The Fashion Choices People Make Should Not Define Who They...
The fashion choices people make should not define who they are. People should be judged based on
their actions and not by their fashion choices. Passing judgement based on looks can hurt others and
cause issues in society. Some people are required to dress in a certain fashion, but that does not
determine whether they are good or bad. I chose this argument topic because it involves my major in
fashion and also an issue for which I can relate. The study of fashion and sociology can relate in some
ways, therefore, this would be an interesting argumentative research topic.
The first key point that I can use in my essay would be that children, especially teenagers, are judge by
their peers based on their fashion choices. This claim supports my argument by showing that teenagers
that are judged harshly, often feel forced to dress a certain way to be accepted. The second key point
that I can use is that people of different cultures are expected to behave a certain way or have certain
beliefs based on their attire. This key point supports my argument to show that stereotyping people
based in their culture can cause result in issues within society. The last key point that I can use is that
fashion choices express how someone feels and not how they are. Someone s style of fashion can
change at any time or frequency, depending on how he or she feels at certain times, or in a specific
situation.
The audience that will be reading my essay will be my instructor or anyone else that is

Chosen Development Framework For The Past Decade
Rajat Chadha CS 4960 November 20, 2014 Professor Sarraille Scrum Methodology Abstract: Scrum
Methodology has been the chosen development framework for the past decade. Created in 2001,
Scrum has taken over as the development framework of choice by business and companies [7].
Scrums counterpart, the Waterfall Methodology has taken a back seat to Scrum. The traditional
developmental framework used by companies and businesses previously was The Waterfall
Methodology. When Scrum got developed it created a better understanding of how to develop projects
in iterations rather than a linear waterfall style. Scrum is a developmental framework that is done in
iterations and can be implemented on many different projects. This paper will go more into depth
about the Scrum Methodology, The Three Artifacts, The Three Roles, Scrum Ceremonies, and The
Waterfall Methodology. 1. Introduction/Background Scrum is a simple framework used to organize
teams and get work done more productively with higher quality [7]. Scrum provides a productive
working environment in which it allows teams to choose the amount of work to be done and how to
best complete the work. The application of Scrum enforces a few simple rules that have the potential
to make a team self organized into process that can achieve 5 to 10 times the productivity of a
waterfall based process [5]. Scrum focuses on prioritizing work based on business value, improving
the usefulness of what is delivered, increasing revenue,

1. Analyze the reasons why the Chinese government hired a Western public relations firm to work on
the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The Chinese government felt it was necessary to hire a Western public
relations firm for the 2008 Beijing Olympics in an effort to create a positive country image. Creating
this positive image also included reducing human rights concerns that were being addressed by groups
such as Darfur and Tibet. The public image of China could have negatively influenced international
consumers attitudes and purchasing intentions for certain products and brands. The issues unfolding in
China were going to be put under a microscope and magnified as media attention shifted to China
because of the Olympics. The hot button issues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The impact of the extensive exposure can be beneficial or harmful to companies and their brand
depending on certain situations. Dow is an example of a company who have received negative
publicity during the Olympic Games. The company has been criticized for its alleged involvement
with the pesticide plant accident that killed thousands of people in India. Almost all publicity from
Dow becoming one of the eleven major games sponsors has been negative, and just about every story
written about Dow associates the company s name with Bhopal, one of the world s worst industrial
disasters (MSNBC, 2012). Rights groups, athletes, and politician have spoken out against Dow and
signed petitions against Dow s participation. The company paid nearly $11 million for fabric panels to
wrap around the London Olympic stadium, but to assuage public protest, Dow agreed not to put its
logo on the decoration (MSNBC, 2012). In this case the publicity was negative and possibly could
have been avoided had Dow not opted to join the other sponsors. Although there is a possibility for
negative publicity, opportunity to reach global audiences greatly outweighs the potential for negative
publicity. Billions of dollars are spent by businesses to win the hearts and minds of a global audience.
Visa paid around $100 million for the privilege of being one of the London Games top sponsors along
with Coca Cola, McDonald s, and Procter Gamble (Ross, 2012). Although this is

Zombies Rights In The Serpent And The Rainbow
Another example of zombies not having rights is seen in the film, The Serpent and the Rainbow
(1988), which raises another one of Thagard s questions about whether zombies raised from the dead
have different rights than viral/infected zombies. In the film, the zombies are created through a
Voodoo drug. The Vodou master controls these corpses and makes them do whatever he wants them to
do. This is seen towards the end of the film, when the main character, Dennis, is controlled the Vodou
master. This is similar to one of the forms Kordas talks about in the quote previously mentioned. The
film is another example of zombies being servants and following the will of someone else. Most
zombie films, nowadays, features diseases and infections that turn people into zombies. ... Show more

