Communication Failure
Communication is not an easy process. It involves verbal and non verbal attempts to assist the other
person to understand what we are trying to communicate. Yet it often fails.
The communication occurring between two people as discussed in the statement above is known by
academics as interpersonal communication . Interpersonal communication can be defined as a two
way, transactional process in which two people, occupying a shared space, continue to send
information to each other and receive information from each simultaneously. (DeVito, 2008; Firth,
Berry amp; Irvine, 2010; Hartley, 1999). The above statement refers to the process of interpersonal
communication.
Three clear assertions regarding the process of interpersonal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Verbal and non verbal messages expressed by should ideally have congruency, meaning they
complement each other (DeVito, 2008; Firth et al., 2010). Incongruent verbal and non verbal messages
often lead to confusion in the receiver, hindering successful reception and comprehension of the
information being communicated and therefore resulting in a failure in the communication process
(Devito, 2008; Firth et al., 2010). Hence, congruent verbal and non verbal messages encoded and
communicated by sender will also aid in reducing the likeliness of communication failure.
It has been suggested that a failure or breakdown in the interpersonal communication process can be
further reduced if both the sender and receiver possess satisfactory levels of what is termed emotional
intelligence (Goleman, 1998; Lynn, 2002). Emotional intelligence may be defined as a person s ability
to recognise, control and evaluate their own feelings and emotions as well as the feelings and
emotions of others (Goleman, 1998). Goleman (1998) states that emotional Intelligence is made up of
five elements, these being: self awareness, self regulation, self motivation, empathy, and the
possession of social skills. Self awareness comprises of: the ability to recognise one s emotions;
awareness of one s strengths, weaknesses and potential; and one s ability to

Facts About Serial Killers
To all media outlets, you are all well aware that you are the first go to to find out information. Whether
it is weather, crime, or sports, you have the scoop on everything one needs to know. Over the years,
you have changed the way you report crime. Particularly, the way you report serial killers. Serial
killers get a nickname or a catchy tag line that leads to more killings and more fascination from the
public (Fox 13A). People cling to you for everything, so when you give a serial killer a lot of
attention, then the public is going to do the same (Fox 13A). The way you go about informing the
world on serial killers influences other things such as, movies, TV shows, and songs being made in
their honor. As the source for all information, you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only reason these movies even sell is because of the stars you make serial killers out to be. While
these movies are interesting and intriguing, it is not okay to capitalize off the crimes of serial killers.
The only thing productions inspired by serial killers leads to is the serial killer gaining more
confidence and publicity. A few years ago, Stephen King produced a movie based on Dennis Rader
and his family (Wenzl). Rader s daughter, Kerri Rawson, finally sat down for an interview when she
heard the news. Rawson seemed to show no pity for her father, and she feels King s movie is
exploiting her family (Wenzl). She also added, He s only going to give my father a big head, and her
absolutely does not need that (Wenzl). These producers do not realize how they are affecting the serial
killers family when they make these productions. Rawson felt that you were relentless after her father
was arrested (Wenzl). Lowering the excitement around serial killers will cause a major deficit in crime
drama production. Although this result will leave many people unhappy, it will provide comfort for the
families of many serial

To Build A Fire Warning Signs
In Jack London s short stories To Build a Fire, a man in the Yukon freezes to death. His unfortunate
fate could have been avoided if he simply would have respected the power of nature and recognized
the warning signs. The very first warning sign was the lack of sunlight. As we well know most of the
heat we get is from the sun, so when the sun is up it is warm, but when it goes down it gets a little
cold. The author states, a subtly loom that made the day, and that was due to the absence of sun (222).
He has gone without sun before, but he did not see what would happen to him. The second warning
sign was his spit turning into ice before it hit the ground. He was chewing a piece of tobacco, and
some of his saliva came out of his mouth

The Glass Menagerie By Tennessee Williams
In literature, stories traditionally revolve around a main protagonist, whom the fate of the other
characters rests upon. The protagonist is often expected to struggle and bear important duties in order
to achieve success. The main antagonist, on the other hand, is usually responsible for the struggles that
the protagonist must overcome, and serves as a threat to the characters. The character of Tom in
Tennessee Williams play, The Glass Menagerie, serves as a flawed protagonist. He bears the heavy
responsibility of supporting his family, but also struggles against the boredom and stress of his
everyday life. Despite his positive traits, he clearly shows contempt for each of his family members,
and longs for adventure away from them. Tom s father, whom is only mentioned by the characters, can
be considered an antagonist. His abandonment of his family led to the many difficulties that Tom,
Laura, and Amanda face. As such, he burdens the family and ultimately has influence on Tom s
decision to leave them. Williams uses various literary devices to enhance the theme that one must act
without pity in order to escape life s struggles. The Glass Menagerie takes place in St. Louis, in 1937.
The main protagonist, Tom, works in a shoe factory, and his only source of enjoyment is writing
poetry and watching movies. His sister, Laura, is a crippled woman with little confidence in herself.
Their mother, Amanda, attempts to secure a safe future for Laura, but is ineffective in raising

