Examples Of Isolation In The Ocean At The End Of The Lane
What if I told you, everything you do this very moment is driven by your unconscious desires, and
you had no idea about it? It hides deep in the abyss of your mind, influencing your actions and
thoughts. When a situation pops up, people deal with them according to their comfortability, but they
usually fall under a category defense mechanisms . This can be seen very clearly in Neil Gaiman s The
Ocean at the End of the Lane , as the conflicted characters are seen to have problems of their own, one
of them being loneliness. After much reading, it is observed that the characters have used defense
mechanisms of their own to react to loneliness. The characters of The Ocean at the End of the Lane
deal with loneliness by accepting, distracting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator s father s reason behind his loneliness is mainly due to his wife s new job, as stated in
chapter 6, Good news darling, I ve got a job... I ll be working four days a week. (6.6) This leads him to
deprive of a partner, which is a huge cause of loneliness as explained by a marriage study that
...unhappily married is associated with significantly lower levels of overall happiness, life satisfaction,
self esteem and overall health. (Hawkins Booth, 2005) Thus, the narrator s father turns to Ursula
Monkton to fulfill his desires, displaying projection as his defense mechanism as he thinks the feeling
was mutual. In chapter 8, the narrator catches his father having intercourse with Ursula Monkton and
thinks, ...now I was scared by what it meant that my father was kissing the neck of Ursula Monkton .

The Disadvantages Of Prenatal Testing For Children
Prenatal testing includes an array of tests that give women information about their baby s health and
well being. These tests have established a basis for early detection and treatment of common ailments
during a woman s pregnancy. The tests offer a broad spectrum of information to women about their
baby s state of being; however, they can be dangerous depending on the procedure. Though helpful yet
risky, prenatal testing comes with both advantages and disadvantages. Prenatal testing provides many
advantages to women and their babies. One major advantage is the ability to detect a vast variety of
diseases and disorders before the baby is even born. According to Prenatal Screening and Its Impact
on Persons with Disabilities, The most frequently given reason is that [doctors] are trying to prevent or
ameliorate medical or disabling conditions that are genetically based (Kaplan par.4). By having these
advanced tests, it allows doctors to research and garner information on how to prevent a possible
disorder or disease. As reported by LiveScience, the tests can detect genetic disorders and birth defects
such as down syndrome, Tay Sachs disease, sickle cell anemia, or cystic fibrosis (Nierneberg par.2).
These tests give the parents an advanced notice on some issues they could possibly deal with now or
at a later time. The tests can also determine the sex of the baby which is always thrilling for the
parents to be. Another advantage of prenatal testing is that some

Abstract Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) play main role in the design and development of the
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) who improves the road safety and transportation productivity.
VANETs include two communication types i.e. Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Roadside
(V2R) communications. One of the most important challenges of this kind of network are the timely,
safely and reliable dissemination of messages between vehicular nodes which permits the drivers to
take appropriate decisions to improve the road safety. There are many routing protocols for VANETs
which can support the reliability and safety for routing. These protocols undergo the several
limitations including complexity, lack of scalability, end to end delay, routing overheads, etc. To
remove these limitations, various bio inspired methodologies have been proposed for routing among
vehicular nodes in an optimized way. Here in this paper, various bio inspired routing algorithms for
the VANET are discussed.

The Visual Encyclopedia Of Late Roman Art
from the visual encyclopedia of late Roman art to tell a story. In addition, pagans and Christians both
produced similar non verbal, iconographical images that pointed to a shared conceptual backcloth in
which both pagans and Christians had a prior agreement in a form of life. This form is largely defined
through the relationship between death and the afterlife. One such form involves the iconographical
depictions of events that occurred in the catacombs themselves refrigeria meals (in the Christian case)
to commemorate the apostles and future saints Peter and Paul, or even the deaths of everyday
Christians. These meals were events in which the living feasted in the presence of the dead. However,

The benefit of association provided by collective catacomb burial, as well as artistic depictions of
virtues on tombs, was one that crossed different religious and class groups; these associations suggest
that, at least up until the third century, these types of shared experiences were an important way for an
individual to connect their life (and death) to wider society as a whole. This, in turn, helped people
make sense of the world that both Christians and pagans lived in. Thus, it is sufficient to say that
Christian catacomb art, compared to pagan catacomb art, does not necessarily reflect any distinctly
more confident belief in the afterlife than the other; rather, art served as a sort of consolation between
the life one lived and how they hoped to be remembered after death, especially in the lower class. Yet,
just like burial, Christian art was a way for Christians to find specific meaning in their collective
Roman experience. The emergence of Christian art reflected the emergence of a characteristically
Christian social identity, one that revolved primarily around the interpretation of biblical narratives.
While it is true that both Christians and pagans used similar artistic types, it is also true that even
when similar iconographical figures were depicted, Christians and pagans were attracted to icons that
reflected their specific religious beliefs. This duality will be shown in two ways: first, by analyzing

