enriches this story with striking imagery, symbolism, and comparisons; exposing how no matter how

despondency of the boy. William Gass successfully strikes the reader from the beginning, for his two

providers who attend approximately 65% of the births at LMC. WWC s primary cesarean section rate
from March 2014 to March 2015 was 34.8%, the highest of all LMC provider groups. The primary
cesarean section rate in Colorado in 2012 was 17.4% and the Healthy People 2020 goal for primary
cesarean section is 23.9% (Osterman Martin, 2014; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,
2015). To help decrease the primary cesarean section rate at WWC and subsequently LMC, a quality
improvement project (QIP) team was formed composed of providers from WWC and administrators
and nurses at LMC. A root cause analysis was conducted and Fishbone diagram were developed (See

humans were living during that time, I still want to see how different earth was during that time so I
could confirm and add to the overall knowledge about the dinosaurs. The Cretaceous time period was
the last time period in which dinosaurs are seen. This time period spanned from 144 million years ago
(mya) to 66 mya; right after the Jurassic time period and before the Tertiary. This is a time when

Abstract: The experiment s goal was to study the effects of temperature and the rate of breakdown of
starch by fungal and bacterial amylase. In order to conduct this experiment four samples were taken
from both specimen and placed in four different temperatures. After a period of time a portion of the
sample was taken and added to a portion of starch which was then mixed with iodine. Iodine reacts
with starch to produce a change in color in the iodine from a brown to a dark purple. This serves as a
method of measuring the breakdown of the starch by the amylase by comparing the color of iodine
when mixed with starch and comparing it with the added amylase. It was also noted that because both
specimen reacted differently with the temperature change, it was concluded that thy had differing
optimal temperatures (Bacillus licheniformis reacting with an optimal temperature of 55 degrees
Celsius while Aspergillus oryzae reacted optimally with a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius). In order
to conduct the experiment, samples from both specimens were taken and placed in four test tubes all

Because we live in a modern age of much technological advancements, many students in universities
are looking to see if it is still worth buying physical textbooks or to utilize digital formats like e
textbooks as a means of efficiency or even as a way to cut costs of paying for expensive textbooks. To
understand which format is more effective, we need to study the different formats and see what are the

Defining E textbooks and Traditional Textbooks
E textbooks are often defined as texts that are able to be accessed on electronic devices. Most research
has defined them as texts that are digital and accessed via electronic screens (Rockinson Szapkiw,
Courdoff, Carter, Bennett, 2012), in which there two formats that exist. The first format is the page
fidelity e textbook and second is the reflowable digital e textbook. The page fidelity e textbook is a
simple scanned picture of the print version of a book, which can usually come in the form of a PDF

Taking a Look at Epidural Analgesia
Epidural analgesia is considered the most effective pain relief method during labour (Tamagawa
Weaver, 2012). It consists of the introduction of a local anaesthetic into the epidural space using a
needle through the lumbar intervertebral space, usually between lumbar vertebrae 3 and 4 or 2 and 3
(Peate Hamilton, 2014). The anaesthetic inhibits nerve conduction by blocking sodium channels in
nerve membranes, which in turn prevents the transmission of nerve impulses along these fibres.
Therefore, the painful stimuli transmitted from the contracting uterus and birth canal is inhibited
without consciousness impairment (Anim Somuah, Smyth and Jones, 2011).
Firstly introduced in 1898, epidural analgesic was used for operative deliveries. The introduction of
lignocaine in 1948 increased its popularity due to its faster onset and longer duration of action in
contrast to its predecessor, cocaine (Moir, 1986). Epidurals became more widely available in the
1970s when a decline in home births occurred and active management of labour was introduced
(Odibo, 2007). Currently, the rapid increase of epidural procedure rates were highlighted by the NHS
Information Centre (NHSIC) (2011) where 25% of women in England who had spontaneous and
induced onset of labour received epidural analgesia during labour between 2010 and 2011.

Gary Saul Morson entitled Building a Bridge Between Engineering and the Humanities. Ottino and
Morson discuss the importance of the fields of engineering and the humanities. The purpose of the
essay is to show how engineering and the humanities are linked together and are needed
simultaneously. Even though, Morson and Ottino adopt a weak informal tone in the middle of their
argument; the authors end their argument strong by successfully using ethos and logos to appeal to
their audience, college and university faculty and administrators.
Ottino and Morson begin with an introduction of the topic of engineering and humanities. The authors
use a jovial tone to portray the current engineering field as booming and an essential part of
innovation. They use the appeal of logos to convey the current issues with humanities programs by
suggesting, The humanities, by contrast, are in peril, with fewer students each year. Morson and
Ottino show the current state of both the engineering and humanities fields in order to emanate a sense
of urgency to the reader. This introduction shows that there is a need to fix the humanities field

The farmers wanted restrictions on railroads, buffer from market, and increase in money supply and
credit. To help achieve these desired changes, the Granges and Alliances were created. The Granges
and Alliances were organizations formed to help bring the farmers together, and help them to make
cooperatives so as to make a profit. These two systems were a large step in the emergence of the
Populist movement. The Granges were first started by Oliver H. Kelley, an Agriculture Department
official. The Grange came first and was created as a social organization for farmers. The
