Lord Capulet Fatherhood Quotes
Not every person is what they appear to be when you first meet them. The Tragedy of Romeo
and Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare, beholds a tragic love story and a feud between
two families. During the time period in which the play took place, marriages were not an act of
love, but rather parents typically would choose the right husband for their daughter. However, as
the head of the Capulet household, Lord Capulet, has different intentions on marriage for his
daughter, Juliet. In the beginning of Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet is relaxed when it comes to
fatherhood, but his attitude gradually shifts to being more controlling, and eventually, he becomes
cruel, forcing his daughter to marry, which ends in tragedy for her and his family. Lord Capulet
comes off relaxed in fatherhood in the beginning of Romeo and Juliet. Early on in the play, a fight
breaks out again between two wealthy families,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is revealed during a party he decided to throw so his loving daughter Juliet could meet Paris.
While no Montagues were invited to this party held by the Capulets, Romeo, son of Lord
Montague, showed up. Juliet s cousin, Tybalt, notices Romeo at the party and tells Lord Capulet.
Although Lord Capulet holds Tybalt back from getting into a fight with Romeo, Tybalt doesn t
listen and continues to rant on how Romeo is a villain. Lord Capulet, now annoyed by Tybalt s
disobedience, says He shall be endured. What, goodman boy! I say, he shall. Go to. Am I the
master here, or you? Go to. You ll not endure him! ( I, V, 76 9). Lord Capulet s outburst towards
Tybalt shows yet again that he has another more controlling side to him. He makes sure that Tybalt
knows that he is not the head of the Capulet household, but instead Lord Capulet is. Lord Capulet
has different attitudes and the play reveals that he seemingly is becoming less relaxed and more
controlling as the story continues to

Deaf Ethnic Groups
In the article should the Deaf Be Considered an Ethnic Group? By Susan Seligson the author
examines the attitudes towards the deaf community and their classification in society. The author
claims that the deaf community has major hurdles to over come to become a ethnic group including
the medical industries affection toward technology like cochlear implants which are usually
implanted into infants who may have hearing difficulties with doctors medical advice. Seligson
maintains the belief in which these implants are actually harmful to children because they can only
marginally hear which effects the socialization of the child because the child has to try to hear with

My Reflection Of My Experience In The Courtroom
For me, attending the Lindsey Flanigan Courthouse was the first experience I ve had in a
physical court room. From the moment I arrived, I felt fairly overwhelmed with so many court
rooms and cases being heard that day. I decided to go to the fifth floor, where felony cases were
being heard, and I thought it would be fairly exciting getting to hear felonycases compared to
misdemeanors. My expectations before going were mostly based on shows such as Law and
Order, in which the whole hour is spent hearing one specific case. But in reality, the proceedings
were far different from what I expected. When I arrived in the court room, the case of People v.
Larry Sanchez was being discussed. Mr. Sanchez, was not only in handcuffs, but also wearing a
correctional facilities green jumpsuit. Those simple facts led me to expect a lot of action, but after
a few minutes I noticed that it was simply an arraignment in which the judgeaccepted the defendant
s petition for pleabargain. I thought it was very interesting observing the side of the defendant,
since the defense attorneys were public defenders. Seeing them have a different client every few
minutes and having to know everything about their respective cases was very impressive.
Meanwhile, representing the people on the side of the prosecution for every case were two
attorneys. Neither of the attorneys seemed to do much beside state the facts of each case against
the defendants. The judge seemed to do a very good job and one quote

The Scientific Management And Human Relations
Organisational behaviour is influenced by two main theories, scientific management and human
relations. The scientific management approach developed by Frederick Winslow Taylor is one of
the earliest ideological approaches which attempted to explain a management process scientifically.
The main goal was to find the techniques to improve production efficiency of workers
scientifically. On the contrary, human relations studied by Elton Mayo studied the social
interactions within a working environment. Through his studies, he found that social relationships
motivates workers at their workplaces (Daft Samson 2014; Miller Form, 1964).Based on the two
approaches, this paper looks into the assumptions made on workers; the path managers should take
to maximise the efficiency of workers and lastly, my choice between these two approaches as a
worker.
Scientific management assumes the economic man concept where a worker acts rationally to
protect their own interests. In this case, the workers interest lies in money. Therefore, the
worker does what is asked of them for a better wage. For example, Schimdt did as instructed for a
pay of $1.85 per hour which is higher than the average of $1.15 per hour. By following the
instructions given, he managed to load 47 tons a day instead of the average of 12 and a half tons
(Miller Form 1964). This signifies that by following instructions, the efficiency of a worker will
increase as long as they are rewarded highly.
Using the economic

Immanuel Kant Essay
The minority is a weakness to make usage of one s own appreciation without bearing from another.
This minority is self gained when its cause lies not without seeing, but instead without assurance,
and grit to use it without heading from another. In Kant s article stating what is Enlightenment ?
Immanuel Kantcharacterizes enlightenment as man s rising up out of his purposeful youthfulness.
With the goal for us to totally comprehend this definition, we should first comprehend what Kant
implied by Adolescence. In the written work Kant characterizes youthfulness as the failure to utilize
one s understanding without the direction from another. Moreover, Kant trusts that this
youthfulness is deliberate and that it is the individual s blame for without the boldness and set out

I considerably concur with this thought, be that as it may, his comments on immaturity in
connection to the administration, the way individuals ought to live, and religion is very reckless
and nonsensical. In like manner, I do concur that individuals ought to have the capacity to live
uninhibitedly, and have a problem solving attitude, in any case, I don t concur that they need to live
without standards, directions or a legislature. With regards to edification Kant trusts that freedom is
an ideal approach to accomplish enlightenment. Opportunity as per Kant is unique in relation to our
typical definition. Opportunity regarding edification implies the capacity to freely utilize one

Ganesh An Elephant-Headed God In The Hindu Religion
Ganesha: An Elephant Headed Deity Ganesha, the Elephant Headed God, is the most worshipped
god in the Hindu religion most commonly practiced in India. He represents Wisdom and the
distinction between good and bad and is the leader of ganas, also known as beings. When Ganesha
was created, his creator and/or mother, Parvatihad created him out of anger when her husband Shiva
s followers betrayed her due to their loyalty. Parvati being jealous, created Ganeshafrom the dirt on
her body to have someone who was loyal to her like her husband did. Once Shiva discovered this
and Ganesha would not let Shiva pass through to see Parvati, he sent out an army to kill Ganesha.

being a good listener and his small mouth representing talking less, these two qualities together
show that he is one to listen to other s problems rather than talk about his own. In many images
Ganesha is shown holding three items, a noose, an elephant goad, and sweet candy called
laddoo the objects in his lower right hand represent his blessings and protection. Ganesha is
known to reduce karma and guide you in your difficult journeys. These are one of many qualities
portrayed by Ganesha. In the Hindu religion, they believe in sacrifice for your beliefs. Ganesha
has learned the true meaning of sacrifice. Ganesha is shown with a broken tusk, here he had
broken off his tusk in order to write the Mahabharata a poem known around the world. This
shows his sacrifice in order to prove to his higher beings that he is dedicated to his followers and
will do anything to guide them down the right path towards success and happiness. Ganesha was
the god to guide all beings through their struggles and is their to re ensure that his followers will
become successful as long as they keep their faith. There are many qualities Ganesha wished to

