anybody else. But what are the elements of a competitive company? Here are some factors that helps
the organization to become a competitor in market.
1. Cost leadership:
It is a business strategy that allows a company to lowest cost production in an industry. There are two

6. Encourage workers to talk with their leader:
Especially about their problems. Employees feel safe when they speak or ask for a help from their
leader rather than to feel fearful, this will leads to better performance outcomes. Feeling safe in the
workplace supports the spirit of experimentation for new innovations. Kamal (2015) shown that
empowerment, when coupled with good training and teamwork, leads to superior performance
outcomes whereas a range of efficient manufacturing and operations practices do not . (Kamal, 2015)
A positive workplace is the best successful place over the time because its well being and increases
positive emotions. In turn, it amplifies people s ability and creativity and improve their relationship

as bringing out their best strengths.

another ways. The process of unfreezing is sensitive culture, which means explaining why the

How Can the Government Use Biotechnology to Improve Public Health?
Biotechnology is the use of existing systems and organisms to develop products(). One sector of
Biotechnology that will help in improving public health is medical biotechnology which focuses on
genetic causes of diseases and individualized cures().The problem is that federal regulations affect
research choices and procedures that limit the potential of these study s. Public health issues range
from infectious disease to prescription drug abuse. In order for the United States government to
resolve these issues it is not only going to take state legislatures shaping the public health system
which includes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Developing countries feel the affect of infectious disease greater than anyone else. Global health is
something society works on improving every day. To improve how society battles health disparities
one must look at the science involved in curing diseases and sickness. Rapid and effective diagnostic
tools, new vaccines and drugs, and efficient delivery methods form the groundwork for a successful
public health system that will in itself lead to a global health improvement. In addition to improving
global health, poverty will also come closer to eradication which is what society strives for on a daily
basis. The application of each of these improvements in societal health problems will effectively get
people closer to achieving the common goal of eliminating disease and discovering a perfect system
that allows any individual access to health care. These means can be achieved very effectively using
biotechnology. Biotechnology has astonishing potential to address these problems and improve upon
them.
A cure for the Ebola infection has not yet been found in humans but scientists in Canada announced
the successful treatment of the infection in monkeys in 2012. This was found using combined
antibodies that agreed with the casing around the Ebola virus. This cure was found in a
Biotechnological laboratory in Winnepeg, Manitoba(). Although this may not be a cure for humans it
is a big step forward. This eliminates many difficult challenges that scientists were facing when

The Biodiversity At Lido Beach
Abstract This study investigated the biodiversity at Lido Beach in Long Island. The objective was to
investigate how biodiversity changed for areas away from human habitat. Salt marshes and wetland
are under severe threat due to irresponsible actions on the part of humans. There needs to be an
awareness and understanding in the general public as to the importance of these natural habitats and
their significance to the general ecosystem. There is enough evidence to suggest the degradation has
already happened, and how critical it is to protect salt marshes and wetlands. The results were
encouraging as they pointed in the general direction that diversity was not impacted close to the
pathway that was subjected to human traffic. However, the data collected did not point to any specific
conclusions. Nonetheless, it provided valuable information on the subject of the study. The results for
the entire class data indicated that for richness, there was a positive correlation between the family
richness of the samples and the distance from the path. Specific results for one group for each sample
point indicated that for richness, there was more richness observed near the path than away from it.
For evenness, the results indicated that as the distance from the path increased, the evenness did not
have a clear pattern, even though there was a general increase in evenness away from the path,
especially, as shown by the 30m and 50m sampling points. For proportional

Religious Authority And The Protestant Reformation
During the sixteenth century, numerous conditions and beliefs existed that cause the Protestant
Reformation. It was a religious, political, cultural and logical disturbance that had made some
Europeans split from the Catholic Church. In northern and central Europe, reformers [such as John
Calvin, Henry VIII and most importantly Martin Luther] challenged papal authority and questioned
the Catholic Church s ability to define Christian practice. The tension between the reformers and the
church triggered wars, persecutions and the Counter Reformation, also called the Catholic
Reformation. Augustine had emphasized that the bible is more a fundamental source for religious
authority than the Bible is. He also believed that humans could not reach salvation by their own act,
but only God could give salvation by his divine grace. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Catholic
Church taught that salvation was achievable through works of righteousness that made God pleased.
Martin Luther, born in the year 1483 in Thuringia (Saxony), which is what is now the country of
Germany, began to have doubts about the theological basis for much of the daily practices of the
Catholic Church. In other words, he questioned and wondered if the Catholic leaders teachings were
acceptable to the Catholic religion. He shared his two central beliefs with Augustine, which would
later form the basis of Protestantism. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church s practice of allowing
indulgences to offer absolution to

How Stella Changing Her Tone Of A Wise Prophet Essay
Stella changing her tone to that of a wise prophet, If you want her to end this shenanigan then support
her! She has had a very family oriented upbringing, but we must not tell her what to do. You do not
want her to form a rebellion, and the decision must come from her! Sol replied, Mom, I have to give
this thought. My head is hurting as bad as my heart. I have realized, I do not even know how to begin
to deal with, this , when I do not understand what, this, is. It turns my stomach at the very thought she
would be returning to the diabolical Frank. Stella yelled when she catered to the thought, NO! She
began to shake her head and implore, God! Please NOT SATAN! Impossible! NO! Not Frank! I will
break both his legs as he walks up the aisle! He is not for our Luna, or to inherit our bank accounts!
Sol, we need to find an alternative. Mauricio! Does Mauricio know? Maybe it s time he reacts. Sol
hung her head in surrender and said, On days like today, I realize how unjust I was with that poor boy
who has always loved Luna. I used him as a measure of what not to look for in a man. Misguided!
Lazy! Unmotivated! Irresponsible! Now 36 years old, works in a supermarket, barely an assistant

