Aileen Wuornos Essay
Aileen Carol Wuornos: The Life of a Serial Killer I robbed them, and I killed them as cold as ice, and
I would do it again, and I know I would kill another person because I ve hated humans for a long time.
(Wuornos, 1999 2010) These words came from Aileen Wuornos after she was arrested for the murders
of seven men during the course of a year. She faced numerous adversities from early childhood
through adulthood. She displayed many psychological warning signs, but none was attended too
regardless of her outcries. The course of this paper will outline her upbringing, lifestyle choice,
psychological warning signs, psychological disorders, course of treatment that could have been
undertaken before the killing spree commenced. To ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They found themselves on the street again and Aileen began earning a living by prostituting herself for
money. Overall, her lifestyle only escalated as she hitchhiked in Michigan where she grew up and
participated in drinking, drugs, partying and prostitution. She decided that she would leave and
hitchhike her way on up to Colorado where she continued the same lifestyle. In the midst of the
horrible, unethical lifestyle, she was informed that her grandfather had committed suicide in his
garage. I can only speculate that she felt alone in the world and needed to fill that void. So as she was
Hitchhiking across America, Wuornos arrived in Florida and was presented with a potentially life
changing piece of luck: she met wealthy yacht club president, 69 year old Lewis Fell, who fell in love
with her, and they were married in 1976. Wuornos soon reverted to type, however, and began fighting
in bars, and was sent to jail for assault as a result. Fell was horrified; a brawling bride had no place in
his high society lifestyle, and he had the marriage annulled after a few months. (Aileen Wuornos,
2008) Additionally, Aileen also received word that her brother Keith had passed due to throat cancer.
She was not only devastated, but also alone in the world since he was the only loyal person by her
side. As she had done in the past, she resorted back to her heavy drinking and life of prostitution.
Aileen received ten thousand dollars from her bothers

Essay On Psych Myths
There exists a prevailing myth that psychology is only a soft science. Soft science, indicating that the
practice of psychology is less rigorous, less precise, and, to some degree, less worthy than the hard
sciences chemistry, biology, physics. This study, conducted by Maureen A, McCarthy and Sue Frantz
called Challenging the Status Quo: Evidence that Introductory Psychology Can Dispel Myths ,
attempts to do just that. Their hypothesis was that when given the chance to take an introduction to
psychology course, participants would walk away with enough information to distinguish psych fact
from psych fiction. This would indeed prove how valuable of a science psychology is. In the study,
students enrolled in a community college were placed into two identical introductory psychology
courses. Over the course of the class, instructors taught a number of lessons that addressed popular
myths or stereotypes about human psychology and behavior. These included old adages such as

The unsung hero, John Ross his journey to becoming a Cherokee Indian Chief standing up against the

Introduction
The Cherokees had a strong leader who had not yet given up the fight. They were led by the wily,
tough and determined John Ross, a blue eyed, brown haired mixed blood who was only one eighth
Cherokee. Nonetheless, he was the Principal Chief and the most powerful force within the nation.
(Remini, R. 2001) This is only one account of the infamous leader of the Cherokee Indians in the
migration out of their homelands to what is now known as Oklahoma. This historical essay will

The Academic Calendar Of The Philippines Essay
John Ashley N. Capellan S10 24 October 2016
The academic calendar in the Philippines should be reverted back to June
Definition of Academic calendar Oxford dictionary defines the term academic calendar as the
schedule of events occurring in an academic year. This includes term times, examination dates, school
activities and many others.
A Glimpse of the Current Situation, The Policy, and Objectives of this Paper The Philippines, which is
a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), is the only country that follows
the June March academic calendar, after Thailand shifted its academic calendar last 2011. In order for
the universities and schools to become global, they will change their calendars from June March to
August May (for some universities, other universities choose September June). This is not only to
respond to the competencies for the international market, but also to maximize the opportunities in the
ASEAN. This policy argues that the academic calendar in the Philippines should be reverted back to
June March calendar. Implementation of this policy will ensure the independence and will give way
towards good quality in the academic standards of the country in relation to the needs of the people.
The people affected in this policy are the administrators, professors, teachers, staff, students, parents,
and prospective foreign academic investors. The main objective of this paper is to explain why the

The Epidemic Of Today s Culture
This generation s culture is toxic for today s youth. It is known that today s generation is definitely
less respectful and more technology friendly than any other generation, but now it is affecting the
mental and physical health of kids across the country. To know how today s culture is ruining
childhood it is a good thing to understand how technology, fast food, and marketing is playing a part
in affecting children every where and to protect them from these things. First of all, data shows that
75% of young people reported seeing people kissing or having sex in TV shows or movies they ve
watched. The data conducted showed that 69% of young people have listened to sexual music. 19%
played games with sexual activity and 25% found sexual material ... Show more content on

