The Allegations Brought Upon Me Essay
I am writing this statement to defend some of the allegations brought upon me. I will start off by
continuing taking ownership of the following allegations that was presented against me:
[As a Contingency Employee under Domingo Hernandez Gomez Supervision]
1. Using personal electronics devices (cell phone, personal computer) during work hours. (I used my
personal device to do work for the College Success Center, I created graphic designs and formats for
some of the materials we use during FastTrack. After Domingo informed me he doesn t want me to
bring my personal computer in anymore, I never brought it in again).
2. Tardy on numerous occasions
3. Violated Dress Code (Shorts, Tennis Shoes, and T Shirt on a Friday) did not comply with Business
Casual Dress Code (I was informed it was casual Fridays by at the time my supervisor Domingo, I did
have on professional khaki shorts, a Cotton T Shirt, and I had on loafers for my shoes, they were not
Tennis Shoes, I don t wear Tennis Shoes. After Domingo informed me I can t wear shorts, I never
wore shorts again and I met the expectation of Business Casual since then).
[As a Meet Confer Employee under Marisol Blanco Supervision]
1. Being tardy for work
2. Missing for a 1.5 hours following a professional development morning session at GRPS. (I was not

What Roles Do Nature And Nurture Play On Children s...
What roles do nature and nurture play in children s language development?
From a baby s first word to their first complete sentence, there s a lot to debate with their language
development. The average child has a vocabulary of up to six thousand words by the time they turn
five years old (Brighthubcom, 2016). Language development is one of the most critical roles for an
educator in both early childhood and primary settings. It is this ability of language development that is
particularly interesting in the nature vs nurture debate. In order for educators to provide effective
communication, it is important that they have the knowledge and understanding of the four key
concepts of language, such as phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic development and the
underlying theoretical perspectives that explain the processes of language acquisition and
development.
Nature or, in other words, heredity refers to traits that are inherited or genetic. Linguist Noam
Chomsky is a strong advocate of this perspective. He has spent a lot of time on evolving a theory of
grammar that is called universal grammar. Chomsky believed that language is innate, or in other
words we are born with a capacity for language. Chomsky suspected there is an optimal learning age,
between the ages of 3 to 10 where a child is the most likely to learn a language in its entirety and
grasp fluency. The child does not need a prompt to begin language acquisition, it happens on its own.

The Collapse Of America After The Cold War
INTRODUCTION
Back to the time of 1940s until 1990s, the whole world must be remembered the special occurrence
that change the world history. The special occurrence happened between the two of super sovereign
states that compete for 46 years. The United States of America have a long competition with the
Soviet Union on the cold war. The cold war is a military and political tension which is began after the
end of the World War II. This big tension is different from the other war that people know in the
world. This war did not have a special physical attack like the previous war, which is World War II.
The late of 1991 became the real witness of the collapsed of a great superpower state that became the
United States of America s competitor on the cold war, USSR. This powerful state that introduced the
world with its Communist Party government was collapsed in December 1991. The ruined of the great
Soviet Union became the symbol of the end of the cold war. This research essay papers will try to give
a clear explanation about the collapsed of USSR. This case is so special and interesting for the author

Framers Of Constitution
George Washington said, I do not expect the Constitution to last for more than 20 years (Gilder
Lehrman). Today, we have oldest written constitution in the world. It has been able to endure because
it is flexible and it stresses liberty and equality to the American people. The book states, It has endured
for more than two centuries as the framework of government because it has changed over time
(Overview). Thomas Jefferson, based on his notion that the world belongs to the living was
technically right. We are the living and our Constitution is basically the same as it was when he made
that statement.
The framers of the Constitution established the all encompassing structure of government in order to

Reddit Fraud
Sheryl Sandberg has become the spokeswoman for women in Business. Her stances on the working
women has become a social movement know as #leanin. There is no denying that Sandberg is an
amazing ambassador for women in business, and encourages women to help each other. But what do
we say about what happened to Ellen Pao? There ve been countless articles in the tech and boarding
news sites, so let s go through the Ellen Pao saga at Reddit. Pao was appointed interim CEO of Reddit
in 2014. If you are not aware, Reddit is a popular social networking system where their members can
share ideas. Reading around, interim CEOs are general appointed during periods of turmoil and are
hired for their expertise in a specific field. After going through Pao s education and experience:
electrical engine, lawyer and completed an MBA she fit the role like peanut butter and jelly.
Throughout the years, Reddit has faced controversies with their users facing death threats and

surfacing about why Pao resigned. Was she thrown under a bus? or did the company just give up on
her too quickly? Pao has come out saying that the trolls are winning . Everyone seems to have an

Vegetable Puree Experiment
If the vegetable puree is zucchini puree, then the moisture content will increase. The purpose of this
experiment is to determine whether adding vegetable puree to cupcakes increases the moisture
content. No one likes a dry cupcake, so if there is a way to add moisture, then this should happen.
Another benefit to this experiment is that by adding vegetable puree it can be a healthier alternative as
opposed to normal cupcakes. The experiment was interesting because baking is something that is done
very often, and is always great to find ways to improve the food. This project is meant to achieve
better tasting cupcakes, that are also healthier and have better texture.
In a similar project, certain ingredients were taken out of the cupcake. ... Show more content on

Instead of replacing the butter with avocado puree and zucchini puree, the puree was added along with
the butter. This is part of the reason there was too much moisture, especially with the zucchini
cupcakes.
The hypothesis was supported. The zucchini cupcakes contained the most moisture. The moisture
content was 16.5 grams. The moisture content for the avocado cupcakes was 15.5 grams. And the
control cupcakes had a moisture content of 14.4 grams. The science behind the experiment was that
when vegetables are added the moisture content increases, which makes for a better cupcake. The
percent difference was 20%.
The science behind this experiment was the chemistry within baking. The different ingredients in each
batch of cupcakes had a different outcome. Each batch looked and tasted different. This shows how
changing one little thing can have a very different result. This is also a way to show what is good for
your body. The cupcakes without vegetable puree are not as healthy like the zucchini and avocado
cupcakes

Comparing Frankenstein And Elizabeth s Childhood
The role of the child throughout Frankenstein are primarily focused upon by Walton, Frankenstein,
Elizabeth, William and the monster. They all resemble in some cases Shelley s own childhood, from
her independent study to the expectation put on her as a girl. There are resembles aspects of her lost
children, through understanding William and the monster. Each character characteristics of childhood
differ to resemble a number of 19th century aspects of theoretical and social understandings. Walton s
description of his small sample of childhood reveals his low educational background and a somewhat
rebellious nature that resists his sister foreboding fear. Both Frankenstein and Elizabeth s childhood

No Color Barrier in the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn I felt so lonesome I most wished I was dead

a place he can truly call home. Through his adventure, he rids himself of a father that is deemed
despicable by society, and he gains a father that society hasn t even deemed as a man. This lonely and
depressed young boy only finds true happiness when he is befriended with a slave named Jim.

