Development Of A Service Innovation
Introduction:
The aim of the report is to discuss the development of a service innovation in a hospital care setting.
Therefore the innovation being introduced in the report will focus on the pain management tool for
assessing chronic conditions in service users with dementia in hospital settings. As pain is a very
subjective experience it is important that the tool is specifically based on the individual s own way of
expressing and communicating their pain in relation to their chronic conditions.
The first section of this report will review and evaluate a body of evidence to support the development
of the pain management tool by looking at the subject of the change management proposal, the
relevant stake holders and the change agent to support the change. Secondly the report will focus on
theories and strategies to management of change by using change management model and explaining
the process of it. Thirdly the issues and experience of being a team member in the development of the
service improvement proposal will be reflected and also explore the dynamics of the team. Lastly for
the transition from student nurse to registered nurse, based on the findings from the evaluation of
personal performance further development will be discussed identifying the leadership skills needed
and design an action plan which includes outcomes and how these outcomes will be measured.
The aim of the change is to:
Identify and recognise pain for dementia patients with chronic

Final Exam Course Number: AVM 3302 Course Title: Multimodal Transportation AVM 3302 Student
name: Sairane P. Souza Location: Florida Institute of Technology Lake Nona Campus 1. How does
fuel cost and efficiency affect both air carrier costs and pricing? The market index in fuel prices is a
challenge for carriers in terms of their costs and profits. Especially, in the air carrier, the airline s uses
high prices for the major quantity of volume in fuel. 2. The economic and market position of the
pipelines has been described as mature and stable with little likelihood of significant growth in the
near future. Do you agree? Why or why not? The beginning we need to understand who are the major
interesting to build the pipeline and who own it. The major oil companies are the owner of the
pipelines. Consequently, they have a high desired to build pipelines. Since that, it is logical that for the
shipper owned oil pipelines is originally based upon market control. Besides, all the bias and frenetic
owners to rush to build pipelines across the country. My major concerned is safety. Can the extension
of pipelines ACROSS ALL COUNTRY be guaranteed to have a high index of safety against terrorism,
weather catastrophe with no link to soil/wildlife and communities/residents? If any catastrophe and/or
terrorism happens who will pay for the permanent life damage? Please, provide me first with those
answers. Otherwise, I still not agree because I am very concerned about the safety that

Essay On Rolls Royce
From the understanding of The Hayes and Wheelwright model of operations contribution (Slack,
Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015, p. 44) we can conclude that during the period of 1960
Rolls Royce fell into the Internal Neutrality Stage (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015)
where their operations process was considered to be at the poorest stage as they did not contribute to
any competition what so ever and their operation process did not fetch them any profits. Moreover at
this stage, there is a serious lack of Product Innovation and Process Efficiency Management where the
operations of the firm are not even considered as the source of revenue (Slack, Brandon Jones,
Johnston, Betts, July 2015).We can confirm this from the case study where it was mentioned that Rolls

They also had huge technological failure during this period and they almost filed for bankruptcy and
were nationalised in 1971 (high flier, 2009). However, over the next few decades, Rolls Royce

reached the final stage, Externally Supportive from the Hayes and Wheelwright model of operations
contribution (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) where they have displayed radical
characteristics of Product, Technological and Service Innovation, Adapting to the changes in the
market, embracing globalisation, Increasing efficiency in cost, operation process and services (Slack,
Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) which became the heart of the organisation and obviously
their revenue increased by almost 60 percent by 2006 (high flier, 2009). This proves that Rolls Royce

7 New Approaches and Education for the Success of Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems
There is a common thinking in the academia and professional arenas that the solution to the untreated
wastewater discharges into our water bodies can be prevented or mitigated mainly with the
construction of wastewater sewer collection systems and wastewater treatment plants. Part of the
purpose of this research is to revisit and analyze the benefits of using decentralized wastewater
treatment technologies and evaluate the latest wastewater treatment technologies available.
7.1 Overview of Centralized Wastewater Treatment Systems Infrastructure
It is also of common knowledge that our nation s wastewater treatment infrastructure is widely
recognized to be in serious overhaul, if not outright replacement. (Crawford 2011). Also it is known
that wastewater management does not figure among the environmental legal and regulatory matters
that command public attention, despite the direct human and environmental health impacts of
wastewater infrastructure failures, to say nothing of the unsavory nature of ruptured sewage lines and
massive sewage spills, with their attendant harms for both land and water pollution (Crawford 2011).
This is due to a lack of knowledge and education to the public concerning this serious threat. A serious
national wastewater treatment crisis is imminent. The need to address our wastewater infrastructure
deficiencies is urgent and not only for the centralized

Stewardship Research Paper
Merriam Webster dictionary states that stewardship is; the conducting, supervising, or managing of
something; especially: the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one s care.
The temporal and spiritual stewardship, we all face is no different from the littlest toddler or the oldest
man or woman. Heavenly Father has spent the time to create the world and left it to our care. Our
responsibility to this earth, and to our Heavenly father is to protect and better what we are given, that
includes the earth. There is a parable in the book of Matthew twenty fifth chapter, Christ gives talents
to three servants, each servant and each is given a different amount, Christ doesn t give them any

Immature Wuthering Heights
In Wuthering Heights, both Edgar and Nelly have interesting views on Catherine. It s funny how they
both have negative perspectives on her, but each have total differences. One person sees her as totally
immature. The other sees her not using her full potential. However, the two see Catherine in different
angles opposed to how they interacted, and how the had time to think on their own experiences. In
Nelly s point of view I can to relate to what she sees. She sees Catherine as a big baby. I agree with
her completely. Catherine just throws temper tantrums just to get her way. It shows every time she is
displeased. Also, its just as the prompt says, she does it to get her own way. It s shown how she gives
no care about herself, or others when she doesn t get what she wants. ... Show more content on

use her intellect as well as her emotions to prove her point, but her emotional displays alarm

French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman
Europe will not be made all at once, or according to a single plan. It will be built through concrete
achievements which... create a de facto solidarity.
Schuman plan was a proposal by French foreign minister Robert Schuman on May 9, 1950. It was for
the single authority to be able to control the production of steel and coal in France and West Germany.
The plain laid foundations for the 1958 establishment of the European Economic Community after the
proposal were realized in the European Coal and Steel Community. The Schuman Declaration of May
1950 was a legal proposal to create a new form of organization of states in Europe called
supranational community. After the Second World War, a conflict that had nearly destroyed the