Technology, fast food, and marketing are playing a role in that. Technology is causing a strain on kids
innocence because 75% of them admit to seeing sexual or inappropriate things on the shows they ve
watched or websites they ve visited. In addition, child obesity has doubled in the past decade because
of the increase of things like fast food restaurants or unhealthy snacks being purchased for the kids.
Finally, marketing tactics can impact the mental and physical health of kids in America. Obesity has
been linked to marketing because of all the sugary products being advertised directly to children.
Overall, pinpointing the reasons why this generation s kids are not only more stressed but less
healthier is hard, but starting with the basics like technology and food and even advertisements can
help adults figure out a way to protect their kids from this toxic

Sabrina Carpenter says that it s like breathing in the salty air on a private island just for me. Huey

how love makes you feel and how powerful love actually is. Singers, writers, and poets have talked
about love since anyone can remember. Everyone feels love and were the power of love has affected
everyone. In The Bearer of Evil Things Robert Frost uses imagery, the main character s choices and
the acceptance of the main character to show that love leads people astray but in the end always saves
them.
Frost starts out by setting up a man, the bearer of evil things, on a journey to do the obvious: bear evil
things. But Frost says that he remembers or realizes that evil tidings are dangerous. The man comes to
a parting and has to make a choice. Frost writes, Where one road led to the throne/And one went off to

saying here is that the women did not even think about taking him in because she fell in love with him.
The man doesn t think twice about continuing running whether because of exhaustion or love for the
girl. Then the man decides to adopt the race and Frost says , They had both of them had their
reasons/For stopping where they had stopped. (lines 39 40) The reason they stopped was because of
love. The man stopped because he fell in love with the tribe and the woman.
In The Bearer of Evil Things Robert Frost uses imagery, the main character s choices, and the
acceptance of the main character to show that love leads people astray but in the end is a saving
power. Everyone encounters love every day whether we realize it or not, the love still impacts how

Strengths And Weaknesses That Are Essential In A...
In his research Rogers identified six elements which are necessary in a counselling relationship for
therapeutic change or growth to occur. Three of these elements are closely associated with the
personal qualities which the counsellor brings to their relationship with clients. These are now
famously referred to as the core conditions. The first of these core conditions is empathy, which has
been described as the ability to feel what it s like to walk in someone else s shoes, and is very different
from sympathy, as this touching animation explains. The second condition is referred to as
Unconditional Positive Regard (UPR) and it is perhaps closely related to unconditional love. UPR is

Tradition and Ritual in Judiasm Essay
The purpose of this research paper will be to examine how Judaism rituals have helped the religion
remained amongst the most prominent in the world. The use of tradition and rituals has been at the
very core of its existence. Birth, adolescent, marriage and death rituals will be used to highlight how
the Judaism way of life is not dependent on the written word but rather the actions of those who
follow this historic Hebrew religion. The paper will begin with a brief outline of Judaism and its
relationship with God and then continue with how the written word of the Torah has laid the basis for
the many traditions still practiced in Judaism.

Some Jews believe God contains the universe while others believe the universe is God. This non
congruency of belief as to who or what is God has led followers of Judaism to have many names for
God or as often found in Jewish literature a reluctance to even write the word God.
What is his name? what shall I say to then? God said to Moses, `I AM
WHO I AM
Torah
It is extremely difficult for the average person to understand how a religion that cannot agree on a
name for their God could survive. The survival of Judaism for almost 4,000 years with half of its
history existing without a homeland, a temple or a common geographical location can be credit to
their teaching of the Torah. The word Torah is derived from the verb to guide or to teach 3.
Historically Judaism has survived by the older generation teaching the younger generation the heart of
their faith carried and communicated through the way, the path and the teachings of the Torah.
Torah technically refers to the first five books of the Hebrew Bible. These five books are called
Chumash and are divided into 54 portions called a parashah. At least one portion is read in the
synagogues each week. The readings give to each member of the synagogue the basis for their life
practices of the week.
This set of practices is called the Way of Life. The practices and the way the individual connects to
God are called mitzvah. The word itself

Symptoms And Treatment Of Alzheimer s Disease
There are many diseases and disorders in the world that can attack a human s body and destroy certain
organ systems in the process. In this paper, you will learn about a particular disease that has been
studied by many scientists and doctors for decades. Research hospitals such as Mayo Clinic and John
Hopkins University have studied Alzheimer s disease in order to come to conclusions on what the
disease is and what can cure the disease. This disease can cause critical damage to a human s body
from the symptoms to the treatment that is followed by the diagnosis. In the following paper, we will

In the early stages of the disease the symptoms usually begin to occur when the patient has more
memory loss and confusion than what is considered normal for their age. Also, the beginning stages
tend to show milder symptom behaviors and can typically be overlooked causing later discovery of the
disease. As previously stated, memory loss is the first sign of dementia and an example would be not
remembering where you placed your keys or how to properly get dressed. It begins with the easier
tasks that become difficult for everyday functioning. Mild Alzheimer s disease involves increased
memory loss, wandering or getting lost, repeating questions, taking longer to complete daily tasks, and
changes in personality. In the mild stage a patient is commonly diagnosed. Moderate Alzheimer s
disease occurs when the disease begins to progress. In this stage, the brain has a hard time with
controlling language, forming reasoning, sensory process, and conscious thoughts. In the moderate
stage it becomes tougher on the ones close to the patients due to the fact that it becomes harder and
harder for the patient to recognize and learn new things. Severe Alzheimer s disease is when plaques
and tangles spread through the patient s brain, brain tissue shrinks tremendously, communication is
eliminated, and care is necessary. At this stage of Alzheimer s the patient becomes bed ridden and is at
the end stage. As a result of the symptoms, functioning as a normal person becomes impossible and a

