Adolescent Self-Harm
Self harm in Adolescents
The objective of the research paper was to determine the prevalence of self harm in adolescents. The
research was conducted using a survey with a self report questionnaire. This research took place in a
total of forty one schools in England. Six thousand and twenty students participated in the research;
most of those students were ages fifteen through sixteen. The main outcome of the research was
deliberate self harm. Results showed that self harm was more common in females than it was in males
(eleven point two percent vs three point two percent). Females reported the factors to deliberately self
harming to be recent self harm by friend and/or family members, misuse of drugs, depression, anxiety,
low self esteem and impulsivity. Factors in males self harming were suicidal behavior in friends
and/or family members, drug use and low self esteem. Based on all the statistics, researchers
concluded that deliberate self harm is quite common in adolescents, especially in females. They
concluded that schools should integrate mental health awareness and educate the students about
mental health problems along with screening for those at risk. Deliberate self harm, self poisoning, or

Potential Explanations Paper
Potential Explanations
US Israeli relations often appear to focus on America s ability to enforce its sphere of influence in
Israel by its diplomatic and monetary utility. Since 1976, Israel has been the most exponential annual
recipient of US aid and the largest recipient of cumulative US assistance since World War II. The US
had provided over 95% of economic development assistance and food aid to Israel, totaling to roughly
$68 million per year between the years of 1949 and 1965. From 1966 through 1970 aid increased to
about $102 million to include an estimated military loan increase of 47%. From 1971 to the present,
US aid to Israel has averaged over $2 billion per year; two thirds of which has been military assistance
(Sharp,2015). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Prospect theory may help explain these anomalies. This theory provides a framework for the
evaluation of alternative choices made by individuals, firms and organizations. The first case to be
examined is the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 which is exemplary of Israel s occasional
nonconformity to US requests. In summary, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) invaded Lebanon despite
President Reagan s execution of a cease fire. This act of non compliance beckons the question, why
did Israel accept the risk of having sanctions imposed on them by their primary financier? Or why
didn t the US influence over Israel manifest favorable actions for the US? There is potential for an
explanation by applying the Prospect theory model to the Invasion of Lebanon case study. Israel
initially complied with President Reagan s cease fire initiative until Israel constructed a perception
that benefits would accrue from engaging the perceived threat of the enemy. Israel believed that while
the cease fire was implemented the PLO were strengthening themselves while they, Israel, was
faltering (losses) under the cease fire restrictions. Israel evaluated two alternative choices, the first
choice was to continue compliance with the US cease fire initiative or alternatively, to disregard the

Allusions In The Chronicles Of Narnia
One Christian man who utilized and clearly enjoyed literature both of fiction entertainment and non
fiction as a means of spreading the Christian worldview is C. S. Lewis. Lewis, though the joys of the
sub genre of fantasy, managed to create an entertaining story while also upholding and spreading the
Christian worldview. One of his most famous works, The Chronicles of Narnia, is a series filled with
magic and the impossible, but the entire series is riddled with allusions to the Bible, allusions that fell
into place because of his Christian faith. The creation of Narnia (The Magician s Nephew, Chapter 9)
matches the account found in Genesis; the lion present throughout the series, Aslan, is similar to God
and Christ, and the symbol of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories. There is a feeling
of greatness and satisfaction in reading and thinking about different situations, of looking at things
form the point of view of another. It is here, in the art of story and of writing fantastical literature, in
which I have found both my passion and, as I believe at this time in my life, calling. There is more to
telling a story than simply pulling story elements from thin air. In a miniscule nutshell, it takes, to
various degrees, planning, delving into psychology, and research. A good story takes imagination,
work, prayer, and, of course, a good deal of coffee. It has been twelve years since I first discovered the
joy of writing, and since then, the desire and joy of this action of creation has only grown, much like a
seed of a great oak tree. To me, there are few things that match the euphoria of writing and completing
a story, or even just a chapter in a manuscript. I have a passion for both writing and reading:
indulgences (in the right moderation) which tend to go hand in hand. After all, what greater teacher for
the writer than those who have written and kept moral standards which they released into

The Importance Of Being A Class President
Good afternoon class ladies and gentlemen, thank you for allowing me to have the privilege of
speaking in front of you today. About this time I m supposed to get up here and tell you a little short
story about myself, and start off like ever since I can remember, I have always wanted..... But instead I
m be different and start it off a little something like this. I have not always wanted to be your class
presentant, but what I have always wanted to do is say something that we all do not have the guts to
say. The reason I believe I am the right candidate for this class president because I too don t believe
that teachers and other staffs doesn t care about what we have to say or what we believe would be
right for us, see if when we are going over the syllabus and we all are asking questions we get the
response that we didn t want or hope for, If you vote for me I will have the desire to help make a

