anderson, to surrender by

Investors are more likely to invest in this type of entity due to its protection, and easy acquisition of

prices (Malpezzi, 2003). In this study, we deal with additional two statistical issues such as
endogeneity between land use and housing price and spatial autocorrelation between housing prices.
First, endogeneity should be carefully accounted for when measuring the effect of land use on housing
prices because a simultaneous relationship between land use and housing prices exists. For example,
better accessibility or high levels of mixed land use increase housing prices because such land use
features bring about more activities firms are encouraged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this approach cannot deal with spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. Previous
studies have demonstrated that housing prices can be spatially affected by neighboring housing prices
or unobserved neighboring factors. If we do not control for the spatial autocorrelation, the estimated
values can be biased and inefficient (Anselin, 1988). In order to account for the issue, we use
generalized spatial two stage least square (GS2SLS) model that accounts for the endogeneity and
spatial autocorrelation together, which is expressed as the following equations;
P=Ī»WP+Ī±L Ģ‚+Ī²X+u (5) u=ĻWu+Ļµ Because the hedonic price model generally uses a log form of
housing prices, our final empirical model used in this study is expressed as the following equations;
lnā”
(P)=Ī»W[ln(P)]+Ī±L Ģ‚+Ī²X+u (6) u=ĻWu+Ļµ 4.2. Spatial Weight Matrix
A spatial weight matrix presents the pairwise spatial relationship between two any spatial units. It has
two different types such as contiguity based weight matrix and distance based weight matrix.
Although it can be chosen by researcher s judgement, distance based weight matrix is more
appropriate when the size of spatial units is irregular (e.g., in the case of census tracts). Hence, the
spatial weight matrix used in this analysis is expressed as the follows;
W_ij={ā– (1 if d_ijā‰¤C @0 if d_ij C or i=j)ā”¤ (7)
where C denotes a distance cutoff

Social Media Has Become An Essential Part Of Our Lives
In today s society social media has become an essential part of our lives. We check our accounts every
chance we get regardless of where we are at. Everyone is a victim of social media as it is not only part
of the American culture but is also seen worldwide. One big component that makes social media into
the giant it is today are viral videos. New viral videos often come up on a daily basis especially on
platforms such as twitter in which they cover a range of topics such as a funny target ad to a kid on the
streets of New York with an amazing ability of creating a beat with a couple of old pots and pans and a
pair of drumsticks. There are a countless amount of great videos that have come from going viral, but
there are also those that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In today s society this media becomes viral at its full effect on social media platforms, most
specifically twitter and facebook as with one post or retweet can cause a chain reaction to even further
distribute the content to expand the audience. Virality is often achieved due to its power to evoke
emotions in a visceral way as well as tell us whole stories in a fraction of the time reading text would
take. ( The Social Media Wildfire. ) The concept of viral media is not subjected to only a certain group
of people but is rather extended to others even if they are not on social media as in many cases videos
that have made it onto international news channels. What makes viral videos viral does not exclude
anyone but is rather meant for a large audience due to it being known for breaking down cultural
barriers by allowing people all over the world to witness significant or interesting events for
themselves. ( The Social Media Wildfire,. 2015) With this viral media revolution, many people see it
as a chance to change their lives, socially, but viral fame is most notably connected to a new financials
status as well. By seeing other people go viral it would start this belief that by going viral, you have
made it, which creates this sense of achievement in regards to their social life. There have been plenty
of good and bad examples of this but one that stands

What would you do if you were a soldier under command of General Washington in valley forge in
the winter? Would you stay or leave? The army has been at Valley Forge, PA for the whole winter, and
some have quit and some have re enlisted. I would not have re enlisted because of the fact that I
missed my family and I want to get back to them. One reason I would not have re enlisted is because
of the deaths from illnesses. Based on the analysis showing the deaths since the beginning of winter in
document A, most of the deaths has been due to the different illnesses at Valley Forge. Almost %50 of
the soldiers at Valley Forge and a %25 chance that you might die from the illnesses. Another reason
that I wouldn t reenlist is because of the harsh

Ordered soldiers to blend in
When tensions rose, they took out weapons, and many died
there was a false prophet in Samaria was to show the sacred vessels that were supposedly to have been
buried by Moses on Mt. Gerizim
Soldiers blocked the way, and a fight ensued
Prisoners were taken by Pilate and later executed
Due to amount of deaths Samaritan leaders went to Syria and complained.