2008 Financial Crisis Analysis
The financial crisis of 2008/2009 was the most serious economic decline since 1929. This paper will
discuss a few of the causes of the crisis, the role the Federal Reserve played in connection with the
three main economic goals, and will then describe traditional and non traditional measures taken to
stimulate the economy. Finally, this essay will relate the government to our present day economic
environment and explain why some economists say that the United States is experiencing a new

The economic and financial crisis of 2008/2009 can be attributed to many things. The main reason for
the crisis can be attributed to the housing industry and the mortgages associated. When individuals

This caused lenders to reduce their standards, giving loans to those who had poor credit and low
income. Predatory lending practices were also used, giving out loans without verifying income.
Additionally, adjustable rate mortgages were offered, which offered payment homeowners could
manage to pay for at first, but expanded beyond what they could continue to pay for. Since these
practices were new, historical data showed that mortgage debt was a safe investment. Investors
continued to dump money into these investments while realistically, these investments were becoming
more risky. (Wallison)
Due to all the investments being made, careless lending requirements, and low interest rates within the
real estate market, housing prices continued to increase. Finally, borrowers started defaulting on these
loans, putting more houses on the market. However, there were not many buyers. Housing prices
began to fall since supply was up and demand was down. Often, mortgages became worth more than
their house was worth. By 2007, large lenders were declaring bankruptcy. They had invested large
amounts of money into the Mortgage Backed Securities and were losing money on these investments.

Essay on Overview of the Enron Scandal
Enron Corporation was an energy company founded in Omaha, Nebraska. The corporation chose
Houston, Texas to home its headquarters and staffed about 20,000 people. It was one of the largest
natural gas and electricity providers in the United States, and even the world. In the 1990 s, Enron was
widely considered a highly innovative, financially booming company, with shares trading at about $90
at their highest points. Little did the public know, the success of the company was a gigantic lie, and
possibly the largest example of white collar crime in the history of business. The roots of the lies start

All these factors lead to figures that were less than what Ken Lay promised, and even started posting
losses by the second quarter of 1997. These less than stellar numbers did not discourage company
executives, and Enron continued to spend foolishly on advertisement and lobbying for deregulation.
All of the prior represents the business side of the downfall of Enron. That being said, businesses fail
all of the time. The reason why Enron Corporation and its executives will always live in infamy is not
because the company failed, but how and why the company failed. How, exactly, does a company
worth about $70 million collapse in less than a month? It became clear that the company not only had
financial problems, but ethical problems that started from the top of the company and trickled down. A
key player in these problems was Jeffrey Skilling. He was a man brought to the company by Ken Lay
himself. Skilling brought his own accounting concept to the company. It was called mark to market
accounting. This concept allowed Enron to record potential profits the day a deal was signed. This
meant that the company could report whatever they thought profits from the deal were going to be and
count the number towards actual profits, even if no money actually came in. Mark to market
accounting granted Enron the power to report major profits to the public, even if they were little or
even negative. It became a major way

The Boy Who Cried Wolf By B. G. Hennessy
Don t Lie to your Parents It s bad enough when you lie to your parents but its worse when you lie to
them about not going to church. I learned that you should not lie to your parents because no one
believes a liar. No one likes a liar because you never know if they are telling the truth. There is a story
about this called The Boy Who Cried Wolf by B.G. Hennessy where we learn that liars are never
trusted. After what happened a few weeks ago my parents won t trust me to go out with friends again.
It was an ordinary weekend. I woke up Saturday morning and went to work. After work I could go
home and do anything I felt like doing. Around 8 my friend Carlos texted me and asked if I wanted to
come over and spend the night. So at 9 when my dad and sister got home from shopping I went over
to his house. My dad said I can go over and spend the night as long as I went to church with my friend

Football Vs Basketball Compare And Contrast
The first basketball game ever played was in 1891 and the first American football game was played in
1869. Ever since then, American football and basketball are among two of the most liked and watched
sports in the United States. Even though both sports are completely different in general, they are
similar in many ways also. Both sports are excellent sports to watch and play, but some people may
prefer one over another. Throughout this essay, I will discuss similarities and differences between
football and basketball, such as regulations, scoring, teams and how the game. To begin, football and
basketball have many differences. One being that football consists of eleven players on the field per

