Music And Cinema Music
The music selected for silent films is an important process that can affect the audience s experience.
Many films rely on music to enhance the action on screen and assist in telling the story. Emilio
Audissino places music selection into two basic categories for silent film music: the first being cinema
music, which acts as a silence filler for the viewer, and the second is film music, with the goal to assist
the film s narrative. For many silent films. the music is primarily cinema music. However, there are
some silent films that rely heavily on music to help convey the action on screen. Metropolis (1927) is
one such film, which used music scored specifically for it.
Gottfried Huppertz began composing the leitmotifs for the score during the early stages of the
production of Metropolis. He created each character s leitmotif through interactions with the actors,
thus strengthening the music s relationship to the film s story. Audissino writes, He would be on the
set to develop the themes for each character as they took form in front of the cameras, and played
parts of the music for the actors to bring them into the proper mood. Huppertz s music became an
integral part of the film and decades later would assist in its restoration. When his original score was
replaced with music from other composers, this affected the film s narrative. Although other scores
could convey the general atmosphere of the film, they lacked the specific emotional connections of

The Medical Uses Of Birth Control Pills
The Medical Uses of Birth Control Pills Over twenty eight percent or ten million six hundred women
of reproductive age are currently are using birth control pills for various medical reasons. Birth control
pills are a synthetic form of the hormones progesterone (a steroid released by the corpus luteum that
stimulates the uterus to prepare for pregnancy) and estrogen or oestrogen ( the primary female sex
hormone which is responsible for development and regulation of the female reproductive system).
(http://medical dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/progesterone) The use of birth control pills varies
from woman to woman, however, thirty eight percent of women are prescribed and use birth control
for medical reasons besides the prevention of unplanned pregnancy. Birth control pills are more
commonly used for the treatment of various medical problems that come with the female rear ductive
system than to the prevention of unplanned pregnancy. The most common medical uses of the birth
control pill are menstrual period pain regulators and relievers, treatment of acne, management of
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, prevention and treatment of Endometriosis, and the prevention of
Ovarian Cancer. Most women experience some pain during their menstrual cycle, but some women
often experience severe, almost contraction like, pain. The medical term for an extremely painful

Intrinsic Motivation, By Daniel Pink
At the point when a person arranges or needs to accomplish something, he or she has a motivation for
that particular thing. As it were, the point at which a person accomplishes something, that person has a
motivation behind why he or she ought to do that thing. Not generally there is motivation to
accomplish something, yet in some cases might be numerous reasons that are support a person to take
those activities to do it. Two of those motivations which Daniel Pink discusses are intrinsic and
extrinsic motivation, and how they are once in a while consolidated together. Dweck in the other hand
thinks as motivation in another way by intelligence praise. To change, we need to have a goal and high

The Food Proportions Of The United States
In the United States there are some stereotypes that come from other countries: outrageous food
proportion sizes, extreme sense of nationality, gun obsessions, etc. The food proportions seem to be
one of the most popular ones and along with that, the obsession with meat. This borderline obsession
with meat has miniscule benefits; however plant based diets are bustling with numerous advantages. A
happier body and mind starts with a plant based diet; a healthier body as well as a happy one. Which is
exactly why a plant based diet is healthier than it s counterpart. Finish this
The United States has an unprecedented record in trying to outrank all others. However, one thing they
do not outrank others in is heart disease; though it is the country s leading cause of death. In 2014,
there were approximately 614,348 deaths alone from heart disease (CDC). With heart disease there is
also high blood pressure; subsequently, high blood pressure is one of the top contributors of heart
diseases. In a recent study, the Japanese reviewed this in over 258 cases and came to the conclusion
that a plant based diet is associated with lower blood pressure (Vegetarian Times 26). All of the
vegetables, fruits, and whole grains attribute to the lower blood pressure, as well as to lower accounts
of heart disease. Also, since Americans eat surpluses of meat, huge amounts of cholesterol and TMAO
come with it. The average American consumes two to three times over the recommended amount of
protein

Oklahoma City Bombing Rhetorical Analysis Bill Clinton Essay
Oklahoma City Bombing Rhetorical Analysis The Oklahoma City Bombing would be considered the
worst terrorist attack on America prior to the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. Just outside of the
Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, on April 19th, 1995 a truck exploded, killing 168 people. 19 of
those 168 being children. The explosion caused damage to 300 surrounding buildings. Oklahoma City
was going through a tragedy and needed guidance from a leader.
Who would be a better option to comfort the families and friends of the lost victim, than the current
president of America, Bill Clinton, who had once resided in Oklahoma himself? Oklahoma City
needed someone to soothe their pain and give them back their lost hope. Clinton uses rhetorical ...

Today our nation joins with you in grief. We mourn with you. We share your hope against hope that
some may still survive. In this statement, he is using a pathos appeal to make his audience feel one
with their nation by their shared emotions of remorse and sadness, Oklahoma is not the only state that
is grieving. America has lost many sons and daughters. By using the words grief and mourn Clinton
shows how tragic and emotional the current event is and shows that he can interpret and understand
exactly what his audience is going through. Clinton reminds them that he will be there for them for
every step of the difficult process.
Another way Clinton uses pathos is when he tries to comfort the people who have lost loved ones by
saying, You have lost too much, but you have not lost everything. Clinton lets the audience know that
they have people that will help them through this hard time and they have the nation behind them: You
have certainly not lost America, for we will stand with you for as many tomorrows as it takes. Clinton
ultimately reaches his goal of comforting his audience by using ethos and pathos strategies throughout
his speech. Clinton s next move was to give advice from someone who had been in a similar situation.
Referring to the letters he received after the bombing, Clinton explains that one letter in particular
stood out. Clinton gives words of wisdom from a widowed

The Influences of Nature In Hinduism
In every civilization there is a main a religion and an influence of that religion. In India the main
religion is Hinduism and Hinduism is influenced by the nature around the country. Christopher G.
Framarin proposed his theory on how nature influences India in his journal, The value of nature in
India (Hindu) traditions. Framarin explains his ideas on how to achieve moksa and what animals have
effect on the moksa cycle. He also places other philosophers ideas into his journal and thoroughly
explains the ideas in detail and how he feels about them. The traditions of Hindusim that are
influenced by nature has an effect on everything they believe in. Ahimsa is doing good deeds or non
harm to anything in this world. Through ahimsa Hindu people can achieve moska. However, there are
more rules than just being nice to work through the caste system in Hinduism. Even though ahimsa is
non harmful there are many strict ideas on what exactly is harmful. Himsa can postpone moska, himsa
is the deed of doing harm or injury to another being. In the caste system the way someone can rise up
the top and become a divine is for him or her to perform ahimsa deeds and through each reincarnation
to step up in the caste. The Hindu s use a form of measurement when figuring out if the move up or
down in the system. Every ahima deed someone does it produces a merit and for every himsa deed it
produces a demerit. If so many merits are achieved moksa will be complete, however if a demerit is
taken

