Biography on Jacqueline Kennedy
Jacqueline Bouvier, known commonly as Jackie, was a young, gorgeous woman who had the world in
her hands. Coming from a wealthy family, she had many opportunities in her life. She took advantage
of the many opportunities, traveling the world and attending college to fulfill her lifelong dream of
becoming a photographer. Jackie perused her career dream with a job as the Inquiring Camera Girl for
the Washington Times Herald newspaper, in 1951 (Life of Jacqueline B. Kennedy). Her job included
interviewing and capturing photographs of well known people, including many political figures.
During her time with the Washington Times Herald, she met a man that changed her life forever. John
Fitzgerald Kennedy, also known as Jack or JFK, was a congressman and soon to be senator from
Massachusetts. Jackie and Jack hit it off from the start, and became married in the fall of 1953 (Life of
Jacqueline B. Kennedy). Now known as Jackie Kennedy, her life began to change as she and her
husband were in the middle of the political world. Their life together started off a fairytale, but ended
as a nightmare when the couple faced many hardships. In the end, Jackie was alone and was left to
face the world without the love of her life. During her time in and out of the spotlight, Jacqueline
Kennedy proves to be the most inspirational woman due to her strong courage during hard times, her
life full of tragedy, her strength and toughness through unwanted fame, and mainly for her sense of

The Causes Of World War I
World War I was also known as the First World War or the Great War. It was an international conflict
from 1914 1918 that involved most of the countries in Europe, the United States, the Middle East,
Russia, and others (World War I). World War I had some major events like the sinking of the
Lusitania, The First Battle of Marne, and The Russian Revolution.
In 1900 the British Empire was spread over five continents, and France had control of large amounts
of Africa. This created a fight between them and Germany for land. Between the empires, militarism,
and nationalism there was so much competition that it created a war. Militarism was a major cause of
World War I. The governments had given the military so much power that Germany, France, and
Britain were in a major race to have the best military that could claim and protect the seas around their
country. Nationalism was also a huge cause of World War I because everyone believed their country
was best, which led to people fighting over whose country was better (Crocker).
World War I started after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914, and lasted
until 1918. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand was blamed on the Serbian government. In early July
the Serbian government was convinced that Austria Hungary was ready for war so the Serbians
ordered their Army to mobilize. On July 5, 1914, Austria Hungary got a secret alliance from Germany.
On July 28, 1914, Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. Throughout

Batman What Type Of Character Is The Joker
There is no character who is really like no other in the world of comic book villains, and that character
is the Joker. Which would be hard for a person to actually find a character who is deep and this
disturbed in the world of comic book villains? The mind that originated him, Jerry Robinson, must
have been a very twisted person, undoubtedly. The Joker represents a theory about existence that part
of me believes that all people wish we could embrace in our own way. He is an outrageous character,
the stuff he does to other people is the lowest of the lows. The Joker is also a fascinating character,
with an interesting world view, which is why he is my favorite villain. He has so many characteristics
that make him even more interesting, like his history, his character, and how is he portrayed.
First of all, there is an argument as to where he actually came from. Different movies and comics have
had different points of view. There is no back story for his character. The Joker has always had a
durable history of crime, of course, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It really captured him in the best way possible. The film showed a brilliant criminal mind who got
bored doing what normal criminals do. His apathy led him to seek out Batman. He spent the whole
movie just trying to make a point that Batman was just as corruptible as the rest of us. He nearly
destroyed half of Gotham to in the process, but that was the extent of what he wanted to do. The little
dialogue between Batman and the Joker at the police station showed it best. He didn t care about
anything, other than chaos. The Joker is a purification about the dark side of a part of us that we don t
acknowledge. He is part of the darker side of the way of thinking, not only does he not wants to follow
the rules of society, but he actively seeks to destroy the rules as we understand them. In his mind,
chaos is the only actual truth in the

average time. Whereas, non optimizing objectives include, type of location dependence of objective
functions like weighted or un weighted, some or all points in the region, inter service distances,
absolute server location and distribution facility as per the demand points. Location problems
depending on decision variables include the probable decision variables as, facility location, service or
dispatch priorities, number of servers, types of products produced by each server, queue capacity,
server volume and routing of server. The objective of deciding system parameters consist of
parameters related to topological structure as, link, tree, and network, plane, directed and undirected.

Kinetic Resolution
Intro Kinetic resolution of a various esters was conducted, where the esters differed by a single
substituent. The substituents para to the aromatic ring were a hydrogen, methyl group, fluorine,
bromine, and chlorine atoms. The varying para substituents influence on efficiency of separating a
racemic mixture into an enantioenriched reactant and product was assessed. The esters were formed
from a given set of ketones as the starting material and reduced into a racemic alcohol followed by
acetylation; the product was a racemic mixture of esters(1). In contrast, the kinetic resolution itself
was conducted using the racemic ester produced from the acetylation, and introduced in the presence
of an enantioselective lipase in order to produce an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hydrogen and methyl substituents had the greatest E values, 12.4 and 10.8 respectively, when
compared to the halogen substituents whose E values ranged from ~8 4 (9). This apparent trend
depicting halogens to having the lowest enantioselectivity goes against the hypothesis that was made
stating that halogens, specifically the ester with a bromine substituent would have the greatest
enantioselectivity. Though halogens may have a lower enantioselectivity value, this is mostly due to
their %ee rather than the actual percent conversion from ester to alcohol. Furthermore the esters with
halogenic substituents had the greatest percent conversion from ester to alcohol: bromine 73.0%,
fluorine 43.0%, and chlorine 27.9% (9). This is compared to lower percent conversion from the esters
with a methyl or hydrogen substituent in the para position of the benzene ring; values of 14.9% and
27.5% respectively (9). This would reflect that notion that since the halogenic substituents are more
electron withdrawing there was a greater inductive effect to stabilize the tetrahedral intermediate,
which lowers the activation energy resulting in a great percent conversion of ester in to alcohol.
However higher reactivity did not imply greater selectivity for the R enantiomer. In contrast to the
high percent