In football, the lowest you can score is two points, which is known as a safety. The highest you can
score is six points, which is known as a touchdown. The game is played on a 100, 120 if you include
both end zones, yard field of artificial turf with two goal posts opposite from each other. In order to
score, you must either throw or run the ball across the field. You are given four downs, per ten yard
intervals, to move the ball. The goal is to move beyond the required amount so your play count resets
and you can move further down the field increasing your chance of scoring. The possession of the ball
can be changed by an interception of the ball, or once the defense stops the offensive team forcing
either a turnover, or a punt. Unlike football, basketball is played on a 94 by 50 foot wood court. There
are three ways to score points; a free throw which is equal to one point, a two point shot (inside the
outer ring), and a three point shot (outside the outer ring). To score, you can either pass or dribble the
ball until you free of the defender and have a chance for a lay up or shot. While basketball is primarily
played indoors on a wood court, football is mostly played in the outdoors on the

The Lion King Character Analysis
What s In A Character?
The Lion King is best known of its ironic characters. From Simba to Zazu, everyone has a favourite.
Let s take a look at the characters in the order that they appear in the film.
Zazu
As the king s majordomo it is his job to see to everything in the name of the king. Seen as bossy and
highly organised, Zazu is an early babysitter to Simba and Nala at the beginning of the film when
Sarabi tells Simba and Nala they can go to the watering hole as long as Zazu goes with them.
Best Quote:
Didn t your mother ever tell you not to play with your food?
What is great about Zazu is that he is also comic relief and is one to tell the villains where to stick it
while almost becoming a victim.
Mufasa
The father of Simba and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, his apparent nonsense is actually based on wisdom.
Sarabi
Even though we don t see much of Sarabi in the film, she still plays an important role. She is Mufasa s
mate/wife, the mother of Simba and the sister in law of Scar.
She is seen to maternal, kind and doesn t like it when Scar takes poorly about Mufasa after his death.
Her treatment at the paws of Scar is disciple and this prompts Simba to reveal himself to Scar when
his uncle hits Sarabi for standing up to him.
Best Quote:
It s over! There is nothing left! We have only one choice: We must leave Pride Rock!
Sarabi was meant to play a role in The Lion King 2 but because of her actress s death, they wrote her
character out without so much as to an explanation as to what happened to her.
Simba
Simba first makes his appearance as a cub laying in the paws of his mother, Sarabi. He is then
presented to the kingdom as the heir of Pride Rock.
Over the course of the film, Simba goes from being a cub determined to be a king to a young adult
wanting nothing to do with his past because of what happened to his father. He believed for years that
he was the one responsible for his father s death only to learn that it was his uncle s fault that his
father had died. This set him on a path of redeeming not just himself but the kingdom in which he was
born to lead.
Best Quote:
But, Zazu, you told me they are nothing but slobbery, mangy stupid poachers.
What is vastly unique about Simba is that he

Essay On Houston Environmental Issues
The City of Houston is a beautiful city that is known for its bayous, multiculturalism and its
importance to the US space program. It has also been known for its poor air quality with the city
ranking in the top 10 worst cities for air population in the United States, which is primarily due to the
most important industries to Houston economy the Houston Ship Channel and the oil and gas
industries.
Over the past couple of years a new environmental issue has taken place illegal dumping, which is
astoundingly different than the environmental issues that the City of Houston has been commonly
known for, although it has devastating effect. In, fact what is rather unusual for this issue unlike the
issues of air pollution the oil and gas industry has little to no involvement with creating the issue.
While the city of Houston and Galveston had created guidelines for handling illegal dumping in 1999
the need to address this issue returned in early 2015. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reviewing The Supreme Court Of Canada Case
Analyzing the Supreme Court of Canada Case:
Carter v. Canada (Attorney General) the Death with Dignity Case
The appellants Lee Carter, Hollis Johnson and Gloria Taylor joined with other appellants to bring the
civil claim which is against the prohibition on assisted suicide found in s. 14 and s. 241 (b) of the
Criminal Code (Carter, para. 20). The same issue which was brought in Rodriguez v. British Columbia
20 years ago was declared to be constitutional. In this case, ultimately Lee Carter s appeals succeeded.
The Law Before the Ruling According to s. 14 and s. 214 (b) of the Canada Criminal Code, the law
criminalized the person who aids another person to commit suicide and it banned the death inflicted
on that person. In short, these provisions did not allow a person to seek a physician assisted death,
regardless of being suffered intolerably from a serious or incurable disease (Carter, para.1).
Questions Before the Court
 Whether the Criminal Code provisions prohibiting physician assisted dying found in s. 241 (b)
violates the claimants rights to life, liberty and security (s.7) and rights to equal treatment (s. 15) of the
Charter (Carter, para.29, 40).
 Whether the prohibition is justified under s.1 of the Canadian Charter (Carter, para.2).
 Whether the trial judge was bound by stare decisis in Rodriguez (Carter, para.28, 42).
 Whether the prohibition accorded with the principle of fundamental justice (Carter, para. 70).
 Whether the prohibition is rationally

Xerox Inxight Parc Spin Off
Introduction Mohan Trikha had a vision to maximize the value of two of Xerox PARC technologies:
visualization and linguistics, both which were 20 years in the making. Trikha attempted to embed
these technologies in as many applications as possible through the creation of a Xerox New Enterprise
(XNE), Inxight. His objective was to demonstrate to the Xerox management team through a business
plan, the feasibility and profitability of such a spin out, as well as the validity in its creation to support
Xerox s long term strategic goals. Trikha needed to assess the impact of recent developments that may

