The Pros And Cons Of PGH Badulla
You are the health informatician of PGH Badulla. There are no ICT officers in the hospital. On your
1st month in the hospital you realized that all the computers in the hospital are installed with pirated
copies of Microsoft Office ®.
Draft a strategic plan to address the above situation that you can forward to the hospital director for
his perusal and approval.
As the health Informatician of PGH Badulla, my first task after realizing that all the computers in the
hospital are installed with pirated copies of Microsoft office is to identify what are the ramifications of
continuing to use these pirated copies in the hospital system.
First of all I would like to pay attention to the harmful effects it would have to the computers and the
data itself.

The other option and more preferred one is to go for free and open source software.
In order to make an informed decision I would like to elaborate on the pros and cons of using either
original Microsoft office package or free and open source software.
Free and open source software as the name suggests is often free or at least much more cost effective,
whereas original Microsoft software is highly costly. Therefore using OSS as Libre office or Apache
Open Office will save a huge amount of money rather than going for original Microsoft office. And
we can install OSS in all the computers of the hospital without having to worry about licenses.
OSS is often evolving to the betterment as a large membership is involved in developing it and fixing
bugs. And since it s legal upgrading the software should not be a problem for us.
Since OSS are more flexible we can modify the software as we wish to suit our requirements.
Another benefit is that we are not restricted to a propriety system with vendor designed products
which are compatible only with each other when using an

Similarities Between Antwone Fisher And Fences
Defeating Battles In August Wilson s play, Fences, Bono says, Some people build fences to keep
people out... and other people build fences to keep people in (Wilson 61). Due to past experiences,
many people keep their anger inside and alienate the people they are close to. For example, Troy, in
Fences, experiences a rough childhood while growing up. This is brought about due to neglect by his
father. Because of this, Troy makes the decision to isolate the people who are close to him. Troy has
an affair with Alberta; therefore, he alienates Rose, his wife. Similarly, in the film Antwone Fisher, the
main character, Antwone is sexually abused in his foster home. Antwone is afraid to be in a
relationship with Cheryl because he feels he cannot allow anyone into his inner sanctum. The young,
male protagonists in both the film Antwone Fisher and the play Fences share a connection in that they
suffer from abuse during their childhoods, and now isolate themselves from others as ... Show more

Because of the hard conflicts in Troy s life, it shaped how he was treating Rose. Alberta helps Troy
escape from the real world. Troy avoided his responsibility towards Rose, repeats the same mistakes
of his father, and later dies from a heart attack . In comparison, Antwone went through a series of
counselling to help him come to terms with the past. As Davenport helped him move on with his life;
he reinforces the meaning of the word forgiveness, which means, Regard without ill will despite an
offense... (Antwone.n.pag.). This concept is something Troy was not taught in his adulthood, which
caused him to act the way he does. He does not conquer the past and deal through the issues of his
childhood. Antwone Fisher achieved a healthy lifestyle with the help of Davenport and is, therefore,
allowing Cheryl in his

The aim of this discussion is to describe the enactment...
The aim of this discussion is to describe the enactment and it s significant in an organisation and in
society as individuals interact. By analysing different work of other researcher s and using examples.
This is done to understand how enactment is achieved in any organisation.
The term enactment is the notion that is presented by the actions of the people which brings structure
and events into existence as it was described by Wieck (1988).According to Wieck (1988) this theory
involves two steps. First, preconceptions are used to set aside portions of the field of experience for
further attention, that is, perception is focused on predetermined stimuli. Second, people act within the
context of these portions of experience guided by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Enactment theory can be seen as a process whereby people achieve continuity and coordination.
Enactment occurs after a group of people has implemented a plan and succeeded in what they have
structured. For example, a group of five journalists working on one huge story that goes to print at 12
am. When observing this example one can see what Wieck has mentioned above about the
environment that carries the real object in the case of this example the environment is the news room.
As these journalists work together the stability is formed through enactment as they interact. When a
group of people work at 12 am one can conclude that this is an appropriate behaviour in an
organisation. The above explained example proves the two different ways of formation that occurs for
enactment to be achieved. The above example can also be used to prove that for enactment to be
achieved certain rules must be implemented and different roles in an organisation must be played as
the results people can corporate.

The Advantage And Disadvantages Of Being An Instrument
Being stubborn has its advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is that it leads to being dedicated
for everything you start. In middle school, specifically in fifth grade, band class and being able to
learn an instrument is first introduced to students. Many people sign up, trying out instruments until
they find one they enjoy. I, along with a handful of other people in my grade, joined a year late. Not
only was I a year late, but I also missed sign ups again, and joined a few months into my sixth grade
year. My first choice was percussion, but because I was so late, I was not able to join the percussion if
i wanted to reach up to the level my classmates were at. So I tried out on flute, saxophone, and
clarinet, and instantly fell in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It wasn t until about a month in that my band director told my class that there was a solo piece needed
on an instrument no one played in our band. She had asked if anyone wanted to learn the instrument
and the music. The room was quiet and stayed quiet until another clarinet player asked, What
instrument is it?
An oboe. Everyone started laughing. We had never even heard of this. While it seemed everyone else
just had brushed it off after having their laughs, I was intrigued. It amazed me that there was more
than just the basic 7 instruments we had first heard of. So, reluctantly, I raised my hand. I was
expecting her to be excited that someone had offered. Instead, she looked at me with worry in her eyes
and said, Are you sure? You might want to keep working with the clarinet. I didn t let that change my
mind. I nodded my head and she said, Okay, I ll bring it in tomorrow. That night, I went home and
researched everything I needed to know. From how to care for the reed, how to clean it properly, and
how to play it. I was ready.
I was excited to tell my parents. When I told them, they had almost the same reaction as my band
director. They told me I should focus on the instrument I had now. I told them I wanted to learn a
different instrument and that I was dedicated on playing it in the concert.
That week, I practiced every night. I learned the do s and dont s, the ups and downs, everything that I
needed to know. Every band class, I

Statutes Of Limitations Of Texas
STATUTES OF LIMITATIONS IN TEXAS

SUBJECT: STATUTES OF LIMITATIONS IN TEXAS
DATE: NOVEMBER 4, 2014
Dear Rick, I am writing to you to inform you of the statutes of limitations in Texas and my thoughts
on the topic. Statutes of limitations is the time period in which a lawsuit or other civil action must be
filed, as measured from the date of the incident. Statutes of limitations can apply to criminal cases,
which prohibits prosecutors from filing criminal after the passage of a specified number of years. The
statutes differ from state to state as well as the statutes for various types of civil actions and crimes.