Colin Kaepernick s Argument Against Social Injustice
Just a few years ago, the United States National Anthem was not considered to be controversial in the
least. Insert Colin Kaepernick who started kneeling during the anthem to bring awareness against
social injustice to minorities in the 2016 season. When asked why he refused to stand for the anthem
during a pre season game he explained, I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country
that oppresses black people and people of color. ... There are bodies in the street and people getting
paid leave and getting away with murder. This initial protest and statement created a firestorm over the
next two seasons where many players and even entire teams decided to join Kaepernick s protest. At
the end of last season, though, the issue had virtually disappeared. Seemingly very few, if anyone, was
kneeling anymore and media coverage was insignificant compared to the ... Show more content on

I take great pride in the fact that I am blessed to live in the greatest country on earth who has been a
beacon of freedom for the rest of the world. That said my opinion is inconsequential in the grand
scheme of things. The only opinion(s) that ultimately matter on this topic is the 32 owners in the NFL,
and they unanimously voted to confirm this new policy. It has been called out that these owners are
suppressing free speech and it is unconstitutional. While the first amendment is the bedrock of our
society, the owners are completely within their rights. You see when they go to work there are
company personal conduct guidelines, same as every American working today. These policies dictate
what we can and cannot do, where we can do them, and when. Ultimately if the boss (owners) says
not to kneel during the anthem, you don t kneel. If the boss is ok or embraces it, then the worker
(player) is well within his right to exercise his free speech. That is not the case the in the NFL

Every family has a unique way of celebrating the holidays. Some may have wacky traditions, secret
family recipes, and just interesting meals. My family has some interesting traditions that are much
different than most people´s. Such as out yearly baseball game, or our assortment of gravy. Many
other families have goofy traditions and meals as well, you just wait. All families have different meals
on Thanksgiving, such as the oh so famous turkey dinner. While most families stick with tradition and
bake a turkey, others have ham. My family has both ham and turkey on Thanksgiving, this is to please
the conservatives. Another student in the class has only ham for thanksgiving which most people
might find wacky. While some families have only

Discipline
Discipline
Discipline is the process of teaching the child what type of behavior is acceptable and what type is not
acceptable, it teaches a child to follow rules. Discipline may involve both punishment, such as a time
out, and, more importantly, rewards. It sounds so straightforward, yet every parent becomes frustrated
at one time or another with issues surrounding children and discipline.
Every parent wants their children to be happy, respectful, respected by others, and able to find their
place in the world as well behaved adults. Nobody wants to be accused of raising a spoiled brat. Our
responsibility as a parent is to help our child become self reliant, respectful, and self controlled.

But our goal should not be to turn him into someone he is not.
As my children grew and began to understand the connection between actions and consequences, I
started communicating the rules of our family s home, explained what I expect of them.
Even when disciplining my children I show respect they are more likely to respect me, other family
members, and other people in their life. If I lose it or overreact with disrespect, I apologize. Actually I
behave the way I want them to behave.
For instance, the first time my 3 year old son used pencil to decorate the bedroom wall, I discussed
why that s not allowed and what will happen if he will do it again he will have to help clean the wall
and will not be able to use the pencils for the rest of the day. I explained also that pencils are for paper
only and not for wall.
In other words I establish this kind of I set the rules and you re expected to listen or accept the
consequences standard. Consistency is the key to effective discipline, and it s important to decide what
the rules are and then uphold them. Timeouts also can work well for kids at this age, however I didn t
give them timeouts.
I always reward good behaviors. I know how positive effect my praise can have discipline is not just
about punishment but also about recognizing good behavior.

Routers
A router is a device that helps packets of information get to their destination using the best route
possible. Sometimes a server or network can get too busy/overloaded and the router will have to send
packets on a different route, but they will all still be sent to the same destination. It s similar to how
you would plan a route to work if you were driving, there s some roads that could be congested with
traffic or have road works, you will have to try and work around avoiding them roads. While it is an
alternative route, you will still get to the same destination. Below is a picture of a router and how a

Holocaust-concentration Camps Essay
Concentration Camps
Concentration Camps were a big part of the Holocaust. My first topic is the concentration camp
Dachau. Then I will talk about another concentration camp called Bergen Belsen. After that, I will tell
you about the concentration camp Treblinka. Finally, the last concentration I will talk about is
Auschwitz Birkenau. Describing these camps will inform you that concentration camps were a huge
part of the Holocaust.
Dachau was a devastating concentration camp of the Holocaust. Dachau was built in 1933. At first, it
was a extermination camp for Jewish people and political prisoners. Then it became a full time
concentration camp for prisoners. In 1943, the Nazis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had some mass graves to put the bodies in, but most were just lying around. The most famous
person from this camp was Anne Frank. Her diary lead today s generation to fully understand this
period of time. When the camp was liberated on April 15, 1945, the British found 10,000 unburied
bodies, and 40,000 sick, starving, or wounded. Thus proves this camp was one of the most horrifying
camps of the Holocaust.
Another camp called Treblinka was a pure killing center. This death camp opened in 1942, making it
one of the last death camps to open. The whole purpose of this place was to kill Jews. They did this
with 13 carbon monoxide chambers. The people were sent to the camp by trains, unloaded, and sent
into changing rooms. They were forced to give up their clothes and put new ones on. They were sent
to either so called quot;showers quot;, or a mass grave where they were shot. The carbon monoxide
chambers were disguised as the quot;showers. quot; As soon as the Jews were in, they locked the
doors and started pouring gas into them. This was the way they killed the prisoners. The Nazis killed
about 50,000 people per month, making it the most efficient concentration camps ever made. This
made Treblinka a pure killing center.
The most notorious concentration camp ever was Auschwitz Birkenau. Auschwitz was opened in April
of 1940. It became the first Annihilation death camp. It was also the largest death camp.