John wrote to the seven churches explaining the need for a relationship with Christ. After speaking to
the seven churches that are in the Roman province of Asia, the book of Revelation moves forward in
the prophecy. Revelation 4:1 tells us that we moving forward: After this and what must take place
after this. The point is to show us that the information concerning the seven churches has stopped. A
new series of images is beginning. John sees a door standing open in heaven. The voice that spoke to
John at the beginning that sounded like a trumpet. Christ is speaking to John and calling him into
heaven. John does not actually go into heaven, as we see in verse 2. John is having a new vision and
John is going to see into the throne room of heaven. As we are taken into this vision, we must
visualize the picture before us. Try and picture this in your head and see what is going on in heaven

Race Biological Theory
The theory of race is a difficult concept to grasp as there are many ideas, opinions and views on the
topic. The real question being, is race a biological idea or a social concept? According to the National
Coalition for Health Professional Education in Genetics (2016), and from a biological perspective race
is defined as a group that possess characteristic traits and gene frequencies that distinguish it from
other groups in the same species . At the same time the American Anthropological Association (1998),
defines the social concept of race and ethnicity as the identification with population groups
characterized by a common ancestry, language and custom . Just by virtue of their definitions it s clear
that regardless of the perspective there is overlapping causing the two concepts to be intertwined with
each other.
Biologically speaking, there is one race in our species know as the Homo Sapien . All Homo sapiens
have the same basic DNA structure with only minimal variations. In fact, any two humans are 99.9%
biologically identical. Even though we re all quite similar there is that 0.1% difference in our genetic
makeup. Scientists explain the biological differences in three ways: ... Show more content on

The perception of race really depends on individual experience. It depends on who is judging and who
is being judged. Our daily interactions are shaped by society s assumptions and stereotypes which are
based on racial classifications. These classifications have created a social hierarchy of dominant and
submissive roles that tend to promote racism. Although society seems to be fearful of the various form
of racism that can exist we continue to maintain the social factors that contribute to the inequalities.
Having a better understanding of racial classifications and racism can move the process forward in
addressing the factors of inequality, thereby giving everyone a fair

Parental care:
Parental care means caring for the young ones for their protection and survival. The best example of
parental care is seen in human beings where parents look after the young ones with love, care and
affection. In other groups of vertebrates as well, parental care can be seen, not to the very high extend
but they do adapt some measures in order to protect the young ones. In fishes also parental care can be

What Are The Arguments For Obeying Laws
When it comes to the law most of us see it as a set of rules we must follow and obey. The law has a lot
to do with the understanding that we must stand under legal obligation to one another. The main
argument for obeying laws is: anything that harm people, even indirectly, should not be done if it
could be avoided, people tend to depend on a functioning legal system for protection, successfully
disobeying the laws. No legal system can be perfectly just, but reliable. In the Crito the laws state that
Socrates had to obey the laws because of all that they had done for him. It is said that if the law was
not there then Socrates would have never been born since it is was because of them that his parents

Honey Face Mask Research Paper
Making a Honey Face Mask at Home Honey is made from flower nectar by bees and the liquid
contains fructose, glucose, and monosaccarides. People use it as a food sweetening alternative to sugar
and its chemical properties make it ideal for inclusion in recipes for baked foods. Throughout history,
honey has also been used to treat ailments and fight infection. It has become a popular skin care
ingredient and many people enjoy using a honey face mask to cleanse, moisturize, and treat their skin.
Honey is considered a humectant, which is a substance that attracts moisture from the air and directs it

Warming can be done in the microwave or by putting the honey into a glass container resting in hot
water. An acne mask is made from 1/3 cup of warmed honey, one to three crushed aspirin, and three
tablespoons coconut, olive, or almond oil. After adding the crushed aspirin to the blended honey and
oil, apply the mask to skin. After ten to 15 minutes, rinse off the mask, and pat dry the face.
Moisture is important for all types of skin, but people suffering from acne should not use lotions and
creams that clog pores. A face mask that moisturizes and fights acne is the perfect solution. It is made
from one teaspoon each of plain yogurt and warmed honey. Mix the ingredients, apply the mask to the
face, leave on for between ten and 20 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water, and pat the face dry.
There are also honey face mask recipes designed for people seeking anti fungal, anti aging,
exfoliation, and skin calming benefits using only natural ingredients. With several items from the
kitchen cabinets and refrigerator, people can whip up honey based face masks to treat nearly any skin
condition. Not only will they save money, they will also avoid applying unknown and potentially
harmful substances to their

The History And Future Of NASA
NASA s problems with funding that caused the failure of the Landsat commercialization continued
into the future, causing an increase in dependence on foreign and commercial launch vehicles. NASA
continued the downward trend of its funding, into the 1990s, even after seeing a brief jump during the
Bush administration. (Kring) From 1962, NASA had provided the framework for commercial
companies to enter into the world of spaceflight, when Kennedy signed into law the Communications
Satellite Act of 1962. (Communications Satellite Act of 1962) This act provided the framework for
private companies to design, manufacture, and operate their own satellites, while still only offering

