Spider Visual Analysis
My visual interpretation, I have decided to create a spider and the web as a center focus that creates
and attaches to the ideas of agency, identity, culture, and structure. The spider represents the dominant
group (white race) creates these labels on how the world should look and be like. It weaves these
invisible norms, just as a spider weaves an invisible web to trap their prey. I place these words in a
circular motion surrounding the spider. The words that are closest to the spider are created by the
dominant groups and influence the rest of the other words. For instance in the inner circle pictures of a
(gay stripper, a woman with dark brown eyes working and poor are identities). These identities were
created by the dominant group on the way people should look, speak, or live by. These identities are
meant to put people in different categories and really limit the mobility of people from the lower
groups. In a multicultural environment, ever teacher and student have their own identify. Being aware
of one s these diversities can be an insight to teachers to listen and get to know there students

pictures in the next circle represent the structures. These sterotypes and standards that are influence by

The Personality Of A Personality Disorder
During many years and even today, society has wonder about some of the personality disorders. Every
time they hear about those disorders people tend to think that there is murder and abuse involve and
that those people are dangerous to society. Since people lack knowledge about the different types of
personality disorders, they tend to lack the ability to deal with those type of people. There has always
been questions about the symptoms, causes, treatment and involvement in society that involve the
Antisocial, Anxiety and Narcissist disorders. We hear about these disorders everywhere, in media and
in everyday life. However, we do not completely understand these disorders to the extent to know
what kind of people live around us.
First of all, the antisocial personality disorder is one of the most common disorder that many people
have the least knowledge. Another name to the antisocial personality disorder is Sociopath. Since this
disorder is antisocial, the symptoms that involve this disorder reflect some lack of involvement in
society. Disregard of right and wrong is one of the symptoms that involve the lack of involvement in
society. Since an antisocial does not acknowledges between right and wrong, the involvement in
criminal activity is common. These people can also be persistent lying or deceit to exploit others,
being callous, cynical and disrespectful of others, using charm or wit to manipulate others for personal
gain or personal pleasure, arrogance, a sense of

Going First Class Or Stay Home
Go First Class or Stay Home
In its early years, GEICO was a small company that specialized in selling insurance to a small slice of
the American public. Its founder, Leo Goodwin, had first worked at USAA, a company that sold
insurance to military officers and whose corporate leadership was dominated by former senior military
officers. As a non military person, Goodwin saw that his opportunities for advancement into upper
management at USAA were limited and he struck out on his own in 1936. His new company would
sell insurance to a different niche market, federal government employees, and its acronymic name
would stand for Government Employee Insurance Company. In the mid 1970s GEICO changed its
business model and began to sell to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The organization known as AARP was originally the American Association of Retired People but has
dropped the full name for the less specific initials, an oft used strategy by groups or corporations that
are trying to broaden their markets, their customer base, or their appeal. How many of us remember
what the initials IBM, PPG, or SAS once meant? AARP has long sought to include all people aged 50
or more, regardless of their employment status. Given the size of the baby boom cohort AARP has a
large pool of potential members and readers of their magazine, which until 2002 was known as
Modern Maturity. Images promted by that name, like those caused by the former full association name
probably cried out for something that sounded less, well, fogey ish. The magazine publishes three
versions for different age groups: 50 59, 60 69 and 70 plus and while those versions are not ad

versions (Vasquez).

Defining Exit Polls And Opinion Polls
Defining Exit polls and Opinion Polls: Exit poll: A poll taken of a sample of voters as they leave a
polling place, used especially to predict the outcome of an election or determine the opinions and
characteristics of the candidates supporters . How Exit poll works: Conducting national exit polls is an
enormous undertaking, requiring as long as two years to implement. The goal of the process is to
collect information on a subset of voters that can be projected to the entire active electorate with a
high degree of confidence. Numerous obstacles, though, stand in the way, threatening to undermine
the effort and bias the results. Exit polls, like most surveys, unfold in four distinct but often
overlapping stages / Research ers usually begin by developing procedures for drawing a probabilistic
sample of voters whose responses can be inferred to the active electorate with a high degree of
confidence. They develop a questionnaire, capable of both describing the types of voters participating
in an election as well as offering insights into the reasoning behind their choices. Interviewers are
trained and eventually employed to disseminate the questionnaires to and collect them from sampled
voters on Election Day. The process concludes with the integration of voters responses into a data set
for analysis. The specific procedures used for each stage vary by polling organization; therefore, I
focus my discussion on those procedures developed by Warren Mitofsky, Murray Edelman,

The Implementation Of Rfid Technology Essay
Implementation of RFID Technology
RFID in Airbus operations started in 1997. It first started RFID in its tool lending business wherein it
used to lend tools to its customers that customers needed for aircraft maintenance. The main objective
was to improve the operation efficiency by making tools available at a faster rate to its customers. A
combination of ERP software and Supply Chain Event Management(SCEM) software was used to
implement RFID technology in its tool lending business.
The tool lending process started with Airbus receiving the order from the customer for the required
tool which triggered an event in the SCEM software as discussed earlier. The tool requested was then
made ready for delivery to the customer. The Forwarder had to collect the tool for shipment and had to
update the data for transportation on ERP, which again created an event in the SCEM software. This
data was passed on to the RFID reader and it was written on the RFID tags on the shipment and the
toolbox. Because of the updating of the data on the SCEM software, each and every supply chain
partners which were concerned like the Airbus tools department and customers tracked the shipment
status. After the tool was delivered to the customer, the Internet enabled handheld device was used by
the Forwarder to update the information. The status was then again made available on the SCEM
software and made available online to all the concerned authorities. After receiving the tool lended to

Abandoning the Puritan Past in Irving s The Legend of...
Abandoning the Puritan Past in Irving s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
One of the first literary movements in America was that of the Puritans.
Their writing was intended to instruct on the glories of God and to instigate a reader s reflection on his
or her place in God s universe.
Nature, in Puritan writing, was a frightening entity. God created nature so that the Puritans (and others
less worthy) could scratch out a living in this world, but nature was also where spirits, witches, and
demons dwelt, waiting to tempt and afflict the righteous. Many years later, another American writer
came on the literary scene with a much different view of the methods, inspirations, and purposes of
writing. Washington ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He traveled around parts of the United States and came to the conclusion that while the land was
beautiful its beauty was not enough to feed the fancy of a writer. An artist, literary or otherwise,
needed the inspiration of the glories of mankind in ages past more than the simplicity of natural
beauty. Irving stated his feelings about the superiority of Europe over the United States, I visited
various parts of my own country; and had I been merely a lover of fine scenery, I should have felt little
desire to seek elsewhere its gratification,...never need an
American look beyond his own country for the sublime and beautiful of natural scenery. But Europe
held forth the charms of storied and poetical association. To escape, in short, the commonplace
realities of the present, and lose myself among the shadowy grandeurs of the past. (The Author s
Account of Himself)
Irving subtly illustrates the need for fanciful imagination to triumph over Puritan practicality and piety
through the characters of Brom Bones and
Ichabod Crane in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow . Ichabod Crane is a direct spiritual descendent of the
Puritans; he is influenced by their views of life and nature. Crane was the schoolmaster of the small