Based on the Schuman plan, six countries sign a treaty to run their heavy businesses which are coal
and steel under a common management. This way none of the countries on its own can make weapons
of war to use against each other. The six are Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and
Luxembourg. The European Union is a union of 28 members stated that are located in Europe. It
operates through a system of institutions by the member states. The institutions are: the European
Commission, the Council of the European Union, the European Council, the Court of Justice of the
European Union, the European Central Bank, the Court of Auditors, and the European Parliament. The
European Parliament is elected every five years by EU citizens.
The Maastricht Treaty, which is formally known as the treaty on European Union represented a major
step towards European economic, political and social integration. The main condition of the treaty was
the immediate creation of the European Union and by the late 1990s the establishment of the
Economic and Monetary Union. The Maastricht Treaty is a part of an evolutionary economic process
that began in Europe following the destruction of World War II. Many of the European leaders came to
the conclusion that if social and political stability and economic growth was to be realized there

Amylase Lab Report
The results in Figure 1, supported both the hypothesis as well as the predictions because the graph
depicts how the differences in temperature changed the enzyme activity of amylase. The results
concluded that as temperature deviates from optimal temperature amylase will hydrolyze starch at a
lower rate. At 5 and 70 degrees Celsius amylase took longer to hydrolyze starch compared to 25 and
40 degrees Celsius. The results also supported the prediction that at 40 degrees Celsius, enzymes will
break down starch at a faster rate than at 5 degrees Celsius, 25 degrees Celsius, or 70 degrees Celsius.
The results showed 40 degrees Celsius as the optimum temperature for the hydrolysis of starch
because 40 degrees Celsius is close to the body s temperature. Amylase denatures at 70 to 80 degrees
Celsius which causes the enzyme to become damaged and can no longer hydrolyze the starch. The
results of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Living organisms are dependent on the use of enzymes to speed up biochemical reactions. Enzymes
will catalyze one specific chemical reaction since they have a unique three dimensional shape that
allows one substrate to bind to the active site. The enzyme Amylase is found in human saliva that
speed up the hydrolysis of starch into smaller carbohydrate molecules. When humans are sleep
deprived there is an increase in amylase and this study done by Räikkönen shows that short sleep
duration in both children and adults correlates to an increase in amylase. Compared to girls, boys were
found to have a lower efficiency and shorter duration of sleep compared to girls. This study offers
insight on how poor sleep is associated with poor health because children and adults with high levels
of the enzyme amylase also have an increase in stress. . Further testing could lead to a better
understanding of how sleep wake cycles and their genetic makeup affects the enzyme amylase
production. (Räikkönen et al.,

Amistad Case
Introduction This paper will show that the importance of the Amistad case, while not only important to
the individual members of the original 53 enslaved men, was also important when it came to the world
view of a newly formed government and a country that had recently gained its own freedom from
oppression. T will show that the basic laws set forth by our Declaration were keystone not only in this
case, but in the foundation of our most basic of rules that so many had fought and died for to win and
maintain. Our right to be free. Fifty three slaves were abducted and shackled, headed from Eastern
Africa in 1839 to a destination of Havana, Cuba. At port in Havana, the 53 Africans were deemed

To make a valid claim of salvage, a claimant must prove: the event involved a ship and its cargo, or
things committed to and lost at sea or other public, navigable waterways; the ship or its cargo have
been found or rescued; the service performed by claimant must have been of benefit to the property
involved in the rescue. A salvor (one who salvages) must have the intent and capacity of committing a
salvage, but does not need have the intention of keeping the property. The salvor need not have even
given physical assistance to the rescue of the ship or property. (Random House Dictionary, 2014) The
most common cases of salvage involve ships that are in danger of sinking or ones that have been
abandoned. The Amistad claimants argued that the death and murder of the crew could also fall under
the category of a salvage, and therefore gives them rights to the ship and cargo under those laws.
(SafeSea, 2014) This was the most crucial point of the argument in the case of the Amistad. Was the
salvaged property of the ship up for consideration under the salvage laws, and were the 53 captured
slaves, part of that

American Exceptionalism Research Paper
The topic of American Exceptionalism is a very contentious one. Over the past several years, news
pundits have brought up the subject repeatedly and some on both the right and the left frequently use it
as a litmus test for ideological purity. Generally speaking, there are two lines of thought that dominate
the discussion of this topic.
One line of thought holds that American Exceptionalism is very real and has had a profound impact on
the United States. There are two related threads involved in this argument. First is the idea that
because the United States was created as, what one might call, the first new nation, emerging out of an
explosive revolutionary event that severed all connections between America and Europe. Under these
circumstances,

Symbolism In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven
Sherman Alexie s book The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven was written using a multitude
of literary devices to explain what it is like to be a native American. The novel Alexie has written is a
combination of vignettes to show the life of Native American people through symbolism and other
literary devices. In the vignette The Fun House Alexie uses various symbols to present and describe
things in this vignette. It is in this vignette where Alexie brings the creek into the book. Alexie uses the
Tshimakain creek as a symbol to express that you need to look within yourself to find the strength to
change.
The creek in a sense is the symbol for change itself. Alexie uses the character of the aunt, Nezzy, to
reveal how bad her life is on the reservation. Her husband is a drunk and has gotten into reoccurring
car accidents, as indicated on page 79, where am I The hospital Again? Yeah, again . After she gave
birth to her son, had her tubes tied unwillingly by the doctors, to prevent her from having any more
kids. They lied to her to get her to agree to have her tubes tied. They told her it was to prove she was
Indian, but in reality, it was a dishonest trick. Alexie shows that Nezzy s husband and son are very
demanding, for she says, you re just a couple of ungrateful shits (Alexie 77). They take advantage of
her. They just let her do everything and don t think that they need to do anything to help her. Her
husband and son also don t help her. She asks on page 77 why the son didn t help her, and the son
couldn t stop laughing. This is the point Nezzy realizes that she needs change. The creek represents
change. It represents the washing away of the bad stuff and carrying it far away. Creeks never rest and
they never stop changing. Creeks and rivers change the scenery and the landscape around them, they
do the likewise for people, washing away the weights and the corrupt things of people to create
something new.
Nezzy is ready for change, so she looks to herself to find the strength to do so. In one occurrence, she
is merely lying in the creek. She floated on the water like that for hours, until her skin wrinkled and
her ears filled with water. She kept her eyes closed and could barely hear when