Packington Working Conditions
Along with the other hundreds of thousands workers in Packington, I experience the gruesome
working conditions first hand. When I first arrived in Chicago with my extended family, I acquired the
labor of painting advertisements on cans of meat, which was a job that paid me well. Most aspects in
my life were going favorably well until the painting factory I worked for pressured their workers to
paint cans quickly causing such an extraordinary amount of cans, the factory temporarily shut down.
Once the supply of cans were running low, the factory reopened, but my wages were noticeably lower.
Because I am invictus, I protested that I was being cheated out of a portion of my wages, which only
led to me being fired. After a miserable month of being jobless and searching for anyway I could ...

capable of having, but if we unite as a union to stand up for what we believe in, we can successfully,
positively define our futures. Without the union, the working citizens will always be treated like
animals, but with the union, workers can one day be treated appropriately. One way in which the
union will improve workers lives is by giving benefits, which means a worker take a day off of work
without getting fired. This also means if someone happened to get hurt on the job, they could take as
much time off as they needed, without their position being replaced. Furthermore, the union will
secure workers with less working hours, so they have more time to spend with family and doing

other benefits not mentioned. Together, if we unite as one, we can create a higher quality and

Theater Technician Essay
In the fine arts community there are many options of occupation from drawing and painting to singing
and instruments and even the Theatre. In theatre there are many options past acting. You have lights,
sounds, makeup and costume, set, stage manager, assistant stage manager, house manager, ushers, and
director. As a theatre technician I would want to do it all but mostly costume, set, and sound. With
costume design comes clothing design. You are given a character and you have to show who they are
through clothing. Pulling things from the script is important as to find small information that could be
used. It also helps to figure out what they go through, do they change clothes, do they roll through dirt.
You ll also need to know the time period to know what fashions we re appropriate. If it s victorian

Maybe it s inside the building or outside. Are most buildings brick, is the furniture inside older, does it

characters. If your play is set for 1956 but your set looks 2016 it may not make any sense unless that s
the theme you re going for. Design has many elements to keep in mind. How does the set go with the
play? It has to make sense with the story. Building bigger sets will require a lot of support and you
need to know that it can fit. Working with the space around you to figure the exact design is better
than for bigger projects so you know your limitations. Smaller projects need to make a big impact to
the audience, more detail would more likely be needed. You also have to consider the levels of your

Films on Demand: Sociology Collection: Social Institutions
There are different social institutions such as family, education, religion, health care, government, and
the economy and work. Each of these are important to society for many reasons. They make people
who they are and teaches them how to function in society. Family is where everything should start.
Your family is the first form of socialization that you experience as well as the religion that your
family is a part of. Religion is another thing that helps to form who you are. As you grow education is
another big part of your formation. Family, religion and education are the first three social institutions
that a person has to deal with.

talked about how children are expect to be taught something and memorize it then give the
information back to the instructor. It goes on to show how children who actually get to get out and
experience the information then they are learning better. It is more of a hands on way of learning. It
also got the children to interact with the other children and not just read about how something work.
They are able to learn and see what goes on.
Each institution influences everyone differently. For me I am influence by my family more than
anything. My family is what I look at as to how I am supposed to behave and relate to society. My
mother was the one who taught me how to act for an early age so that I knew what was acceptable and
what was not. Religion is not really something that has influence me as much as I thought it had. After
doing my own research on different religions I am able to look at the different religions that are out
there and have an open mind. I again have to credit my mom here because she helped me to
understand that just because we are Catholic does not mean that everyone out there is. The last
institution that was discussed in this paper was education. This is another

The Effects Of Cloning On Human Life

Cloning. The very word instills feelings of excitement, hope, possibilities and a montage of futuristic
images of test tubes and beakers and DNA ladders spinning through space. But the word also conjures
anxiety, fear and internal struggle over right and wrong, good vs. evil, science vs. religion. The
cloning of vital organs or cells to cure diseases could potentially save the lives of millions of people
around the world. Throughout the past, experiments have shown the benefits that cloning can give the

With the current tests on the cloning of animals, it shows that, even with the small chance that they do

Manali Oak, an author for Buzzle.com, states that the cloning of the human race may slowly cause a
change in how people evolve and adapt since the human body will no longer need to build immunities
or be hardened by the toughness in nature (3). He believes cloning would provide the opportunity for
the human race with the ability to cure anything and avoid sickness, which would leave humans
defenseless if a situation arises and cloning is unavailable for use (3).

Analysis on Beethoven S Piano Sonata No3, Op 2
Analysis on Beethoven s Piano Sonata No 3, op. 2, Allegro con brio
Composers since the early classical era have used sonata form to express through music ideas which
are at once complex and unified. This form contains a variety of themes and permutations of these
themes, but is brought together into a comprehensible whole when these excerpts reappear.
Beethoven, in the first movement of his Piano Sonata Opus 2 Number 3 utilizes this form to its full
potential, modifying the typical structure in his characteristic way. The sonata begins softly but with
unmistakable energy. The trill like sixteenth notes on the third beat of this motif surge the piece
forward into the next bar. The two bar motif appears again, and is then varied and ... Show more