Success In College Students
The greatest thing that college students can learn is the idea of success and what that can mean for a
person. In Bernard Roth s novel The Achievement Habit, stop wishing, start doing and take control of
your life explains how such a word can be described in many different ways for one person. Success
can be defined by time management, having a positive mindset, and having a purpose. Many times,
through Roth s book he explains the many different decisions and ways you should start to change in
your life to make you a better person. College students need to learn the real definition of success and
how it can impact the views they might have towards furthering their education for the better. I have
struggled to maintain success in my college career for example I never have time I fail and can t seem
to get out of my own head but after Reading Roth s book I guarantee it will give real definition of
success will finally make students understand how success is defined. Through the rigorous
definitions of these describing words Roth finally shows the definition and is defined in these words
time management, having a positive mindset, and having a purpose. Time management is one of the
three most important traits to have success in college, it helps to map out your schedule, prepare you
for exams, and can be beneficial for your stress level. Roth has a great example of how he misused
time management to match his schedule. He talked about having a meeting an hour away in Berkley

Brain Ischemia Summary
In a study conducted 25 years ago, Hoffman et al determined the neuroprotective effects of Dex in
animals with different insults to the brain has been reported in a study which showed that this drug
decreases centeral symphathetic activity , and thus attenuating anesthetic demands on neurological and
histopathological outcome after incomplete cerebral ischemia in rats. [1]. It was demonstrated that
brain ischemia improved neurological and histopathological outcome after incomplete ischemia in rats
that were administered nitrous oxide and fentanyl after reversing with atipamezole, providing an
evidence that the effect was contributed byα2 adrenergic receptors. However, Dex did not bring forth
any significant changes in glucose or physiologic variables during ischemia for improvement. The
study came to a conclusion that attenuation of symphathetic activity resulted by incomplete cerebral
ischemia was caused by dexmedetomidine . Following this study, Maier c et al. used a focal cerebral

Intaperetoneal Dexmedetomidine dereased the brain cell and tissue loss as well as neurological and
cognitive dysfunction when records were examined from 28 days after brain HI. This result has
proved that post treatment by Dex confers neuroprotection against hypoxia ischemia brain injury in
neonatal rats which was possible because of inhibition of inflammation in the ischemic brain tissues

My Best Evidence Came From One Case By Heidi Vollstadt...
Motherhood is known for its high level of responsibility, the changes it makes to a woman s body, the
toll it has on the mother s sleep schedule, and the formation of a tight bond between mother and child.
Due to those reasons and countless others, some professionals in the world of sport question whether
or not a woman can find a balance between the demand of being an elite athlete and the fulltime job
that comes with being a parent. The research on this topic is somewhat limited, but I am confident that
the sources used in this paper are good quality. I have compiled qualitative data from four separate
scholarly papers and two news articles. My best evidence came from one case study conducted by
Heidi Vollstadt Freeman (2008), which analyzes interviews with eight different mothers during their
post partum return to training for the Olympics. My key findings included a trend of the athletes
compartmentalizing/separating their home life from their sport life and the importance of a strong
support system. The bottom line is, while struggles were apparent regarding what the demand of
training and competing took from home life (lack of time and energy after intense training sessions
and financial/organizational travel obstacles), the mothers found that their new family life helped keep
them motivated, increased their enjoyment for the sport, eased pressures leading up to competition,
and boosted their performance. The sport issue here is that people underestimate a

The Causes Of The Indian Removal Act Of 1830
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 moved the natives from federal territory in Georgia to non federal
territory in Oklahoma. Signed by Andrew Jackson, the act forced natives on what was known as the
Trail of Tears where many of them died. Though, the views of Americans were changed by the
Natives since the time Jamestown was settled. As the Natives importance to the Americans decreased,
they became more of a nuisance. The settlers in New England were very reliant on the Natives. They
were the ones who taught them to hunt and live in these new conditions. Natives were constantly put
aside after the country was able to fend for themselves as seen in the American Revolution. Later on,
the court case of Worcester v. Georgia gave the declaration that Natives were not technically a part of
our country and they seemed to be just taking up space. Through these things, it is very clear that
Natives were a problem that our country did not want to deal with.
Many people do not know of the main reasons for the movement of the Native American Tribes. The
causes were that President Jackson had very little positive actions and policies which inevitably
caused the Trail of Tears . The tribes that were required to move were considered the five civilized
tribes, and their names were the Creeks, Chickasaws, Seminoles, Cherokees, and Choctaws. The first
action that leads to the migration was the fact that Jackson did not go through with his promise that the
migration would be voluntary. Then he