Research on visualization and linguistic technology were both conducted at Xerox s PARC for a
period of 20 years. The visualization technology team was led by one of the top 1% Xerox
researchers, Stu Card. His recent decision to stay in the more academic environment of PARC, instead
of joining Inxight, opened a large gap in Inxight s technical expertise front. PARC s visualization
technology has gone through many phases, from point and click graphical user interface (GUI),
widgetization to the Focus+Context/fisheye technique. Finally, in 1995, Intel funded PARC s
visualization project, Web Forager , a visualization tool that would facilitate the sorting of large
quantities of data on the Internet. No further development was made after this venture as the team
lacked the direction necessary for proceeding beyond the initial stage. Similarly, linguist technology
was a research project in the PARC since the late 1970 s. A total of 40 patents were yielded from
Xerox s collective research in linguistics. Xerox s search built upon substantial academic research.
Language structure in the technology was represented by advanced mathematics, finite state

technologies. Further, research development in the 80 s led to efficient compression of linguistic

Once upon a time there was a young Vietnamese girl who was beautiful and loved by everyone,
especially her grandmother. When she turned fifteen, her grandmother gave her a bright white silk Ao
Dai. It was the most elegant dress in all of Vietnam, so she wore it to school everyday. Even though
every other girl worn similar white Ao Dai s, she was given the name Little White Bride. One day
before school, her mother asked her to bring her grandmother the honeycomb cake they made the
night before, but she knew the journey would be dangerous. Her mother warned her of the hostile men
that would go to any lengths to get a girl to get into a van with them, so men in China could have
beautiful young brides. However the girl was brave, maybe a little too brave, and shrugged it off. So
she left her house with the cake and her schoolbooks and started her walk into the country. Her
grandmother lived only fifteen minutes away near the rice fields, so she didn t feel a need to rush. As
she walked past an abandoned field, a young boy who looked about the same age as her was riding up
behind her on a rickety old bike. He was coming straight towards her with a surprised look on his face.
He slowed down and said You know how dangerous it is for a girl of your age and beauty to be out

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Adoption
The social issue I have chosen is pet adoption and why people should choose this way of finding an
animal companion, as opposed to buying one. This is an issue because across the United States, there
is an overpopulation or mistreatment of dogs and cats every day. Animal shelters take in these animals
and care for them as much as they can. Animal shelter intakes are anything from those picked up by an
animal control, surrendered by owners, or rescued from reports of animal cruelty. In the United States,
approximately 5 12 million companion animals enter animal shelters annually and approximately 1 4
million of these are euthanized. The Wood County Humane Society, located in Bowling Green, OH, is
one of the several shelters that care for animals in need of help.
There are many reasons why so many animals are in need of adoption, the main concerns being:
breeding facilities, puppy mills, and strays. The breeders profit at an animal s expense because for
every animal bred, an animal in a shelter loses its chance of finding a home. Inbreeding can also cause
painful and even life threatening health effects to the animals and while some breeders sell healthy,
well treated animals, other breeders may be abusive. Another reason is puppy mills, or commercial
dog breeding facilities, in which the health and welfare of the animals are not the main priority. There
are an estimated 10,000 mills in the US, producing about 2 million puppies each year. The last main
reason is the

Literature Of Greek Literature
Greek literature is an assortment of compositions in the Greek dialect, with a constant history reaching
out from the first thousand years B.C.E to the present day. From the earliest starting point, journalists
were Greeks living in Greece, as well as in Asia Minor, the Aegean Islands, and Magna Graecia
(Sicily and southern Italy). After the successes of Alexander the Great, Greek turned into the main
language of the eastern Mediterranean and the Byzantine Realm. Writing in Greek was created over a
substantially more extensive range as well as by those whose primary language was not Greek. Over a
period of over ten centuries, the ancient Greeks made their writing of such brightness that it has
infrequently been met and never outperformed. In poetry, tragedy, drama, and history, Greek writers
made gems that have roused, and affected readers to today.
The Greeks wrote Poetry before they made utilization of writing for literary purpose, and from the
earliest starting point their poetry was planned to be sung or presented. Writing was little known
before the 7th century. The content utilized as a part of Crete and Mycenae during the second thousand
years bc isn t known to have been utilized for other than authoritative purposes, and after the
destruction of the Mycenaean cities it had been forgotten.
Normally, an epic poem is a long, serious, poetic story about a noteworthy occasion, frequently
highlighting a legend. Prior to the advancement of composing, epic poems were

In my own opinion the transfer price that Kamp should insist on for the Type 2A engine now is €3450
per unit. This is using the principle of the minimum transfer price which is the variable cost plus the
profit if it sells its engines externally then adds the cost of €200 of developing the Type 2A engine.
However in the future the price may increase because fixed cost will be added as capacity may
become a problem with the expected rise of demand for cars and engines, and also if Kamp is allowed
to sell externally the type 2, 3, and 4 engines, so the price in the future should be €4750.
The proposed transfer price now is also lower than the expected prices from Black and FER so it
should not be a problem with Guy Mercier who is pressuring Kamp to sell the engine at a reasonable
price so that he can raise profit and bonus for his division.
Problem No. 2
Please discuss the possibilities of increasing Kamp s profit by using the formula for basic cost per unit
and by reorganizing. Please use a concrete example to indicate how the board of Kamp can manipulate
the unit costs for the types 2, 3, and 4 by reorganizing its cost information system. How, do you think,
can the boards of the Vecu concern and the MB division determine whether Kamp manipulates data on
unit costs?