Feminism In Sesame Street
Sesame Workshop s decision to incorporate a transgender Muppet on the show mirrors the gradual
changes that have progressively taken place within the framework of feminism. The Eastern
Kentucky University Women and Gender Studies Program defined the evolution of feminism as:
Historically, feminism has evolved from the critical examination of inequality between the sexes
with a more nuanced focus on the social and performative constructions of gender and sexuality
(2017). In other words, the feminist establishment has transformed along with time to reflect the
changes in society. Which perfectly makes sense! In order, for progress to occur, you must move
along with the times, and Sesame Streethas done that. Thus, the show will continue to positively
influence hundreds of American youth because they know that social evolution is the key to success!
Similarly, Sesame Street touches on the complexities surrounding race. Segi is a black, female
Muppet who made her debut in Season 42. This progression can be viewed as positive as it was a
racially diversifying move. However, the character was not given a name until Season 45 (Muppet
Wiki 2017). Therefore, I find the addition of the character to be an important aspect supporting
racial equality, but the fact that she remained unnamed for three seasons seems to be rather
counterproductive. Eventually, Sesame Workshopnamed Segi after Joey Mazzarino s adopted
daughter, for whom Mazzarino wrote: I Love My Hair (Muppet Wiki 2017).

Summary Of The Crying Of Lot 49
The mid and late 20th century is marked by the cultural movement known as postmodernism, which
redefined philosophy and literature. Postmodernism challenged the established modernist style of
literature by deconstructing the notion of an objective reality and championing satire, skepticism,
and paranoia. The notion of self determination and one s ability to control their own life is largely
dependent on their ability to actualize their identity: to find meaning in their life. But, any
postmodernist would be skeptical of the idea that one can ever actually find true meaning in a
society filled with superficial and meaningless ideals. One of the preeminent works of postmodern
literature, The Crying of Lot 49, attempts to explore and critique this notion of self determination
as it relates to popular culture and society. Oedipa Maas, a suburban housewife, finds her life
unraveling before her as she discovers a world conspiracy by the underground organization The
Trystero to dominate the mail carrier industry. As Oedipa finds herself more and more isolated, she
tries to find self validation and meaning in her life. In The Crying of Lot 49, Thomas Pynchon
critiques the notion of self determination by asserting that to truly find meaning in life ones must
reject mainstream society. Through the use of satire and the instability of his characters, Pynchon
asserts the idea life is desiccated within the confines of a superficial consumerist society. In The
Crying of Lot 49, the

Attenuated Vaccine
Smallpox is considered as an acute contagious disease that is induced by the variola virus. It used
to be one of the world s most disastrous diseases known to mankind. The last known natural case
was in Somalia in 1977. It was declared eradicated in 1980 following a global immunization
campaign led by the World Health Organization. Several vaccinationcampaigns, surveillance and
preventive measures were held out, targeting the infected areas and affected communities. These
approaches were employed to combat the disease. The eradication strategy relied on routine and
mass vaccination. The eradication of smallpox is the extinction of virus by the synchronization of
vaccination, rendering the disease nonexistent and control excess. The obliteration... Show more

Presently, vaccines have an outstanding safety record and most vaccine scares are just false
alarms or myths. In that respect are several benefits when it comes to vaccination, which
includes helping in eradication, elimination and prevention of diseases, it helps in reducing
mortality and morbidity rates and other complications. Vaccines can help in increasing the life
expectancy rates by protecting against diseases. In developing countries vaccination programs
are believed to be the cornerstones of primary health care services. There are also certain
limitation or risks to having vaccinations and its side effects varies in different individuals. For
instance, few people may endure from a mild reaction to a certain vaccine and definitely it is
short lived. It is far better to be safe than sorry. The hazards of having serious infections or
diseases that can be fatal is way greater than taking a chance of experiencing a serious
consequence. Using a vaccine is much cheaper compared to treating a serious illness. The most
severe allergic reaction following an administration of a vaccine is called an anaphylactic reaction.
The person may experience difficulty in breathing and sometime may collapse. This is extremely
rare and the vaccination staff is trained to deal with such events. These reactions are completely
reversible if treated promptly. The benefits of vaccination are

What Was The Immediate Legacy Of The Jay Spring
Legacy: The immediate legacy of the Prague Spring was the dissident movement , lead by groups
of mostly writers and intellectuals, which focused on overthrowing the government entirely. On
January 16th, 1969, a student named Jan Palach set himself on fire in Prague to protest the
censorship of free speech (Stoneman). In the weeks following his death, about half a million people
lost their jobs and the Communist party purged half a million members while others resigned
(BBC). Dissidents blamed the Soviets for his death and they became more motivated to create
political change, so they published the Charter 77 Declaration , a charter for human rights made in
1977 (Stoneman, BBC). This document called on the government to recognize that there were
violations of treaties that had guaranteed certain freedoms, such as religious confession and public
expression.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Time hums, beckoning me to fall into its abyss of black backdrops and starlit skies, crawling into

Arguments Against Federalism
Federalism is defined as Congress must be kept within the limits of the enumerated powers of the
Constitution. As long as people have the right to leave political jurisdictions they find undesirable,
states or smaller government units have to bear the costs of their mistakes. Individuals who prefer
freedom to government order should be encouraged because although federalismdoes not ensure
freedom, freedom fares better under federalism than under a completely centralized politics.
An example of conservatives and liberals stand on federalism is on Death Penalty. From the Liberal
side, death penalty should be abolished because It is cruel and an unusual punishment.

How To Write An Essay On The Catcher In The Rye Man Vs...
Catcher in the Rye Catcher in the Rye is a novel written in 1951 by J.D. Salinger. J.D. Salinger
was an American novelist who is widely known for writing Catcher in the Rye. I know of a
quote from him, which I really think is inspiring. An artist s only concern is to shoot for some
kind of perfection, and on his own terms, not anyone else s. This says a lot about his writing,
because it certainly isn t like anyone else s! As an artist, his author s craft was perfect according
to his guidelines, so he didn t need to be compared to other writers. J.D. Salinger wrote other
books like Franny and Zooey and A Perfect Day for Bananafish, though I have not read them. His
other stories go mainly unnoticed because of the attention centered on Catcher in the Rye. The
story takes place in New York in the late 1940s at Pencey Prep School and New York City. The
main character, Holden Caulfield, tells the story while in California. An interesting note here is that
the story takes place in only three days, from Saturday afternoon to Monday afternoon, even though
it seems much longer. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

novel, however a memorable instance was when Holden felt guilty about Allie s death, and how

said, however, that the main conflict was Holden isolating himself from his family and his
schoolmates. Holden wants to be treated as an adult and have adult experiences (like sex), but is

Doctrine of Double Effect Essay
Alecia Rhines
Doctrine of Double Effect
Trident University
What is the Doctrine of Double Effect?
The doctrine of double effect if often invoked to explain the permissibility of an action that
causes a serious harm, such as the death of a human being, as a side effect of promoting good
ends. It is claimed that sometimes it is permissible to cause such harm as a side effect of bringing
about a good result even though it would not be permissible to cause such harm as a means to
bringing about the same good end. The reasoning is summarized with the claim that sometimes it is
permissible to bring about as merely foreseen side effect a harmful event that it would be
impermissible to bring about intentionally (Uniacke 1984). It is not ... Show more content on