Here s Huck [...] he hain t got no family [...]. They was going to rule me out because they said every

reiterated to the reader because Huck will only be content as he befriends Jim. Huck is raised in a truly
racist slave state and through his ignorance, like the rest of society that surrounds him, he does not see
black people as equals, and he refers to Jim as merely a piece of property. Miss Watson s big [slave],

Summary Of The Autumn By John Keats
Imagery brings poetry to life through the senses. It allows one to experience imagination through the
differing senses; it indirectly enables one to conceive the mental picture and senses through this
element. Imagery is a figurative language that is for the use of visual symbolism. The author utilizes
vivid and descriptive text to imply a deeper meaning to the story being read. In John Keats poem, The
Autumn, readers visualize the fall season through sensuous imagery to fulfill the purpose of an
illustration of autumn.
The senses of sight, known as visual imagery, is frequently illustrated in this poem. The first line of
the poem states, Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, close bosom friend of the maturing sun;
(Keats 771). The first line is filled with alliteration mists, mellow, and maturing. It also describes how
the fall consists of foggy air, and it expresses how the sun is fully developed and is beginning to
diminish its brightness. During the fall, the sun is not compelled to shine as bright as it does in the
summer or spring. The weather is cooler with cloudy skies, along with the leaves changing from
bright green to warm colors. The leaves are falling from the trees with the help of the chill breeze.
From the trees, grow tasteful fruits and eye catching blossoms which assists the fall in letting one see
the beautiful, graphic creation this season truly is. In essence, this poem allows one to experience taste
or the gustatory imagery of fruit.
This piece of literary work notifies readers the taste of fruit during this season in several lines. In the
first stanza, Keats details the trees and fruits of autumn through the line, To bend with apples the
mossed cottage trees, and fill all fruit with ripeness to the core; (771). The succulent taste of fruit is
being represented and one is able to imagine and relish the taste of a ripe fruit down to its core. During
this time, the fruit is growing maturely for one to harvest and to enjoy throughout this season and
others to come. This line furthermore ties back with visual imagery by expressing the stage the trees
are in. It declares how they are filled with thick, green moss on its trunks with apples hanging from
their branches. Even from

Google s Marketing Strategy
The phrase Google it has become an everyday part of our vocabulary when it comes to looking up any
and all information. What google has created is much more than a simple search engine. They ve
created a brand that has changed marketing in general. Google ADwords is an online advertising
service. What google has done is created a level playing field for all advertisers, from small start up
companies to large fortune 500 companies.
Adwords is Google s main source of revenue. In 2012 Googles advertising revenue was about $43.7
billion. I think the personally the pricing aspect of Google s marketing has been key to making it very
successful. For example, you have thousands of people that walk through a major mall such as

Certain things Yahoo has to offer show s that there s still room for growth with Google. Yahoo has its
own question and answer forums, where users can ask other users any question and receive responses.
Yahoo also has a careers section. Those who are looking for a job can use yahoo has a resource. There
are so many more uses that Yahoo has to offer. They have their own finance, politics, fashion, travel,
dating, sports and even top stories that are trending now. So even though ad words allows you to reach
your target crowd more directly, Yahoo offers a site with many different uses and purposes which may
in turn drawn in larger and more diverse crowds that would use their search engine as a result. These
are all areas of opportunity that Google and it s advertisers may be able to benefit from. I do believe
there are some threats that Google is facing. OPTING OUT could be a potential pitfall for google.
This goes hand in hand with Americans growing concern for their lack of privacy. There s been a
growing animosity in our culture to a feeling of always being monitored or tracked. Retargeting is
huge for Google, however the logistics behind Retargeting is done by tracking users cookies.
Controversy has been stirring for some time about how much of our information is being unknowingly
tracked and monitored and its trickling down to things that may be as simple as consumers not

Adaptations Are Broken Into Three Types Of Adaptations
INTRODUCTION
Adaptations are broken into three types of Adaptations. Structural, Physiological and Behavioural,
these types of adaptations differ from one another changing a different aspect of the organism.
Structural Adaptations are the change in appearance based on the organism s environment.
Physiological Adaptations are the organisms body chemistry, metabolism, and reproductive attributes.
Behavior Adaptations are the way in which an organism acts.
THE RED KANGAROO
The kangaroos ability to hop is a structural adaptation. The kangaroo s leg muscles spring when the
kangaroo makes impact with the ground. This transfer from elastic potential energy to kinetic energy
saves the kangaroo from using unnecessary energy to cover large distances. (As seen in figure 1)
The female kangaroo s efficient breeding cycle also assists them in surviving the harsh environment.
They have the ability, when pregnant, to put the growth of the embryo on hold until external
conditions improve. This increases the chances of the young surviving. In times of drought, many
kangaroos will die but when conditions are good female kangaroos can have three young ones with
them at the same time: one as an embryo (not yet born), one in the pouch attached to a teat and one
outside the pouch but still drinking the mother s milk. This extreme breeding cycle is a huge
physiological adaptation that has allowed the kangaroo to reproduce.
A physiological adaptations of the red kangaroos is that they

Jackson Pollock s Full Fathom Five
Jackson Pollock s painting titled Full Fathom Five reveals black and silver splatters of paint that aren t
necessarily straight. His painting includes colors such as blue, black, white and even specks of orange.
In addition, there are no figures which can be easily deciphered and the paint seems to have been
spilled all over the canvas. Thus, the painting does not display calculation or a heavy use of logic.
Instead, his creation seems to thrive off creativity and disorder. So I ask, how do we make sense of
such an unreasonable painting?
The answer can be found within the philosophical ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche introduces
to readers both the Apollonian force and the Dionysian force is his book The Birth of Tragedy. To be
specific, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under these circumstances, Jackson Pollock s painting has a sense of musicality to it that adds onto
the creative disorder. That is to say that his irrational paint splatters are almost rhythmic in the way
they were splattered onto the canvas. Friedrich Nietzsche believes that this rhythm is very significant
since it only occurs under the influence of the Dionysian force. This can be seen in the quote: The
essence of nature is now to be expressed symbolically...not the mere symbolism of the lips, face, and
speech but the whole pantomime of dancing, forcing every member into rhythmic movement, Then
the other symbolic powers suddenly press forward, particularly those of music, in rhythmics,
dynamics, and harmony (Cahn and Meskin 225). Nietzsche s quote tells us how the Dionysian force
causes a dancer to exude harmony and rhythm. As dancers under the Dionysian influence would all
dance together in unison, the paint splatters dance across the canvas in a way that makes it all come
together. For this reason, when looking at Full Fathom Five, the paint starts to resemble musical dance
rather than images or lines. However, Pollock s painting not only features motions similar to the the
art of dance. Full Fathom Five is essentially a grand mystery of indiscernible images coexisting
among one another. For example, Friedrich Nietzsche says