Sutter s Let Us Now Praise Famous Gullies
Sutter also wrote in his book, Let Us Now Praise Famous Gullies, that the burden of southern
environmental history, then, has been to reintroduce the environment as a casual force while avoiding
the determinisms of the past. In short, Sutter is presenting perhaps the biggest problem within
environmental history which is environmental determinism. Environmental determinism meaning the
idea that this environment is predisposed to act a certain way regardless and there was no way to avoid
it. Sutter avoids this way of thinking in his own book, by explaining that Providence Canyon may not
have been created if it were not for human interaction with the soil. Even so, humans are not the only
player involved in the canyons creation, one must also account for the poor soil in Georgia to get the

Barry Bonds Use Of Anabolic Steroids In Major League Baseball
The Major League Baseball organization is one of many sport organizations that takes a strong stance
on athletes that use performance enhancing drugs. Mark McGwire played for the Cardinals in 1998.
He had an amazing career as he broke the homerun record with 70 homeruns. Through his
accomplishments, there was speculation that he took steroids. He was questioned about it in Federal
Court and at first, he denied it. Later on, he admitted using Andro, which is a form of anabolic
steroids. Another baseball player had a very similar story. Barry Bonds played for the San Francisco
Giants. He likewise had very notable achievements, such as beating McGuire for the homeroom
record and he passed Hank Aaron as the career all time home run hitter.

Similarities Between Rome And Greece
Ancient civilizations are perhaps one of the most fascinating topics one could research, and of the
numerous civilizations that have sprung up over the years, perhaps none are more fascinating than that
of Ancient Greece and Rome. Greece and Rome emerged from Europe, in around the same place.
They are both similar and different, and are some of the greatest civilizations that have ever existed.
Religion is one of the defining aspects of pre modern era, and in none more evident than ancient
Greece and rome. Both Greece and Rome had different beliefs and rituals. In ancient Greece, one of
their most important beliefs was that the gods existed, they could influence human affairs, and they
welcomed and responded to acts of piety and worship (Cartwright 1). The fact that religion was a
major part in their day to day lives was also evident in their plethora of temples scattered across the
southern Balkan Peninsula, some of the most notable being the Temple of Artemis, the Erechtheion,
the Temple of Zeus, and the Parthenon. Ancient Greeks sacrificed animals and burnt offerings to
appease the gods, and called upon them in time of war. Romans were also polytheistic, adopting many
of the gods of Greece and other nearby civilizations (Wasson 1). Even though Rome adopted some of
the Greek gods, they still remained two different religions. Roman religion was far more strict than
Greek religion. In Rome, obeying a strict set of rituals was far more important than your individual

During this war, around 21,000 British soldiers died however, only 2,755 were killed in action, and
2,000 because of battlefield injuries. Over 16,000 British soldiers died due to diseases such as typhus,

there weren t enough beds. Also, soldiers who had infected limbs had to have them amputated with a

Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Good Teacher
One of the most essential exercises when in comes to professional development as an instructor is to
continuously reflect on your perspective, methodology, instruction and behavior within your
profession. Doing so ensure that you a growing and improving on teaching skills and building on old
strengths to benefit you as an instructor but especially the students that you serve. What is a good
teacher? What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become
themselves. 1A teachers objective should not be to shape the students as a reflection of that educators
image, instead they should see themselves as the medium of which the information in communicated,
they should see themselves a person who elevates that students to higher concepts of learning,
aspiration and liberation. A good teacher must recognize the strength and weaknesses in skills of the
individual and class and reflect on how to leverage strength amongst learners to become successful. A
good teacher plans with intention with all these things in mind to communicate the content of lesson to
the psyche of the learner. A good educator is transforms themselves and those they serve to reach their
loftiest goals. Strengths and Weaknesses The biggest strength I have is to be creative with the situation
that I am given. This in not only a skill that suggest that one can synthesize material to give it a sense
of authenticity, but also can adapt and accommodate in the moment. Even the best planners can have a
poor classroom dynamic; the rigidity of these classes is what prevents them from engaging students in
the moment. I genuinely believe in effective planning and mythology but I also believe in breaking
from the script and to accommodate the needs of learners in creative ways. The biggest weakness I
have is how I present direction of material. I believe that I am an effective communicator but there is
always room to grow on communication especially in a classroom that is foreign and does not speak
the language taught. Clear, concise instructions are key in building a classroom that functions and
transitions smoothly from one activity to another, or one piece of information to the next. If a student

Was the Reichstag Fire the Main Reason Why Hitler Was Able...
In 1934 Hitler moved in to take supreme power of Germany and was able to establish a dictatorship. I
agree that the main reason why Hitler was able to do this was because of the Reichstag Fire in 1933.
There were many other reasons other than this such as the Enabling Act, the banning of political
parties and trade unions and finally the Night of the Long Knives.
The Reichstag fire was the most important why Hitler was able to establish a dictatorship. On the
evening of the 27th of February 1933, the Reichstag building was destroyed by a huge fire caused by a
Dutch communist supporter called van der Lubbe who was caught at the site of the fire with matches
and firelighters. He was put on trial and was then executed after being found ... Show more content on

The Reichstag was now just a meeting place for the NSDAP.
The final reason for the establishment of Hitler s dictatorship was the Night of the Long Knives. Some
SA leaders demanded that the Nazi party should carry out its socialist agenda, and that the SA should
take over the army. Hitler couldn t afford to annoy the businessmen or the army. On the 30th of June
1934, Hitler, with the help of the SS, murdered around 400 of the SA members, including its leader
Ernst Röhm, along with a number of Hitler s other political opponents. All this was done in just 4
days! The Night of the Long Knives was important. The first reason it was important was because of
this, Hitler was given loyalty by the army. Because the army was much smaller than the SA, they
feared them a lot. Consequently, many of the Army s leaders asked Hitler to abolish the power of the
SA. If he didn t do this, the army warned him that they will put up a candidate to oppose Hitler. The
army was also the only organisation that had the power to remove Hitler. After he did this, the army
swore an oath of loyalty to Hitler.
So what am I to conclude? Is it still a yes or is it a no. In fact, I think the answer is still yes, because

How do professional design companies work through a design process? The video you are about to
see chronicles the efforts of a world renowned design firm, as they apply their process to the redesign
of a common, everyday product.
One of the best documented examples of the design process in action took place in Palo Alto,
California, at an industrial design firm called IDEO. ABC News gave IDEO the challenge of
redesigning the old and familiar shopping cart in just five days. Nightline chronicled the experience
and aired the program on February 9, 1999.