Narrative Essay About Baseball
Lights blaring into my eyes, the crack of the bat, the shouting of the overly devoted parents, the
salty aroma arising off of the freshly roasted peanuts, all came together to create the
overwhelming presence of a little league baseball game. This was a place where I spent most of
my time on week day afternoons, in the spring, watching my brother succeed at America s pastime.
He was really quite good at this sport called baseball; he had just been granted the position of
starting pitcher for the team. Sometimes things that have occurred in my life, and stuff I have
received, that I may not have necessarily deserve, can be taken for granted. However, after what
was about to take place my eyes are given a new perspective. My brother s baseball game had just
concluded, which was marked by the sound of a buzzer. The final score: 14 4. His team had clearly
won, and the parents around were saying Congratulations son!
However all my brother needed from me was a good game! Mainly because it was an expectation,
from my dad and I that Austin would play well.
My dad figured in order to celebrate the win, we would run by Dairy Queen and pick up a little
snack size Blizzard. However, we would never make it there...
Sitting in the car while my dad was driving us home, we came to a stop at a red light. I can still

In the initial stages of claiming the assets, everything was going well until I found out that the
belligerent beneficiary was the new owner of the safe deposit box (the box). As described in the
article Opening the Safe Deposit Box of an Estate, the executor must follow a process to open a

the gruesome discovery:
Call the beneficiary to inform the beneficiary that they own the safe deposit box.
Inform the beneficiary that they must be present in order to open the box.
Instruct the beneficiary to call the bank and set an appointment to open the box.
Since the key wasn t found at the estate, ask the beneficiary about the key.
While on the phone with the belligerent beneficiary, I knew the beneficiary would take this
opportunity to try and extort more property from the estate, or, try to get more involved with the
management of the estate. As the business portion of the call ended, sure enough, the conversation
switched to personal property. The beneficiary felt entitled to more property and didn t hold back

quotes from Warren Buffett on his investment style. Buffett is attributed with saying conventional
diversification makes no sense for [a know something investor]. It is apt simply to hurt your
results and increase your risk. Buffett s rationale is that investors should not buy shares of a stock
unless they feel the company they are buying into will be around for a while. To make an
assumption that a particular company will still be a functioning body in the future would require
some knowledge of the company s financial situation and the industry in which it operates.
Essentially, Buffett believes that people should only invest in companies with which they are
familiar. Along these lines, one of his strongholds is that many people purchase stocks of
companies in industries with which they are not familiar for the sake of diversification. Making a

Why Do Students Should Participate In Music Programs
Today, many schools focus on preparing their students for their lives beyond the classrooms. They
do so by focusing their limited resources on programs that they deem necessary for a proper
education. Furthermore, when schools make cut backs, music programs are one of the first to be
terminated. Ironically, musicembodies many of the subjects that are not eliminated: mathematics,
history, science, reading, etc. Music requires self discipline, accountability, and teamwork: traits
that most employers seek in young applicants. Students should participate in music programs
because they foster cognitive development, inspire teamwork, and encourage students to adapt a
solid work ethic.

Notes On Brain And Brains Essay
1.Brain cells and brains evolved pretty recently about 250 million years ago, compared to the
appearance of the first life forms to arise.
First evolved neurons and muscles to assist animals with movement.
Nerve net a connection of neurons that receive sensory information and send signals to other
neurons that are involved in muscle movement.
The first bilateral symmetry was described in flatworms, the nervous system on one side is almost
identical to the other side, the human nervous system is arranged the same way.
Segmentation, first observed in earthworms, whose bodies consist of several repeating segments,
just like a human spinal cord.
Ganglia. The first brain like structure (a collection of neurons that function somewhat like brain)
was found in clams, octopuses, snails, and insects.
Spinal cord connects our brain and all the body parts senses. Was first found in highly evolved
chordates.
Brain. Amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals share this unique part of our central nervous
system, but the human brain appears to be the largest relative to body size.
It is believed that our ancestors brains evolved from changing their life styles: having an upright
posture, constructing and using tools, and developing language.
2.The human brain and a spinal cord make up the central nervous system (CNS), which is
responsible for mediating our behavior; it processes the afferent sensory information carried by the
peripheral nervous system (PNS) all

people The Scientific Revolution, it challenged conceptions and beliefs about the nature of the

Pros And Cons Of Offshore Drilling
In today s world, oil plays a very important role in our everyday lives. It is used daily for various
things which includes: transportation, electricity, heat etc. Most of the oils we use either came
from underground drilling or came from other countries. But because of the decrease of supply
in oil, people started to look for alternative ways to find oil. Offshore drilling became the new
way of oil drilling. It is an oil extraction technique that extracts oil from the sea bed. There are
both pros and cons to offshore drilling. In my opinion, the cons outweighs the pros. One of the
most obvious pro of offshore drilling is that it greatly increases the amount of oil we use for fuel
and energy, which in terms helps out our economy. It also allows us to not rely on other
countries to supply the oil. This can help us reduce the oil price because if the oil is produced in
our own country, other countries don t have a say on the oil price. Another pro of offshore drilling
is that it creates more job opportunities for people. Many skilled people are needed to operate the
equipment, which opens up doors for new workers.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

leads to a lot of environmental problems. One of the problem is carbon emissions. High amounts
of carbon emission is put into the atmosphere causes by the drill that is used to drill the seabed.
This contributes to the global warming problem. Another major problem is oil spill. Oil spills
causes a lot of damage to the marine life. It also contaminates the water. All the fishes in the ocean

Prevalence Of Injuries During Sports Activities Essay
Introduction:
Prevalence of injuries during sports activities has become a common phenomenon in all over the
world, requiring to attention of all workers in the sports field, despite the tremendous progress in
various medical and sports sciences that use the modern methods in training, diagnosis, treatment,
rehabilitation and prevention and provision of specialist coaches, doctors and physiotherapists, but
the sports injuries are inevitable and are remain a mostly widespread among elite athletes,
threatening their performance levels and a barrier to achieve the expected goals in different sports
activities (Asser S. A., 2012) (Hatami K. et al, 2011).
Sports injuries can have a variety of causes and vary between different sports and different
individuals and have adverse effects that may hamper participation in sports activities and can
repeatedly affect the same individual making it necessary to count not only injured persons but also
sport injury events. In addition, sports injuries result in substantial costs for society, making these
injuries a societal problem, need to conduct more studies to prevent them (Petridou E., 2004)

Humanity and Social Forces
Humanity has been trying to formulate an answer to the question of why we do what we do for
years and years. The field of psychology searches for the answer within us, that is to say, they
examine the internal forces that make us do what we do. However, sociology searches for the
answer in terms of external forces. Sociologysets out to prove that human behavior is controlled
by forces of social interaction, while in turn the behaviors of humans control the forces of social
interaction in a cycle that controls many aspects of life. The way in which people behave and
conduct their lives can be based on a plethora of factors such as social stratification. Through
social stratification people are grouped into social layers based on their property, power, and
prestige (Henslin). Social locations also play an important role in human behavior. Social class
divides people based on income, education, and occupation (Henslin). Social statuses allow
division and labeling based upon different positions that someone occupies. For example, a man
is the CEO of a corporation, therefore one of his statuses is CEO, which may cause others to
treat him differently because of his status. Not only does his status influence the people s
behavior around him, it also influences his own behavior as a result of how he is treated.
However, while some social statuses are given, others you are born with. The term ascribed status
is used to describe a status with which one is born, such as gender