Masaccios The Tribute Money

Masaccio s The Tribute Money
The artist who epitomizes the innovative spirit of early 15th century Florentine painting was Tommaso
di ser Giovanni di Mone Cassai, known as Masaccio (Kleiner 241). The name meant clumsy Tom or
hulking Tom. Masaccio s mother Mona Jacopa di Martinozzo gave birth to him at the Castel San
Giovanni, the modern San Giovanni Valdarno on December 21, 1401. Which happens to be located in
the upper Arno Vally about 30 miles from Florence. Masaccio s father was a notary named Ser
Giovanni Cassai, a surname which came from his grandfather s job as a maker of wooden chests or
cassoni , and his mother was Mona Jacoba di Martinozzo, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This painting is a picture of the story from the Bible, the gospel of Matthew. Masaccio made the
followers circle around Jesus instead of following behind in a line which furthermore lead you to
believe he was teaching something. Ancient Roman painters used aerial perspective, medieval artists
had abandoned it. Thus, it virtually disappeared from art until Masaccio and his contemporaries
rediscovered it. They came to realize that the light and air interposed between viewers and what they
see are two parts of the visual experience called distance (Kleiner 242). Masaccio s painting helps to
remind people of the law that was set by the one we serve, which was to pay your taxes. Yes that did
come from God for those who do not know history. The story of Matthew is a great example of why
we pay taxes and Masaccio made a master piece by creating a visual of the story. The Tribute Money
itself alludes in some way to Man s separate duties to the State and to the Church. In it St Peter is
instructed by Christ to pay a tax to the civil authority. This must certainly be a reference to the
obligations of the Roman Church towards secular authority; it probably also refers to each individual
man s obligation to render separately to God and to Caesar that which is due to them (Visual Arts).
In conclusion, Masaccio was an outstanding artist. His piece that was inspired by other artist still
inspires us today. We can only

The Rise And Fall Of The Aztec Empire
The fall of the great Aztec Empire led to the demise and destruction of the prized capital, Tenochtitlan.
Through further investigation of the fall of the Aztec Empire, I was able to get a better understanding
to how it all happened. It all started with the arrival of Hernan Cortez and his army of men in 1519.
The great Aztec leader of Montezuma sent a messenger with gifts to warmly greet the new Spanish
people. Cortez accepted the gifts of the Aztec people, but in a way laughed as to say is this all? Cortez
and his men then demonstrated the brute force of their cavalry, horses and cannons. His cavalry
charged along the beach at full tilt with swords flashing and bells tinkling. If that were not
intimidating enough, the big cannon were fired,

Single Point Incremental Forming Of Conventional Holes...
Single Point Incremental Forming Conventional hole flanging is a forming procedure used to make
round or awry flanges. In this procedure, a holed sheet, inflexibly settle to a pass on with a clear
holder, is plastically distorted chiefly by bending and circumferential extending with a punch. In hole
flanging by single point incremental forming (SPIF), a level sheet with a pre cut hole is shaped by a
solitary point rotating instrument that continuously delivers a smooth, round flanged lip. The forming
device is driven by a CNC machine taking after continuously a pre built up direction. The material is
currently predominantly distorted by a mix of circumferential and outspread extending and bending.
There are numerous modern utilizations of this procedure, for example, fortifying the edge of the
holes, enhancing its appearance or giving extra backing to joining sheet parts to tubes, among others.
Single Point Incremental Forming (SPIF) is an as of late incredible sheet metal part creation procedure
that is step by step developing towards modern applicability. In this procedure a sheet metal part is
shaped in a stepwise manner by a CNC controlled spherical rotating tool without the requirement for a
supporting (fractional) die. This system permits a moderately quick and shabby production of small
series of sheet metal parts.
In the SPIF procedure generic, freestyle shapes can be created utilizing a standard, circular, CNC
controlled instrument. The procedure begins

Self Management In Nursing
Every year approximately 795,000 people in United States are diagnosed with stroke. Stroke is one of
the leading causes of severe long term disability in the US (American Stroke Association [ASA],
2017). The incidence of stroke is expected to rise due to the age related demographic changes
(Mozaffarian et al., 2015). Integration of self management by healthcare systems into the discharge
teaching and its promotion during rehabilitation period is an important step in the management of long
term condition (Jones et al., 2015). Therefore, the explanation of the meaning of self management and
the availability of the related programs could be a beneficial recourse to the patents being discharged
from a hospital after stroke. The purpose of this paper is to analyze several qualitative articles related

Brand Community
EXTENDING THE CONCEPT OF BRAND COMMUNITY:
BUILDING COMMITMENT IN THE CHARITY SECTOR
ABSTRACT
The paper introduces a model of brand community development that is extended to the nonprofit
sector; a sector that has just recently begun to embrace relationship marketing. It is believed that brand
communities represent a unique form of relationship marketing, with benefits that are particularly
compelling for nonprofits. Indeed, the paper reveals that many of the characteristics of brand
communities already exist to some extent within the culture and/or fundraising efforts of charitable
organizations. The article offers a number of research propositions for research into the influence of
brand community markers and mechanisms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, contributions to charity comprise a substantial portion of the average household budget, over
5% of gross income according to Smith (1980). Individuals also donate a substantial portion of their
time to charities, time estimated to be worth roughly the equivalent of the financial contributions
(Smith 1980). Given these statistics, it is easy to see why the charity donor relationship is so important
to charitable organizations. However, a study conducted for the Direct Marketing Association revealed
that donors also feel it is important to have meaningful relationships with nonprofit organizations
(Association Management 1996). And yet, the desire for close relationships does not guarantee full
coffers or a full roster of volunteers. For although baby boomers indicate that they intend to give
more, they are cynical of charities and demand greater accountability for how their donations are used,
as well as tangible evidence of the good that this money is doing (Fund Raising Management 1999a).
The goal of the current paper is to extend the concept of brand community to the nonprofit sector.
Although this sector is nascent with respect to its appreciation for, and adoption of, relationship
marketing, it is believed that the brand community concept is