16. Of all the things that we are surrounded by every day, what has not been placed through the design
process?
Extend Your Understanding (Optional)
Engineers need to know what problems they are addressing. They must have an idea about the degree
to which the solution should be carried out, along with what the solution should do to solve the
problem. The engineer must also work within constraints, such as time and budget. A design brief is a
tool that is used to concisely identify the problem, solution expectations, and project constraints. The
engineer will often return to the design brief throughout a design process to assess the progress and
validity of his or her creative work.
Imagine that you are part of that design team. The project leader has given you the responsibility of
creating a design brief that defines the problem, states the expectations that the solution must meet,
and identifies the project criteria and constraints. Your design brief will serve as a guide to the team as

American History And Its Impact On The West And Distant...
Unsurprisingly, many historic cultures have not been accurately studied in modernity. Due to personal
biases, incomplete data, or a multitude of other issues, incorrect perceptions about these collapsed
societies remain. However, modern studies are beginning to reveal the inaccuracies of those enduring,
false notions. It is valuable to compare misunderstandings to the historic reality in addition to
discovering why the past happened as it did. Although newer, more factual information will not erase
long taught misconceptions about collapsed societies like Jamestown, El Dorado, or the Norse
Greenlanders, it provides the chance to better understand historic events in an effort to help guide
decisions that could affect the near and distant future. Jamestown has a permanently secured place in
American history as the young country s first successful, permanent colony. When the Europeans
arrived in 1606 with 104 men and boys hoping to find their riches in the New World, they found a
largely empty landscape. Over the next few decades, the Jamestown people were able to thrive while
the native populations were dying because the colonists had more advanced technology, Christianity,
and European sensibilities. They were able to properly manage the empty, surrounding area, convert it
to farmland, and grow highly profitable tobacco that helped spur further growth in what would
become the US. However, it s reality tells a much different story. The first colonists arrived in March

Illegal Immigration In The United States Essay
National Issues Paper: Illegal Immigration
There are more than 10 million illegal immigrants living in the United Sates, and each day that
number is increasing by 1,400 illegal aliens. An illegal immigrant is a foreigner who either illegally
crossed an international political border, whether it was by land, sea or air, or whether it be a foreigner
who legally entered a country but nevertheless overstayed their visa in order to live and/or work there.
The two focal attractions that the illegal immigrants perceive in the U.S are superior job opportunities,
and better living for their families. Several businesses in our Nation are eager to hire cheap,
submissive manual labor from overseas. Such businesses are hardly ever penalized due to ... Show

In addition, several immigrants are demoralized and countless others die in their struggles to cross the
border. Various border patrolmen have not only had the need to kill, but have been killed. The borders
are clearly unsafe, and with approximately 1,400 immigrants crossing it everyday the U.S is very
vulnerable to being in great danger and when the borders are vulnerable, the entire nation is
vulnerable. If the borders were more secure, then the number of illegal immigrants sneaking into the
country would reduce which would reduce many of the other issues that illegal immigrants cause. To
stop the immigration issues, the nation must stop those issues at its core, being the borders. When the
borders are taken care of, the issues that come along with them will also be taken care of. Not only do
illegal immigrants crossing the border cause border control issues, but they also cause critical national
security issues by jeopardizing the safety of the US citizens. For example, in September of 2007, forty
one illegal immigrants with gang ties to the Mexican Mafia, Sureno 13, and the Latin Kings were
detained for severe crimes in Northwest Arkansas. A number of of the gang members had been
previously deported, however, crossed the border illegally yet again. If a drastic number of deported
immigrants are able to cross the border more than once, it is only a matter of time until a terrorist
comes along and does a great amount of damage to the

My Mom Always Commanded By Don t Take Your Emotions Out...
My mom always commanded, Don t take your emotions out on food. In her essay Young Hunger,
M.F.K. Fisher uses three anecdotes to prove her argument about the hunger young people have for
love and attention. On the other hand J.J. Goode through Single handed Cooking writes about the
difficulties that a disability such as having no arms could introduce even with small chores such as
cooking. Food represents struggles in the lives of both M.F.K. Fisher and JJ Goode. Fisher and Goode
are both lacking something that they are trying to fill with food although the result they obtain is
different.
M.F.K. Fisher writes about the detachment she feels from her god parents in the first anecdote that she
introduces. Fisher laments It was simply that they were old and sedentary and quite out of the habit of
eating amply with younger people; a good thing for them, but pure hell for me (284). Fisher eliminates
herself from her god parents as she groups them with the old generation and counts herself as a young
person which she defines as a reason for their attitude towards food. Fisher cannot stand that her god
parents are easily wasting food and she is angry that they have forgotten about hunger while she is
starving.
While Fisher displayed emotional struggle with food, Goode s disability forces him to struggle with
food physically. Although Goode enjoys food, he finds himself testing all his abilities as a one handed
person when he prepares a meal. JJ Goode begins the discomfort he

The Last Picture Show Analysis
The Last Picture Show was directed by Peter Bogdanovich. The movie was released on October 22 in
1971. The film was based in 1951 and although it was unusual for a film in the 1970 s to be shot in
black and white, they did so to really capture the image and the feeling of the 1950 s. A sequel was
followed after The Last Picture Show called Texasville which was released in 1990. The Last Picture
Show is about two close friends, Sonny and Duane, that are in their final year of high school. They
meet girls, fight over girls, and wonder what they will make out of the rest of their lives. The Last

Stephen Glass In The Film Shattered Glass
Who is Stephen Glass? Is he trustworthy and truthful or manipulative and deceitful? After watching
the film Shattered Glass, the viewer is able to grasp a greater understanding of the central character in
this film, Stephen Glass, and answer this question once and for all. Glass is considered an extremely
kind, unique, manipulative, and, overall, interesting character. In the beginning of the movie, his
coworkers in the office fall in love with him, making him everyone s favorite. Abruptly, everything
goes downhill. Glass finds himself shifting from the New Republic s key to success, to the biggest