Russian Ballet Dance In The 17th And 18th Century
Poverty and other major problems involving constant combatant situations and invasions Russia faced
in the 17th and 18th centuries led to many adaptations of performance and arts which were centered
around dancing. Due to the exclusivity of proper ballet teachings from known academies many lower
class Russian citizens were innovative in the creation of their own ballet performances. Unlike the
higher social classes who found great significance to formality and the esteem which surrounded
Russian ballet, the lower class had their own take on ballet. Lower class Russian citizens adapted
ballet dances through their peers who had commonly been instructed from a handful of other
interpretations of the dance. (Schmidt, 1988). Because the Russian ballet academies were selective
and difficult to attend many versions of the ballet were formed based upon various interpretations of
the dance. Most commonly ballet dances which were performed by those who were not receiving
ballet direction from institutions were more inventive and lively than the serious demeanor of formal
performances of Russian Ballet.
The ability of the Russian people to adapt to the popular ballet dance despite their social class
differences has great prominence in the cultural identity of the country. ... Show more content on

Celebrities And Ordinary People
Celebrities and ordinary people are identified in different categories. Celebrities are the elite or ones
who have a prodigious influence on the public. Famous people range from artist all the way down to
politicians. Ordinary people are common citizens of the world. Conventionally, this refers to one who
conducts a rudimentary life with no authentic exposure to spotlight attention. This may additionally
mean ordinary people have not accomplished as much as a celebrity. Although celebrities and ordinary
people hold different designations and lives, they are not much different from one another. Sure
enough, celebrities and regular people are disunited by an abundance of things. Of the many things
many things, the more conspicuous are lifestyle, privacy, and wealth, nevertheless, it is those very
qualities that make famous people and mundane people homogeneous.
Celebrities and ordinary people both have kindred lifestyles. Celebrities carry out relationships just
like ordinary people and enjoy quality time with their friends and family. Every human longs for the
fundamentals of love and family and longs for a simple lifestyle when it comes down to desiring
healthy relationships. Most celebrities appreciate doing simple things such as staying home, enjoying
friends and family, and watching television. Similarly, ordinary people and celebrities both face life
trials and tribulations and experience an ample amount of stress. Life mistakes and hardships are

Pros And Cons Of Adjunction
All administrative agencies including the FDA were created by the legislative branch of the
government. They are created through a process called enabling legislation. One unfamiliar with
administrative law and government might ask, what exactly is enabling legislation? Enabling
legislation is according to the dictionary, is when the legislation gives the appropriate officials the
authority to implement or enforce the law (retrieved from
https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/enabling%20legislation). According to this definition,
enabling legislation is when the legislators give agencies certain types of power to make rules and

Adjunction is the exercise of judicial powers use by an agency (retrieved from
http://administrativelaw.uslegal.com/three types of administrative agency action rulemaking
adjudication investigation/). According to this definition, adjunction deals more of a judicial process
and in many ways could take longer to get regulations passed. Both of these methods have their own
merits, but adjunction is the one that would require more due process , in a given situation. The reason
for this is that it seems rulemaking is more of a formal process, that to get ideas out there and see what
is needed in order to be beneficial to the general public. Adjunction, on the other hand, seems to be
more court based and can take much longer to get things accomplished compared to the rulemaking
process. In the case of the FDA s new regulation seems to fall under the rulemaking process rather
than the adjunction process. The reason for this is that the people that run the FDA saw that there was
a growing concern with tobacco products and the harm that they were doing and wanted to do
something in order to fix this particular issue that is a major concern in this country. Also, the FDA
saw that there old regulations on tobacco products was outdated and needed to make some changes in
order to fix some issues that have come up in recent

especially since swift and proper action against Rice did not happen until after the footage was
released. They have changed their policy to a six game suspension for a first offense, although offense
is not defined and is open for interpretation in the policy. There are still football players who continue
to play despite legal action against them in domestic violence disputes. The article continues with
pointing out the fact that the NFL cannot altogether end the problem of domestic violence in the world
today, but it can use the recent media attention to bring awareness to the problem. Although the ways
in which the NFL handled these cases previously are questionable at best, there is potential to recover
from previous mistakes by continuing to hold their athletes accountable and providing awareness on
the subject. Overall, this article did an extremely good job of pointing out the discrepancies of how the

Rene Descartes Meditations Of Philosophy
Philosophy 120: Knowledge and Reality
Submitted to Dogan Erisen D106
By: Milad Marghoob Zamany (301 314 568)
Descartes begins the Meditations of Philosophy by rendering the use of the senses as deceptive,
explaining that everything that he had perceived up till now, I accepted as most true I have acquired
either from the senses or through the senses (M.O.P,12). On the other hand, Descartes admits that God
has given us the involuntary use of these senses. If the senses cannot precisely represent the nature of
material bodies, would this not make god a deceiver? Would it not be a wiser choice to make the
intellect the essential means of perceiving the world? Descartes pursues the idea that God cannot be a
deceiver; but if God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that our senses allow us to perceive harm and allow us to avoid danger for our own well being. In
other words, God is merely giving us the most apparent way of avoiding harm for our own benefit.
Thus, eliminating the idea of a deceiving

The Economic Model Growth Of Energy
Energy is one of the main drivers of economic and social development. Years ago, the only uncertainty
was the price of oil. Now the concern is if the current economic model growth is reasonable in a world
with limited energy resources. This has lead to more research in other forms of resources of energy.
Now we have other unconventional resources such as wind, solar, geothermal, water, and so on.
Energy demand is set to double by 2050 (Beckman, 2013). Therefore, greenhouse gases could double
by 2050 as well. Hence, renewable energy is vital. However seen as fossil fuel is still the dominate
source of energy, it makes it the current economic model growth rate somewhat unreasonable.
Acceleration rate in policy, technological innovation, and consumer expectations are making the
energy market increasingly complex. We would need innovation, incentives, investments and stronger
technical standards to reduce the world s energy intensity. When the industrial revolution began, the
amount of carbon in Britain in form of coal was as much as the carbon in Saudi Arabia in from of oil.
This coal improved the economy of Great Britain in 19th and thereafter. Just as coal production had its
peak and declined thereafter, is the same way the oil production would. About 55 of the 65 oil
producing countries have already peaked in production. Many of the other countries left are expected
to follow in the near future. Modern cities are fossil fuel dependent; even roads are made from
bitumen.