If one has everything he desires, why ask for more? In the passage, The Monkey s Paw, by
W.W.Jacobs, it makes clear that sometimes wanting more comes with a well effect. In this dilemma,
The White family inherits a monkey s paw that modifies the nature of the family. Therefore, the
general theme of the story is to be cautious in hunger for things because it may come increased with
unexpectancies. To commence, the White s conformed and made an inane wish for two hundred

Paperless Tickets
As a sports fan, what do you think of paperless tickets to attend a sporting event?
I believe paperless tickets are useful, considering that it provides a new, efficient, and alternative way
to accelerate the process of validating your ticket at a venue. I recently had an experience with
paperless tickets when I went to the Knicks vs. Wizards games about two weeks ago. Before attending
the game I had the tasks of printing out the tickets that my friend paid for. On the TicketMaster site,
the option paperless tickets pop up in which we received our tickets via electronically. It definitely
was a different process for me, as I have never obtained paperless tickets before, but the process of
obtaining the ticket was smooth. The ticket takers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is definitely bad on the venue and ticketing system, as what if the customer had some random
emergency and needed to sell their ticket for they cannot attend the game? This decreases the
reputation of the ticketing system, as they do not value the customer needs. They also do not provide
different options other than transferring the ticket. In other words, ticket outlets like TicketMaster
essentially own your ticket in which the customer is not in control. This can also result in negative
press for paperless tickets, as they do not allow refunds or the reselling of your

An Overview Of Financial Management And The Financial...
An Overview of Financial Management and the Financial Environment
Matthew Ellsworth
Abstract
Financial Management usually involves the process of planning, organizing and controlling the
financial activities of any enterprise to achieve the goals and objectives in financial terms of that
enterprise. The main objectives of financial management would be to create wealth for the business in
terms of movable cash for the organization and to ensure that the target return in investments is meet
at all times. The three key elements in financial management in simple terms may be put as a three
step continuous process involving financial planning, financial control and financial decision making.
In this post, we will discuss the types of company ownerships, the objectives and the derivatives.
Overview of Financial Management and Financial Environment Financial Management is concerned
with achieving the overall goals of the business firm by acquiring, financing and controlling the assets
of the firm. Financial Management can be described as an integrated decision making process as it has
a virtual impact on the achievement of the overall organizational goal. There are three key elements in
financial management namely financial planning, financial control and financial decision making. In
financial planning the management needs to ensure that enough funding is available to meet the
requirements of that business. Financial control is the most important activity which

My Culture Is An Important Aspect Of Life
Culture is an important aspect of life. It influences each individual s life, allowing them to become the
person they are. Each person contributes a small part of their culture into society, creating a broader
culture. Because I live in an urban environment where many cultures have come together, I am aware
of how it influences me daily. When I was younger culture was not something I thought about,
however, as I got older I realized that it is an important part of my life.
My culture is a mixture of both American and Sri Lankan. I notice values and practices from each
culture that I apply to my life every day. I have taken both the individualistic and communalistic
attributes from both cultures and modified them to fit me. My American influence is often displayed
when I refuse to be complacent with the sexist behaviors of the Sri Lankan culture. When these verbal
or nonverbal actions are done in front of me, I speak up for myself. Defending myself from sexist
family members and voicing my opinion is part of my American culture. If I had lived in Sri Lanka I
would not be able to do so, easily.
Growing up in America, I am able to avoid the restrictive roles imposed on women in Sri Lanka.
Although I feel proud of this aspect there are still sections of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In addition to adopting the cultural norms of America, specifically Los Angeles, I retained the cultural
norms passed to me from my parents. Although I often benefit from these two cultures, there are
instances when they conflict each other. For example, when communicating with an individual from
the Sri Lankan community I am more polite and use a more gentle tone of voice. This is often
interpreted as shy or soft spoken by an individual with an American background. Because I am often
told to speak louder, I realized that the Sri Lankan method of communication surpassed the American

Cata Spider Monkey Book Vs Movie
I choose the adaptation movie from novel twilight to make the difference between the novel and film.
The difference between watching its movie and reading its novel is the plot in the novel is more detail
compare to movie. The first reason why the novel is more detail than movie is the scene in the movie
is been cut by the director so that he can focus to an important scene only. So, the people who did not
read this novel will miss all extended plot or others character in the novel. For example in the scene of
movie, after Edward jumps out the window, he says, You better hold on tight, Spider Monkey but in

Class Structure. Two words that have a division between one another based on the spelling difference

confusion between each word. A similar role plays in the novel, The Kite Runner, as the author,
Khaled Hosseini, evokes two different worlds of the protagonists, Amir and Hassan, in which one
lives a Pashtun upper class life and the other a Hazara lower class life. Hosseini expresses the

Pashtuns were viewed as the dominant group of power and prosperity, who practice the religious
belief of Sunni Islam. Whereas, Hazaras were considered the peasant class that made a minority sect
of Islam in the country, who practice Shi a. The turning point, segregated the Hazara from the
Pashtuns when the Pashtuns had oppressed the Hazaras (Hosseini 9). Amir was perceived as a

