by in terms of legal requirements but also children and young people need to be praised when they
have done something right and when they really have achieved something and that is what as staff we
attempt to do as often as possible. There are however times when bad behaviour does need to be dealt

how you go about telling them are both important things which must be taken into consideration when

(Research and Markets. Business Wire, 2011) This association with marketing has turned some people
away from using them causing a dip in popularity. It s likely because it was over used by marketers
and for many it never worked as it was suppose to. But did you know that the QR code has other
multiple linkable functions in communications that are not related to marketing? These are based on
the delivery of useful information to any user of a smart mobile phone or a device that has ability to
scan the QR code. With the use of QR codes an origination can link digital copies of data that was
previously distributed in printed form thus reducing costs and making them more environmentally

Barbie Doll By Marge Piercy
Today s society raises young women to conform to archaic practices with total disregard towards a
child self progression. In Barbie Doll poem by Marge Piercy it is portrayed a young girl who was
attacked by society because of having unruly features on her appearance and body. To make clear,
Piercy uses the title Barbie Doll in her poem to symbolize the cultural American traditions of making
young girls live in a fairy tale world; where everything they see or do is perfect. The girl in this poem
played with Barbie toys since she was little, but when she reached her puberty people started to
criticize her of having imperfections on her face and body; which made her commit a really wrong
decision for herself. In today s society there are a large number of women having plastic surgery,
because they do not feel comfortable or confident with their own appearances. Women are not just
beauty queens and home makers; they should retreat from female stereotypes at a young age so they
do not confront society pressure.
Barbie s toys purpose of entertaining young girls is sarcastic, because the underlying theme behind
them is destructive; since female stereotypes make the girls think they are as perfectly beautiful as the
Barbie. In the beginning of the poem the author states various items that any young girl would have
such as, dolls that imitated live children, dolls that did pee pee , mini stoves and irons to keep clothes
neat, and wee lipsticks the color of cherry candy , the

A Research Assignment For Mcdonald s S
Research assignment for McDonald s
Introduction
Why we chose McDonald s
Out of three major business enterprises, the best info that we found was on McDonald s. For that
reason, we decided to focus on McDonald s for this assignment. We did some preliminary research
and came up with some main issues that are pertinent to this business enterprise.
Main issues pertinent to McDonald s
Mc Spotlight (2015) had launched a campaign asking what is wrong with McDonald s. Four of the
main issues stated by the campaign were the promotion of unhealthy food, the exploitation of workers,
an outbreak of food poisoning, the environmental damage done by the business enterprise, and many
more.
Promotion of unhealthy food
It is said that the food at McDonald s is promoted as being nutritious, however what is really being
served by McDonald s is junk food foods exceedingly high in sugar, fat and salt, and reasonably low
in fibre and vitamins.
Food Safety
The quality of McDonald s food has often criticized. Being high in sugar, salt and fat, the food is far
from healthy. The business has tried to address this issue by adding healthier food options such as
salads and yogurt to the menu. However, a recent scandal in China, were there are reports of expired
and condemned meat being used and severed to customers has severely tarnished the company s
already poor reputation (The Economist 2015). This event also saw a massive drop in Sales in Asia as
customers reacted to the scandal (Jones