The Current Generation Research Paper

everything from music to movies to current television series episodes. The Internet also has the most
up to date pool of current events from anywhere around the world. While news and entertainment are
of huge importance to the world, in the eyes of a student the most important use of the Internet is the

From what we choose to eat to what we choose to wear, it has some effect on us. Every day, millions
of people willingly choose to get on the Internet. Carr even states that he has been spending a lot of
time online, searching and surfing and sometimes adding to the great databases of the Internet over the
past decade (Carr, 634). This raises the question: why would you partake in something that you feel is
lessening your ability? There is no simple answer to this question. One may say that they need the
Internet for research, but there are many other ways to research. However, the Internet is the easiest
and fastest way to research today. This much is already known; even Carr agrees that the Internet is a
godsend and that research that once required days can be done in mere minutes (Carr, 634). This
brings to the surface the want to use the Internet. Somewhere, no matter how deep down it is, there is
a piece of every single person that wants to take the easy route. This incessant want to make things
easier is the sole purpose of Google. According to Carr, Google is attempting to create an artificial
intelligence that is similar to a HAL like machine that could be connected directly to our brains which
is an allusion to the science fiction movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (Carr, 639). Carr seems to believe

Technology Is Not Science Fiction
Implanted with a Chip People today are enamored with the idea of having the latest, coolest
technologies in their possession, and no matter what comes down the pipeline they will do whatever it
takes to get their hands on it. What would someone do if they found out that there was a piece of
technology that would allow them to unlock their car with the palm of their hand, and start the car
with that same hand just by touching the steering wheel. How about if they could go to the bank and
withdraw money from their account without ever having to pull out their debit card or any form of
identification. Now how about this, someone goes to the grocery store fills their cart with everything
on their shopping list, and then exits the store never having stopped at the checkout counter. This
sounds like a piece of technology that people would want to get their hands on. How would people
react to find out that this piece of technology is not science fiction but indeed science fact? Although
the idea of putting microchip implants in human beings may have many valuable uses, the potential to
make life easier, and seems like the natural progression in technological advancement it should not be
taken lightly. Implanting people with microchips is undoubtedly the wrong direction in which to take
the society; the implementation of microchip implants will be the catalyst that causes everyone to

How Does Steinbeck Present The Theme Of Loneliness In Of...
Kensa Fradd Walker Of Mice and Men The Main Themes So far in the book, Of Mice and Men, John
Steinbeck has introduced three main themes dreams, loneliness/isolation, and
friendship/companionship. These three themes all link together in the way that most of the characters,
in Steinbeck s microcosm of society, dream of a friend to cure their loneliness. Whilst everyone on the
ranch dreams of a companion, George and Lennie dream of having their own ranch. They dream to
have this ranch so that no one can fire them and they can be their own boss. When they are talking in

Loneliness follows all of the characters except for George and Lennie, because they have each other.
Their dream of owning the farm is their way of breaking the pattern of loneliness. In addition to
dreams, humans long for human contact to give their lives meaning. The vast majority of the migrant
workers travel alone and Slim once says I seen the guys that go around on the ranches alone. That ain t
no good. They don t have no fun. After a long time they get mean. Steinbeck reinforces the theme of
loneliness in subtle and not so subtle ways. Near the ranch, for example, is the town of Soledad. The
town s name, not accidentally, means solitude or alone . The others reactions to George and Lennie
traveling together reinforces that, in Steinbeck s world, traveling with someone else is unusual. When
George and Lennie arrive at the ranch, four other characters the boss, Candy, Crooks, and Slim all
comment on the suspicious nature of two guys traveling together. This

Evil Is Evil Real
The explanation of the word reify is to regard or treat an abstraction or idea as if it had concrete or

evil. In Summa Theologiae, it is stated that evil is the absence of the good...evil is caused in the action

