Nt1210 Network Communication
The main way networks communicate is through a process called protocols which is basically the
instructions that the computer follows when transmitting and receiving information. You can t see any
of these processes happening, they are all different types of networks with different variations of
protocols which make networks connect together and be able to communicate with each other. All this
is then displayed to the client on the screen without them being able to see anything except from a few
clicks. For example the way a Router communicates to a computer is through an IP address which is
assigned by the router which will then find the computer and transmit information to and from the
computer. Networks are different types of equipment, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Professor Kraychir A motivated workforce can be a significant success when employees are motivated
to work at a higher levels of productivity. Also this means the whole organization is more effective at
reaching it s goals. Rewards can be a positive outcome when it comes to boosting your organizations
self confidence and higher employee satisfaction. Having a reward system can always be a good
outcomes because this shows how much your workers are willing to work to achieving a goal in order
to receive something in return. This not only gets things done but brings out another side of your
organizations as a whole. Of course when using a reward systems and you decide to put one in place
for your organization, there should be a good enough reward placed. Just for example a worker will
not work two times as hard for something they do not want. The reward has to get your organization,
employees motivated to achieve the goal you have set. There are aligned organizational goals, when
an employee helps achieve one of its goals a heft reward often follows. And that s what get the worker

The Pros And Cons Of Homosexuality
In today s world, controversies are everywhere, and impossible to avoid in regular day to day
interactions. When you educate yourself on a controversial subject, you often discover how
uneducated and occasionally bigoted other people can be. One such subject is sexuality. As time goes
on, sexuality gains more visibility as a growing number of people come out as gay, transgender, and
other sexual gender orientations. The LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* plus) community is a
supposed safe place for those who identify as queer or trans* (umbrella terms referring to those who
don t identify with heterosexuality and those whose gender identity differs from the sex they were
assigned at birth, respectively). However, as with any rule, people will make exceptions. Though
many offenders deny, obvious discrimination is seen against minority sexualities, such as asexuality
and bisexuality, in forms of jokes and mockeries, invisibility, mislabelling, prejudice, and in some
cases, innocent lack of knowledge, from both inside and outside the LGBT+ community.
There are multiple aspects to someone s identity including gender, romantic, and sexual identity.
Romantic and sexual identities are similar in their variations. A prefix is placed before romantic or
sexual. Some identity prefixes include hetero , homo , pan , bi , and a . A romantic identity tells what
genders a given person experiences romantic attraction towards; a sexual identity tells of the genders a
person experiences

Effects of Rising Technology
Effects of Rising Technology
In the twenty first century, evolution and constant use of technology have greatly impacted humans,
and their ways to approaching media. Many people believe that technology has improved the quality
of life of the people at a great depth, while others see it as a force that has escaped from human
control. Modern technology such as Internet, may help people solve problems or gather information
faster than an ordinary human being is capable of. At the same time, it can also destroy one s social
life and interactions with humans if proper balance is not maintained. While people s thoughts
regarding the two sides are intriguing, the question is, are the negative effects gradually outnumbering

While both authors present some of the positive effects of technology, as mentioned above, to us, each
of them addresses different issues on how exactly uses of technology and technological improvements
negatively impact human life. As people become addicted to the valuable web efficiency, it turns out
that the Internet serves to be quite harmful towards human cognition in such that it diminishes the
capacity of human concentration and contemplation. As Carr says in Is Google Making Us Stupid ,
media supply the stuff of thought, but they also shape the process of thought (Carr 2). In other words,
Internet is controlling and changing the way we think or consume information and thus, flattering our
own intelligence into artificial intelligence (Carr 8). People nowadays are so used to the information
provided by the Internet that they do not rely on their own knowledge or think on their own like they
used to prior to the advent of Internet. An instance that reflects this idea of self manipulation is shown
in Carr s own statement, Once I was a scuba diver in the sea of words. Now I zip along the surface
like a guy on a Jet Ski (Carr 2). Even though Carr does not go onto to say that he is becoming
vacuous, he believes that his mind is changing due to spending so much time on the web over the last
several years. Before, he was very much engaged

The Two Frida Kahlo Analysis
Dear Leslie,
I am in the city of Coyoacan, Mexico to visit Frida Kahlo s The Two Fridas, which she painted in oil
on canvas in 1939, depicting the era of Surrealism. Some say that her painting The Two Fridas can be
labeled as Surreal because of her sometimes bizarre and disturbing themes. Kahlo was not interested
in subjects that came from her dreams or the subconscious, yet her artwork was almost always
autobiographical. This is why this painting was Surreal. I am currently taking a trip to learn more
since you know that one of my favorite artists is Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo has done many self portraits
for her art work. Since she is a well known Mexican painter and I have the same heritages it is
important for me to know more. This is why I am traveling to Mexico to learn more. In this piece of
art, Kahlo paints a self portrait to trying to express the way she felt when she after divorcing from