The dynamic increases to fortissimo at mm. 73 as the texture thins and harmony becomes very clear
for a brief section. In this second closing theme G major, G augmented, and E minor7 in the bass are
strongly arpeggiated before four octaves of C, D and G quickly reaffirm the key of G. This cadential
crash is followed by some of the softest and lightest material of the whole movement, which due to the
surrounding measures is proved to still be part of the second closing theme.
The exposition is finally completed with a third closing theme. Thundering octaves of scalar G major
material with a variety of applied harmonies lead us to the final PAC of the exposition. Beethoven
would have surely failed his part writing test on this last cadence on four counts of parallel fifths and
two counts of parallel octaves, with doubled leading tones. After a repeat of the exposition, the
performance moves on to the development with the soft material from the second half of closing
theme two. It begins a whole step higher than its first appearance and immediately begins to modulate.
Eight bars later new arpeggiated material enters on a Bb7 chord, beginning a twelve bar chromatic
bass line moving to C# right before measure 109. Here the opening theme enters, similarly a whole
step higher than at the beginning. Hearing the principal theme in the wrong key is a sure sign of a false
recapitulation, and the P theme is

What Are The Stereotypes Of Boys And Girls
Ever since birth your parents choice the gender, from pink or blue to the toys you play when you were
younger to even who was acceptable to hang out with. Boys and girls have always had different roles
growing up. Boys are suppose to be the tough and strong person who didn t ever need help with
anything and girls were always the weak ones who always needed someone to help or save them. Its
all how society told us how to grow up, women and men both share something in common and that s
how society says how we should look, women just have it a little harder. Starting at a young age girls
are already being pressured to be perfect , the models ,the magazine covers, all reveal a completely
impossible body image. Not because their parents may have had what some people call good genes...
No, it s the photo shop and all the editing and weight lose that sometimes they have to lose just to get
a certain role. They are not happy with it. They look nothing like they do in photos or movies or
magazines but that s not what society sees and that s why people feel the need to be perfect and no
flaws whatsoever, they feel if they don t look a certain way the guys wont take the time to look their
direction that no one would like them that s where the depression and self harm comes into play and
that s the sad part of it. Middle school is where we see it start more than often, people are just now

Social Movement Research Paper
To begin, the footage of the police s actions towards people like Michael Brown, Kajieme Powell, and
many other cases reveal the need for the six factors to help develop and support a social movement.
First, if they want to have a successful social movement they must obtain structural plausibility.
Meaning, if they want to produce and sustain a social movement, then they should have a base or
rights and equal freedoms obtained from our Founding Fathers. The structural plausibility is in The
Bill of Rights as it gives Americans freedoms and rights equally. Second, the structural strain in this
movement is the police stereotyping people of color by placing them into demeaning categories such
as suspicious, dangerous, and violent. Consequently, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forth, the precipitating event that prompted people to begin this movement is in videos showing
police abusing people of color without a legitimate reason. Furthermore, the increase of innocent
shootings of black people brought attention to Americans, the police, and even the President. These
shootings brought awareness and convinced others to put this serious issue to an end. Fifth, the
mobilization for action began from the community s desire for justice for what the policemen did to
many innocent black people. They started to intercede by creating protests and bringing awareness to
social media by using items such as hashtags. This showed in Michael Brown s case when people
began to organize protests called, No justice, no peace and hashtags, if they gun me down as seen on
Twitter (Complex News, 2014). People started to use social media as their source of movement by
revealing videos of the shootings and posts of the location of the protests. Lastly, the President could

Conventions In The Film Harold And Maude
In the Hal Ashby film, Harold and Maude, Ashby uses the conventions of the romantic comedy to
bring Harold and Maude together in order to show the audience that life should be lived while being
the truest person they can be. This film uses the conventions of romantic comedy to make a film that
celebrates nonconformity and choosing ones own path in life rather than one that is predetermined by
others. Ashby uses several conventions in order to show the importance of nonconformity and
choosing your own path in life; it uses the conventions of meeting, separating, and uniting,
spontaneously bursting into song, the idea of the unruly woman, the characterizing Harold and Maude
as foils of each other to show this theme.
The use of meeting, separating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harold and Maude are opposites in their views of death and life in the beginning of the film. Harold is
obsessed with death and goes to funeral and demolition sites for fun. He does not go there to enjoy
what life there was in the objects before their demise, but to obsess over the decay and death. This is
due to his mother s reaction when he blows up the chemistry room at his boarding school and is told
of his death. She faints for the attention of the police officers and the partygoers. As Harold tells
Maude, she reached out as if groping for support and with this long sigh, she collapsed in their arms
(Harold and Maude). To his mother, Harold s death was just a way for her to gain attention. Harold
also begins seeing his suicides as a way to get attention, and he begins practicing for his own death
instead of living his own life. As Harold tells Maude, I haven t lived. I ve died a few times. (Harold
and Maude). This shows Harold s preoccupation with his suicides and his eventual death. Maude is
instead obsessed with life. She goes to funerals in order to celebrate the life that was lived before the
death, and goes to greenhouses to see how things grow and live. As she tells Harold, I like to watch
things grow (Harold and Maude). Maude s obsession with life is what allows Harold to learn how to
live. Since she enjoys watching things grow and