Cinder Cone, Shield, Composite Volcanoes
Cinder Cone, Shield, Composite Volcanoes
Volcanoes are a big mound that erupts and spews out lava, when it erupts the lava flows down the side
of the volcano and when it cools down it turns to rock. As it erupts rocks fly out and can cause a huge
amount of damage and quite often kill people. When volcanoes erupt they create a large ash cloud.
There are three main types of volcanoes, these are Cinder Cone, Shield and Composite volcanoes.
Cinder Cone
Cinder Cone Volcanoes are small, hill sized volcanoes that range in height from tens to hundreds of
meters. Cinder cones are the simplest and most common type of volcano. Cinder cones can grow
quickly, but they don t become giants. They can build up over short periods of a few months to a few
years. A cinder cone is also called a scoria cone. When lava that is highly charged with gas bubbles
erupts from a vent under pressure, it tends to shoot straight up into the air. This effect is called a fire
fountain, and it can sometimes be hundreds of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are named for their large size and low profile, resembling a Warrior s Shield lying on the ground.
Shield volcanoes are built by effusive eruptions, which flow out in all directions to create a shield like
shape. Shield volcanoes are the largest volcanoes on Earth that actually look like volcanoes (i.e. not
counting flood basalt flows). The Hawaiian shield volcanoes are the most famous examples. They are
made from a type of lava that is very fluid when erupted, For this reason these volcanoes are not steep
because you can t pile up a fluid that easily runs downhill. The width of these volcanoes is typically
around 20 times the size of their height. Also, they can vary greatly in terms of size and some can be
over 95 kilometers

Eco Friendly/ Edible Silverware
Our environment has a lot of problems with waste that we create and it is getting more out of hand
each year. Waste is harming wildlife, rivers, plants, and humans. I have come up with a solution to this
global problem and reasons why we need it. My solution is to develop eco friendly/edible silverware.
Biodegradable means to have the ability to decompose by bacteria and other living organisms.
Biodegradable products are made out of natural plant materials like corn or sugarcane. I believe
biodegradable products are a good way to reduce waste and keep our environment healthy, unlike
plastic, which many products consist of. General everyday plastic is made out of oil, one of Earth s
limited resources. Oil takes up to three hundred million years to form. Also, oil based products that are
not reusable end up in one of the world s many landfills, which can take up to one thousand years to
decompose. Oil based products also can get washed into seas or oceans. Over time, the plastic
products can release poisonous toxins, harming wildlife and polluting nearby rivers. Comparing
biodegradable products to plastic products you can see that biodegradable products use up to seventy
percent less carbon dioxide to produce than plastic products. It also only takes twelve weeks for
biodegradable products to decompose.
Recycling waste is a simple answer to our problem, but instead, the shortage of waste treatment
systems can

Should Humans Consume Insects As An Alternate Source Of...
Should Humans Consume Insects as an Alternate Source of Food? Intro Cultivating animals and crops
takes countless amount of hours and use an abundance of resources; furthermore, it produces waste
that can be harmful to the environment. The human population is increasing at an ever increasing rate
and scientists all over the world are trying to solve a global issue. It is estimated by the UN that the
population will hit 9.7 billion by 2050; undoubtedly, these inefficient and wasteful processes will not
suffice. What about insects, there are plentiful in supply and are packed with proteins and other
nutrients that the body needs; furthermore, using insects in our main diets will decrease the need for
domesticated animals which causes creates problems for everyone; in contrast to insects, which have
versatile ways for people to choose from, use less resources, and produce less waste. Lastly, if we
decrease the population of insects it will actually benefit society by limiting the amount of infestation
and their effects on crops, trees, etc. (DeFoliart, 1992) (Premalatha, 2011) (Verkerka, Trampera,
Trijpb, Martensa, 2007). This proposal will examine the nutrients, environmental impacts, ethics, and
effectiveness of an insect diet and will then be presented through a tri fold board with clear pictures,
statistics and information about this topic. The Problem and How People Are Using Similar Processes

Hispanic Immigration And The United States
Hispanic immigration to the United States stems primarily from uniquely developed push pull
migration mechanisms in which interplay of national, regional, and global economic developments,
the history of U.S. military and foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere, the checkered history of
international border enforcement and interdiction efforts, and, not least, the aspirations of Latin
American migrants and potential migrants themselves (Gutierrez). In other words, migration from
Latin American to the United States shouldn t have been consistent, however, there are several factors
that triggered massive waves of such.
The first major wave of Hispanic migration to the United States was in 1848, which was a result from
the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The newly acquired lands of the United States hosted a population
of about 75,000 100,000 and the U.S. Government offered blanket naturalization to the former
Mexican Citizens. After the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Mexican immigration to the U.S.
average[d] 3,000 5,000 persons per decade, with the exception of the California Gold Rush, where
around 10,000 Mexican miners migrated to California, all totaling to about 100,000 Mexicans in the
U.S. by the end of the 1900 (Gutierrez). However, historical migration statistics for this period are
inaccurate because of inconsistent enumeration techniques, changing methods of ethnic and racial
classification in the U.S., and the constant movement of uncounted thousands of