Not only was this a strong belief of Amir, but School text books barely mentioned them [Hazaras] and

The two companies are locked in a market share grudge match. This almost dead heat competition can
leave the door for the smaller competitors like T Mobile and Sprint to come in with small possible
innovation to unseat Verizon. Also government regulations and rulings have impacted Verizon s
growth. Earlier this year the FCC rejected Verizon s merger with T Mobile (Kirby, 2012).
Relevant Issues The areas that are the most relevant to the decision to invest would be Verizon s
growing 4GLTE network and their limited international reach. The 4GLTE network shows that
Verizon is committed to future growth. International markets are huge opportunities for expansion and
while a large risk, can be a big section for Verizon.
Verizon Stakeholders Verizon Communications stakeholders fall into two categories, internal and
external. Verizon internal stakeholders are their employees. Verizon s external stakeholders are
customers and investors.
Internal Wants and Needs Verizon s employees wants and needs are a high priority for the company.
Verizon asked an independent research firm to poll people from a wide range of Verizon s

The Effect Of Effective Technology On British Land...

interpretation of the effectiveness of British generals during the First World War, written by Gary
Sheffield in 2001. It s purpose is to show consensus of the interpretations of the generals in the First
World War, and to also show his personal interpretation. He is doing this since he is a revisionist.

However, there are also some limitations to this source. For example, it misses out a lot of other

Another limitation is that the extract is from a book, this means the author (Sheffield) may have
deliberately controversial in order for people to interested in is book and ultimately get more sales.
Overall, this source gives us a bit of information, which both support and dispute the statement. The
first part talks about the mistakes made during the First World War, however the second part talks
about how weapons were used successfully, this shows that the source is objective. Source F is a
primary source of a painting, which was created in WW1 by John Sargent. Sargent was paid by the
British government to document the war, so it could be shown to future generations what happened
during the First World War. Its purpose it so make the viewer question the morality of using gas and
the possible affect it could have on thousands of men. The source supports the statement, by showing
the sun setting in the background it symbolises the sacrifice of the wasted life of the men. The source
also shows a group of soldiers playing football in the background, this shows us that gas attacks were
a frequent thing during the First World War, this shows us that technology was not me to prevent gas
attack, overall, supporting the statement. However, the source also disproves the statement,

Listening To Too Much Christmas Music Rhetorical Analysis
Listening to Too Much Christmas Music is bad for your health, according to clinical psychologist is an
article written by Olivia Petter and posted on November 2017 in the Independent Website. In Petter s
article, he argues that when one listens to too much of Christmas music, meaning Christmas carols,
they will easily forget and lose concentration in what they were doing. His central argument is that
overdosing on festive music is officially bad for your mental health (Petter, 2017). The music, when
played or listened to repeatedly, leads the person to focus on nothing but the mince pies and mistletoe ,
thus impairing one s brain (Petter, 2017). To substantiate her argument, Petter quotes authors Linda
Blair, a psychologist and Eric Spangenberg, a researcher on the impact holiday music as it impacts
retail stores. To this conclusion, the researcher shows that when the music is fast paced, music will
drive customers quickly through the shop, doing what they wanted to and then leave immediately,
avoiding opportunistic purchases which would have happened if the customer hanged around longer.
Slow music, on the other hand, makes the customer hang around longer, hence finding something new
they would want to buy. She concludes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

known to create humble environments if it s slow paced and thus, the kind of music quoted by Eric is
on slow tunes that create an environment that encourages the customer to stay around longer (Petter,
2017). While the research quoted is true, the contexts are different. Petter tries to use incomplete and

The standing practice was that currency would remain in the hands of the military administration

Reich Central Bank in Berlin. In return for these valuables, the central bank transferred cash to the

The Influence Of Jazz In The 1920 s
The era of the Roaring Twenties, was a time of great societal change. For nearly the first half of the
twentieth century, from about 1915 to 1955, jazz was the dominant form of popular dance music in the
United States. Jazz originated in major cities throughout the U.S. at the turn of the 20th century,
primarily in the decade of 1920. Many of these changes were greatly influenced by jazz music. During
this time, the country was coming out of World War I and the attitude of most people was dismal.
Dance and music clubs became tremendously popular in an effort to improve the quality of life for
many people. Jazz s influence on America could be described as a positive for cultural diversions. This
new genre of sound paved a way for artists to express their feelings, but also different types of music
were created and jazz began to spread around the US. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Around 1931, the Black bands, led by such greats as Duke Ellington and Fletcher Henderson, began to
develop the Swing style which would not formally appear for another two years which included one

the time of the pieces. Additionally, in the 1930s, artists took a dynamic twist and made jazz more
emotional and spiritual. Artists created jazz music that described hardships in the south which was
called the blues. In the up rise of jazz, Handy became one of the first people to transcribe and publish
sheet music about the blues (Madison). Another genre or style of music is known as the underground
music Bebop . Bebop reflected the anger black musicians felt over the rewards and benefits reaped by
white big bands from swing developed by blacks. Artists would perform with their backs to the
audience. They developed Scat, a type of crazy syllable

Like organizing our closets we must from time to time clean out our makeup cabinets and make sure
what we have is still working for us. If you want flawless makeup and professional looking results you
must use the correct makeup tools. The right blush brush for example, will make it possible that your
blush gives you a perfect glow rather than a harsh streak or blob. Also, the right tools are necessary to