Warpaint Influence
Warpaint, the indie rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California have been known for their
moody, reflective lyrics and their intricate, ethereal, mantra like guitar riffs. Their first full length
release, 2010 s The Fool, and their latest album, Heads Up, differ in terms of the overall feel and
influence. However, their signature contemplative lyrics and one of a kind musical style in addition
to their main influences are present in both releases.
Warpaint s The Fool contains their signature tense, dreamy style of music. Songs like Set Your
Arms Down and Majesty are prime examples of this, with yearning lyrics and an overall calm,
sleepy sound that leaves you with an almost ghostly feeling. However, on Heads Up, though there
are songs that are reminiscent of that feeling (Today Dear, Dre), the overall atmosphere of the
majority of the record is quite different. Present in this album is a more pop y, get out of your seat

Though their influences and undertones of their music may differ from album to album, Warpaint
stays true to their roots. They keep their ethereal and temperamental atmosphere present in all of

Title Influence of Multichannel Selling Strategies Towards Consumer Buying Behaviour
Introduction The research dissertation that is proposed throughout this paper brings an indication
towards the topic of multichannel enhancement. The topic has seen a major shift in how consumers
are using the multichannel environment to purchase more and more than ever before (Jones,
2013). The retail environment has evolved with this consumer shift, in becoming more dynamic
towards the customer s needs and creating a more customised channel (Whitler, 2016). A personal
interest comes towards this topic from my involvement in retail over the past five years,
experiencing this retail evolvement first hand. Literature Review The developed definition of the
use of multichannel in the retail market has been branded towards the opening of multiple channels
to communicate towards the customer (Zhang et al., 2010). The importance of multichannel selling
strategies has significantly grown with the rise of new business channels emerging into the market
(Stojković et al., 2016). In view of this growth, a dominant approach of retailers combining
classical (store) channels and electronic (website) channels has shown extensive successes for most
of the world s leading retailers (Stojković et al., 2016). In addition to this potential success for the
retailer, the benefits can also be passed onto the customer, which will be discussed, then simply

Pros And Cons Of Human Genetic Modification
Human genetic modification is that direct manipulation of the genome using molecular engineering
techniques. Also known as gene editing and can be implied in two different ways, somatic and
germline modification. Somatic ads, cuts or changes the genes in some of the cells of an existing
person. While germline genetic modification changes the genes in embryos most known as gene
editing for reproduction. These alterations would appear in every cell of the mother who
developed the embryo and although it has not be tried in humans, it will soon be. Human germline
modification is prohibited in more than 40 countries as it can be dangerous. Many people do not

The Maze Runner Series Of Books
I ve been an avid reader since an early age. From grades three to about eight, I read almost every
night and I read so much that I got in trouble quite a lot for reading. I haven t read a whole lot in
the past few years because there haven t really been any series that interested me. The Maze
Runner series was really good and I read that last year. The last good series before that was the
Gone series. In addition to books, I spent, and still do spend, a lot of time on the internet reading
about topics that interest me. I m constantly looking for new books to read. I also really liked the
Harry Potterseries of books, I read them all in the eighth grade.
I remember when I was young I read a lot of books. I kind of hit my peak with reading at age ten
through eleven. I read every night, sometimes I would read up until midnight. I read so much
that I actually got in trouble at school multiple times for reading while class was going on. I
remember a moment when the teacher was so frustrated with me for reading while he was
talking, he berated me in front of the class. That wasn t a good experience, and I remember being
really embarrassed. I had a lot of bullying problems at the time and a few of them were in that
class, so that gave them more ammo. But that was just one time, and normally I was just told to put
the book away.

The Cold War Developed Between The Soviet Union And The...
The Cold War developed between the Soviet Union and the United States in response to post World
War II tensions between the two nations. The U.S. and the U.S.S.R. emerged from World War II as
the only two countries able to propagate their specific social and political systems on a global scale.
With expansive capitalist (United States) or communist (USSR) ideologies and powerful military
forces, each nation feared and distrusted the other. This cultural clash resulted in mutual suspicions,
propaganda campaigns, media battles, and international incidents that brought these two
superpowers to the brink of nuclear devastation. No direct military conflict between the two nations
ever ensued; however, the constant threat of nuclear proliferation held the world s concentrated
attention on the two superpowers from 1945 to 1991. Fueled by modern weapon development,
aerospace triumphs, and spirited Olympic Games, the power struggle was a constant rivalry that
permeated all aspects of the global landscape including sports competitions and mass media. By the
1970s, television viewing outstripped the motion picture market, but Hollywood continued to
produce a wide array of cinema selections including military, spy, and sports genre films that
promoted America s need for a strong, masculine presence while idolizing the male physique.

suffered the brunt of the racial discrimination that ran rampant in Canada, and were treated

met with prejudice and racial stereotyping on arrival, there was no other group that experienced the

Chinese immigrants were not only denounced for their negative impact on Canada s economy, but
as a greater threat towards Canada s culture. As such, many community leaders, labour organization
leaders and even government officials called for exclusionary measures against Chinese
immigrants, ranging from stripping them of their ability to organize to implementing harsh
limitations on immigration and business conduct. It was assumed by labour leaders that Asian
workers were impossible to organize, and therefore felt they had no choice but to demand
exclusionary policies, regardless of the Asian involvement in labour militancy which closely
aligned with the goals of Canadian labour unions (Goutor, 2007, 554). At the time, many other
policies were also enacted to severely limit the already scarce amount of freedom that Chinese
immigrants had, one of which was the Act to Prevent the Employment of Female Labour in
Certain Capacities which was a statute that made it a criminal offense for Chinese men to employ
white women (Backhouse, 1996, 315). The act was put into motion by the propaganda fed fear of
Chinese men, who were regularly portrayed as sexual predators [that] sought to take advantage of
white women (Goutor, 2007, 556). The Chinese Immigration Act came into effect in 1923,

opinionated manner. In this way, she is mostly effective in delivering her statement about positive

Coding Theory, Its Components And Its Practical Applications
This case study covers the coding theory, its components and its practical applications. Coding
theory, sometimes called logarithmic coding hypothesis, manages the configuration of lapse
remedying codes for the dependable transmission of data crosswise over uproarious channels.
Error coding is utilized as a part of numerous advanced provisions like workstation memory,
attractive and optical information stockpiling media. The investigation of mistake rectifying codes
and the cohorted arithmetic is known as coding hypothesis. In information theory, the amount of
positions at which the relating images are distinctive between two strings is Hamming distance.
Hamming code is a set of error correction codes that might be utilized to recognize and right bit
errors that can happen when machine information is moved or put away.
There is lot of examples of coding theory; one of the biggest examples of its use is in
communication field, i e modulation, encryption and decryption of signal.
Coding Theory A Case
In 1948, Claude Shannon, working at Bell Laboratories in the USA, introduced the entire subject of
coding hypothesis by indicating that it was conceivable to encode messages in such a path, to the
point that the amount of additional bits transmitted was as little as would be prudent. Unfortunately,
his confirmation did not give any express formulas for these ideal codes. It was two years after the
fact that Richard Hamming, likewise at Bell Labs, started considering