Age Verification on Social Networking Sites
Today, social networking websites like Facebook and MySpace are some of the most visited websites
on the Internet. Minors have played a significant role in the popularity and success of social
networking. With children having such an active presence on these types of sites, parents and
legislators alike are concerned about the child s online safety. A common suggestion is age
verification. Ideally, age verification would exclude users over a specified age or under a specified
age. However, age verification for social networking sites has its flaws. In Adam Thierer s article,

Most parents and children see age verification and they feel they are entering a safe online area. They
let their guard down and this is when the users become most vulnerable. Cardillo goes on to explain
how this could allow for convicted sex offender could be verified. Mandated age verification, as
proposed, would allow the hundreds of thousands of offenders ... who are over 18, unrestricted access
to sites. Worse, it would allow these offenders the ability to vouch for children that might or might not
exist. This is where it gets dangerous. Not only is there a general misunderstanding, there is a risk for
false positive verification. There is no age verification that is 100% accurate. The article noted that
Cardillo tested the security processes on Imbee.com. Cardillo and his security team were able to create
several fake children because of Imbee s process of third parties vouching for minors. Cardillo used a
fake name for the parent, another fake name for the Yahoo! e mail account and his own credit card
information. Imbee allowed him access to the site and his fake child account had access to chat with
other children on Imbee. This clearly shows the danger in false positive age verification. Verified user

Cheerleading Essay
The sport of cheerleading has been around for a long time; since 1884 in fact! In the beginning, cheer
was a sport dominated by college men. Since, women have taken over, and in 1967 the first ranked
college cheer competition was held. Both school and competitive cheerleading offer many rewarding
opportunities. Though they are a part of the same sport, the two types of squads are actually quite
diverse. School cheer is undeniably a worthwhile and respectable sport, but competitive teams often
provide a more challenging approach, and are more suited to experienced cheerleaders.
Because school teams are intended to promote school spirit, the routines are typically directed towards
the crowd, and they tend to be catchy and simple in order to best engage spectators. These
performances often involve attention ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gyms will often hold practices four or more days of the week. Competitions are often on the
weekends, and cheerleaders will usually have to make the drive themselves or be driven by family
members, as most gyms wouldn t have the funding for a team bus.
Costs of school cheer include: paying for uniforms, bows, shoes, and travel costs for away games.
Many schools may hold fundraisers or have booster clubs to help pay for the cheerleaders, as well as
other teams. In the case that the costs involved with cheering are more than a family can afford,
schools and coaches will often be willing to work out a way that the cheerleader will still be allowed
to participate.
The costs of competing through a private gym is far more substantial than school cheer. Not only does
one often have to pay for the cost of multiple uniforms and bows; special makeup, shoes, enrollment
in the gym, and competition entrance fees are also significant expenses. In addition, gyms typically
place the monetary responsibility on families; if a participant cannot afford the designated fees, they

The Economic And Trade Globalization
With the development of science and technology as well as transportation, economic and trade
globalization in gradually, most companies are not satisfied with the domestic market, and began to
open up markets in other countries, which is the origin of multinational enterprises. However, since
the environment of the market is different from the host country, such as natural conditions, socio
cultural, or customer needs, which is particularly difficult to deal with the situation when to enter the
market of a country, it will need to face the corresponding political risk. Political risk is a type of
foreign exchange risk, thence, a prerequisite of political risk and foreign exchange risk of the
occurrence of a prerequisite is the same, namely businesses or investors must hold foreign direct
investment (Foreign Direct Investment), otherwise, there would not be political risks (Jensen, 2003).
Therefore, for multinational enterprises, the economic benefit was on the most important position, and
even beyond the political relations such as social system, human ideology, or challenge the traditional,
however, for the country to say that in terms of national security goals happen with the economic
interests if they have conflicting objective, the state will first meet the security objective, it would be
more stressful for multinational enterprises in political risk.

What Does The Dream Of The Rood Mean
The Dream of the Rood is a work which inspires one to think, to contemplate, and to begin to better
understand one s own faith. The Rood tells us of its life, from being a tree to being the instrument in
Christ s death to its visions after Christ s death, burial, and resurrection. I felt the Rood s agony as it
became an unwilling participant in the death of the Lord. The purpose of this poem is to bring the
glory back to God, reflecting on his goodness and his purposes in the earth. The dreamer, who heard
and recounted the Rood s story, ends with hope in Christ and a hope in the future of everlasting life in
heaven.
The Rood communicates to the dreamer that God recognizes this type of faith. For its tremendous self
discipline and submission to the Lord s will, the Rood gains a rich reward. Just as Christ s obedience
to his Father was recognized by God, the Rood s faithfulness is also acknowledged. He stresses the
notion that the gift of salvation is so great that it transcends human understanding. The gift of
redemption, which assures man pardon of his sins and never ending happiness in the presence of his
creator, is so immense that it cannot be fully understood in human terms. On the basis of cultural and
ethical concepts valid in this life, man may be able to comprehend part of the mystery of Christ s self
sacrifice, but not the fullness of God s grace. By twisting the theme of service, the poet urges his
audience to give to God the return gift that he demands,

The European Union As A European Community
The European Union formed in 1956, firstly as a European Community until further expansion. The
Union was not the first attempt at European cooperation, but it has been the boldest in conception, the
most developed and the most successful, (Watts). With the first countries to join such as Belgium,
France, Germany, Italy and Holland, then many other countries joining for years after. It was formed
in search of mutual benefit between the European countries after the impact that World War II took on
Europe, and it created a huge benefit for Europe and its citizens, allowing travel to citizens freely
within Europe, but in recent years we have seen a surplus of people wanting to come to Europe.
While, the European Union has been a strong advantage for Europe, the open borders have become
out of control and the future does not look as promising.
With European countries allowing an open border, meaning anyone within Europe could travel and
live wherever they pleased was great for the people of Europe, but this now has made complications.
Since 2011, an estimated 200,000 Syrians have died from the conflict within their borders, and close
to half of the country s residents have been uprooted. Roughly 3.5 m illion people are categorized as
internally displaced, while 3 million have fled the country, (Hussein). While not all 3 million have
been fleeing to Europe, they actually started to escape to their neighboring countries such as Lebanon,

