1. Similar Products – film beginning analysis
There is good analysis into similar products through the analysis of
four key film opening. Analysis of the film openings pays attention
to all technical elements - mise-en-scene, cinematography,
editing and sound. Elements are discussed as a factor in genre and
establishing character/narrative, as is use of sound. At times work
is too descriptive and not enough detail on ‘why’.
Camera terminology is good but other technical elements needed
the same level of terminology.
Analysis of Shutter Island is good with detail on why director has
made his choices and the impact on the audience.

discussed, but history lacks good detail.
Good notes on conventions and themes found in chosen

More detail on box office and current popularity would be