Native American Blindness
This disease is one of the most used disease due to the product being developed for it and the product
actually being able to help restore the condition back to normal. Currently the Argus II is also being
tested for people with more common conditions like age related eye vision loss.
Even though the pictures patients saw that were produced by the artificial eye were way far from
being the ideal type to call someone not blind, they did let the patient see clear enough to allow them
to recognize faces who they would otherwise not be able to see. This breakthrough in the bionic eyes
is going to benefit lots of patients with common blindness, macular degeneration, all which affect
around 500,000 people in the USA. The Argus II a kind of retinal ... Show more content on

If humans can restore the full sight to a blind person what can they do to a person who is not blind and
is capable of normal sight. The possibilities are endless as many things can be done and many doctors
are foreshadowing them as possibilities. A future where having bionic eyes would make you
superhuman? How? Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans can only see the visible
spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the entire electromagnetic spectrum,
from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see heat, identify types of gases by sight, and even
look through walls. In a future of humans with a computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing
topic of the future. With a camera as an eye, humans will be able to do things like: zoom in and out
like a camera lens, have UV vision, record what we see, and even automatically be able to sync it to
the net with our Wi Fi connected eyes. This is all just speculation but there s no denying that this type
of technology as innovative as it is, is going to turn science fiction into reality one day. Having bionic
eyes will open up a broad array of applications in multiple fields such as studying microbes without
having to carry all the equipment needed to see under the microscope, soldiers will be able to detect
mines in a field, airports will be able to make their security stronger and more secure as

Desert Southwest
In the Desert Southwest, we are blessed with two different blooming seasons, spring and fall. Roses
don t really enjoy the heat of summer and go into summer dormancy, meaning that they just exist and
don t grow or bloom significantly. However, with the days growing shorter and summer temperatures
begin to cool, it is time to lightly prune your rose bushes, which will stimulate new growth. In
September, begin by pruning back about 1/4 of the total size of the rose bush, (this isn t the major
pruning that occurs in the winter). As always, prune back to an outward facing bud at an angle of 45
degrees. Seal any pruning cuts larger than the diameter of a pencil with Elmer s glue to prevent borers.

Keeping a hummingbird feeder is a good idea, but there are other things you need to do to keep the
little birds happy and humming in your garden. Hummingbirds, unlike most other animals, do not find
their food source based on smell. Because of this, brightly colored plants and feeders are what attract
the tiny creatures to your garden. Red is the best color to attract them. Keeping a clean, full feeder
provides hummingbirds with the energy they need to keep flying around your garden and to other
stops on their feeding route. The sugar water solution, however, is not their main food source.
Hummingbirds actually get the nutrients and proteins they need for survival from soft bodied spiders
and tiny insects on the plants in your garden. Their outrageous metabolisms burn up calories so
quickly, they need the sugar and flower nectars to keep them energized so they can hunt. The
traditional sugar/water solution calls for one part sugar to four parts water. Do not boil the water to
make syrup. Just mix it in room temperature water. Some gardeners have experimented with solutions
that have a higher concentration of sugar to water. There is no research to show that high concentrated
solutions of sugar harms the hummingbirds. Their metabolism operates so much differently than most
animals. A higher concentration of solution just means they can drink less often to get the energy they
need to hunt. It

Experiences Of Being A Teenage Mother
Experiences of Being a Teenage Mother in the UK.
The aim of this review is to observe and describe the experiences of being a Teenage Mother. To also
create guidelines to help develop a support programme that is contextual and relevant to the needs of
teenage mothers. It was found that previous education experiences and social support groups were
important factors in influencing the way teenage mothers have adapted to being a mother and how
they practiced childcare. Becoming a teenage mother formed the feeling of responsibility within the
maternal role which led to them showing affection towards their babies. However, teenage mothers
appreciated the help they received from their families and health care providers. Instruction and ...

The aim of this review is to systematically review the qualitative evidence on the lives of teenage
mothers, under the age of twenty, within the UK from 2000 to 2014.
It is agreed that teenage pregnancy and early motherhood can also be related to those who are lacking
money, or material possessions and poor educational achievements, poor physical and mental health,
social isolation, poverty and other connected factors. There is also a rising acknowledgement that
socio economic disadvantage can be both a cause and a consequence of teenage parenthood.
Teenage pregnancy is seen as a concern in the United Kingdom (UK). There has been little research
from primary care observing teenage motherhood and its effects.
Aim:
To explore the experiences of all teenage mothers in relation to their role as a mother and their
expectations of their future as a teen mother.
Methods:
The research data discussed in this sections has been drawn from a qualitative study examining young
women s experiences to teenage motherhood. The study focused on key decisions, choices and
experiences made by young women as they became mothers.