History Of Roman Number Symbols
The history of Roman Number Symbol are represented by letters. The Roman numerbs are
represented by seven different letters are I, V, X, L, and D. Therefore, these roman letters represent 1,
5, 10, 100, and 500. Ancient Roman use these seven letters to make a lot of different numbers and to
be written of the Roman alphabet. In the Etruscans was an ancient civilization of Italy developed their
own numeral system with different symbols. A common theory of the origin Roman numeral system
was represented by hand signal. For example, the Roman numeral system by hand signal was used
like one, two, three and four signaled by the equivalent amount of fingers that were used. Then, The
number five is represented by the thumb and fingers separated, making a V shape and The number ten
is represented by either crossing the thumbs or hands, signaling an X shape (Pollard). Therefore, the
numbers; six, seven, eight and nine are represented by one hand signaling a five and the other
representing the number 1 through to 4. The hand signal was used for counting by either crossing the

Effects Of Inspiration In Edgar Allan Poe
Title: Finding Inspiration Through Catastrophe Edgar Allan Poe once said, With me, poetry has not
been a purpose, but a passion. When stressed, literature was his coping mechanism, and through
observation, many grasp how much death encompassed Poe. Although not appreciated during his era,
he revolutionized mystery with mesmerizing story plots that yield suspense but also make readers
question his stability. Most importantly, unlike those famous during his lifetime, Poe s legacy will live
on. Moreover, throughout life, Poe experienced catastrophes, and because of this, writing became his
creative outlet. Poe parents, Elizabeth and David, both aspiring actors, died when he was three.
Although he remembered them briefly, their demise altered his outlook on life. Nevertheless, refuge
found him through John and Francis Allan, who accepted his ambitions with reluctance as they
envisioned him managing the family business. While growing up, they urged him again and again in
leaning towards another career, but his passions outweighed their gratification. Since he remained
stubborn, they provided him with little support during college years. Consequently, Poe fell into a
large amount of debt and began gambling. Therefore, stricken by destitution and humiliated, he quit
school and traveled home, only to discover his girlfriend with another man. Overall, Poe s youth was
marked by ill fated events which became the building blocks for his writing. For instance, in The Cask

Martin Luther s Efforts To Reform The Church
Mannerism emerged as a result of social, scientific, religious, and political movements such as
the,Copernican Model, Sack of Rome, and the Protestant Reformation. The Copernican Model is the
astronomical model developed by Nicolaus Copernicus and published in 1543. It positioned the sun
near the center of the Universe, motionless, with Earth and other planets rotating around it in circular
paths modified by epicycles and at uniform speed. Religion had been in conflict with heliocentrism
because it was questioning religious statements. Martin Luther wanted Nicolaus to publish his theory
and prove how the Sun was indeed in the center rather than the earth. Nicolaus began his statement in
1506 and finished it in 1530 but did not publish it until ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Luther began his reformation by sending his 95 Theses to all christian churches. These theses were a
list of concerns with Church practices and doctrine. There were many ideas that Luther disagreed
with, one being indulgence. The sale of indulgences was a practice where the church acknowledged a
donation or other charitable work with a piece of paper (an indulgence), that certified that your soul
would enter heaven more quickly by reducing your time in purgatory. Pope Leo X, had granted
indulgences to raise money for the reconstruction of St. Peter s Basilica in Rome. Luther then turned
to the bible as the only reliable source. With the printing press invention and the help of translation,
meant it was possible for those who can read to learn the bible. Now, a direct relation with God was
available to almost anyone for an affordable price. When Luther and other reformers began to look at
the wording of the bible, they found themselves discovering that practices and teachings of the church

Dissonance In Music
When listening to music, some people experience a strong emotional reaction towards it with
something that can be described as a tingling sensation running through the body (a.k.a.: chills ).
These chills are very distinct and clear, so they can be used in a scientific study involving music. In
previous studies, researchers have found that there is activity in certain regions of the brain which
relate to feelings caused by music that sounds jarring, or clashing tones of music. In the past, these
regions of the brain have been found to relate to emotion. However, the regions of the brain related to
musical dissonance were different when compared to the neocortical parts of the brain (which are

Motivate, Delegate and Empower

Review own ability to motivate, delegate and empower others
For any business to be successful it needs motivated employees. They are the single most important
factor in the long term success of an organisation.
Empowerment refers to the employee s feeling of being effective, in control and influential.
Furthermore, empowerment positively impacts motivation, and motivation leads to better
performance.
Maslow s hierarchy of needs provides a foundational theory. It states that all employees have some
basic needs that must first be satisfied in order to provide the framework for further motivation and
empowerment.
There are five levels in the hierarchy: * Physiological needs * Safety and security needs * Love or ...