Go Set A Watchman, By Harper Lee
Prompt #5 In the book Go Set A Watchman , Dr. Finch said not much more than 5% of the South

away from the racist views which are clearly present in characters like Dr. Finch and Grady O
Hanlon. Although the validity of this statement is questionable, the impact slaveryhad on society in
this country is clear. Slavery impacted many aspects of society, including the people of Maycomb,
the views of the Southern/Northern states, and racial tension in today s society.
The statement made by Dr. Finch was, in fact, inaccurate. When you look at the results of the 1860
census, you see that the overall percent of families owning slaves is only 8% in the United States as
a whole(CivilWar.net). However, in his statement from the book, he specifically said not much
more than 5% of the South ever saw a slave, much less owned one. The keywords in this
statement were South and Saw . Both of these words can be disproved by the 1860 census. If
you were to look at the different states separately, you would see that almost all southern states
were at or above 25% when looking at families who own slaves. This proves that much more than
5% of the south owned slaves. However, if you were to look at the data as a whole, you would
be mislead by thinking this 8% was a representation of the south. This is most likely what Dr.
Finch s error was when saying this. This is why I do believe that

Their approach states that the computational complexity is significantly reduced by approximating
twiddle factors needed in the DFT structure. More specifically, it reduces the number of

significantly without data rate loss and does not require the extra side information. However, the
optimal TI scheme requires an exhaustive search for all combinations of possible permutations of

Muscle Contraction Essay
Q1
Muscle contraction can be understood as the consequence of a process of transmission of action
potentials from one neuron to another. A chemical called acetylcholine is the neurotransmitter
released from the presynaptic neuron. As the postsynaptic cells on the muscle cell membrane
receive the acetylcholine, the channels for the cations sodium and potassium are opened. These
cations produce a net depolarization of the cell membrane and this electrical signal travels along the
muscle fibers. Through the movement of calcium ions, the muscle action potential is taken into
actual muscle contraction with the interaction of two types of proteins, actin and myosin. Different
steps of activities are involved in muscle contraction. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This activity is the critical driving force of muscle contraction. The stream of action potentials along
the muscle fiber surface is terminated as Acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction is broken
down by acetyl cholinesterase. The release of Calcium ions is ceased. The action of the myosin
molecule heads is obstructed because of the change in the configuration of troponin and
tropomyosin due to the absence of calcium ions. This will eventually cause the contraction to be
ceased. Together with these physical processes, an external stretching force such as gravity pulls
the muscle back to its normal length.

Analysis Of The Tuesday Wars By S. D. Hollings
Some books are so different even though they are in the same time period.
The authors of these book, S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders, and Gary D. Schmidt, The Wednesday
Wars, did a great job at making these books. The main characters, Ponyboy and Holling, are well
thought out. The Outsiders is a book about a boy who is a gang and have lost his parents. The
gang is a part of the Greasers, the poor kids, who are always attacked by the Socs., the rich kids.
One day Ponyboy and Johnny are attacked and Johnny kills one. They run away where they save
kids from a burning church. They get burns and are rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile Ponyboy
and Greasers are having a rumble with the Socs. After the rumble Johnny dies in the hospital and
Dally is killed by police because he wanted to die. The Wednesday Wars is about a 7th grader
who thinks his teacher hates him. He doesn t have parents who care about him and sister thinks
he has no guts. He learns that Mrs. Baker is actually nice when she helps him practice for events
such as the play and track meet. His dad however is only thinking about business and not about
his kids. Holling eventually stands up to him. The characters have plenty of differences between
them from their parents, to the personality, but they have the same kinds of friends. Ponyboy and
Hollings parents are completely different. In The Outsiders, Ponyboy says to Randy that his
parents were really nice but they died in a car accident. My parents are dead. I live here with just
Darry and Soda, my brothers (Hinton, 140) He had good parents but they died and now he has
Darry as a parent making sure he does well in school and about his health too. My father wasn t
there. I guess the Bing Crosby Christmas Special wasn t over yet. ... I decided I would wait for
my father for five minutes. So I counted three hundred Mississippi s. No car. (Schmidt, 59)
Holling was waiting for his dad to come pick him up to drive him to the Sports Emporium. But
his father wasn t there. Even if his father didn t come his mother should of came to pick him up,
but she didn t. Ponyboy s parents were nice, but died in a car accident and Holling s dad and mom
cares more about the business and T.V show than their kids. There are

one Phosgene has a large history, invented by a chemist in Britain in the year 1812. With the
chemical make up of COCL2 at room temperature phosgene will evaporate and give off vapors
concentrated enough to cause respiratory damage, used widely in the Great War and also in
World War II. In the Great War phosgene had accounted for over half of the deaths caused by
chemical warfare. This material in the military is widely known as CG but now in modern days
this material is used generally to make plastics and pesticides. Phosgene is a toxic gas and can be
lethal in concentrated amounts the Department of Transportation requires that during
transportation it is to be stored in a DOT 106 ton container on the railway as well as on cargo

Positive Impact Of Afforestation Essay
Science
Impact of Afforestation
Introduction:
What is Deforestation? Deforestation is the process of human cutting down trees and destroying the
habitats of animals and lives. People would certainly think that deforestation would not be
something good for the environment, and afforestation would cause a positive impact on the
environment. Well, most people have his perspective like that. The scientist had found proofs that
afforestation has the negative impact on the habitats of animals and the whole environment. But
how this kind of activity would harm people and animals?
Environment: How do people and animals live? Well, they would need to depend on some biotic
and abiotic factors. Water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen etc. One of them is Oxygen, oxygen is one of
the factors that would have a big impact on human and animals. No oxygen, no us. Afforestation is
one of the ways to maintain oxygen from all those environmental problems we are right now facing
on this planet. Plants are producers, they use sunlight and carbon to do a process called
photosynthesis. When plants do this photosynthesis, they produce oxygen out. Trees are one of the
producers that use photosynthesis and brings oxygen to us. This is one of the benefits from
afforestation, but does this proofs that afforestation does more things that got positive impact?
During this couple of century, people had been giving the goal of afforestation. Although people
still had achieved some bits of the goal,

Kierkegaard And Communism
On first and second glance, it may appear impossible to draw any concrete connection between the
philosophy of SГёren Kierkegaard, a seventeenth century Danish Philosopher who worked heavily
on existential themes, faith, and Christianity, and the Soviet Union. On one hand, Kierkegaard
himself lived his life almost solely in Denmark, rarely leaving his own hometown, so his
experience of the World outside of Denmark was extremely limited and focused on his world,
especially the world of the Danish National Church. On the other hand, the Soviet Union embraced
Communism, and with it its atheistic stances on social and political implications of religion and
religious institutions, the Soviet ideology would appear to stand in opposition to the... Show more

In order to attempt this sort of analysis, there are a number of factors that must be addressed first,
with the most crucial being the understanding of Kierkegaard, his relevant works, and his
Philosophy. SГёren Aabye Kierkegaard was born in 1813 in Copenhagen to Ane SГёrensdatter
Lund Kierkegaard and Michael Pedersen Kierkegaard, the latter a pastor of the Danish National
Church. According to Daniel Conway, a professor of Philosophy and the Humanities at Texas A
M, although influential today for his diverse contributions to the fields of philosophy, theology,
rhetoric, literary theory, and depth philosophy, Kierkegaard was widely known in his own day as
a provocative social critic (Conway 2015, 1). He was highly critical of the church in his
hometown, and the Danish National Church in general, in addition to Christianity and what it
meant for one to have faith in the almighty. Thus, much of Kierkegaard s work deals with faith and
Christianity to some extent, as seen with Fear and Trembling, the work that will be most heavily
sourced within this thesis. Kierkegaard s Fear and Trembling was written and published in 1843
under the pseudonym Johannes de Silentio. Kierkegaard often wrote and published his works under
different pseudonyms, each often having some sort of significance to the work in which it is
situated. The significance of the pseudonym of Fear and Trembling, according to the author of