ESSENTIAL TOOLS:
Sponge: A sponge makes it possible to get into difficult spots and controls makeup application; used
correctly a sponge will give your foundation an even finish. A sponge is great for touch ups and is less
likely to pull on the skin. Buy them in bulk and change them often.
Brushes: A good blush brush is soft with bristles that are about 1 inches. Dont use the small, hard
brushes that come in compacts because it will be difficult to get a nice even finish. An eye shadow
brush should also be soft. Look for a lipstick brush that is retractable. It helps keep the brush clean and
in great shape. A blending brush should be about wide and will help blend the different color eye
shadows together to create a natural look. Use a brow brush to keep eyebrows under control and give

Union of Norway and Sweeden
The dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden was carried out by the Norwegian
parliament under the House of Bernadotte on 7 June 1905. After some months of tension and fear of
war between the two neighbouring nations, negotiations between the two governments led to Norway
s recognition by Sweden as an independent constitutional monarchy on 26 October 1905
Norwegian nationalistic aspirations in 1814 were frustrated by Sweden s victory in a brief war that
resulted in Norway entering into a personal union with Sweden. The Norwegian constitution was
largely kept untouched, allowing for an independent Norwegian state with its own parliament,
judiciary, and executive powers. Over the years, a divergence of Norwegian and Swedish interests
became apparent. When free trade between the countries was restricted in 1895 through the abolition
of the interstate laws , the economic reasons for the continued union were also diminished. In early
1905, Christian Michelsen formed a coalition government consisting of liberals and conservatives,
whose only stated objective was to establish a separate Norwegian corps of consuls. The law was
passed by the Norwegian parliament. On 7 June 1905, the Storting voted to dissolve the union with
Sweden because Oscar had effectively abandoned his role as King of Norway by refusing to appoint a
replacement government. 7 June is considered independence day for Norway. The Swedish
government considered this declaration as rebellious, and they

In population Nevada is one of the smallest states of the fifty states in the Union, but it invites and

one of the driving factors pushing him to achieve something significant in his first year. However, the
pressure to perform pushed Tom to begin drinking more coffee, using caffeine pills, and taking Ritalin

had a huge impact on Tom s sleep patterns. For example, as his exams drew nearer Tom commented
on his reduced need for sleep. Soon after Tom finished his exams, he began to abuse drugs and

The Life of Louis Armstrong Essays
The Life of Louis Armstrong
He was known as the greatest of all jazz musicians. He defined what it really was to play genuine jazz
music and taught the world to swing. He included joy, spontaneity, and amazing technical abilities.
Louis Armstrong was a genius when it came to his inventive musical ability. In this paper, I will tell
you about who Armstrong was, his early childhood, accomplishments, and his living legacy. Louis
Armstrong was born on August 4, 1901 in New Orleans, Louisiana which is famously known as the
birth place of jazz. Armstrong was born into a very poor family in a rough area in New Orleans. His
father was a factory worker who abandoned the family soon after Armstrong was born. Consequently,

Louis Blues , Clarence Williams, and the Red Onions Jazz Babies. By this time, Armstrong had gained
enough individual attention to make his recording debut as a leader in 1925 when he returned to
Chicago. He joined his wife s band at the Dreamland Café, and also played in Erskine Tate s Vendome
Orchestra and then with Carrol Dickenson s Orchestra at the Sunset Café. That same year Armstrong
recorded his first Hot Five records, which was the first time he made records under his own name.
Any of the records that were made by Louis Armstrong s Hot Five and Hot Seven were considered to
be Jazz classics. Their band continued recording until 1928, but never played live. This music set a
standard and the agenda for jazz in the many years to follow. Armstrong s trumpet introduction to
West End Blues is very famous. It has yet to be surpassed and remains as one of the greatest recorded
moments of jazz. While Louis was working at the Sunset Café, he met Joe Glaser, who became his
manager. Glaser was his manager until he died. Armstrong led his own band; they were called Louis
Armstrong and his Stompers. Louis had become a big star by 1929. He occasionally appeared with the
Luis Russell Orchestra, with Dave Peyton, and Fletcher Henderson, and also toured with the show Hot
Chocolates. In Chicago in 1931 Armstrong assembled his own band for touring purposes. When he

Affect of Violent Video Games on Children Essays
Introduction In recent decades, attention has been placed on the influence of violent videogames on
the aggressive behaviour of individuals. While some scholars believe that videogames increase
aggression amongst children in particular, others claim evidence on the catharsis hypothesis where
videogames are argued to be a safe outlet to express aggression (Berger 2002). Although many
theories have emerged regarding the influence of violent videogames, the debate continues to be
divided between those who claim its destructive nature and others who claim that videogames cannot
be solely blamed for the aggressive behaviour expressed by young people. This essay therefore aims
to examine different arguments raised in the literature regarding ... Show more content on

It is in fact true that most videogames are violent in nature or have violent elements. But whether or
not they lead to players becoming violent is difficult to answer (Poole 2000; Berger 2002). In
particular the concern lies mainly in the effects of these games on children as it is argued by
psychologists and paediatrics that children are unable to differentiate between fiction and reality. In
fact, by becoming regular players they become desensitised because it becomes so much a part of their
lives (Jenkins 2006). The question therefore arises whether children should be allowed to play violent
and sadistic games. Berger (2002) argues that although there is a significant difference between
mediate violence, where the individual sees hundreds of killings, it has a different status from real
violence, where the majority of us have never seen anyone get killed. Thus, the fact that violence in
videogames is mediated gives it the status of just play (see also Poole 2000). However, although a
game may not be real, does not mean that it does not have a profound affect on us. As Berger (2002)
argues that it may affect us in ways that we are not aware of. Particularly in videogames, people
become active participants. Videogames are an active medium that requires constant physical input by
the player. Accordingly the player is deeply involved with the game and therefore is significantly more