Fall Prevention In The Elderly Essay
Quality Improvement for Fall Prevention in the Elderly
The occurrence of falls among the elderly is related to multiple factors, such as inherent and external
issues. Studies have proven that when appropriate intervention is put in place, falls are preventable. A
quality improvement according to Polit Beck (2012) is created to examine the willingness of
individuals to understand these studies and put them into practice or to appraise the results of
interventions already in place. This paper will examine a practice issue facilitated by the advanced
practice nurse (APN), explore the theoretical underpinning of change, describe an improvement tool
and model for improvement and allocated resources towards the prevention of fall among the elderly.
Selected Practice Issue
The occurrence of falls in older adults are common and can result in serious injuries, even death.
Owing to multifaceted changes in the aging, falls and related injuries are rampant in the healthcare
settings. Moreover, the decline in the involvement and inspirational level of older adults in fall
prevention measures continues to be a challenge. Hence, increasing the motivational level of this older
populace in fall preventive plans is of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The outcomes are revisit, reevaluation of current intervention methods and policies and in most cases,
changes to set protocols are implemented. To improve the quality of life and reduce frailty among this
older populace, the APN systematically reviews and assess each individual upon admission process
and identifies older adults at risk. These risk factors are disseminated to the healthcare team members
who ensure that interventions are in place and implemented as ordered. The eventual objective of
RCA, of course, is to avert imminent harm by eradicating the oblivious errors that continues to trigger

First selling organs could help a family with debt problems. Many families suffer with debt so they
could just sell their organs to help. Instead of taking out a loan and being in debt you could sell an
organ and help pay for the thing you wanted to buy. Cars and things like that cost around 30k for each

The Impact of Stalin on Russia and the Russian People
Joseph Stalin was born to a poor family in the province of Georgia in 1879. Stalin s real surname was
Djugasvili; he adopted the name Stalin whilst in prison as he felt the translation Man of Steel would
help his image. Stalin joined the Bolshevik party as a young man and soon became an active member
organizing bank raids to gain money for party funds; this led to Stalin s imprisonment a number of
times. Stalin first met Lenin in December 1905 in Finland and was quite surprised to see him as an

With Lenin dead and Trotsky eliminated Stalin realized he was now able to concentrate on his own

One Country . He began with state control of Industry and Agriculture. This led to Stalin adopting his
Five Year Plans for Industry and Collectivisation of Agriculture . An organisation called GOSPLAN
was created to plan everything out. The first five year plan was created to improve heavy industries
production such as coal, oil, iron, steel and electricity. The second continued to emphasise on heavy

emphasis on weapon production, as war did seem to be approaching. The long term effects of this
were that Russia was able to withstand German invasion in World War Two and drive back the

Theme Of Love In City Lights
I. The one theme that connects all the films we have watched in this class is an overall theme of love
this love presents itself in many different ways. In City Lights, the love between The tramp and the
blind girl, in Central Station it is the love between two strangers, Dora and Josue, The Namesake has
the love in an arranged marriage, Children of Heaven, the love between a brother and sister, and The
Kite Runner has love between two best friends that transcends the generations. All of these movies
have very different sets of characters, plots, settings, and cultures but the one theme connecting them
all is love. This love presents itself in many different ways, but the love is present all the same.
City Lights by Charlie Chaplin took place right here in the United States and started off the semester
with a traditional view of love as a culture we often view falling in love with someone as the ideal
what everyone wants. We especially want someone to love us for who we are, not the money or things
that we have. In City Lights, the Tramp inadvertently tricks the blind girl into thinking that he has a lot
of money. However despite this deception, he loves her, he wants to do what is best for her, even if it
gets him in trouble or sends her away from him. He tries working hard to get her what she needs a
cure for her blindness. Working hard does not work out for him, and he goes to great lengths to get the
money for her, including the boxing match and asking the millionaire for help. He does this because
he loves her deeply and he wants what is best for her. The movie ends with her being able to see and
still accepting him despite the fact that he is not a millionaire. This film portrays the great American
love story putting the other person first, and loving them despite their circumstances.
Central Station from Brazil by Walter Salles depicts a different kind of love. This movie could have
been about Josue, and the love with his mother or his brothers at the end when he finds them instead it
is about the love between him and Dora, an old, sad woman with no relation to him. Throughout the
film, Dora always tries to do what she thinks is best for Josue. It is misguided at first, when she sells
him to

Theme Of Doubleness In The Great Gatsby
II. At this point, hints have already been dropped to the reader about Gatsby and his doubleness ,
(Hays, 1), but even so Fitzgerald now begins to emphasize the extent of that doubleness by
showcasing not only Gatsby s strange habits, but his wealth and power as well.
Fitzgerald has already demonstrated to the reader how unrestrained Gatsby s lifestyle is, and now he
has begun to slowly affirm Nick s doubts about Gatsby. Aside from that, Fitzgerald focuses even more
so on hinting at the truth behind Gatsby s notorious rumors.
The first time the reader actually sees Gatsby use his social status for something other than parties, is
during a brief encounter with a highway policeman.
As Gatsby speeds down a highway and is stopped by a policeman, Nick witnesses him wave a white
card from his wallet right in front of the man s face. This gaudy display of exemption implies that
Gatsby is not at all opposed to using his social status to his benefit, morally just or not. It hints back to
the rumors floating around his parties that Gatsby is not a man to be trifled with, so much that
Fitzgerald even goes so far as to call Gatsby second cousin to the devil (61). Thus, his doubleness as a
mysterious party host and a rumored cold blooded killer is brought to relevance (Hays, 1). 2. At lunch,
Nick is introduced to Meyer Wolfsheim, who very nearly exposes Gatsby s dealings in shady business.
This encounter is used to show where some of the rumors about Gatsby might