The Decline Of Reading In The US
People today have lost interest in reading. Otis Kramer says in The Decline of Reading in the U.S.
Damages Our Intellectual Life, For the first time in modern history, less than half of the adult
population now reads literature. When children are not taught to enjoy reading they carry that through
life which causes problems that are hard to fix later in life. There is a loss of interest in reading
because of schools, parents and technology. This can cause problems with intellect and mental states.
Parents can solve this, if they teach their children to enjoy reading early on. The lack of interest in
reading is due to many things, but tends to begin with young children. Schools and parents do not
encourage their children to read for fun (Charleston). Parents do so because they were not taught to
enjoy reading, or they do not have time. Schools, on the other hand, create an environment where
reading becomes more of a chore than a fun activity (Denby). Schools do try to teach kids to enjoy
reading, teachers will set times or page numbers for their students to read. A study on this method has
shown that when told to only read a set amount of time or pages, children will only read the amount
required by the teachers. The things that children read are normally not something they chose. This
decision creates a hatred for reading in children, even if they loved to read before. In many case, such
as assignments make the students hate the book they have just read, no matter how

The story, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived, takes place in two different settings. The first (The
flashbacks) setting we get introduced to is the childhood neighborhood of Sarah and her older brother
Terry. We hear about them and their friends, and how they used to play together in the game of playing
the Tudors (old English royal family). The flashbacks are between the years 1973 and 1974. The
second setting is taking place in the present time, in the home of Sarah, with Sarah as the main
character. She has a family with her husband Lyle and together they have 2 children, Coco and Mark.

The first word, divorced, can be used to illustrate how she and her brother takes distance from each
other, when Sarah learns about her brothers illness. The second word, beheaded, can be used to
illustrate the death of Terry. Not only does Sarah lose him but the other children too. They are
avoiding Sarah. And at last the word survived, can be used to show the Sarah survives. The title
becomes a symbol on that even if someone close to us dies, we have to keep on with our lives and not
let it be a burden for the rest of our lives. Even though that it how Sarah s is living her life.
In the story Sarah has a huge burden. She keeps the death of her brother a secret to protect the
childlike innocence of her children. But her attempt on hiding it is in vain, because Coco and Mark
already know about Uncle Terry. But it s not just to protect her children it s also about protecting
herself because the death of Terry still effect her. Maybe that s why that Mark reacts the same way as
her mother when Peter died. I can conclude from this story that the only way to get over the loss of a
loved one is through talking with another person.

Pressure to Succeed Mentality in American Sports Essay
The Pressure to Succeed The Issue Show me a good loser and I ll show you a loser, Vince Lombardi
once said. This saying could be the unsung anthem of American sports for children and teenagers.
Everyone loves to win. In sports there is always competition. Is there too much emphasis on the win
for kids and teens? This issue is important because it essentially develops the way children and
teenagers think and react; it will affect them later on in life. Too much emphasis on winning is a
problem because there is extensive pressure from parents and coaches, and the consequences can be
severe. Some people, such as Vince Lombardi, argue that the win is all there is. They say it motivates

Winning gives you an incomparable feeling of joy and accomplishment; it is one of the best feelings
in the world (Winning Isn t Everything, It s the Only Thing). Winning does build confidence
especially when that winning represents a true accomplishment; (i.e., I ve beaten a worthy opponent),
says David A. Feigley (The Role of Winning in Youth Sports).
Pressure from parents In the early years of a child s life, almost every child is associated with some
type of organized sport. The main reason that kids grow into teenagers that have difficulty accepting
defeat begins at home. Parents are constantly pressuring their kids to do better, leading them to believe
that whatever they do will not suffice. Sports writer Wesley Remmer tells us in his article, Mickey
Mantle confessed on the Dick Cavett Show that he wet the bed up to the age of 16, stemming from the
pressure he felt from his father to become an élite player. Those close to Mantle suggested his father s
overbearing personality led to emotional problems and alcoholism later in Mantle s life. All most little
kids want to do is play a simple game, but five minutes into the game there is often a parent already
coming to the official screaming about whether the six year old was really struck out or not. There is a

True Identity In King Henry IV By William Shakespeare
Usually most of us have an appearance that lies behind another appearance but as we go through life
we either get tired from hiding it or learn that we should always show our true self no matter the
situation we re in. when we don t show our true self, its either because we are afraid of what people
will think of us or change our true it to please others. Shakespeare demonstrate the character s
appearance as two different books combined in one. Shakespeare keep playing constantly with the

He kept playing the role of innocent, strong and royal but in real he is weak, dishonorable, guilty and

appearances play a crucial role in the Battle of Shrewsbury as King Henry s side dresses up numerous
soldiers in the king s robes to deceive their opponents. Douglas cannot even discern who the real King
Henry is and thinks that he s killed the king when he s actually slain Sir Walter Blunt. The king was in
charge for the death of many real innocent people. The end of the king was to die in guilt for his entire
life. Again Shakespeare shows how the end of someone who try to hide his true self will look

Summary Of The Song Lane Boy By Here Tyler
The song is generally about selling records and keeping your integrity as an artist. And as an artist
who constantly has to promote and to some extent sell yourself in the music business it s hard to keep
that integrity and originality. The lead singer, Tyler, who has also written the lyrics tries to get his
message out by just writing songs that he likes, even though people advise him not to. That can be
seen especially in line 1 2. They say stay in your lane boy, lane boy Here Tyler describes how the

The Entrapment Model Of An Abusive Relationship
ENTRAPMENT MODEL The entrapment model suggests that staying in an abusive relationship is a
way to justify past effort and time devoted to the relationship (Strube, 1988). The investment model
challenges that the more time, effort, money, emotion, etc. invested into a relationship the longer one
devotes to staying in the relationship even when intimate partner violence is frequent. The hypotheses
were that women more subjectively invested in baseline data would be especially likely to engage in
relationship sacrifices following Intimate Partner Violence. These findings were not supported by the
results. The second hypotheses were that women in the long term dating relationship were more likely
to engage in relationship sacrifices following Intimate Partner Violence. This proved to be accurate.
Researchers suggest that the results may not be generalized to the general population because of the
lack of ethnicity and the small severity of abuse occurring.

