Working Title:
The runaway man
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
The age status I’ll be aiming myproduct at is between the ages of8-14 as it’s the rightage category with the
pixels being simple. As well as the fact that there’s notgoing to be not going to be any gore or jumpscares.
So, it’s a game that would be suitable for their age. This game will be aimed towards men as it’s a man that
you are playing as the main character and the main objective is to save the woman. It will be aimed at all
members ofsocial status butmostlylower class because it’s for people who enjoythe more simpler things
like 2D pixelated games. When It comes to psychographics its aimed atpeople who are in the belonger.Th is
is the right place to place them as its for people who are happy with the similar things in which they can
admire such as pixel game. This is aimed attype A people as it’s people who wantto make a difference to
the world in a non-dramatic way. They want to bring back the simple games such as Pong and Pac-man as
they different with it being aimed ata different generation ofaudience. That’s they think it’s importantto make
it as interesting as possible because it’s such a simple concept.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to content
(why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the gender?
Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
What I see myselfmore in when it comes to a career Is Photoshop.Ifind more enjoymentwhen it comes to
making posters.ButI’m hoping that my artistic skills will come into playwhen I come to the design ofmy
game I want to express my artistic skills ofcreating the characters and the maps thatare needed for it. There
are manyskills thatI will gain whilstdoing this projectsuch as doing the animation when itcomes to
Photoshop. My print rotation I thought was notthat useful because even though I was interested in I didn’t
benefitby gaining any further skills thatwould be required for it.
Review your progress throughout the year- what video game and Photoshop skills and knowledge
have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The main conceptthat I have when it comes to making mygame is to have it as an adventure forerunner
game. It’s going to be similar to temple run and unfair Mario in the case that some ofthe traps are invisible
and then they appear out of nowhere which is really annoying. The main character Chuck has to get to the
other side ofside to save Annie. The character mustcollectcertain pieces thatare in the map in order to let
Annie out. The concept of this game is going to be set in a different world, with there being various colours
that will appear for the surroundings. The background will be a jungle but the main location surroundings will
be similar to the temple run map. There will be a creature that chase you throughout the majority of the game
which will be called the chaser. Most of the traps consistofvarious lasers and spikes. There will also be a
selection ofcolourful birds in the sky that will drop various bombs atsome points which you have to avoid. I
will have to research mydesign a little more thinking more about the layout of the location as I already have a
good idea of what mostof my characters will look like.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What researchwill you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
My work will be evaluated by seeing the design thathas been created and thinking through the colour
schemes ofvarious things thatI have picked.Seeing that the colour I used for some props was the right
colour and if it works with the other colours that’s are surroundings.I will also concentrate on sizing.Wanting
the man to be smaller than mostofthe props that are around him.Chuck has to collectthese pieces in order
to let Annie out of where she is trapped. So, they need to stand very well.
How do you plan to evaluate the work?Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your study/media
career?