Application Of Free Space Optics
Introduction
Free Space Optics is an advance technology used to transmit data from one point to another using light
a medium. This technology has emerged in 1960 s and has been advanced day by day. This has
become the advanced and mostly used because of the data rates and the bandwidths provided by this
type of communication. This is now mostly used for connecting different LANs and also used in
satellite communication. There are many wireless technologies like Bluetooth, infrared and many
others but this technology has the capability of replacing all those technologies. This FSO
communication is mostly used because of its security reasons.
Fiber optical link communication has been the best kind of transmission in this era however this FSO
communication additionally supplanted this fiber optic communication in numerous territories. As this
is a remote innovation, it has the favorable circumstances when contrasted with wired advances. As
we have an advancement of innovations like RF Wireless transmission over the wireless
transmissions, electrical sign transmission over copper and coaxial links, light transmission over
optical fiber links and now this Free Space Optics technology has advanced. This optical system has
the capacity of convey the voice, feature and information over light flags. As the technology included
in optical fiber is comparative yet in that kind of communication, optical strands are utilized and the

Philippines Imperialization
The independence of the Philippines brought a new hope to the citizens that they would finally be able
to govern themselves. Imperialization from the Spanish in the 1500 s, followed by U.S. control up
until the end of World War II left the country hungry for economic resources and trustworthy leaders.
Even with independence from the United States, they were unable to escape from unethical, elite
leaders that were favored by the US government. Numerous citizens and nationalist leaders attempted
to revive the economy multiple times, yet there was always some way it would fail. Although there

Often, the social order for most imperialized countries are for the benefit of the colonizing country
rather than the people themselves (Scipes). This held true for the Philippines, as their economy was
mostly controlled by the US. In another article, author Kathleen Weekley claims that, the American
administration tried to eradicate Filipino nationalism when it threatened US interests . By ignoring
nationalist pleas for economic reform, they treated the Philippines differently than other postwar Asian
countries; they implemented [reforms] on Japan, Korea and Taiwan, (Weekley) while putting no effort
on the Philippines. Even after their independence, the United States continued to maintain a close
relationship with the Philippine government. However, when they were in need of resources and

Come along as an adventure through time takes launch. From the interim of Arthur Miller s birth and
death, he wrote some of America s greatest plays which are known all around the world. This world
renowned screenwriter and playwright is arguably considered the best playwright of the 20th century.
We start our journey here on October 17, 1915 in Harlem, New York where Miller was born. Arther
Miller was the son of Isidore and Augusta, a Polish and Jewish Immigrant family who owned a

his first play, No Villain. This play won him the school s Avery Hopwood Award and sparked the

Swot Analysis Of Braum s Incorporation
Braum s Incorporation is a vertically integrated company (owns multiple segments of industry and
merges them together) which allows them to produce their products to the quality and standards they
want. The corporation produces meat, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables. They have 280 stores
located throughout Kansas, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, and the majority located in Oklahoma, where
their headquarters are (About Us 2016). The chains of stores located in these areas provide
hamburgers, ice cream, and a small grocery store for their customers. Although Braum s provides all
of these commodities they re mainly known for their ice cream. When it comes to the production of
these products and how much the company should produce each year many factors come into play.
Some of these factors include weather, taxes for that year, wage increases, outbreaks of pests
destroying crops, human error in the production line, increased gas and diesel fuel prices, and so on.
Many of these factors are random events from nature or a new law implemented by the government
that puts strict regulations on the production of a certain product. For instance, in 2014, a major
drought occurred in the Midwest states, which resulted in low water resources and the reduction of
feed for cattle produced that year. This resulted in an increase in beef prices and the reduction of beef
produced for that year (Midwest 2014). Events like this can make or break a business and it s up to the

The tragic hero s downfall can easily be paralleled against the idea of darkness encompassing the
haunting and negative tolls taken on Macbeth due to bloodshed and fear. Toward the beginning of the
play, Macbeth asks, Let not light see my black and deep desires (1.4.53). By this, Macbeth is begging
that the stars and light be gone in order to disguise his true desires of power, bloodlust, and murder.
Shakespeare uses darkness throughout the play to illustrate Macbeth s inner turmoil, but uses light to
depict Banquo s inner peace, thus making them foils. Banquo is in desperation for lightness when
stating, Hold, take my sword. There s husbandry in heaven;/ Their candles are all out (2.1.4 5), unlike
Macbeth who is desperate for complete darkness. The pair s requests mirror the depths of their true
personalities of Banquo s good verses Macbeth s evil. In a critical article, L.C. Knights determined
that The main theme of the reversal of values is given out simply and clearly in the first scene Fair is

darkness into which Macbeth will plunge himself. (Knights). This analysis of the characters shifts in
personality traits and points of views is supported numerous times within examples of Shakespeare s
darkness imagery. The blurred line between what

The Restoration Of Grecian Philosophical Documents
The Preservation of Grecian Philosophical Documents Was an Important Islamic Contribution to
Western Civilization
Islamic preservation and translation of the Greek philosophical works of Aristotle, and Plato
contributed to the flourishing of Western civilization. Under the direction of Islamic cultural patrons,
they translated these vital texts from Greek into other languages. Such actions were significantly
contributive to the revival and transmission of these pieces, bringing about their subsequent spread
throughout Europe. Centuries of Islamic scholarship like this were crucial to the eventual emergence
of the European Renaissance Period.
The anterior exposure of the Arab world to Greek philosophy follows paths reaching back to the sixth
century C.E. A common occurrence among Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, were their interactions
with Greek philosophy, and their attempts to reconcile their religious dogmas with the Greek
philosophical known truths of reason; trying to marry faith with reason. Commonalities between their
interactions produced a naturally occurring process of sharing respective religious and philosophical
problems, and it is in the latter that Islamic philosophers deserve much credit from Judaism and
Christianity, for the Abbasid caliphate s deference to translation and preservation of key Aristotelian
(and other) works long lost to the West. The irony of this sharing between religions remains that each
was using the similar material to try and prove