One little mistake ended up exposing him completely, landing him with no job and no friends who
have his back. Stephen Glass published his biggest article yet, Hack Heaven , where he falsely
reported an immense amount of information. He claimed that he was present at the event taking place
regarding a hacker convention, but in reality he was not. In fact, none of it was true, every single detail
he wrote in the article was fake news. Glass argued that he acquired enough information from other
random sources he came across, leading him to believe nobody would find out if he had no personal
fact to back up the information himself. He made up fake people, quoted them, referenced different
nonexistent companies, and participated in other unethical actions. Everything began deteriorating
when a man named Adam Penenberg, a writer for another newspaper, dug further into Glass story.
Starting as theories, Penenberg and his co worker Andy Fox built up a case and began supporting it
with facts, finally becoming confident with the fact that Stephen Glass fabricated the entire piece,
Hack Heaven . Facts such as dates and times did not match up with Glass statements and neither did
websites and phone numbers. For example, Penenberg told Stephen Glass that the website for one of
the sources that he mentioned in his article, Juke Micronics, was not believable. He said, Quite

California Vehicle Code Section 22500 ( F ) Essay
California Vehicle Code Section 22500 (f) Application in the City of Los Angeles The City of Los
Angeles is notorious for its space congestion: in most neighborhoods, simply finding an open parking
spot is considered a luxury. To make matters worse, California vehicle code section 22500 (f)
exacerbates Los Angeles congestion as it precludes vehicles from extending over any portion of a
sidewalk or onto a street. This paper will draw attention to the fact that 22500 requires amendment,
doing so would both reduce space congestion and ease vehicle accessibility. In July 1990, Americans

public entities and public transportation underwent expansive legislative restructuring in order to
comply with the new standards. Via title ii of the ADA, municipalities became responsible for
ensuring that public transportation be inclusive to all citizens including those with disabilities,
providing the latter easy access parking spots and wheelchair ramps. Then, in June 2002 in the United

Ronald Reagan for President 1984
The campaign ad Prouder, Stronger, Better is attempting to convince the people of America to vote for
Ronald Reagan to serve his second term as the President of the United States. The commercial begins
with a speaker telling the audience, It is morning in America... (Tuesday Team, 1984). The speaker
then states that people will go to work, move into homes, and get married on that day. The citizens of
the United States are also supposedly available to look at the future confidently due to inflation being
less than half of what it was four years ago and interest rates being about half the record highs of
1980. The video concludes with the speaker stating that Ronald Reagan s first presidency has made

The Development Of New Zealand Art From The 20th Century
The development of New Zealand Art from the 20th into the 21st Century
New Zealand is home to various great artists who have crafted and created a platform for current, new
and upcoming New Zealand artists. Throughout the 19th Century New Zealand artwork was
predominantly based around New Zealand s scenery, artists during the 20th Century such as Rita
Angus demonstrated through her artworks landscapes and sceneries of New Zealand whereas other
New Zealand artists such as Gordon Walters incorporated suitable Maori patterns and styles in his
artworks.
During the 20th Century it was apparent that New Zealand artists such as Colin McCahon was heavily
influenced by international artists and their artworks, adapted the style of cubism and began to use in
his own works. In the late 20th Century New Zealand began to acknowledge culture and diversity
within the country, it was then a beginning for Maori artists to become common and known of where
many would unite European modernism with traditional Maori features together. A notable Maori
artist being the late Ralph Hotere, who during his time was New Zealand s highest selling artist.
Hotere plays a significant role in not only in New Zealand art history but Maori history too as he
broke barriers of being a Maori artist, other current artists such as Shane Cotton and Michael
Parekowhai are also important as they are successful modern, Maori artists.

Reducing Number of Infiltration Cycles for La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 YSZ Cathodes
Xiaoyan Li
Abstract
In order to decrease the number of cycles of infiltration and maintain a comparable cathode
performance, the viability of using a conductive composite scaffold of La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 and yttria
stablized zirconia (YSZ) with one infiltration cycle was investigated. The infiltration material is nitrate
salt solution of La, Sr, Co and Fe to form La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite phase. Cathodes
fabricated from scaffolds using different ratios of LSF YSZ were tested by impedance spectroscopy
with the results showing that the ohmic resistance decreases as the amount of LSF increases. In
addition, scaffolds calcined at 1350oC exhibited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1,2 In this case, YSZ is included in the cathode to provide ionic conductivity, as well as enhancing the
connection between the electrode and the YSZ electrolyte. YSZ in the electrode also helps match the
thermal expansion of the electrode to the electrolyte.1 4 The functions of LSM in the composite
cathode include providing electronic conductivity and catalytic activity, but with negligible
contributions to ionic conductivity.4,5
The conventional method for fabricating the electrode is to deposit and sinter a mixture of the
electrode composites onto a dense YSZ electrolyte.4 The sintering temperature must be a compromise,
high enough to ensure the good connection between YSZ in the electrode and the electrolyte, but low
enough to prevent solid state reactions between the electrode composites.2,5 Indeed, most conducting
perovkites are unable to be prepared due to the formation of insulating phases at high temperatures
required for YSZ sintering.4 Therefore, the infiltration method was initially developed to separate the
high calcination temperature required to densify the YSZ electrolyte from the lower calcinations
temperature needed for the other electrode components.1,4,5 Furthermore, the infiltration method
provides a nonrandom structure where the electronically conductive components are deposited into the
previously formed porous YSZ scaffold.1 4 Infiltration also forms superior

Climate Change As A Threat Multiplier
National security, in the 21st century, has shifted from the focus on traditional threats (armed forces)
(Siddiqi, 2013) to the integration of new threats and challenges, which have global consequences as
the world evolves. Climate change has been increasingly identified as a serious contemporary security
threat (McDonald, 2013), nationally and globally, instead of an environmental concern (Dupont
Pearman, 2008). This challenge presents a long term global threat, with substantial human, national
and transnational security repercussions (Wuebbles, Chitkara Matheny, 2014). Furthermore, Wuebbles
et al. (2014) acknowledge climate change as a threat multiplier, seen to exacerbate stresses (i.e.
conflict, instability and poverty), enhancing the global importance of the issue as recognised as a
critical national security risk. In perceiving climate change as a threat multiplier, this essay will
recognise how the issues cumulative progression and consequences interacts with existing security
issues, directly and indirectly challenging national security (Brown, Hammill McLeman, 2007).
Secondly, the long term risk of climate change will be discussed, analysing the importance of
implementing adaptation strategies for risk protection and vulnerability reduction. Finally, being a
transnational security threat, global cooperation will be addressed, stressing the importance of
internationalism and collaboration to protect against this evolving threat to national and