Why Is It Important For Children
Why Is It Important For Children to Have Opportunities For Play? (D1)
Play is engaging in activities for enjoyment and recreation rather than a serious or practical purpose
(Oxford Dictionary, 2015). It s important for children to have opportunities to play because children
have a natural curiosity to discover and explore and this is done through play. Play is a biological,
psychological and social necessity, it s fundamental to the healthy development, learning and well
being of a child (Play England, 2014).
It s important for children to have opportunities to play because play supports children s learning;
through play children practise new ideas and skills, take risks, show imagination and solve problems

development while meeting children s individual needs, including physical, social, cultural, indoor

In Jon Krakauer s novel, Into Thin Air, the strongest character is clearly Rob Hall, the expedition s
head guide, who perished during the expedition. Rob Hall was a thirty five year old guide who had
reached Everest s summit four times before leading the expedition that killed him. Rob Hall is the
strongest character because he was a both brave and wise, and he always put others first. Rob Hall is

A Streetcar Named Desire Critical Summary
To conclude A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams did a fantastic job with revealing much of
Blanche s secrets. Scene nine began with Mitch coming over a little buzzed, but he definitely knew
why he was there. Blanch was alone and seemed to be surprised that he had came back. She rambled
on and on as he sat there to take it for a while. Eventually, he admitted to Blanche what he had heard
about her from three different people as he goes to turn on the light because he had also found that she
was quite a bit older than him. She tried to make excuses and somewhat owned up to part of the
accusations. Blanche wanted to marry him, however, Mitch claimed that she wasn t clean enough for
him or his mother. Blanche screamed fire out of the window until it he scattered from Stanley and
Stella s home. She was having illusions and hearing noises all afternoon, so much that it drove her to
have a few drinks. Stanley soon comes in only to find Blanche wearing a fake tiara. He threw himself
at her with force as she begged for mercy. Stella was in the hospital getting ready to have a baby while
Stanley, from what I understand, raped her sister. That part was a surprise to me because I didn t feel
that he would do anything like that since he just wanted her out of his home. Although, I think that all
of those times that Blanche called him an animal was building up to it. He wanted to show her what he
really is. In the last scene when Stella is home, she had called for a doctor and

I felt frustrated during Chinese New Year. I missed the holidays that I used to have back in Malaysia, I
missed the Ang Paos that provide me fortune, and I also missed my family and friends in Malaysia.
Compared to last year, I felt better this year. When I first arrived United States, I knew only a few
Malaysians. I celebrated this major festival with only a friend. We bought some beers, had a long
conversation about our history in how we had celebrated New Year for the past few years. At that
particular time, I had the urge of going back to my sweet home that is at the other side of the globe
just to get a loving hug from my parents. Being here in a western country, I could not feel the Chinese
New Year s surroundings, I felt sad and homesick. I called my family in Malaysia, hoping to get a
warm greeting from my beloved one.
This year, I went to a party that was held on February 9th, which was two days before Chinese New
Year at my friend s apartment. It was a gathering for all the Malaysians as a celebration for Chinese
New Year. We had decorated the apartment in a traditional Chinese style by putting up red posters
with lucky idioms. We had prepared lots of Chinese food and played some Chinese songs. We tried to
create a Chinese New Year s environment. The rule for that night was everyone had to wear clothes in
red color. We greeted each other as soon as we met. We gambled, which is a traditional way of

Apollo And The Greek God
Among all the Greek, and later on Roman gods, none reached the notoriety of Apollo. He was the
most widely worshiped god, his character extending far out of Ancient Greece, with temples dedicated
to his name as far as Anatolia, Turkey, and Egypt. His influence spread through the ancient world
through the Oracle of Delphi, as he was known to protect mankind with evil, but also as the god of
light, music and dance, poetry, healing, medicine, plagues, divination, prophecy, and truth, as well as
the patron of archers. Apollo enjoyed a myriad of domains to his name. Helios and Apollo are often
used interchangeably as the Greek god of the Sun. However, Apollo s role as the god of light or the
god of the sun was not conventional until 500 BCE, and even the notion was rejected since Helios was
technically the Greek Sun God. In the following two millennia, especially during the Renaissance, the
Sun became strongly associated with Apollo.
As a specifically Greek god, Apollo was not firmly established until around 800 BCE, which
succeeded the development his figure underwent in the dark ages, from 1100 BCE through 900 BCE.
In ancient Mycenaean records from the Bronze Age, Apollo is not mentioned, while other central
Greek gods, including Zeus and Athena are. The records do describe a god named Paiawon, thought to
be an early form of Apollo s epithet, Paian, meaning healer. Speculation suggests Apollo originally
served as the protector of herdsmen and their flocks, through his lyre,

Narration In Wuthering Heights
The Narration of Wuthering Heights This research paper propose to portray the different forms of
narration in Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. The narrative style that Brontë uses is unique. It
includes multiple points of views. The reader is two times away from the events, sometimes three
times. In the beginning Lockwood narrates the events in a diary form, then he starts telling the events
from Nelly s point of view. When Nelly s narration starts as a witness on the events of the past the
readers are two steps removed from the events. But when she narrates events that other characters told
her, the readers are 3 steps away from the story. However, such narrative distance doesn t make the
readers emotionally distant from characters or events. Brontë uses different narrators that leads to the
use of different literary techniques to keep the readers close and connected to the events. ... Show

Changing Motor Oil
Changing the oil for a vehicle s engine can be as painless as changing pants. In most cas es, changing
oil and maintaining a vehicle can be quite relaxing. Changing one s oil is a very im portant task.
Without motor oil a normal vehicle would only be able to drive for about five minutes until
experiencing major engine damage. Changing an engine s oil normally will also pro long a vehicle s
life due to the lubrication and heat distributing qualities of fresh motor oil. The process of changing
one s motor oil will be broken down into three simple steps. Step one to changing motor oil is to
gather tools and jack up the vehicle. The optimal tools for jacking up a vehicle include jacks, jack

She says it s difficult to ignore this problem as there are stories about bears raiding trashcans and

Abc Ethics Case Against Contraception
Since their development, contraceptive techniques and their widespread use have caused some
controversy between groups with different views on the issue. Contraception is defined as the
deliberate use of artificial methods or other techniques to prevent pregnancy as a consequence of
sexual intercourse. The major forms of artificial contraception are barrier methods, of which the most
common is the condom, the contraceptive pill, which contains synthetic sex hormones that prevent
ovulation in the female; intrauterine devices, such as the coil, which prevent the fertilized ovum from
implanting in the uterus; and male or female sterilization.
(Source: Jarvis Thomson, Judith. A Defense of Abortion )
Many reasons have been thrown around on why contraception is wrong, one of them being that it is
unnatural. You could be preventing an act of God by terminating a pregnancy that would of happened
without the contraception. Also it is believed that by terminating what could would have been a
pregnancy you have now crossed the line into anti life, since this is an act of abortion and it prevents
people who might benefit humanity from being born .