Kamp usually supply 4 types of engines, type 2, 3

Characteristics Of Fujio Mitarai
2.0 Analysis
2.1 Personality traits of Fujio Mitarai
Personality is often described in terms of traits. It is a combination of traits that classifies an individual

personalities. It classifies traits into five dimensions: surgency/dominance, agreeableness, adjustment,
conscientiousness, and openness to experience (Achua and Lussier, 2013).

In 1995, Mitarai was faced with some very tough choices after he took over leadership of the
company. A traditional Japanese leader would probably have adopted a laissez faire approach and just
hoped to weather the storm. But Mitarai adopted an autocratic approach. Autocratic leadership is not

US enable Mitarai to know clearly that his key challenge was to return the company to profitability.
Therefore, he was merciless in axing unprofitable parts of the business.
This decision is made without any form of consultation. Based on Lewin s experiments, this may

Analysis of Jonathan Swift´s A Modest Proposal Essay
Poverty has been a problem not only in Texas or the United States, but all over the world. Many types
of individuals have addressed this topic for years, raised money, volunteered, but still, as much as
there s said and done, the issue hasn t been fazed a bit. From Jonathan Swift s Modest Proposal, he
clarifies the poverty issued throughout Ireland in the early 1700 s and how one suggestion could
change it all. Elaborated from the Literary Reference Center, A Modest Proposal, like Gulliver s

As the audience continues to read The Modest Proposal, they see that maybe he isn t joking, that he
really wants to eat the babies and start a new fashion trend. To make things more believable, he states
times of the year when the babies are just right, they re not too done or underdone. Swift specifies that
the little ones fattened up would be delicacies at banquets, christenings, or any special celebration.
From the book itself, Swift states that, The skin that is left from the infants carcasses could be used for
ladies gloves and men s boots... the carcasses can be sold for a decent price to any and all. Many
kings, queens, higher lords, and upper class take this proposal as a suitable option. Some even tended
to make breeding farms for women to make scrumptious little darlings over and over again until their
time of birthing was done. Did this really happen, you say? Did it even fall through and decrease
poverty?
All in all, Swift addressed the issue in a way that no one would have thought. In the end, he wasn t
being serious about harvesting the little ones and digesting them, but simply letting everyone open
their eyes and see what was going around in their small community of Ireland. Some might say Swift
was sick, crazy, but he was simply genius. Using this strategic option created ways for people to set

FIFA must lead by example, they need to become more active in demonstrating the core value of
leadership. How can we expect the football world to make the right decisions and to be honest in their
ways of business if the main organization of football isn t doing so themselves? Lastly, we believe
FIFA needs to master the core value of maturity. If we are expecting maturity when it comes to how
players handle a bad call on the field, then we should also expect it of the largest organization of the
sport itself, FIFA. If something were to go wrong in the future, whether it is with a player, board
member, vice president, etc., FIFA should be mature about the situation and handle it properly and
correct it. They should not let it slide or look the other away. In light of recent events that put the
reputation of FIFA into question, our goal is to bring reforms that will restore FIFA as an organization
built on honesty and friendly competition.
In order to combat the alleged corruption throughout FIFA, our first objective is to create a
decentralized system of authority. To do this, we first want to create a complete separation between the
management that deals with the commercial aspect of FIFA and those who make executive decisions
within FIFA. By doing this we believe that the temptation and occurrence of corruption will be
decreased because those who work to create commercial deals and handle the bidding

The word yoga comes from yuj in sanskrit, which means unity or Yoke the relative meaning is to
concentrate attention or use . Asana is one of the most significant tools of yoga helping to position the
body in various positions with the total participation of the mind and self to establish communication
between our inner and outer self (Iyengar, 2001). Yoga practices assume a critical part in the support
of human systems. Yoga perfect builds up the body as well as produces intellectual capacities.
Moreover, yogis procure dominance of the involuntary muscles of their body (A.M. Moorthy and J.
David Manual Raju, 1983). In this study we try to discover the effects of aerobic dance and yogic
practice on blood lipid profiles among university students. Yoga provides techniques (physically,
mentally, intellectually and emotionally) for this growth. These techniques are also therapeutically
useful for many of the stress related problems. Sound health is an adjusted advancement of a person s
identity and enthusiastic dispositions, empowering him to live in harmony with his condition. It is

would make it to where the 140,000 frontline soldiers could be trained in the field of rifleman in just a
matter of days instead of weeks or months, making it a possibility and not a wild fantasy to have all