Early and Mid 19th Century Thought Essay
Early and Mid 19th Century Thought
Throughout history, there have been many isms that had come and gone. Many things have come out
of these so called isms.
Romanticism began in the closing decades of the eighteenth century. It practically dominated
European cultural life in most of the first half of the nineteenth century. Poets such as Shelley,
Wordsworth, Keats, and Byron were all exponents of romanticism. This was expressed in many
different ways such as Writing, art and music.
Victor Hugo, A.W., Friedrich Schlegel, Schiller and Schelling all expressed their thoughts of
romanticism through writing. Caspar David Friedrich and John Constable expressed their thoughts on
romanticism on canvas through art. Later on, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

To the traditional rulers of Europe #8212;kings, aristocrats, and clergy #8212;the French Revolution
was a great evil, which had inflicted a near fatal wound on civilization. Edmund Burke s Reflections
on the Revolution in France was instrumental in shaping conservative thought. Burke, an Anglo Irish
statesman and political theorist, wanted to warn his countrymen of the dangers inherent in the
ideology of the revolutionaries.
Conservatism pointed to a limitation of the enlightenment. It showed that human beings and social
relationships are far more complex than the philosphes had imagined. They often find familiar
customs and ancestral religions more satisfying guides to life than the blueprints of philosophers.
Conservative theorists warned that revolutionary violence in the pursuit of utopian dreams transforms
politics into an ideological crusade that ends in terror and despotism.

Comparing Tiy And Agamemnon
Compare and Contrast: Tiy and Agamemnon In this essay I will compare and contrast two ancient
sculptures. The first is Queen Tiy, from Medinet el Gurob. This self portrait sculpture depicts Tiy s
determined and assertive demeanor throughout her lifetime with its use of deep grooves and idealized
bone structure. The second sculpture is The Mask of Agamemnon, a gold funeral mask from Shaft
Grave V, Grave Circle A (Stokstad and Cothren). This mask was a symbol used to ensure that King
Agamemnon would have wealth in the afterlife. These sculptures have their differences; however,
both contain a higher message of supernatural supremacy within the afterlife.
Queen Tiy, queen of 18th dynasty Egypt, was the wife of pharaoh Amenhotep III and mother of
Akhenaten (Mark). Many of the pieces showed the riches that Tiy and Amenhotep III gathered during
their 38 year reign. It is said that during this era, Egypt was the most powerful and richest nation in the
region (Mark). A funerary silver headdress covered in gold cobras and jewelry particularly had
previously accompanied this piece of Queen Tiy; however, it was later removed after her son gained
power. This could haven stood as a symbol to the people that while her supremacy had ended, and her

learned their functions. I learned about how they grow from a seed to how they reproduce. Even with
that class, I have always found that plants bring a certain amount of curiosity. I had dreamt many ways
to the perfect yard with all sorts of plant species. The yard would be overflowing with plants. Also, the
house would have so many plants inside that it would be a jungle. The courses required for botany are
very heavy with science. I know that I will be taking fifteen different science classes. I looked forward
to the challenges that each class will bring. During the time in my freshman year, I would like to know
what reading and writing, I will need for botany also known as plant science.
I looked in greater detail into Botany, I came to very interesting details about what my major will
include. I gathered all sorts of facts from different sources about Botany. Plant science is a hand on
very skilled profession. It requires a lot of experience and skills to work in the basic field of it. Botany
is very broad science of plants. Different scientist studies certain parts of plants and their functions.

Bilingual Is The New Black
Bilingual is the New Black
Today we live in an increasingly globalized world. In the United States alone over 60 million people
speak a language other than English when at home (Speaking in Tongues). While most schools require
at least two year of foreign language, this is not really enough to familiarize yourself with a language.
It would not only be in the students best interest to do this, but also the schools as it increases
academic achievement. It also improves your cognitive functions and benefits society. All of these
factors led me to this conclusion: everyone should take at least four years worth of foreign language
classes. Many Americans argue that because English is quickly becoming the global language,
Americans should not have to learn other languages. They are operating under the following
pretenses: there wouldn t possibly be anyone we would want to communicate with that does not speak
English already, other countries should teach their citizens a second language (English) so that they
can communicate with us, and learning another language is only beneficially if it directly influences
us gaining more opportunities. These biases are misguided. Learning another language will benefit
you for your entire life. It will help you through school, improve your mind permanently, and create
opportunities for you and society. Don t conform to the American stereotype. Trust me, it is worth
your while to learn a foreign language. Learning a second language begins

Comparing Plato s And Aristotle s Speculations
Whether the situation involves a child and a parent, or a ruler and a peasant, the stipulation of power is
in pivotal question. The act of governing another can go from as lenient as free range disregard to
complete dominance. These ranges for imposing control changes the outcome of the allowed
contribution in its citizens. Domination over another is never justified, despite Plato s and Aristotle s
speculations, because it does not allow the fulfillment of the individual on a personal and State level.
The pinnacle of an individual means they are able to be the most sound person mentally, physically,
and emotionally onto others, themselves and the State. When they have attended to their personal
needs, they can also effectively and accurately attend to others and issues bigger than themselves. The
individual s fulfillment for themselves cannot be reached under complete control, because they are not
the best person they can be when their wants and needs aren t addressed. Plato and Aristotle aim to
outline a citizen that helps the State to run at its finest, but set their basis under the wrong conditions.
To look at justice in the soul, Plato used the bigger idea of the State to compare it to an individual.
From his reasoning, there s a strong relationship between State and citizen and every person has a role
that contributes to the bigger piece of a whole. Plato, however, doesn t regard the individual s wants
and needs, only the wants and needs of the State. In his utopia,

Quantitative And Quantitative Methods Of Methods
This chapter illustrates the approaches in terms of techniques the study uses in collecting data,
followed with a detailed analysis and the way in which they will be interpreted. The chapter starts with
a brief discussion of how the general research designs for the whole study and its basic layout. After
that, a discussion of previous studies and models that were applied would be present and an
explanation of why this specific qualitative and quantitative study method is employed will be
following, as well as their suitability. Finally, the sources of data and their scope, reliability and their
limitations concerning this study will also be discussed in later this chapter.