College Student Athletes Report
The purpose of this report is to determine whether college student athletes should be paid with more
than scholarships. This has been a heavily discussed topic over the last few years and will continue to
be discussed in the years to come. It is illegal for student athletes to receive compensation for their
participation in college athletics, because the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)
specifically states in its 2016 2017 Summary of NCAA regulations that You (the student athlete) are
not eligible for participation in a sport if you have ever taken pay, or the promise of pay, for competing
in that sport (NCAA, 2016, p 2). Many argue college athletes should be paid with scholarships to

Since there is so much money spent, there is not as much money to pay the athletes as some may
believe. In an article Pete DiPrimio he discusses how schools do not make as much profit as some
believe. A study by the NCAA and USA Today showed that 206 Division I public athletic departments
lose money. Indiana and Purdue are two of the 22 public universities that make money (DiPrimio,
2011, p.1). Kansas State University is also one of the select few colleges that are profitable in the
NCAA. In the aforementioned letter from John Currie, he shows Kansas State s projected budget card
for the 2014 2015 fiscal year. Kansas State s projected budget is set so they can simply break even
(Currie, 2014). Their number one goal is not to make a profit or else their budget projections would be
set to make a profit. Figure 2 shows a few of the profitable programs. Only 14 percent of division 1
schools generated more than a million dollars in 2012. One of the main reasons Kansas State is
actually profitable is because of generous donations from

Retirement Income Plans
TORY BENEFITS The Social Security Act of 1935, with its later amendments, established a system
of providing old age, survivor s, disability, and retirement benefits [EEOC, 2005], which the Social
Security Administration administers. Furthermore, the act is to provide for the general welfare by
establishing a system of Federal old age benefits, and by enabling the several States to make more
adequate provision for aged persons, blind persons, dependent and crippled children, maternal and
child welfare, public health, and the administration of their unemployment compensation laws; to
establish a Social Security Board; to raise revenue; and for other purposes (Social Security
Administration, 1935). For 2005, social security is supported by a tax of 15.3 percent on income up to
$90,000. If your net earnings exceed $90,000, you continue to pay only the Medicare portion of the
Social Security tax, which is 2.9 percent, on the rest of your earnings (Social Security Administration,
2005). Employers pay 7.65 percent, the employee pays the other 7.65 percent, and if an individual is
self employed they pay both halves. VOLUNTARY BENEFITS Retirement income plans are a
benefit, which gives individuals some form of additional income other than social security after

William Blake Poet
William Blake is one of the most renowned poets in the history of English literature. Born to the
owners of a hosiery shop on Broad Street in the center of London in 1757, William Blake developed
into a toddler of extraordinary imagination. While only a young boy (around the age of four), he spoke
to his parents of seeing angels playing amongst him, encountering visions of heaven and hell
throughout London and the nearby countryside, and spotting God keeping a close eye on him during
tasks and chores. It was not long before the young Blake began to stencil out the visions from his
imagination, and as an eleven year old, he enlisted in Pars Drawing School to learn the art of printing
and plaster casting. Soon thereafter, Blake began to apprentice under London artist James Basire, and
as a fourteen year old, he was assigned to drawing monuments in Westminster Abbey, which led to a
lifelong admiration for Gothic art and religious illustration. While working with Basire, Blake
befriended contemporary apprentice James Parker. Parker and Blake would later become partners in a
jointly owned print shop on Broad Street, right next door to the Blake hosiery shop and household, a
partnership that only lasted one year (1784 85). One must recall the historical context of Blake s
development from a young artist to a poet in his mid twenties. In 1775, America began a revolution of
independence from England, igniting tense controversy in London, and the young artist witnessed an

Essay on Should Direct Democracy Be More Widely Used in...
Government and Politics Megan Barry
Should direct democracy be more widely used in the UK? Direct democracy is a form of government
in which all laws are created by a general vote of society. This means that political decisions are put
forward to the people as they are the ones who are going to be directly affected by the outcome of the
decision. An example of direct democracy used occasionally in society is referendums. A referendum
is a general vote by the electorate on a single political question which has been referred to them for a
direct decision. Within this essay I am going to be arguing whether direct democracy should be used
more widely by weighing up the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another argument for direct democracy being used more widely in the UK is that it prevents the
government and MPs making extremely unpopular decisions and ultimately, negatively impacting on
the general public s life. On many problems and issues it is particularly difficult for parliament to
know which way to vote, additionally with many issues that require accurate public opinion and have
considerable historical impact, for example, a constitutional change. Direct democracy not only
evades and prevents detrimental decisions for the whole country, but it also aids the government and
helps them to maintain their popularity and further circumvent an uprising or protest. An example of
this in the past is the Referendum on the changing of the voting system in 2011. In the 2011
referendum it was decided by the people that this voting change was not wanted. Holding a
referendum on this particularly issue prevented an unpopular decision that might have been made by
the government alone. This is significant because the government s popularity is
One final argument for direct democracy in the UK is that it increases the people s political
participation and engagement in current issues. When people are given the opportunity to have their