The Power Of Dance
The Power of Dance
Dance has been a natural movement form since the beginning of time. The origin of dance is
unknown, just as the knowledge of the benefits of dance are unknown to many in our society. Many
people do not enjoy dancing and also do not fully understand the positive benefits that come from
dancing. Researchers such as Edwards, Duberg, and many more have found countless mental and
emotional benefits of dance that originate from movement patterns, brain connections, and even
expressions of emotion. Many are aware of the physical benefits of dance, but beyond the physical
benefits of dance, there are also emotional and mental benefits that come from dance as well.
This paper explores my main question, how does movement through dance affect the mental and
emotional dimensions of wellness? I will explore the many unknown benefits that come from dance as
well as share expressions of my personal thoughts on the subject. I will also share my personal
experiences as well as others experiences with dance. In the research portion of my paper, I will cite
studies supporting both the mental and emotional benefits of dance. This paper will also explore the
perspective of a professor of dance, as well as the lived experiences of actual dance students. My
interview will support my paper as it reinforces the findings in literature. I will discuss my future
plans on the subject of mental and emotional dance; stressing the need for individuals to dance as the
benefits can be

Reverse Gender Roles in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
The role gender holds in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is not one many were familiar with at the time
it was written. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz reverses the accepted gender roles of its time, women
taking control, even helping men in times of need. This idea is depicted throughout the entire novel,
affecting almost every character introduced. This novel essentially questions and challenges the
accepted beliefs on the roles of gender in the society at that time, showing how things would be if
roles were different. With this, through a description of the characters, you can see who was
empowered by Baum and who held an inferior role. In this novel, the women and the men have very
different roles. Baum created strong and powerful women, but ... Show more content on

She then gave Dorothy what she had been looking for throughout the entire novel, a way home,
something the Wizard failed to give her. Your Silver Shoes will carry you over the desert (Baum 133).
Dorothy had the answer to her question the entire time, but she was meant to help all the other
characters along the way, really making her the heroine of the story. Two other women that were
empowered by Baum were the female stork and the Queen of Mice. The group came upon the female
stork when they were in trouble. The Scarecrow was stuck in the river, and the Tin Woodman and the
Lion were not able to save him. It seemed as if they had given up, until the Stork came and offered her
help to get him across. Then the Stork with her great claws grabbed the Scarecrow by the arm and
carried him up into the air and back to the bank... (Baum 47). She was able to do something that the
men were unable to do. Baum made her more powerful than them. The Queen of Mice was also
empowered by Baum, first off by just being a leader, as a woman, to a large group. She also guided the
group of mice to save the Lion from the poisonous field, which the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow
could not do alone. With her help, their friend was saved. Being that all the characters that were
empowered were women, it is easy to see what aspects of gender are questioned or challenged in this
novel.

community has suffered from heterosexism for many decades. This is growing rapidly around the
country. Homosexuals have been excluded from jobs, denied benefits, discriminated at school,
discriminated within their religion, not being accepted in their town or country and in public places in
general. As evidence suggests the LGBT community suffers from many problems ranging from mental
health to suicidal thoughts and laws that are for them but also against them. The six sources I
examined on this topic enhanced each other on several aspects. The first way they collaborated with
each other was the causes and effect of being discriminated in the LGBT community, and the effects it

community has consistently [been] a major stressor with adverse psychological effects (Berrin Sutter,

Attivation Of School Observation
General Information My Observation took place on 09/21/17. I arrived at 9:00am and departed at
12:30pm. I went to a Head Start program which is a public institution. The grade level that I observed
was Pre K and the children were around four years old.
Staff
In the program, there was one teacher and one teacher s aide. The class had sixteen children. The
Staff/Child ratio was 1:8 which means they had an adequate amount of staff for the children. There
were nine girls and seven boys in the classroom.
Activities
When the children arrived to Head Start the first thing they did was to go to a bin that had their names
in it. They searched for their names and tried to write it on a piece of paper which is counted as
attendance. After they wrote their names they picked what job they had that day which includes
teachers helper, bell ringer and other options. They then participated in organized play with specific
toys as they waited for the rest of their peers to arrive. They then ate breakfast and after participated in
a large group lesson containing children pointing out the first letters of their names. After the group
lesson, they had free play and then went outside to the playground. Interaction Upon arrival, the
children are encouraged to find and write their names which the teacher s aid was very attentive. She
helped the kids whenever they needed help writing, which is an example of scaffolding. Teachers
encourage and assist children in their own efforts to write (Bredekamp Copple, 2009, p.169). She also
praised them when they finished writing their names and encouraged them to pick a job of the day on
the job board. The teacher and the teacher s aide often referred to the children as their friends .
Whenever a child needed help they would say My friend, what can I help you with? . Referring to the
children as this created a pleasant environment and most likely made the children feel as though they
are loved. After writing their names and picking their jobs children are encouraged to play with
specific boxes of toys at the tables. The toys were mostly building toys that children can make
something out of. The teacher would sometimes show the children different things they could build

this part of the procedure correct because the color was not too pale and I did not use too much lead
(II) nitrate or sodium iodide. I used the correct amount to get the results that were listed on the
laboratory, In procedure D, Glassworking, cutting the glass came out great. I followed all safety

Disease vectors, related health risks (Rodents, Mosquitoes, Cockroaches, Fleas)
Naturally in Louisiana, we are going to have mosquitoes especially in Brusly since they are so close to
the Mississippi River. This is a health risk because of the diseases they can possibly carry. Since 2001
there has been 8 human cases of the West Nile Virus in West Baton Rouge. Also, St. Louis
Encephalitis is another possible disease carried by mosquitoes. In 2006 and 2007 WBR Parish