A quantitative study on the topic will be on the later part of the paper, with the aim of figuring out the
numerical relationship and correlation between the key variables, and to see if there is an empirically
significant relationship between them. To investigate the hypothesis empirically, this paper uses an up
to date database on key variables including GDP per capita, aid effectiveness, governance indicators,
and net official development assistance (ODA) per capita, which were developed by the World Bank
and OECD.
3.2 Qualitative Research
Qualitative method will be used in this paper, mainly when introducing the research topic, discussing
about the previous studies in the Literature Review, explaining the quantitative research results and
providing conclusion with the respect of the specific Sub Saharan African countries cases. And this
makes it secondary qualitative data .
3.3 Quantitative Research
To answer the research questions mentioned earlier, economic growth would be the dependent
variable, as well as the share of aid in GDP. A number of key explanatory variables will be taken into
consideration in the following part.
In Victor Levy s (1987) study, which concentrates on aid and economic growth in Sub Saharan Africa,

Dsm-5 Classification
One major change in the category of the substance related disorders is that DSM 5 uses an overarching
concept substance use disorder rather than two distinguished concepts in DSM IV, which are
substance abuse and substance dependence. As the diagnostic categorization changed, two sets of
criteria 4 aspects for abuse and 7 aspects for dependence are replaced with a single set of criteria 11
aspects for substance use disorder with 3 levels of severity (mild: 2 3, moderate: 4 5, or severe: 6 or
more) sub classification. The contents of criteria are almost same, however, a criterion of legal
problem is omitted and a new criterion that asks craving to use the specific substance is added.
Another change is that DSM 5 classifies 10 classes of substances in addition to 1 addictive disorder
whereas DSM IV TR recognizes 13 classes of substances. For example, DSM 5 puts together
Amphetamine Related and Cocaine Related Disorders into Stimulant Related Disorders with sub
categories (Amphetamine type, Cocaine, or other stimulants). On the other hand, for almost all
substance induced disorders, the same criteria of intoxication and withdrawal are used in both DSM 5
and DSM IV TR (e.g. Alcohol intoxication, and alcohol withdrawal). Recording Procedure. ... Show

Because sometimes multiple disorders share the same code, clinicians should record the diagnosis by
name as well as the code in the medical record. Furthermore, clinicians should record the name of the
diagnosis with subtype (substance) and all relevant specifiers because, many specifiers and subtypes
in DSM 5 do not have associated with its own code (p.3). For instance, a clinician may indicate a
stimulant user as, [F14.24 Severe cocaine use disorder with cocaine induced depressive disorder, with

Claudia Osborn s Over My Head
The autobiography, Over My Head, by Claudia Osborn, gave a glimpse into the life of a former
Doctor. After suffering a traumatic brain injury, she suffered in many areas of daily life. As I read
through the short period of Claudia s life, many thoughts had gone through my head. My perception of
success was questioned, even my feelings toward my future career as a speech language pathologist
have changed throughout this book. As Claudia and her family went through these trials and
tribulations, I found my self rooting for them, questioning them, and even feeling the frustration as all
of them did. I am aware that most of this is rooted within the feelings of sympathy, and can in no way
imagine the intensity of the emotions felt, Getting a glimpse of Claudia and her loved ones lives has
brought me a step closer to relating to future patients, and their family and friends. The book ... Show

There where times Joan, brought me frustration, relief and ominous anticipation for my future career.
At first, Joan s demeanor toward Claudia s recovery frustrated me. Joan would tell Claudia to use
these certain strategies and that what she was actually unable to do. As Claudia became frustrated so
did I. My thoughts all circled around the idea that Joan has never lived through a traumatic brain
injury, she has no idea what Claudia is going through. It frustrated me that Joan acted as if she
understood what Claudia was going through, when in fact she couldn t even imagine. However after
reading more and through out classes it became apparent that Joan s tough love attitude of
continuously reminding Claudia to be realistic and making her aware of things that she is not able to
do yet was actually helping her to recover and in turn giving her a better quality of life. Although this
part relived me, It did make me think about future clients I may