Cultural Diversity In College
It s important for students to have a cultural diversity in a college because it helps them to keep an
open mind and learn about the different cultures around them instead of being kept in a bubble of
isolation. Also, it connects people that comes from different backgrounds which can help them grow
their minds when it comes to learning about a tradition that comes from someone else s culture. This
can be able to open up new opportunities such as careers either within their area or overseas. Another
thing is that it helps the students become self aware with decisions the students might make based on a
certain problem that the students might face in their life. Culture diversity not only helps you to
become more open minded, but to also connect with the world. Without having an open mind the
students will just have a narrow view of the world since they re not expanding their views from
outside of it except from what they are given to see. We think it s important to show that great higher
education can be there for all people (Watanabe 1). Also it help the students to promote creative
thinking, when it comes to problems one might go through they would have many options with the
decisions they are deciding about instead just staying inside the box. The students has the opportunity
to go and find the solution through a different way. This explains how in a college with a cultural
diversity can affect the student s education, but in a good way that can be spread around and

when choosing clippers, make sure you choose the most quiet clippers just in case your dog doesn t

may irritate your dog s skin or eyes and these are mostly shampoos with artificial dyes and fragrance.
You should use shampoos with natural fragrance like eucalyptus and lavender. The ingredients used on
a shampoo will be indicated on the bottle and you should take a keen look on them.
STEPS TO FOLLOW

has dark nails,it might be difficult to identify where the quick is and in this case you should try shining
a bright torch through the nails towards you to make the quick visible. You can also use baby oil or try
looking on the underside of the nail as the quick is more visible from below.
You should start grooming your dog as a puppy so as to make it used to the exercise and this will
make it easier for you to groom it and make it more comfortable when its being groomed.
I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial and that it helps you to get the impression you want from your
dog. Dogs need to be clean too and they should feel fresh all the time. Sometimes it may be so costly
to take your dog to a professional for grooming and besides its a waste of money if you can do it
yourself. Grooming your own dog will also create a stronger bond between you and your pet. I would
really appreciate if you left your comments concerning this tutorial. If you liked it, feel free to share to

Split The Movie Sociology
Split is the newest film from the writer and director, M. Night Shyamalan which his name became a
joke since he has created some disasters films mostly in the category of action and blockbusters.
However, with the 2015 s The Visit he has shown signals of his recreation of the genre as well as a
sign for his return to thrilling form. As this was my anticipated film of the moment, I was vastly
surprised from this movie. At this point, we could agree that M. Night Shyamalan has been returned
and welcomed by other audiences in return form for thrillers. Not only does this film succeeds his
career in recent memory, but also creates an unexpected supervillain origin story that is a form of a
rarity these days.

However, with the film Split it breaks this stereotypes instantaneously. It may trick most audiences as

Half way, the film reveals that the man named Kevin has a rare psychological disease called
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and has distinct 23 different personalities that live in Kevin one
form body. First off, the film s entire premise and the plot is very unusual and interesting as in cinema
history, this range of ideas hasn t been thought out. The film does handle this idea in a fascinating
method and a classical method that does not follow similar routines of modern day film storytelling.
Also, it has a sense of fun as the film essentially knows how to express these different identities and
has fun playing around with them. Most of all, James Mcavoy is

Miller And Liz Aldermen Analysis
I think all women should have a choice in anything they do. The choice between having a career,
family or both is a discussion they should not take lightly and weigh all their options. They should
also take everyone in account, including the children. Women also have to be careful not to be caught
up in the superwomen syndrome. This is when career women scrambling to run two lives one at home
and one at work. They want to be good wives and mothers, but they also want to be intellectually
stimulated by a challenging career or at least bring in a second income to help their households get by.
In the New York Post article Why U.S. Women are leaving their jobs behind Clair Cain Miller and Liz
Aldermen write about women having to choose between having a family or career. I m surprised and

Catheter associated urinary tract infections are the most common infections that occur in the

Importance of Slavery to the Caribbean Essay
Importance of Slavery to the Caribbean
The significance of the role played by slaves in the history of the Caribbean cannot be
overemphasized. Nearly everything that defines the Caribbean today can be traced back to the advent
of Africans to the sugar plantations several centuries ago. For this reason it is impossible to ignore the
issue of slavery when studying the history of the Caribbean, as we are doing in this class. Through our
numerous readings on the status of slaves and their treatment by the societies in which they lived, we
have learned much about the sufferings and ordeals of these people. The following is an attempt to
organize my own particular feelings and reactions, which I have previously posted on line throughout

They were constantly being tested and lived very tough lives. Only the strongest survived, as they
were forced to live completely independently of colonial communities and thus had to fend for
themselves. They were also hampered by their lack of women in the early stages, and it was not
uncommon for a group of Maroons to raid another village in search of more women. The Buccaneers,
on the other hand, did not have as many such problems, though they did not exactly have it easy
either. They were more or less social bandits and gained international fame for their attacks on the
Spanish and Spanish possessions. This was a huge help to the French and English, who did not have
the power to do this themselves but were subsequently better able to establish colonies of their own in
the New World. The main difference between the Buccaneers and the Maroons is that while the former
clung to the European culture and society with which they were familiar, the latter attempted to create
their own.
The transition to sugar plantations in Puerto Rico came a bit later, while Cuba experienced this change
a few years earlier. There are a few reasons why this is so, given that both islands were closely ruled
by Spain. One of the main reasons given is ...the rate of prior capital accumulation and the attendant
existence (or lack) of a capital reserve to invest in sugar once the demand arose. (Beckles and
Shepherd, 1991, p. 58) For Cuba, the capital reserve

