Roundworms of the phylum Nematoda have elongated cylindrical bodies covered in a tough cuticle. They have a complete digestive tract that is a tube-within-a-tube body plan. Nematodes possess a pseudocoelom rather than a true coelom. Segmented annelid worms are distinguished by their externally divided bodies. They also have a tube-within-a-tube body plan with a fluid-filled coelom between the inner and outer tubes. The coelom contains mesoderm and holds the body organs in place. Annelids are divided into three classes: Polychaeta, Oligochaeta, and Hirudinea.