The Potential Misuse of Genetic Engineering and Cloning
Human s wisdom has not yet caught up to their capability in science and technology. Genetics are
being experimented which could alter human evolution. This technology, genetic alteration, is close to
being used by the public. Cloning is a form of genetic alteration and experimentation. More legislation
should be passed to further restrict genetic experimentation due to the possible misuses of the
technology.
There are many different forms of cloning. There is cloning in nature which helps with farming and
has been around for thousands of year. The cloning of animals and humans is another form. The first
cloned animals were created by Hans Driesch in the late 1800 s. His goal was to prove that genetic
material is not lost during cell division. While testing sea urchins, the results ended up with two
identical sea urchins. There were no major advances in cloning until November of 1951, when Robert
Briggs cloned a frog embryo. We now have the technological advancements to clone a human being.
Nuclear transfer is how most of cloning is done. It is the introduction of the nucleus from a cell into an
egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed. This can be accomplished through fusion of the cell to
the egg or through the direct removal of the nucleus from the cell and the subsequent transplantation
of that nucleus into the egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed.
Genetic engineering is not completely a bad thing. Humans and animals are not the only thing that can

campaigned that he was not pushing to lower the drinking age, however many of his quotes are not
consistent with this point of view. No matter what the ultimate decision is for the drinking age, fake
IDs and parents who condone drinking are going to cancel out any legitimacy for this law to work.
Furthermore there are many drugs in testing now that may perhaps eliminate any of the dangers that
are common with drinking. Due to liquor companies targeting ... Show more content on

Salazar doesn t give a specific number of accidents caused by minors, but more a broad and obvious
statement that underage drinking leads to deaths. The fact of the matter is that as long as there is a rule
to be broken, kids are going to break it. That seems to be a common trend of teens, they won t let them
do it, well then they ll find a way to do it anyways. This leads into an article from CNN.com which
recalls all of the ways in which teens purchase and consume alcohol. The first of these methods are
high quality fake IDs. Not only can people make high quality IDs, but they are quite easy to get a hold
of as well. The second thing bringing down the drinking age law, are parents who are willing to allow
their children to consume alcohol, as long as they do not drink and drive. A representative from
Mothers Against Drunk Driving released a statement saying, We have to stop sending mixed messages
to our kids by downplaying the dangers of alcohol use by our youth. Yet, people are wondering if it is
safer to allow kids to drink in their homes, rather than them sneaking around either in parks or
parentless houses, where there is a greater chance of them getting caught by an authority figure.
Despite the greatest efforts of law enforcement and parent formed organizations to deter children from
drinking, kids are still drinking, and at an earlier age. According to CNN.com underage drinking is
now beginning in

Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Analysis
As I trudged through the halls of Wolfson Children s Hospital, I slowly sipped on a white, chalky
liquid. My doctor tried to persuade me it would taste identical to the sweet and refreshing Crystal
Light drink, but with every swallow, my stomach became more and more queasy, and I was not
convinced. This large drink that took me what felt like days to finish was part of the upper
gastrointestinal series and just one of the many tests I was subject to on the long journey of being
diagnosed with the rare disorder, Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. This illness kept me up night after night
with severe nausea leading to vomiting every ten to fifteen minutes, and ultimately a trip to the
emergency room due to severe dehydration. These dreadful hospital ... Show more content on

These joyrides were an escape from my hospital room and opened my eyes, forever changing them.
As my mom would wheel me through the hospital, the amount of people I saw suffering from various
sicknesses crushed my heart. Even though witnessing this multiple times first hand was incredibly
hard, it gave me an intense compassion and a love to want to help others. Two years ago, I had the
privilege to attend a mission trip to Costa Rica with my church. One day, while staying in the small,
impoverished town of Alajuelita we visited an orphanage for children with disabilities. As soon as I
walked into the building, my eyes immediately fell upon a beautiful, young girl who was squirming on
her bed while yelling at the top of her lungs. I was informed that she was unable to communicate with
anyone and it pained me to think about what she was going through. The entire time my team spent at
the orphanage, I sat by her side and rubbed her back to calm her down. It took about thirty minutes
until she stopped screaming and became completely

Healthcare Quality Analysis
Measuring the quality that a healthcare facility gives is of most importance for the individuals that are
serviced. Analytically healthcare facilities deal with many adverse limitations when it comes to
meeting or exceeding the needs of its constituents. In the process of healthcare there are
approximately four different methods that are used to assess the quality of a healthcare organization
and they are structure, process, outcome and patient experience. Each one serves a different purpose
within the structure of a healthcare organization below I will give a brief overview of each one, but the
two main ones that this article will focus on will be structure and process.
Purpose of Quality Measurements There is a needed purpose for measuring the quality of services
within the structure of healthcare, because it gives an overview of how the healthcare organization can
improve on its quality of care. The author defines quality measurement in healthcare as the process of