Pursuing A Career As A Nuclear Engineer
I have been conducting research on nuclear engineers. I find this job fascinating because I have always
loved science and I think that radiation is interesting. Nuclear engineers are people who design and
create most of anything that deals with nuclear properties. Nuclear engineers are important to the
world because they are the minds behind things such as clean energy and many medical tools and
equipment. There are many different fields that a nuclear engineer can be employed in such as medical
fields or nuclear power plant design. The main thing about this occupation that appeals to me is that
they design and make this that improve our world in many ways and there are endless possibilities for
innovation. I would love to know that I can use my mind to help change the world in whatever way I
choose. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As of 2014, only 16,800 people were employed as nuclear engineers. Not only is this a very small
group of people but this career is projected to have a 4% decline in employment from 2014 to 2024.
This means that 700 jobs are projected to be lost by 2024. Nuclear engineers are most often employed
around areas where clean nuclear energy is mainstream such as California, South Carolina, and
Virginia. Other positions can be found across the country because nuclear engineers can specialize in
different fields like aerospace and medical ( Nuclear Engineers Summary ). Nuclear engineers have a
broad range of responsibilities and duties due to the nature of the position. If a nuclear engineer was
employed with a company that built nuclear power plants they would be expected to develop and

How Durkheim Makes A Very Accurate Argument About Suicide
Durkheim makes a very accurate argument about suicide and why it happens. There are many reasons
why people commit suicide that are other than bad reasons. Everyone tends to think that suicides only
happen when a person is feeling upset. But Durkheim makes an argument that suicide can happen
even when a person is really happy. There are a lot of factors that can cause a person to commit
suicide such as feeling upset, not belonging, being too happy, or even just a sudden change in life
aspects can cause a person to commit suicide. Changes in the anomie of the population can really
affect a person.
When it comes to the community having a rise in suicide I would say that it has to do with the sudden
rise in the economic state for the member of the community. Since there have been a lot of people that
have come into money thee past finical position has changed very dramatically. Durkheim states that
when a person experiences a severe change in economic status they seem to lose their minds. They are
not able to figure out what to with all of the money therefore conduct into a new life that is very out of
there control. They might spend all of the money too quickly and fall into a depression or they might
feel that even with all of the money in the world they are not able to really be happy thus leading to
suicide as well. Durkheim urges that this is possible both ways when a person loses lots of money or
when they come into a lot of money. This can also happen to a person if

The American Dream In I Hear America Singing By Walt Whitman
During this era the American dream was the notion that a man could create a successful life for
himself and his family. As discussed earlier, America effectively isolated women and African
Americans, therefore they had no way to make a living to support themselves. A prime example of this
would be in the poem I Hear America Singing by Walt Whitman. Whitman describes the sound of
America as one of hard work produced by workers. He writes, the carpenter singing his as he
measures his plank or beam (Whitman 3). It illustrates the hard work that Americans put into their
careers, and their willingness to support the nation s economy. No African Americans appear in the
poem, and Whitman describes women working in the house. Once again, the exclusivity of the nation
only allows white males to have a chance of achieving a pleasant, stable life. At this time, a majority
of African Americans remained enslaved across the Nation, which prohibited them from being able to
build any sort of life for themselves. Therefore the American Dream is not even an option for almost a
quarter of the population. How could someone prohibited from leaving a plantation be able to support
themselves and live an acceptable life? For almost all African Americans the idea was unthinkable
until the later half of the 1860 s when the government abolished slavery. When it comes to women,
however, one could say that living the American dream was possible. Women in America worked in

Essay On Texting And Driving
Making it illegal to use a hand held cell phone while driving is a smart and safe idea. Using a cell
phone while driving is distracting and dangerous, bringing damage to cars, people, relationships,
finances, and much more. Cell phones in this current society have taken over a majority of peoples
attention, having them while driving is reckless and life threatening. In order to use a cell phone one
must be looking at the screen to know what they are doing. When the driver takes their eyes off of the
road for longer than a second or two then they are automatically in grave danger. Without looking at
the road, someone could easily drive out of their lane and either hit another car or fall into a ditch
causing self harm. Cell phone usage while driving is an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These cell phones are causing accidents therefore, they are indirectly responsible for a plethora of
other problems as well, through the domino effect. For example, if a lady was driving her car and
received a text from her son that he needed gym shoes for school, then she proceeded to text him back
about what time he needed them and suddenly, she loses all focus she had on driving and turns it
towards her phone. Focus lost, she starts to drift towards the inside lane. Without so much as a
warning she has lost her life due to the drifting into the guard rail at 60 miles per hour. Her phone cost
that lady her life; it cost her husband his wife and numerous financial debt for the car and funeral
expenses, not to mention a life time of longing; and depressingly it cost her son his mother and
possibly his chance of going to college easily with their significant financial decline. Texting, or any
other cell phone usage, while driving does not only deprive people of their money or their loved ones,
but relationships too. One guy decides to let his best friend drive his car to work because his best
friend s car is in the shop. The best friend is running late and decides to call his boss and