There are those who believe that any technique that could interfere with the potential for conception is
an attempt to play God and violates God s Word. At the other end of the spectrum are those who
consider all methods of contraception as viable, even those that could destroy a developing embryo.
Between these two extremes are various positions held by people who believe some, but not all, birth
control methods are acceptable. Playing God is a big issue in the Christian community and like the
quote states above for their belief system birth control takes the control out of God s hands and it now

Government Housing Policy On Home Ownership Rates
Introduction
Promoting home ownership has been a public policy goal of the U.S Federal Government for decades.
U.S housing policies carried out by government entities aim to facilitate growth in home ownership
rates. In 2012, the federal government spent $270 billion to help Americans buy or rent homes
(Fischer Sard 2013). However, it has been argued that government housing polices have had an
insignificant impact on stimulating rates in home ownership. U.S Census Bureau recently reported that
home ownership rate decline to a 20 year low in 2014 (Gupta 2014). In order to determine the
effectiveness of government housing policy on home ownership rates, we examined the impact of a
number of government policies designed to improve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In our closing section, we explain how government housing policies may have contributed to the
subprime mortgage crisis using the report How did we get into this finical mess by Lawrence H White
(2012). Overall, our results suggest that U.S government policy has proved ineffective in stimulating
home ownership rates in the long run. Through the reinforcement of federal policy, improvements can
be made by the Federal government to encourage and support homeownership in the future.
Recent Trends in Homeownership:
One of the notable issues with the U.S housing market is the extent to which the Government failed to
stimulate home ownership rates in the long run. Historical trends in the U.S home ownership rates
show stagnant growth in home ownership after the early 1960 s. The Federal Reserve Bank of St.
Louis Review indicated that homeownership rates remained relatively constant from 1965 to 1995,
despite a wide variety of government policies aimed at stimulating home ownership (Federal Reserve
Bank of St. Louis Review 2006). Following 1995, the U.S home ownership rates indicated significant
improvements. According to the U.S Statistical Abstract, aggregate home ownership during the period
1995 to 2005 indicated a record high for the U.S housing market (Chambers, Garriga, Schlagenhauf
2008). Matthew Chambers, a professor for Towson University,

Consumer Behavior Handbook
Consumer Behavior Booking.com Understanding and acting upon consumer behavior is at the core of
becoming a successful retailer. Today s business environment is packed with competing firms, all
seeking to convenience customers to choose them over their competitors. Many industries, such as the
soda, cell phone, and washing detergent industry are dominated by a just a few or a sole firm.
Therefore, more than ever it is difficult to intervene in the habitual consumption of most consumers. A
consumer s buying process is what must be closely analyzed by any existing or new firm that is trying
to become competitive in today s business environment. A customer will have both utilitarian and
hedonic needs. Often companies will attempt to merge these two types of needs to create an all
encompassing experience. For example, the Wegmans store experience doesn t only satisfy the
utilitarian need of purchasing groceries, it also provides stimulation (an aspect of satisfying hedonic
needs) through visuals and well organized displays. Paying attention to such details and so creating a
multi dimensional experience creates a competitive advantage. Perhaps the most radical change in
consumer behavior happened when the new era of internet began and the way customer s search for
information and evaluate alternatives changed almost instantly. Today customers face the challenge of
being overwhelmed by information rather than not being able to access it. The internet has also
revolutionized

Baby Step 1: Put $1000 in a Beginner Fund
This may not seem like a major move in becoming debt free, but it gives us well needed practice in
changing our behaviors to start becoming money minded. For me this was a step that was already
complete, however, for some this may be the hardest step to take because it requires them to change
and become committed to a new process (Ramsey, 2012).
Baby Step 2: Pay Off All Debt Using the Debt Snowball
The debt snowball is a simple concept by which the user makes a list of all of their outstanding debts
from lowest to highest and starts paying them off. This step takes some coordination through
budgeting and lifestyle reduction. In the Chapter titled Dumping Debt , Dave states that the first thing
we should do to eliminate debt, is to quit borrowing money, which includes using credit cards
(Ramsey, 2012). This is such a profound revelation, taking that credit card debt is up to 887 billion
dollars as of January 2015 (Nasdaq, 2014).
Baby Step 3: Put Three To Six Months of Expenses into a Savings Account for a Full Emergency
This Baby Step is very important because no income is a sure thing. If our income flow suddenly
stopped, how would we make ends meet? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the average
American household drummed up $51,100 in annual expenses (US Department of Labor, 2014). This
means that the average American would need $12,000 25,000 in saving

Major Luston Short Story
Major Luxon arrived, leading the Marines from the front; it was impressive to the Rowland family to
see the Marine Commander on the road with his men. Major Luxon met with Mr. and Mrs. Luxon for
about an hour. Mr. Rowland then asked the Major to follow him. Major Luxon shrugged and thought,
why not? The two men headed out to one of the many barns on the property. Mr. Rowland swung open
one of the doors, You think this will help you? Mr. Rowland asked Major Luxon. The barn was filled
from top to bottom with wheat and corn. We had a bumper crop this year and it seems to be all going

American Indian Music Research Paper
Recently there has been a new found interest in music history along with its cultures but the revival or
interest in American Indian music is nowhere to be found. One issue with popularization or revival of
American Indian music is its unique use of timbre which most western music lack, along with the
variations on sound, American Indian music is best understood from the context of their culture, past,
religion, and spiritual beliefs. When listening to music today there is a correlation with pitch of the
singer s voice along with the instruments complementing these sounds. In many of the cultural song of
the Indians it could be hard for someone in modern day to find a correlation with the pitch and the

