Working Title:
Flash Dash
Audience:
My Audience is mainly aimed at people over the age of nine (9+). This is a gender-neutral game,
there are no specific genders this is aimed at. The person’s social status does not matter when
they play this game. I think that my audience would enjoy this game no matter what they are into, it
does not matter what their traits are. For example, if they are competitive, they will enjoy this
game. If they are creative, they will like this game as I will include customisation tools into my
game. It does not matter, at that matters are that they like playing the game.
I think that my product will appeal to my audience because they might like video game. They might
what to have fun. They might like it as the design of the game will appeal to them (animals and
nature). They could be in love with the outdoors and want to play a video game with nature. This
game is for all of these people and more.
In my opinion, the age of my audience is for anyone over the age of nine (9+). This may be
because of the development of a child’s brain. A child starts to become more competitive between
the ages of nine to twelve. This is why I have set this age requirement. This is also why the game
may look childish, with its animated animals. Also, this is why I want this game to make my game
gender-neutral so anyone can play. All that matters are that my audience has fun with the product.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
From the start of this college year, I have acquired a variety of skills in Adobe Photoshop, Premier
Pro and other documents. In Photoshop, I have learned various subjects, such as how to use the
timeline, how to set up an animation document, how to set up the tools to help you animate, how to
create a long background so that the layer on top looks like it is moving and finally, how to animate
objects (shapes) to make them move around the page. From my music video project, I have learnt
how to work a Premier Pro document. All of these skills will be useful to me.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project is a nature inspired racing game. Bring out your inner competitive by racing up to seven
other players to be the first to the finish line. You will race though the (four) grand prix(s) that I will
include in the map selection menu. I will include a start menu and 3 selection menus (easy-hard
menu, character menu and the map selection menu) as much inspired by my researched game
‘Mario Kart 64’. It will be looked on by the player from a top view perspective as the two
researched games ‘Monaco GP’ and ‘Grand Theft Auto’ did. I will include jungle themed items as
power ups, so that the player can use these to their advantage. I will include characters that are
animals such as, the elephant, lion, chimpanzee, koala, dog, cat, cheetah and the zebra. I will
include bronze, silver and gold cups to win in the multiple grand prix. This depends on the place
that the player comes in, each race.
The background tracks will be made on Garage Band, as I am more comfortable making a track in
this software. The sound effects, I will make these on Beep Box. These are for sound effects such
as button pressing, skidding and engines. I will also include character voices, that I will record
before I put the whole project together.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to evaluate my work with a tough mind-set and honest opinion. As I have done before this, I
want to think openly about my work, see the good things and improvements in my work. I will learn
from my mistakes, If I end up making a similar project in the future I will not make those mistakes
again.