Personal Narrative-A Day At The Kettle Falls Hospital
It was once again a sunny May day at Voyageurs National Park. I had been there for almost a week
already, but there was still no sign of people around. I thought that I had come a bit early for the tour
and yet it didn t seem as though anyone was coming. Maybe the park was closed, however, that
seemed unlikely since I was booked for the week at the Kettle Falls Hotel. I still don t understand why
they put the only hotel available inside the park on the one tiny island with water surrounding all
sides! I find this idea that rowing everywhere to be adventurous, is highly moronic. I want to be able
to awaken and go on with my day. Not to mention it is strenuous to row by yourself. I decided to go
find the activity center. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ah ha! I said, realizing my phone was placed in my pocket! NO! Oh no! My phone is dead! Oh no!
There was nothing I could do except pick a route and continue on it. I started walking through the
trees. I took a few turns, just to keep it even. The sun was setting. I couldn t stop thinking of the
pictures I saw on the internet. It was so beautiful! This was starting to seem less beautiful and more
dangerously terrifying. The night began to deepen and the nightly noises were coming. There were
wolves howling, and bears growling! It couldn t become much worse. At least that s what I thought. I
then stepped in a puddle of mud and squashed a pile of what I hoped was berries. I heard something in
the bushes. I it w w was a b b b bear! I ran as fast as I had ever moved in my entire existence. I was
about to be eaten by a growling, starving...brown bear? Wait a minute, I thought as I was sprinting to
my death, Brown bears don t live in Minnesota. What is one doing in the middle of Voyageurs Park?
Just then I ran into the lake. At last! I said, The lake to the hotel! I swam as fast as I could and to my
surprise, all the lights appeared to be on. On a normal day I would have turned them off, but maybe I
forgot. The bear was still chasing me so I ran inside and petrified to turn back, I didn t close the door. I
just ran up to my room and when I got inside, there was a muffled shuffling from the corner of the
room. I figured a squirrel got into my room (again!). I began to walk over to it with a pillow. As I was
ready to strike it, the lights turned on. SURPRISE! everyone cheered. Did we fool you? one man with
a black suit asked. He had a microphone in hand, which I didn t understand. Um...y ya I reckon you

How can this happen? The very word support always makes people think of air power as an ancillary
weapon of the Army and Navy Gen Henry Arnold stated, a friend and contemporary of Mitchell. This
thought relegated close air support towards the bottom of air tasks at the outset of WWII and its
minimization of instruction to only a day at the ACTS. The strong desire to make the Air Service an
independent service during the interwar years caused a great deal of friction between the Army and its
Airmen. With Mitchell in the lead supported by others, they championed that the Air Service could not
develop the way it needed to while subordinate to the Army. Not only did Mitchell s approach depart

For instance, if someone s income grows, then his demand for goods will increase, shifting his
demand curve to the right. This will lead to a higher quantity being consumed at a higher price, ceteris

A Brief Note On The First Gasoline Powered Automobile Essay
Introduction
The first gasoline powered automobile was built 1885 in Germany. The first car was engineered by
Henry Ford in 1896. He took things a notch higher by establishing an assembly line which enabled
him to mass produce the vehicles thus making them affordable to the consumers.
The use of automobiles has since increased in the US and other parts of the world. By 1999, the US
alone had over 200 million passenger cars and light trucks. The number of cars worldwide grew thrice
faster than the human population. The increase in the number of automobiles has become a matter of
great concern as it leads to serious air pollution. For instance, European Environment Agency reported
that transportation emission presents a huge threat to the environment.
1. Global competition in the industry:
During the first half of this century, automobile imports were negligible on American roads. For
instance in 1950s, only 21,287 automobiles were imported and local manufacturers ignored their
presence in the belief that the imports were small and low quality. However, foreign automobiles have
since set the quality benchmark and in 1986 reached an all time high of 4.1 million units. In 1980s the
big three auto makers (Ford, General Motors, and Fiat/Chrysler) formed joint ventures with Japanese
automakers in order to capitalize on consumer attitude towards foreign automobiles. In 2004, the
automobile manufacturers formed the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers to work together on

The Jackie Robinson
The mens baseball league was in trouble when World War II started. The fans of baseball and citizens
of the U.S. Did not like the idea of men getting paid to play baseball while loved ones sent to war so a
certain Philip Wrigley owner of wrigleys gum and the Chicago cubs didn t think baseball would last.
Shortly after Pearl Harbor got bombed by the Japanese and most of the male players went off to serve
our country. The league owner wanted to end baseball but president Franklin Delano Roosevelt wrote
a letter called the green light letter which stated that baseball was a great cheap family recreation that
took about 2 and a half hours. This letter also stated that baseball was good for the economy giving
people jobs and fun. The final item in the letter asked the judge to extend night games so day shift
workers could watch too. Philip Wrigley and three other men Branch Rickey owner and president of
the Brooklyn dodgers, Paul V. Harper Chicago attorney, and Ken Sells the President of the league
decided that if they wanted baseball to continue the women would have to come play hard ball, but
softball was already easily available so these four men set out to find a way to convince girls to play
baseball, so Wrigley and the other men decided to combine the ideas of softball and baseball, they also
decided to name the league the All American Girls Baseball League (AAGBBL) but later changed it to
the ALL American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL)