This lead to the dismissal of Pilate.
Tradition has it that Pilate later commits suicide in disgrace
Pilate s life as a whole may be a mystery to many, but as seen today there are historical writings that
help us understand who Pilate was. Also seen today was the rocky relationship between the Jews and
Pilate. This gives un an interesting insight into the crucifixion. We know Pilate tried to please the
Jews, and we know that the religious leaders were not fond of him. Next week we will take a look at
the crucifixion, and the trial of Jesus. As noted earlier Pilate played a role in this, but how does his role
compare to Passover? Next week we will look into that, and I will show that Pilate s role is an
important one.

Joshua Specific Instruction
Specific Instruction: Walking to you Purpose through OBEDIENCE!
Scripture: Joshua 6: 1 27
This particular scripture in the Bible illustrates what happens when you follow God s instruction. God
has given Joshua specific instruction to ensure his army s victory over Jericho. They were instructed to
march around the city, blow horns and do what I m sure they though; really weird things. I could only
imagine Joshua telling his troupes Hey we need to go walk around this City a few times and then go
back to our camps I would imagine they were tired, with little food and energy. I would also assume
they probably were a bit reluctant and did not see the need to walk around the city, blow horns etc. I
sure they thought why aren t we preparing to fight? How is this helping us? This does not make any
sense? Although the instruction from God was a bit strange and uncomprehensive, still they obeyed
and put their faith in the Lord, that he will fulfill his promise. Because they did what was told to him,
they defeated a city that outnumbered the army of Israelites with more military resources. Everything
that God said would come to pass, DID! Their obedience got them to victory! ... Show more content

abbreviations that could take away from your professional image. My current method of
communication is a little bit of everywhere. When it comes to texting friends or family members I
always talk slang or if I do talk professional with them I tend to abbreviate my words to send the text
back fast if I m in a rush to send the message Like for example when I say talk to you later I tend to
say TTYL. When I talk to friends or family on the phone I tend to do the same thing to where I slang
my words like for example I would say was up instead of what s up. When I talk on the phone with

  • 2. Notes On Credit Rating Agencies Literature review: Dror Pranes (2008) said that the participants of the market have a divergent expectation. But they can be classified as optimistic or pessimistic based on set of knowledge. He also argues that the credit rating announcement does not give any undisclosed information to the investors or the market. It only attempts to homogenize the investor s belief. According to Adelson (2012) credit rating plays a vital role in providing an independent opinion about the creditworthiness of the issuer and bridging the gap between lenders and borrowers. Lazarescu (2003) says standardising the value judgement in relation to borrowers in the current scenario of globalisation is contributed by credit rating agency. De Haan and Amtenbrink(2011) argued that there are flaws in the use of credit rating agencies judgement in regulation and accounting. The agencies have a substantial impact on the bonds and their interest. But when the bond is downgraded it is harmful. There will be herd behaviour among investors trying to liquidate investment. Additionally Mathis (2009) said that the construction of issuer pays is a critical problem which may result in conflict of interest. This will make the issuers to shop the ratings. They will go for the rating agency that provides the most favourable rating. Journal of common market studies (2012) explains that the rating agencies suffer from shortcomings. The rating agencies maintain transparency about the data sources and the indicators. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Robert Zieger s For Jobs And Freedom Robert Zieger s For Jobs and Freedom Race and Labor In America Since 1865 is laid out as a scholarly historical look at how race has effected freedom and the labor market for blacks in America since the late 19th century. While Zieger presents the material in a scholarly manner and is careful to look at issues from more than one paradigm; I feel that his voice is often lost in this careful presentation of both sides of the coin. Aside from obviously being pro union Robert Zieger only takes a personal stand a once in his book For Jobs and Freedom; the onetime Zieger s voice is heard he speaks in opposition to the Accomodationists ideals of Booker T and Villard who urged young blacks to accept their station and apply themselves diligently to become the best farmer, domestic servant, or ditch digger that they could possibly be. Another