Compare And Contrast Animal Farm And The Russian Revolution

short, Manor Farm is a model of Russia, and old Major, Snowball, and Napoleon represent the
dominant figures of the Russian Revolution. They were very violent and just wanted to push it off like
nothing happened. One of Orwell s goals in writing Animal Farm was to illustrate the Russian
Revolution of 1917 as one that resulted in a government more oppressive, totalitarian, and deadly. Mr.
Jones is modeled on Tsar Nicholas II, the last Russian emperor. His rule was marked by his insistence
that he was the uncontested ruler of the nation. During his reign, the Russian people experienced

Performance Enhancing Drugs Should Be Baned In Sports
There are many different opinions on Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs); however, they are
banned in every sport. PEDs enhance an athlete s performance greatly and unnaturally. They improve
a variety of things that will improve an athlete s level of play considerably. Although these drugs are
prohibited, some athletes still choose to take the risk and use these drugs; some even claim that PEDs
should be allowed because it allows the viewers see the peak of human ability which is more
entertaining. Despite the opposition, athletes using Performance Enhancing Drugs are unfair because
it ruins the integrity of sports, it gives other athletes a disadvantage, and it unnaturally improves the
strength of an athlete significantly. To begin, if athletes are permitted to use PEDs, it ruins the integrity
of the sport. Sports are valued by many people throughout the world and there are countless young,
upcoming athletes that are thriving to one day play at a high level. However, if these sports turn into a
cheater s game by allowing drugs, the dreams of those hard working athletes who refuse PEDs will be
at a disadvantage. To show, The governing bodies that oversee drug testing, who hand out and uphold
penalties, do this in hopes that one particular athlete or group of athletes won t gain an unfair edge
over another by using a particular banned substance. Why? Because this would be cheating, and the
mutual feeling is that cheating ruins the integrity of sports (Hodnik 3). Athletes

Specific Phobias
The most common treatment for specific phobias is a form of psychotherapy called exposure therapy,
although other treatments include other therapies or medication (Andrews et al. 2009). The goal of
treatment for specific phobias is to improve quality of life so that patients are no longer limited by
their phobias. Exposure therapy focuses on changing the response to the object or situation feared.
Gradual, repeated exposure to the source of the specific phobia and the related thoughts, feelings and
sensations can help patients to learn to manage their anxiety (Andrews et al. 2009). There are many
variations of exposure therapy. In vivo exposure involves confronting the phobic stimulus head on but

Number Ten: The Way by Fastball
The Way is a song by Fastball, off of their 1998 album, All the Pain Money Can Buy. The song is
about an elderly married couple who leaves home and hit the road, until their vehicle breaks down and
they continue their journey on foot. Supposedly the inspiration for the lyrics came from the true story
of an older couple from Texas who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Said David Byrne of the song, I wanted to write a song that presented a resigned, even joyful look at
doom... Nonetheless, many consider this an upbeat track with the theme of being lost with no
destination as a positive thing. The song opens with a choir, before breaking into the beat, with the
following lyrics: We re on a road to nowhere / come on inside / takin that ride to nowhere / we ll take
that ride / I m feeling okay this mornin / and you know / we re on the road to paradise / here we go,
here we go. This is followed by, maybe you wonder where you are / I don t care / here is where time is
on our side / take you there and there s a city in my mind / come along and take that ride / and it s all
right / and it s very far away / but it s growing day by day / and it s all right. The last lines are
somewhat interesting in context: They can tell you what to do / but they ll make a fool of you.
Whatever your take on what this song s about, you can t deny its infectious melody. This is a great
road trip song, whether you re driving alone or with