Katherina The Shrew
How does Shakespeare utilise Katherina as a comic tool
Eliza
The Taming of the Shrew is famous for its fast paced and witty dialogue, and possesses one of
Shakespeare s greatest female characters, Katherina the Shrew. The plot, derived from the popular war
of the sexes theme in which a male and female are pitted against each other for dominance in
marriage, has the uneasy feel that comedy is made of the pushing of boundaries. It uses the
controversies that laughter induced as a radical anti authoritarian form. Katherina, in the plot, is
reputed through Padua as a foul tempered and sharp tongued shrew, who constantly insults and
degrades men around her, resulting in her never finding a suitor, which seemingly puts the
conventions of comedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is difficult to believe a character as strong willed and vibrant as Katherina is changed so easily.
Employing the humorous device of false realities that Shakespeare set in place so early in the play, it
would seem more logical that Katherine would simply be acting the part of the obedient wife in order
to be accepted in the society in which she lives. Katherine can play a part very well and can even
enjoy doing it. For example, on the road to Padua from Petruchio s house when Kate is forced to
address Vincentio as a woman and says Young budding virgin, fair and fresh and sweet (Act 4,
Scene1). The most significant evidence to support this theory comes from the scene where Kate finally
breaks and agrees to play along with Petruchio s game of make believe. The final speech, then, can be
seen as an extension of Kate s newfound ability to role play , or act. This theory is particularly
appealing because the entire play is very much interested in the theatricality of everyday life and the
performance aspects of gender roles. This creates a comic parallel with the induction, when
Bartholomew tacitly plays the part of an obedient noblemans wife under the direction of the lord.
After analysis, one may think the play is actually, in fact, a comedy about an assertive woman coping
with how she is expected to behave in the society of the late 16th century and how one must obey the
unwritten rules of society. Consequently the play ends with her outwardly conforming to the norms of
society, Thy husband is they lord, thy life, they keeper, thy head, they sovereign...(women) when they
are bound to serve, love and obey . However this is in action only, not in mind. Although she assumes
the role of the obedient wife, inwardly she still retains her

19 May 2017
.........An analysis of oppression and resistance in Alice Walker s The Colour Purple (1982) and
Lawrence Hill s The Book of Negroes (2007).
Historically, it is widely known that during times of segregation and the slave industry that oppression
was common towards African Americans and that white supremacy was prominent. Alice Walker s
award winning The Colour Purple (1982) is a narrative, told through the perspective of a poor,
uneducated, African American named Celie, who is writing letters to God. Through her letters readers
learn of her abuse, and her experience with being bought and sold away from home, far from the ones
she loves. With that perspective readers are educated on the trials ... Show more content on

Readers are educated on the double edged sword of being both black and a female. Walker does this
by by expressing how gender oppression complicates racial oppression. Black female characters not
only had to face slavery and racism but also sexism and abuse, mentally, physically and sexually. This
was encountered by both white and black male characters. The black males in the novel are portrayed
as cruel, as they live in a world where white men rule and feel like less of a man and because of this
they take out their anger and frustration on the black females. Walker starts her novel with Celie s
letter describing the brutal rape by her father. Walker writes He just say you gonna do what your
mammy wouldn t. First he put his thing up against my hip ... when that hurt I cry. He start to choke
me, saying you better shut up and git used to it. (1) In comparison to the white male characters, Celie s
father feel as if he has very little worth, therefore taking out his frustration on his daughters. Readers
learn that Fonso impregnated Celie twice, disposing of both children, and once he got bored he turned
his attention towards Nettie. Celie is also raped daily by Mr.__. He would try to convince her that
since they are married she is obligated to have sex with him whenever he wants, but when she wouldn
t oblige he would beat her then forcefully rape her. Walker writes Just finish my business, get off and
go to sleep. Mr__ also asserts his male dominance by beating her in front of people. Walker writes, He
beat me today cause he say I winked at a boy in church. I may have got something in my eye but I
didn t wink. I don t even look at mens, I m too scared of them. This quote shows how fearful Celie is
of the male character both black and white. She doesn t say i m scared of white men , she openly
writes of her fear of all men. She s afraid to look or speak with them as she knows it will result

Emma Burke s point of view of the earthquake in Comprehending the Calamity was that it was
violent, and hard to understand. She states that No one can comprehend the calamity to San Francisco
in its entirety... (Burke, 1). This explains to us that the damage caused by the earthquake must have
been devastating.. She also describes the extreme force of the earthquake, saying The shock came, and
hurled my bed against an opposite wall... It grew constantly worse, the noise deafening; the crash of
dishes... the groaning and straining of the building itself (1). By describing the enormous event in
detail, we can get a sense of just how bad every building was shaking and crumbling.

You should start by reading your recipe carefully and understand it. Make sure you have all the
ingredients needed to bake the cookie. The most important thing in baking is care and accuracy is a
must for the cookie to be perfect. Your cooking tools should be good and use standard measuring
spoons and cups. The pan should be the correct size, and then prepare it as instructed in the recipe.
Your ingredients should be top quality, fresh and set according to the recipe. If the recipe states that an
ingredient should be at room temperature, make sure it is that way. Baking powder can be tested for
potency by adding it to hot water; it should bubble if it is good. Mix baking powder to the flour before
adding the other wet ingredients to ensure even distribution of the powder. All ingredients should be at
room temperature for perfect cookies unless the recipe states otherwise. Measure your ingredients