Spinal Cord Injury Research
Many spinal cord injuries (SCI) patients are suffering from the impairment of impulse conduction and
they are unable to carry out their activities of daily living. Rehabilitation becomes an important role in
enhancing motor recovery and minimizing the deficits of their movement function. The goal of this
research is to deliver natural gait behavior of a rat through active robotics and intelligent system for
the SCI Sprague Dawley rat. The advance of this research is not only the rehabilitation novel system
but also the regenerative medicine novel method from the cooperation of school of chemical and
biomedical engineering (SCBE). In order to reach this goal, the first design of robotic module which
composes of a body weight support system, treadmill for training motor functions and five bar linkage
for driving rat s ankle is built to do a preliminary test with the spinal cord injury rats which are totally
transected at T9 T10 of the spinal cord. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the rat, the trajectory from hip, knee and ankle joints of rat s forelimbs and rat s hindlimbs is observed
by the realsense cameras. To develop the active system, the high speed camera will capture the rat s
forelimbs for observing the movement phase. And then, the manipulators will provide the correct

The Use Of Technology In The Film Industry And The Movie...
An American director, producer, and screenwriter once said, Cinema is gone , but is it really? The
ability to bring a story to life on a big screen, using technology is magic. To be able to use a camera
and transform an idea into reality has allowed one to visualize written words. The movie industry is a
broad and vast field, but has transformed, connected, and influenced the way one see s reality. These
movies have the ability to transforms an idea into a moving picture by the use of technology, allowing
one to connect to the story, and influence in the way one perceives it. The movement of pictures, or
movies as they are now called, dates back to the late 1800s . With the introduction of these moving
pictures and the technology that was used to make, these movies have changed the world as one view
it. Today movies are as easy to access through phones, televisions, and at the movies theaters;
however, does the easy access of viewing movies through one s phone affect the making of these
movies and the movie industry (The History of Motion Pictures, n.d.)? The history, the use of
technology, the key people, and the future, are all important when understanding why the movie
industry is gone according to American directors like Martin Scorsese, who has directed popular
movies from as early as the 1970s such as Taxi Driver (1976), and recent films such as Silence (2016.)

President Obama s Semblance Of Education Reform Essay
Adversaries in the Race to the Top While many supported President Obama s semblance of education
reform in Race to the Top, various factions were vehemently against RTT and its implementation.
Republicans primarily stand against federal involvement in state and local schools. The party opposed
RTT advanced Common Core State Standards, which promote a one size fits all approach to education
(Spring, 2015, 63). Along with political factions, those majorly impacted by RTT objected to its
premise. The main teachers unions in the U.S., the National Education Association as well as the
American Federation of Teachers, highlighted several points of disagreement in RTT which would
lead to challenges in implementation. At the time, the NEA said it cannot support RTT s endorsement
of using test scores for evaluating teachers, increasing the number of charter schools, and bolstering
what the union calls fast track alternative routes to teacher licensure (Sawchuk 2009). Additionally,
the AFT expressed concerns about RTT and how much the program helps students, whether it is fair to
teachers, whether it is transparent to the public, and whether it requires shared responsibility
(Weingarten 2009). Along with teachers unions, members of academia spearheaded critiques of RTT.
Joe Onosko s eight point manifesto adequately details the concerns of educators at the time of
implementation. The flaws of the plan (RTT) are as follows:
The plan s focus on high stakes testing and

My Mother Was A Military Brat
My grandmother once said, or at least I am told she once said, that she was concerned that my father

At some point I m sure a storm of life, or an unexpected gust of wind will blow me out of Killen s

Choas Theory In Biology Essay
Chaos In Biological Systems
In today s world of high tech methods to study just about anything that exists, we are still imperfect.
Scientists continue to look for ways to understand, explain, and even predict the actions and reactions
of the universe. In the last two centuries, scientists have been looking in every possible place to
understand the universe; from science, to math, even religion. They have turned to mathematicians
and their strange theories of determinism and predictability. This search to understand the universe has
spawned several new areas of science; there are now scientists devoted solely to the research of mere
theories, such as chaos theorists.
In the twentieth century, a new area of scientific study has been ... Show more content on

As one can imagine, this is impossible. Because it is so difficult to make this idea neat and clean,
scientists try even harder to do so. Most ecologists believe that by being able to understand and predict
a biological system, we can foretell how fast and large any given population of organisms will grow
and expand (Clarke 1 19).
In the 1970 s, scientists also developed another science, called Chaos Theory. This is theory that
attempts to explain how and why the universe is deterministic yet unpredictable. This means that in
most systems, scientists can foretell what should happen, but not to what extent changes will continue.
Chaos Theory is a very strange and misleading science. Many people take it to believe that chaos
means total disorder, whereas in the science, it has a totally different meaning. Some people believe
that the entire purpose of such a science is simply to explain our own inabilities to understand.
Understand what? Anything and everything in this universe, this includes weather, astronomy, and
how a raindrop will roll down a leaf. Scientists use this science to explain planetary motion,
pendulums, and many other moving objects. Using this newfound science of Chaos, ecologists were
able to make mathematical models to represent a biological system. For instance, using a certain
mathematical formula, we ll say nnext= F (x), ecologists could make a graphical representation of a
population and its fluctuations

Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business
Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business 1. Introduction A new idea for a business is the
setting up of a mobile photographic studio. There are many individuals who want family portraits, or
photos for identification or other reasons, who do not have time to go to a professional photographer.
There are already a number of services where photographers will set up in a shopping centre to take
family portraits of photos of children, or go to schools and take children s photographs to sell to
parents. The new idea takes this a stage further, allowing a family to invite a photographer into there
home for a set period of time, for a set price which will include a specific number of photographs. The
idea of the convenience, as well as high quality of service, will create differentiation, with the aim of
gaining business by recommendation. The business will be set up ion an areas where there are is a
large population of middle and upper class families, and where a similar service is not easily
identifiable. In order to set up the business it is necessary to consider the practical implications
associated with the different business structures which may be used to establish the firm. 2. Forms of
Business Organization When setting up a business, the idea is only a part of the process. It is also
necessary to consider the way in which the business itself will be set up in order to function. There are
three basic structure which may be used; sole proprietor, partnership