Payers In The Health Care Industry
The role of payers in the health care industry has dramatically increased in the past few years and will
continue to do so with the expanding cost of care. Hospitals are often under scrutiny because of the
discrepancies found between the actual cost of care and what the insurance will reimburse the
organization. Bruce Reuben, the president of the Florida Hospital Association, explains the
multifaceted triangle considered by hospitals: There s one party the hospital who provides the service.
There s a second party the patient, who receives the service. And there s a third party the insurance,
who pays for the service (Mack, 2014). The greatest complex part of this triangle is the last which
examines the insurance s payment for service ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Medicare patients make up 42 percent of a hospital s volume and have reimbursement rates that are set
by the U.S. Congress (American hospital association, 2015). Hospitals have little say in Medicare
reimbursement because of the increasing number of regulations and stipulations being set in efforts of
the government to control health care costs. Medicaid patient payment rates are set by state
governments and end up making up around 16 percent of a hospital s volume (American hospital
association, 2015). Between Medicare and Medicaid hospitals bare losses of approximately $51
billion dollars each year because these programs have very low payback rates (American hospital
association, 2015). Luckily, hospitals can count on privately insured patients to help to make up this
difference with higher negotiated reimbursements that each holds with individual hospitals. Private
insurance companies hold contracts with hospitals on an individual basis, which depicts the amount
reimbursed to the hospitals. These contracts vary significantly and can be different, even within one
specific insurance provider and hospital based upon the plan a patient might have. The price
negotiations are very important is maintaining a competitive edge in the industry and each negotiation

Simon Wiesenthal Thesis
Forgetting is something time alone takes care of, but forgiveness is an act of volition, and only the
sufferer is qualified to make the decision ( Quotes ). Simon Wiesenthal took a stand in history by
bringing to justice over 1,000 Nazi criminals after WWII ( About ). Although a silent protagonist, he
helped the world realize how the Holocaust impacted the millions of Jews in concentration camps. In
the short term, his efforts brought hundreds of war criminals to trial and served justice to those
involved in the violence of the Holocaust. While in the long term, his efforts brought global awareness
for the victims of the Holocaust. Simon Wiesenthal was born on December 31, 1908. The beginning of
his life consisted of the harsh realities of WWI. His father, a soldier in WWI, was killed while being
enlisted in the Austrian army, leaving Simon alone with his mother. He graduated from college in the
early 1930 s where he earned an architectural engineering degree. With the motivation towards
architecture, Simon set up a small business in Lviv, Ukraine. He later married Cyla Muller, his high
school sweetheart. After a few years, Simon, along with thousands of other Jews in Ukraine at the
time, were taken by the Soviet Union to a bedsprings factory to serve as workers. Russians began to
deport Jews from the factory to Serbia. Simon and Cyla were still together at the factory, so he was
determined not to leave her. The working conditions there were harsh, and many of his relatives were
killed because of them. The two worked at this factory for several years, until one day when they
received a notice from the Germans. They were both being sent to the German Eastern Railway plants,
the first of many concentration camps for Wiesenthal ( Simon Wiesenthal Biography ). Simon and
Cyla were to be executed by the Nazis within the concentration camp. His prayers seemed hopeless,
until his one of his friends, who worked within Ukrainian Auxiliary Police, saved his life. He helped
him to escape execution by the Nazis at this camp. This, however, did not stop him from being sent to
a different camp. Simon was then immediately sent to the Janowska concentration camp along with
his wife where he was forced to

Latin America Foreign Policy Essay
Latin America cannot be categorized as one homogenous block. In spite of sharing multiple aspects
culture, language, and history there is not a single standard culture that distinguishes the region. One
aspect of Latin American culture, regarding foreign policy, is a prevalent respect for the norm of
sovereignty and non intervention. There exists a strong disposition to follow international law as a
means to prevent war or at the very least ward off potential intervention by extraregional powers.
Accordingly, the factor of self interests and self preservation creates a divergent spectrum of foreign
policies within these countries. Thus, there is a unique propensity of domestic politics primarily from
those leaders in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A comparative analysis will be made between a legalistic and pragmatic/realistic approaches. Taking
into account that each country is independent from each other, and with differing interests, this essay
will give multiple reasons as to why such a variety in policy exists. Accordingly, this essay will show
a propensity for states to apply the foreign policy development strategy that best fits their needs.
Although there may be a sense of preferential treatment for some strategies, Latin American countries
are not inherently bound to a specific development scheme.
The Legalistic Nature of Latin America
Legalism as a cornerstone of Latin American norms has effectively shaped the relationship between
how these states relate to each other and the world. According to Arie Kacowicz, it was considered
honorable for a country to meet its lawful commitments not divorced from considerations of national
interests such as prestige and reputation. When a region s identity relies so much on traditional
legacies, the trend is to lean towards the accepted norms that culturally tie the region. In its simplest
terms, norms are standards of behavior or laws that oversee the behavior of a societal block. Although,
Latin America cannot be studied as a homogenous block, countries in the region vary in their
alignment patterns independently of each other in an attempt to pursue self interests. There is,
however, enough of a social

Characteristics Of A Nurse
The Oxford English Dictionary defines a nurse as, A person trained to care for the sick or infirm,
especially in a hospital. However, this is not my definition of a nurse. My idea of a nurse relates to a
superhero, aiding in the healing of a body. A nurse is a champion who comes into work with energy,
patience, aching feet, stained scrubs with sweat from a strenuous day at work but always a smile. A
nurse goes home 12 hours later from their shift only to remember the extra blanket for Jody and also
that is not sweat on my clothing, it is urine, but a nurse is thrilled that Phil finally went to restroom
after a ten minute story about 10 cent candies. Not just any person could care for Jody, who requests
three blankets each night or Phil who refuses to utilize the restroom, but a superhero could, a nurse
could. I yearn to be a nurse; to be a superhero. Two exceptional qualities come to mind when I regard
a nurse, kindness and patience. Kindness for Jody, who will wake up in two hours requesting less
blankets because she is too hot, despite the fact this is a repeat of the exact events from the day before.
Patience for Phil for the reason that you told him he should try to visit the restroom before dinner, but
before long and he is explaining how to build a computer. Two exceptional qualities I claim to
express, every time I am on the job. My employment is in a long term care facility as a Certified

