As one of Google’s most important ranking signals, links have seen a huge number of changes in how they are viewed and how they apply. As an industry, we have been encouraged to learn that the power of links as a signal has decreased in favour of other metrics, but is that actually the case? Paul, with access to the link profiles of thousands of sites and literally billions of links, takes us through the arguments for how we should really view our links in 2017 and beyond.

Search engines work on three basic steps - crawling, indexing and ranking.
✅ Expertise of SEO Tools - Google Analytics & Search Console

My presentation for Go Negosyo's talk streamed on Facebook. This is all about the shift to digital from pre-pandemic period to where we are today with COVID-19. Ultimately, I spell out how we can win in business and help the economy in spite of the challenges.
This leadership seminar was delivered for Accenture in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) for their Top ACT event. It was the first time they were doing an event such as this for their newly launched mentorship program so delivering the Agile Leadership talk for them was a very big deal for me.
I mixed a little bit of tech geekiness in the deck so the sub-title is 'Decoding Leadership in Today's World'. I also tackled why leadership is important and why it's difficult at the same time.
I also noted that leadership is more difficult nowadays because influencing people has become more elusive. Technology has increased our awareness and so it has also increased our skepticism. We don't put our faith in someone or something as easily as before.
Influence is earned. Which means leadership is earned. And how you earn leadership stems from who you are and how authoritative you are in what you do and say.
Earning influence requires a ton of hard work, intentional practice, research and diplomacy. These things do not come often to a lot of people. There are a few gems of an individual that has these and I implore people to work towards having these characteristics as it will serve them in becoming the best leaders they can be.
I also talk about passion and how it is grossly misunderstood by the world at large. It does take passion to be a leader but it is the difficult side of passion that enables this. The side that takes a lot of sacrifice and (I daresay) martyrdom.
Life is not about work and pay. Rather, it is about sharing your faith to others. Give what you have freely to others. How can you share and give to others if they don't want what you have?
Because they don't want to be like you?
The Bible says in Titus 2:7 "And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching."
You have to be someone who matters to people. That takes authority which turns to influence.
Leadership is impossible without the willingness to suffer for something you truly believe in. The good news is leadership can be agile!
Leadership is not a long, hard development that will launch after everything has been "quality-assured."
You learn, you practice - and yes you might faith sometimes and experience 'bugs' along the way, but the important thing is to 'just keep shipping.'
This talk was also delivered to Fluor Philippines, in Alabang. They are a Fortune 500 company with more than 56,000 employees worldwide. They also have offices in Manila and Cebu with a combined headcount of almost 3,000 employees. They got me to talk about leadership for their Mentoring program. It was a very exciting time for them and I, in turn, was thrilled for the opportunity to speak about leadership in their event.
This is my presentation in ICTT 2019 in Kerala, India at the Le Meridien Kochi Hotel. I talk about how Expertise, Authority and Trust affects SEO, how to optimize it, and how Google stashed critical data to jump-start E-A-T as a ranking factor.

This is my Deck for Robinsons Homes' Sales Rally for 2018. Their motto is 'Start the Good Life'. The talk is all about how to get people to listen to what you have to say. It's hard for people to hand out flyers and leaflets in the mall to people who are passing by. Often people just shrug it off. Selling is tough. There are real problems along the way. The secret to getting people to listen to you is simple but it takes a lot of hard work. Check out the deck and enjoy!