  • 2. Music And Cinema Music The music selected for silent films is an important process that can affect the audience s experience. Many films rely on music to enhance the action on screen and assist in telling the story. Emilio Audissino places music selection into two basic categories for silent film music: the first being cinema music, which acts as a silence filler for the viewer, and the second is film music, with the goal to assist the film s narrative. For many silent films. the music is primarily cinema music. However, there are some silent films that rely heavily on music to help convey the action on screen. Metropolis (1927) is one such film, which used music scored specifically for it. Gottfried Huppertz began composing the leitmotifs for the score during the early stages of the production of Metropolis. He created each character s leitmotif through interactions with the actors, thus strengthening the music s relationship to the film s story. Audissino writes, He would be on the set to develop the themes for each character as they took form in front of the cameras, and played parts of the music for the actors to bring them into the proper mood. Huppertz s music became an integral part of the film and decades later would assist in its restoration. When his original score was replaced with music from other composers, this affected the film s narrative. Although other scores could convey the general atmosphere of the film, they lacked the specific emotional connections of Huppertz s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Food Proportions Of The United States In the United States there are some stereotypes that come from other countries: outrageous food proportion sizes, extreme sense of nationality, gun obsessions, etc. The food proportions seem to be one of the most popular ones and along with that, the obsession with meat. This borderline obsession with meat has miniscule benefits; however plant based diets are bustling with numerous advantages. A happier body and mind starts with a plant based diet; a healthier body as well as a happy one. Which is exactly why a plant based diet is healthier than it s counterpart. Finish this The United States has an unprecedented record in trying to outrank all others. However, one thing they do not outrank others in is heart disease; though it is the country s leading cause of death. In 2014, there were approximately 614,348 deaths alone from heart disease (CDC). With heart disease there is also high blood pressure; subsequently, high blood pressure is one of the top contributors of heart diseases. In a recent study, the Japanese reviewed this in over 258 cases and came to the conclusion that a plant based diet is associated with lower blood pressure (Vegetarian Times 26). All of the vegetables, fruits, and whole grains attribute to the lower blood pressure, as well as to lower accounts of heart disease. Also, since Americans eat surpluses of meat, huge amounts of cholesterol and TMAO come with it. The average American consumes two to three times over the recommended amount of protein ... Clinton reminds them that he will be there for them for every step of the difficult process. Another way Clinton uses pathos is when he tries to comfort the people who have lost loved ones by saying, You have lost too much, but you have not lost everything. Clinton lets the audience know that they have people that will help them through this hard time and they have the nation behind them: You have certainly not lost America, for we will stand with you for as many tomorrows as it takes. Clinton ultimately reaches his goal of comforting his audience by using ethos and pathos strategies throughout his speech. Clinton s next move was to give advice from someone who had been in a similar situation. Referring to the letters he received after the bombing, Clinton explains that one letter in particular stood out. Clinton gives words of wisdom from a widowed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In India the main religion is Hinduism and Hinduism is influenced by the nature around the country. Christopher G. Framarin proposed his theory on how nature influences India in his journal, The value of nature in India (Hindu) traditions. Through ahimsa Hindu people can achieve moska. However, there are more rules than just being nice to work through the caste system in Hinduism. Even though ahimsa is non harmful there are many strict ideas on what exactly is harmful. Himsa can postpone moska, himsa is the deed of doing harm or injury to another being. In the caste system the way someone can rise up the top and become a divine is for him or her to perform ahimsa deeds and through each reincarnation to step up in the caste. The Hindu s use a form of measurement when figuring out if the move up or down in the system. Every ahima deed someone does it produces a merit and for every himsa deed it produces a demerit. Sutter s Let Us Now Praise Famous Gullies Sutter also wrote in his book, Let Us Now Praise Famous Gullies, that the burden of southern environmental history, then, has been to reintroduce the environment as a casual force while avoiding the determinisms of the past. In short, Sutter is presenting perhaps the biggest problem within environmental history which is environmental determinism. Environmental determinism meaning the idea that this environment is predisposed to act a certain way regardless and there was no way to avoid it. Sutter avoids this way of thinking in his own book, by explaining that Providence Canyon may not have been created if it were not for human interaction with the soil. The fact that religion was a major part in their day to day lives was also evident in their plethora of temples scattered across the southern Balkan Peninsula, some of the most notable being the Temple of Artemis, the Erechtheion, the Temple of Zeus, and the Parthenon. Ancient Greeks sacrificed animals and burnt offerings to appease the gods, and called upon them in time of war. Romans were also polytheistic, adopting many of the gods of Greece and other nearby civilizations (Wasson 1). Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Good Teacher One of the most essential exercises when in comes to professional development as an instructor is to continuously reflect on your perspective, methodology, instruction and behavior within your profession. Doing so ensure that you a growing and improving on teaching skills and building on old strengths to benefit you as an instructor but especially the students that you serve. What is a good teacher? What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves. 1A teachers objective should not be to shape the students as a reflection of that educators image, instead they should see themselves as the medium of which the information in communicated, they should see themselves a person who elevates that students to higher concepts of learning, aspiration and liberation. A good teacher must recognize the strength and weaknesses in skills of the individual and class and reflect on how to leverage strength amongst learners to become successful. A good teacher plans with intention with all these things in mind to communicate the content of lesson to the psyche of the learner. A good educator is transforms themselves and those they serve to reach their loftiest goals. Strengths and Weaknesses The biggest strength I have is to be creative with the situation that I am given. This in not only a skill that suggest that one can synthesize material to give it a sense of authenticity, but also can adapt and accommodate in the moment. Even the best planners can have a poor classroom dynamic; the rigidity of these classes is what prevents them from engaging students in the moment. I genuinely believe in effective planning and mythology but I also believe in breaking from the script and to accommodate the needs of learners in creative ways. The biggest weakness I have is how I present direction of material. I believe that I am an effective communicator but there is always room to grow on communication especially in a classroom that is foreign and does not speak the language taught. Clear, concise instructions are key in building a classroom that functions and transitions smoothly from one activity to another, or one piece of information to the next. If a student does ... I agree that the main reason why Hitler was able to do this was because of the Reichstag Fire in 1933. There were many other reasons other than this such as the Enabling Act, the banning of political parties and trade unions and finally the Night of the Long Knives. The Reichstag fire was the most important why Hitler was able to establish a dictatorship. On the evening of the 27th of February 1933, the Reichstag building was destroyed by a huge fire caused by a Dutch communist supporter called van der Lubbe who was caught at the site of the fire with matches and firelighters. Some SA leaders demanded that the Nazi party should carry out its socialist agenda, and that the SA should take over the army. Hitler couldn t afford to annoy the businessmen or the army. On the 30th of June 1934, Hitler, with the help of the SS, murdered around 400 of the SA members, including its leader Ernst Röhm, along with a number of Hitler s other political opponents. All this was done in just 4 days! The Night of the Long Knives was important. The first reason it was important was because of this, Hitler was given loyalty by the army. Because the army was much smaller than the SA, they feared them a lot. Consequently, many of the Army s leaders asked Hitler to abolish the power of the SA. If he didn t do this, the army warned him that they will put up a candidate to oppose Hitler. The army was also the only organisation that had the power to remove Hitler. The engineer must also work within constraints, such as time and budget. A design brief is a tool that is used to concisely identify the problem, solution expectations, and project constraints. The engineer will often return to the design brief