Is Antigone A Tragic Hero In Action
Greek tragedies would not be complete without a tragic hero. A tragic hero tends to be the protagonist
of a tragedy who had the potential of greatness but is destined to some type of downfall. This is due to
a major flaw called hamartia. In Antigone by Sophocles, we see a perfect representation of tragic hero
in action. The play is the last of a trilogy by Sophocles, whom two brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices
fight for the throne but sadly both kill each other. Creon, the uncle and new ruler decides to bury
Eteocles and not Polyneices. This creates tension in the play because one of her nieces, Antigone, is
Polyneices sister. The play starts off with Antigone discussing about her plan to bury Polyneices,
however Ismene does not agree with Antigone.

Observation Paper On The Empire State Building

Observation Paper (Empire State Building)
The Empire State Building is a skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Its
construction began on March 17, 1930, and was completed on April 11, 1931. John Jacob Raskob, the
creator of General Motors, wanted a building that would have been taller than Walter Chrysler s
building. He went to William Lamb, someone who was a partner at the architectural firm of Shreve,
Lamb, and Harmon and he explains to him his dream of a skyscraper that would exceed the Chrysler
Building. When the Empire State Building was being made, there were only two criteria that were
needed to be followed during the construction: the first one was that it must resemble a pencil. The
second criteria were that it must soar higher than any other structure in the world. Although the
building had many setbacks during the construction of it the building ended up finishing 45 days
ahead of schedule and on top of that the building ended up being $5 million dollars under budget.
The Empire State Building was then viewed as a new symbol of what felt like a New America. During
the 1920s and the 1930s, the United States was being split from an old style of rural traditions and
eventually was beginning to make modern urban traditions. When the Empire State Building was
being built, it began to fuel the power and wealth of the clients who were children of immigrants, this
then served as a legitimacy status began to represent the face of the

President Ronald Reagan And President Reagan
Being president is a huge responsibility, and there are some who have done an excellent job. Then
there are others who have made our economy, as well as our country, go down the drain. However, I
have to hand it to President Ronald Wilson Reagan, because the time he was in office he really
pumped the country up, and did a tremendous job running it as well as helping in every way he could.
Ronald Reagan was born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. Reagan passed away June 5, 2004,
and was buried in Simi Valley, California. He graduated from Eureka College in 1932 with a Bachelor
s of Arts degree in social science and economics. Before Mr. Reagan was president he was also an
actor, and performed in 53 different movies. He was of the Christian religion. President Ronald
Reagan was the 40th president, and part of the Republican party. The First Lady was Nancy Reagan,
and the Vice President was George H.W. Bush while Ronald Reagan was in office. They were
successful with two terms together from 1981 until 1989. Obviously Reagan liked politics, and
definitely caught his attention since that is what he graduated from college with. But, his political
views really shifted from liberal to republican in the 1960 s while supporting Nixon in Nixon s
campaign in California against Pat Brown. Reagan did quite a few General Electric speeches for
Nixon as well in his campaign. The result from these speeches was merely freedom is what the people

Mystery Of Iniquity Poem Analysis

Mystery of Iniquity
The first line in the poem is a phrase that is found in Bible: 2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of
iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. Which
means the lawlessness, discrimination, and immoral is already working. Lauryn Hill is rightly
regarded as one of the most exciting and original talents of her generation. As singer, songwriter and
rapper, she first came to prominence as a member of the hip hop trio the Fugees, before launching a
short lived but impactful solo career. She is also regarded as one of music s lost geniuses, avoiding the
limelight and the studio to raise her five children with Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob. Right
now, with a life that has involved no shows at concerts and a prison sentence, it doesn t look like she ll
be adding to her five Grammy awards (The Biography.com website, 2017). The poem speaks about
how messed up and crooked the court system are towards African Americans.
Inequity is lack of fairness or justice. The history of inequity is something people is running after but
will never be able to catch. Lauryn Hill describes it as The American Dream and how it is creating an
illusion around the U.S. The illusion is making people obsessed with success and allowing the
government control them. This paper will focus on the injustice of African Americans. Lauryn Hill
have great songs that inspire many music artists. In the Mystery of Iniquity Lauryn Hill talks about the
history of inequity which is exclusionary, discrimination, and immoral behavior.
Mystery of Iniquity is one of the powerful poems ever written by Lauryn Hill because she speaks on
exclusionary. Exclusionary is relating to or characterized by the exclusion of something, especially
from a contract or group. When Lauryn Hill talks about the expert witness (the paid authority) the
expert witness gets on the stand and tells the jury what they want to hear. The jury doesn t even bother
to question some of the shaky points. They just want to go home and mostly likely didn t want to be
there in the first place (Genius, 2017). The witness is feeding the jury a story