Analysis Of In Feed By Walker Percy
Walker Percy, an author and philosopher, said that, You live in a deranged age, more deranged that
usual, because in spite of great scientific and technological advances, man has not the faintest idea of
who he is or what he is doing. In Feed, a satirical novel by M.T. Anderson, the characters often seem
as if they don t have an understanding of what is happening in the world around them. Feed is mainly
about Titus, the narrator who displays more complexity than his friends, and Violet, his individualistic
girlfriend who is constantly challenging concepts in their world. In addition to Titus and Violet, M.T.
Anderson includes many significant secondary figures, one of which is named Quendy. Quendy is
more mainstream, meaning that she follows the current trends and is very dependent on the feed, and
is more of an average teenager in their society. Quendy, a static character, is used to satirize the idea of
trends throughout the novel and to show that because of this, people don t seem to have their own
opinions.
M.T. Anderson uses Quendy to illuminate how trends work in their society. Throughout the book,
Quendy is seen trying to keep up with the current styles, which constantly involves checking to make
sure they have not changed. When Quendy and her friends are at Ricochet Lounge, a place where you
can fly around in low gravity, Quendy and Loga went off to the bathroom because hairstyles had
changed (20). Instead of having fun with her friends, Quendy is so

Tenochtitl Capital Of The Aztec Empire
Tenochtitlan was the capital of the Aztec empire. It was one of the largest cities in the world in 1521.
It evolved from a small settlement on an island in the western marshes of Lake
Texcoco, into the mighty political, economic and religious center of the largest empire in Pre
Columbian Mexico in less than 200 years. Tenochtitlan was a city of great wealth at the time.
Most construction of Tenochtitlan took place during the reigns of four Aztec kings beginning in the

Analysis Of Samuel Taylor Coleridge s Kubla Khan
Experts widely regard Samuel Taylor Coleridge as one of the few major leaders of British
Romanticism. His poems, both individual works and collaborations with another Romantic leader,
William Wordsworth, are proof of this. His works incorporated ideas that are often found in Romantic
poetry, such as a reverence for nature, emphasis on emotion and imagination over reason and logic,
and other themes that contradicted thinkers of the Age of Reason. Coleridge assisted in the change
from Enlightenment ideals favoring rationality and deduction to a thinking with your heart style.
Coleridge had a strange childhood as the last of ten children and largely isolated from the world, and
therefore had few companions other than the books he so loved to read. This exposed him to the ideas
that eventually made him into the renowned Romantic poet readers view him as today. Coleridge s
upbringing in 18th century England and close association with other poets, including the co authoring
of Lyrical Ballads with William Wordsworth, helped form his worldview and poetic style, evidenced
in his poem Kubla Khan, which in turn shaped English Romanticism and the way readers would look
at poetry forever.
One of the largest influences on Coleridge was his unusual adolescence and the people he met, as a
child and later on. It is said best as, For Coleridge, childhood is the shaper of adult destiny
(Gradesaver). The youngest child of ten, he had his father die when he was not even nine years

Definition Of Conjoint Analysis
The foundation of the Conjoint Analysis go back to at least the 1920s, it is generally agreed that 1964
marks the start of the conjoint measurements (Luce and Tukey, 1964). Conjoint Analysis was
introduced to the marketing research community in the early 1970s (Green and Rao, 1971). Since
1970, it has become the most popular multi attribute choice model in marketing research community
(Cattin and Wittink, 1989).
This study uses the Conjoint Analysis methodology to estimate consumer s preferences and
acceptance of value added fish products in Oman. As shown in the previous chapters, the conjoint
methodology is widely accepted as a tool to evaluate consumer preferences for both market and non
market goods. This chapter reviews consumer utility and the steps involved in the implementation of
the Conjoint Analysis.

It is widely used in marketing research. Conjoint Analysis is based on the premise that the attributes of
a product form the basis of decision making in consumer choices. That is, consumers evaluate the
value of a product by combining the separate amounts of value provided by each attribute of the
particular product or services. So the consumers total utility is calculated by estimating part worth
utilities for the product attributes. Then the relative effect of each attribute level on the respondent
preference rating, and the relative importance of each attribute, can be determined. Conjoint Analysis

The Major Characteristics Of A Culture
China has the oldest, continuous, civilization in the world that dates more than four thousand years of

Foreign Relations With Russia Essay
Uniteds States foreign relations with Russia have been shaky even after the fall of the USSR in 1991,
most notably because Russian leaders have never been very supportive of the United States global
democratic influence. However, with the collapse of the Soviet economy, Russia realized that
democratic economic policies were probably the only path to a successful and thriving country. But
with recent U.S. intervention in Russian foreign policy over the annexation of Crimea and the unstable
Ukrainian conflicts, relations with Russia have become especially hostile. Therefore the U.S. should
take a look at the implications of losing stable relations with Russia (as it has in the past few years)
and instead strengthen these relations, to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most importantly however, the U.S. should attempt to see Putin s side of the argument and try to
understand where he is coming from so that Russia no longer feels like it is being treated as a lesser
power when compared to the other more affluent Western nations. (Tsvetov, 58) Next we must look at
why Russians disregard U.S. aid and intervention, and how we can remedy ourselves in order to
promote better relations. First of all Russia desires to become a great superpower as it had been post
World War 2, however many Russians believe that U.S. intervention in their private foreign policy has
hindered Russia s growth locally as well as internationally. As a result, Russia has taken its own
measures to remedy this issue, starting with the unauthorized and unlawful annexation of Crimea.
(Tsvetov, 58) So the U.S. should make it clear that its intentions are not to overpower Russia when
interfering with its foreign policy, but rather to enforce international laws and keep the world safe
from Russian over empowerment. Additionally, the U.S. should not interfere beyond its boundaries as
Putin believes it has, an example being U.S. support for the Ukrainian protesters. (Tsvetov, 58) And
the U.S. must restore its integrity by pulling itself out of its support for instances such as the colour