Who Is Polonius Pit Ophelia
Question 1
The best description for Polonius would be how shrewd and senile he was. He did want the best for
both of his children but he did it in the worst manners. See you now your bait of falsehood take this
carp of truth. (2.1, 69 70) This shows how much lack of confidence he had in Laertes when he went to
college. Polonius has little faith in Laertes that he needs a spy to find out if Laertes has committed a
wrongdoing. This proves how shrewd of a man Polonius is because he has a sharp judgment, but he
also follows his judgments to extremes.
Another example is when Polonius pit Ophelia into a rough discussion with Hamlet. He wants her to
talk with them even after they broke up, but Polonius wants to prove Hamlet is mad. He beseeched me
to entreat your Majesties to hear and see the matter. (3.1, 24 25) Polonius is blaming Hamlet for them
to spy on him. He also needs a way to prove that he is insane and uses his own daughter just to prove
it. This shows that he was senile because of how he is weak in his head for using his own child to find
out if a man is crazy or not. While this horrid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Polonius told her to not be with him, she would still think he is a worthy man to be with since her
brother didn t protest the relation. This would cause a different chain reaction because if she stayed
with Hamlet he would have told her his plan and they would stay together. Then she would have

through the portrayal of increasing numbers of immigrants into the nation and the threats this influx
has on the cultural stability and longevity of the nation explains how the citizens of the nation, wither
directly affected by immigration or not, move towards a more protectionist and nationalist state of
mind in order to promote the conservation of the nation s ethnic culture. The act of addressing the
problems with public opinion when not provided with all of the facts, but only certain facts, does show
its colors and makes for a strong topic to be discussed and addressed in further literature due to being
only lightly addressed here. Being that the biggest problem with this paper is the fact that there was
such a small and focused group of individuals polled, and no others, it would be best that future
research into this matter should contain a broader range of data, while still focusing on the central
topic of how perceived effects of immigration cause growth in nationalist and

For centuries classical Chinese dance was passed down mostly among the common people. After
1919, however, dedicated artists believed that they had a responsibility to systematically document
Chinese dance that was the beginning of the formal teaching of classical Chinese dance. To develop
and rejuvenate folk dance, the artists learned from dance elements of folk operas, and incorporated
techniques in ballet training and Chinese martial art forms, creating a unique system of classical
Chinese dance. For the history of Russian Classical ballet, it originated in a group of dance academies
in Moscow and St Petersburg in the eighteenth century. At first the dancers were from poor
backgrounds usually from orphanages but the Tsars were particular ballet enthusiasts and so the
profile grew. However, in the nineteenth century some of the best French and Italian dancers and
teachers went to Russia and ballet developed considerably more than in Western Europe where opera
was preferred. It was under this climate that Russian ballet led the way in classical dance with such
famous stars as Anna Pavlova, Mikhail Foskine and the legendary Nijinsky, who all trained with the
Frenchman Marius Petipa at the St Petersburg Imperial Ballet.

Value Chain System
VALUE CHAIN SYSTEM
The value chain concept was created by Michael Porter and explained in his book Competitive
Advantage , published in 1980. The value chain is a series of activities that create and build value
culminating in the contribution of total value to the organization. Porter used the concept of value
chain as a systematic approach to examining the development of an organization s competitive
advantage in the marketplace.
In using the value chain concept, the total activities undertaken by a business are split into Primary
Activities and Support Activities. Primary activities relate to inbound logistics, operations, outbound
logistics, marketing and sales, and service. Support activities include procurement, technology ...

Australian National Identity
Identify and discuss the nature of national identity in Australia. How has/have national identify/ies
been portrayed and maintained and which groups have been excluded?
The nature of Australian s national identity has been an ongoing debate for many years. It involves
how Australians see themselves, and how other countries view Australia as a whole. Throughout the
country s history, the national identity has not remained constant, and currently it is a debate to what
Australian s true national identity is. As the original country to settle in Australia (excluding
Aboriginals), British Culture has a strong influence in Australia. Australia was originally a colony of

As a young country, Australia feels like they have to prove themselves, and they reckon the best way
for them to do that is on the competitive playing field(2). The nation s character and identity always
seems to be on trial during international sporting events, and the nation prides themselves on
international victory. Victories against England and the United States are especially sweet to
Australians because of their relationship with these superpower countries. Matches against New
Zealand are also of the utmost importance to Australians pride because of the proximity of their
neighboring country. Issues of national identity are always at stake when Australia competes against
these countries. Other than cricket, Australians pride themselves on many other sports. After the
debacle of the 1976 summer Olympic games where Australia won no medals, the Australian Institute
of Sport was created. This institute brought all sports back into the national limelight and reminded
Australians how important sport was to their national identity. Other sports Australia prides
themselves on are tennis, swimming, rugby, soccer, and their very own Australian Rules Football. This
is a game that gives them a sense of national identity because they created it. Although it is based
mainly in Victoria, it is very heavily followed in the region. People are mostly fans of one particular

Is Julius Caesar A Hero Or A Villain
In life, people often look up to leaders and rulers in respectful viewpoints; whether it be out of bias or
out of understanding. Leaders are at the top looking down upon us because of what they believe in,
how commanding their words are, and the trust the people invest in them. Julius Caesar was neither a
kind leader nor was he an understanding ruler; from his egotistical actions, his violent attacks and
scandals with Cleopatra, and his controversy throughout Rome as leader in all its simplicity, I am
undoubtedly certain Julius Caesar was a villain in disguise.
First of all, Julius Caesar was an egotistical leader. He wore purple robes, a symbol of kings and
vanity. This implied he truly believed that he was above all of his citizens, and in order to be a strong
and capable leader one cannot emit overconfidence. He declared himself dictator for life, which
confirmed these reasonings that he truly believed he was a god. Furthermore, he was overconfident ...

However, very few citizens in Rome stood fully behind Caesar and all of his glory. Even though
Caesar is perceived today as a strong and powerful leader, society overlooks the fact that his people
disliked him so much they had the audacity to murder the so called loved leader. His controversy
echoed throughout the streets and his name was feared throughout Europe. Thus, Julius Caesar was
disliked by his own people which, in the end, led to his own demise.
On the whole, Julius Caesar was a villain. He proved through his actions, his power, and his fashion
that Caesar was only out for himself and was determined to have his name etched in stone. From his
purple robes that represented his egotistical views of himself, his scandalous actions and murderous
ways, to his image he projected onto his people, there is no doubt that Julius Caesar was never and