Herzberg showed that to truly motivate an employee a business needs to create conditions that make
him or her feel fulfilled in the workplace.
Delegation is one of the most important management skills as it empowers the team member to make
decisions. However, the person who delegated the work remains accountable for the outcome of the
delegated work.
Delegation can save money and time, help in building skills, and motivate people. Poor delegation, on
the other hand, might cause frustration and confusion to all the involved parties.
Tannenbaum amp; Schmidt defined 7 levels of delegated freedom which moves from manager
oriented to subordinate oriented. As the team develops, the area of freedom for the subordinate
increases and the need for the manager s intervention decreases.
Within my team I have tried to improve motivation through several initiatives:
One member of my team seemed to be becoming disillusioned with her role and so I spent some time
with her trying to establish the root cause of this.
Having asked several questions I established that she felt bored with her daily routine and wanted a
fresh challenge.
I took notes of our meeting and produced a plan with her which involved a gradual phasing in of more

Gettysburg Address is one of the important dictations of values that provided much needed direction

This assertion can be affirmed with the speech s enduring presence in the US culture. Notwithstanding

The Text of the Gettysburg Address
Soon after Everett s overall appropriated comments, Lincoln gave his address that lasted only a couple
of minutes. In this short time, he used ten sentences to aptly summarize the war and the way ahead for
the United States.
The five known composition copies of the Gettysburg Address are named for the individuals who
obtained it from Lincoln. Lincoln provides a copy to his private secretaries, John Hay and John
Nicolay. Both of the aforementioned copies were composed around the time of his November 19
address, while the other three duplicates of the speech, the Bliss, Bancroft, and Everett duplicates, and
were composed by President Lincoln for philanthropic purposes. These copies were sent well later to
November 19, the actual date of the famous address. Since then these copies have ended up being the
standard content of Lincoln s Gettysburg Address (LoC, 2012).
Both the Nicolay and Hay duplicates of the Address are inside the Library of Congress. It is enclosed
in exceptionally manufactured, temperature regulated; argon gas filled and sealed containers. The idea
is to ensure that the original copy is safe from gradual continued deterioration and oxidation (LoC,

The Causes Of Air Pollution In Beijing, China
Beijing, China has a coal mining history of nearly 800 and some odd years. This has been a major air
pollutant and the main reason for it is because its economy has grown substantially in the last 30
years. Worldwide, there are twenty cities with the highest, worst air pollution, sixteen of those cities
are within China alone. The main causes of Beijing s air pollution can be pointed to several factors.
Large economical growth, an increase in vehicles on the roads, growth in population, and
manufacturing. China has also experienced major economic growth with a large rise in Gross
Domestic Product. This increase can be connected with pollution. Vehicles are just one contributor to
pollution which we will discuss later in this paper. The population growth in Beijing contributes to a
big portion of its pollution. The population has risen from 11 million to 16 million in just 7 years, and
has nearly doubled over the past century. Factories that utilize coal burning contribute to the smog
currently present in Beijing. Many of these factories depend on outdated and inefficient technology
which emits air pollutants. Beijing is a victim of its own topography since it s surrounded by
mountains which traps pollution within the city. Air quality worsens in the spring and summer seasons
when the humidity and temperature levels increase. Air pollution has been so drastic to the point that
the city often engulfs in smog making it near zero visibility which in turn causing road

Buffalo Bill Annotation
The American frontier is an era of great pride and taming of the nature with the will to conquer.
American society is taught to never give up and peruse one s dream, to value that dream and do
whatever it takes in order to achieve it. Although this provides a double edged sword for society as it
can be the will on one side, but also be the downfall on another. For if any person is supposed to truly
resemble the American frontier, then Buffalo Bill would be that image. Yet, in a Native American
perspective, his double edged sword is a continually growing downfall for the culture. Sherman Alexie
s poem Evolution shows an ever growing dived in reservations around America and the effects from
its own poison. For when Buffalo Bill opens a pawn shop on the reservation, natives flee to the shop

It is the perspective also into the past as well. For when the actual Buffalo Bill was born, indigenous
groups further west were ousted from their lands just like those in the East. The sun essentially sets on
the rise and fall of the Native people in this poem because it shows how a white man came into a
reservation and caused the same 200 hundred year old pain again. Not only is there that pain, Buffalo
Bill has the bill that Native Americans pay in order to destroy their own legacy. The reservation only
gets smaller as the Natives leave and the blood toxicity lessens while the blood alcohol levels increase.
True indigenous people and their descendants are essentially evolving into a new breed of people, and
the only relict to show their presence is when Buffalo Bill closes the pawn shop and paints a new sign
over. Calling it the THE MUSEUM OF NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURES. Yet to even know about
such information, Buffalo Bill requires that one pay the bill, and this only results in seeing the things
the same Native people had just

Sexuality Is A Social Identity That Goes Beyond The...
Sexuality is a social identity that goes beyond the objectivity of the title and into the subjective scope
of the personal lives of individuals, which in turn fabricate the social constructivism of a nation.
Classism, heterosexism, and cisgenderism are further reinforced within the institutionalization of
heteronormativity, being the promotion of the gender binary and heterosexuality as the only valid form
of gender expression and sexual orientation. The normalization of this system is not enforced as
inconspicuously as one would believe, with both Western and Eastern countries visibly dictating social
norms in regards to sexuality, by deeming certain sexual practices as socially acceptable through the

These American words which are typically used to further define and label individuals who do and do
not fall within the classifications of heteronormativity are used as the result of there being no cultural
explanation and validation for lesbian Thai women. The omittance of a translation for the term lesbian
in the Thai language further perpetuates the validation of heteronormativity as the only acceptable
form of relationships. The term men being used interchangeably with lesbian demonstrates how in the
Thai culture it is assumed and widely agreed that only men would be sexually attracted to women
(Sinnott, 2).
For Asian women, their sexuality has not only impacted their identity, that identity in itself has created
a power structure within each of these countries that has grown to include, but not outwardly accept
the sexual practices of marginalized groups of women. In Thailand specifically, it is made known that
homosexual behavior does not necessarily lead to an identity, nor does it necessarily constitute a
distinct transgression of sexual or gender norms , yet the secularization of queer women leads to class
divides, and sociocultural boundaries with the intention of exclusion (Sinnott, 3). Despite a vast array