It is important for the subordinates to remember the individual taking on the new managerial role was
previously just in the subordinate s position. There are many aspects of the new role to learn and the
best help the new manager can receive is support from his or her subordinates. As a person new to a
managerial role, Hill s advice in the article on learning through everyday experience by making
mistakes is extremely reassuring. Within the article, Hill elaborates on the misconception that
managers wield significant authority (Hill, 2007, p.3). Once new managers have made it to the top, it
is important for them to realize they were just in their subordinates position. Hill (2007) quotes a new
manager stating, It s humbling that someone who works for me could get me fired (Hill, p.5). From
personal experience, in the beginning, my superior has warned me it will first and foremost be my
work that pushes me to the Hartness 3 top of the company. In addition to my individual work, it will
be the relationship I build with the people under me. Lacking an effective relationship with my
subordinates will take me back to the bottom of the company. Hill lists forging good individual
relationships as a misconception (Hill, 2007, p.7). Although team building is extremely important, I
would disagree with Hill s statements on team building being more important than individual
relationships (Hill,

beatrice is the vita nuova Essay
A very poignant moment in any person s life is when they meet someone who they regard so highly
that they place on a pedestal in their mind. If ever there was a doubt of love at first sight, Dante
Alighieri disproves the disbelief with his first sighting of Beatrice in his Vita Nuova. When Dante
recounts his second encounter with Beatrice he says that she greeted him but does not state how
exactly she acknowledged him. The ineffable courtesy that she greeted him with implies that the
encounter was not spoken. Through complete silent encounters, the love Dante harbors for Beatrice
still continues to flourish. In one of Dante s sonnets he says the following: ... Show more content on

Beatrice defines Dante s being because as far as he is concerned she is the image of divinity and Christ
on earth. Dante describes Beatrice as the destroyer of all vices and queen of virtues. Although no
words were ever exchanged between the two, Dante was miserable after Beatrice s death. He wept and
mourned her death for a year and yet there was never any substantial interaction of exchanged words
to conceive what in this lady s silence to Dante could have possibly sparked such an admiration for
her. The depth that he is able to feel for this lady through silent greetings indicates that Beatrice could
possibly be an underlying representation of something highly regarded in life such as the church. She
represented the epitome of all Dante wanted from life. Although the word was never said, inferences
could be made to the symbolism that Beatrice personified. Beatrice s death symbolizes how the
innocent die for the guilty in order for the guilty to find salvation. As far as Dante is concerned,
Beatrice is the model of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Beatrice dies because of her innocence, just as Jesus
sacrificed himself for the guilty.
The extent that one man is able to feel love for a lady that never speaks a word to him is incredible.
Beatrice s greetings are what defined Dante s existence and what controlled every turn that his life
took. If Dante had not encountered Beatrice

The History of Female Genital Mutilation and Its Consequences
Female Genital Mutilation According to many Americans, female genital mutilation is one of the most
hurtful practices ever conducted. During this operation, female genitals are partly or entirely removed
with the goal of inhibiting the woman s sexual feelings. In my opinion, there is no reason for this
operation to be happening. This usually occurs before the female experiences puberty (between the
ages of four and eight). The female can suffer for days, weeks, or even months at a time. This ritual is
widely practiced in many parts of Africa and by migrants from African countries in other parts of the
world (Karmaker 20 28). If Americans research and read what people say about this operation, they
can understand what these women and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Performing this operation or having it on girls of is under the age of 18 is illegal due to the 1997 with

named Khalid Adem, he cut his two year old daughters clitoris with a pair of scissors in 2006 and was
sentenced to ten years in prison. When a female gets the surgery afterwards the scar can be reopened
before intercourse or giving birth which causes more pain for the female. Most women are getting this
surgery are the ones with a high ranking reputation in their societies. Female genital mutilation has
affected over 500,000 girls and women in Europe, 75,000 live in Great Britain, 65,000 in France and
30,000 in Germany. Most of these people are getting affected are migrants. This operation is affecting
their health. They shouldn t affect their health if they were already healthy before the operation was
given. I think if you put some men and women in a room and ask them how they feel about female
genital mutilation, the women would get into a heat discussion about how it s unfair and it should be
happening to young girls and women. I think some of the men would agree but some would just be
like it s whatever and move on with their day. The graph above is a health survey from 2012 in Ivory

The Broken Window Theory Of Crime
Criminologist James Q. Wilson and George Kelling developed the Broken Window theory . According
to their theory they believed that crime is the inevitable result of disorder (Gladwell 155). The broken
window theory is known as a disorder and as chaos, therefore, crimes become an issue due to the fact
that the impression of no one being in charge causes crimes to happen one after another and worsening
along the way. An example often used is a broken window, which leads to another broken window, to
graffiti, to loitering, etc. The disorder, the chaos and the abandonment of something or a place causes
crimes to be followed one after another crime is contagious (Gladwell 155). According to the broken
window theory, broken windows should not be left alone. They should be fixed in order for crime to
decrease; therefor broken windows should not be tolerated due to the fact that it may cause an increase
of crimes as well. The rise of a question then forms from this theory, because many departments use
the broken window theory. Officers are known for keeping the law and keeping order. The officers are
given a duty of addressing minor life threatening offenses and social disorder, which prevents major
crimes to happen. They are to disapprove and stop crimes. But is the broken window theory broken
itself when it comes to law enforcement. Could they be doing more wrong than actually doing well?
Because officers are not only stopping crimes, but they are causing more trouble