Colorism And African-American Culture
Colorism is a form of prejudice in which people are treated differently based on skin color. The
subject matter of colorism can be greatly argued amongst the African American culture. Because of
the direct biased attitudes towards skin color there has been a manifestation of internal oppression
within the Black race. According to the article, The Persistent Problem of Colorism: Skin Tone, Status,
and Inequality (Hunter 2007), researchers confirmed that fair skinned people have clear advantages
over dark skinned people in areas such as education, politics and income. Nevertheless, dark skinned
people of color are more genuine and approved than fair skinned people. Colorism has had a
tremendous impact on the African American culture and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Self esteem plays a major role in colorism because it affects how you see and feel about yourself, how
you treat yourself, and your actual behaviors in various situations. Studies that examined skin color in
the lives of 123 African American adolescents (aged 11 19 years) found complexion to be related to
self esteem, but the study also brought additional complexity to the issue. Students who self reported
as lighter or darker had lower levels of satisfaction with their skin color than did students whose skin
color was classified as somewhere in between . (Davis, 2015). Colorism can affect how we are judged
by other African Americans. For African American girls, self evaluation may be seen as a liking for
physical characteristics that they believe will be judged more favorably (i.e., lighter skin color, longer
hair, and passionate features, etc.). This might cause a risk for African American girls who may not
follow this standard. Higher sexual risk and substance abuse behavior by African American girls can
be contributed to internalizing colorism attitudes. Skin bleaching is another important risk behavior.
Skin bleaching is widely known throughout the Caribbean, Africa, and in the United States, posing
several serious and negative health effects on the human body, including mercury poisoning,
permanent thinning of the skin, premature aging of the skin, increased risk of skin

Dr. Andrews Summer Assignment The accelerating pace of international trade is one of the most
dominating, and important features, of contemporary life. Globalization is creating widespread
changes for societies, economics, and governments. Since the invention of the steam engine,
transportation and communication limits have faded away and, with the development of the Internet,
practically disappeared. A case can be made for the proposition that trade, throughout history, has been
the main engine for the development of the world as we know it today. In his book, A Splendid

It has shown me how important trade was and how difficult it used to be compared to now. Today,
many people have cell phones and even more people have access to a television, radio, or the Internet,
so, for example, if an event occurs in South Korea in less than an hour news stations all over the world
are reporting about it and have analysts debate about it for hours. However, back in the 1000 s and
1100 s, if you were living in France, and an event occurs in China, there is a good chance that the
person living in France would never know about it. Also, in the 1000 s or 1100 s if you were born in a
village in England, unless you were a merchant, chances are that you would not go further than 50
miles in any direction from where you were born. Transportation in the 1000 s and 1100 s was limited
to walking and sea travel. Sea travel was very dangerous, due to pirates and poorly made ships, so
many Europeans didn t risk it. Today, with the invention of the steam engine, automobile, and airplane
to go from New York to California by plane takes only six hours, although you are traveling around
3000 feet. In today s world it s no big deal if you travel 3000 feet in one day, but in the 1000 s and

about it. William J. Bernstein asks many questions in his novel. One of them is how goods got from

The Netflix Business Model
Current situation
Introduction to the Company
Netflix was founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in 1997 and was originally based out of
Scotts Valley California. The business model that they were working towards was to create a company
that would offer online movie rental service made available by streaming media as well as DVD s that
could be ordered online and delivered to the customers homes. (Wheelen, Case 12). Netflix had a
strategic plan to undercut the competition in an effort to stress the market and force weaker
competition out of the field. This was a very successful plan and over a period of years it was able to

Adhering to its organizational mission, Netflix was able to, over a period of about a decade, force
almost all of its competition out of the market. This was the culmination of meeting its set Goals.
Netflix core values seemed to evoke a very negative response by the general public at large.
Consumers found their ethical means of climbing the corporate ladder abhorrent. This was damaging
to Netflix for a period of several years causing investors, consumers, stock holders and product
distributors to refuse to continue a business relationship with them. The core strategy for Netflix was
to grow their streaming subscription business both domestically and globally. Its stated goal was to
continuously improve its customer experience, with a focus on expanding its accessibility of its
streaming content, and striving to enhance its users interface. This has been met as to recent by the

Analyse the factors that contributed to the emergence of a workers opposition movement in
Communist Poland in the period 1956 1981.
After World War II, the official communist party dominated all aspects of Polish politics, which soon
became an issue with not only the working class of the country, but also the intellectual and educated
Polish community. Between 1956 and 1981, there was an emergence of workers opposition against the
communist party in Poland due to the blatant oppression and desperate living conditions of many of
the Polish workers and their families. Workers demanded rapid change in policy from the party
because the workers believed the government had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Doc 4) The intellectual and party member support helped the workers movement gain serious
momentum. A major factor in the emergence of the workers opposition movement also was the
support of the Catholic Church and the Pope specifically. In September of 1976, the bishops of the
Catholic Church in Poland called for the government and party to fully respect civil rights and conduct
a real dialogue with society while also demanding that they stop all repression of workers involved in
the protests of June 1976. (Doc 5) The fierce and somewhat scolding tone in which the demands are
made show the Catholic Church s unwavering support for the Polish workers opposition. It is not
surprising, however, that a group of Catholic bishops would demand better treatment for the Polish
workers because, as members of the church, they would naturally be in favour of social justice. The
value of having the Catholic Church support the movement manifests itself in the fact that the Polish
communist party begins to require all teachers to tell students that the pope is an enemy and dangerous
man who only wishes to charm the crowd. (Doc 7) This response to the pope s support demonstrates
that the party itself realised that the church could have tremendous impact on the turnout of the
opposition. By the 1980s, a coalition of independent trade unions, known as Solidarity, was
established in Gdansk. The photograph of Lech Walesa and other