Emotions in Negotiations
We negotiate every day for different purposes, and each day we experience emotions, both positive
and negative. When negotiating, formally or informally, with family or in the organizational
workplace we often do not know how to handle ourselves, yet alone the emotions of the other person
or group. As educated people, we often try to ignore the influence of emotions on decision making.
Neuroscience evidence now shows that sound and rational decision making is contingent on prior
accurate emotional processing. The basis for this is the somatic marker hypothesis. The somatic
marker hypothesis provides a systems level neuroanatomical and cognitive framework for decision
making, the impact, and influence on it by emotions. The key idea of this hypothesis is that decision
making is a process that is influenced by marker signals that arise in bio regulatory processes, which
includes those that express themselves in emotions and feelings. This influence can occur at multiple
levels of operation, some of which occur consciously and some of which occur non consciously
(Bechara Damasio, 2000). Essentially, somatic markers are associations of stimuli that induce an
associated physiological affective state. We may feel embarrassed; have muscle contractions,
experience a heart rate increase, endocrine release, posture, and facial expression changes. These are
all a result of somatic marker interpretation. The physiological change occurs in the brain and is
relayed to the

talks about their main contributions for their companies, problems they experienced, and their
similarities and differences; and concludes by discussing the factors that may have impacted their

Introduction of Professionals and Their Contributions Michael Dell is the founder and CEO of Dell
Computer Corporation. He took Dell Computer public and the stock became the number one stock of
the 1990 s, soaring almost 90,000 percent (Krames, 2003, p. 58 59). Michael Dell expanded the direct
selling model because he believed a very close relationship with the customer and vendor would lead
to success. His philosophy basically said, Managers hoping to create successful brands cannot do it by
imposing their own views on the marketplace ... there needs to be a mechanism in place whereby the
company learns to make the products that its target customers actually want (Krames, 2003, p. 59).
With this philosophy, he built a company that continuously attempts to interact with the customer at as
many levels as possible to provide the customer with what they want at the price they want. Andy

However, in spite of this, the industry has suffered a decline in labor productivity beginning in the
1960 s that has continued its trend since that time and seems to be in no hurry to reverse its course

Low productivity and waste are the first things to go, because efficiency and the enhanced level of
project knowledge allows for owners to gain early cost insight as well as to focus on realizing their
vision more fully in the design process, while contractors and builders can focus on project quality and
ideal financial performance, and architects are allowed more time for exploration of the project design
without having to worry about rushed documentation time in addition to being able to improve budget
management and cost control (Cohen, 2010; American Institute of Architects, 2011). All of these
benefits lend themselves to reducing, if not eliminating, any risk that low productivity and waste will
be an issue throughout the duration of the project. The level of mutual trust and respect that is
encouraged and facilitated allows each discipline to focus on their own assigned tasks and
responsibilities while remaining confident that their colleagues will contribute just as much as they
themselves plan to do. Rather than wasting materials, money, and labor while waiting during the

Dred Scott V. Sanford
In the history of the United States Supreme Court, there are a multitude of cases that have left an
indelible mark in the tapestry of American history, culture, and society. Among these landmark
disputes may be found issues as divisive as reproductive health, fundamental economic freedoms, the
power of the Supreme Court and, of course, race. Among these, Dred Scott v. Sanford occupies a
special place. Often called as the worst decision made by the Supreme Court , Dred Scott v. Sanford
provided an impetus for slavers to continue an injustice that had existed since the colonial era . By
deciding the way it did, the United States Supreme Court also created a divide between the northern
and southern states a divide so great that it eventually led to the American Civil War. Such an
enormous effect on the sentiment of the times warrants a closer look at the decisions of the justices
involved in the Dred Scott decision. Doing so will also shed light into the intricate logic behind the
justices decisions essentially the reasons why they concurred or dissented from the main opinion
written by Chief Justice Roger B. Taney. The process of interrogating the Supreme Court s
interpretation of the Constitution will also reveal the fundamental societal sentiment regarding slavery
and African Americans at the time. Dred Scott was an African American slave that sued for his and his
family s freedom, relying on his claim that his ownership to Dr. John Emerson, and later to John

Summary Of Gun Control
This week, I chose an article about gun s control.
The article was written by Kelin Emmett and reviewed by Firmin DeBrabander .
Their opinion contradicts the opinion of some in saying that the right to have a weapon makes a
society free. The authors accuse the fear to make it pro gun. This is not freedom. The authors also
criticize the media by encouraging fear. The article claims that the communities most affected by
violence approve the control of the guns, and the areas least affected by violence often celebrated the
guns as emblematic of freedom.
My opinion about the subject of this article is:
I agree with the authors about having the power to have a gun don t give you freedom. If you want a

Should Prison Gangs Become More Prevalent Inside Our...
Prison gangs within the penal system are problematic and a multifaceted issue for several reasons.
One reason gangs are so problematic in the penal system is due to the threat they impose on others,
including other types of gang bangers, non gang affiliated inmates, correctional staff, prison
administration, and the overall security of the facility itself. According to research, A composite
measure of gang misconduct represents the threat that particular gangs pose to prison order (Gaes,
Wallace, Gilman, Saffron, Suppa, 2002). In fact, There is little doubt that prison gangs are the source
of considerable misconduct and present serious challenges to the management of prisons, which is
why numerous strategies have been employed to control and suppress gang activity (Pyrooz Mitchell,
2015). Why are prison gangs becoming more prevalent inside our nation s prison system? Since the
1950s, prison gangs have developed in American prisons more rapidly than in the previous years.
Correction staff recognizes some prison gangs as being a security threat group or STG. A security
threat group is a term for prison gangs that describes how they negatively impact the security of prison
operations (Smallagher Smykla, 2015). Gangs have increased in size and popularity with the penal
system because of desegregation with the facilities. After desegregation happened in the 1960s,
inmates regarded desegregation as a need to join together racially, especially as a means of

Contrast The Spanish And English Colonies From 1492 To 1700
In a time when Native Americans occupied present day America, the Age of Exploration began in

Puritans could practice their faith without scrutiny. It is in this context that the Native Americans used
to dominate the New World until the Spanish founded New Spain for Gold, God, and Glory. The
English explorers who settled in the New World after being persecuted in England and to make profit

Admittedly, there was a difference in the way the Spanish and English lead to the Native Americans
downfall. The Spanish Friars forcibly convert the indigenous people with the mission system going as
far as to kidnap a Native America to convert him to Catholicism. The English converted the natives
using Praying towns which were completely optional and did not force the Native American to work
for the colonist. This difference occurred because the Spanish Friars and the conquistadors were more
focused on getting labor out of the natives while the English settlers mainly wanted to save the
indigenous people, who the English colonists thought were savage and doomed. On the other hand,
there was similarity in the way the Spanish and English forced the Native Americans to war after
attacking their religion and taking their land. The way the Spanish used the encomienda system. This
was a system set up by the Spanish king in which he lent out land to conquistadors to make profit by
using anything that was on the land including people. This was under the condition that the
conquistadors protected and converted the indigenous people on their land. The Spanish used this to
justify the need to extract labor and resources from the Native Americans who inhabited the New
World. The English used the way the Spanish treated the natives as a guide on how the

Since 1971 the health care system has deviated from each other. While Canada has had publicly
funded national health insurance, the United States has relied largely on private financing and delivery
(Goran Ridic). The current health Care act (Canada health act) was introduced in 1984 and it covers
almost all the cost of citizens medical cost. In the course of this period, spending in the United States

Canada health care system is relatively low compare the United States. So why are do they have better

Under the Act, each provincial health plan is administered at the provincial level and provides
comprehensive first dollar coverage of all medically necessary services. With minor exceptions, health
coverage is available to most if not all residents with no out of pocket charges. Most physicians are

covered services are illegal. Most Canadians have supplemental private insurance for services that are
not covered, such as prescription drugs and dental services. Consequently, physicians are forced to
participate and each health plan effectively serves all residents in the province (Henderson 487).