throughout a design process to assess the progress and validity of his or her creative work. Imagine that you are part of that design team. Due to personal biases, incomplete data, or a multitude of other issues, incorrect perceptions about these collapsed societies remain. However, modern studies are beginning to reveal the inaccuracies of those enduring, false notions. It is valuable to compare misunderstandings to the historic reality in addition to discovering why the past happened as it did. Although newer, more factual information will not erase long taught misconceptions about collapsed societies like Jamestown, El Dorado, or the Norse Greenlanders, it provides the chance to better understand historic events in an effort to help guide decisions that could affect the near and distant future. Jamestown has a permanently secured place in American history as the young country s first successful, permanent colony. When the Europeans arrived in 1606 with 104 men and boys hoping to find their riches in the New World, they found a largely empty landscape. Over the next few decades, the Jamestown people were able to thrive while the native populations were dying because the colonists had more advanced technology, Christianity, and European sensibilities. To make matters worse, California vehicle code section 22500 (f) exacerbates Los Angeles congestion as it precludes vehicles from extending over any portion of a sidewalk or onto a street. This situation arises where football clubs unable to pay their debts. Therefore, they went insolvent or in to liquidation. The company shareholders passed the special resolution to put the company in to bankruptcy or liquidation. All process done under the Insolvency Act 1986 , the Bankruptcy and Diligence etc. (Scotland) Act 2007 and Debt Arrangement Scheme (Scotland) regulations 2011. I start with your concerns about the arrestment of your corporeal and incorporeal moveable assets (Possessed by you or in the hands of a third party) by the creditors which you fear they might arrest due to the debts that your club unable to pay. Arrestment procedure set out in s 73A of the Debtors (Scotland) Act 1987( the 1987 Act ) this section provided that an arrestment in execution must follow a decree in respect of the debt due to the creditor and a schedule of arrestment must be served upon the debtor together with debt advice and information. Logos For President 1984 Ronald Reagan for President 1984 The campaign ad Prouder, Stronger, Better is attempting to convince the people of America to vote for Ronald Reagan to serve his second term as the President of the United States. The commercial begins with a speaker telling the audience, It is morning in America... (Tuesday Team, 1984). The speaker then states that people will go to work, move into homes, and get married on that day. The citizens of the United States are also supposedly available to look at the future confidently due to inflation being less than half of what it was four years ago and interest rates being about half the record highs of 1980. The video concludes with the speaker stating that Ronald Reagan s first presidency has made America, Prouder, and stronger, and better, (Tuesday Team, 1984). This commercial is famous and was seen by countless amounts of Americans, but it was not the deciding factor for the election. The reputation Reagan had from his first presidency and attacking his opponent, Walter Mondale, for being a free spending Democrat gave Reagan the advantage in the election. The Development Of New Zealand Art From The 20th Century The development of New Zealand Art from the 20th into the 21st Century New Zealand is home to various great artists who have crafted and created a platform for current, new and upcoming New Zealand artists. Throughout the 19th Century New Zealand artwork was predominantly based around New Zealand s scenery, artists during the 20th Century such as Rita Angus demonstrated through her artworks landscapes and sceneries of New Zealand whereas other New Zealand artists such as Gordon Walters incorporated suitable Maori patterns and styles in his artworks. During the 20th Century it was apparent that New Zealand artists such as Colin McCahon was heavily influenced by international artists and their artworks, adapted the style of cubism and began to use in his own works. In the late 20th Century New Zealand began to acknowledge culture and diversity within the country, it was then a beginning for Maori artists to become common and known of where many would unite European modernism with traditional Maori features together. A notable Maori artist being the late Ralph Hotere, who during his time was New Zealand s highest selling artist. Hotere plays a significant role in not only in New Zealand art history but Maori history too as he broke barriers of being a Maori artist, other current artists such as Shane Cotton and Michael Parekowhai are also important as they are successful modern, Maori artists. Independent Study Report Reducing Number of Infiltration Cycles for La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 YSZ Cathodes Xiaoyan Li Abstract In order to decrease the number of cycles of infiltration and maintain a comparable cathode performance, the viability of using a conductive composite scaffold of La0.8Sr0.2FeO3 and yttria stablized zirconia (YSZ) with one infiltration cycle was investigated. The infiltration material is nitrate salt solution of La, Sr, Co and Fe to form La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite phase. Climate Change As A Threat Multiplier National security, in the 21st century, has shifted from the focus on traditional threats (armed forces) (Siddiqi, 2013) to the integration of new threats and challenges, which have global consequences as the world evolves. Climate change has been increasingly identified as a serious contemporary security threat (McDonald, 2013), nationally and globally, instead of an environmental concern (Dupont Pearman, 2008). This challenge presents a long term global threat, with substantial human, national and transnational security repercussions (Wuebbles, Chitkara Matheny, 2014). Furthermore, Wuebbles et al. (2014) acknowledge climate change as a threat multiplier, seen to exacerbate stresses (i.e. conflict, instability and poverty), enhancing the global importance of the issue as recognised as a critical national security risk. In perceiving climate change as a threat multiplier, this essay will recognise how the issues cumulative progression and consequences interacts with existing security issues, directly and indirectly challenging national security (Brown, Hammill McLeman, 2007). Secondly, the long term risk of climate change will be discussed, analysing the importance of implementing adaptation strategies for risk protection and vulnerability reduction. Finally, being a transnational security threat, global cooperation will be addressed, stressing the importance of internationalism and collaboration to protect against this evolving threat to national and ... This self portrait sculpture depicts Tiy s determined and assertive demeanor throughout her lifetime with its use of deep grooves and idealized bone structure. The second sculpture is The Mask of Agamemnon, a gold funeral mask from Shaft Grave V, Grave Circle A (Stokstad and Cothren). This mask was a symbol used to ensure that King Agamemnon would have wealth in the afterlife. These sculptures have their differences; however, both contain a higher message of supernatural supremacy within the afterlife. Queen Tiy, queen of 18th dynasty Egypt, was the wife of pharaoh Amenhotep III and mother of Akhenaten (Mark). Many of the pieces showed the riches that Tiy and Amenhotep III gathered during their 38 year reign. It is said that during this era, Egypt was the most powerful and richest nation in the region (Mark). It would not only be in the students best interest to do this, but also the schools as it increases academic achievement. It also improves your cognitive functions and benefits society. All of these factors led me to this conclusion: everyone should take at least four years worth of foreign language classes. Many Americans argue that because English is quickly becoming the global language, Americans should not have to learn other languages. They are operating under the following pretenses: there wouldn t possibly be anyone we would want to communicate with that does not speak English already, other countries should teach their citizens a second language (English) so that they can communicate with us, and learning another language is only beneficially if it directly influences us gaining more opportunities. These biases are misguided. Learning another language will benefit you for your entire life. • 44. Comparing Plato s And Aristotle s Speculations Whether the situation involves a child and a parent, or a ruler and a peasant, the stipulation of power is in pivotal question. The act of governing another can go from as lenient as free range disregard to complete dominance. These ranges for imposing control changes the outcome of the allowed contribution in its citizens. Domination over another is never justified, despite Plato s and Aristotle s speculations, because it does not allow the fulfillment of the individual on a personal and State level. The pinnacle of an individual means they are able to be the most sound person mentally, physically, and emotionally onto others, themselves and the State. When they have attended to their personal needs, they can also effectively and accurately attend to others and issues bigger than themselves. The individual s fulfillment for themselves cannot be reached under complete control, because they are not the best person they can be when their wants and needs aren t addressed. Plato and Aristotle aim to outline a citizen that helps the State to run at its finest, but set their basis under the wrong conditions. To look at justice in the soul, Plato used the bigger idea of the State to compare it to an individual.