Consider The Lobster, By David Foster Wallace
In today s era, people are growing more and more conscious of animal rights and the humane
treatment of them. People tend to think of the usual cows, pigs, sheeps, etc., when they think of the
fair treatment of animals, often overlooking that of crustaceans such as lobsters and crabs.
Thousands of lobster are fished or farmed for the enjoyment of a rare, tasty dinner. David Foster
Wallacepresents his readers in his piece, Consider the Lobster, with the argument that animal
sufferingis a complicated and uncomfortable matter. As humans, we are not able to feel what other
animals feel, but the most we can know about it comes from research and analysis. While some
behaviorist philosophers and other researchers claim lobsters do not feel... Show more content on

It is not appropriate to play with the life of another living thing in ____ of a guessing game. And
so, this is where the big debate of whether boiling lobsters is right comes in. Lobsters and crabs
are both crustaceans with relatively related genetic and anatomical makeup. While there is no in
depth trial or experiment on lobsters assessing a type of pain stimuli, there is a study performed
on crabs, which could be useful in attempting to understand lobsters as well. Robert Elwood, an
animal behavior researcher, focused on avoidance learning to get a better sense of whether or not
crustaceans could perceive pain. He set up some crabs with two habitats to choose from: one
which gave a shock when entered, and the other which did not. After he ran the trial through
multiple times, the crabs were more likely to select the non shocking environment to go after
(Elwood). In nature, animals adapt in order to try and minimize damage to their body. Pain is a
sudden and efficient method to recognize that a certain condition is causing harm to the body. It
can be inferred that the crabs felt pain because they changed their long term memory of which
shelter to choose in order to avoid being shocked. This proves that the crabs have the understanding
to identify between a pleasant and unpleasant stimulus. If crabs have the capability of doing so,