Second Great Awakening Movement
A second great awakening emerged toward the end of the eighteenth century in New England. Unlike
the first great awakening, this movement of the Holy Spirit used intellectual institutions of higher
learning as the spark that ignited this awakening that eventually spread across this new nation. Yale
University with its president, Timothy Dwight, the grandson of Jonathan Edwards is seen as one
ignition points of this movement. The early fruit of this movement included the founding of many
organizations dedicated to making the gospel known across this new land and across the globe.
Mission organizations such as the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions are seen as
a direct fruit of this movement.
Another important outcome of this movement is seen in the breaking down of ethnic origins and
religious affiliations. In other words, as immigrants flooded into America and moved west into the
new frontier, religious affiliations they brought with them faded away. An example of how this worked
is seen in the Methodist camp meetings and the circuit riding Methodist preachers who brought the
gospel into these new areas and to the new citizens living in these areas. These camp meetings often
lasted for days with many coming to the Lord as the Holy Spirit moved across and through this new
land. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Canadian T.V. Serials
Now sex workers are commonly represented in the fictional universes created in Canadian T.V. and
film as women who are down on their luck and who have found their way into the trade because they
had to. Canadian T.V. has traditionally not incorporated prostitution into very many of our programs
just due to the sheer nature of why Canadian T.V. is produced.
CBC, Rogers, and Bell CTV effectively own all national Canadian T.V. channels. The entertainment
based fictional television programs they produce generally appeal to the widest audience possible.
Because of that, lewd or profane subjects and/or language are generally not included in these
presentations.
It is rare to see an exploration of prostitution in any sort of realistic way in Canadian television
however that doesn t mean they aren t incorporated into programs now and again. When they are
however, they are generally played up cute and in a way where the nature of their trade isn t explicitly
defined but rather merely implied.

Within American culture and society professional sports, especially football, has always been a major
component. It has been used for entertainment as well as promoting and encouraging qualities and

thing it promotes? Football is essentially a battle to obtain power over the other team using strength

off the idea of guilt as an encourager rather than the idea to persevere and win from hard work and

Forming an Opinion of Others based on Wealth Essay
Imagine a world where everyone wears the same types and colors of clothing, and listens to the same

would appear bland and boring; with no changes or differences in nearly all aspects of life. For most
people, what is worn and listened to, affects how others are viewed through the eyes of everyone else
and is used to express opinions and personality.
Typically, 2 people will form an opinion of others within the first 3 seconds of meeting one another.

Not A Student Loan For College Essay
Abstract
The decision to attend college for most individuals yield promise of advancement in being able to

Krzysztof Sujata s Valiska Essay
Calgary musician Krzysztof Sujata s Valiska project makes music that toes the line between ambient
and drone often relying on peaceful soundscapes dotted with piano to set a framework, then
occasionally building to a towering crescendo with a web of static. It s all very naturally motivated,
though fittingly for its album art, Repetitions is sparsely organic, with plenty of room to breathe chilly
and cozy breaths. It s a record that challenges you to take much from very little over 40 minutes, there
is rarely any rhythmic movement. It s true ambient music, and while it sometimes falls into uninspired
territory, Repetitions is still quite an interesting, minimalistic world to explore.
Clearing , the album s seven minute opener, sets the tone here to looped woodwinds and pianos, it
spins a thoughtful and experimental kind of patchwork of melodies. The song s second half works
through this same strange melody with reversed pianos, an unofficial musical motif for the record.

erupts into a hazy throbbing bass, then cools down with an organ sound on the periphery, which

The laser and the double slit may not have been correctly aligned in a straight line that is perfectly

character analysis and stylystic writing serve to highlight his journey into the dark and mysterious
African jungle and gives us an introspective view of the darkness of the human soul. Reality, strikes in
Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness , through the three dimentional depth of its characters. It offers
directness to anyone interested in facing darkness around and perhaps darkness within them. The
concept of an individual comparing oneself to another individual becomes the root of all evil. In the

All implications are to be looked at closely. The initial association with darkness is the obvious lack of

Family Is An Definition Of Family
What is a family? The definition of family can be defined in many different ways. According to
Merriam Webster s definition of family is, A group of people related to each other (Merriam Webster
1). Although family can be defined as a relative, it can also mean a group of people who share the
qualities of a family, such as caring, loving, and supportive. When playing in a team sport, it is
necessary that all of the teammates share a special bond. During the previous volleyball season, the
team struggled to find a connection between the players because they had never played together nor
were all of them friends outside of volleyball. As the season progressed, the bond between all of the
players grew despite some challenges. The team ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sister and brother had different views about women in ministry, for she is a minister herself, but
what matters most is that they got past their disagreements to work together for a fellow family
member. They could have just decided to have one of them plan the wedding if they were unable to
come to an agreement, but they got past it. The siblings were able to have a loving relationship
through communication, support, and compromise. To add, Some people face similar situations when
they are coming out to their family if they are gay or lesbian. In fact, it has been proven better for their
health. According to an article titled, Coming Out as Gay Can Have Health Benefits If Family is
Supportive: Study describes a recent study done by Boston University School of Public Health about
the positive effects of coming out. It reads, Two thirds of lesbian, gay and bisexual adults in a
representative Massachusetts sample experienced significantly less mental health and substance abuse
problems if they received positive support from their parents after coming out (The Huffington Post
1). Evidently, a supportive family has some life changing effects to their children and their sexuality
because if the family is not supportive, it can cause problems like drugs and suicidal thoughts.
Additionally, a family should not only