The Importance Of Animals In Agony
Animals are pretty chill.
They do a lot for us too, dogs help police sniff out illegal drugs, sea lions are monitoring climate
change in the ocean and bees help grow our planet. Dogs have a sense of smell that is 1000 times
stronger than the average human.
Which is like woah.
With their strong sense of smell, detection dogs are used to help find drugs, contraband, blood, etc.
which helps the police keep us safe. Sea lions that are trained to monitor the ocean have sensors
attached to their fur and they go deep in the ocean and track water pressure and temperature. Bees are
pretty sweet as they provide us with honey, also they pollinate about ⅓ of what we eat and most plants
in our world which is kind of important too. So many animals like these help our environment and us
people.
There is one more important thing animals have done for us that has greatly affected our health, they
have participated in animal testing.
Animals in Agony?
Many people think animals that are being used to test drugs are abused and tortured therefore they
need to be saved.
First of all.
How do they know that? Are they there with the animals? Did an animal send them a secret message
telling them that they need to be saved? No. Contrary to what the vegans might believe, the
researchers testing these animals aren t evil people who are sadistic and enjoy torturing animals. They

Trick Or Treaty By Alanis Obomsawin Sparknotes
Trick or Treaty? is a 2014 Canadian documentary film by Alanis Obomsawin that details into the
difficult history of Treaty Number 9, the infamous 1905 agreement in which First Nations
communities lost sovereignty over their traditional lands. The title Trick or Treaty? asks the question
of whether the Cree and Ojibway people were lied to in order to obtain the necessary signatures to
steal their land. Obomsawin demonstrates this by placing significant focus on the way the treaty was
interpreted by First Nations peoples and the Canadian government while exploring the discrepancies
between two versions of the treaty: the written version and the oral version. The documentary also

As suicide rates rise and thousands of Indigenous women are added to the list of missing or unsolved
murder cases, many First Nations people are reaching a tipping point. When the Canadian
Government introduced the omnibus Bill C 45 in 2012, First Nations resentment flared even more.
This federal budget bill included changes to land management on reserves that diminished the
authority of First Nations without their any of their consultations. Unsatisfied with the federal
government s refusal to answer ongoing demands and no longer willing to let their cries of injustice go
unheard, they take to the streets and other forms of protest in their Idle No More movement.
Obomsawin s footage begins with Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence s six week hunger strike in
2013 to protest the situation. She is not starving herself in hopes of instant punishment or profit, but
desires to evoke a sit down meeting between Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Governor
General David Johnston, and the First Nations leaders. From a tipi on Victoria Island, she hoped to
focus the attention of Canadians on the living conditions of First Nations, the inequalities affecting
them, the rights they were demanding and their concerns about the federal bill that has been
introduced. In this context, a hunger

attends school all year round, with only short breaks for spring, summer and winter. Even though
children going to a special needs school are segregated from all the other children. Special needs
schools are better for my son verses normal schools as they work on life skills instead of the basic

them have a notable impact on their lives. Having continuous education is one reason why Austin will
be able to attend The Beekman Center until his mid twenties. After that point he will be able to go into
another program.
Furthermore, going to school longer helps with behavior, academic, social development, and them to
progress emotionally. It also with quality of their lives, set up friendships, and to gain the most
possible skills. Austin is classified as physically and cognitively delayed. He was shaken at fourteen
days old by his biological father, due to that has a traumatic brain injury. Austin is wheelchair bound,
but can walk with moderate help, walk up a couple of steps and roll to get around otherwise. He
understands a lot, but has a limited vocabulary so a lot of times he is unable to express himself, like he
wants. Because he has a limited vocabulary he is unable to communicate the way other teenagers are
and it frustrates him as well as makes it harder for him to learn. Austin is dependent on others for daily
care such as getting dressed, diaper changes, feeding and transportation.

with lung cancer and is being very strong for her and her parents. Her doctors made a miracle drug
discovery called phalanxifor and it has saved her life. She was very quite and exhausted which is
understandable considering she has just had the injections of the phalanxifor. She said she had the
injections put into her body to please her parents as well as coming to these sessions. She is very
irratated with her parents for making her come to these sessions and kept saying there was no use in
her being here. She is angry and overwhelmed by the whole situation. She concluded by saying that

all and rest will help with her cancer and overall health. She needs more than anything social
interactions, not just support group but she needs her freinds and family surronding her.
Session Three: She came in today and was much more friendly and in a much better mood in
comparison to our last session. She said she went to support group and although she does hate it, she
didnt have a terrible time. She breifly mentioned meeting an interesting boy her age named Agustus
Waters. She seems to like this boy very much and was much happier talking about him than anything
else. She has been hanging out with more of her friends latley and has been getting lots of rest.
Whatever she is doing is working and she needs to keep it up.
Treatment: Keep hanging out with Agustus, he has a high impact on this sudden change in additude.
Keep going to support group, getting rest, she is due for another injection of phalanxifor and keep
being more social and active.
Session four: I hadnt seen hazel in about a month and right when she walked in I knew something was
different. She was smiiling very wide and was the happiest I had ever seen her before. She said that