  • 2. Lord Capulet Fatherhood Quotes Not every person is what they appear to be when you first meet them. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare, beholds a tragic love story and a feud between two families. During the time period in which the play took place, marriages were not an act of love, but rather parents typically would choose the right husband for their daughter. However, as the head of the Capulet household, Lord Capulet, has different intentions on marriage for his daughter, Juliet. In the beginning of Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet is relaxed when it comes to fatherhood, but his attitude gradually shifts to being more controlling, and eventually, he becomes cruel, forcing his daughter to marry, which ends in tragedy for her and his family. Lord Capulet comes off relaxed in fatherhood in the beginning of Romeo and Juliet. Early on in the play, a fight breaks out again between two wealthy families,... While no Montagues were invited to this party held by the Capulets, Romeo, son of Lord Montague, showed up. Juliet s cousin, Tybalt, notices Romeo at the party and tells Lord Capulet. Although Lord Capulet holds Tybalt back from getting into a fight with Romeo, Tybalt doesn t listen and continues to rant on how Romeo is a villain. Lord Capulet, now annoyed by Tybalt s disobedience, says He shall be endured. What, goodman boy! I say, he shall. Go to. Am I the master here, or you? Go to. You ll not endure him! ( I, V, 76 9). Lord Capulet s outburst towards Tybalt shows yet again that he has another more controlling side to him. He makes sure that Tybalt knows that he is not the head of the Capulet household, but instead Lord Capulet is. Lord Capulet has different attitudes and the play reveals that he seemingly is becoming less relaxed and more controlling as the story continues to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. My Reflection Of My Experience In The Courtroom For me, attending the Lindsey Flanigan Courthouse was the first experience I ve had in a physical court room. From the moment I arrived, I felt fairly overwhelmed with so many court rooms and cases being heard that day. I decided to go to the fifth floor, where felony cases were being heard, and I thought it would be fairly exciting getting to hear felonycases compared to misdemeanors. My expectations before going were mostly based on shows such as Law and Order, in which the whole hour is spent hearing one specific case. But in reality, the proceedings were far different from what I expected. When I arrived in the court room, the case of People v. Larry Sanchez was being discussed. Mr. Sanchez, was not only in handcuffs, but also wearing a correctional facilities green jumpsuit. Those simple facts led me to expect a lot of action, but after a few minutes I noticed that it was simply an arraignment in which the judgeaccepted the defendant s petition for pleabargain. I thought it was very interesting observing the side of the defendant, since the defense attorneys were public defenders. Seeing them have a different client every few minutes and having to know everything about their respective cases was very impressive. Meanwhile, representing the people on the side of the prosecution for every case were two attorneys. Neither of the attorneys seemed to do much beside state the facts of each case against the defendants. The judge seemed to do a very good job and one quote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Scientific Management And Human Relations Organisational behaviour is influenced by two main theories, scientific management and human relations. The scientific management approach developed by Frederick Winslow Taylor is one of the earliest ideological approaches which attempted to explain a management process scientifically. The main goal was to find the techniques to improve production efficiency of workers scientifically. On the contrary, human relations studied by Elton Mayo studied the social interactions within a working environment. Through his studies, he found that social relationships motivates workers at their workplaces (Daft Samson 2014; Miller Form, 1964).Based on the two approaches, this paper looks into the assumptions made on workers; the path managers should take to maximise the efficiency of workers and lastly, my choice between these two approaches as a worker. Scientific management assumes the economic man concept where a worker acts rationally to protect their own interests. In this case, the workers interest lies in money. Therefore, the worker does what is asked of them for a better wage. For example, Schimdt did as instructed for a pay of $1.85 per hour which is higher than the average of $1.15 per hour. By following the instructions given, he managed to load 47 tons a day instead of the average of 12 and a half tons (Miller Form 1964). This signifies that by following instructions, the efficiency of a worker will increase as long as they are rewarded highly. Using the economic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Feminism In Sesame Street Sesame Workshop s decision to incorporate a transgender Muppet on the show mirrors the gradual changes that have progressively taken place within the framework of feminism. The Eastern Kentucky University Women and Gender Studies Program defined the evolution of feminism as: Historically, feminism has evolved from the critical examination of inequality between the sexes with a more nuanced focus on the social and performative constructions of gender and sexuality (2017). In other words, the feminist establishment has transformed along with time to reflect the changes in society. Which perfectly makes sense! In order, for progress to occur, you must move along with the times, and Sesame Streethas done that. Thus, the show will continue to positively influence hundreds of American youth because they know that social evolution is the key to success! Similarly, Sesame Street touches on the complexities surrounding race. Segi is a black, female Muppet who made her debut in Season 42. This progression can be viewed as positive as it was a racially diversifying move. However, the character was not given a name until Season 45 (Muppet Wiki 2017). Therefore, I find the addition of the character to be an important aspect supporting racial equality, but the fact that she remained unnamed for three seasons seems to be rather counterproductive. Eventually, Sesame Workshopnamed Segi after Joey Mazzarino s adopted daughter, for whom Mazzarino wrote: I Love My Hair (Muppet Wiki 2017). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Summary Of The Crying Of Lot 49 The mid and late 20th century is marked by the cultural movement known as postmodernism, which redefined philosophy and literature. Postmodernism challenged the established modernist style of literature by deconstructing the notion of an objective reality and championing satire, skepticism, and paranoia. The notion of self determination and one s ability to control their own life is largely dependent on their ability to actualize their identity: to find meaning in their life. But, any postmodernist would be skeptical of the idea that one can ever actually find true meaning in a society filled with superficial and meaningless ideals. One of the preeminent works of postmodern literature, The Crying of Lot 49, attempts to explore and critique this notion of self determination as it relates to popular culture and society. Oedipa Maas, a suburban housewife, finds her life unraveling before her as she discovers a world conspiracy by the underground organization The Trystero to dominate the mail carrier industry. As Oedipa finds herself more and more isolated, she tries to find self validation and meaning in her life. In The Crying of Lot 49, Thomas Pynchon critiques the notion of self determination by asserting that to truly find meaning in life ones must reject mainstream society. Through the use of satire and the instability of his characters, Pynchon asserts the idea life is desiccated within the confines of a superficial consumerist society. In The Crying of Lot 49, the ... In developing countries vaccination programs are believed to be the cornerstones of primary health care services. There are also certain limitation or risks to having vaccinations and its side effects varies in different individuals. For instance, few people may endure from a mild reaction to a certain vaccine and definitely it is short lived. It is far better to be safe than sorry. The hazards of having serious infections or diseases that can be fatal is way greater than taking a chance of experiencing a serious consequence. Using a vaccine is much cheaper compared to treating a serious illness. The most severe allergic reaction following an administration of a vaccine is called an anaphylactic reaction. What Was The Immediate Legacy Of The Jay Spring Legacy: The immediate legacy of the Prague Spring was the dissident movement , lead by groups of mostly writers and intellectuals, which focused on overthrowing the government entirely. On January 16th, 1969, a student named Jan Palach set himself on fire in Prague to protest the censorship of free speech (Stoneman). In the weeks following his death, about half a million people lost their jobs and the Communist party purged half a million members while others resigned (BBC). Dissidents blamed the Soviets for his death and they became more motivated to create political change, so they published the Charter 77 Declaration , a charter for human rights made in 1977 (Stoneman, BBC). Salinger was an American novelist who is widely known for writing Catcher in the Rye. I know of a quote from him, which I really think is inspiring. An artist s only concern is to shoot for some kind of perfection, and on his own terms, not anyone else s. This says a lot about his writing, because it certainly isn t like anyone else s! As an artist, his author s craft was perfect according to his guidelines, so he didn t need to be compared to other writers. J.D. The doctrine of double effect if often invoked to explain the permissibility of an action that causes a serious harm, such as the death of a human being, as a side effect of promoting good ends. It is claimed that sometimes it is permissible to cause such harm as a side effect of bringing about a good result even though it would not be permissible to cause such harm as a means to bringing about the same good end. The first bilateral symmetry was described in flatworms, the nervous system on one side is almost identical to the other side, the human nervous system is arranged the same way. • 24. Pros And Cons Of Offshore Drilling In today s world, oil plays a very important role in our everyday lives. It is used daily for various things which includes: transportation, electricity, heat etc. Most of the oils we use either came from underground drilling or came from other countries. But because of the decrease of supply in oil, people started to look for alternative ways to find oil. Offshore drilling became the new way of oil drilling. It is an oil extraction technique that extracts oil from the sea bed. There are both pros and cons to offshore drilling. In my opinion, the cons outweighs the pros. One of the most obvious pro of offshore drilling is that it greatly increases the amount of oil we use for fuel and energy, which in terms helps out our economy. It also allows us to not rely on other countries to supply the oil. This can help us reduce the oil price because if the oil is produced in our own country, other countries don t have a say on the oil price. The field of psychology searches for the answer within us, that is to say, they examine the internal forces that make us do what we do. However, sociology searches for the answer in terms of external forces. Sociologysets out to prove that human behavior is controlled by forces of social interaction, while in turn the behaviors of humans control the forces of social interaction in a cycle that controls many aspects of life. The way in which people behave and conduct their lives can be based on a plethora of factors such as social stratification. Through social stratification people are grouped into social layers based on their property, power, and prestige (Henslin). Social locations also play an important role in human behavior. Social class divides people based on income, education, and occupation (Henslin). Social statuses allow division and labeling based upon different positions that someone occupies. For example, a man is the CEO of a corporation, therefore one of his statuses is CEO, which may cause others to treat him differently because of his status. Not only does his status influence the people s behavior around him, it also influences his own behavior as a result of how he is treated. The topic has seen a major shift in how consumers are using the multichannel environment to purchase more and more than ever before (Jones, 2013). The retail environment has evolved with this consumer shift, in becoming more dynamic towards the customer s needs and creating a more customised channel (Whitler, 2016). A personal interest comes towards this topic from my involvement in retail over the past five years, experiencing this retail evolvement first hand. Literature Review The developed definition of the use of multichannel in the retail market has been branded towards the opening of multiple channels to communicate towards the