Historical Truth of Gladiator
In the year 2000 Universal Studios released the film Gladiator. This film directed by Ridley Scott is
both a great and terrible depiction of the Roman Empire in its Golden Age. Some of the tiniest details
of this time period have been observed and recreated skillfully, yet some major issues have been
completely altered or tweaked. Right from the opening scene one can view historical inaccuracies.
First, there was no last great battle against the Germanic tribes the day before Marcus Aurelius death.
However, a great battle was fought late in the campaign in 179 C.E., yet Marcus Aurelius did not die

In fact since the character Maximus did not exist in true Roman history Commodus life came to an
end in a rather different manner. In 192 C.E. Commodus mistress, Marcia, his Praetorian Prefect, and

whine, however the poison was not strong enough and Commodus was only heavily drugged and

Commodus athletic friends, a wrestler named Narcissus, to strangle him in his bath on December 31
of 192. Ironically enough Commodus was to be proclaimed a Consul the following day. The character
Proximo in the movie also claims that Marcus Aurelius had banned the gladiator fights and forced him
to scratch a living in the north African Roman colony of Mirabile Dictu. While Mirabile Dictu is an
actual colony in Mauretania the fact is that Marcus Aurelius actually passed a piece of written
legislature that ensured the continuation of all gladiatorial games even through times of economic

The Battle Of Nazi Dictator Adolf Hitler Essay
On February 27 of 2014, masked Russian troops without insignia infiltrated in south Ukraine and
captured strategic sites across Crimea, a rugged peninsula that strategically juts in the Black Sea.
Within a few days Crimea was under Russian control and by July 2015 Crimea was formally
integrated into Russia. The whole episode drew international consternation against Russia, which
resulted in successive rounds of economic sanctions. A few days after the annexation, Ms. Clinton
likened the move to the actions of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler (Rucker, 2014), a sentiment that was
quickly adopted by the media; for example, on March 2, 2014 Bloomberg published an article entitled,
In Ukraine, Echoes of the Anschluss (Bershidsky, 2014) and a few days later, on March 7, 2014, BBC
published an article entitled, Crimea seen as Hitler style land grab (Kralova, 2014). This is a very
grave accusation and, given that the USA and Russia collectively hold 90% of all nuclear weapons,
prudence is in order.
Therefore, in this essay I purpose to assess the validity of the claim by using the Ladder of Inference, a
reasoning method likened to a ladder as it is a step by step process that helps us draw better
conclusions from true facts and reality. (Mind Tools). We can use this method in any of three ways;
reflection (becoming aware of our own thinking), advocacy (making our thinking visible to others),
and inquiry (inquiry into other s thinking). (Ross, n.d.) For this essay, I ll depend on

does the saying apply to death in battle, but it also applies to those who have not excepted Christ and
follow his rules shall receive hell. The
Europeans who live in the medieval era were very religious and believe in Jesus Christ and
Virgin Mary. For examples, stories like the Everyman and Ubi Sunt Qui ante Nos Fuerunt are often
read in musical rhythm and their topics often explore romantic feelings
(vocabulary.com). In the Medieval era, the major theme in stories that are used constantly is memento
mori, to helps teach and express a lesson in plays, lyrical poems, and about the belief of the Europeans
in the 15th century.
In addition, the use of memento mori is mostly used in plays, normally to leave a great impact at the
end to give the audience something to remember and learn some sort of lesson.
For example, a popular play that was performed at the time was Everyman. Everyman s plot was to let
everyone know that time waits for no man and if your heart is not purified and clean enough for God,
then he or she will spend entirety in hell when death reaches them. We see
this when death

The Century Guilt Essay
Heirlooms are essential parts of a family s heritage and kinship. Family heirlooms can be jewelry, a
decoration, or possibly even a quilt. The Century Quilt has a theme of the origins of heirlooms by
using symbolism of the squares on a quilt and by using imagery to express a memory of a character.
The theme of The Century Quilt is one of separation from family either by the family or by voluntarily
excluding oneself from the family. ...the blanket found my sister s bed the last time I visited her.

Night and Fog Essay
Night and Fog
I must say that this film is very traumatizing. There are some images in this film that will be burned
and scarred into my mind for as long as I live. I have seen many holocaust films, but no one was as
near as dramatic and depicting as Night and Fog. However I did like the theme of this movie. It is very
sad but yet realistic. Our minds are murky and dull. We tend to only remember the important situation
in our lives. Yet we don t remember the importance of our own history. I say OUR history be cause we
all are human beings on this earth. Whether we believe in Allah, Jesus, Jehovah, or whatever higher
power, we are all one race, and that the human race. It is very sad to know that human beings were

2) The theme in which everyone in class agreed on which the comparison about the past and the
present was very clear. The same pathways which were filled with the blood of the victims were now
all buried under the ground. The color represented the present and the black and white represented the
past. The music helped in elaborating this great film. As I mentioned in class different instruments
helped create different moods for different scenes in the movie. We heard the cello and the violin to
create sadness and remorse. The flute created eeriness and the trumpet created awareness. I thought
these were instruments and tools that help make this film extraordinary. I think the director did a great
job in filming this movie. He didn t take any credit for his achievement but I believe he honored and
remembered the victims of the holocaust. One of the most important lines of this film that really
impacted me was who will be our next executioners? The reason why I loved this line is because we
make little things so trivial and we take everything for granted. Our liberties are a blessing and yet
people don t seem to realize this. I believe that only when we are faced with a natural catastrophe that
will put humanity s survival at risk and we lose everything that will be the day that we will have
gained all. Night and Fog is a great movie, although I wouldn t watch it again because of the images
that are