critic of the book raised in class by Professor Bloom was that Zieger only focuses on one form of racism, white supremacy. In my paper I will briefly discuss some of the social and economic changes that forced the rearticulation of the relationship between black workers and white capital near the turn of the century. I will also highlight Zieger s argument that organized labor near the turn of the century failed black workers with their actions while maintaining a rhetoric of egalitarian principles towards black workers. Zieger s practical agenda is to shine a light on racism and help facilitate its end by educating through a lens of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Slope Analysis Essay Slope analysis from DEM Following steps are adopted while calculating slope maps in percentages and in degrees a) Created a segment map with a value domain (created a value domain Height). Digitized the contour lines and gave the contour lines the height value they represent. b) Created an interpolated height map from segment contour lines opened the Operations menu in the main window, chose Interpolation, and then chose Contour Interpolation. The output map is a Digital Elevation Model. c) Calculated height differences in X direction: start the Filter operation, selected the Digital Elevation Model as the input map and selected linear filter dfdx. • 5. Essay on Comparing Two Advertisements In this essay I have chosen to compare two adverts. I chose two from a magazine called VOGUE , I chose them as they both were linked by the theme of fashion but were advertising different products, this will help me show differences between the adverts but the fashion theme will help me to also highlight similarities. The first advert I chose was by a company called Garrard they make fashion accessories such as leather accessories, silverware and also jewellery which is what they are mainly known for. The advert I chose has specifically advertised jewellery in this case a ring and a necklace. On face value the advert has a ring and a necklace laid on a picture of a of the U.K flag. Part of both pieces of jewellery look like wings and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rock and punk element that surrounds Mick and Jade Jagger is again emphasised with the words Rock Hard written across the advert. This implies that whoever wears this will look rock hard and strong so the product instantly conveys an image of strength so would appeal to anybody who would like that image. Also the word Rock obviously relates again to Mick Jagger s music again reminding you that Mick Jaggers s daughter is designing the jewellery. The word Rock also brings images of partying and the word Hard could convey that whoever wears this is the type of person to party Hard . Again this would appeal to anybody who wants to have this image. The skulls on the necklace repeat this Rock image of the necklace as skulls are associated with rock music and being wild. The necklace and ring have a large wing on them this again emphasises partying as the symbol is loud. The wings also give the impression that somebody is free and original so people would buy this to have an image of being a free spirit and being original. Being original is important into today s fashion circles so this aspect of the advert raises the chances of viewers buying these pieces of jewellery. Other aspects of the advert relate more towards the brand for instance the word Garrard in bold lettering reiterates who is making this jewellery and the three hall marks highlight a sign of ... They can just look at it in the face and go whatever and move on. (Malcolm) Whereas some may argue that psychopaths are developed more from their environment, the characteristic traits and neurological data prove genetics are the main cause of psychopathy. Psychopathy is a personality disorder characterized by a constellation of interpersonal, affective and behavioral characteristics. (Harc, 1998) There are many personality traits that accompany those who are considered to be a psychopath. Subsequent studies in youth with conduct disorder show that the parents socialization with their children has less of an affect upon the development of conduct problems, suggesting more genetic significance in youth who are notably callous. (Dolan). Mental retardation, lower intelligence and inability to learn basic communication and language skills have been reported in youth considered psychopathic. Also reported is the severe psychopathy occurring from the youths parents. These parents have issues such as extreme maladjustment, chronic alcoholism, and many incarcerations for criminal acts. (Bezdjian). In order to confirm, tests have been made to assess psychopathic traits in youth. These tests have been recreated from the adult versions. The psychopathy checklist is a scale test used for youth ages thirteen to eighteen, it has the same factor structure as the adult PCL R test from which it was created and focuses