William Blake s Poem The Schoolboy
Many writers construct natural imagery by deploying figurative language throughout their work.
Natural imagery is a prominent feature in the works of William Blake, particularly in his 1789 poem
The Schoolboy published in the poetry collection Songs of Innocence . He explores the theme of
restriction and how freedom can be found in the natural setting, also demonstrating how human
identity can be influenced by these worlds. Blake s own perception of restriction due to education, and
love of imagination and creativity, becomes an undertone of his social commentary. The impact of
vivid imagery is further explored in D. H. Lawrence s 1922 novella The Fox . The juxtaposition
between natural and domestic worlds is examined through literary devices such as metaphor and
symbolism to comment upon the way in which nature can impact identity and relationships. In
contrast, Lawrence further uses domestic imagery in comparison with description of the natural world
to highlight the internal conflict of characters such as March and Henry.
Throughout The Schoolboy there is a clear sense of conflict between the restriction of formal learning
and the freedom that nature can allow. It could be argued that this theme extends into the form of the
poem, with the use of quintain stanzas being unusual during the romantic period perhaps Blake was
consciously going against the traditional conventions of poetry. According to Marshall Brown Blake
assaulted all the canons of

I. Introduction:
Research Question:Are there correlations between different risk factors that teenagers possess that
attribute to Type 2 diabetes and what do they mean in reference to the chances of future diagnosis and
health?
Type 2 Diabetes is a prevalent and growing epidemic in South Texas, according to the American
Diabetes Association. It is the community s duty and obligation to recognize the problems and risk
factors that attribute to Type 2 Diabetes, so that further generations can avoid these lifestyle habits.
Type 2 Diabetes is an insulin deficiency disease that occurs in people aged 40 or older, and is much
more common than Type 1 Diabetes because it can be acquired genetically, but it is more commonly a
progressive disease based on the individual s unhealthy lifestyle, which is why adolescents are still at
risk to contract Type 2 Diabetes. When a person has Type 2 Diabetes, they may suffer from insulin
resistance. The insulin levels in their body are too low, or the cells in a person s body do not respond
properlyto the correct amount of insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced in the pancreas that strictly
regulates the use and amount of glucose (sugar) levels in an individual s blood. Sugar must be stored
for the future or used as energy by the body. Without insulin regulating an individual s blood sugar
level, a person may become hyperglycemic, with too high of a

Comparison Between The Bacchae and The Medea
In Euripides The Bacchae and in the Medea, there are significant binary oppositions in both plays.
Binary opposition is the two opposite terms, such as good versus bad. Binary opposition is used to
present both sides of a contrast (Marvin, 1). In The Bacchae and the Medea, Euripides used binary
opposition to highlight the central themes. The significant binary oppositions that are used are men
versus women, foreigner versus citizen, and god versus man. The contrast between men versus women
is an important opposition in both plays. The women in the Greek society have no control of their life;
the men are in control (Barlow 159). In The Bacchae Dionysus underminded the Greek society point
view on women and empowers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The binary opposition of man versus woman starts off strong, but Euripides switches the roles in both
plays. In The Bacchae the woman worship Dionysus. Pentheus disguises himself as a woman, and
goes off to view the women in the mountains, which is Dionysus plan the whole time. Pentheus
dresses up as a woman and admits to wanting to see the women up at the mountains, and this goes
against Pentheus anger at the beginning of the play (Bacchae 813 814). In the end of the play the
women overpower Pentheus and destroy him to pieces (Bacchae 1125 1140). This is an example of the
women being controlling of their own actions and being stronger than the men. In Medea the
stereotype of the man and the woman switch. Medea is no longer going to sit around and let every
man walk all over her; she states in her speech that she will take revenge on everybody that caused her
misery (Medea 364 409). Barlow emphasizes on the reversal of the stereotype, stating that Medea, is a
woman, moreover, who simply refuses to any longer to accept at any rate Greek female stereotypes
unless to use them with calculation to gain her own immediate ends (158). Medea reversing the
stereotype is the reversal of man controlling the woman, and this shows that woman as well have the
power to control their own life. Euripides also highlights how

The melancholy of life, death and old age, are one of the many issues dealt with, in Alan Bennett s

modernised society in which she strives for her sovereignty and prominence. In a culture where the

the perfect title of the play as the double entendre epitomizes this remarkably. In addition, another
reason for the dramatic piece being called A Cream Cracker Under The Settee . Is because a cream

Analysis Of The Poem Cousin Kate And A Woman s Lover
The pre 20th century poems Cousin Kate and A woman to her lover written by Christina Rossetti and
Christina Walsh, both explore the presentation of women. Similarly, both poems are unique due to it
being written in the 1800 s, as women were controlled and dominated by men in that society.
The narrative poem Cousin Kate by Rossetti, explores the themes regret and jealousy. The poem itself
is a dramatic monologue written in first person by Rossetti, presenting the history of a cottage maiden
with a Lord. It was written during the 1800 s where social status was considered important, women
were inferior to men and sexual intercourse out of wedlock was frowned upon greatly. In the first
stanza we learn that the persona got betrayed and was simply a cottage maiden. She reveals that she
was hardened by the sun and air , portraying how strong she is and how hard she worked.
Conversely, through the use of the phrase sun and air Rossetti foreshadows the ending son and heir .
This play on words shows how the cottage maiden revealed that even after having her son out wedlock
with the Lord, he would still be inheriting his wealth and land. Moreover, through the quote contented
with my cottage maidens , she shows how happy and satisfied she was with how her life before the
Lord entered it. Portraying how much the affair with the Lord affected her and how much she lost in
result of it. Additionally, the cottage maiden was modest and humble but she was fair demonstrated by

The Relief and Intaglio Printmaking Process
Describe the Relief Printmaking process. List an artist who uses the form of printmaking. Refer to this
video for more information.
The Relief Printmaking process is a printmaking process in which someone covers a block of material,
such as wood, in ink. Then they proceed to deeply etch out the inked surface in the form of a design.
Once that is done, they lay paper over the block with pressure so that the ink is shared generously all
over the paper. When the paper is removed, the design will have been transferred and they will have
the finished artwork. Using a block of wood is known as Woodcut Relief Printmaking, or Woodcuts .
There are also Wood Engravings, where a stronger type of wood is used so an artist can engrave an
image into the surface rather than cut it out. In my opinion, the second step of the process could be left
to remain as the art itself. In the video showing the process as Lyell Castonguay created his piece,
Hydra , I thought the design in the ink coated wood looked more bold and real than the actually piece.
But this may only be for the reason that the finished product lacked color in comparison. Of course,
Lyell isn t the only artist who uses this printmaking process. Another artist who uses Relief
Printmaking is Katsushika Hokusai. Hokusai used the same process to create his color woodcut piece
called South Wind, Clear Sky , a portrayal of Mount Fuji. Describe the Intaglio Printmaking process.
List an artist who uses this form of printmaking.