In just one day, research says that victims can go through at least 30 men a day traveling from country
to country. These women and children get confused and no longer know what to think and do. Some
even forget that they are being trafficked. This leads to multiple types of diseases and unwanted
pregnancies. In the past, male trafficking has been very rare, but lately in some states it has become
more popular than female trafficking. The men are used to work in hard labor jobs. In the past year
male trafficking has outnumbered females in certain categories of trafficking. Traffickers have started
to use 3 methods such as: Means, action, and purpose. These 3 methods all mean something different
that helps lure their victims in. Those methods all lead to the limited opportunities and education that
traffickers face daily. A lot of times traffickers will trick people into letting them think they can help
them. It may be involving their children s future or even the adults job. These adults and children are

The Problem Of Gender Inequality
Gender inequality is a serious problem in our community. Since childhood I saw my mom work long
hours in order to bring food to our table. Unfortunately for me, I never got to see my dad since he left
my mom before I was born. I grew up in Monticello, New York, a place known for its poverty and
violence. Monticello featured woman working in grocery stores and men seen selling and abusing
drugs on the streets. Whenever an expensive car would drive by, men would stare and express verbal
signs of hatred towards the owner. Since this was the lifestyle I grew up around, I had to make a
choice whether to stay here, sell drugs or go to college and pursue a healthier life. An important factor
that contributed to my decision, was a recent encounter I had with gender expectations. I understood
why our perception, state of mind, was a key factor that determined gender inequality, how it
determined who gets hired, who contributes most to his or her work and why this was such a problem.
At age 15, I decided to apply for a job in my local Mc Donald s. I had waited almost a month for this
job and although no past experience was required, I still had a great deal of fast food understanding on
my resume. After my interview was over, I was confident that I would be hired, even the manager
assured me since I was the most intelligent applicant out of all applicants, I would be given more
priority. To my surprise another person had applied for the same position, was hired by the manager