Partition Reimbursement Analysis
In addition to monetary compensation, the benefits offered by varying companies are often taken into
consideration when job candidates are weighing their different job options. When an organization
offers excellent benefits, candidates are willing to take less in monetary compensation for the comfort
provided by certain benefits. For example, extended maternity and paternity leave options, paid or
partially paid, attract and retain young workers who plan to build a family in the near future. While
you can t expect every organization to offer full pay during an extended time off to raise a family,
knowing that your organization will provide some kind of support is reassuring during this time where
families often rely on the pay of both spouses. Other nations have already enacted legislation that
requires extensive maternity leave; such as Israel who provides women with twelve months with 100
percent pay (Pynes, 2013). Currently, the United States only requires twelve weeks of unpaid leave. If
certain organizations were to offer substantially better benefits, their desirability to ... Show more

finding a job; however, it would be helpful for the individual organizations if they offered a plan that

play a greater role in their organization. Due to the fact that tuition reimbursement isn t universal in
the United States, the companies that choose to offer this type of benefit would appear more desirable
for those who are looking to work their way up in a company. Providing tuition reimbursement shows
that organizations are willing to invest in loyal employees, while also proving that they are willing to

The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Charity
In 2001, Frank Baird founded the charity event Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men s
March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault, and Gender Violence in an effort to engage more men in the fight
against sexual violence and domestic abuse in the United States and abroad (Walk a Mile in Her
Shoes, n.d.). Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a mile long charity walk where men literally walk, jog, run,
and occasionally trip in high heels, customarily red (the classic emblem for the walk). However, all
types of traditional women s shoes are fine, and anyone who cannot wear heels or has special needs,
such as a wheelchair, is encouraged to participate and help raise awareness of this pressing issue while
also raising money for community resources that help survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse.
Several Walk a Mile in Her Shoes charity walks have been successfully held in locations like Logan
and Orem, UT. I have personally volunteered as a Blister Sister during Park City s recent Walk a Mile
in Her Shoes event which benefitted the Peace House. However, the most populous county in Utah,
Salt Lake County, has never held a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event and I think 2014 is the perfect
time to bring this celebrated event to Salt Lake City. Like other Walk a Mile in Her Shoes events,
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Salt Lake City! will raise funds for a local non profit organization
dedicated to eliminating sexual violence in our state the Rape Recovery Center of Utah.

Nell Vyse s Balloon Woman
It is possible that Nell Vyse utilised the wax resist method to set out the grid pattern design. This
method of delineation of the design would also prevent the various pigments from bleeding into each
other when applied. The shawl s scheme is a complex mixture of colours suggesting a woven plaid,
and as with the real thing, where the colours intersect there is a subtle change of hue. A modelled
fringing, decorated with green, lilac, and yellow complete the shawl s decoration. A figure s head is
notoriously prone to decapitation by injudicious dusting; Vyse protects the neck of the figure with
folds of the shawl. Other examples of colour variations are illustrated. Unusually for Vyse, the trained

33). Of all his vendor subjects, this design along with Tulip Woman of 1921, have proved the most
successful and profitable. The figures were an instant success, and over the next three decades, he
would continually produce editions by customer demand. Both these figures require many piece
moulds, and the decoration of the subject s overdress is far more elaborate than in his previous design
Lavender Girl, and in consequence the more labour intensive, and expensive to produce. The
overdress is an invention of multi coloured, vertical stripes, black, orange, yellow, purple and green,
applied in varying widths, some straight, some wavy. Not to tire the eye with this seemingly riot of
colour, the apron is unpainted and white. A critical examination reveals that the modelling is by
necessity pragmatic. Vyse has pragmatically modelled the subject arm supporting the child into the
figure s mass. Undercutting here would cause fragility of structure and the possibility of more piece
moulds. The moulded tulips, ranged around the outer edges of the basket, minimise accidental damage
from the over zealous housemaid s duster. They protect the separately hand modelled blooms. The
combination of mould cast and hand modelling conveys to the viewer both variety and liveliness. Vyse
usually supplied a wooden base to support his figures to guard against accidental chipping and to
protect the polished surface of furniture. An

The Cross and the Swtichblade
In my opinion, I think I can partly identify with David Wilkerson because of the way he treated
people. I m a girl of my words, what ever I say, I will do. David Wilkerson said he wanted to help
Nicky, and that is what he did. I m not a 100% peace maker, but I know when to be mature and bring
peace and I know when to be loud and noisy. There is a time, in a place.
Also, the fact that David wanted to make someone s life better and make them realize that
god/love/energy is the power of all humanity. I try to do that. I try my hardest, to make everyone feel
special and love themselves.
I have many perspectives of the movie. Though, the feeling that often returns is fear. I loved the movie
because it is was very inspirational, but I felt fear because this was what our world was a long time
ago and it still is now. I felt that the movie was describing reality.
I said the movie was inspirational because if someone tries hard enough, they can change you in a
negative and positive way, but if you try twice as hard, you can change yourself in which ever way
you desire. The movie itself might have changed people lives, you saw the point of views from both
sides. Negative and positive. Now its your turn to determine that path you wish to seek.

Media Representation In America
In my artistic work, I decided to pursue and address an issue that stands out to me because of its lack
of media representation in America during an era where media is more obtainable than ever. The
Israeli Palestinian conflict is rarely reported in mainstream media in the United States. Instead, topics
such as celebrity gossip dominate headlines and it s tragic to me; the Kardashians are mentioned more
in the news than West Bank or Gaza combined. The people in Palestine have no voice in America and
yet America is the perpetrator of their injustice. How can we, as Americans, face our own mistakes if
we aren t even aware that we re making them? We boast that all men are created equal when we tell
Palestinians everyday that Israelis deserve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People rely on their news sources as their gateway to the rest of the world and when these gateways
are compromised by the government, the people of those countries lose their ability to fight injustice.
In my illustration, the two individuals are blindfolded to demonstrate the national blindness in present
day America. Our cluelessness of what happens beyond our country is a direct result of our
government s choke hold on the press; America is known as a country of freedom and yet we are often
isolated from the knowledge we deserve to know illustrated by the use of the umbrella above the table.
The pillar connecting the barbed wire fence surrounding Gaza has the American colors because the
United States government has an incriminating role in what has been happening in Palestine, but it is
so far removed beyond the picturesque Hollywood Hills that not many people know about it. Within
the barricaded fence, a bomb is titled the truth , because the truth of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is
that devastation has been tearing Gaza apart. The bomb is colossal in proportion to its own fencing to
exemplify how large that devastation is. I hope that upon my audience seeing my art, they will grow
intrigued and actively seek out the truth about the government s role in the Middle East. Inspirations
for my piece come from a recent flux of political cartoons in response to Trump s election. I was
amazed at how cartoons, which can be so incredibly simple, can convey such intense and important
messages to its audience by the uses of symbolism, irony, and exaggeration. To sum up, this art piece
asks for Americans to dare and pull off the blindfold. It dares people to question what is written in the
media, and whether or not what is written truly matters in the grand scheme of world events.
Knowledge is the first step in the process of justice, and the Palestinians deserve