Mythical Norm Affects The Construction Of Identity For...
The Mythical Norm affects the construction of identity for Ethnic Minority women. The Mythical
Norm is considered to be what is socially acceptable of an ideal man and woman based on many
factors including race, gender, class, and age. The Ethnic Minority women usually play the inferior
role in society, while the male plays the dominant role and promotes the idea of being superior. The
unit demonstrates the position women are perceived throughout society as they are forced to hide their
own beliefs and capabilities to satisfy the needs of the men. Without the woman s consent, they are
being taught to satisfy the men s standards to become the ideal woman. For example, in Invisibility is
an Unnatural Disaster: Reflections of an Asian American Woman by Mitsuye Yamada when she
recognizes how Asian American woman is lulled into believing that people perceive her as being
different from other Asian women (the submissive, subservient, ready to please, easy to get along with
Asian woman), she is kept comfortably content with the state of things. This is an ordinary example of
how the Mythical Norm comes back in place with the Ethnic Minority women. In this case, the
Mythical Norm plays a role in an Asian American woman s life as if she is being controlled by the
men in her life since in her cultural background the ideal women are to be the caretaker in the
household and nothing more. As well as in American Indian Women Managers: Living in Two Worlds
, the author Helen Juliette

Jeremy Bentham Principles Of Utilitarianism
Jeremy Bentham was born in Houndsditch, London on 15 February 1748. He was the eldest son of
Alicia Whitehorn, née Grove, who on 3 October 1745 had entered into he second marriage with
Jeremiah Bentham, a successful practitioner in the Court of Chancery. Six further children were born,
of whom only the youngest, Samuel, born in 1757, survived beyond infancy. Death was never far
away and on 6 January 1759, when Jeremy was ten years old, he lost his mother. By 1755 he was
considered robust enough to go to Westminster School. It was in 1769 that Bentham found a purpose
for his life. All the pieces of the jigsaw suddenly came into place. His later reflections on this period of
his life reveal an exposure to a very different literature from the ... Show more content on

Bentham brought together various elements from these thinkers to construct his version of the
principle of UTILITY.
UTILITARIANISM:
Jeremy Bentham was a leading theorist in Anglo American philosophy of law and one of the founders
of utilitarianism. He developed this idea of a utility and a utilitarian calculus in the Introduction to the
Principles of Morals and Legislation (1781).In the beginning of that work Bentham wrote: Nature has
placed mankind under the governance of two sovereign masters, pain and pleasure. It is for them alone
to point out what we ought to do, as well as to determine what we shall do. On the one hand the
standard of right and wrong, on the other the chain of causes and effects, are fastened to their throne.
They govern us in all we do, in all we say, in all we think: every effort we can make to throw off our
subjection, will serve but to demonstrate and confirm it.
Bentham believed that pain and pleasure not only explain our actions but also help us define what is
good and moral. He believed that this foundation could provide a basis for social, legal, and moral
reform in society. To determine whether an action is moral you merely have to calculate the good

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Jv and Ws
1. Introduction The aim of this essay is to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of setting up a
wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) instead of a joint venture (JV). There are numerous studies and
research papers done on which entry mode is best in different situations, but there is no simple task
deciding which is the best unless one can see into the future. JV and WOS are two completely
different entry modes with their distinct down and upsides. Entering a new market gives both great
opportunities and involves high risk. There is much at stake but if one choose wrong entry mode it can
cost the company tremendously, that is why one should not take this decision based on a few factors.
The globalisation has given companies a bigger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If both companies in the partnership feel it is a win win situation the chance for success is bigger, and
if they fail the cost will not be as devastating, the amount of risk is at a minimum compared to a WOS
(Morschet, Schramm Klein, Zentes, 2010). 2.4 The disadvantages of JVs Being partners is not always
easy, and it takes time and a lot of effort to build up a strong relationship between two companies.
There are many uncertainties around partnerships, the partner can have a hidden agenda and have an
opportunistic behavior (Aswathappa, 2010). The goal or objective for the partnership can be unclear
and makes it difficult to know when they have succeeded. If there is an unbalance in the level of
investment, effort or expertise the other partner can feel they are not getting what they expected. Many
get caught up in endless conflicts, and often these issues are based on cultural differences. Most of
these problems are management issues, but sometimes the company s management can agree on every
point but the employers do not get enough information (businesslink.gov.uk). Without thorough
research and effective communication the employers can start to working against the integration. 3.
Discussion Setting up a WOS or JV can be a difficult choice but by doing a solid market research and
an intern research of their own company the choice should be easier. If a company want to enter a
foreign market