History Of Teacher Observation And Evaluation
History of Teacher Observation and Evaluation
Initially, education was not recognized as a professional discipline or field of study. Teachers were
considered community servants instead of professional educators. Local government officials and
members of the clergy were responsible for hiring teachers and making judgments about their teaching
abilities. It was believed that clergymen were the best choices for this role due to their extensive levels
of education and their alleged ability to guide religious instruction in schools (Tracy, 1995). Individual
supervisors or supervisory committees were responsible for overseeing the quality of instruction.
These supervisors had nearly unlimited power to establish criteria for effective instruction and to hire
and fire teachers (Burke Krey, 2005). Since there was no consensus on the importance or
qualifications of educational expertise, the type and quality of feedback that teachers received varied
significantly.
In the early1800s, more complex school systems began to emerge once the industrial movement
emerged. As the schools and districts grew, this created a demand for teachers who had expertise in
specific disciplines. Not long thereafter, it became apparent that clergy members did not have the
proper training for the role, nor did they have the necessary knowledge to make informed judgments
about teacher effectiveness. Rather than simply understanding the mores of the community, the
supervisor now needed to have subject

Ivan Erinsovich Fittest Quotes
Can a man who s warm understand one who s freezing?
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Sitting amidst thousands of other sentences in this novel, this particular formation of words stand out
above the rest. It is not a long sentence, nor does it look like much to one who may have just skimmed
over it, however this quote speaks volumes not only for this book, but also for humanity as a whole.
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich stirs up many emotions; controversy over authoritative
oppression, living under a Stalinist approach in government, as well as survival of the fittest. These
themes are extremely relevant to the quote at the beginning of this passage, as well as to the
groundbreaking novel. In the beginning of the story, the prisoners are ... Show more content on

This surrenders the zeks to the supremacy of big guys. The guards even drown out a sense of natural
daylight or darkness with the high beams of the surveillance lights. By taking away something so
simple as knowing what time of day it is, these prisoners are relinquished of any and all daily
privileges a normal human being would have all thanks to the mercilessness of Stalin and his cohorts.
Another well suited sub theme is survival of the fittest. Although some of these men do befriend each
other and Shukov himself seems to have a handful of acquaintances among his gang, in such an
environment there is a sense of every man for himself. I believe that is why small things like Shukov s
pal Fetyukov saving a breakfast bowl for him helps him appreciate his luck at the very end of the day.
Survival ranks highest in importance to the zeks. Among this importance is also attitude; one s
approach is a fundamental factor in survival since prisoners are each assigned work tasks, it is
considered good manners to conform and obey. This is idea is drawn through Ivan s friend Fetyukov, a
ministry worker who let himself into prison and narrowly respects forced work camp

Political Allegory In George Orwell s Animal Farm
In global political scenario, December 30, 1921 is, arguably, one of the most important days of the
20th century. On this particular day, an unprecedented history was created; Union of Soviet Socialist
Republics (USSR), world s first socialist state was born out of the historical Great October Socialist
Revolution . In the long run, USSR/ Soviet Union was not the perfect nation by any means, yet it s
hard to deny the fact that unprecedented changes happened in the world, directly or indirectly, because
of its historic creation, imposing presence, and major league influence in global politics until its
ultimate demise in 1991. Like the political scenario, world literature was also changing its face during
mid twentieth century, and the issue of communism had become one of the prominent subjects in the
writings of that time. Animal Farm, a novella written by a popular 20th century English writer George
Orwell, is both an allegory and satire of the socialist state of Soviet Union. His own experience of
fighting against the totalitarian communists in Spain in 1938 turned Orwell into one of the most
astringent critics of Joseph Stalin and his corrupted autocratic regime in the Soviet Russia. Widely
considered as one of the best books of 20th century, Animal Farm is written in simple language but is
vastly rich of allegories and satire. I have chosen this literature for my research paper, and I will be
using it to argue that even though Orwell criticized the socialist

These brothers had a New York based paper company manufacturing papers based boxes normally for
restaurants and shopping malls but the original intent was Oyster pails. While some other historians
have different thoughts about modern takeout boxes. They exemplify that these boxes came from
Hazleton Pennsylvania more or less 100 miles from New York City. Early shape was the box of fold
over cardboard, layered on the inside, among the wire knobs but truly the genuine emblem of market,
inventiveness and unfussiness. Historians are agreed on one point that these boxes are originated from
Japan but convincingly known as an American