Patronage is often known as the support that is given to an artist by the patron. A patron is someone
who provides support to artists. They become loyal customers to the artist and help them be put out on

One critical patron to art in Renaissance Italy was Pope Julius II. In this period the church was often,
the leading patrons of art and Pope Julius II helped keep the church one of the main patronages of this
time. He commissioned many artists who created famous art pieces in Rome and in despite that many
different families in Italy were rivaling the church. Julius II did whatever he could delay the plans of
Lorenzo de Medici, the most powerful patron in Italy at the time. He had taken Michelangelo and
commanded him to work in Rome. Thus delaying Michelangelo s work with Medici, as Michelangelo

The immune system responds to the perceived threat by releasing histamines.
Histamines produce many different reactions including respiratory and nasal congestion, mucus

Architectures for Scalable Quantum Computation Essay
1. Introduction
A classical computer represents an implementation of a (sub ) Turing machine that is limited by the
laws of classical physics. As such, certain computational problems are either extremely difficult to
solve or are intractable (w.r.t. resources). In order to tackle these problems, a super Turing
computational model has been devised and named as the quantum computer [1]. Quantum
computation is based on the laws of quantum mechanics and can outperform classical computation in
terms of complexity. The power comes from quantum parallelism that is achieved through quantum
superposition [2] and entanglement [3]. Computability is unchanged so intractable problems are still
unsolvable, but the exponential increase in speed means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This requires use of large amounts of auxiliary qubits (aka. ancillae). Further fault tolerance is
achieved by applying the error correction codes recursively (in levels) [9], exponentially increasing
overhead and reducing fault probability. Due to these error correction schemes, a single logical qubit
is represented by multiple physical qubits. As an example, a single logical qubit at two levels of
recursion is represented by 49 [10] or 81 [11] physical qubits, depending on the error correction code
used. Intuitively, the number of physical qubits required for interesting integer factorisation described
in [4] would be in the thousands. This is a problem because most investments into manufacturing
technology went into silicon based devices and technology such as ion traps [12,13] are not as well
developed. Hence, initial proposals for quantum architectures such as the Quantum Logic Array
(QLA) [14] are space inefficient and somewhat impractical. This review attempts to give an outline of
the current state of quantum computing architectures based on the QLA and provide critical
comments.
2. Review
The quantum logic array (QLA) [14], designed by Metodi et al., is one the first complete architectural
designs of a trapped ion quantum computer based on the quantum charge coupled device architecture
in [13]. However, as it is the first attempt at

between the generation of an action potential in a muscle cell and the start of muscle contraction. The
Concentration phases tarts at the end of the latent period and ends when the muscle tension peaks. The
relaxation phase is the period from peak tension until the end of the muscle contraction.
5. What could be a chemical cause of fatigue? It is suspected that fatigue is caused by an accumulation
of lactic acid, ADP, and P, in muscles. Another reason comes from Calcium levels decreasing from
muscle contractions.
6. In fatigue, what happens to force production over time? Force will fall because muscle cell s ATP is
used up faster than it s produced.
7. If you were lifting a dumbbell, would your muscles be contracting isometrically or isotonically?

The Art And Science Of Craft Confectionery By Pat Santucci
The Appealing Simplicity of Craft Confectionery
Ryan Gosling perfectly illustrated the love that people have for candy when he said, I think the one
thing I love most about being an adult is the right to buy candy whenever and wherever I want ( Ryan
Gosling Quotes ). Candy holds a special place in many people s hearts whether it be caramel,
chocolate, or lollipops, and Americans love candy so much that they spend sixteen billion dollars a
year just on chocolate alone (Reilly). In the Pecha Kucha presentation, The Art and Science of Craft
Confectionery , presented by Pat Santucci, he discusses how to create some of these beloved sweets,
while going into detail about the ingredients and equipment necessary for the process. He also

Ethos is the appeal to ethics, and it is used in order to persuade the audience of the speaker s
credibility and character. The presentation begins when he is introduced by a female announcer who
says Pat is a qualified confectionery expert . He continues to prove his credibility when he starts
explaining the scientific structure about sugar and how the mixtures of the different types of sugars
make candy work . Despite part of his purpose being to persuade his audience that it is not difficult to
create these confections, he makes sure to acknowledge that not all craft confections are easy to make,
such as chocolate or cotton candy. He explains that these confections requires specific equipment and
more intense processes, but by admitting this difficulty, he gains the audience s trust by showing that
he is honest and will disclose all information he knows even if it may go against his general statement
of persuasion. When he discusses how to make cotton candy, he uses scientific vocabulary such as
centrifugal force when describing the more tedious process, thus further proving that he knows what
he is talking about when it comes to craft confectionery. Another example of the use of scientific
vocabulary is when the speaker discusses how caramel is made through a process called