Apush Dbq Loyalists
After 1776 Loyalists felt the urge to remain allies with Great Britain. This urge came from their own
sense of protection and personal gain. Although other American colonists choose a different political
standpoint, they were Patriots. They lived for independence and liberty away from the power of the
king of Great Britain. However Loyalists supported the king and the traditional ways of Great Britain.
American colonists would support Great Britain as Loyalists for their own sense of safety in the
colonies, as an escape from embarrassment and failure, and for their own prosperity economically and
emotionally. Having the fear of losing their sense of honor and rank, they decided to continue serving

Patriots were known to tar and feather Loyalists when they had the opportunity. Therefore, in Virginia,
were Loyalists were not the majority they were targeted.(Doc B) The Patriots in this printing are seen
as inhumane, the faces are portrayed as if they are of a different species than the Loyalists. They re
seen as threatening and almost miserable men. Loyalists are men of great honor, and would not want
to be part of the Patriot movement. This would evoke a sense of embarrassment on the men and they
would push against being subject to mob rule ran by Patriots. The Loyalist being forced to sign the
document even shows a sense of stability and honor, he doesn t seemed frightened or worried and
appears as if he knows he still is superior to those of the Patriots. This source is used to show how
Loyalists, even in complicated situations, are still more powerful and overcome the obstacles they
face. The author evokes a feeling of superiority within a Loyalist despite the situation they are forced

Hunger thirst fear transport selection fire chimney: these words all have intrinsic meaning, but in those
times, they meant something else. (Wiesel 2006, p.XII). Night is a novel and an autobiography written
by Elie Wiesel in 2006. In this book, Wiesel shares his four years of Horrifying experience at the
concentration camps. The main purpose of writing this book is to show the audience how exactly the
day to day life of the Jews were at the concentration camps. Two of the main points of this book are
Relation and Faith. Wiesel has a good bond with his father that he doesn t lose no matter what
circumstances they both went under. Through out the entire book, Wiesel shows his faith in god to the
audience. There were times where he doubts in god and almost loses faith in him and humanity but
then he continues to have faith in him. The author Elie Wiesel is a Noble prize winner and a teacher
born on September 19, 1928 in Sighet, Transylvania. Wiesel wanted to study religion because of his
religious background but unfortunately that could not happen because he was sent to the concentration
camps at the age of twelve. I chose this book because it was something that I chose it in high school to
write a paper on but I could not do it because it did not meet the requirements of the professors of my
sophomore and junior year. The Author uses his Point of View, Symbolism and Foreshadowing in this
Novel.

The Epidemic Of Dengue Fever
The holiday season tends to attract Canadians to visiting warmer destinations in the hopes of escaping
our frigid winter weather. These warmer destinations, like the Caribbean, have much to offer; with
balmy tropical weather, hot beaches, ocean views, and plenty of sun. Unfortunately, along with the
luxuries of these areas comes with the risk of an array of tropical diseases, such as dengue fever. The
thought of contracting this illness is not ideal for the perfect winter getaway but is beginning to
become a somber reality with the dramatic increase of incidences in tropical climates globally. Dengue
fever, also historically known as break bone fever, is caused by the dengue virus and is endemic in
tropical areas around the world. If severe, the illness can progress to more serious conditions,
including dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. Dengue fever is emerging as a
major global concern as an estimated 2.5 billion people are at risk and an increasing trend in annual
number of cases over recent reported years (1,2). The dengue virus (DENV) is a small, positive,
enveloped RNA virus about 40 50 nm in diameter. DENV belongs to the genus flavivirus; a member
of the Flaviviridae family (1). Its single stranded genome codes for three structural proteins (capsid,
precursor membrane, and envelope), and 7 non structural proteins. There are four different serotypes
of the virus, DENV 1 through DENV 4, that are all antigenically and genetically different. Although

The Power of Music in James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues Essay
The Power of Music in James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues
At first glance, Sonny s Blues seems ambiguous about the relationship between music and drugs. After
all, the worlds of jazz and drug addiction are historically intertwined; it could be possible that Sonny s
passion for jazz is merely an excuse for his lifestyle and addiction, as the narrator believes for a time.
Or perhaps the world that Sonny has entered by becoming involved in jazz is the danger if he had not
encountered jazz he wouldn t have encountered drugs either. But the clues given by the portrayals of
music and what it does for other figures in the story demonstrate music s beneficial nature; music and
drugs are not interdependent for Sonny. By studying the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The battered barmaid also needs music to insulate her from the perils of her life. She dances to
something black and bouncy playing on the jukebox, keeps time, smiling, and when she smiles the
reader can see both the innocent and joyous little girl she will always be and the woman still
struggling for life and dignity, even though these two personalities are hidden underneath the face of a
semi whore (412). She is quicksilver when the music plays; there is still life in her that can be coaxed
to the surface. She watches the jukebox in the pause between songs, waiting for the music to begin
again, to renew her life and energy and hope. Music reveals this woman as she really is, not as she has
become, not as her environment has made her. Just as it is for the whistling schoolboy, music for this
woman is a small salvation.
Many more moments like these are worked into the story. The mother hums a hymn under her breath;
it comforts her while she watches for Sonny, who is out on the streets (419). The narrator whistles to
keep from crying after Sonny refuses his attempts at reconciliation (428). These bits of music are tiny
but significant; small musics performed by non musicians demonstrate how music creates good
feelings. The mother may be singing off key and the narrator probably whistles flat, but because of
their nature as song these tunes are suffused with bits of happiness, and by making the music, the