The Coin, But I Am Happy, And I
1. Both perspectives are interesting because they show both sides of the coin, but I believe both are
important for the development of ourselves. It is interesting how both propositions are truthful because
George speaks about being truthful about what we think and believe. To show people our real self.
When I was reading this made me think that I was using the different approach because we need to be
honest whenever we are true to ourselves we feel better, and we have a great self esteem. On the other
hand, Ibarra tell us that it is good to be ourselves, but sometimes we need to be chameleons, by saying
this, she means that we need to adapt to different circumstances, and environments because if we show
everybody ourselves, we will show them our weak spots too. I believe that when I show myself how it
is, I am extremely happy, and I really feel good. Also, I feel like everything goes right in my life, but I
believe that there must to be an adaptation to different circumstances because we can insult or make
feel bad our colleagues or followers. Sometimes by being ourselves, we are destroying an
environment of collaboration, and we create an environment of conflict where everyone has their own
opinion. That is when the leader has to appear and adapt to these circumstances to find solutions. I
believe if you don t approach it first, don t expect the other people to do it. 2. I believed that most of
the times I can be an authentic leader at work because I can talk and act

To improve how society battles health disparities one must look at the science involved in curing diseases and sickness. Rapid and effective diagnostic tools, new vaccines and drugs, and efficient delivery methods form the groundwork for a successful public health system that will in itself lead to a global health improvement. In addition to improving global health, poverty will also come closer to eradication which is what society strives for on a daily basis. The application of each of these improvements in societal health problems will effectively get people closer to achieving the common goal of eliminating disease and discovering a perfect system that allows any individual access to health care. These means can be achieved very effectively using biotechnology. Biotechnology has astonishing potential to address these problems and improve upon them. • 4. The Biodiversity At Lido Beach Abstract This study investigated the biodiversity at Lido Beach in Long Island. The objective was to investigate how biodiversity changed for areas away from human habitat. Salt marshes and wetland are under severe threat due to irresponsible actions on the part of humans. There needs to be an awareness and understanding in the general public as to the importance of these natural habitats and their significance to the general ecosystem. There is enough evidence to suggest the degradation has already happened, and how critical it is to protect salt marshes and wetlands. The results were encouraging as they pointed in the general direction that diversity was not impacted close to the pathway that was subjected to human traffic. However, the data collected did not point to any specific conclusions. Nonetheless, it provided valuable information on the subject of the study. The results for the entire class data indicated that for richness, there was a positive correlation between the family richness of the samples and the distance from the path. Specific results for one group for each sample point indicated that for richness, there was more richness observed near the path than away from it. For evenness, the results indicated that as the distance from the path increased, the evenness did not have a clear pattern, even though there was a general increase in evenness away from the path, especially, as shown by the 30m and 50m sampling points. • 5. Religious Authority And The Protestant Reformation During the sixteenth century, numerous conditions and beliefs existed that cause the Protestant Reformation. It was a religious, political, cultural and logical disturbance that had made some Europeans split from the Catholic Church. In northern and central Europe, reformers [such as John Calvin, Henry VIII and most importantly Martin Luther] challenged papal authority and questioned the Catholic Church s ability to define Christian practice. The tension between the reformers and the church triggered wars, persecutions and the Counter Reformation, also called the Catholic Reformation. Augustine had emphasized that the bible is more a fundamental source for religious authority than the Bible is. He also believed that humans could not reach salvation by their own act, but only God could give salvation by his divine grace. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church taught that salvation was achievable through works of righteousness that made God pleased. Martin Luther, born in the year 1483 in Thuringia (Saxony), which is what is now the country of Germany, began to have doubts about the theological basis for much of the daily practices of the Catholic Church. In other words, he questioned and wondered if the Catholic leaders teachings were acceptable to the Catholic religion. He shared his two central beliefs with Augustine, which would later form the basis of Protestantism. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church s practice of allowing indulgences to offer absolution to ... Listening To Too Much Christmas Music Rhetorical Analysis Listening to Too Much Christmas Music is bad for your health, according to clinical psychologist is an article written by Olivia Petter and posted on November 2017 in the Independent Website. In Petter s article, he argues that when one listens to too much of Christmas music, meaning Christmas carols, they will easily forget and lose concentration in what they were doing. His central argument is that overdosing on festive music is officially bad for your mental health (Petter, 2017). The music, when played or listened to repeatedly, leads the person to focus on nothing but the mince pies and mistletoe , thus impairing one s brain (Petter, 2017). To this conclusion, the researcher shows that when the music is fast paced, music will drive customers quickly through the shop, doing what they wanted to and then leave immediately, avoiding opportunistic purchases which would have happened if the customer hanged around longer. • 26. Union of Norway and Sweeden The dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden was carried out by the Norwegian parliament under the House of Bernadotte on 7 June 1905. After some months of tension and fear of war between the two neighbouring nations, negotiations between the two governments led to Norway s recognition by Sweden as an independent constitutional monarchy on 26 October 1905 Norwegian nationalistic aspirations in 1814 were frustrated by Sweden s victory in a brief war that resulted in Norway entering into a personal union with Sweden. The Norwegian constitution was largely kept untouched, allowing for an independent Norwegian state with its own parliament, judiciary, and executive powers. Over the years, a divergence of Norwegian and Swedish interests became apparent. When free trade between the countries was restricted in 1895 through the abolition of the interstate laws , the economic reasons for the continued union were also diminished. In early 1905, Christian Michelsen formed a coalition government consisting of liberals and conservatives, whose only stated objective was to establish a separate Norwegian corps of consuls. The law was passed by the Norwegian parliament. On 7 June 1905, the Storting voted to dissolve the union with Sweden because Oscar had effectively abandoned his role as King of Norway by refusing to appoint a replacement government. 