The Book Shane, By Jack Gow
Honorable and Courageous Manhood
The theme in the book Shane, by Jack Schaefer, portrays that true manhood consists not of bravado or
status, but of character, honor, and loyalty. The main character is a man named Shane, who rides into a
small valley mysteriously at the beginning of the book and takes a position as the aid of a farmer, Joe
Starett. When Shane arrives, Joe and the other farmers of the valley are struggling, while the rancher
Fletcher is the highest valley authority. The townspeople and Bob, Joe s son, struggle to discover what
make a man honorable and manly. They hold Fletcher and his cowboys as authorities, manly men in a
culture that admires this, because of the glamour of their profession. Fletcher s confidence and
bravado, as well as his profession and position, appear to the townspeople to be the epitome of
manhood. Bob falls into this easy way of thinking as well; he says that before Shane came into his life
his highest aspiration was to become like his father, but his ambition was to first be a cowboy. Bob
visualizes himself riding through the country: rough, strong, free, and well liked. After Shane arrives,
Bob starts thinking about true manhood, comparing his father, Shane, Fletcher, and the cowboys. He
realizes that manhood is not being like Fletcher, with shows of bravado designed to insult others, but
instead is standing up for your family and principles when necessary. Bob also learns that manhood
has to do a great deal with character, finding

How To Write A Persuasive Essay On Kendrick Lamar

After examining Trader Joe s, and comparing it to Michael Porter s generic strategies it was not very
clear which method it was attempting to follow. It possesses qualities of both differentiation as well as

method because of how it runs its products. The previous CEO and founder stated. We don t carry
anything outstanding in terms of price . This is because of the way the products are run. It has a
smaller variation of products, but holds vast quantities of the item in question for a temporary amount

The Consequences Of Global Warming
The Consequences of Global Warming
What does someone think of when the topic of global warming is presented? They might think of the
earth warming, or the sun burning up, but do they think of the affects this issue has caused our Mother
Earth or think about what they do on a day to day basis as being the prime contributor to this
environmental problem? Do they realize or even worry about the next generation dying because of the
various factors of global warming? Some may think of global warming as a tale or publicly over rated,
but what they do not realize is that global warming has become one of the top three environmental
problems of the century. Some do not agree that humans are to blame, only nature going through its
natural cycle. Although, scientists around the world are now beginning to have proof of this cause and
effect we have placed on our planet which is beginning to answer the question of global warming
being real. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, The earth s average
temperature has risen by 1.4* over the past century, and it is projected to rise by another 2 to 11.5*F
over the next hundred years. Small changes in temps of the planet can translate to large and potentially
dangerous shifts in climate and weather ( Climate Change: Basic Information ). Because of human
activities, global warming has been created, which is the key component to habitat loss, extinction of
species, unpredictable weather patterns, and the chance of more

Crisis Action Or Climax In The Last Letter To My Grandmother
1. If conflict is created by a character s want or desire for something, what is it that Jackson wants?
What is standing in his way? He wants to feel like he is apart of his culture wants to connect with his
past or roots of his ancestry That regalia symbolized everything that Jackson and his family stood for.
He is the stereotypical Indian, with the alcoholism, homelessness, friends, and story telling. That
Regalia was more than just a regalia to Jackson... it was a symbol of his family.
No matter how hard he tries to get the money to buy his grandmothers dancing dress from the
pawnshop, he keeps spending his money on other people.
2. What is the crisis action or climax in the story? Remember that the crisis is the moment of greatest
tension in the story, and the moment that the main character undergoes some kind of transformation.
What change or transformation do you see in the main character?
Consider what the final paragraph of the story tells us: I took my grandmother s regalia and walked
outside. I knew that solitary yellow bead was part of me. I knew I was that yellow bead in part.
Outside, I wrapped myself in my grandmother s regalia and breathed her in. I stepped off the sidewalk
and into the intersection. Pedestrians stopped. Cars stopped. The ... Show more content on

What is particularly interesting is the way that Jackson identifies himself with the yellow bead, which
is the flaw that was sewn deliberately into the regalia to distinguish it from others. Jackson
understands that he was that yellow bead in part, seeing himself as something of a flaw because of his
problems with drink and money. However, this does not prevent him from rejoicing in reestablishing
the link he has forged with his cultural past as he dances with his grandmother and imagines being
reunited with her and his cultural heritage that is now

insecure of his/ her physical appearance by thinking that his/ her physical appearance is not impressive
or socially acceptable at all and gets obsessed involved in continuous efforts to lose weight. Their
weight loosing efforts are not healthy rather are extremely unhealthy in the form of vigorous exercises,
imbalanced diet plans intake and unsatisfying mistaken image of themselves towards them. Their
problem is not based on the reality of being as fat as they actually are but of the amount they think
they are. Their image of being fat doesn t come from the mirror but from their own mind so it is a
virtual reality. The purpose of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because problem resolution of any kind starts from identifying the true nature of problem instead of
denial, to define the challenges required to be fought to. And where there is problem, solution lies at
the center of that. So instead of deviating through denial, anorexia patients should understand that they
direly need to get out of depression and anxiety and they deserve to be happy so one way or the other,
they should get it out to understand they don t need to fight their misconception of being fat, they have
to fight the cause arising misconception, anarchy, disgust, anger, isolation, anxiety and deprivation in
their lives. And all of these are dissociating themselves from their beautiful surroundings, attention
seeking beauties of nature, their family members, their friends, their potentials and all the areas of the
community that may be bettered by their exclusive roles.
Main Body:
In USA, 20 million females and 10 million males are anorexia patient, dissatisfied with their bodies.
Moreover this trend is usually seen in youngsters from age 6 to 10, studying in schools. They first of
all start feeling complex regarding their body shapes and their chubbiness. [1] Then this complex stars
growing more and more unless some counseling or control is done. If kids get no help they might
develop such complex further into anorexia. Normally it happens to girls that at the age of 6, they start
developing their body shape and weight concerns, contrary to