People should be judged based on their actions and not by their fashion choices. Passing judgement based on looks can hurt others and cause issues in society. Some people are required to dress in a certain fashion, but that does not determine whether they are good or bad. I chose this argument topic because it involves my major in fashion and also an issue for which I can relate. The study of fashion and sociology can relate in some ways, therefore, this would be an interesting argumentative research topic. The first key point that I can use in my essay would be that children, especially teenagers, are judge by their peers based on their fashion choices. This claim supports my argument by showing that teenagers that are judged harshly, often feel forced to dress a certain way to be accepted. The second key point that I can use is that people of different cultures are expected to behave a certain way or have certain beliefs based on their attire. This key point supports my argument to show that stereotyping people based in their culture can cause result in issues within society. The last key point that I can use is that fashion choices express how someone feels and not how they are. Someone s style of fashion can change at any time or frequency, depending on how he or she feels at certain times, or in a specific situation. Created in 2001, Scrum has taken over as the development framework of choice by business and companies [7]. Scrums counterpart, the Waterfall Methodology has taken a back seat to Scrum. The traditional developmental framework used by companies and businesses previously was The Waterfall Methodology. When Scrum got developed it created a better understanding of how to develop projects in iterations rather than a linear waterfall style. Scrum is a developmental framework that is done in iterations and can be implemented on many different projects. This paper will go more into depth about the Scrum Methodology, The Three Artifacts, The Three Roles, Scrum Ceremonies, and The Waterfall Methodology. 1. Introduction/Background Scrum is a simple framework used to organize teams and get work done more productively with higher quality [7]. Scrum provides a productive working environment in which it allows teams to choose the amount of work to be done and how to best complete the work. The application of Scrum enforces a few simple rules that have the potential to make a team self organized into process that can achieve 5 to 10 times the productivity of a waterfall based process [5]. Dow is an example of a company who have received negative publicity during the Olympic Games. The company has been criticized for its alleged involvement with the pesticide plant accident that killed thousands of people in India. Almost all publicity from Dow becoming one of the eleven major games sponsors has been negative, and just about every story written about Dow associates the company s name with Bhopal, one of the world s worst industrial disasters (MSNBC, 2012). Rights groups, athletes, and politician have spoken out against Dow and signed petitions against Dow s participation. The company paid nearly $11 million for fabric panels to wrap around the London Olympic stadium, but to assuage public protest, Dow agreed not to put its logo on the decoration (MSNBC, 2012). In this case the publicity was negative and possibly could have been avoided had Dow not opted to join the other sponsors. Although there is a possibility for negative publicity, opportunity to reach global audiences greatly outweighs the potential for negative publicity. Billions of dollars are spent by businesses to win the hearts and minds of a global audience. Masaccio made the followers circle around Jesus instead of following behind in a line which furthermore lead you to believe he was teaching something. Ancient Roman painters used aerial perspective, medieval artists had abandoned it. Thus, it virtually disappeared from art until Masaccio and his contemporaries rediscovered it. They came to realize that the light and air interposed between viewers and what they see are two parts of the visual experience called distance (Kleiner 242). Masaccio s painting helps to remind people of the law that was set by the one we serve, which was to pay your taxes. Yes that did come from God for those who do not know history. The story of Matthew is a great example of why we pay taxes and Masaccio made a master piece by creating a visual of the story. The Tribute Money itself alludes in some way to Man s separate duties to the State and to the Church. In it St Peter is instructed by Christ to pay a tax to the civil authority. This must certainly be a reference to the obligations of the Roman Church towards secular authority; it probably also refers to each individual man s obligation to render separately to God and to Caesar that which is due to them (Visual Arts). Given these statistics, it is easy to see why the charity donor relationship is so important to charitable organizations. • 22. The Restoration Of Grecian Philosophical Documents The Preservation of Grecian Philosophical Documents Was an Important Islamic Contribution to Western Civilization Islamic preservation and translation of the Greek philosophical works of Aristotle, and Plato contributed to the flourishing of Western civilization. Under the direction of Islamic cultural patrons, they translated these vital texts from Greek into other languages. Such actions were significantly contributive to the revival and transmission of these pieces, bringing about their subsequent spread throughout Europe. Centuries of Islamic scholarship like this were crucial to the eventual emergence of the European Renaissance Period. The anterior exposure of the Arab world to Greek philosophy follows paths reaching back to the sixth century C.E. A common occurrence among Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, were their interactions with Greek philosophy, and their attempts to reconcile their religious dogmas with the Greek philosophical known truths of reason; trying to marry faith with reason. Commonalities between their interactions produced a naturally occurring process of sharing respective religious and philosophical problems, and it is in the latter that Islamic philosophers deserve much credit from Judaism and Christianity, for the Abbasid caliphate s deference to translation and preservation of key Aristotelian (and other) works long lost to the West. The irony of this sharing between religions remains that each was using the similar material to try and prove ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Katherina The Shrew How does Shakespeare utilise Katherina as a comic tool Eliza The Taming of the Shrew is famous for its fast paced and witty dialogue, and possesses one of Shakespeare s greatest female characters, Katherina the Shrew. The plot, derived from the popular war of the sexes theme in which a male and female are pitted against each other for dominance in marriage, has the uneasy feel that comedy is made of the pushing of boundaries. It uses the controversies that laughter induced as a radical anti authoritarian form. Katherina, in the plot, is reputed through Padua as a foul tempered and sharp tongued shrew, who constantly insults and degrades men around her, resulting in her never finding a suitor, which seemingly puts the conventions of comedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is difficult to believe a character as strong willed and vibrant as Katherina is changed so easily. Employing the humorous device of false realities that Shakespeare set in place so early in the play, it would seem more logical that Katherine would simply be acting the part of the obedient wife in order to be accepted in the society in which she lives. Katherine can play a part very well and can even enjoy doing it. For example, on the road to Padua from Petruchio s house when Kate is forced to address Vincentio as a woman and says Young budding virgin, fair and fresh and sweet (Act 4, Scene1). The most significant evidence to support this theory comes from the scene where Kate finally breaks and agrees to play along with Petruchio s game of make believe. The final speech, then, can be seen as an extension of Kate s newfound ability to role play , or act. This theory is particularly appealing because the entire play is very much interested in the theatricality of everyday life and the performance aspects of gender roles. This creates a comic parallel with the induction, when Bartholomew tacitly plays the part of an obedient noblemans wife under the direction of the lord. After analysis, one may think the play is actually, in fact, a comedy about an assertive woman coping with how she is expected to behave in the society of the late 16th century and how one must obey the unwritten rules of society. Consequently the play ends with her outwardly conforming to the norms of society, Thy husband is they lord, thy life, they keeper, thy head, they sovereign...