The Struggle For Political Balance
Delaney Reed Mrs. Barcroft AP Government 9 October 2015 The Struggle for Political Balance
Americans were known as a pioneering people who would struggle and fight to build for themselves.
A people who pushed the entire world into a new era and has continued to push the limits of
technology, military, and culture. After Britain finally surrendered the colonies to the American
citizens a new republican experiment was conducted. One that is still going on to this very day and
every citizen of America is a part of this grand experiment. The British Colonies were independent
from one another before the American Revolution, but a shared enemy began a strong bond between
the states. After things settled down the states were allied with one another in a form of confederation
and then finally under the Constitution as a united republic nation. There were those who were not
completely for a strong central government and favored the confederate style, but there were also
those who found comfort and strength in a centralized federal government. This federalist versus anti
federalist debate has continued throughout all of American history each side with its strengths and
weaknesses. The development of the debate and increase in federalism in American government can
be highlighted by the doctrine of implied powers, commerce clause, the American Civil War, and the
struggle for civil rights. Chief Justice Marshall was a pioneer for setting government precedents and
advocated for a

Doing this at the same time can cut down your overall installation costs verses having new wheels and
tires put on separately.
#3 Inspect Your Spare Tire
When purchasing new tires, you should also check your spare tire. If it is damaged, this is a great time
to have it fixed.
If your vehicle uses a full size space, you can potential save the old tire that you are taking off your
vehicle that is in the best condition and replace your current spare tire. You should only do this if your
old tires are in better condition than your spare tire.
#4 Purchase An Entire New Set Of Tires
It is best to replace your entire set of tires at the same time. Replacing all of your tires at once will
ensure that your driving experience is smooth. Having matching tires will give you the best overall
handling experience and will keep you safe on the road. Over time, it will also allow you to identify
issues with your vehicle based on how all of your tires wear out.
The next time you purchase new tires for your vehicle, make sure you pay attention to what your old
tires are telling you about the condition that your vehicle is in and fix any issues that affect your tires
before getting a new set put