European Competition Law And Policy
This essay will analyse European competition law and policy to ascertain the values and
characteristics that serve as its foundation. First, this essay will give a brief outline of competition and
the significance of competition law and policy. Subsequently, this essay will give an explanation of the
values behind European competition law and policy, which are consumer welfare, economic efficiency
and economic freedom. The values will incorporate Articles 101 and 102 TFEU along with reference
to the Chicago school of competition analysis and ordoliberalism.
Competition occurs in a free market economy where firms will endeavour to achieve business
objectives which adapt according to interactions with consumers. These objectives are profits, sales or
market share. Competition is essential for a properly functioning market as firms will be placed under
competitive pressure to provide consumers with a comprehensive choice of goods and services at the
most favourable prices. In a free market economy, government regulations or restrictions are not
applied in this economic system. Instead, it is determined by supply and demand which directs the
production of goods and services. The premise of a free market is competition between firms to enable
increased consumer welfare while promoting innovation and efficiency as there will be lower prices
and products of better quality. For competition to be effective in a free market economy, it must be
protected by competition law and

Medication Errors And Its Effects On Health Care
Medication errors have always been a problem; even today they still loom about health care facilities
such as hospitals and assisted living homes. A medication error is as an error in the process of
providing care for a patient that has potential to harm the patient. There also many different ways
those medication errors can occur, prescription, preparation, distribution, transcription, administration
and monitoring. It has been estimated by the Institute of Medicine that medication errors cause 1 of
131 outpatient and 1 of 854 inpatient deaths, (Wittich et al, 2013). Of those different ways medication
errors can happen, all of them have multiple factors that go into them that can cause an error to occur.

The five rights are something that every person administrating drugs should know about and should
use each time drug administration is being given to a patient. Later on there will be a discussion about
the five rights and what should be done in preventing medication errors.
The definition of a medication error is, an error in the process of administrating medication, which has
the potential to lead to and possibly, harm to the patient. In an article written by Teunissen et al, 38%
of all serious medication errors are related to medication administration and that the other medication
processes (i.e., ordering, transcription, and dispensing) accounted for 39%, 12%, and 11% of all
serious medication errors, respectively, (Teunissen et al, 2013). They found that time sensitive
medication errors are the most common. This study used different types of medications, including
those medications that react with food. There was a variety because some medications aren t as time
sensitive as others may be. They concluded that time sensitive errors are clinically relevant in very
few cases. Although the relevance of time errors may be small compared to other errors, clinical
consequences may still occur as a result and a reduction of this type of errors would still be favorable,
(Teunissen et al, 2013).
Other classifications of medication errors include prescribing and monitoring. Prescribing and
monitoring errors occur because

The Gross Clinic Summary
Jane Hall was an American physicist born in 1915 at a small town outside Denver Colorado. Shortly
after receiving her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago in 1942, Hall became a research
assistant at the Chicago Metallurgical Laboratory. Her reputation like so many other determined
female scientist of the time proved an excellent scientist and administrator earning her a position as a
Senior Supervisor at Hanford less than a year later. At Hanford, in addition to her normal duties, she
led several studies that uncovered information about the effects of plutonium inhalation on the human
body. After the war, Hall and her husband, David Hall, moved to Los Alamos to work for Los Alamos
National Laboratory. She was a firm believer in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Gross Clinic, the patient is completely covered up and you can only see the patient s thigh and
some parts of the mid section of the body. Both white cloth covers the entire top half of the patient and
much of the surgeon is in close proximity with the patient s body. In the Agnew Clinic, you are
allowed to see that the patient is in fact a woman patient and are allowed to see her facial expressions
and bare midsection of the body exposing the breasts of the female. This sharp transition in painting
style undoubtedly caused large amounts of unrest with the public. In today s surgery, the surgeons
only encounter the part of the body that is hurt, as in The Gross Clinic; the rest of the body is covered
up taking the human aspect out of the patient. This may be a good thing, as surgeons may perform
better without seeing the face of the individual on which they are working. Although the Agnew clinic
allows the interpreter to visualize the procedure it also allows the view to compare between the two
paintings to analyze the changes in medical