on interpersonal aspects of personality and chronic antisocial structure. The psychopathy screening device is used for youth ages six to twelve, and is completed by teachers or parents for validity reasons. The most widely used test is the youth psychopathic traits inventory, which is a self report of fifty items which focus on core personality correlations of youth and psychopaths. (Dolan). Science requires intuitive minds and opinions to continue its testing to assure correctness is achieved. In the 1400s it was still believed that the Earth was the center of the universe but, Nicolaus Copernicus an astronomer and mathematician, developed a model in which the sun was the center rather than the Earth. This lead to future findings that in fact it was the Sun and not the Earth in the center. Galileo Galilei, who was influenced by Copernicus, played a major role during the Renaissance s scientific revolution. His findings came during the late 1500s and one of his major quotes states, All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them. These were all important and led to the future which is now and allows us to understand the world better. Johannes Kepler, was a German unlike most of the one s we study he was a mathematician, astronomer and astrologer during the 1600s. He is widely known for his laws of planetary motion. These discoveries and an apple brought Isaac Newton to discover gravity and its purpose. Newton was a mathematician and physicist during the early 1700s. • 8. Renewable And Alternative Energy Policies When discussing renewable or alternative energy policies, common ideas such as more solar and wind come to mind foremost without or with little thought when you hear renewable or alternative energies. However, policies for these can be quite alarming to someone who does not work or study the field. With Pennsylvania deregulating their the electricity sector in late 1996, alternative energies were certainly not the first thing when it came to their minds when trying to reduce their ever increasing electricity bills. Deregulation brought many ways for Pennsylvania to reduce costs, with still many more questions to be answered and in 2004, when the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act was passed, it was not just up to the Pennsylvania ... • 9. Love In A Pot Of Salsa Short Story Love in a Pot of Salsa I love to travel, but for me, it s not about going on vacation. My family doesn t just flock to a tourist site. We choose to stay with a local family or in a small town inn where for the most part, no one speaks English. And we are there not to lie on a beach or descend upon the most popular tourist spot, but to savor a new culture, and through the friendships we form, add new colors to our hearts and spirits. This is the story of how I learned about love in a pot of salsa. When I was twelve, my family of amateur chefs decided to adventure to Tlaxcala, Mexico, a town famous for Pueblan cooking, a blend of pre Hispanic, Spanish, French, and Lebanese influences. Pueblan cooking s most famous dishes include mole poblano (a rich chili chocolate sauce smothered over tender chicken that features more than thirty ingredientes), chiles en nogada (poblano chiles filled with roast meat, fruit, and spices, then topped with a walnut cream sauce and scarlet pomegranate seeds to resemble the three colors of the Mexican flag), and molotes (a fist sized golden cornmeal pastry filled with beef brisket), to name a few delicious dishes. We stayed with Jon and Estella, a beaming couple in their late sixties. They housed us in their adobe castle, which was surrounded by a brick wall carpeted in a profusion of crimson bougainvillea. In the early morning, you stepped outside to inhale the sight of La Malinche, Tlaxcala s snow covered volcano steaming in the crisp air. And ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Thank Bob Dylan With The Nobel Prize December 20, 2016 Dear Nobel Prize committee, The Nobel Prize for Literature is an outstanding prize that honors extraordinary people for their works in literature. It honors people that have changed literature. On October 13, 2016 you awarded Bob Dylan with the Nobel Prize in Literature. This marks him as the first musician ever to win this prize. Many people agree with your decision, while others are not delighted with this fact. I agree with the committee to honoring Bob Dylan with the Nobel Prize in literature for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition. Bob Dylan was born as Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. While growing up, Bob was influenced by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Little Richard. He was also in a few bands while growing up. While he was in college he began performing folk and country music at local cafes under the name Bob Dillon. In 1960, he dropped out of college and moved to New York. In New York, Bob met his idol Woody Guthrie and visited him regularly and became great friends