7 June is considered independence day for Norway. The Swedish government considered this declaration as rebellious, and they ... • 30. Affect of Violent Video Games on Children Essays Introduction In recent decades, attention has been placed on the influence of violent videogames on the aggressive behaviour of individuals. While some scholars believe that videogames increase aggression amongst children in particular, others claim evidence on the catharsis hypothesis where videogames are argued to be a safe outlet to express aggression (Berger 2002). Although many theories have emerged regarding the influence of violent videogames, the debate continues to be divided between those who claim its destructive nature and others who claim that videogames cannot be solely blamed for the aggressive behaviour expressed by young people. This essay therefore aims to examine different arguments raised in the literature regarding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is in fact true that most videogames are violent in nature or have violent elements. But whether or not they lead to players becoming violent is difficult to answer (Poole 2000; Berger 2002). In particular the concern lies mainly in the effects of these games on children as it is argued by psychologists and paediatrics that children are unable to differentiate between fiction and reality. In fact, by becoming regular players they become desensitised because it becomes so much a part of their lives (Jenkins 2006). The question therefore arises whether children should be allowed to play violent and sadistic games. Berger (2002) argues that although there is a significant difference between mediate violence, where the individual sees hundreds of killings, it has a different status from real violence, where the majority of us have never seen anyone get killed. Thus, the fact that violence in videogames is mediated gives it the status of just play (see also Poole 2000). However, although a game may not be real, does not mean that it does not have a profound affect on us. As Berger (2002) argues that it may affect us in ways that we are not aware of. Particularly in videogames, people become active participants. Videogames are an active medium that requires constant physical input by the player. Accordingly the player is deeply involved with the game and therefore is significantly more than a mere ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Observation Paper On The Empire State Building Tihun Lowe ARC 2701 Observation Paper (Empire State Building) The Empire State Building is a skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Its construction began on March 17, 1930, and was completed on April 11, 1931. John Jacob Raskob, the creator of General Motors, wanted a building that would have been taller than Walter Chrysler s building. He went to William Lamb, someone who was a partner at the architectural firm of Shreve, Lamb, and Harmon and he explains to him his dream of a skyscraper that would exceed the Chrysler Building. When the Empire State Building was being made, there were only two criteria that were needed to be followed during the construction: the first one was that it must resemble a pencil. The second criteria were that it must soar higher than any other structure in the world. Although the building had many setbacks during the construction of it the building ended up finishing 45 days ahead of schedule and on top of that the building ended up being $5 million dollars under budget. The Empire State Building was then viewed as a new symbol of what felt like a New America. During the 1920s and the 1930s, the United States was being split from an old style of rural traditions and eventually was beginning to make modern urban traditions. Mystery Of Iniquity Poem Analysis Ramani Goode Professor Dubose Eng 102 02 07 November 2017 Mystery of Iniquity The first line in the poem is a phrase that is found in Bible: 2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. Which means the lawlessness, discrimination, and immoral is already working. Lauryn Hill is rightly regarded as one of the most exciting and original talents of her generation. As singer, songwriter and rapper, she first came to prominence as a member of the hip hop trio the Fugees, before launching a short lived but impactful solo career. She is also regarded as one of music s lost geniuses, avoiding the limelight and the studio to raise her five children with Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob. Right now, with a life that has involved no shows at concerts and a prison sentence, it doesn t look like she ll be adding to her five Grammy awards (The Biography.com website, 2017). The poem speaks about how messed up and crooked the court system are towards African Americans. Inequity is lack of fairness or justice. The history of inequity is something people is running after but will never be able to catch. Lauryn Hill describes it as The American Dream and how it is creating an illusion around the U.S. The illusion is making people obsessed with success and allowing the government control them. This paper will focus on the injustice of African Americans. Lauryn Hill have great songs that inspire many music artists. In the Mystery of Iniquity Lauryn Hill talks about the history of inequity which is exclusionary, discrimination, and immoral behavior. Mystery of Iniquity is one of the powerful poems ever written by Lauryn Hill because she speaks on exclusionary. Exclusionary is relating to or characterized by the exclusion of something, especially from a contract or group. When Lauryn Hill talks about the expert witness (the paid authority) the expert witness gets on the stand and tells the jury what they want to hear. Self esteem plays a major role in colorism because it affects how you see and feel about yourself, how you treat yourself, and your actual behaviors in various situations. Studies that examined skin color in the lives of 123 African American adolescents (aged 11 19 years) found complexion to be related to self esteem, but the study also brought additional complexity to the issue. Students who self reported as lighter or darker had lower levels of satisfaction with their skin color than did students whose skin color was classified as somewhere in between . (Davis, 2015). Colorism can affect how we are judged by other African Americans. For African American girls, self evaluation may be seen as a liking for physical characteristics that they believe will be judged more favorably (i.e., lighter skin color, longer hair, and passionate features, etc.). This might cause a risk for African American girls who may not follow this standard. Higher sexual risk and substance abuse behavior by African American girls can be contributed to internalizing colorism attitudes. Skin bleaching is another important risk behavior. The value of having the Catholic Church support the movement manifests itself in the fact that the Polish communist party begins to require all teachers to tell students that the pope is an enemy and dangerous man who only wishes to charm the crowd.