My Future As An Educator
Ten books. The assignment was to bring in just ten books that influenced us in our childhood thus far.
I went home and stared at my bookshelf, working again and again to make the pile on the ground in
front of me smaller. Eventually, I had the most concise group books I could possibly have, and the
next day I dragged three tote bags filled with thirty seven books into my fifth grade classroom. My
classmates sat quietly while they heard the girl who they rarely heard speak give a synopsis of and
praise to each title and author individually. It was ridiculous and operatic, but my love for literature
was far too immense to do anything less. This love for words grew as I did, and at an early age, I
realized that the best thing to do with such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
#). I hope to instill similar values in my students, not just through the curricular approved novels or
texts that they immediately enjoy, but through a diverse variety of topics and perspectives that
challenge them and their own beliefs including factual articles, historical texts, culturally diverse
narratives, and more. This all encompassing collection will ideally ignite the same drive to learn as the
ideas of Mary Shelley in Frankenstein ignited in me as she prompts, With how many things are we on
the brink of becoming acquainted, if cowardice or carelessness did not restrain our inquiries? (p. #).
This approach is not only instilled by Shelley and Patterson, but is supported through sociocultural
historical theory. Students will be more engaged and will learn to use an interpretive lens that makes
the literature more meaningful to them on a larger scale (Handsfield, 2013, p. #). Not only do I aspire
to make students aware of the power of words available in the world, but I hope to make them aware
of the power within themselves. Writing can be incredibly intimidating for anyone, and students often
feel inadequate or incapable. Using the meaningful literature we read as mentor texts, I aim to make
students aware of strategies and tools that authors use well with intentions that they can implement

Yahweh s The Dead Sea Scrolls
What makes The Dead Sea Scrolls such a powerful text? Why does it hold such importance and
influence in regards to the present? The Dead Sea Scrolls not only gives in depth content to the Bible,
but most importantly, the texts give a different perspective and insight into a civilization that thrived in
the regions of Qumran before the age of the Christ. In the scrolls, grand aspiration to an ideal utopian
empire are clearly and carefully written. The discovery of the scrolls exposed a blue print containing a
plan to create a society completely devoted to the Yahweh. The scrolls not only enforce laws and
regulations but also instructs meticulous details of an architectural plan. This written work expose a

Class and hierarchy brings order into the social system. Rules, regulations and order provide structure
to the society. Without structure and order, chaos will reign and all will be lost. In order to prevent
such disaster, strict discipline must be implemented. In the history of civilization, the Jews have been
oppressed by many all the way back to Ancient Egypt 3,200 B.C. One of the essential ingredient to an
empire s success is it s ability to defend itself from foreign invader. In order to have the strength, an
army is essential. In the Charter for Israel in the Las Days, the text give specific instructions on
recruiting males at a young age. From early childhood each boy is to be instructed in the Book of
Meditation. As he grows older, they shall teach him the statutes of the Covenant and Then, at age
twenty, he shall be enrolled in the ranks and take his place among the men of his clan, thereby joining
the holy congregation. 5At specific ages, the male rite of passage has been carefully structured in
discipline and training. The process transitions a man into a perfect

The Novel The Green Mile
King s novel The Green Mile, was a depiction of horror and imagery, or as Harold Bloom stated,
visually oriented scenarios. He teased the senses and gave an inevitable emotional twist at the end.
This story follows a special inmate possessed some unworldly powers that changed people s fate,
when he deemed worthy. John Coffey, last name like the drink, only not spelled the same way, (King
16) plays the hand of God in this story, when he saved a life, cured the incurable, punished the guilty,
and changed the life of Paul Edgecomb inevitably. The arrival of John Coffey in fall of 1932 was a
hot, normal day in the E Block cells (King 5). The guards saw this man as not much of a talker, but he
often cried himself to sleep. He was sentenced there for the rape and murder of two little girls; a crime
he did not commit. John Coffey was a large black man in both height and mass, but there was an
oddity sensed about this man. Paul Edgecomb had been acquainted with many inmates over his years,
but this is the first one he offered his hand to (King 19). Even now I don t know why, he stated (King
19). Coffey, a simple man, who talked very little, touched the guards hearts very quickly in his stay.
From the start, it seemed Coffey knew he was going to be killed for the crime he did not commit. [He
was] doomed and [maybe] even perhaps eager to die and put all of the pain and misery behind him (D
Ammassa). He had a hand for healing, even though this man knew that life was