  • 2. Examples Of Isolation In The Ocean At The End Of The Lane What if I told you, everything you do this very moment is driven by your unconscious desires, and you had no idea about it? It hides deep in the abyss of your mind, influencing your actions and thoughts. When a situation pops up, people deal with them according to their comfortability, but they usually fall under a category defense mechanisms . This can be seen very clearly in Neil Gaiman s The Ocean at the End of the Lane , as the conflicted characters are seen to have problems of their own, one of them being loneliness. After much reading, it is observed that the characters have used defense mechanisms of their own to react to loneliness. The characters of The Ocean at the End of the Lane deal with loneliness by accepting, distracting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. The Disadvantages Of Prenatal Testing For Children Prenatal testing includes an array of tests that give women information about their baby s health and well being. These tests have established a basis for early detection and treatment of common ailments during a woman s pregnancy. The tests offer a broad spectrum of information to women about their baby s state of being; however, they can be dangerous depending on the procedure. Though helpful yet risky, prenatal testing comes with both advantages and disadvantages. Prenatal testing provides many advantages to women and their babies. One major advantage is the ability to detect a vast variety of diseases and disorders before the baby is even born. According to Prenatal Screening and Its Impact on Persons with Disabilities, The most frequently given reason is that [doctors] are trying to prevent or ameliorate medical or disabling conditions that are genetically based (Kaplan par.4). By having these advanced tests, it allows doctors to research and garner information on how to prevent a possible disorder or disease. As reported by LiveScience, the tests can detect genetic disorders and birth defects such as down syndrome, Tay Sachs disease, sickle cell anemia, or cystic fibrosis (Nierneberg par.2). These tests give the parents an advanced notice on some issues they could possibly deal with now or at a later time. The tests can also determine the sex of the baby which is always thrilling for the parents to be. Another advantage of prenatal testing is that some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Navroz Kaur Kahlon** *(Computer Engineering Department, UCOE, Punjabi University, Patiala) ** (Asst. Prof. Computer Engineering Department, Punjabi University, Patiala) (Email: *arshrai90@gmail.com, **Kahlon.navroz3@gmail.com) Abstract Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) play main role in the design and development of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) who improves the road safety and transportation productivity. VANETs include two communication types i.e. Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Roadside (V2R) communications. One of the most important challenges of this kind of network are the timely, safely and reliable dissemination of messages between vehicular nodes which permits the drivers to take appropriate decisions to improve the road safety. There are many routing protocols for VANETs which can support the reliability and safety for routing. These protocols undergo the several limitations including complexity, lack of scalability, end to end delay, routing overheads, etc. To remove these limitations, various bio inspired methodologies have been proposed for routing among vehicular nodes in an optimized way. Here in this paper, various bio inspired routing algorithms for the VANET are discussed. 1. INTRODUCTION A Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET) are considered as a specific type of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) which contains the of a set of mobile nodes (Vehicles) ... • 5. The Visual Encyclopedia Of Late Roman Art from the visual encyclopedia of late Roman art to tell a story. In addition, pagans and Christians both produced similar non verbal, iconographical images that pointed to a shared conceptual backcloth in which both pagans and Christians had a prior agreement in a form of life. This form is largely defined through the relationship between death and the afterlife. One such form involves the iconographical depictions of events that occurred in the catacombs themselves refrigeria meals (in the Christian case) to commemorate the apostles and future saints Peter and Paul, or even the deaths of everyday Christians. These meals were events in which the living feasted in the presence of the dead. However, the small, perforated piscinae ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The benefit of association provided by collective catacomb burial, as well as artistic depictions of virtues on tombs, was one that crossed different religious and class groups; these associations suggest that, at least up until the third century, these types of shared experiences were an important way for an individual to connect their life (and death) to wider society as a whole. This, in turn, helped people make sense of the world that both Christians and pagans lived in. Thus, it is sufficient to say that Christian catacomb art, compared to pagan catacomb art, does not necessarily reflect any distinctly more confident belief in the afterlife than the other; rather, art served as a sort of consolation between the life one lived and how they hoped to be remembered after death, especially in the lower class. Yet, just like burial, Christian art was a way for Christians to find specific meaning in their collective Roman experience. The emergence of Christian art reflected the emergence of a characteristically Christian social identity, one that revolved primarily around the interpretation of biblical narratives. While it is true that both Christians and pagans used similar artistic types, it is also true that even when similar iconographical figures were depicted, Christians and pagans were attracted to icons that reflected their specific religious beliefs. This duality will be shown in two ways: first, by analyzing how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. How Durkheim Makes A Very Accurate Argument About Suicide Durkheim makes a very accurate argument about suicide and why it happens. There are many reasons why people commit suicide that are other than bad reasons. Everyone tends to think that suicides only happen when a person is feeling upset. But Durkheim makes an argument that suicide can happen even when a person is really happy. There are a lot of factors that can cause a person to commit suicide such as feeling upset, not belonging, being too happy, or even just a sudden change in life aspects can cause a person to commit suicide. Changes in the anomie of the population can really affect a person. When it comes to the community having a rise in suicide I would say that it has to do with the sudden rise in the economic state for the member of the community. Since there have been a lot of people that have come into money thee past finical position has changed very dramatically. Durkheim states that when a person experiences a severe change in economic status they seem to lose their minds. They are not able to figure out what to with all of the money therefore conduct into a new life that is very out of there control. They might spend all of the money too quickly and fall into a depression or they might feel that even with all of the money in the world they are not able to really be happy thus leading to suicide as well. Durkheim urges that this is possible both ways when a person loses lots of money or when they come into a lot of money. This can also happen to a person if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The American Dream In I Hear America Singing By Walt Whitman During this era the American dream was the notion that a man could create a successful life for himself and his family. As discussed earlier, America effectively isolated women and African Americans, therefore they had no way to make a living to support themselves. A prime example of this would be in the poem I Hear America Singing by Walt Whitman. Whitman describes the sound of America as one of hard work produced by workers. He writes, the carpenter singing his as he measures his plank or beam (Whitman 3). It illustrates the hard work that Americans put into their careers, and their willingness to support the nation s economy. No African Americans appear in the poem, and Whitman describes women working in the house. Once again, the exclusivity of the nation only allows white males to have a chance of achieving a pleasant, stable life. At this time, a majority of African Americans remained enslaved across the Nation, which prohibited them from being able to build any sort of life for themselves. Therefore the American Dream is not even an option for almost a quarter of the population. How could someone prohibited from leaving a plantation be able to support themselves and live an acceptable life? For almost all African Americans the idea was unthinkable until the later half of the 