with him. In 1961, he signed his first recording contract at Columbia Records and became one of the most original influential voices in the history of American popular music. Throughout his lifetime he s been awarded with Grammy s, Academy and Golden Globe awards. In 2012, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama. Anyhow, in my opinion, this is the best example of social awareness and intelligence recognizing and showing love for someone you missed. You can tell she loves him since she is standing upright embracing and vigorously wagging her tail. In addition to that, she is panting heavily showing extreme excitement about finally being reunited with Bryan. The main reason I choose this video was that is showed remembrance and pleasure upon seeing somebody who they had missed and had nothing to do with training. Rosen concerning the number of species in a particular habitat and revolved around the idea that diversity cannot solely be understood through numbers (Maclaurin and Sterelny, 2012). However, before 1985 biodiversity was related to concepts of genetic diversity and ecological diversity . This allowed to further define ecological diversity with species richness as the number of species in a community of organism . Biodiversity is more than just the amount of species in an area but rather better measured by taxic measures, molecular measures, and phylogenetic measures (Harper and Hawksworth, 1994). The way biodiversity was measured through the arthropod collection project by primarily using statistics including the sum of individual specimens, the sum of taxa, and evenness. The sum of individual specimens allows for the depiction of abundance. The sum of taxa is better known through richness or more specifically how common a certain arthropod is. Lastly, using the Burger Parker index, evenness is the lack of dominance which is known as 1/Pm (UNO Department of Biological Sciences,1999). Methods: This experiment was conducted in New Orleans and Kenner, Louisiana which are located in Orleans and Jefferson Parish, however, Kenner is more suburban rather than city. Conducting this experiment required setting out eight pitfall traps (four in each habitat) which were labelled cups one through eight. This experiment was conducted over the time frame of three weeks in order to collect approximately 100 200 arthropods. Catalysts speed up chemical reactions and can go without being used up or changed [3] Without enzymes, the biochemical reactions that take place will react too slowly to keep up with the metabolic needs and the life functions of organisms. Catecholase is a reaction between oxygen and catechol [2]. In the presence of oxygen, the removal of two hydrogen atoms oxidizes the compound catechol, as a result of the formation of water [2]. Oxygen is reduced by the addition of two hydrogen atoms, which also forms water, after catechol is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hypothesis is as the substrate concentration has an increase so will the reaction of velocity if the amount of enzyme is kept constant. MATERIALS AND METHODS To study the effects of temperature, pH, enzyme concentration, and substrate concentration there were certain steps that were followed in order to conduct this experiment. Each factor had a separate procedure to follow to find how each had a different effect on the enzyme. To find the effect of temperature on the activity of an enzyme, the experiment deals with the steps as follows. First, 3 mL if pH 7 phosphate buffer was used to fill three different test tubes that were labeled 10, 24, and 50. These three test tubes were set in three different temperature settings. The first test tube was placed in an ice water bath for ten minutes until it reached a temperature of 2Ā° C or less. The second tube s temperature setting was at room temperature until a temperature of 21Ā°C was reached. The third tube was placed in a beaker of warm water until the contents of the beaker reached a temperature setting of 60Ā° C. There were four more test tubes that were included in the procedure. Two of the test tubes contained potato juice were one was put in ice and the other was placed in warm water. The other two test tubes contained catechol. American forces had taken over Mexico city, and the leaders of the Mexican Army had just signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. America had won the war with Mexico (The American Vision 311). Everything seemed to be going great in the new union; however, as more and more states entered, many different leaders had different opinions about a problem that had been boiling up for a while slavery. More specifically what states would be allowed to have slaves and in what states slaves would still be permitted. Both the North and South argued vigorously for their side of the argument. All the while, then President James K. Polk saw no trouble. Polk believed that people in the new territories that had been won over from Mexico wouldn