provides insight on the effect that sin has on the soul. In the beginning of the story Dorian is a kind
hearted man, but by the end he becomes a cold blooded murderer who thinks only about himself.
The ending is also very interesting in the sense that although Oscar Wilde escaped suspicion,

The Changes in the Way People Learn
Over time the way people learn, obtain and remember information has drastically changed and
will most likely continue to change. I will explore several of the changes from print technology,
to recording technology to computers and cellphones. Many years ago very few people knew
how to read, it was not until printing technology was improved that everyone began to learn to
read. Before printing began all books were printed by hand by specially skilled people and it
took several months to finish just one book causing them to be very rare and expensive so that
only the wealthiest people could afford them (Bernstein 109). After Gutenberg invented his
printing press which had replaceable movable letters used like stamps causing more books to be
printed at a time (Bellis). The number of books available greatly rose causing the price of the

Tim burton is a famous director who earned an Oscar nomination for best animated feature. He is
famous for his uniquely directed films such as Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and The Chocolate

can also be described as a perfect mix between Walt Disney s style and Edgar Allen Poe s style.
Throughout his widely famous movies, he uses flashbacks, non diegetic sounds, low key lightning,
and close ups in order to create strange characters that the audience sympathizes with.
First of all, Flashbacks is a cinematic technique that is often used in Burton s films, and his purpose
when using this cinematic technique is to make the audience feel sympathy for his characters
despite their oddness. An example would be when Edward Scissorhands remembers a flashback of
how he killed his inventor, so he didn t want to make the same mistake towards Kim and hurt her.
This is very significant because it reveals to the audience what Edward had to go through during

This transition completely transformed the life of Buck forever. While being transported from
place to place, his pride suffered an utter blow. He was no longer in this domain where he could
freely live. Instead, he was constantly conformed, handled, and controlled by the power of

Dr. Bergmann was Born on December 1836 Riga, Russian Baltic Provinces. He is known as the
first surgeon to use heat to sterilize surgical instruments. Dr. Bergmann came from a religious
family. His father was a Lutheran Pastor in Rujen, Livonia. His mother was a refugee from an
epidemic in Riga, thus Ernst Von Bergmann being born in the city where his mother was a refugee.

The biggest trial and misfortune for Ernst Von Bergmann came with the death of Crown Prince
and Kaiser, Frederick. Crwon Prince and Kaiser suffered from hoarseness which means having a