customer (Zhang et al., 2010). The importance of multichannel selling strategies has significantly grown with the rise of new business channels emerging into the market (StojkoviД‡ et al., 2016). In view of this growth, a dominant approach of retailers combining classical (store) channels and electronic (website) channels has shown extensive successes for most of the world s leading retailers (StojkoviД‡ et al., 2016). The Cold War developed between the Soviet Union and the United States in response to post World War II tensions between the two nations. The U.S. and the U.S.S.R. emerged from World War II as the only two countries able to propagate their specific social and political systems on a global scale. With expansive capitalist (United States) or communist (USSR) ideologies and powerful military forces, each nation feared and distrusted the other. This cultural clash resulted in mutual suspicions, propaganda campaigns, media battles, and international incidents that brought these two superpowers to the brink of nuclear devastation. No direct military conflict between the two nations ever ensued; however, the constant threat of nuclear proliferation held the world s concentrated attention on the two superpowers from 1945 to 1991. Coding theory, sometimes called logarithmic coding hypothesis, manages the configuration of lapse remedying codes for the dependable transmission of data crosswise over uproarious channels. Error coding is utilized as a part of numerous advanced provisions like workstation memory, attractive and optical information stockpiling media. The investigation of mistake rectifying codes and the cohorted arithmetic is known as coding hypothesis. In information theory, the amount of positions at which the relating images are distinctive between two strings is Hamming distance. Hamming code is a set of error correction codes that might be utilized to recognize and right bit errors that can happen when machine information is moved or put away. There is lot of examples of coding theory; one of the biggest examples of its use is in communication field, i e modulation, encryption and decryption of signal. This statement brings the idea of slavery away from the racist views which are clearly present in characters like Dr. Finch and Grady O Hanlon. Although the validity of this statement is questionable, the impact slaveryhad on society in this country is clear. Slavery impacted many aspects of society, including the people of Maycomb, the views of the Southern/Northern states, and racial tension in today s society. The statement made by Dr. Finch was, in fact, inaccurate. When you look at the results of the 1860 census, you see that the overall percent of families owning slaves is only 8% in the United States as a whole(CivilWar.net). However, in his statement from the book, he specifically said not much more than 5% of the South ever saw a slave, much less owned one. The keywords in this statement were South and Saw . Both of these words can be disproved by the 1860 census. If you were to look at the different states separately, you would see that almost all southern states were at or above 25% when looking at families who own slaves. This proves that much more than 5% of the south owned slaves. However, if you were to look at the data as a whole, you would be mislead by thinking this 8% was a representation of the south. As the postsynaptic cells on the muscle cell membrane receive the acetylcholine, the channels for the cations sodium and potassium are opened. These cations produce a net depolarization of the cell membrane and this electrical signal travels along the muscle fibers. Through the movement of calcium ions, the muscle action potential is taken into actual muscle contraction with the interaction of two types of proteins, actin and myosin. They contain many nuclei and are subdivided into smaller structures called myofibrils. Myofibrils are composed of 2 kinds of myofilaments. The thin filaments are made of 2 strands of the protein actin and one strand of a regulatory protein coiled together. The thick filaments are staggered arrays of myosin molecules. * Units of organization of skeletal muscle. The filaments are organized into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Analysis Of The Tuesday Wars By S. D. Hollings Some books are so different even though they are in the same time period. The authors of these book, S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders, and Gary D. Schmidt, The Wednesday Wars, did a great job at making these books. The main characters, Ponyboy and Holling, are well thought out. The Outsiders is a book about a boy who is a gang and have lost his parents. The gang is a part of the Greasers, the poor kids, who are always attacked by the Socs., the rich kids. One day Ponyboy and Johnny are attacked and Johnny kills one. They run away where they save kids from a burning church. They get burns and are rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile Ponyboy and Greasers are having a rumble with the Socs. After the rumble Johnny dies in the hospital and Dally is killed by police because he wanted to die. The Wednesday Wars is about a 7th grader who thinks his teacher hates him. He doesn t have parents who care about him and sister thinks he has no guts. He learns that Mrs. Baker is actually nice when she helps him practice for events such as the play and track meet. His dad however is only thinking about business and not about his kids. Holling eventually stands up to him. The characters have plenty of differences between them from their parents, to the personality, but they have the same kinds of friends. Ponyboy and Hollings parents are completely different. In The Outsiders, Ponyboy says to Randy that his parents were really nice but they died in a car accident. My parents are dead. I live here with just Darry and Soda, my brothers (Hinton, 140) He had good parents but they died and now he has Darry as a parent making sure he does well in school and about his health too. My father wasn t there. I guess the Bing Crosby Christmas Special wasn t over yet. ... I decided I would wait for my father for five minutes. So I counted three hundred Mississippi s. No car. (Schmidt, 59) Holling was waiting for his dad to come pick him up to drive him to the Sports Emporium. But his father wasn t there. Even if his father didn t come his mother should of came to pick him up, but she didn t. Ponyboy s parents were nice, but died in a car accident and Holling s dad and mom cares more about the business and T.V show than their kids. There are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the chemical make up of COCL2 at room temperature phosgene will evaporate and give off vapors concentrated enough to cause respiratory damage, used widely in the Great War and also in World War II. In the Great War phosgene had accounted for over half of the deaths caused by chemical warfare. This material in the military is widely known as CG but now in modern days this material is used generally to make plastics and pesticides. Phosgene is a toxic gas and can be lethal in concentrated amounts the Department of Transportation requires that during transportation it is to be stored in a DOT 106 ton container on the railway as well as on cargo trucks in order to mitigate the possibility of a catastrophic leak in an ... • 45. Positive Impact Of Afforestation Essay Science Impact of Afforestation Introduction: What is Deforestation? Deforestation is the process of human cutting down trees and destroying the habitats of animals and lives. People would certainly think that deforestation would not be something good for the environment, and afforestation would cause a positive impact on the environment. Well, most people have his perspective like that. The scientist had found proofs that afforestation has the negative impact on the habitats of animals and the whole environment. But how this kind of activity would harm people and animals? Environment: How do people and animals live? Well, they would need to depend on some biotic and abiotic factors. Water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen etc. One of them is Oxygen, oxygen is one of the factors that would have a big impact on human and animals. No oxygen, no us. Afforestation is one of the ways to maintain oxygen from all those environmental problems we are right now facing on this planet. Plants are producers, they use sunlight and carbon to do a process called photosynthesis. When plants do this photosynthesis, they produce oxygen out. Trees are one of the producers that use photosynthesis and brings oxygen to us. This is one of the benefits from afforestation, but does this proofs that afforestation does more things that got positive impact? During this couple of century, people had been giving the goal of afforestation. Although people still had achieved some bits of the goal, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Kierkegaard And Communism On first and second glance, it may appear impossible to draw any concrete connection between the philosophy of SГёren Kierkegaard, a seventeenth century Danish Philosopher who worked heavily on existential themes, faith, and Christianity, and the Soviet Union. On one hand, Kierkegaard himself lived his life almost solely in Denmark, rarely leaving his own hometown, so his experience of the World outside of Denmark was extremely limited and focused on his world, especially the world of the Danish National Church. On the other hand, the Soviet Union embraced Communism, and with it its atheistic stances on social and political implications of religion and religious institutions, the Soviet ideology would appear to stand in opposition to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to attempt this sort of analysis, there are a number of factors that must be addressed first, with the most crucial being the understanding of Kierkegaard, his relevant works, and his Philosophy. SГёren Aabye Kierkegaard was born in 1813 in Copenhagen to Ane SГёrensdatter Lund Kierkegaard and Michael Pedersen Kierkegaard, the latter a pastor of the Danish National Church. According to Daniel Conway, a professor of Philosophy and the Humanities at Texas A M, although influential today for his diverse contributions to the fields of philosophy, theology, rhetoric, literary theory, and depth philosophy, Kierkegaard was widely known in his own day as a provocative social critic (Conway 2015, 1). He was highly critical of the church in his hometown, and the Danish National Church in general, in addition to Christianity and what it meant for one to have faith in the almighty. Thus, much of Kierkegaard s work deals with faith and Christianity to some extent, as seen with Fear and Trembling, the work that will be most heavily sourced within this thesis. Kierkegaard s Fear and Trembling was written and published in 1843 under the pseudonym Johannes de Silentio. Kierkegaard often wrote and published his works under different pseudonyms, each often having some sort of significance to the work in which it is situated. The significance of the pseudonym of Fear and Trembling, according to the author of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Consider The Lobster, By David Foster Wallace In today s era, people are growing more and more conscious of animal rights and the humane treatment of them. People tend to think of the usual cows, pigs, sheeps, etc., when they think of the fair treatment of animals, often overlooking that of crustaceans such as lobsters and crabs. Thousands of lobster are fished or farmed for the enjoyment of a rare, tasty dinner. David Foster Wallacepresents his readers in his piece, Consider the Lobster, with the argument that animal sufferingis a complicated and uncomfortable matter. As humans, we are not able to feel what other animals feel, but the most we can know about it comes from research and analysis. While some behaviorist philosophers and other researchers claim lobsters do not feel... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is not appropriate to play with the life of another living thing in ____ of a guessing game. And so, this is where the big debate of whether boiling lobsters is right comes in. Lobsters and crabs are both crustaceans with relatively related genetic and anatomical makeup. While there is no in depth trial or experiment on lobsters assessing a type of pain stimuli, there is a study performed on crabs, which could be useful in attempting to understand lobsters as well. Robert Elwood, an animal behavior researcher, focused on avoidance learning to get a better sense of whether or not crustaceans could perceive pain. He set up some crabs with two habitats to choose from: one which gave a shock when entered, and the other which did not. After he ran the trial through multiple times, the crabs were more likely to select the non shocking environment to go after (Elwood). In nature, animals adapt in order to try and minimize damage to their body. Pain is a sudden and efficient method to recognize that a certain condition is causing harm to the body. It can be inferred that the crabs felt pain because they changed their long term memory of which shelter to choose in order to avoid being shocked. This proves that the crabs have the understanding to identify between a pleasant and unpleasant stimulus. If crabs have the capability of doing so, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