Absurdism In Albert Camus
Albert Camus was a French Algerian writer, who made an enterprising contribution to a wide range of
issues in moral philosophy. Camus was a moralist as well as a political theoretician and stood in high
public esteem not only in France but also all over Europe after World War Ⅱ. Albert Camus spent a
dismal childhood with poverty and bereavement of his father s death. In his school years, Camus
became an avid reader, developing a lifelong interest in literature as well as profoundly opened his
eyes to philosophy. Therefore, Camus principally dealt with philosophy themes in his work. In this
short biography of Albert Camus, we will explore his philosophy of absurdism and its effect on Camus
s morality. Besides, the reader will be examining Camus s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea is also known as existentialism. The terminology of existentialism is a philosophical
movement which respects the individual existence, freedom and choice. Existentialism can be used
both for philosophical concepts and for literary work. Albert Camus rebuff to the perception of being
called existentialism . He, himself refused to be called as an existentialist. One reason being is that he
attempted to restrict his ideas into a pre defined category. Another reason that can be considered is
many existential philosophers did not consider themselves existentialists as they did not want to be
associated to or typecast with other philosophers conception of existentialism. Nonetheless, Albert
Camus was an existentialist. Existentialism became prevalence after World War Ⅱ, as a way to secure
and insist the significance of humanity s individuality and freedom. He had habitual and intense
interest in the active human psyche, in the life of conscience or spirit as it is actually experienced and
lived. During the 1950s, Camus took on the role of full time advocates for human rights, such as
individualism, self determination, authenticity, and

The Gettysburg Address Dialectical Journal
Nick blows out a sigh. Okay, if that s what you want. Amy? Is it? ... This is the last I ll hear about the
bed, Amy? Because I m offering right now. I m happy to pack the bed for you (101): Nick and Amy
Dunne are moving from their New York home back to Nick s childhood town in Missouri in order to
take care of Nick s ailing mother. This quote is a classic example of Nick asking Amy what she wants,
but Amy expects him to know the correct answer on his own. She doesn t tell him what she really
wants. Amy wants Nick to know that she would like at least the comfort of her own bed in a new
place. Instead of saying this, however, she is passive aggressive and tells him to leave it because he
already promised the bed to one of his friends. This quote is in one of Amy s diary entries, which is
later revealed as an unreliable source. So we do not know for sure if Nick is being mean to her, like
Amy makes it seem, or if he is genuinely asking her what she wants to do.
He promised to take care of me, and yet I feel afraid. I fell like something is going wrong, very wrong,
and that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now we are engaged in a great civil war... (115): This could be alluding to the civil war that Nick is
struggling with inside his very own mind and heart. He has two sides of himself: one that is guilty for
cheating on Amy and for not being a better husband, and the other side that is angry and resentful of
Amy and wants to get a divorce. He partially blames Amy for making him feel more like his father by
hating women, but also blames himself for acting like someone he s not. He was acting like a better
man than he usually was when he first met Amy, and when he could not keep up with the charade,
Amy was not pleased with the results. The civil war within Nick leads the reader to believe that Nick
is guilty about Amy s disappearance, but on the other hand he may be secretly glad, if only there
weren t suspicions against

Young Goodman Brown Allegory Analysis
An allegory is a type of literature that contains a hidden meaning or message about its characters or
setting. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown, allegory is abundantly utilized throughout
the story in the form of characters such as Goodman Brown, representing the universal man of Salem;
Faith, his wife, also representing his religious faith; and Goody Cloyse as a high ranking religious
figure that is secretly hiding an ominous side. Through the allegory, Hawthorne expresses the idea that
the loss of purity and innocence is inevitable.
Young Goodman Brown was cleverly given his name by Hawthorne to refer to the everyday Christian
man living in Salem during the Colonial time period. The first name Goodman literally describes a
good man of Christian faith while Brown represents a common American last name, hence creating a
universal character. Allegory is woven throughout the story, including when Goodman Brown finds
his beloved wife, Faith, practicing rituals with a cult that he encounters in the forest. When Goodman
Brown initially believes he hears Faith s voice in the forest, he investigates only to find her pink hair
ribbons hanging from a branch. At this, Goodman Brown cries, My Faith is gone... There is no good
on earth; and sin is but a name. Come, devil; for to thee is this world given (Hawthorne 1038). In this
cry for help, Goodman Brown expresses both the loss of allegiance to his wife and the loss of his
religious faith in God and the Christian

Summary Of My Trip To The City Aquarium By Avery Bambach
Aquarium By: Avery Baumbach
In the story My Trip to the City Aquarium, the author changed her opinion to go to the aquarium. For
example, at first she didn t want to go , but then when they pulled up to the aquarium, she said I was
amazed at the size of the building.
When she changed her mind after she saw how big it was she thought she was going to have fun. For
Example, when they went inside each of the students received a small souvenir. It was a postcard with
a bright blue and yellow fish. When she saw it, she was surprised how pretty it was.
After they got the postcards her teacher got the class into groups and her group went down the first
hallway toward a reef exhibit. At that time, she had no