Reoccurring Theme Of Death In Emily Dickinson s Poems
Emily Dickinson poems seem to have the same reoccurring theme, which takes on a negative
perspective on life; this is the theme of death. The theme of death is frequently used to express her
feelings throughout her life. Everyone has experienced the emotions that come with death, whether it
is a close family member, distant friends or even through storylines of movies. She uses the subject of
death to connect with the audience on an emotional level while also expressing her own feelings
through her poems. The theme of death is expressed in the majority of her poems. They share almost
the exact same idea of death such as, the act of grieving. Her poems might be similar but they all have
a different understanding and perspective of death whether it is positive or negative. The poem, I
heard a Fly Buzz when I died describes the scene and atmosphere of the moment when death comes.
Dickinson creates an image of someone lying on a bed with only being able to hear the sound of a fly.
She uses the fly buzz as a symbol of death and all the things associated with dying. This poem paints a
perfect picture of her idea of what happens before death, during death and after death. Dickinson uses
imagery by using descriptive language such as, the stillness in the room and air to portray what is it
like before death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Bible Is Full Of Wisdom And Folly
The Bible is full of wisdom and folly. This essay will evaluate the concepts of diligent people in
Hebrew wisdom being wise, while the lazy person is a fool. The major part of the essay will
concentrate in Proverbs, but we will review some scriptures from Ecclesiastes. Proverbs was written
by Solomon, and he wrote it out of concern for his children. Ecclesiastes is said to have been written
by Solomon, but this is not certain. Both books can be used by all for guidance, regardless of their age.
Proverbs in general concentrates on moral virtues, and the opposite, their vices. The main theme of the
book is the fear of the Lord, as it is seen fourteen times in Proverbs. Ecclesiastes main theme is life
without God is empty, pointlessness and without meaning. There are a lot of contrasting chapters and
verses comparing the differences between being wise and foolish, the wicked and righteous and the
lazy and hardworking. Both books mainly concentrate on the contrasts between evil and good and
foolishness and wisdom. So, let s look at some verses and relate the concepts, describe and compare
them to being diligent (wise) or laziness (foolish).
In Proverbs 15:19 it says The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is
a level highway (ESV). This saying corroborates the points of Proverbs concerning the directives that
diligence is the way of the wise and the path with less resistance. But the path of laziness is
foolishness and filled with trouble,

The Importance Of Social Media On The Internet
As the governing authority of the most well known communist country, Chinese government has the
absolute control over the Internet, social platforms, school textbooks and a range of other mediums.
Any remark, report or topic that relates to political sensitive figures such as president, vice president
or political criminals are forbidden on the Internet and whatever that may provoke social unrest or
disadvantages to the government is strictly monitored and forbidden. Because of political opacity, only
a few are bothered about politics, among which most of them are bitterly disappointed at the
government. It is clear that owing to the internet censorship, they are too afraid to criticize
outspokenly in real life, and as a result, anonymous social media becomes the only effectual channel.
Though anonymity to some extent allows these minority people to comment on politics or even tell
true stories of political scandals in social platforms anonymously without concerns to be tracked down
by government officials, it is actually a futile attempt to promote the political discussion environment
because of the cautiousness people have about the phrase they use or abusive words and messed up
sentences they throw at the government to unleash their dissatisfaction and rage. Many if not most of
these people don t trust the absolute anonymity: they believe that the government has the access of
social media companies database. Almost all real name users and a large part of anonymous

Compare And Contrast Leininger And Kubler Ross
Leininger and Kübler Ross
Theories exist to guide and teach individuals about how and why certain disciplines function. One
discipline that has many theories is nursing. Nursing theories help to guide patient care. For instance,
Madeleine Leininger developed the theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality also known as
transcultural nursing (TCN), which helps nurses to be culturally competent. There are also non
nursing theorists which can add to a nurse s knowledge in caring for their patient. Elisabeth Kübler
Ross theory on the five stages of grief is an example of a non nursing theorist. The purpose of this

421). This takes into account the values of one who is culturally based which encompasses all aspects
of life, worldview, religion, social, language, and economic matters. Culturally based care can make
positive differences in one s health (McFarland, 2014). Leininger s theory encompasses the four
metaparadigms of health, nursing, person, and environment. Her theory supports the aspect of health
by suggesting that patients that are cared for by culturally based care will have better outcomes of
heath and well being. In nursing, TCN keeps the patient at the forefront of the nurse s actions and
helps to guide their care. The person is capable of caring and ultimately cares for others like children,
elderly, and themselves. The environment refers to the physical place where the person lives including
their surroundings which includes their culture and its practices. Leininger (1997) states that as nurses
become educated in TCN they will understand the multiple holistic, social structure and
environmental factors influencing care, health, dying, disabilities and other human conditions related
to both poor and affluent cultures (p.19). Leininger s theory is valued worldwide. This theory gives
nurses a way to treat and care for the many diverse patients that will cross their paths. This theory is a
theory for today and years to come due to the multicultural world in which we live (McFarland, 2014).

General Motors Oligopoly Essay
The average level of profit per annum is approximately $5.02 billion USD. As shown by the table
above, the average revenue, $39 256.20, is significantly greater than the average total costs,34 289.20.
Although we cannot ascertain what the level of normal profit for General Motors truly is, considering
the revenue earned is approximately $5 billion greater than the total costs, General Motors is clearly
charging significantly more for vehicles than just the price that covers costs. Thus there is a presence
of abnormal profits proving that the firm is operating in an oligopolistic market. Additionally, the firm
s ability to charge a significantly greater price for each unit sold, shows its price making behavior in
the industry. Often firms will drive down prices to intentionally ensure new entrants in the market
cannot sustain this loss of revenue. However the fact that there has not been any significant price
reductions in the past years of operation proves that the threat of competition is not enough to force
prices down towards normal profit levels and there are thus high barriers to entry.
3. Non Price Competition
As previously discussed, prices in the automotive industry tend to stick at their current set price and
only increase or decrease within a small range. Since firms in an oligopoly do not compete by
adjusting the price of their products, they compete using non price related methods.
To begin, one way in which General Motors broadens its consumer base is

Italian Piano Research Paper
Two types of stringed keyboard instrument were available to the household or court musician from the
16th century to the middle of the 18th: the harpsichord and its near relations, the spinet and virginal;
and the clavichord. In the harpsichord family the string is plucked by a small plectrum, originally of
quill. The variety of sound from these plucked instruments is achieved not primarily by finger
pressure, but more subtly by phrasing and articulation. Variety of tonal color can be obtained, on a
harpsichord by judicious choice of registration. The harpsichord was used both for solo performance
and accompanying in chamber groups and in larger ensembles of the period. It typically had two sets
of strings per key, tuned either to the same pitch or with one set sounding an octave higher (a 4
register). The registers were controlled by hand stops above the keyboard. Two manuals (keyboards)
were to be found on certain larger instruments, which usually featured three sets of strings. Found

additional manual used for contrast of tone with the ability to couple the registers of both manuals for
a fuller sound. The Flemish often painted their instruments, decorative lids and soundboards being
common features. French instruments developed from the Flemish design. Many so called French

Research Paper On Coca-Cola Bottlers
Coca cola bottlers incident led to the company s compromised reputation Gladys Loretta in Surabaya
Sunday 3 May 2015 07.20 WIB
The Coca cola bottlers incident where union members and the workers are murdered started on the
1990s. This incident is considered as a corporate crime. A corporate crime is a crime made by a
company that harms other people s lives. Sometimes they harm the ecosystem as well. However, on
this case, the Coca cola bottlers did not harm the ecosystem but they hurt their own workers and the
union members. Coca cola bottlers hired illegal paramilitary groups to intimidate, threaten, and kill
their own workers. These paramilitary groups also threatened to lease a bomb attack on the union
headquarters. All they did was to scare the lives of the union members and the workers. They also
hired far right militias of the United Self Defence Forces of Colombia (AUC) to murder nine union
members. Coca cola was able to dodge from this case as they claimed that they weren t involved with
the death of the union members. The killer itself is the AUC soldier and they got an order from the