Satire On Running
I run. Out of emotion, almost every one you can think of. Love, anger, joy, frustration, excitement, and
so much more. Most people who are not runners, ramble questions along the lines of How do you
enjoy that? , Why is that fun to you , and What s the point? . Running brings me peace, it s a time to
think, a time to pray, and a time to get to know myself better. Yes, completely exhausting myself is the
most relaxing, refreshing part of my day. I run. Between 5 and 8 miles a day, and most of the time my
best runs are on the days where I really didn t really want to get off the couch, but I did anyways.
Running is a battle, in my brain, my legs, my lungs, and my heart. Running is nothing more than a

the doubt, and let hope arise. That my friend, is when you surprise yourself. Sure, crossing the finish
line after 6.2 miles is a joyful moment, but my favorite part is the process. The sweat, heavy breathing,
calf cramping, gut wrenching weak moments. Those are my favorite, because I always get through
them. It is said that strength grows in the moments when you think you can t, but you do it anyways. I
believe this wholeheartedly, because i can feel that strength grow in each step after that thought of
doubt. Every run is a blessing, and I will run until i can no longer do so. I am proud of every run, even
if i don t place in that race, or if i cut my daily run short because of a muscle pull. In every run i grow.
I grow as a person, my faith grows, my mind grows, and my spirit grows a little more with each step.

Analysis of Solar Photovoltaic Development and Constraints
Analysis of Solar Photovoltaic Development and Constraints History In 1954, Bell Laboratories have
developed the first solar cell and the energy efficiency was 6% back then (Goetzberger et al. 2002).
The figure has been raised to over 10% within 18 months (Green. 2009). For a long period of time,
solar energy has mainly been applied into the power supply of space vehicles (Goetzberger et al.
2002). On account of the substantial development in the performance of silicon cells, the efficiency of
solar energy conversion has reached 25% (Green. 2009). The growth over time of solar efficiency is
delineated in Figure 1: Figure 1 Development in Solar Efficiency since 1940 (Green. 2009) As shown
in the diagram, there are majorly three major breakthroughs in solar efficiency. According to Green,
the first one was in 1950s, powered by better cell design, crystal growth and junction diffusion. The
following phase was in 1970s, boosted by the enhanced coatings, surface texturing, development in
shallow junctions and photolithographically deïŹned metallization. Finally, since mid 1980 the solar
technology has benefited from ameliorations in bulk lifetimes, light trapping and passivation, resulting
in more than 5% net growth in efficiency (Green. 2009) Importance of Solar and other Renewable
Energy Sources According to the projections from the United Nations, the world population will reach
9.3 billion in 2050 (Lee. 2011). The figure is expected to reach 10.1 billion by

Review on The Herbal Café A Kratom online store
Have you read about Kratom? Do you want to try it, but confused with both positive and negative
reviews? Yes, they are confusing, but for those who cannot really judge things. If you think that you
can take your own decision after checking a few things, then here is the answer for your confusion.
This article is basically a review on one of the online vendors who sell Kratom, but before you choose
any online store or before you read a short review about some vendor, it would be great if you clear up
all your confusions.
Here is the answer for your confusion
You always get to read that Kratom is the best herbal medicine for pains and many other health issues
and mental relaxation as well. But at the same time you also get to hear that this is a most dangerous
medicine which should be known by every parent as most of them report the deaths of ... Show more

products like Kava Kava or Blue Lotus.
Final Word on The Herbal Café
All the reviews that you read on their website or from other sources state that the quality, delivery and
the customer support provided is great. None of the reviews talk about the price and the reason could
be the excellent quality of Kratom that they maintain. But, it is completely individual choice to select
the store and decide the budget. If you think you can spend a little higher for an excellent quality
herbal product, then you can try the sample packs from The Herbal Café online store. The choice of