The Nursing And Midwifery Council
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (2008) states that nursing care must be evidence or best
practise based. In order to excellently provide such care Boswell and Cannon (2009, p. 2 7) states that
nurses must base their delivery of care on the most current, up to date health information available and
rigorous nursing knowledge. According to Melnyk Fineout Overholt (2005) defines Evidence based
practise (EBP) as a problem solving approach to clinical practise that integrates: A systematic search
for and critical appraisal of the most relevant evidence to answer a burning clinical question, one s
own clinical expertise and patient preferences and values. The benefits of EBP include resolving
problems in the clinical setting; provide clinicians with evidence based data, introducing innovation,
Achieve excellence in care delivery and improves efficacy and reducing variation in clinical
performance.
It is therefore vital for students to be able to evaluate and critique research papers in order for them to
regulate the validity of a study and to apply theories to practise. A research critique measures the value
and importance of a study and this is going to be determined by evaluating the strengths and
weaknesses of the study (Brockopp Tolsma, 2003, p. 400). Critical appraisal is the process of carefully
and systematically examining research to judge its trustworthiness, and its value and relevance in a
particular context (Astin 2009). The aim of this essay is to

The research was conducted using a survey with a self report questionnaire. This research took place in a total of forty one schools in England. Six thousand and twenty students participated in the research; most of those students were ages fifteen through sixteen. The main outcome of the research was deliberate self harm. Results showed that self harm was more common in females than it was in males (eleven point two percent vs three point two percent). Females reported the factors to deliberately self harming to be recent self harm by friend and/or family members, misuse of drugs, depression, anxiety, low self esteem and impulsivity. Factors in males self harming were suicidal behavior in friends and/or family members, drug use and low self esteem. Potential Explanations Paper Potential Explanations US Israeli relations often appear to focus on America s ability to enforce its sphere of influence in Israel by its diplomatic and monetary utility. Since 1976, Israel has been the most exponential annual recipient of US aid and the largest recipient of cumulative US assistance since World War II. The US had provided over 95% of economic development assistance and food aid to Israel, totaling to roughly $68 million per year between the years of 1949 and 1965. From 1966 through 1970 aid increased to about $102 million to include an estimated military loan increase of 47%. From 1971 to the present, US aid to Israel has averaged over $2 billion per year; two thirds of which has been military assistance (Sharp,2015). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Prospect theory may help explain these anomalies. This theory provides a framework for the evaluation of alternative choices made by individuals, firms and organizations. The first case to be examined is the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 which is exemplary of Israel s occasional nonconformity to US requests. In summary, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) invaded Lebanon despite President Reagan s execution of a cease fire. This act of non compliance beckons the question, why did Israel accept the risk of having sanctions imposed on them by their primary financier? Or why didn t the US influence over Israel manifest favorable actions for the US? There is potential for an explanation by applying the Prospect theory model to the Invasion of Lebanon case study. Israel initially complied with President Reagan s cease fire initiative until Israel constructed a perception that benefits would accrue from engaging the perceived threat of the enemy. Israel believed that while the cease fire was implemented the PLO were strengthening themselves while they, Israel, was faltering (losses) under the cease fire restrictions. Israel evaluated two alternative choices, the first choice was to continue compliance with the US cease fire initiative or alternatively, to disregard the cease ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of his most famous works, The Chronicles of Narnia, is a series filled with magic and the impossible, but the entire series is riddled with allusions to the Bible, allusions that fell into place because of his Christian faith. A good story takes imagination, work, prayer, and, of course, a good deal of coffee. It has been twelve years since I first discovered the joy of writing, and since then, the desire and joy of this action of creation has only grown, much like a seed of a great oak tree. The real question being, is race a biological idea or a social concept? According to the National Coalition for Health Professional Education in Genetics (2016), and from a biological perspective race is defined as a group that possess characteristic traits and gene frequencies that distinguish it from other groups in the same species . At the same time the American Anthropological Association (1998), defines the social concept of race and ethnicity as the identification with population groups characterized by a common ancestry, language and custom . Meaning, if they want to produce and sustain a social movement, then they should have a base or rights and equal freedoms obtained from our Founding Fathers. Fifth, the mobilization for action began from the community s desire for justice for what the policemen did to many innocent black people. Conventions In The Film Harold And Maude In the Hal Ashby film, Harold and Maude, Ashby uses the conventions of the romantic comedy to bring Harold and Maude together in order to show the audience that life should be lived while being the truest person they can be. This film uses the conventions of romantic comedy to make a film that celebrates nonconformity and choosing ones own path in life rather than one that is predetermined by others. Ashby uses several conventions in order to show the importance of nonconformity and choosing your own path in life; it uses the conventions of meeting, separating, and uniting, spontaneously bursting into song, the idea of the unruly woman, the characterizing Harold and Maude as foils of each other to show this theme. Harold is obsessed with death and goes to funeral and demolition