Taking a Look at the Tertiary Period
The Tertiary Period began 65 million years ago and ended just 1.8 million years ago. It was made up
of 5 different epochs. Paleocene epoch that was 65 to 54 million years ago. Eocene epoch that was 54
to 38 million years ago. Oligocene epoch 38 to 24 million years ago. Miocene epoch 24 to 5 million
years ago. Pliocene epoch 5 to 1.8 million years ago.
Tertiary is the third era. During the Tertiary period placement of the continents were different than
were they are located today. There were only the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and the Indian Ocean.
Continents were North America, Greenland, northern Europe, Asia, and Iberia. Climate change from
the beginning to end was very significant. During the beginning the earth was warm and moist
compared to the weather now. By the middle of the period earth started to cool. This was cause by
volcanoes that kept giving off carbon dioxide. After a while by the end of this period it was so cold
that the last ice age had started. However this had to be the most important time period for mammals.
The time period before Tertiary which was the Cretaceous period. The Cretaceous period ended with
the extinction of dinosaurs, large reptiles, and many different others. After all the extinction of the
other animals mammals became the dominant species on Earth. This is why the Tertiary Period is
called the age of mammals. There are to unusual mammals that we have researched on from this
period that were

What Is The Singular Effect In The Fall Of The House Of Usher
Abbey Matties 9 13 17 The Fall of the House of Usher shows the audience that fear can be very
powerful. Not only does it scare us, it can reveal the outcomes that we dread. Poe uses the characters,
setting, and mood of the story to achieve the singular effect of gloom. Every single detail throughout
the story adds to the effect of gloom. Characters, setting, and the mood all contribute greatly to the
singular effect, because of the descriptive words that Poe uses to describe them to the audience during
the story. Now we can discuss and give evidence how these three things take part in the singular
effect. Poe uses characters to express his singular effect of gloom by how he describes them to the
audience. Instead

A Clean Well Lighted Place By Ernest Hemingway
How has your understanding of the concept of belonging been shaped by the representation of
relationships and events that you have encountered in the texts you have studied for the Area of Study:
Belonging?
Belonging requires an individual to build a connection with another person or group over time, these
connections are often developed through shared experience and understanding. Peter Skrzynecki s
poems; Feliks Skrzynecki (1975) and Migrant Hostel (1975) offer various perspectives and
representations on this concept. Ernest Hemingway s short story A clean well lighted place (1926) and
the picture Berlin Wall by unknown (1973) compliment these perspectives and representations further.
A lack of shared events and time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The younger waiter believes he has no regard for those who have to work. On the contrary the older
waiter also doesn t belong to a family and attempts to explain he stays up because he likes it it s clean
and well lighted the light acting as a metaphorical parallel to the comfort the café offers in his
otherwise dark life. Seeing as the older waiter understands him he does his best to make the customer
feel he belongs and build a relationship with him. He realises that not everyone shares the same
perspective realising it s not only a question of youth but in this case a question of lack of
relationships allowing sympathy and explaining his actions.
Migrant Hostel , gives the responder a perspective of the plight of migrants and the trouble they face
in building relationships due to the events in their past and the lack of understanding in the world
around them. The metaphor of the barrier at the main gate... Pointed in reprimand or shame
demonstrates how their housing affects them. A person cannot belong if they feel shamed, furthermore
they consider themselves birds of passage with constant comings and goings. The constantly
fluctuating events in their life results in an in ability to form relationships as they have in adequate
time to form them, hindering belonging. Despite this shared memories of hunger and hate allowing
some belonging, the alliteration emphasises the hardship of

Langston Hughes I Too Essay
Hughes famous poem, I, Too, was written in the mid 1920 s. Similar to most African Americans
pioneers in this era, he felt strongly about racial segregation, (Ilieva and Lennox 1) or racial inequality
and used his writings to voice his opinion on the issue. In I, Too, Hughes states that he is the darker
brother (713) of America, meaning that he is a member of the African American community. At this
particular time, racial inequality was a common issue for African Americans. Jim Crow laws were in
effect to keep African Americans from receiving equal treatment as White Americans. Further
evaluating stanza two from I, Too, Hughes says They send me to eat in the kitchen when company
comes (713) showing a time of racial inequality. Along

Persuasive Essay On National Park Service
The National Park Service of the United States of America was established by congress on August
25th, 1916 to provide for the enjoyment of same in such manner and by such means as will leave them
unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations (Abbey, 55). Since then, the National Parks
Service has done all it can to deface, commercialize and dishearten our most precious resource of the
spirt; wilderness. Men like Ansel Adams and John Muir preached to congress encouraging them to
leave these lands unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations but over a short period of time an
emphasis on accessibility and services has taken away the unspoiled beauty, leaving it forever
tarnished by the engineering of man. We as citizens must reclaim our sacred wild places and in the
name of preservation declare their protection from cultural progress. Look at any National Park and
you ll see the destruction. Take Yellowstone; within four hundred yards of the Old Faithful Geyser you
will find three inns (one of which has 327 rooms), a ranger s station, a medical clinic, three
restaurants, a post office, three gift shops, two grocery stores, two gas stations, a fire station, a visitor s
center, a movie theater, a large parking lot and four dorms (to house the villages workers). This village
isn t just near Old Faithful, it s been built around it, choking the life out of the spectacle. Consider the
experience had by the first white men (or any of the native cultures who were aware