t need to argue over the issue of slavery because the dry climate of the southwest would not support the kinds of farming that made slavery valuable (The American Vision 321), but he was very wrong. In 1846, a Democratic Representative by the name of David Wilmot, proposed an amendment known as the Wilmot Proviso. In this amendment he stated that any territory that the United States gained from Mexico should enter the Union and Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall ever exist. (The American Vision 321). This outraged the Southerners. They were afraid that a ban of slavery in the territories would cause questions to arise about slavery in all states in general. As mentioned in this week s materials theories can assist with developing explanations and/or ideas about criminal activity, such as, the factors that caused the offender to commit the crime, how to prevent the offender and others from committing more crime, or the most effective punishments. Without the presence of theories all policies and practices put into place would lack verification of effectiveness and need (Blokar, 2015). In our readings, various theories on the effectiveness of punishment were either verified or unsupported at some point in time over the past three centuries. • 28. Network-Based Network Essay 1. Introduction As the number of modules in Systems on Chip (SoCs) increases, bus based interconnection architectures may prevent these systems to meet the performance required by many applications. For systems with intensive parallel communicat ion requirements buses may not provide the required bandwidth, latency, and power consumption. A solution for such a communication bottleneck is the use of an embedded switching network, called Network on Chip (NoC), to interconnect the modules in SoCs. NoCs design space is considerably larger when compared to a bus based solution, as different routing and arbitration strategies can be implemented as well as different organizations of the communication infrastructure. A network on chip is composed of three main building blocks. The first and most important one are the links that physically connect the nodes and actually implement the communication. The second block is the router, which implements the communication protocol. The last building block is the network adapter (NA) or network interface (NI). This block makes the logic connection between the cores and the network, since each core may have a distinct interface protocol with respect to the network. A communication link is composed of a set of wires and connects two routers in the network. Links may consist of one or more logical or physical channels and each channel is composed of a set of wires. A NoC link has two physical channels making a full duplex connection between ... Eventually, Confederate forces attacked the fort for thirty three hours, but killed no one. It stopped when Anderson and his men surrendered. This was the start of the Civil War. During turbulent economic times Southwest has managed to continue strong revenue growth in a disastrous environment and has operated profitably for 39 consecutive years (Mintzmyer, 2012). Southwest Airlines has capitalized on the company s strength of being the top low cost carrier by offering a simple and efficient business plan that prides itself on customer service. According to Maxon (2010, para. 1) in 2010, for the third straight year, Southwest Airlines carried more passengers than any other U.S. carrier. In 2011 Southwest Airlines Co. (2012) reported 104 million passengers carried with an average passenger load factor of 80.9 percent. In an industry that ranks last in satisfaction among all industries measured by the American Customer Service Index Southwest Airlines remained far and away at the top of the list with scoring 81 out of a possible 100 (McIntyre, 2011, para. 1). These are just a few of the accolades Southwest is able to tout. Southwest does have a strong customer satisfaction rating, resulting in a strong business and a large cash flow. It would be very easy to continue to list the strengths of Southwest Airlines. However, after a review of strengths there must be a review of weaknesses. The most obvious weakness noted in performing any review of Southwest Airlines is regarding the company s service area. Currently Southwest Airlines serves 103 destinations in 41 states, and the District of Columbia. What is missing is Southwest serving a share of the international market. In the year 2009 2010 U.S. carriers received 85.8 million international passengers (U.S. Department of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Reflective Teaching Essay The importance of reflective teaching Be a reflective teacher. Honestly look at what you do from time to time. Evaluate the purpose of your role as a teacher. (Robert John Meenham, 2011) There is a usual but important clichĆ© for a teacherĀ“s career: a teacher has to be a life long learner to be an effective teacher. Research