  • 3. The Causes Of World War I World War I was also known as the First World War or the Great War. It was an international conflict from 1914 1918 that involved most of the countries in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Russia, and others (World War I). World War I had some major events like the sinking of the Lusitania, The First Battle of Marne, and The Russian Revolution. In 1900 the British Empire was spread over five continents, and France had control of large amounts of Africa. This created a fight between them and Germany for land. Between the empires, militarism, and nationalism there was so much competition that it created a war. Militarism was a major cause of World War I. The governments had given the military so much power that Germany, France, and Britain were in a major race to have the best military that could claim and protect the seas around their country. Nationalism was also a huge cause of World War I because everyone believed their country was best, which led to people fighting over whose country was better (Crocker). World War I started after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914, and lasted until 1918. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand was blamed on the Serbian government. In early July the Serbian government was convinced that Austria Hungary was ready for war so the Serbians ordered their Army to mobilize. On July 5, 1914, Austria Hungary got a secret alliance from Germany. On July 28, 1914, Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. Throughout ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Which would be hard for a person to actually find a character who is deep and this disturbed in the world of comic book villains? The mind that originated him, Jerry Robinson, must have been a very twisted person, undoubtedly. The Joker represents a theory about existence that part of me believes that all people wish we could embrace in our own way. He is an outrageous character, the stuff he does to other people is the lowest of the lows. The Joker is also a fascinating character, with an interesting world view, which is why he is my favorite villain. He has so many characteristics that make him even more interesting, like his history, his character, and how is he portrayed. First of all, there is an argument as to where he actually came from. Different movies and comics have had different points of view. There is no back story for his character. The Joker has always had a durable history of crime, of course, ... He nearly destroyed half of Gotham to in the process, but that was the extent of what he wanted to do. The little dialogue between Batman and the Joker at the police station showed it best. He didn t care about anything, other than chaos. The Joker is a purification about the dark side of a part of us that we don t acknowledge. The substituents para to the aromatic ring were a hydrogen, methyl group, fluorine, bromine, and chlorine atoms. The varying para substituents influence on efficiency of separating a racemic mixture into an enantioenriched reactant and product was assessed. The esters were formed from a given set of ketones as the starting material and reduced into a racemic alcohol followed by acetylation; the product was a racemic mixture of esters(1). In contrast, the kinetic resolution itself was conducted using the racemic ester produced from the acetylation, and introduced in the presence of an enantioselective lipase in order to produce an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hydrogen and methyl substituents had the greatest E values, 12.4 and 10.8 respectively, when compared to the halogen substituents whose E values ranged from ~8 4 (9). This apparent trend depicting halogens to having the lowest enantioselectivity goes against the hypothesis that was made stating that halogens, specifically the ester with a bromine substituent would have the greatest enantioselectivity. Though halogens may have a lower enantioselectivity value, this is mostly due to their %ee rather than the actual percent conversion from ester to alcohol. Furthermore the esters with halogenic substituents had the greatest percent conversion from ester to alcohol: bromine 73.0%, fluorine 43.0%, and chlorine 27.9% (9). This is compared to lower percent conversion from the esters with a methyl or hydrogen substituent in the para position of the benzene ring; values of 14.9% and 27.5% respectively (9). This would reflect that notion that since the halogenic substituents are more electron withdrawing there was a greater inductive effect to stabilize the tetrahedral intermediate, which lowers the activation energy resulting in a great percent conversion of ester in to alcohol. However higher reactivity did not imply greater selectivity for the R enantiomer. In contrast to the high percent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Rood tells us of its life, from being a tree to being the instrument in Christ s death to its visions after Christ s death, burial, and resurrection. I felt the Rood s agony as it became an unwilling participant in the death of the Lord. The purpose of this poem is to bring the glory back to God, reflecting on his goodness and his purposes in the earth. The dreamer, who heard and recounted the Rood s story, ends with hope in Christ and a hope in the future of everlasting life in heaven. The Rood communicates to the dreamer that God recognizes this type of faith. For its tremendous self discipline and submission to the Lord s will, the Rood gains a rich reward. Just as Christ s obedience to his Father was recognized by God, the Rood s faithfulness is also acknowledged. He stresses the notion that the gift of salvation is so great that it transcends human understanding. The gift of redemption, which assures man pardon of his sins and never ending happiness in the presence of his creator, is so immense that it cannot be fully understood in human terms. When stressed, literature was his coping mechanism, and through observation, many grasp how much death encompassed Poe. Although not appreciated during his era, he revolutionized mystery with mesmerizing story plots that yield suspense but also make readers question his stability. Most importantly, unlike those famous during his lifetime, Poe s legacy will live on. Moreover, throughout life, Poe experienced catastrophes, and because of this, writing became his creative outlet. Poe parents, Elizabeth and David, both aspiring actors, died when he was three. Although he remembered them briefly, their demise altered his outlook on life. Nevertheless, refuge found him through John and Francis Allan, who accepted his ambitions with reluctance as they envisioned him managing the family business. While growing up, they urged him again and again in leaning towards another career, but his passions outweighed their gratification. Since he remained stubborn, they provided him with little support during college years. Consequently, Poe fell into a large amount of debt and began gambling. Therefore, stricken by destitution and humiliated, he quit school and traveled home, only to discover his girlfriend with another man. Overall, Poe s youth was marked by ill fated events which became the building blocks for his writing. For instance, in The Cask of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This has been a major air pollutant and the main reason for it is because its economy has grown substantially in the last 30 years. Worldwide, there are twenty cities with the highest, worst air pollution, sixteen of those cities are within China alone. The main causes of Beijing s air pollution can be pointed to several factors. Large economical growth, an increase in vehicles on the roads, growth in population, and manufacturing. China has also experienced major economic growth with a large rise in Gross Domestic Product. This increase can be connected with pollution. Vehicles are just one contributor to pollution which we will discuss later in this paper. The population growth in Beijing contributes to a big portion of its pollution. The population has risen from 11 million to 16 million in just 7 years, and has nearly doubled over the past century. Factories that utilize coal burning contribute to the smog currently present in Beijing. Many of these factories depend on outdated and inefficient technology which emits air pollutants. Beijing is a victim of its own topography since it s surrounded by mountains which traps pollution within the city. What is standing in his way? He wants to feel like he is apart of his culture wants to connect with his past or roots of his ancestry That regalia symbolized everything that Jackson and his family stood for. He is the stereotypical Indian, with the alcoholism, homelessness, friends, and story telling. That Regalia was more than just a regalia to Jackson... it was a symbol of his family. No matter how hard he tries to get the money to buy his grandmothers dancing dress from the pawnshop, he keeps spending his money on other people. 2. What is the crisis action or climax in the story? Remember that the crisis is the moment of greatest tension in the story, and the moment that the main character undergoes some kind of transformation. Jackson understands that he was that yellow bead in part, seeing himself as something of a flaw because of his problems with drink and money. However, this does not prevent him from rejoicing in reestablishing the link he has forged with his cultural past as he dances with his grandmother and imagines being reunited with her and his cultural heritage that is now ... In the Agnew Clinic, you are allowed to see that the patient is in fact a woman patient and are allowed to see her facial expressions and bare midsection of the body exposing the breasts of the female. This sharp transition in painting style undoubtedly caused large amounts of unrest with the public. In today s surgery, the surgeons only encounter the part of the body that is hurt, as in The Gross Clinic; the rest of the body is covered up taking the human aspect out of the patient. This may be a good thing, as surgeons may perform better without seeing the face of the individual on which they are working. Although the Agnew clinic allows the interpreter to visualize the procedure it also allows the view to compare between the two paintings to analyze the changes in medical ...