Incongruent verbal and non verbal messages often lead to confusion in the receiver, hindering successful reception and comprehension of the information being communicated and therefore resulting in a failure in the communication process (Devito, 2008; Firth et al., 2010). Hence, congruent verbal and non verbal messages encoded and communicated by sender will also aid in reducing the likeliness of communication failure. It has been suggested that a failure or breakdown in the interpersonal communication process can be further reduced if both the sender and receiver possess satisfactory levels of what is termed emotional intelligence (Goleman, 1998; Lynn, 2002). Emotional intelligence may be defined as a person s ability to recognise, control and evaluate their own feelings and emotions as well as the feelings and emotions of others (Goleman, 1998). Goleman (1998) states that emotional Intelligence is made up of five elements, these being: self awareness, self regulation, self motivation, empathy, and the possession of social skills. • 8. The Glass Menagerie By Tennessee Williams In literature, stories traditionally revolve around a main protagonist, whom the fate of the other characters rests upon. The protagonist is often expected to struggle and bear important duties in order to achieve success. The main antagonist, on the other hand, is usually responsible for the struggles that the protagonist must overcome, and serves as a threat to the characters. The character of Tom in Tennessee Williams play, The Glass Menagerie, serves as a flawed protagonist. He bears the heavy responsibility of supporting his family, but also struggles against the boredom and stress of his everyday life. Despite his positive traits, he clearly shows contempt for each of his family members, and longs for adventure away from them. Tom s father, whom is only mentioned by the characters, can be considered an antagonist. His abandonment of his family led to the many difficulties that Tom, Laura, and Amanda face. As such, he burdens the family and ultimately has influence on Tom s decision to leave them. Williams uses various literary devices to enhance the theme that one must act without pity in order to escape life s struggles. The Glass Menagerie takes place in St. Louis, in 1937. The main protagonist, Tom, works in a shoe factory, and his only source of enjoyment is writing poetry and watching movies. His sister, Laura, is a crippled woman with little confidence in herself. Motherhood is known for its high level of responsibility, the changes it makes to a woman s body, the toll it has on the mother s sleep schedule, and the formation of a tight bond between mother and child. Due to those reasons and countless others, some professionals in the world of sport question whether or not a woman can find a balance between the demand of being an elite athlete and the fulltime job that comes with being a parent. The research on this topic is somewhat limited, but I am confident that the sources used in this paper are good quality. I have compiled qualitative data from four separate scholarly papers and two news articles. My best evidence came from one case study conducted by Heidi Vollstadt Freeman (2008), which analyzes interviews with eight different mothers during their post partum return to training for the Olympics. My key findings included a trend of the athletes compartmentalizing/separating their home life from their sport life and the importance of a strong support system. The bottom line is, while struggles were apparent regarding what the demand of training and competing took from home life (lack of time and energy after intense training sessions and financial/organizational travel obstacles), the mothers found that their new family life helped keep them motivated, increased their enjoyment for the sport, eased pressures leading up to competition, and boosted their performance. • 15. The Causes Of The Indian Removal Act Of 1830 The Indian Removal Act of 1830 moved the natives from federal territory in Georgia to non federal territory in Oklahoma. Signed by Andrew Jackson, the act forced natives on what was known as the Trail of Tears where many of them died. Though, the views of Americans were changed by the Natives since the time Jamestown was settled. As the Natives importance to the Americans decreased, they became more of a nuisance. The settlers in New England were very reliant on the Natives. They were the ones who taught them to hunt and live in these new conditions. Natives were constantly put aside after the country was able to fend for themselves as seen in the American Revolution. Later on, the court case of Worcester v. Georgia gave the declaration that Natives were not technically a part of our country and they seemed to be just taking up space. Through these things, it is very clear that Natives were a problem that our country did not want to deal with. Many people do not know of the main reasons for the movement of the Native American Tribes. The causes were that President Jackson had very little positive actions and policies which inevitably caused the Trail of Tears . The tribes that were required to move were considered the five civilized tribes, and their names were the Creeks, Chickasaws, Seminoles, Cherokees, and Choctaws. The first action that leads to the migration was the fact that Jackson did not go through with his promise that the migration would be voluntary. Then he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Mythical Norm is considered to be what is socially acceptable of an ideal man and woman based on many factors including race, gender, class, and age. The Ethnic Minority women usually play the inferior role in society, while the male plays the dominant role and promotes the idea of being superior. The unit demonstrates the position women are perceived throughout society as they are forced to hide their own beliefs and capabilities to satisfy the needs of the men. • 46. The Advantages