The DAC is located on Madison Street in the heart of Detroit. The founders of the DAC went to
Albert Kahn to be the architect. Twenty two bidders nationwide bided on this project. The board
members wanted the project to be all Detroit from start to finish, even if that meant going higher than
the lowest bidder. The contract was awarded to Vinton Company of Detroit for over $600,000. Over
forty subcontractors and supplier companies joined in on the project. Kahn was a successful architect
of the automobile companies of the city of Detroit. His ideas are inspired from Italian Renaissance
palaces in Florence, Italy. They chose Kahn because he had a plan of open interiors and the use of
reinforced concrete, and exterior of brick and stone. It took him months to design the layout of the
building which ended up being six floors plus two mezzanine levels. The project required 1,350 tons
of structural frame steelwork. The main entrance was to be off Madison Street. The face of the
building was set to be made of Bedford limestone. When you walked through the main doors you

with large panels of American Walnut and a fireplace made of Hauteville marble, and the floors with
Tennessee marble. The third level offered a modern Turkish bath

Caribou Descriptive Writing
I Inhale a breath of icy fresh air as I release the string on my bow. The arrow whistles sharply through

  • 2. Spider Visual Analysis My visual interpretation, I have decided to create a spider and the web as a center focus that creates and attaches to the ideas of agency, identity, culture, and structure. The spider represents the dominant group (white race) creates these labels on how the world should look and be like. It weaves these invisible norms, just as a spider weaves an invisible web to trap their prey. I place these words in a circular motion surrounding the spider. The words that are closest to the spider are created by the dominant groups and influence the rest of the other words. For instance in the inner circle pictures of a (gay stripper, a woman with dark brown eyes working and poor are identities). These identities were created by the dominant group on the way people should look, speak, or live by. These identities are meant to put people in different categories and really limit the mobility of people from the lower groups. In a multicultural environment, ever teacher and student have their own identify. Being aware of one s these diversities can be an insight to teachers to listen and get to know there students profoundly and not society constructive influence dictate the way one treats students. • 3. The Personality Of A Personality Disorder During many years and even today, society has wonder about some of the personality disorders. Every time they hear about those disorders people tend to think that there is murder and abuse involve and that those people are dangerous to society. Since people lack knowledge about the different types of personality disorders, they tend to lack the ability to deal with those type of people. There has always been questions about the symptoms, causes, treatment and involvement in society that involve the Antisocial, Anxiety and Narcissist disorders. We hear about these disorders everywhere, in media and in everyday life. However, we do not completely understand these disorders to the extent to know what kind of people live around us. First of all, the antisocial personality disorder is one of the most common disorder that many people have the least knowledge. Another name to the antisocial personality disorder is Sociopath. Since this disorder is antisocial, the symptoms that involve this disorder reflect some lack of involvement in society. Disregard of right and wrong is one of the symptoms that involve the lack of involvement in society. Since an antisocial does not acknowledges between right and wrong, the involvement in criminal activity is common. Its founder, Leo Goodwin, had first worked at USAA, a company that sold insurance to military officers and whose corporate leadership was dominated by former senior military officers. As a non military person, Goodwin saw that his opportunities for advancement into upper management at USAA were limited and he struck out on his own in 1936. His new company would sell insurance to a different niche market, federal government employees, and its acronymic name would stand for Government Employee Insurance Company. In the mid 1970s GEICO changed its business model and began to sell to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The organization known as AARP was originally the American Association of Retired People but has dropped the full name for the less specific initials, an oft used strategy by groups or corporations that are trying to broaden their markets, their customer base, or their appeal. How many of us remember what the initials IBM, PPG, or SAS once meant? AARP has long sought to include all people aged 50 or more, regardless of their employment status. Given the size of the baby boom cohort AARP has a large pool of potential members and readers of their magazine, which until 2002 was known as Modern Maturity. Images promted by that name, like those caused by the former full association name probably cried out for something that sounded less, well, fogey ish. The magazine publishes three versions for different age groups: 50 59, 60 69 and 70 plus and while those versions are not ad versions, they re editorially versioned with different articles, the ads can be targeted to the different versions (Vasquez). • 5. Defining Exit Polls And Opinion Polls Defining Exit polls and Opinion Polls: Exit poll: A poll taken of a sample of voters as they leave a polling place, used especially to predict the outcome of an election or determine the opinions and characteristics of the candidates supporters . How Exit poll works: Conducting national exit polls is an enormous undertaking, requiring as long as two years to implement. The goal of the process is to collect information on a subset of voters that can be projected to the entire active electorate with a high degree of confidence. Numerous obstacles, though, stand in the way, threatening to undermine the effort and bias the results. Exit polls, like most surveys, unfold in four distinct but often overlapping stages / Research ers usually begin by developing procedures for drawing a probabilistic sample of voters whose responses can be inferred to the active electorate with a high degree of confidence. They develop a questionnaire, capable of both describing the types of voters participating in an election as well as offering insights into the reasoning behind their choices. Interviewers are trained and eventually employed to disseminate the questionnaires to and collect them from sampled voters on Election Day. The process concludes with the integration of voters responses into a data set for analysis. The specific procedures used for each stage vary by polling organization; therefore, I focus my discussion on those procedures developed by Warren Mitofsky, Murray Edelman, ... • 6. The Implementation Of Rfid Technology Essay Implementation of RFID Technology RFID in Airbus operations started in 1997. It first started RFID in its tool lending business wherein it used to lend tools to its customers that customers needed for aircraft maintenance. The main objective was to improve the operation efficiency by making tools available at a faster rate to its customers. A combination of ERP software and Supply Chain Event Management(SCEM) software was used to implement RFID technology in its tool lending business. The tool lending process started with Airbus receiving the order from the customer for the required tool which triggered an event in the SCEM software as discussed earlier. The tool requested was then made ready for delivery to the customer. The Forwarder had to collect the tool for shipment and had to update the data for transportation on ERP, which again created an event in the SCEM software. This data was passed on to the RFID reader and it was written on the RFID tags on the shipment and the toolbox. Because of the updating of the data on the SCEM software, each and every supply chain partners which were concerned like the Airbus tools department and customers tracked the shipment status. After the tool was delivered to the customer, the Internet enabled handheld device was used by the Forwarder to update the information. The status was then again made available on the SCEM software and made available online to all the concerned authorities. After receiving the tool lended to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Abandoning the Puritan Past in Irving s The Legend of... Abandoning the Puritan Past in Irving s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow One of the