Influential People Today
In the society we live in today, our thought processes are different than what they were a decade or
two ago. We live in the cinematic age as they call it, and in this time it is quite difficult to have
positive influences as the world faces destruction, neglect, and hatred. As a little boy not
understanding the world, I would have assumed that most people were somewhat influential.
However, as I aged into the young man I am today, I understand that being influential person takes a
certain individual. An individual who has the moral code of willingness to help others effectively
while asking for nothing in return but their happiness. Besides my parents and some family members I
can simply say with all that is occurring in our time, there is not one person I can truly admire today.

as Roy says, Boots on Bone. On teeth (Roy 292). This line shows violence in the sense of relating to
Velutha ferocious beating as a subhuman since he is an untouchable in the Indian society. The
policemen s forcible boots damage a good man whose faith depends on the status of his social class.
Juxtaposition is also found when Roy says The muted crunch of skull on cement (Roy 292). This
creates an image of Velutha s fragile human skull being hit by hard cement that is used to break his
skull. The juxtaposition used in this passage is so vivid and important that it portrays Velutha s
destruction in great detail that shows the light vs the darkness. Her details help readers make a sense
of what Velutha is going through. Roy compares the frailty of a human s body and hard things that are
used in this passage to destroy Velutha s

Proslavery supporters, for example, Cobb, vehemently demanded the equity and ethical quality the
crucial rightness of subjection. Cobb accepted that racially based servitude was an essential for a
genuinely republican equality in light of the fact that just in such a framework were all whites
equivalent in status, paying little heed to their riches, property, or station in life . Consequently, as
indicated by Cobb, racially based subjugation permitted all white nationals of the country to soak up
flexibility with their mother s milk. Under Cobb s perspective of the world, servitude was most
certainly not an insidiousness, yet a positive decent that saved American freedom, and without
servitude, opportunity in America would be undermined.
Yet, Cobb additionally realized that the North, and in fact the vast majority of the rest of the Western
world, accepted subjection was on a very basic level wrong and unethical. In this manner, one of Cobb
s objectives in his Inquiry was to persuade legal counselors outside the South that bondage was steady
with American law, great open arrangement, Christian ethical quality, and the regular request of
things. Cobb did not simply team up with an arrangement of malevolence, he strived to recast the very
thought of shrewd to expel subjugation from inside its definition.
To comprehend Cobb and other proslavery legitimate scholars, legal advisors furthermore judges, it is
imperative to first consider the curious nature of

The Elements Of Journalism By Bill Kovach And Tom Rosenstiel
In The Elements of Journalism by Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel, the authors stated that the primary
purpose of journalism is to provide citizens with the information they need to self govern. As a student
who regularly uses Google News, it is crucial to me that the journalist publishes the article in a way
that empowers the audience. Often, external influences affect the role of journalism in our society. The
line between journalism and propaganda is often muddled and groups of people are left behind.
Although it is sometimes lost, the journalism we see today is meant to be the metaphorical bridge that
makes sense of the masses of events and delivers it to the audience in a way that demonstrates clarity.
The audience needs guidance from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ground breaking news such as the shooting in Tunisia or the President conducting a deal with Iran
should be prioritized and be put in a place where the average citizen can immediately read about it. As
technology dominates our lives, shocking news generally reaches the public in a very fast manner,
mostly through social media. Journalists must be able to take what he/she thinks is the most important,
interpret it to make it understandable and put it out to the public. In my opinion, this principle is the
most important as the ability of the journalist to deliver easy to understand news is what will allow the
bridge to form. If this bridge is formed correctly, citizens will be better able to understand their
relationship to the event. In addition, news websites themselves must be able to accommodate the
needs of the society by putting important news at the front, and not allowing celebrity drama and more
unnecessary news to dominate their website. After all, it is extremely frustrating when the most
important news of the day is about The Kardashians latest shenanigans rather than how