Ethics And Ethics Of Religion
If you pick up a paper or magazine today most of the articles contain topics involving religion in the
workplace or religion in the US military. It is hard for any Air Force member to go throughout their
career without having to deal with religion in the workplace as a trending topic. After entering the 21st
century religion in the workplace has impacted not only schools, most major cooperation s (Ludolph,
R. C., Wolfe, A. A. (2013) , but the United States military across all the branches of the uniform
service. In this paper I will be using two ethical theories and one ethical perspective to persuade you
into believing that religion has a place in not only in today s military but in every cooperate workplace
or simply argue the facts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Religious Freedom the Military: An Ongoing History. (n.d.). Supervisors and commanders are often
reluctant to raise concerns over the impact of religious practices in today s workplace. The first
amendment to the Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, guarantees freedom of religion,
speech, the press, and assembly. The first amendment provides the following: Congress shall make no
law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... Supporting the
right of free expression relates directly to the Air Force core values and the ability to maintain an
effective team. It requires all military members to recognize that individuals within your workplace
and the Air Force community hold diverse beliefs. Airmen are in an environment where their
coworkers subscribe to many different viewpoints, groups, denominations, orders, affiliations, and
persuasions. Within each of these varied expressions, all Air Force members are able to choose to
practice their particular religion, or subscribe to no religious belief at all. Recognition and application
of this right requires you to portray a great deal of respect, understanding, and support. Religion is
often understood as an institutional and organizational domain, confined and determined by creeds,
theologies, and doctrines about man s current and eternal destiny, his relationship with himself and

English Language Essay
English has been used in many different ways since we ever started speaking it. Now as we move into
the future, English has and still will be used as an international language. Why is it considered so?
Also how did this come about? There are changes ongoing that affect English as a language, such as
employment opportunities and why it is important for any potential employer wishing to employ
someone. It is also used by professionals who are at work each day, on travel, or work related matters.
English is spoken in many different countries and many people there understand English as it is
required for business, travel etc. English is also a source of knowledge as it is needed to understand
what people are saying, reading books, writing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Doctors and nurses may also use medical terminology when discussing something in front of a patient
in order to prevent undue anxiety. Medical jargon is not at all meant to speak in pig latin in front of a
patient. It is so that there is no mistake when doctors are conveying information about a patient to each
other. For example, to a lay person, fever may mean that the person feels hot, or that the temperature is
above 100 Fahrenheit. But no one really knows and can cause a lot of confusion. With medical terms,
things are very clear, so that even a surgeon in France can read a scientific journal article and know
exactly what the author means. That way, also, medicine can be global and that the medical societies
can share ideas and innovations. Since everything in a patient s medical records must be documented,
from signs and symptoms, to the patient s medical history, to the final diagnosis and treatment, it saves
the doctors and all other medical personnel a considerable amount of time to use a universally
accepted form of medical terminology. And, even more importantly to use medical terminology,
means it will be safer when all medical professionals, from doctors and nurses, lab techs to radiology
techs, etc. use the same universal medical terminology so they don t have to try to guess what was
ordered or charted on the patient s medical records or what procedure a patient needs.
English is