first literary movements in America was that of the Puritans. Their writing was intended to instruct on the glories of God and to instigate a reader s reflection on his or her place in God s universe. Nature, in Puritan writing, was a frightening entity. God created nature so that the Puritans (and others less worthy) could scratch out a living in this world, but nature was also where spirits, witches, and demons dwelt, waiting to tempt and afflict the righteous. Many years later, another American writer came on the literary scene with a much different view of the methods, inspirations, and purposes of writing. Washington ... He traveled around parts of the United States and came to the conclusion that while the land was beautiful its beauty was not enough to feed the fancy of a writer. An artist, literary or otherwise, needed the inspiration of the glories of mankind in ages past more than the simplicity of natural beauty. Irving stated his feelings about the superiority of Europe over the United States, I visited various parts of my own country; and had I been merely a lover of fine scenery, I should have felt little desire to seek elsewhere its gratification,...never need an American look beyond his own country for the sublime and beautiful of natural scenery. But Europe held forth the charms of storied and poetical association. To escape, in short, the commonplace realities of the present, and lose myself among the shadowy grandeurs of the past. (The Author s Account of Himself) Irving subtly illustrates the need for fanciful imagination to triumph over Puritan practicality and piety through the characters of Brom Bones and Ichabod Crane in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow . Ichabod Crane is a direct spiritual descendent of the Puritans; he is influenced by their views of life and nature. Crane was the schoolmaster of the small community of ... • 10. A Streetcar Named Desire Critical Summary To conclude A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams did a fantastic job with revealing much of Blanche s secrets. Scene nine began with Mitch coming over a little buzzed, but he definitely knew why he was there. Blanch was alone and seemed to be surprised that he had came back. She rambled on and on as he sat there to take it for a while. Eventually, he admitted to Blanche what he had heard about her from three different people as he goes to turn on the light because he had also found that she was quite a bit older than him. She tried to make excuses and somewhat owned up to part of the accusations. Blanche wanted to marry him, however, Mitch claimed that she wasn t clean enough for him or his mother. Blanche screamed fire out of the window until it he scattered from Stanley and Stella s home. She was having illusions and hearing noises all afternoon, so much that it drove her to have a few drinks. Stanley soon comes in only to find Blanche wearing a fake tiara. He threw himself at her with force as she begged for mercy. Stella was in the hospital getting ready to have a baby while Stanley, from what I understand, raped her sister. That part was a surprise to me because I didn t feel that he would do anything like that since he just wanted her out of his home. Although, I think that all of those times that Blanche called him an animal was building up to it. He wanted to show her what he really is. At that particular time, I had the urge of going back to my sweet home that is at the other side of the globe just to get a loving hug from my parents. He was the most widely worshiped god, his character extending far out of Ancient Greece, with temples dedicated to his name as far as Anatolia, Turkey, and Egypt. His influence spread through the ancient world through the Oracle of Delphi, as he was known to protect mankind with evil, but also as the god of light, music and dance, poetry, healing, medicine, plagues, divination, prophecy, and truth, as well as the patron of archers. Apollo enjoyed a myriad of domains to his name. Helios and Apollo are often used interchangeably as the Greek god of the Sun. However, Apollo s role as the god of light or the god of the sun was not conventional until 500 BCE, and even the notion was rejected since Helios was technically the Greek Sun God. In the following two millennia, especially during the Renaissance, the Sun became strongly associated with Apollo. As a specifically Greek god, Apollo was not firmly established until around 800 BCE, which succeeded the development his figure underwent in the dark ages, from 1100 BCE through 900 BCE. In ancient Mycenaean records from the Bronze Age, Apollo is not mentioned, while other central Greek gods, including Zeus and Athena are. The records do describe a god named Paiawon, thought to be an early form of Apollo s epithet, Paian, meaning healer. The narrative style that Brontë uses is unique. It includes multiple points of views. The reader is two times away from the events, sometimes three times. In the beginning Lockwood narrates the events in a diary form, then he starts telling the events from Nelly s point of view. When Nelly s narration starts as a witness on the events of the past the readers are two steps removed from the events. But when she narrates events that other characters told her, the readers are 3 steps away from the story. You could be preventing an act of God by terminating a pregnancy that would of happened without the contraception. Through the reinforcement of federal policy, improvements can be made by the Federal government to encourage and support homeownership in the future. Recent Trends in Homeownership: One of the notable issues with the U.S housing market is the extent to which the Government failed to stimulate home ownership rates in the long run. Historical trends in the U.S home ownership rates show stagnant growth in home ownership after the early 1960 s. The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Review indicated that homeownership rates remained relatively constant from 1965 to 1995, despite a wide variety of government policies aimed at stimulating home ownership (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Review 2006). Although a silent protagonist, he helped the world realize how the Holocaust impacted the millions of Jews in concentration camps. • 30. The Bible Is Full Of Wisdom And Folly The Bible is full of wisdom and folly. This essay will evaluate the concepts of diligent people in Hebrew wisdom being wise, while the lazy person is a fool. The major part of the essay will concentrate in Proverbs, but we will review some scriptures from Ecclesiastes. Proverbs was written by Solomon, and he wrote it out of concern for his children. Ecclesiastes is said to have been written by Solomon, but this is not certain. Both books can be used by all for guidance, regardless of their age. Proverbs in general concentrates on moral virtues, and the opposite, their vices. The main theme of the book is the fear of the Lord, as it is seen fourteen times in Proverbs. Ecclesiastes main theme is life without God is empty, pointlessness and without meaning. There are a lot of contrasting chapters and verses comparing the differences between being wise and foolish, the wicked and righteous and the lazy and hardworking. Both books mainly concentrate on the contrasts between evil and good and foolishness and wisdom. So, let s look at some verses and relate the concepts, describe and compare them to being diligent (wise) or laziness (foolish). In Proverbs 15:19 it says The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway (ESV). This saying corroborates the points of Proverbs concerning the directives that diligence is the way of the wise and the path with less resistance. But the path of laziness is foolishness and filled with trouble, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Importance Of Social Media On The Internet As the governing authority of the most well known communist country, Chinese government has the absolute control over the Internet, social platforms, school textbooks and a range of other mediums. Any remark, report or topic that relates to political sensitive figures such as president, vice president or political criminals are forbidden on the Internet and whatever that may provoke social unrest or disadvantages to the government is strictly monitored and forbidden. Because of political opacity, only a few are bothered about politics, among which most of them are bitterly disappointed at the government. It is clear that owing to the internet censorship, they are too afraid to criticize outspokenly in real life, and as a result, anonymous social media becomes the only effectual channel. Though anonymity to some extent allows these minority people to comment on politics or even tell true stories of political scandals