Haggai And Zechariah Research Paper
Haggai and Zechariah are complementary prophets of the postexilic period (HW 678). Haggai urged
the people of Jerusalem to rebuild the temple of God while Zechariah called for spiritual renewal
among God s people. During the time of Haggai a decree was issued allowing conquered peoples who
were deported by the Babylonians to return to their homelands. During this time the first group of
emigrants returned to Jerusalem. Scripture states in Haggai 1:7 8, Thus says the Lord of hosts:
Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take
pleasure in it and be glorified , says the Lord (New King James Version). Haggai s messages from the

His task was to prepare the people for proper worship and temple service once the building project
was completed (HW 688). God instructed Zechariah in the words to motivate the people. Scripture
states in Zechariah 4:6, This is the word of the Lord:.... Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,
says the Lord of hosts . The Lord is showing the people that it is only through Him that the temple will
be finished and ready for worship. At this time the people were guilty of the same covenant violations
as the generation that was sent into exile. The Lord sent Zechariah to offer the people a solution to
their problems of sin and rebellion by genuinely repenting and returning to God. God knew that only
spiritual renewal could foster true worship and meaningful service in the temple once it was finished
(HW 691). Zechariah s encouragement took many forms including a series of visions and repeated
reference to the words of former prophets. Zechariah s visions reminded the people that God cared for
them and all that they were struggling with. Zechariah s messages from the Lord were full of hope
confirming that the Lord was continuing His covenant with them and was not going to forsake them.
The prophet Zechariah was the cheerleader for the completion of the temple that Haggai had the
people start to rebuild. Haggai got the physical building of the temple started while Zechariah was the
encourager for the people to finish the temple and to get their spiritual lives in

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank is the story of a Jewish girl and her family who
hide away in the attic of Otto s, Anne s father, company during the Nazi occupation of the
Netherlands. She received the diary when she was turned 13 years old and a month later one of her
sisters is called to appear before authorities which will mean certainly that she ll be sent to a
concentration camp. The family then goes into hiding.
Her family stays with the van Daans and their son, Peter, soon after Mr. Dussel moves in as well. .
Luckily her family is surrounded by books and a radio so Anne begins to develop a keen sense of
politics. There comes a time when there s a bit of romantic tension between Anne and Peter, since she
was earlier in love with another Peter, she sometimes mixes them up. They soon develop a strong
friendship due to their unfortunate circumstances. You can actually see that Anne made some
corrections and added to some of her diary entries due to the hope that the war would end but that
unfortunately never happens. The Annex is raided and their sent to concentration camps. The book
doesn t state this because it s two days after her last diary entry that the Annex is raided. The only
survivor is her father, Otto Frank.

Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. 1 10. DOI 10.1007/s10803 006 0263 2 In this article,
Gillian Stanley and Mary Konstantareas (2006) explore how different instances, such as degrees of
symptomatology, nonverbal cognitive ability, receptive language, expressive language, and social
development, had on a specific kind of play. They type of play that was being observed was symbolic
play. Gillian Stanley and Mary Konstantareas (2006) explain that various degrees in Autism have an
effect on symbolic play.
Gillian Stanley and Mary Konstantareas (2006) researched children with Autism Spectrum Disorder,
or ASD. The files they observed were of 131 children who were diagnosed with Autism. 1992.
However, 29 files were excluded due to testing complications. The writers state that the gender ratio
was also 1 girl for every 6 boys, or 15 girls and 86 boys. The study took place between March, 1982
and January. The participants ranged from 24 to 216 months of age (Stanley Konstantarea 2006).
According to Gillian Stanley and Mary Konstantarea (2006), their study used the Lowe and Costello

used because of its nonverbal administration. This made the test the most appropriate test to use on the
participants. To measure the different degrees of Autism, Gillian Stanley

Basic indexes of technology: The most important indexes in technology are productivity, reliability,
and economy of operation. The productivity denotes the quantity of goods produced, processed, or
shipped per unit time. The reliability of technology is characterized by the capacity to produce
itemized quantity of goods without interruption. As the name suggest economy of the operation is
determined by the consumption of materials, power and by the cost of supporting facilities necessary
for the operation to take place. The indexes of any operation can be improved by perfecting the design
of the working elements and by automating operational processes which is nothing but modernization.
The life of any technology can be improved by well timed modernization which ensures that the
technology meets the demand of technical and scientific progress.