Draft a strategic plan to address the above situation that you can forward to the hospital director for his perusal and approval. The other option and more preferred one is to go for free and open source software. Free and open source software as the name suggests is often free or at least much more cost effective, whereas original Microsoft software is highly costly. Therefore using OSS as Libre office or Apache Open Office will save a huge amount of money rather than going for original Microsoft office. And we can install OSS in all the computers of the hospital without having to worry about licenses. OSS is often evolving to the betterment as a large membership is involved in developing it and fixing bugs. And since it s legal upgrading the software should not be a problem for us. Since OSS are more flexible we can modify the software as we wish to suit our requirements. Similarities Between Antwone Fisher And Fences Defeating Battles In August Wilson s play, Fences, Bono says, Some people build fences to keep people out... and other people build fences to keep people in (Wilson 61). Due to past experiences, many people keep their anger inside and alienate the people they are close to. For example, Troy, in Fences, experiences a rough childhood while growing up. This is brought about due to neglect by his father. Because of this, Troy makes the decision to isolate the people who are close to him. Troy has an affair with Alberta; therefore, he alienates Rose, his wife. Similarly, in the film Antwone Fisher, the main character, Antwone is sexually abused in his foster home. Antwone is afraid to be in a relationship with Cheryl because he feels he cannot allow anyone into his inner sanctum. As Davenport helped him move on with his life; he reinforces the meaning of the word forgiveness, which means, Regard without ill will despite an offense... (Antwone.n.pag.). • 5. The aim of this discussion is to describe the enactment... The aim of this discussion is to describe the enactment and it s significant in an organisation and in society as individuals interact. By analysing different work of other researcher s and using examples. This is done to understand how enactment is achieved in any organisation. The term enactment is the notion that is presented by the actions of the people which brings structure and events into existence as it was described by Wieck (1988).According to Wieck (1988) this theory involves two steps. First, preconceptions are used to set aside portions of the field of experience for further attention, that is, perception is focused on predetermined stimuli. Second, people act within the context of these portions of experience guided by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Enactment theory can be seen as a process whereby people achieve continuity and coordination. Enactment occurs after a group of people has implemented a plan and succeeded in what they have structured. For example, a group of five journalists working on one huge story that goes to print at 12 am. When observing this example one can see what Wieck has mentioned above about the environment that carries the real object in the case of this example the environment is the news room. As these journalists work together the stability is formed through enactment as they interact. When a group of people work at 12 am one can conclude that this is an appropriate behaviour in an organisation. The above explained example proves the two different ways of formation that occurs for enactment to be achieved. The above example can also be used to prove that for enactment to be achieved certain rules must be implemented and different roles in an organisation must be played as the results people can corporate. In middle school, specifically in fifth grade, band class and being able to learn an instrument is first introduced to students. Many people sign up, trying out instruments until they find one they enjoy. I, along with a handful of other people in my grade, joined a year late. Not only was I a year late, but I also missed sign ups again, and joined a few months into my sixth grade year. Everyone started laughing. We had never even heard of this. While it seemed everyone else just had brushed it off after having their laughs, I was intrigued. It amazed me that there was more than just the basic 7 instruments we had first heard of. So, reluctantly, I raised my hand. I was expecting her to be excited that someone had offered. Instead, she looked at me with worry in her eyes and said, Are you sure? You might want to keep working with the clarinet. I didn t let that change my mind. I nodded my head and she said, Okay, I ll bring it in tomorrow. That night, I went home and researched everything I needed to know. From how to care for the reed, how to clean it properly, and how to play it. I was ready. I was excited to tell my parents. When I told them, they had almost the same reaction as my band director. They told me I should focus on the instrument I had now. I told them I wanted to learn a different instrument and that I was dedicated on playing it in the concert. • 8. Russian Ballet Dance In The 17th And 18th Century Poverty and other major problems involving constant combatant situations and invasions Russia faced in the 17th and 18th centuries led to many adaptations of performance and arts which were centered around dancing. Due to the exclusivity of proper ballet teachings from known academies many lower class Russian citizens were innovative in the creation of their own ballet performances. Unlike the higher social classes who found great significance to formality and the esteem which surrounded Russian ballet, the lower class had their own take on ballet. Lower class Russian citizens adapted ballet dances through their peers who had commonly been instructed from a handful of other interpretations of the dance. (Schmidt, 1988). Because the Russian ballet academies were selective and difficult to attend many versions of the ballet were formed based upon various interpretations of the dance. Most commonly ballet dances which were performed by those who were not receiving ballet direction from institutions were more inventive and lively than the serious demeanor of formal performances of Russian Ballet. Adjunction is the exercise of judicial powers use by an agency (retrieved from http://administrativelaw.uslegal.com/three types of administrative agency action rulemaking adjudication investigation/). According to this definition, adjunction deals more of a judicial process and in many ways could take longer to get regulations passed. Both of these methods have their own merits, but adjunction is the one that would require more due process , in a given situation. The reason for this is that it seems rulemaking is more of a formal process, that to get ideas out there and see what is needed in order to be beneficial to the general public. Adjunction, on the other hand, seems to be more court based and can take much longer to get things accomplished compared to the rulemaking process. In the case of the FDA s new regulation seems to fall under the rulemaking process rather than the adjunction process. On the other hand, Descartes admits that God has given us the involuntary use of these senses. Now the concern is if the current economic model growth is reasonable in a world with limited energy resources. This has lead to more research in other forms of resources of energy. Now we have other unconventional resources such as wind, solar, geothermal, water, and so on. Energy demand is set to double by 2050 (Beckman, 2013). Therefore, greenhouse gases could double by 2050 as well. Hence, renewable energy is vital. However seen as fossil fuel is still the dominate source of energy, it makes it the current economic model growth rate somewhat unreasonable. Acceleration rate in policy, technological innovation, and consumer expectations are making the energy market increasingly complex. We would need innovation, incentives, investments and stronger technical standards to reduce the world s energy intensity. When the industrial revolution began, the amount of carbon in Britain in form of coal was as much as the carbon in Saudi Arabia in from of oil. This coal improved the economy of Great Britain in 19th and thereafter. Just as coal production had its peak and declined thereafter, is the same way the oil production would. Within the article, Hill elaborates on the misconception that managers wield significant authority (Hill, 2007, p.3). Once new managers have made it to the top, it is important for them to realize they were just in their subordinates position. Hill (2007) quotes a new manager stating, It s humbling that someone who works for me could get me fired (Hill, p.5). From personal experience, in the beginning, my superior has warned me it will first and foremost be my work that pushes me to the Hartness 3 top of the company. In addition to my individual work, it will be the relationship I build with the people under me. Lacking an effective relationship with my subordinates will take me back to the bottom of the company. Hill lists forging good individual relationships as a misconception (Hill, 2007, p.7). Although team building is extremely important, I would disagree with Hill s statements on team building being more important than individual relationships (Hill, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Legality vs. Human Bonding in A Jury of Her Peers Essay In quot;A Jury of Her Peers quot; Susan Glaspell shows how human bonding can override legalities that society has. This is shown by Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters bonding with Minnie by understanding her daily life as they are in her home. The two women feel a connection with Minnie because their lives are very similar to that of hers. By the two women understanding and having a connection with Minnie they notice the small trifles that leads to them finding evidence and motive for Minnie murdering her husband. • 23. beatrice is the vita nuova Essay A very poignant moment in any person s life is when they meet someone who they regard so highly that they place on a pedestal in their mind. If ever there was a doubt of love at first sight, Dante Alighieri disproves the disbelief with his first sighting of Beatrice in his Vita Nuova. When Dante recounts his second encounter with Beatrice he says that she greeted him but does not state how exactly she acknowledged him. The ineffable courtesy that she greeted him with implies that the encounter was not spoken. Through complete silent encounters, the love Dante harbors for Beatrice still continues to flourish. In one of Dante s sonnets he says the following: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beatrice defines Dante s being