in social platforms anonymously without concerns to be tracked down by government officials, it is actually a futile attempt to promote the political discussion environment because of the cautiousness people have about the phrase they use or abusive words and messed up sentences they throw at the government to unleash their dissatisfaction and rage. Many if not most of these people don t trust the absolute anonymity: they believe that the government has the access of social media companies database. Almost all real name users and a large part of anonymous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Compare And Contrast Leininger And Kubler Ross Leininger and Kübler Ross Theories exist to guide and teach individuals about how and why certain disciplines function. One discipline that has many theories is nursing. Nursing theories help to guide patient care. For instance, Madeleine Leininger developed the theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality also known as transcultural nursing (TCN), which helps nurses to be culturally competent. There are also non nursing theorists which can add to a nurse s knowledge in caring for their patient. Elisabeth Kübler Ross theory on the five stages of grief is an example of a non nursing theorist. This takes into account the values of one who is culturally based which encompasses all aspects of life, worldview, religion, social, language, and economic matters. Culturally based care can make positive differences in one s health (McFarland, 2014). Leininger s theory encompasses the four metaparadigms of health, nursing, person, and environment. Her theory supports the aspect of health by suggesting that patients that are cared for by culturally based care will have better outcomes of heath and well being. In nursing, TCN keeps the patient at the forefront of the nurse s actions and helps to guide their care. The person is capable of caring and ultimately cares for others like children, elderly, and themselves. The environment refers to the physical place where the person lives including their surroundings which includes their culture and its practices. Leininger (1997) states that as nurses become educated in TCN they will understand the multiple holistic, social structure and environmental factors influencing care, health, dying, disabilities and other human conditions related to both poor and affluent cultures (p.19). Leininger s theory is valued worldwide. This theory gives nurses a way to treat and care for the many diverse patients that will cross their paths. This theory is a theory for today and years to come due to the multicultural world in which we live (McFarland, 2014). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. General Motors Oligopoly Essay The average level of profit per annum is approximately $5.02 billion USD. As shown by the table above, the average revenue, $39 256.20, is significantly greater than the average total costs,34 289.20. Although we cannot ascertain what the level of normal profit for General Motors truly is, considering the revenue earned is approximately $5 billion greater than the total costs, General Motors is clearly charging significantly more for vehicles than just the price that covers costs. Thus there is a presence of abnormal profits proving that the firm is operating in an oligopolistic market. Additionally, the firm s ability to charge a significantly greater price for each unit sold, shows its price making behavior in the industry. Often firms will drive down prices to intentionally ensure new entrants in the market cannot sustain this loss of revenue. However the fact that there has not been any significant price reductions in the past years of operation proves that the threat of competition is not enough to force prices down towards normal profit levels and there are thus high barriers to entry. 3. Non Price Competition As previously discussed, prices in the automotive industry tend to stick at their current set price and only increase or decrease within a small range. Since firms in an oligopoly do not compete by adjusting the price of their products, they compete using non price related methods. To begin, one way in which General Motors broadens its consumer base is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Italian Piano Research Paper Two types of stringed keyboard instrument were available to the household or court musician from the 16th century to the middle of the 18th: the harpsichord and its near relations, the spinet and virginal; and the clavichord. In the harpsichord family the string is plucked by a small plectrum, originally of quill. The variety of sound from these plucked instruments is achieved not primarily by finger pressure, but more subtly by phrasing and articulation. Variety of tonal color can be obtained, on a harpsichord by judicious choice of registration. The harpsichord was used both for solo performance and accompanying in chamber groups and in larger ensembles of the period. It typically had two sets of strings per key, tuned either to the same pitch or with one set sounding an octave higher (a 4 register). The registers were controlled by hand stops above the keyboard. Two manuals (keyboards) were to be found on certain larger instruments, which usually featured three sets of strings. The Flemish often painted their instruments, decorative lids and soundboards being common features. French instruments developed from the Flemish design. • 36. Research Paper On Coca-Cola Bottlers Coca cola bottlers incident led to the company s compromised reputation Gladys Loretta in Surabaya Sunday 3 May 2015 07.20 WIB The Coca cola bottlers incident where union members and the workers are murdered started on the 1990s. This incident is considered as a corporate crime. A corporate crime is a crime made by a company that harms other people s lives. Sometimes they harm the ecosystem as well. However, on this case, the Coca cola bottlers did not harm the ecosystem but they hurt their own workers and the union members. Coca cola bottlers hired illegal paramilitary groups to intimidate, threaten, and kill their own workers. These paramilitary groups also threatened to lease a bomb attack on the union headquarters. All they did was to scare the lives of the union members and the workers. They also hired far right militias of the United Self Defence Forces of Colombia (AUC) to murder nine union members. Coca cola was able to dodge from this case as they claimed that they weren t involved with the death of the union members. The contract was awarded to Vinton Company of Detroit for over $600,000. Over forty subcontractors and supplier companies joined in on the project. Kahn was a successful architect of the automobile companies of the city of Detroit. His ideas are inspired from Italian Renaissance palaces in Florence, Italy. They chose Kahn because he had a plan of open interiors and the use of reinforced concrete, and exterior of brick and stone. It took him months to design the layout of the building which ended up being six floors plus two mezzanine levels. The project required 1,350 tons of structural frame steelwork. The main entrance was to be off Madison Street. The face of the building was set to be made of Bedford limestone. • 38. Caribou Descriptive Writing I Inhale a breath of icy fresh air as I release the string on my bow. The arrow whistles sharply through the air until splat the front end of the arrow plunges deep into the Caribous thorax. The Caribou jars its head up and collapses as its legs buckles beneath him. I silently place my bow back into its hid satchel, which is strapped behind my back, cautiously walking towards the carcass. First I verify that the animal is dead, by observing the stillness of his chest. Then I pull the arrow out gingerly, and I watch as a scarlet stream of blood cascades out of the wound melting the snow to create little lagoon. I take off the bags of meat and trudge through the heavy snow towards the meat house. I get inside the tiny meat house and the smell of salt hits me like a wall. In the meat house is racks and racks of dried meat and a huge ice box in the corner where I store some of it, there is also a wooden counter where I will lay out and cast the meat in salts to preserve it properly. It is cold and dark in the meat house so I pull a match out of my satchel and light a candle. I find a certain peace in preparing meat, which is kind of weird but I am really passionate about my job. Hours later I am finished and I blow out the candle and head towards the house, my stomach is growling and I realise that I had not eaten since I broke my fast. As I walk the worn path to the cabin, I look up at the sky and see a millions and billions of stars sprinkled across the galaxy I stare amazed it s a great day to be alive.