Descriptive Essay About Opera
On October 24th, 2017, I attended the dress rehearsal for La Traviata at The Winspear Opera House at
the AT T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, TX. The dress code was both formal and semi formal;
some people wore very elegant dresses while others wore slacks and a nice formal shirt. As I was
standing outside the venue making my way inside I noticed that most the people attending were either
high school or college students. The amount of people in attendance cannot be exactly calculated but
if I would have to guess it would have been over 500 people seated just in the grand tier section where
students were seated. There were several different performers with equally different voice parts. In
total, there were 12 listed singers in the booklet, two of those singers being sopranos, one mezzo
soprano, three tenors, three baritones, one bass baritone, and one bass singer. The three soprano
singers are: Georgia Jarman, Rachel Sterrenberg, and Abigail Levis. The three tenor singers are: René

Piaget in the Toddler Classroom
There are a lot of things to consider when designing the layout of a toddler classroom. It is very
important to create an environment that is geared toward the proper developmental stage in order for
young children to get the most out their classroom. Children in the preoperational stage (2 yrs. 7 yrs.)
need a wide variety of hands on activities to promote development. Using Jean Piaget s Theory of
Cognitive development to design a classroom will give toddlers a wide range of activities to gain a
strong foundation for learning.

Each center designed is to engage a different aspect of child development. The large floor rug is
designed as a social area. The children will gather each morning to begin the daily routine. The more
time children spend together the less time it will take them to develop social skills such as speech and
conversation. We will begin each day by talking about the events from the afternoon before and re cap

After circle time we will head to our lesson area. This is the location where the academics will take

Sexism In Ah Q
In Chinese culture, the Confucian attitude towards society seemed to prevail. Women lacked a voice,
education was bereft of importance, and writing lacked substance. However, Lu Xun, one of the most
prominent writers during the May Fourth movement, was a leading figure in helping shed the image of
Confucian literature. His satirical style brought to light some of the major issues occurring in Chinese
culture including the common attitude towards scholars, the sexist society as well as the everlasting
belief that superstition and fortune were important. In Kong Yiji, Lu Xun chronicles the troubled times
of a scholar, and despite his intellect becomes mocked by the villagers and ultimately is cast off. Lu
Xun explores the gender inequality in his short story Ah Q, with the main character being attacked for
disrespecting women. Medicine is inundated with many traditional Chinese superstitions, yet each
superstition has an ironic outcome as nothing goes to plan. Moreover, Lu Xun s parodies not only
created a more realistic perspective of modern beliefs, but his parodies completely reject the
traditional Confucian beliefs, paving the way for new Chinese voices.
In Lu Xun s short story, The True Story of Ah Q, Ah Q s sexist tendencies flood the text. Lu Xun
pokes fun at the pettiness of Ah Q s life when he declares one of his victories his victimization of a
nun. Trying to impress men, Ah Q pinched her hard again before letting her go (Lu Xun, ). In fact, Ah