(women) when they are bound to serve, love and obey . However this is in action only, not in mind. Although she assumes the role of the obedient wife, inwardly she still retains her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alice Walker Oppression Alicia Sanchez Dr.D.Hayes ENG4U1 19 May 2017 .........An analysis of oppression and resistance in Alice Walker s The Colour Purple (1982) and Lawrence Hill s The Book of Negroes (2007). Historically, it is widely known that during times of segregation and the slave industry that oppression was common towards African Americans and that white supremacy was prominent. Alice Walker s award winning The Colour Purple (1982) is a narrative, told through the perspective of a poor, uneducated, African American named Celie, who is writing letters to God. Through her letters readers learn of her abuse, and her experience with being bought and sold away from home, far from the ones she loves. With that perspective readers are educated on the trials ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Readers are educated on the double edged sword of being both black and a female. Walker does this by by expressing how gender oppression complicates racial oppression. Black female characters not only had to face slavery and racism but also sexism and abuse, mentally, physically and sexually. This was encountered by both white and black male characters. The black males in the novel are portrayed as cruel, as they live in a world where white men rule and feel like less of a man and because of this they take out their anger and frustration on the black females. Walker starts her novel with Celie s letter describing the brutal rape by her father. Walker writes He just say you gonna do what your mammy wouldn t. First he put his thing up against my hip ... when that hurt I cry. He start to choke me, saying you better shut up and git used to it. (1) In comparison to the white male characters, Celie s father feel as if he has very little worth, therefore taking out his frustration on his daughters. Readers learn that Fonso impregnated Celie twice, disposing of both children, and once he got bored he turned his attention towards Nettie. Celie is also raped daily by Mr.__. He would try to convince her that since they are married she is obligated to have sex with him whenever he wants, but when she wouldn t oblige he would beat her then forcefully rape her. Walker writes Just finish my business, get off and go to sleep. Mr__ also asserts his male dominance by beating her in front of people. Walker writes, He beat me today cause he say I winked at a boy in church. I may have got something in my eye but I didn t wink. I don t even look at mens, I m too scared of them. This quote shows how fearful Celie is of the male character both black and white. She doesn t say i m scared of white men , she openly writes of her fear of all men. Unlike the first great awakening, this movement of the Holy Spirit used intellectual institutions of higher learning as the spark that ignited this awakening that eventually spread across this new nation. Yale University with its president, Timothy Dwight, the grandson of Jonathan Edwards is seen as one ignition points of this movement. The early fruit of this movement included the founding of many organizations dedicated to making the gospel known across this new land and across the globe. Another important outcome of this movement is seen in the breaking down of ethnic origins and religious affiliations. These supervisors had nearly unlimited power to establish criteria for effective instruction and to hire and fire teachers (Burke Krey, 2005). Since there was no consensus on the importance or qualifications of educational expertise, the type and quality of feedback that teachers received varied significantly. In the early1800s, more complex school systems began to emerge once the industrial movement emerged. As the schools and districts grew, this created a demand for teachers who had expertise in specific disciplines. Not long thereafter, it became apparent that clergy members did not have the proper training for the role, nor did they have the necessary knowledge to make informed judgments about teacher effectiveness. Rather than simply understanding the mores of the community, the supervisor now needed to have subject ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Ivan Erinsovich Fittest Quotes Can a man who s warm understand one who s freezing? Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn Sitting amidst thousands of other sentences in this novel, this particular formation of words stand out above the rest. It is not a long sentence, nor does it look like much to one who may have just skimmed over it, however this quote speaks volumes not only for this book, but also for humanity as a whole. One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich stirs up many emotions; controversy over authoritative oppression, living under a Stalinist approach in government, as well as survival of the fittest. These themes are extremely relevant to the quote at the beginning of this passage, as well as to the groundbreaking novel. In the beginning of the story, the prisoners are ... The guards even drown out a sense of natural daylight or darkness with the high beams of the surveillance lights. By taking away something so simple as knowing what time of day it is, these prisoners are relinquished of any and all daily privileges a normal human being would have all thanks to the mercilessness of Stalin and his cohorts. Another well suited sub theme is survival of the fittest. Although some of these men do befriend each other and Shukov himself seems to have a handful of acquaintances among his gang, in such an environment there is a sense of every man for himself. I believe that is why small things like Shukov s pal Fetyukov saving a breakfast bowl for him helps him appreciate his luck at the very end of the day. Survival ranks highest in importance to the zeks. Among this importance is also attitude; one s approach is a fundamental factor in survival since prisoners are each assigned work tasks, it is considered good manners to conform and obey. This is idea is drawn through Ivan s friend Fetyukov, a ministry worker who let himself into prison and narrowly respects forced work camp ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Political Allegory In George Orwell s Animal Farm In global political scenario, December 30, 1921 is, arguably, one of the most important days of the 20th century. On this particular day, an unprecedented history was created; Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), world s first socialist state was born out of the historical Great October Socialist Revolution . In the long run, USSR/ Soviet Union was not the perfect nation by any means, yet it s hard to deny the fact that unprecedented changes happened in the world, directly or indirectly, because of its historic creation, imposing presence, and major league influence in global politics until its ultimate demise in 1991. Like the political scenario, world literature was also changing its face during mid twentieth century, and the issue of communism had become one of the prominent subjects in the writings of that time. Animal Farm, a novella written by a popular 20th century English writer George Orwell, is both an allegory and satire of the socialist state of Soviet Union. His own experience of fighting against the totalitarian communists in Spain in 1938 turned Orwell into one of the most astringent critics of Joseph Stalin and his corrupted autocratic regime in the Soviet Russia. Widely considered as one of the best books of 20th century, Animal Farm is written in simple language but is vastly rich of allegories and satire. I have chosen this literature for my research paper, and I will be using it to argue that even though Orwell criticized the socialist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