sites for fun. He does not go there to enjoy what life there was in the objects before their demise, but to obsess over the decay and death. This is due to his mother s reaction when he blows up the chemistry room at his boarding school and is told of his death. She faints for the attention of the police officers and the partygoers. As Harold tells Maude, she reached out as if groping for support and with this long sigh, she collapsed in their arms (Harold and Maude). To his mother, Harold s death was just a way for her to gain attention. Harold also begins seeing his suicides as a way to get attention, and he begins practicing for his own death instead of living his own life. As Harold tells Maude, I haven t lived. I ve died a few times. (Harold and Maude). This shows Harold s preoccupation with his suicides and his eventual death. Maude is instead obsessed with life. She goes to funerals in order to celebrate the life that was lived before the death, and goes to greenhouses to see how things grow and live. As she tells Harold, I like to watch things grow (Harold and Maude). Maude s obsession with life is what allows Harold to learn how to live. Since she enjoys watching things grow and ... The possibilities are endless as many things can be done and many doctors are foreshadowing them as possibilities. A future where having bionic eyes would make you superhuman? How? Well, light comes in different wavelengths and humans can only see the visible spectrum made of colored light. If a bionic eye could let us see the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to gamma waves we d be able to see heat, identify types of gases by sight, and even look through walls. In a future of humans with a computer in their eyes bionic eyes will be an ongoing topic of the future. Keeping a hummingbird feeder is a good idea, but there are other things you need to do to keep the little birds happy and humming in your garden. Hummingbirds, unlike most other animals, do not find their food source based on smell. Because of this, brightly colored plants and feeders are what attract the tiny creatures to your garden. Red is the best color to attract them. Keeping a clean, full feeder provides hummingbirds with the energy they need to keep flying around your garden and to other stops on their feeding route. The sugar water solution, however, is not their main food source. Hummingbirds actually get the nutrients and proteins they need for survival from soft bodied spiders and tiny insects on the plants in your garden. Their outrageous metabolisms burn up calories so quickly, they need the sugar and flower nectars to keep them energized so they can hunt. The traditional sugar/water solution calls for one part sugar to four parts water. Do not boil the water to make syrup. Just mix it in room temperature water. Some gardeners have experimented with solutions that have a higher concentration of sugar to water. There is no research to show that high concentrated solutions of sugar harms the hummingbirds. Their metabolism operates so much differently than most animals. A higher concentration of solution just means they can drink less often to get the energy they need to hunt. It ... Cultural Diversity In College It s important for students to have a cultural diversity in a college because it helps them to keep an open mind and learn about the different cultures around them instead of being kept in a bubble of isolation. This can be able to open up new opportunities such as careers either within their area or overseas. Another thing is that it helps the students become self aware with decisions the students might make based on a certain problem that the students might face in their life. Culture diversity not only helps you to become more open minded, but to also connect with the world. Without having an open mind the students will just have a narrow view of the world since they re not expanding their views from outside of it except from what they are given to see. We think it s important to show that great higher education can be there for all people (Watanabe 1). They were constantly being tested and lived very tough lives. Only the strongest survived, as they were forced to live completely independently of colonial communities and thus had to fend for themselves. They were also hampered by their lack of women in the early stages, and it was not uncommon for a group of Maroons to raid another village in search of more women. The Buccaneers, on the other hand, did not have as many such problems, though they did not exactly have it easy either. They were more or less social bandits and gained international fame for their attacks on the Spanish and Spanish possessions. This was a huge help to the French and English, who did not have the power to do this themselves but were subsequently better able to establish colonies of their own in the New World. The main difference between the Buccaneers and the Maroons is that while the former clung to the European culture and society with which they were familiar, the latter attempted to create their own. The transition to sugar plantations in Puerto Rico came a bit later, while Cuba experienced this change a few years earlier. There are a few reasons why this is so, given that both islands were closely ruled by Spain. In order to excellently provide such care Boswell and Cannon (2009, p. 2 7) states that nurses must base their delivery of care on the most current, up to date health information available and rigorous nursing knowledge. According to Melnyk Fineout Overholt (2005) defines Evidence based practise (EBP) as a problem solving approach to clinical practise that integrates: A systematic search for and critical appraisal of the most relevant evidence to answer a burning clinical question, one s own clinical expertise and patient preferences and values. The benefits of EBP include resolving problems in the clinical setting; provide clinicians with evidence based data, introducing innovation, Achieve excellence in care delivery and improves efficacy and reducing variation in clinical performance. It is therefore vital for students to be able to evaluate and critique research papers in order for them to regulate the validity of a study and to apply theories to practise. A research critique measures the value and importance of a study and this is going to be determined by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the study (Brockopp Tolsma, 2003, p. 400). Critical appraisal is the process of carefully and systematically examining research to judge its trustworthiness, and its value and relevance in a particular context (Astin 2009).