on effective teaching over the past two decades has proved that effective practice is related to questioning, reflection and continuous professional development. Reflective practice can be a satisfying experience for a teacher evolution. It covers self analysis, questioning one owns methods, assumptions about learning, theories as well as oneĀ“s attitudes and behaviour as a facilitator and communicator, in short making a deep analysis of the actions. Reflecting on teaching includes the teacherĀ“s thoughts on the successfulness of the lesson planning and the implementation used to teach. Completing some ideas on a structured piece of paper, even a chart with good and bad points or ideas to implement or discard can be beneficial. Another plan can be looking for ideas in books, consulting different resources, and implementing peer learning group to discuss teaching issues; thus the practitioner s theoretical background would be deeply improved. Sub Chapter S Corporations Advantages * Limited Liability to the shareholders (owners) personal assets. * Investors are more likely to invest in this type of entity due to its protection, and easy acquisition of the company stocks. * Pass through entity: This simply means that in most circumstances all income pass to the shareholders to be reported under their personal income tax returns; therefore, profits are being taxed once vs. a C corporation where it is first taxed as the corporate level, and then in the shareholders personal return as dividends. Tax as dividends are tax max at a fifteen percent rate (15%) but it is still a double taxation. Most businesses have losses at the beginning of their operations. Having this type of entity can save in personal income tax against other income the shareholders report. Losses can be carried backwards during two (2) years, and or forward for twenty years if not fully used. Disadvantages * Very complex to keep in compliance with federal and local government. * Active shareholders compensation is required in a payroll. This requirement can be very expensive for a micro company since payroll taxes matching FICA (Federal Insurance Contribution Act) would be required. * Additional reporting in business records, in order to keep track of

Analytical Framework (Generalized Spatial Two Stage Least Square: GS2SLS) Hedonic price model has been developed and widely used to identify the factors explaining housing prices (Malpezzi, 2003). In this study, we deal with additional two statistical issues such as endogeneity between land use and housing price and spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. First, endogeneity should be carefully accounted for when measuring the effect of land use on housing prices because a simultaneous relationship between land use and housing prices exists. For example, better accessibility or high levels of mixed land use increase housing prices because such land use features bring about more activities firms are encouraged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this approach cannot deal with spatial autocorrelation between housing prices. Previous studies have demonstrated that housing prices can be spatially affected by neighboring housing prices or unobserved neighboring factors. If we do not control for the spatial autocorrelation, the estimated values can be biased and inefficient (Anselin, 1988). In order to account for the issue, we use generalized spatial two stage least square (GS2SLS) model that accounts for the endogeneity and spatial autocorrelation together, which is expressed as the following equations; P=Ī»WP+Ī±L Ģ‚+Ī²X+u (5) u=ĻWu+Ļµ Because the hedonic price model generally uses a log form of housing prices, our final empirical model used in this study is expressed as the following equations; lnā” (P)=Ī»W[ln(P)]+Ī±L Ģ‚+Ī²X+u (6) u=ĻWu+Ļµ 4.2. Spatial Weight Matrix A spatial weight matrix presents the pairwise spatial relationship between two any spatial units. It has two different types such as contiguity based weight matrix and distance based weight matrix. Although it can be chosen by researcher s judgement, distance based weight matrix is more appropriate when the size of spatial units is irregular (e.g., in the case of census tracts). Hence, the spatial weight matrix used in this analysis is expressed as the follows; W_ij={ā– (1 if d_ijā‰¤C @0 if d_ij C or i=j)ā”¤ (7) where C denotes a distance cutoff ... I could only imagine Joshua telling his troupes Hey we need to go walk around this City a few times and then go back to our camps I would imagine they were tired, with little food and energy. I would also assume they probably were a bit reluctant and did not see the need to walk around the city, blow horns etc. I sure they thought why aren t we preparing to fight? How is this helping us? This does not make any sense? Although the instruction from God was a bit strange and uncomprehensive, still they obeyed and put their faith in the Lord, that he will fulfill his promise.