Cognitive Therapy Essay
The stigma of mental illness has led many to suffer in silence. For those afflicted, acceptance or even
treatment is too unrealistic of a notion to seek out the help they so desperately need and want. In the
field of psychology, therapy is a way for experts and patients to collaborate, and over the course of
their relationship, understand and eliminate problematic behaviors and thought processes that may be
affecting their patient s life. There are quite a few different approaches to therapy; common
therapeutic approaches are humanistic, behavior, and cognitive therapies. For someone in need of a
way to rectify a mental disorder or as a method of self improvement, therapeutic assistance in any of
these fields may be a boon. For a non specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cognitive therapists seek to disrupt the harmful cyclic thinking that fuels many neurotic disorders,
such as generalized anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder (Myers, 2004). Cognitive therapy
focuses on conscious re labeling of negative thought processes in order to help a patient develop a
constructive world view and mental thought pattern (Myers, 2004). Cognitive therapists work to
systematically correct fallacious thought processes such as personalization (attributing perceived
negative events as having to do with oneself), dichotomous thinking (a binary, all or nothing pattern of
thinking), selective abstraction (acknowledging only certain aspects of an event, usually the most
negative), and magnification minimization (misinterpreting the importance of an event) in order to
stabilize the patient s mood (Herkov, 2016). A subset of cognitive therapy is cognitive behavior
therapy, which combines the behavior modifying techniques of behavior therapy with the conscious
thought re labeling of cognitive therapy into a cohesive technique. As David G. Myers says on page
671 of Psychology, it seeks to make people aware of their irrational negative thinking, to replace it
with new ways of thinking, and to practice the more positive approach in everyday settings

What Is The Central Idea Of The Wife s Story
The central idea of the short story, The Wife s Story, by Ursula Le Guin, is a wolf who finds out she is
the wife of a werewolf. To support this the author states, I saw him, I had to see him, my own dear
love, turned into the hateful one (LeGuin 7, lines 95 96). This quote shows the wife finding out about
her husband s curse, which is the central idea. The character vs. character conflict of the family
finding out about the husband and the character vs. self conflict of the husband changing into a human

the short story, The Wife s Story, by Ursula LeGuin, there are many different forms of conflict. Some
examples of those are, character vs. character when the family finds out about the husband being a
werewolf, and character vs. self with the husband dealing with him being a werewolf and changing
between man and wolf. To support this the author states, I saw him, I had to see him, my own dear

The Pleistocene Ice Ages
Throughout the Pleistocene ice ages, large areas of the earth were covered by vast ice sheets. Global
sea levels dropped up to 120 metres below present day coastlines, exposing large areas of land that
were once flooded by shallow seas. These lands became colonised by vegetation, animals, birds and
insects over time. During the Ice Age, the island continent to the south east of Asia comprised New

narrow sea about one hundred kilometres wide, over which the first ocean crossings were made
sometime before 60,000 years ago. These ancient mariners became the founding peoples of Australia.

College enrollment skyrocketed as a direct result of the expansion of financial aid programs.
Initially, the federal government s involvement was restricted to providing financial aid to veterans
pursuing higher education. By 1965, the federal government solidified its involvement within the
realm of student financial aid by enacting the Higher Education Act. Title IV of the Act provided for a
guaranteed loan program that carried with it the full promise of the U.S. government to repay private
lenders if a student defaulted on their loan. The creation of this title lead to the creation of government
subsidies, and eventually subsidized loans (Fuller). According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, a
subsidy is defined as a grant by a government to a private person or company to assist an enterprise
deemed advantageous to the public. The greater the amount of subsides that the government pays to
lending institutions, the greater the guarantee that those lending institutions will continue to provide
financial assistance to borrowers. Private lending institutions are guaranteed to turn a profit as a result
of government subsidies, even if borrowers default on their loans. In the 2010 State of the Union

Use of Symbolism in The Lottery by Shirley Jackson
In stories there will be objects that will constantly be mentioned within the story. This is what is
known as Symbolism. Symbolism is the use of object, name, or person to represent an idea. If a name

The Run By Wanda Coleman Analysis
To begin, Wanda Coleman shows us when a young boy s mom calls him hard to look at. We hear this
through dialogue between his mother and aunt. While the main character, Buzz, and his cousin were in
California, they were playing a game and overheard some disturbing words by Buzz s mother. Buzz
previously had great respect for his mother and was a happy, fun kid. A turn of events changed his
point of view and made him see his mother in a mean, cold view. We start to see some prejudice when
Buzz s mom said He s my favorite of the boys. He s so light skinned and look at that good straight
hair. But as the conversation is progressing, so is the hurtfulness of his mother s words. The final
breaking point for Buzz is when his mom says I m so glad this baby didn t turn out black and ugly like
Buzz As we could see through the dialogue, Buzz faced prejudice from no one but his own mother. We
can infer from BUzz s later actions of personality change and crying in the bathroom. We can see how
close prejudice can hit home, and even be at home. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