Good afternoon! My name is Sean Si. I’m an IT graduate with a special liking to creative writing, I’m also an internet marketing specialist and the managing director of SEO Hacker – an internet marketing company. Today I’ll be talking to you about On Site Optimization. I was informed that I will be talking to a lot of bright minds today with common interests in web development. But before that, I would like to introduce our company to you.
So why do you build a website?-fun-fulfilling-share stuff-etc… we all have a lot of different reasons why we want to build a website but there is one common reason that we all have
You build a website because you have a purpose. And the main purpose is to get people to see your website. Yes or no?You don’t build a website and hide it. You build a website for people to see it. You build a website for people to go in and check it out.You build a website to get visitors, to get traffic.
The best kind of visitors, the best kind of traffic, come from the search engines. Why?Because Peoplewho are searching are in ‘focus mode’ – they are looking for something. Unlike in Facebook, where people are flittering around – looking at profiles, etc…If they are looking for a product, or service, they are further in the sales funnel. If they are looking for information, they are further in their research.Visitors coming from search are always relevant visitors. How you can get more search traffic depends on your website’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
SEO is basically the art and science of ranking higher in the search engines for your targeted keywords / keyphrases. It deals with a lot of things, it has a lot of factors – but right now We’ll be focusing on just the foundation of SEO. On site Optimization
On site optimization deals with all the things you can do within your website. These factors are ‘on-site’ meaning the are everything that are in your website – that you can manipulate and change at will.On site optimization is roughly around 23% of your entire SEO factor – but it is a foundational factor. The other 77% comes from off-site optimization.First things first. Let’s talk about the…
The title tag is arguably the most significant factor in your on site optimization. It summarizes what the content of the page is about. A good title tag should be maxed at around 70 characters.
Beyond 70 words, your title tag will not be displayed by Google in the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) anymore. It will be shown in the form of an ellipsis (…) I’ve seen the power of title tags a lot of times. Having the best, exact-match title tag can really pull you up the ranks.
Keywords / Keyphrases are the cornerstone of your website’s SEO. Without keywords, there can be no SEO.Keyword density deals with the ratio of your keywords in light of the total number of indexable words placed in your webpage. For example, you have 100 words article, then having a 1% keyword ratio means that you should have the presence of your keyword one time within that 100 word text. The suggested keyword density for Google is 1-3%
Understanding keyword prominence, frequency and proximity can help you leverage the power and placing of your keywords in your website.
Keyword Prominence deals with how eye-catching your keywords are within a web page. The important keywords should be the most prominent in your webpage. For example:Do you see that the keyphrase I’m trying to target “Your sex drive is not the problem” is very prominent in the page as it is my article’s title? It is at a good place in my webpage with good fonts and height. That spells out prominence.
Keyword frequency deals with the number of times you let your keyword or keyphrase appear in a webpage. It is said that the more times a keyword appears in your webpage, the more relevance a search engine will likely attribute to it whenever a user would search for those keywords.Again, there is a fine line between keyword stuffing and having a good keyword frequency. Watch how many times you repeat those keywords and make sure that your article makes sense. In fact, I would advise you to just be a little mindful of your keyword frequency – don’t force it or put too much emphasis on it.
Keyword proximity deals with the closeness between two or more keywords with each other. The idea is the closer the keywords are to each other, the better. Let me give you an Example
“How your on site optimization will affect your search engine rankings”“How your on site optimization will affect your rankings in search engines”There ain’t much difference, is there? But if someone searches “Search engine rankings” it is more likely that the previous phrase will rank higher than the latter. This scenario is within the context and assumption that all else is equal for both pages. It ain’t a huge factor, but knowing these little things matter.
You’ve got a link here and a link there. The internet is full of links. Each time you click a link, chances are, it means you’re traveling from a certain webpage to another.Outbound links are links that are meant to take you elsewhere. These are links that are going to direct you to another specific webpage or website outside of your website. Most, if not all, websites have outbound links. Before we talk further about oubound links, I want you to understand one important metric from Google.
Let me introduce you to Google Pagerank. PageRank (PR) is a metric of 1 – 10 used by Google to gauge your Linkjuice. You can think of linkjuice as oil – the more oil you have, the higher you are in the pagerank scoring systemEverytime you get a great link, your Pagerank increases coz you have more linkjuiceConsequently, everytime you give out a link, your pagerank decreases a bit coz of that outbound link
Optimizing your outbound links is all about limiting them. If you don’t need to give links to this webpage, don’t. This will increase your ability to rank higher because you have a higher pagerank score – meaning you have a lot of linkjuice coming in and little going out.http://pagerankchecker.info
How can you make your images rank? Anyone? How can you make your images rank?
Can you hide words inside the images? This is the Image Alt Text
The image alt text is a code-level attribute of an image written in HTML format. If your image does not load or if a user has an ‘HTML’ only setting in his/her browser, all the user will see is your image alt text.Remember that a search engine is not really a physical engine, it’s also just a bunch of codes that goes through the entire internet to save all the codes in its database so that it can retrieve all those data whenever someone types in a query. “Discuss about search engine spiders and indexing”It is not capable of seeing an image described at eye-level. Search engines initially determines the relevance of an image to a keyword with the img alt txt.
In simple terms, a Sitemap is an XML file that is full of your individual webpage’s URLs. It’s like an archive of every webpage in your website. This file should be easily discoverable in your site in order for search engine crawlers to stumble upon it.
Search engines should see all the pages that you want them to see. The more pages that they index from you, the more trust your site gains. It only means that your website has more information to offer. You can create your own XML sitemap from xml-sitemaps.com
URL slugs are the exact address of a specific website. It is the location where webpages are accessed when typing their URL in the address bar. Optimizing URL slugs is not a very hard thing to do. But if you ask me, it is one of the most important things you can do in your on site optimization process.
If you didn’t know, the URL slugs that you use in your webpage will appear in the SERPs. This is visible to all people who are searching in the web. For this example, I have searched for the keyphrase ‘Title Tag Optimization’. The URL slug in the picture says /title-tag-optimization-guide/ which is good. People who see this result would say ‘Bingo’.But what if my URL slug says /how-to-properly-give-your-dog-a-name/ then it starts to confuse searchers. It just doesn’t add up.Some people just don’t get it. Sometimes they write out their URL slugs to be http://www.example.com/10395embislgm-potllz1.phpIt’s just gibberish – both for people and consequently for search engines too – because search engines are just mimicking as to how people respond to search query results.
Internal linking (or interlinking as I’d like to call it for short) is one method that SEO specialists use to distribute good, relevant Pagerank to each webpage that are related to each other’s content. Interlinking your webpages inside your website does not only help people find relevant content in the webpage they are reading, it also helps search engine spiders have an easier time crawling your website and seeing the relevance with each page.
I’m sure you have a lot in mind of the things you can apply to your website with all the things you’ve learned today.
I don’t want to overload you with more information
And I think the best way to go through in SEO is to stick to the basics
So there you have it. On site optimization in a one-hour nutshell
