The document provides feedback on a student's pre-production tasks for a media production project. It reviews the student's research, planning, script, storyboard, shotlist, layouts, locations, costumes, props, actors, and equipment. The teacher found the work proficient overall but noted some areas could be improved, such as providing more evidence and analysis for research, and giving more details for pre-production planning. The teacher awarded the work a final mark of 13 out of 20 and provided a student action plan for further improvement before the final mark.

blog
1. Similar Products – film beginning analysis
There is research into similar products through the analysis of
four key film opening. Analysis of the film openings pays attention
to aspects of mise-en-scene – props, location and costume. There
is some discussion of how audiences may respond to the film
openings. Cinematography, editing and sound are discussed but
more detail in analysis and better understanding needed of why
creative decisions have been made – not just descriptions of the
scene.
Work could also have improved by discussing how this analysis
may influence own production.
Yes
2. Genre Analysis
Some good research into genre with key conventions, stars
and themes discussed. Some information is basic – did
censorship changes affect horror – but overall good work.

posters. Good detail on key conventions of genre and effect
on audience.

Teachers comments
Craig has completed his pre-production for his course work. Craig has worked at