London 1908 The Court of Honor
By day it is a vision of dazzling whiteness, with its tiled court and plashing cool waters, its pointed

rainbow colours of the cascade. ~Robert W. Carden, Architectural Review July, 1908
Despite varied opinions about the 1908 Franco British Exhibition, an event designed to confirm the
friendly relations between France and Britain as described in the Entente Cordiale, there was

Imre Kiralfy, its coordinator, was the driving force behind the fair. He had found previous fame in
running extravagant exhibitions, and lived up to expectations by planning the Franco British
Exhibition concurrently with that year s Olympiad, held in a stadium nearby. Kiralfy saw the fair as an
opportunity to gain cultural respectability; however, since he was not a trained architect, he received
much criticism on his designs. He designed the Court of Honor as well as the steel frames for all of the
major buildings, then consulted the architects who devised the plaster facades to create the White City.
Many critics felt that he limited the creativity of the architects by giving them pre planned structures
for their buildings. Placing blame on Kiralfy, they denounced the cosmetic role leading architects were
asked to fulfill, pointing out the vulgar error of putting the wrong end of the stick before the horse.

whiteness of the fair. This was mainly the result of two very different countries contributing

When couples divorce, it is not uncommon for one spouse to be left unable to support him or herself.
In these cases, the Court may order the spouse with the greater income to pay alimony to the spouse in
need. Alimony, also called spousal maintenance, is a crucial financial safety net for spouses who
cannot support themselves after divorce. There are several different kinds of Florida alimony that
serve various purposes. Alimony can be temporary, bridge the gap, rehabilitative, durational, or
permanent.
Temporary alimony may be awarded while the divorce is pending, to be terminated once the divorce is
finalized. Temporary alimony helps the supported spouse meet their immediate financial needs until a
final alimony award can be ordered. Bridge the gap alimony is short term alimony used to help the
supported spouse maintain the standard of living they enjoyed during the marriage until they can
become self supporting. Bridge the gap alimony cannot exceed two years and cannot be modified.

The Mind Within: How Character Demeanor is influenced by the World Outside Setting plays a
crucial role in the development of a novel, as it gives readers insight within the book through its
ability to evoke emotion from characters and readers alike, as well as reflect the society in which the

environmental factors (fate) caused their deaths. Others said that the authority Figures was blamed for
their deaths. Part of people were blaming Romeo and Juliet (themselves) for their death. Actually, all
of these statements blame for Romeo and Juliet s death and there are a lot of evidences that would
support my opinion. One of the causes that lead to Romeo and Juliet s death is the environmental
factors (fate included). Environmental factors have been about the time that they were living in, the
feud between the families, and destiny. The feud of the families caused their death because if the
families weren t enemies, then, they won t get married secretly, or god had chosen for them this life. I
hear some noise. Lady, come from that nest, of death, contagion, and unnatural sleep. A greater power
than we can contradict, Hath thwarted our intents. (5.3.156 159). This quotation means that when
Juliet woke up and finds that Romeo is dead, Friar Lawrence tells Juliet that a higher power