Essay On Rolls Royce From the understanding of The Hayes and Wheelwright model of operations contribution (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015, p. 44) we can conclude that during the period of 1960 Rolls Royce fell into the Internal Neutrality Stage (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015) where their operations process was considered to be at the poorest stage as they did not contribute to any competition what so ever and their operation process did not fetch them any profits. Moreover at this stage, there is a serious lack of Product Innovation and Process Efficiency Management where the operations of the firm are not even considered as the source of revenue (Slack, Brandon Jones, Johnston, Betts, July 2015).We can confirm this from the case study where it was mentioned that Rolls Royce at 1960s ... New Approaches And Education For The Success Of... 7 New Approaches and Education for the Success of Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems There is a common thinking in the academia and professional arenas that the solution to the untreated wastewater discharges into our water bodies can be prevented or mitigated mainly with the construction of wastewater sewer collection systems and wastewater treatment plants. Part of the purpose of this research is to revisit and analyze the benefits of using decentralized wastewater treatment technologies and evaluate the latest wastewater treatment technologies available. 7.1 Overview of Centralized Wastewater Treatment Systems Infrastructure It is also of common knowledge that our nation s wastewater treatment infrastructure is widely recognized to be in serious overhaul, if not outright replacement. (Crawford 2011). Also it is known that wastewater management does not figure among the environmental legal and regulatory matters that command public attention, despite the direct human and environmental health impacts of wastewater infrastructure failures, to say nothing of the unsavory nature of ruptured sewage lines and massive sewage spills, with their attendant harms for both land and water pollution (Crawford 2011). This is due to a lack of knowledge and education to the public concerning this serious threat. A serious national wastewater treatment crisis is imminent. • 9. Amylase Lab Report The results in Figure 1, supported both the hypothesis as well as the predictions because the graph depicts how the differences in temperature changed the enzyme activity of amylase. The results concluded that as temperature deviates from optimal temperature amylase will hydrolyze starch at a lower rate. At 5 and 70 degrees Celsius amylase took longer to hydrolyze starch compared to 25 and 40 degrees Celsius. The results also supported the prediction that at 40 degrees Celsius, enzymes will break down starch at a faster rate than at 5 degrees Celsius, 25 degrees Celsius, or 70 degrees Celsius. The results showed 40 degrees Celsius as the optimum temperature for the hydrolysis of starch because 40 degrees Celsius is close to the body s temperature. When humans are sleep deprived there is an increase in amylase and this study done by Räikkönen shows that short sleep duration in both children and adults correlates to an increase in amylase. Compared to girls, boys were found to have a lower efficiency and shorter duration of sleep compared to girls. Symbolism In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven Sherman Alexie s book The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven was written using a multitude of literary devices to explain what it is like to be a native American. The novel Alexie has written is a combination of vignettes to show the life of Native American people through symbolism and other literary devices. In the vignette The Fun House Alexie uses various symbols to present and describe things in this vignette. It is in this vignette where Alexie brings the creek into the book. Alexie uses the Tshimakain creek as a symbol to express that you need to look within yourself to find the strength to change. The creek in a sense is the symbol for change itself. Alexie uses the character of the aunt, Nezzy, to reveal how bad her life is on the reservation. Her husband is a drunk and has gotten into reoccurring car accidents, as indicated on page 79, where am I The hospital Again? Yeah, again . After she gave birth to her son, had her tubes tied unwillingly by the doctors, to prevent her from having any more kids. They lied to her to get her to agree to have her tubes tied. They told her it was to prove she was Indian, but in reality, it was a dishonest trick. Alexie shows that Nezzy s husband and son are very demanding, for she says, you re just a couple of ungrateful shits (Alexie 77). They take advantage of her. They just let her do everything and don t think that they need to do anything to help her. Her husband and son also don t help her. She asks on page 77 why the son didn t help her, and the son couldn t stop laughing. This is the point Nezzy realizes that she needs change. The creek represents change. It represents the washing away of the bad stuff and carrying it far away. Creeks never rest and they never stop changing. Creeks and rivers change the scenery and the landscape around them, they do the likewise for people, washing away the weights and the corrupt things of people to create something new. Nezzy is ready for change, so she looks to herself to find the strength to do so. In one occurrence, she is merely lying in the creek. • 13. The Decline Of Reading In The US People today have lost interest in reading. Otis Kramer says in The Decline of Reading in the U.S. Damages Our Intellectual Life, For the first time in modern history, less than half of the adult population now reads literature. When children are not taught to enjoy reading they carry that through life which causes problems that are hard to fix later in life. There is a loss of interest in reading because of schools, parents and technology. This can cause problems with intellect and mental states. Parents can solve this, if they teach their children to enjoy reading early on. The lack of interest in reading is due to many things, but tends to begin with young children. Schools and parents do not encourage their children to read for fun (Charleston). Parents do so because they were not taught to enjoy reading, or they do not have time. Schools, on the other hand, create an environment where reading becomes more of a chore than a fun activity (Denby). Schools do try to teach kids to enjoy reading, teachers will set times or page numbers for their students to read. A study on this method has shown that when told to only read a set amount of time or pages, children will only read the amount required by the teachers. The things that children read are normally not something they chose. This decision creates a hatred for reading in children, even if they loved to read before. He did want the best for both of his children but he did it in the worst manners. See you now your bait of falsehood take this carp of truth. (2.1, 69 70) This shows how much lack of confidence he had in Laertes when he went to college. Polonius has little faith in Laertes that he needs a spy to find out if Laertes has committed a wrongdoing. This proves how shrewd of a man Polonius is because he has a sharp judgment, but he also follows his judgments to extremes. Another example is when Polonius pit Ophelia into a rough discussion with Hamlet. He wants her to talk with them even after they broke up, but Polonius wants to prove Hamlet is mad. He beseeched me to entreat your Majesties to hear and see the matter. (3.1, 24 25) Polonius is blaming Hamlet for them to spy on him. • 28. Emotions in Negotiations We negotiate every day for different purposes, and each day we experience emotions, both positive and negative. When negotiating, formally or informally, with family or in the organizational workplace we often do not know how to handle ourselves, yet alone the emotions of the other person or group. As educated people, we often try to ignore the influence of emotions on decision making. Neuroscience evidence now shows that sound and rational decision making is contingent on prior accurate emotional processing. The basis for this is the somatic marker hypothesis. The somatic marker hypothesis provides a systems level neuroanatomical and cognitive framework for decision making, the impact, and influence on it by emotions. The key idea of this hypothesis is that decision making is a process that is influenced by marker signals that arise in bio regulatory processes, which includes those that express themselves in emotions and feelings. This influence can occur at multiple levels of operation, some of which occur consciously and some of which occur non consciously (Bechara Damasio, 2000). Essentially, somatic markers are associations of stimuli that induce an associated physiological affective state. We may feel embarrassed; have muscle contractions, experience a heart rate increase, endocrine release, posture, and facial expression changes. These are all a result of somatic marker interpretation. The physiological change occurs in the brain and is relayed to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He took Dell Computer public and the stock became the number one stock of the 1990 s, soaring almost 90,000 percent (Krames, 2003, p. 58 59). Michael Dell expanded the direct selling model because he believed a very close relationship with the customer and vendor would lead to success. His philosophy basically said, Managers hoping to create successful brands cannot do it by imposing their own views on the marketplace ... there needs to be a mechanism in place whereby the company learns to make the products that its target customers actually want (Krames, 2003, p. 59). With this philosophy, he built a company that continuously attempts to interact with the customer at as many levels as possible to provide the customer with what they want at the price they want. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Low productivity and waste are the first things to go, because efficiency and the enhanced level of project knowledge allows for owners to gain early cost insight as well as to focus on realizing their vision more fully in the design process, while contractors and builders can focus on project quality and ideal financial performance, and architects are allowed more time for exploration of the project design without having to worry about rushed documentation time in addition to being able to improve budget management and cost control (Cohen, 2010; American Institute of Architects, 2011). All of these benefits lend themselves to reducing, if not eliminating, any risk that low productivity and waste will be an issue throughout the duration of the project. • 31. Dred Scott V. Sanford In the history of the United States Supreme Court, there are a multitude of cases that have left an indelible mark in the tapestry of American history, culture, and society. Among these landmark disputes may be found issues as divisive as reproductive health, fundamental economic freedoms, the power of the Supreme Court and, of course, race. Among these, Dred Scott v. Sanford occupies a special place. Often called as the worst decision made by the Supreme Court , Dred Scott v. Sanford provided an impetus for slavers to continue an injustice that had existed since the colonial era . By deciding the way it did, the United States Supreme Court also created a divide between the northern and southern states a divide so great that it eventually led to the American Civil War. Such an enormous effect on the sentiment of the times warrants a closer look at the decisions of the justices involved in the Dred Scott decision. Doing so will also shed light into the intricate logic behind the justices decisions essentially the reasons why they concurred or dissented from the main opinion written by Chief Justice Roger B. Taney. The process of interrogating the Supreme Court s interpretation of the Constitution will also reveal the fundamental societal sentiment regarding slavery and African Americans at the time. One reason gangs are so problematic in the penal system is due to the threat they impose on others, including other types of gang bangers, non gang affiliated inmates, correctional staff, prison administration, and the overall security of the facility itself. According to research, A composite measure of gang misconduct represents the threat that particular gangs pose to prison order (Gaes, Wallace, Gilman, Saffron, Suppa, 2002). In fact, There is little doubt that prison gangs are the source of considerable misconduct and present serious challenges to the management of prisons, which is why numerous strategies have been employed to control and suppress gang activity (Pyrooz Mitchell, 2015). Why are prison gangs becoming more prevalent inside our nation s prison system? Since the 1950s, prison gangs have developed in American prisons more rapidly than in the previous years. Correction staff recognizes some prison gangs as being a security threat group or STG. A security threat group is a term for prison gangs that describes how they negatively impact the security of prison operations (Smallagher Smykla, 2015). This film directed by Ridley Scott is both a great and terrible depiction of the Roman Empire in its Golden Age. Right from the opening scene one can view historical inaccuracies. First, there was no last great battle against the Germanic tribes the day before Marcus Aurelius death. • 41. The Battle Of Nazi Dictator Adolf Hitler Essay On February 27 of 2014, masked Russian troops without insignia infiltrated in south Ukraine and captured strategic sites across Crimea, a rugged peninsula that strategically juts in the Black Sea. Within a few days Crimea was under Russian control and by July 2015 Crimea was formally integrated into Russia. The whole episode drew international consternation against Russia, which resulted in successive rounds of economic sanctions. A few days after the annexation, Ms. Clinton likened the move to the actions of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler (Rucker, 2014), a sentiment that was quickly adopted by the media; for example, on March 2, 2014 Bloomberg published an article entitled, In Ukraine, Echoes of the Anschluss (Bershidsky, 2014) and a few days later, on March 7, 2014, BBC published an article entitled, Crimea seen as Hitler style land grab (Kralova, 2014). This is a very grave accusation and, given that the USA and Russia collectively hold 90% of all nuclear weapons, prudence is in order.