because as far as he is concerned she is the image of divinity and Christ on earth. Dante describes Beatrice as the destroyer of all vices and queen of virtues. Although no words were ever exchanged between the two, Dante was miserable after Beatrice s death. He wept and mourned her death for a year and yet there was never any substantial interaction of exchanged words to conceive what in this lady s silence to Dante could have possibly sparked such an admiration for her. The depth that he is able to feel for this lady through silent greetings indicates that Beatrice could possibly be an underlying representation of something highly regarded in life such as the church. She represented the epitome of all Dante wanted from life. Although the word was never said, inferences could be made to the symbolism that Beatrice personified. Beatrice s death symbolizes how the innocent die for the guilty in order for the guilty to find salvation. As far as Dante is concerned, Beatrice is the model of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Beatrice dies because of her innocence, just as Jesus sacrificed himself for the guilty. The extent that one man is able to feel love for a lady that never speaks a word to him is incredible. Beatrice s greetings are what defined Dante s existence and what controlled every turn that his life took. If Dante had not encountered Beatrice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. The History of Female Genital Mutilation and Its Consequences Female Genital Mutilation According to many Americans, female genital mutilation is one of the most hurtful practices ever conducted. During this operation, female genitals are partly or entirely removed with the goal of inhibiting the woman s sexual feelings. In my opinion, there is no reason for this operation to be happening. This usually occurs before the female experiences puberty (between the ages of four and eight). The female can suffer for days, weeks, or even months at a time. This ritual is widely practiced in many parts of Africa and by migrants from African countries in other parts of the world (Karmaker 20 28). When a female gets the surgery afterwards the scar can be reopened before intercourse or giving birth which causes more pain for the female. Most women are getting this surgery are the ones with a high ranking reputation in their societies. I think if you put some men and women in a room and ask them how they feel about female genital mutilation, the women would get into a heat discussion about how it s unfair and it should be happening to young girls and women. I think some of the men would agree but some would just be like it s whatever and move on with their day. • 26. The Broken Window Theory Of Crime Criminologist James Q. Wilson and George Kelling developed the Broken Window theory . According to their theory they believed that crime is the inevitable result of disorder (Gladwell 155). The broken window theory is known as a disorder and as chaos, therefore, crimes become an issue due to the fact that the impression of no one being in charge causes crimes to happen one after another and worsening along the way. An example often used is a broken window, which leads to another broken window, to graffiti, to loitering, etc. The disorder, the chaos and the abandonment of something or a place causes crimes to be followed one after another crime is contagious (Gladwell 155). According to the broken window theory, broken windows should not be left alone. They should be fixed in order for crime to decrease; therefor broken windows should not be tolerated due to the fact that it may cause an increase of crimes as well. The rise of a question then forms from this theory, because many departments use the broken window theory. Officers are known for keeping the law and keeping order. The officers are given a duty of addressing minor life threatening offenses and social disorder, which prevents major crimes to happen. They are to disapprove and stop crimes. But is the broken window theory broken itself when it comes to law enforcement. Could they be doing more wrong than actually doing well? Because officers are not only stopping crimes, but they are causing more trouble ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. William Blake s Poem The Schoolboy Many writers construct natural imagery by deploying figurative language throughout their work. Natural imagery is a prominent feature in the works of William Blake, particularly in his 1789 poem The Schoolboy published in the poetry collection Songs of Innocence . He explores the theme of restriction and how freedom can be found in the natural setting, also demonstrating how human identity can be influenced by these worlds. Blake s own perception of restriction due to education, and love of imagination and creativity, becomes an undertone of his social commentary. The impact of vivid imagery is further explored in D. H. Lawrence s 1922 novella The Fox . The juxtaposition between natural and domestic worlds is examined through literary devices such as metaphor and symbolism to comment upon the way in which nature can impact identity and relationships. In contrast, Lawrence further uses domestic imagery in comparison with description of the natural world to highlight the internal conflict of characters such as March and Henry. Throughout The Schoolboy there is a clear sense of conflict between the restriction of formal learning and the freedom that nature can allow. It could be argued that this theme extends into the form of the poem, with the use of quintain stanzas being unusual during the romantic period perhaps Blake was consciously going against the traditional conventions of poetry. Binary opposition is the two opposite terms, such as good versus bad. Binary opposition is used to present both sides of a contrast (Marvin, 1). In The Bacchae and the Medea, Euripides used binary opposition to highlight the central themes. The significant binary oppositions that are used are men versus women, foreigner versus citizen, and god versus man. The contrast between men versus women is an important opposition in both plays. Pentheus dresses up as a woman and admits to wanting to see the women up at the mountains, and this goes against Pentheus anger at the beginning of the play (Bacchae 813 814). In the end of the play the women overpower Pentheus and destroy him to pieces (Bacchae 1125 1140). Barlow emphasizes on the reversal of the stereotype, stating that Medea, is a woman, moreover, who simply refuses to any longer to accept at any rate Greek female stereotypes unless to use them with calculation to gain her own immediate ends (158). The narrative poem Cousin Kate by Rossetti, explores the themes regret and jealousy. The poem itself is a dramatic monologue written in first person by Rossetti, presenting the history of a cottage maiden with a Lord. When the paper is removed, the design will have been transferred and they will have the finished artwork. Using a block of wood is known as Woodcut Relief Printmaking, or Woodcuts . There are also Wood Engravings, where a stronger type of wood is used so an artist can engrave an image into the surface rather than cut it out. In my opinion, the second step of the process could be left to remain as the art itself. In the video showing the process as Lyell Castonguay created his piece, Hydra , I thought the design in the ink coated wood looked more bold and real than the actually piece. But this may only be for the reason that the finished product lacked color in comparison. Of course, Lyell isn t the only artist who uses this printmaking process. Another artist who uses Relief Printmaking is Katsushika Hokusai. Hokusai used the same process to create his color woodcut piece called South Wind, Clear Sky , a portrayal of Mount Fuji. Describe the Intaglio Printmaking process. List an artist who uses this form of printmaking. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Young Goodman Brown Allegory Analysis An allegory is a type of literature that contains a hidden meaning or message about its characters or setting. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown, allegory is abundantly utilized throughout the story in the form of characters such as Goodman Brown, representing the universal man of Salem; Faith, his wife, also representing his religious faith; and Goody Cloyse as a high ranking religious figure that is secretly hiding an ominous side. Through the allegory, Hawthorne expresses the idea that the loss of purity and innocence is inevitable. Young Goodman Brown was cleverly given his name by Hawthorne to refer to the everyday Christian man living in Salem during the Colonial time period. The first name Goodman literally describes a good man of Christian faith while Brown represents a common American last name, hence creating a universal character. Allegory is woven throughout the story, including when Goodman Brown finds his beloved wife, Faith, practicing rituals with a cult that he encounters in the forest. When Goodman Brown initially believes he hears Faith s voice in the forest, he investigates only to find her pink hair ribbons hanging from a branch. At this, Goodman Brown cries, My Faith is gone... There is no good on earth; and sin is but a name. Come, devil; for to thee is this world given (Hawthorne 1038). In this cry for help, Goodman Brown expresses both the loss of allegiance to his wife and the loss of his religious faith in God and the Christian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Medical jargon is not at all meant to speak in pig latin in front of a patient. It is so that there is no mistake when doctors are conveying information about a patient to each other. For example, to a lay person, fever may mean that the person feels hot, or that the temperature is above 100 Fahrenheit. But no one really knows and can cause a lot of confusion. With medical terms, things are very clear, so that even a surgeon in France can read a scientific journal article and know exactly what the author means. That way, also, medicine can be global and that the medical societies can share ideas and innovations. Since everything in a patient s medical records must be documented, from signs and symptoms, to the patient s medical history, to the final diagnosis and treatment, it saves the doctors and all other medical personnel a considerable amount of time to use a universally accepted form of medical terminology. And, even more importantly to use medical terminology, means it will be safer when all medical professionals, from doctors and nurses, lab techs to radiology techs, etc. use the same universal medical terminology so they don t have to try to guess what was ordered or charted on the patient s medical records or what procedure a patient needs.