  • 5. Barbie Doll By Marge Piercy Today s society raises young women to conform to archaic practices with total disregard towards a child self progression. In Barbie Doll poem by Marge Piercy it is portrayed a young girl who was attacked by society because of having unruly features on her appearance and body. To make clear, Piercy uses the title Barbie Doll in her poem to symbolize the cultural American traditions of making young girls live in a fairy tale world; where everything they see or do is perfect. The girl in this poem played with Barbie toys since she was little, but when she reached her puberty people started to criticize her of having imperfections on her face and body; which made her commit a really wrong decision for herself. In today s society there are a large number of women having plastic surgery, because they do not feel comfortable or confident with their own appearances. Women are not just beauty queens and home makers; they should retreat from female stereotypes at a young age so they do not confront society pressure. Barbie s toys purpose of entertaining young girls is sarcastic, because the underlying theme behind them is destructive; since female stereotypes make the girls think they are as perfectly beautiful as the Barbie. In the beginning of the poem the author states various items that any young girl would have such as, dolls that imitated live children, dolls that did pee pee , mini stoves and irons to keep clothes neat, and wee lipsticks the color of cherry candy , the ... Main issues pertinent to McDonald s Mc Spotlight (2015) had launched a campaign asking what is wrong with McDonald s. Four of the main issues stated by the campaign were the promotion of unhealthy food, the exploitation of workers, an outbreak of food poisoning, the environmental damage done by the business enterprise, and many more. Eco Friendly And Edible Silverware Allie Lyda 4/9/2015 period 5/6 Eco Friendly/ Edible Silverware Our environment has a lot of problems with waste that we create and it is getting more out of hand each year. Waste is harming wildlife, rivers, plants, and humans. I have come up with a solution to this global problem and reasons why we need it. My solution is to develop eco friendly/edible silverware. Biodegradable means to have the ability to decompose by bacteria and other living organisms. Biodegradable products are made out of natural plant materials like corn or sugarcane. I believe biodegradable products are a good way to reduce waste and keep our environment healthy, unlike plastic, which many products consist of. General everyday plastic is made out of oil, one of Earth s limited resources. Oil takes up to three hundred million years to form. Also, oil based products that are not reusable end up in one of the world s many landfills, which can take up to one thousand years to decompose. Oil based products also can get washed into seas or oceans. Over time, the plastic products can release poisonous toxins, harming wildlife and polluting nearby rivers. Comparing biodegradable products to plastic products you can see that biodegradable products use up to seventy percent less carbon dioxide to produce than plastic products. It also only takes twelve weeks for biodegradable products to decompose. Recycling waste is a simple answer to our problem, but instead, the shortage of waste treatment systems can ... However, Lu Xun, one of the most prominent writers during the May Fourth movement, was a leading figure in helping shed the image of Confucian literature. His satirical style brought to light some of the major issues occurring in Chinese culture including the common attitude towards scholars, the sexist society as well as the everlasting belief that superstition and fortune were important. In Kong Yiji, Lu Xun chronicles the troubled times of a scholar, and despite his intellect becomes mocked by the villagers and ultimately is cast off. To support this the author states, I saw him, I had to see him, my own dear love, turned into the hateful one (LeGuin 7, lines 95 96). He had found previous fame in running extravagant exhibitions, and lived up to expectations by planning the Franco British Exhibition concurrently with that year s Olympiad, held in a stadium nearby. Kiralfy saw the fair as an opportunity to gain cultural respectability; however, since he was not a trained architect, he received much criticism on his designs. He designed the Court of Honor as well as the steel frames for all of the major buildings, then consulted the architects who devised the plaster facades to create the White City. Many critics felt that he limited the creativity of the architects by giving them pre planned structures for their buildings. The Importance Of Character Demeanor In Wide Sargasso Sea The Mind Within: How Character Demeanor is influenced by the World Outside Setting plays a crucial role in the development of a novel, as it gives readers insight within the book through its ability to evoke emotion from characters and readers alike, as well as reflect the society in which the characters exist. In Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea, the setting is used to allow characters to perceive the environment around them, which influences behaviour through the connection of understanding between the character and nature of the framework in which they thrive. Throughout the novel, setting is used to alter characters views about the world around them, which influences the demeanor of characters through its ability to evoke uncertainties concerning the world around them, affect development of identity through perception of the nature of the environment, and foreshadow events that lead to changes in the awareness of characters. Rochester s limited understanding about the world around him represents the way setting conjures uncertainties within the perception of characters to influence behaviour. He speaks of the area and the people who live within it as lovely... but sly, spiteful, malignant (Rhys, 36).