You can t see any of these processes happening, they are all different types of networks with different variations of protocols which make networks connect together and be able to communicate with each other. All this is then displayed to the client on the screen without them being able to see anything except from a few clicks. • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Homosexuality In today s world, controversies are everywhere, and impossible to avoid in regular day to day interactions. When you educate yourself on a controversial subject, you often discover how uneducated and occasionally bigoted other people can be. One such subject is sexuality. As time goes on, sexuality gains more visibility as a growing number of people come out as gay, transgender, and other sexual gender orientations. The LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* plus) community is a supposed safe place for those who identify as queer or trans* (umbrella terms referring to those who don t identify with heterosexuality and those whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth, respectively). However, as with any rule, people will make exceptions. Though many offenders deny, obvious discrimination is seen against minority sexualities, such as asexuality and bisexuality, in forms of jokes and mockeries, invisibility, mislabelling, prejudice, and in some cases, innocent lack of knowledge, from both inside and outside the LGBT+ community. There are multiple aspects to someone s identity including gender, romantic, and sexual identity. Romantic and sexual identities are similar in their variations. A prefix is placed before romantic or sexual. Some identity prefixes include hetero , homo , pan , bi , and a . Effects of Rising Technology Effects of Rising Technology In the twenty first century, evolution and constant use of technology have greatly impacted humans, and their ways to approaching media. Many people believe that technology has improved the quality of life of the people at a great depth, while others see it as a force that has escaped from human control. Modern technology such as Internet, may help people solve problems or gather information faster than an ordinary human being is capable of. While both authors present some of the positive effects of technology, as mentioned above, to us, each of them addresses different issues on how exactly uses of technology and technological improvements negatively impact human life. As people become addicted to the valuable web efficiency, it turns out that the Internet serves to be quite harmful towards human cognition in such that it diminishes the capacity of human concentration and contemplation. As Carr says in Is Google Making Us Stupid , media supply the stuff of thought, but they also shape the process of thought (Carr 2). In other words, Internet is controlling and changing the way we think or consume information and thus, flattering our own intelligence into artificial intelligence (Carr 8). People nowadays are so used to the information provided by the Internet that they do not rely on their own knowledge or think on their own like they used to prior to the advent of Internet. An instance that reflects this idea of self manipulation is shown in Carr s own statement, Once I was a scuba diver in the sea of words. Now I zip along the surface like a guy on a Jet Ski (Carr 2). Even though Carr does not go onto to say that he is becoming vacuous, he believes that his mind is changing due to spending so much time on the web over the last several years. • 11. Theme Of Love In City Lights I. The one theme that connects all the films we have watched in this class is an overall theme of love this love presents itself in many different ways. In City Lights, the love between The tramp and the blind girl, in Central Station it is the love between two strangers, Dora and Josue, The Namesake has the love in an arranged marriage, Children of Heaven, the love between a brother and sister, and The Kite Runner has love between two best friends that transcends the generations. All of these movies have very different sets of characters, plots, settings, and cultures but the one theme connecting them all is love. This love presents itself in many different ways, but the love is present all the same. City Lights by Charlie Chaplin took place right here in the United States and started off the semester with a traditional view of love as a culture we often view falling in love with someone as the ideal what everyone wants. We especially want someone to love us for who we are, not the money or things that we have. In City Lights, the Tramp inadvertently tricks the blind girl into thinking that he has a lot of money. However despite this deception, he loves her, he wants to do what is best for her, even if it gets him in trouble or sends her away from him. He tries working hard to get her what she needs a cure for her blindness. Working hard does not work out for him, and he goes to great lengths to get the money for her, including the boxing match and asking the millionaire for help. He does this because he loves her deeply and he wants what is best for her. The movie ends with her being able to see and still accepting him despite the fact that he is not a millionaire. This film portrays the great American love story putting the other person first, and loving them despite their circumstances. Central Station from Brazil by Walter Salles depicts a different kind of love. This movie could have been about Josue, and the love with his mother or his brothers at the end when he finds them instead it is about the love between him and Dora, an old, sad woman with no relation to him. Throughout the film, Dora always tries to do what she thinks is best for Josue. It is misguided at first, when she sells him to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Theme Of Doubleness In The Great Gatsby II. At this point, hints have already been dropped to the reader about Gatsby and his doubleness , (Hays, 1), but even so Fitzgerald now begins to emphasize the extent of that doubleness by showcasing not only Gatsby s strange habits, but his wealth and power as well. Fitzgerald has already demonstrated to the reader how unrestrained Gatsby s lifestyle is, and now he has begun to slowly affirm Nick s doubts about Gatsby. Aside from that, Fitzgerald focuses even more so on hinting at the truth behind Gatsby s notorious rumors. The first time the reader actually sees Gatsby use his social status for something other than parties, is during a brief encounter with a highway policeman. As Gatsby speeds down a highway and is stopped by a policeman, Nick witnesses him wave a white card from his wallet right in front of the man s face. This gaudy display of exemption implies that Gatsby is not at all opposed to using his social status to his benefit, morally just or not. It hints back to the rumors floating around his parties that Gatsby is not a man to be trifled with, so much that Fitzgerald even goes so far as to call Gatsby second cousin to the devil (61). Thus, his doubleness as a mysterious party host and a rumored cold blooded killer is brought to relevance (Hays, 1). 