1860 s when the government abolished slavery. When it comes to women, however, one could say that living the American dream was possible. Women in America worked in the home cleaning, cooking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to use a cell phone one must be looking at the screen to know what they are doing. For example, if a lady was driving her car and received a text from her son that he needed gym shoes for school, then she proceeded to text him back about what time he needed them and suddenly, she loses all focus she had on driving and turns it towards her phone. Focus lost, she starts to drift towards the inside lane. Without so much as a warning she has lost her life due to the drifting into the guard rail at 60 miles per hour. Her phone cost that lady her life; it cost her husband his wife and numerous financial debt for the car and funeral expenses, not to mention a life time of longing; and depressingly it cost her son his mother and possibly his chance of going to college easily with their significant financial decline. Analysis Of In Feed By Walker Percy Walker Percy, an author and philosopher, said that, You live in a deranged age, more deranged that usual, because in spite of great scientific and technological advances, man has not the faintest idea of who he is or what he is doing. In Feed, a satirical novel by M.T. Anderson, the characters often seem as if they don t have an understanding of what is happening in the world around them. Feed is mainly about Titus, the narrator who displays more complexity than his friends, and Violet, his individualistic girlfriend who is constantly challenging concepts in their world. In addition to Titus and Violet, M.T. Anderson includes many significant secondary figures, one of which is named Quendy. Quendy is more mainstream, meaning that she follows the current trends and is very dependent on the feed, and is more of an average teenager in their society. Quendy, a static character, is used to satirize the idea of trends throughout the novel and to show that because of this, people don t seem to have their own opinions. M.T. Anderson uses Quendy to illuminate how trends work in their society. Throughout the book, Quendy is seen trying to keep up with the current styles, which constantly involves checking to make sure they have not changed. • 16. Analysis Of Samuel Taylor Coleridge s Kubla Khan Experts widely regard Samuel Taylor Coleridge as one of the few major leaders of British Romanticism. His poems, both individual works and collaborations with another Romantic leader, William Wordsworth, are proof of this. His works incorporated ideas that are often found in Romantic poetry, such as a reverence for nature, emphasis on emotion and imagination over reason and logic, and other themes that contradicted thinkers of the Age of Reason. Coleridge assisted in the change from Enlightenment ideals favoring rationality and deduction to a thinking with your heart style. Coleridge had a strange childhood as the last of ten children and largely isolated from the world, and therefore had few companions other than the books he so loved to read. This exposed him to the ideas that eventually made him into the renowned Romantic poet readers view him as today. Coleridge s upbringing in 18th century England and close association with other poets, including the co authoring of Lyrical Ballads with William Wordsworth, helped form his worldview and poetic style, evidenced in his poem Kubla Khan, which in turn shaped English Romanticism and the way readers would look at poetry forever. One of the largest influences on Coleridge was his unusual adolescence and the people he met, as a child and later on. It is said best as, For Coleridge, childhood is the shaper of adult destiny (Gradesaver). The youngest child of ten, he had his father die when he was not even nine years ... Foreign Relations With Russia Essay Uniteds States foreign relations with Russia have been shaky even after the fall of the USSR in 1991, most notably because Russian leaders have never been very supportive of the United States global democratic influence. However, with the collapse of the Soviet economy, Russia realized that democratic economic policies were probably the only path to a successful and thriving country. But with recent U.S. intervention in Russian foreign policy over the annexation of Crimea and the unstable Ukrainian conflicts, relations with Russia have become especially hostile. Therefore the U.S. should take a look at the implications of losing stable relations with Russia (as it has in the past few years) and instead strengthen these relations, to ... Most importantly however, the U.S. should attempt to see Putin s side of the argument and try to understand where he is coming from so that Russia no longer feels like it is being treated as a lesser power when compared to the other more affluent Western nations. (Tsvetov, 58) Next we must look at why Russians disregard U.S. aid and intervention, and how we can remedy ourselves in order to promote better relations. First of all Russia desires to become a great superpower as it had been post World War 2, however many Russians believe that U.S. intervention in their private foreign policy has hindered Russia s growth locally as well as internationally. As a result, Russia has taken its own measures to remedy this issue, starting with the unauthorized and unlawful annexation of Crimea. (Tsvetov, 58) So the U.S. should make it clear that its intentions are not to overpower Russia when interfering with its foreign policy, but rather to enforce international laws and keep the world safe from Russian over empowerment. Additionally, the U.S. should not interfere beyond its boundaries as Putin believes it has, an example being U.S. support for the Ukrainian protesters. • 30. Architectures for Scalable Quantum Computation Essay 1. Introduction A classical computer represents an implementation of a (sub ) Turing machine that is limited by the laws of classical physics. As such, certain computational problems are either extremely difficult to solve or are intractable (w.r.t. resources). In order to tackle these problems, a super Turing computational model has been devised and named as the quantum computer [1]. Quantum computation is based on the laws of quantum mechanics and can outperform classical computation in terms of complexity. The power comes from quantum parallelism that is achieved through quantum superposition [2] and entanglement [3]. Computability is unchanged so intractable problems are still unsolvable, but the exponential increase in speed means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This requires use of large amounts of auxiliary qubits (aka. ancillae). Further fault tolerance is achieved by applying the error correction codes recursively (in levels) [9], exponentially increasing overhead and reducing fault probability. Due to these error correction schemes, a single logical qubit is represented by multiple physical qubits. As an example, a single logical qubit at two levels of recursion is represented by 49 [10] or 81 [11] physical qubits, depending on the error correction code used. Intuitively, the number of physical qubits required for interesting integer factorisation described in [4] would be in the thousands. This is a problem because most investments into manufacturing technology went into silicon based devices and technology such as ion traps [12,13] are not as well developed. Hence, initial proposals for quantum architectures such as the Quantum Logic Array (QLA) [14] are space inefficient and somewhat impractical. This review attempts to give an outline of the current state of quantum computing architectures based on the QLA and provide critical comments. 2. The Struggle For Political Balance Delaney Reed Mrs. Barcroft AP Government 9 October 2015 The Struggle for Political Balance Americans were known as a pioneering people who would struggle and fight to build for themselves. A people who pushed the entire world into a new era and has continued to push the limits of technology, military, and culture. After Britain finally surrendered the colonies to the American citizens a new republican experiment was conducted. One that is still going on to this very day and every citizen of America is a part of this grand experiment. The British Colonies were independent from one another before the American Revolution, but a shared enemy began a strong bond between the states. After things settled down the states were allied with one another in a form of confederation and then finally under the Constitution as a united republic nation. There were those who were not completely for a strong central government and favored the confederate style, but there were also those who found comfort and strength in a centralized federal government. This federalist versus anti federalist debate has continued throughout all of American history each side with its strengths and weaknesses. The development of the debate and increase in federalism in American government can be highlighted by the doctrine of implied powers, commerce clause, the American Civil War, and the struggle for civil rights.