In the midst of the horrible, unethical lifestyle, she was informed that her grandfather had committed suicide in his garage. I can only speculate that she felt alone in the world and needed to fill that void. So as she was Hitchhiking across America, Wuornos arrived in Florida and was presented with a potentially life changing piece of luck: she met wealthy yacht club president, 69 year old Lewis Fell, who fell in love with her, and they were married in 1976. Wuornos soon reverted to type, however, and began fighting in bars, and was sent to jail for assault as a result. Fell was horrified; a brawling bride had no place in his high society lifestyle, and he had the marriage annulled after a few months. (Aileen Wuornos, 2008) Additionally, Aileen also received word that her brother Keith had passed due to throat cancer. She was not only devastated, but also alone in the world since he was the only loyal person by her side. As she had done in the past, she resorted back to her heavy drinking and life of prostitution. This study, conducted by Maureen A, McCarthy and Sue Frantz called Challenging the Status Quo: Evidence that Introductory Psychology Can Dispel Myths , attempts to do just that. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In football, the lowest you can score is two points, which is known as a safety. The highest you can score is six points, which is known as a touchdown. The game is played on a 100, 120 if you include both end zones, yard field of artificial turf with two goal posts opposite from each other. In order to score, you must either throw or run the ball across the field. You are given four downs, per ten yard intervals, to move the ball. The goal is to move beyond the required amount so your play count resets and you can move further down the field increasing your chance of scoring. The possession of the ball can be changed by an interception of the ball, or once the defense stops the offensive team forcing either a turnover, or a punt. Unlike football, basketball is played on a 94 by 50 foot wood court. There are three ways to score points; a free throw which is equal to one point, a two point shot (inside the outer ring), and a three point shot (outside the outer ring). To score, you can either pass or dribble the ball until you free of the defender and have a chance for a lay up or shot. • 30. The Pros And Cons Of Animal Adoption The social issue I have chosen is pet adoption and why people should choose this way of finding an animal companion, as opposed to buying one. This is an issue because across the United States, there is an overpopulation or mistreatment of dogs and cats every day. Animal shelters take in these animals and care for them as much as they can. Animal shelter intakes are anything from those picked up by an animal control, surrendered by owners, or rescued from reports of animal cruelty. In the United States, approximately 5 12 million companion animals enter animal shelters annually and approximately 1 4 million of these are euthanized. The Wood County Humane Society, located in Bowling Green, OH, is one of the several shelters that care for animals in need of help. There are many reasons why so many animals are in need of adoption, the main concerns being: breeding facilities, puppy mills, and strays. The breeders profit at an animal s expense because for every animal bred, an animal in a shelter loses its chance of finding a home. Inbreeding can also cause painful and even life threatening health effects to the animals and while some breeders sell healthy, well treated animals, other breeders may be abusive. Another reason is puppy mills, or commercial dog breeding facilities, in which the health and welfare of the animals are not the main priority. There are an estimated 10,000 mills in the US, producing about 2 million puppies each year. The last main reason is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Literature Of Greek Literature Greek literature is an assortment of compositions in the Greek dialect, with a constant history reaching out from the first thousand years B.C.E to the present day. From the earliest starting point, journalists were Greeks living in Greece, as well as in Asia Minor, the Aegean Islands, and Magna Graecia (Sicily and southern Italy). After the successes of Alexander the Great, Greek turned into the main language of the eastern Mediterranean and the Byzantine Realm. Writing in Greek was created over a substantially more extensive range as well as by those whose primary language was not Greek. Over a period of over ten centuries, the ancient Greeks made their writing of such brightness that it has infrequently been met and never outperformed. In poetry, tragedy, drama, and history, Greek writers made gems that have roused, and affected readers to today. The Greeks wrote Poetry before they made utilization of writing for literary purpose, and from the earliest starting point their poetry was planned to be sung or presented. Writing was little known before the 7th century. The content utilized as a part of Crete and Mycenae during the second thousand years bc isn t known to have been utilized for other than authoritative purposes, and after the destruction of the Mycenaean cities it had been forgotten. This is using the principle of the minimum transfer price which is the variable cost plus the profit if it sells its engines externally then adds the cost of €200 of developing the Type 2A engine. However in the future the price may increase because fixed cost will be added as capacity may become a problem with the expected rise of demand for cars and engines, and also if Kamp is allowed to sell externally the type 2, 3, and 4 engines, so the price in the future should be €4750. The proposed transfer price now is also lower than the expected prices from Black and FER so it should not be a problem with Guy Mercier who is pressuring Kamp to sell the engine at a reasonable price so that he can raise profit and bonus for his division.