2. At lunch, Nick is introduced to Meyer Wolfsheim, who very nearly exposes Gatsby s dealings in shady business. This encounter is used to show where some of the rumors about Gatsby might ... This has been a heavily discussed topic over the last few years and will continue to be discussed in the years to come. It is illegal for student athletes to receive compensation for their participation in college athletics, because the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) specifically states in its 2016 2017 Summary of NCAA regulations that You (the student athlete) are not eligible for participation in a sport if you have ever taken pay, or the promise of pay, for competing in that sport (NCAA, 2016, p 2). Since there is so much money spent, there is not as much money to pay the athletes as some may believe. In an article Pete DiPrimio he discusses how schools do not make as much profit as some believe. A study by the NCAA and USA Today showed that 206 Division I public athletic departments lose money. Indiana and Purdue are two of the 22 public universities that make money (DiPrimio, 2011, p.1). Kansas State University is also one of the select few colleges that are profitable in the NCAA. In the aforementioned letter from John Currie, he shows Kansas State s projected budget card for the 2014 2015 fiscal year. Kansas State s projected budget is set so they can simply break even (Currie, 2014). Their number one goal is not to make a profit or else their budget projections would be set to make a profit. • 15. Retirement Income Plans TORY BENEFITS The Social Security Act of 1935, with its later amendments, established a system of providing old age, survivor s, disability, and retirement benefits [EEOC, 2005], which the Social Security Administration administers. Furthermore, the act is to provide for the general welfare by establishing a system of Federal old age benefits, and by enabling the several States to make more adequate provision for aged persons, blind persons, dependent and crippled children, maternal and child welfare, public health, and the administration of their unemployment compensation laws; to establish a Social Security Board; to raise revenue; and for other purposes (Social Security Administration, 1935). For 2005, social security is supported by a tax of 15.3 percent on income up to $90,000. If your net earnings exceed $90,000, you continue to pay only the Medicare portion of the Social Security tax, which is 2.9 percent, on the rest of your earnings (Social Security Administration, 2005). Employers pay 7.65 percent, the employee pays the other 7.65 percent, and if an individual is self employed they pay both halves. VOLUNTARY BENEFITS Retirement income plans are a benefit, which gives individuals some form of additional income other than social security after retirement. • 16. William Blake Poet William Blake is one of the most renowned poets in the history of English literature. Born to the owners of a hosiery shop on Broad Street in the center of London in 1757, William Blake developed into a toddler of extraordinary imagination. While only a young boy (around the age of four), he spoke to his parents of seeing angels playing amongst him, encountering visions of heaven and hell throughout London and the nearby countryside, and spotting God keeping a close eye on him during tasks and chores. It was not long before the young Blake began to stencil out the visions from his imagination, and as an eleven year old, he enlisted in Pars Drawing School to learn the art of printing and plaster casting. Soon thereafter, Blake began to apprentice under London artist James Basire, and as a fourteen year old, he was assigned to drawing monuments in Westminster Abbey, which led to a lifelong admiration for Gothic art and religious illustration. While working with Basire, Blake befriended contemporary apprentice James Parker. Parker and Blake would later become partners in a jointly owned print shop on Broad Street, right next door to the Blake hosiery shop and household, a partnership that only lasted one year (1784 85). One must recall the historical context of Blake s development from a young artist to a poet in his mid twenties. In 1775, America began a revolution of independence from England, igniting tense controversy in London, and the young artist witnessed an angry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Direct democracy is a form of government in which all laws are created by a general vote of society. This means that political decisions are put forward to the people as they are the ones who are going to be directly affected by the outcome of the decision. An example of direct democracy used occasionally in society is referendums. Another argument for direct democracy being used more widely in the UK is that it prevents the government and MPs making extremely unpopular decisions and ultimately, negatively impacting on the general public s life. On many problems and issues it is particularly difficult for parliament to know which way to vote, additionally with many issues that require accurate public opinion and have considerable historical impact, for example, a constitutional change. Direct democracy not only evades and prevents detrimental decisions for the whole country, but it also aids the government and helps them to maintain their popularity and further circumvent an uprising or protest. An example of this in the past is the Referendum on the changing of the voting system in 2011. In the 2011 referendum it was decided by the people that this voting change was not wanted. Holding a referendum on this particularly issue prevented an unpopular decision that might have been made by the government alone. This is significant because the government s popularity is One final argument for direct democracy in the UK is that it increases the people s political participation and engagement in current issues. Genetics are being experimented which could alter human evolution. This technology, genetic alteration, is close to being used by the public. Cloning is a form of genetic alteration and experimentation. More legislation should be passed to further restrict genetic experimentation due to the possible misuses of the technology. There are many different forms of cloning. There is cloning in nature which helps with farming and has been around for thousands of year. The cloning of animals and humans is another form. The first cloned animals were created by Hans Driesch in the late 1800 s. His goal was to prove that genetic material is not lost during cell division. While testing sea urchins, the results ended up with two identical sea urchins. There were no major advances in cloning until November of 1951, when Robert Briggs cloned a frog embryo. We now have the technological advancements to clone a human being. Nuclear transfer is how most of cloning is done. It is the introduction of the nucleus from a cell into an egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed. This can be accomplished through fusion of the cell to the egg or through the direct removal of the nucleus from the cell and the subsequent transplantation of that nucleus into the egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed.