  • 3. What Roles Do Nature And Nurture Play On Children s... What roles do nature and nurture play in children s language development? From a baby s first word to their first complete sentence, there s a lot to debate with their language development. The average child has a vocabulary of up to six thousand words by the time they turn five years old (Brighthubcom, 2016). Language development is one of the most critical roles for an educator in both early childhood and primary settings. It is this ability of language development that is particularly interesting in the nature vs nurture debate. In order for educators to provide effective communication, it is important that they have the knowledge and understanding of the four key concepts of language, such as phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic development and the underlying theoretical perspectives that explain the processes of language acquisition and development. Nature or, in other words, heredity refers to traits that are inherited or genetic. Linguist Noam Chomsky is a strong advocate of this perspective. He has spent a lot of time on evolving a theory of grammar that is called universal grammar. Chomsky believed that language is innate, or in other words we are born with a capacity for language. Chomsky suspected there is an optimal learning age, between the ages of 3 to 10 where a child is the most likely to learn a language in its entirety and grasp fluency. The child does not need a prompt to begin language acquisition, it happens on its own. If a child is around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The purpose of this experiment is to determine whether adding vegetable puree to cupcakes increases the moisture content. No one likes a dry cupcake, so if there is a way to add moisture, then this should happen. Another benefit to this experiment is that by adding vegetable puree it can be a healthier alternative as opposed to normal cupcakes. The experiment was interesting because baking is something that is done very often, and is always great to find ways to improve the food. • 10. Summary Of The Autumn By John Keats Imagery brings poetry to life through the senses. It allows one to experience imagination through the differing senses; it indirectly enables one to conceive the mental picture and senses through this element. Imagery is a figurative language that is for the use of visual symbolism. The author utilizes vivid and descriptive text to imply a deeper meaning to the story being read. In John Keats poem, The Autumn, readers visualize the fall season through sensuous imagery to fulfill the purpose of an illustration of autumn. The senses of sight, known as visual imagery, is frequently illustrated in this poem. The first line of the poem states, Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, close bosom friend of the maturing sun; (Keats 771). The first line is filled with alliteration mists, mellow, and maturing. It also describes how the fall consists of foggy air, and it expresses how the sun is fully developed and is beginning to diminish its brightness. During the fall, the sun is not compelled to shine as bright as it does in the summer or spring. The weather is cooler with cloudy skies, along with the leaves changing from bright green to warm colors. The leaves are falling from the trees with the help of the chill breeze. From the trees, grow tasteful fruits and eye catching blossoms which assists the fall in letting one see the beautiful, graphic creation this season truly is. In essence, this poem allows one to experience taste or the gustatory imagery of fruit. This piece of literary work notifies readers the taste of fruit during this season in several lines. In the first stanza, Keats details the trees and fruits of autumn through the line, To bend with apples the mossed cottage trees, and fill all fruit with ripeness to the core; (771). The succulent taste of fruit is being represented and one is able to imagine and relish the taste of a ripe fruit down to its core. During this time, the fruit is growing maturely for one to harvest and to enjoy throughout this season and others to come. This line furthermore ties back with visual imagery by expressing the stage the trees are in. It declares how they are filled with thick, green moss on its trunks with apples hanging from their branches. Even from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Adaptations Are Broken Into Three Types Of Adaptations INTRODUCTION Adaptations are broken into three types of Adaptations. Structural, Physiological and Behavioural, these types of adaptations differ from one another changing a different aspect of the organism. Structural Adaptations are the change in appearance based on the organism s environment. Physiological Adaptations are the organisms body chemistry, metabolism, and reproductive attributes. Behavior Adaptations are the way in which an organism acts. THE RED KANGAROO The kangaroos ability to hop is a structural adaptation. The kangaroo s leg muscles spring when the kangaroo makes impact with the ground. This transfer from elastic potential energy to kinetic energy saves the kangaroo from using unnecessary energy to cover large distances. (As seen in figure 1) The female kangaroo s efficient breeding cycle also assists them in surviving the harsh environment. They have the ability, when pregnant, to put the growth of the embryo on hold until external conditions improve. This increases the chances of the young surviving. In times of drought, many kangaroos will die but when conditions are good female kangaroos can have three young ones with them at the same time: one as an embryo (not yet born), one in the pouch attached to a teat and one outside the pouch but still drinking the mother s milk. This extreme breeding cycle is a huge physiological adaptation that has allowed the kangaroo to reproduce. A physiological adaptations of the red kangaroos is that they ... • 15. Jackson Pollock s Full Fathom Five Jackson Pollock s painting titled Full Fathom Five reveals black and silver splatters of paint that aren t necessarily straight. His painting includes colors such as blue, black, white and even specks of orange. In addition, there are no figures which can be easily deciphered and the paint seems to have been spilled all over the canvas. Thus, the painting does not display calculation or a heavy use of logic. Instead, his creation seems to thrive off creativity and disorder. So I ask, how do we make sense of such an unreasonable painting? The answer can be found within the philosophical ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche introduces to readers both the Apollonian force and the Dionysian force is his book The Birth of Tragedy. To be specific, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under these circumstances, Jackson Pollock s painting has a sense of musicality to it that adds onto the creative disorder. That is to say that his irrational paint splatters are almost rhythmic in the way they were splattered onto the canvas. Friedrich Nietzsche believes that this rhythm is very significant since it only occurs under the influence of the Dionysian force. This can be seen in the quote: The essence of nature is now to be expressed symbolically...not the mere symbolism of the lips, face, and speech but the whole pantomime of dancing, forcing every member into rhythmic movement, Then the other symbolic powers suddenly press forward, particularly those of music, in rhythmics, dynamics, and harmony (Cahn and Meskin 225). Nietzsche s quote tells us how the Dionysian force causes a dancer to exude harmony and rhythm. As dancers under the Dionysian influence would all dance together in unison, the paint splatters dance across the canvas in a way that makes it all come together. For this reason, when looking at Full Fathom Five, the paint starts to resemble musical dance rather than images or lines. However, Pollock s painting not only features motions similar to the the art of dance. Full Fathom Five is essentially a grand mystery of indiscernible images coexisting among one another. The origin of dance is unknown, just as the knowledge of the benefits of dance are unknown to many in our society. Researchers such as Edwards, Duberg, and many more have found countless mental and emotional benefits of dance that originate from movement patterns, brain connections, and even expressions of emotion. Many are aware of the physical benefits of dance, but beyond the physical benefits of dance, there are also emotional and mental benefits that come from dance as well. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz reverses the accepted gender roles of its time, women taking control, even helping men in times of need. This idea is depicted throughout the entire novel, affecting almost every character introduced. This novel essentially questions and challenges the accepted beliefs on the roles of gender in the society at that time, showing how things would be if roles were different. Staff In the program, there was one teacher and one teacher s aide. The class had sixteen children. The Staff/Child ratio was 1:8 which means they had an adequate amount of staff for the children. There were nine girls and seven boys in the classroom. Activities When the children arrived to Head Start the first thing they did was to go to a bin that had their names in it. They searched for their names and tried to write it on a piece of paper which is counted as attendance. After they wrote their names they picked what job they had that day which includes teachers helper, bell ringer and other options. They then participated in organized play with specific toys as they waited for the rest of their peers to arrive. They then ate breakfast and after participated in a large group lesson containing children pointing out the first letters of their names. After the group lesson, they had free play and then went outside to the playground. Interaction Upon arrival, the children are encouraged to find and write their names which the teacher s aid was very attentive. Republicans primarily stand against federal involvement in state and local schools. The party opposed RTT advanced Common Core State Standards, which promote a one size fits all approach to education (Spring, 2015, 63). Along with political factions, those majorly impacted by RTT objected to its premise. The main teachers unions in the U.S., the National Education Association as well as the American Federation of Teachers, highlighted several points of disagreement in RTT which would lead to challenges in implementation. At the time, the NEA said it cannot support RTT s endorsement of using test scores for evaluating teachers, increasing the number of charter schools, and bolstering what the union calls fast track alternative routes to teacher licensure (Sawchuk 2009). Additionally, the AFT expressed concerns about RTT and how much the program helps students, whether it is fair to teachers, whether it is transparent to the public, and whether it requires shared responsibility (Weingarten 2009). In the 1970 s, scientists also developed another science, called Chaos Theory. This is theory that attempts to explain how and why the universe is deterministic yet unpredictable. This means that in most systems, scientists can foretell what should happen, but not to what extent changes will continue. Chaos Theory is a very strange and misleading science. There are many individuals who want family portraits, or photos for identification or other reasons, who do not have time to go to a professional photographer. There are already a number of services where photographers will set up in a shopping centre to take family portraits of photos of children, or go to schools and take children s photographs to sell to parents. The new idea takes this a stage further, allowing a family to invite a photographer into there home for a set period of time, for a set price which will include a specific number of photographs. The idea of the convenience, as well as high quality of service, will create differentiation, with the aim of gaining business by recommendation. The business will be set up ion an areas where there are is a large population of middle and upper class families, and where a similar service is not easily identifiable. In order to set up the business it is necessary to consider the practical implications associated with the different business structures which may be used to establish the firm. 2. • 32. Partition Reimbursement Analysis In addition to monetary compensation, the benefits offered by varying companies are often taken into consideration when job candidates are weighing their different job options. When an organization offers excellent benefits, candidates are willing to take less in monetary compensation for the comfort provided by certain benefits. For example, extended maternity and paternity leave options, paid or partially paid, attract and retain young workers who plan to build a family in the near future. While you can t expect every organization to offer full pay during an extended time off to raise a family, knowing that your organization will provide some kind of support is reassuring during this time where families often rely on the pay of both spouses. Other nations have already enacted legislation that requires extensive maternity leave; such as Israel who provides women with twelve months with 100 percent pay (Pynes, 2013). Currently, the United States only requires twelve weeks of unpaid leave. If certain organizations were to offer substantially better benefits, their desirability to ... Due to the fact that tuition reimbursement isn t universal in the United States, the companies that choose to offer this type of benefit would appear more desirable for those who are looking to work their way up in a company. • 33. The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Charity In 2001, Frank Baird founded the charity event Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault, and Gender Violence in an effort to engage more men in the fight against sexual violence and domestic abuse in the United States and abroad (Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, n.d.). Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a mile long charity walk where men literally walk, jog, run, and occasionally trip in high heels, customarily red (the classic emblem for the walk). However, all types of traditional women s shoes are fine, and anyone who cannot wear heels or has special needs, such as a wheelchair, is encouraged to participate and help raise awareness of this pressing issue while also raising money for community resources that help survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse. Several Walk a Mile in Her Shoes charity walks have been successfully held in locations like Logan and Orem, UT. I have personally volunteered as a Blister Sister during Park City s recent Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event which benefitted the Peace House. However, the most populous county in Utah, Salt Lake County, has never held a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event and I think 2014 is the perfect time to bring this celebrated event to Salt Lake City. Like other Walk a Mile in Her Shoes events, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Salt Lake City! will raise funds for a local non profit organization dedicated to eliminating sexual violence in our state the Rape Recovery Center of Utah. ... • 35. Nell Vyse s Balloon Woman It is possible that Nell Vyse utilised the wax resist method to set out the grid pattern design. This method of delineation of the design would also prevent the various pigments from bleeding into each other when applied. The shawl s scheme is a complex mixture of colours suggesting a woven plaid, and as with the real thing, where the colours intersect there is a subtle change of hue. A modelled fringing, decorated with green, lilac, and yellow complete the shawl s decoration. A figure s head is notoriously prone to decapitation by injudicious dusting; Vyse protects the neck of the figure with folds of the shawl. Other examples of colour variations are illustrated. Of all his vendor subjects, this design along with Tulip Woman of 1921, have proved the most successful and profitable. The figures were an instant success, and over the next three decades, he would continually produce editions by customer demand. Both these figures require many piece moulds, and the decoration of the subject s overdress is far more elaborate than in his previous design Lavender Girl, and in consequence the more labour intensive, and expensive to produce. The overdress is an invention of multi coloured, vertical stripes, black, orange, yellow, purple and green, applied in varying widths, some straight, some wavy. Not to tire the eye with this seemingly riot of colour, the apron is unpainted and white. A critical examination reveals that the modelling is by necessity pragmatic. Vyse has pragmatically modelled the subject arm supporting the child into the figure s mass. Undercutting here would cause fragility of structure and the possibility of more piece moulds. The moulded tulips, ranged around the outer edges of the basket, minimise accidental damage from the over zealous housemaid s duster. They protect the separately hand modelled blooms. The combination of mould cast and hand modelling conveys to the viewer both variety and liveliness. Vyse usually supplied a wooden base to support his figures to guard against accidental chipping and to protect the polished surface of furniture. An ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