and Disadvantages of Jv and Ws 1. Introduction The aim of this essay is to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of setting up a wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) instead of a joint venture (JV). There are numerous studies and research papers done on which entry mode is best in different situations, but there is no simple task deciding which is the best unless one can see into the future. JV and WOS are two completely different entry modes with their distinct down and upsides. Entering a new market gives both great opportunities and involves high risk. There is much at stake but if one choose wrong entry mode it can cost the company tremendously, that is why one should not take this decision based on a few factors. The globalisation has given companies a bigger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If both companies in the partnership feel it is a win win situation the chance for success is bigger, and if they fail the cost will not be as devastating, the amount of risk is at a minimum compared to a WOS (Morschet, Schramm Klein, Zentes, 2010). 2.4 The disadvantages of JVs Being partners is not always easy, and it takes time and a lot of effort to build up a strong relationship between two companies. There are many uncertainties around partnerships, the partner can have a hidden agenda and have an opportunistic behavior (Aswathappa, 2010). The goal or objective for the partnership can be unclear and makes it difficult to know when they have succeeded. If there is an unbalance in the level of investment, effort or expertise the other partner can feel they are not getting what they expected. Many get caught up in endless conflicts, and often these issues are based on cultural differences. Most of these problems are management issues, but sometimes the company s management can agree on every point but the employers do not get enough information (businesslink.gov.uk). Without thorough research and effective communication the employers can start to working against the integration. 3. Discussion Setting up a WOS or JV can be a difficult choice but by doing a solid market research and an intern research of their own company the choice should be easier. If a company want to enter a foreign market ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. My Future As An Educator Ten books. The assignment was to bring in just ten books that influenced us in our childhood thus far. I went home and stared at my bookshelf, working again and again to make the pile on the ground in front of me smaller. Eventually, I had the most concise group books I could possibly have, and the next day I dragged three tote bags filled with thirty seven books into my fifth grade classroom. My classmates sat quietly while they heard the girl who they rarely heard speak give a synopsis of and praise to each title and author individually. It was ridiculous and operatic, but my love for literature was far too immense to do anything less. This love for words grew as I did, and at an early age, I realized that the best thing to do with such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... #). I hope to instill similar values in my students, not just through the curricular approved novels or texts that they immediately enjoy, but through a diverse variety of topics and perspectives that challenge them and their own beliefs including factual articles, historical texts, culturally diverse narratives, and more. This all encompassing collection will ideally ignite the same drive to learn as the ideas of Mary Shelley in Frankenstein ignited in me as she prompts, With how many things are we on the brink of becoming acquainted, if cowardice or carelessness did not restrain our inquiries? (p. #). This approach is not only instilled by Shelley and Patterson, but is supported through sociocultural historical theory. Students will be more engaged and will learn to use an interpretive lens that makes the literature more meaningful to them on a larger scale (Handsfield, 2013, p. #). Not only do I aspire to make students aware of the power of words available in the world, but I hope to make them aware of the power within themselves. Writing can be incredibly intimidating for anyone, and students often feel inadequate or incapable. Using the meaningful literature we read as mentor texts, I aim to make students aware of strategies and tools that authors use well with intentions that they can implement similar ... • 49. The Novel The Green Mile King s novel The Green Mile, was a depiction of horror and imagery, or as Harold Bloom stated, visually oriented scenarios. He teased the senses and gave an inevitable emotional twist at the end. This story follows a special inmate possessed some unworldly powers that changed people s fate, when he deemed worthy. John Coffey, last name like the drink, only not spelled the same way, (King 16) plays the hand of God in this story, when he saved a life, cured the incurable, punished the guilty, and changed the life of Paul Edgecomb inevitably. The arrival of John Coffey in fall of 1932 was a hot, normal day in the E Block cells (King 5). The guards saw this man as not much of a talker, but he often cried himself to sleep. He was sentenced there for the rape and murder of two little girls; a crime he did not commit. John Coffey was a large black man in both height and mass, but there was an oddity sensed about this man. Paul Edgecomb had been acquainted with many inmates over his years, but this is the first one he offered his hand to (King 19). Even now I don t know why, he stated (King 19). Coffey, a simple man, who talked very little, touched the guards hearts very quickly in his stay. From the start, it seemed Coffey knew he was going to be killed for the crime he did not commit. [He was] doomed and [maybe] even perhaps eager to die and put all of the pain and misery behind him (D Ammassa). He had a hand for healing, even though this man knew that life was ...