David Wilkerson said he wanted to help Nicky, and that is what he did. I m not a 100% peace maker, but I know when to be mature and bring peace and I know when to be loud and noisy. There is a time, in a place. Also, the fact that David wanted to make someone s life better and make them realize that god/love/energy is the power of all humanity. I try to do that. I try my hardest, to make everyone feel special and love themselves. I have many perspectives of the movie. Though, the feeling that often returns is fear. I loved the movie because it is was very inspirational, but I felt fear because this was what our world was a long time ago and it still is now. I felt that the movie was describing reality. I said the movie was inspirational because if someone tries hard enough, they can change you in a negative and positive way, but if you try twice as hard, you can change yourself in which ever way you desire. The movie itself might have changed people lives, you saw the point of views from both sides. Negative and positive. Now its your turn to determine that path you wish to seek. • 37. Media Representation In America In my artistic work, I decided to pursue and address an issue that stands out to me because of its lack of media representation in America during an era where media is more obtainable than ever. The Israeli Palestinian conflict is rarely reported in mainstream media in the United States. Instead, topics such as celebrity gossip dominate headlines and it s tragic to me; the Kardashians are mentioned more in the news than West Bank or Gaza combined. The people in Palestine have no voice in America and yet America is the perpetrator of their injustice. How can we, as Americans, face our own mistakes if we aren t even aware that we re making them? People rely on their news sources as their gateway to the rest of the world and when these gateways are compromised by the government, the people of those countries lose their ability to fight injustice. In my illustration, the two individuals are blindfolded to demonstrate the national blindness in present day America. Our cluelessness of what happens beyond our country is a direct result of our government s choke hold on the press; America is known as a country of freedom and yet we are often isolated from the knowledge we deserve to know illustrated by the use of the umbrella above the table. The pillar connecting the barbed wire fence surrounding Gaza has the American colors because the United States government has an incriminating role in what has been happening in Palestine, but it is so far removed beyond the picturesque Hollywood Hills that not many people know about it. Within the barricaded fence, a bomb is titled the truth , because the truth of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is that devastation has been tearing Gaza apart. The bomb is colossal in proportion to its own fencing to exemplify how large that devastation is. I hope that upon my audience seeing my art, they will grow intrigued and actively seek out the truth about the government s role in the Middle East. Inspirations for my piece come from a recent flux of political cartoons in response to Trump s election. I was amazed at how cartoons, which can be so incredibly simple, can convey such intense and important messages to its audience by the uses of symbolism, irony, and exaggeration. To sum up, this art piece asks for Americans to dare and pull off the blindfold. It dares people to question what is written in the media, and whether or not what is written truly matters in the grand scheme of world events.
