The Maitri missile project is a next-generation quick-reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) being developed jointly by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation and France's MBDA. The short-range missile is intended to fill capability gaps for the Indian military. Under the collaboration, MBDA will provide key technologies like the seeker and thrust vector control, while DRDO handles integration and production. Two new radars are also being developed in India to support the Maitri missile system. Initial testing of the new missile is expected to begin within three years of project approval.

Abstract
A Missile is a self-propelled guided weapon system that travels through air or space. A powered, guided munitions that travels through the air or space is known as a missile (or guided missile). The Missile is defined as a space transversing unmanned vehicle that contains the means for controlling its flight path. The aerodynamic characteristics of a missile components such as body, wing and tail are calculated by using analytical methods to predict the drag and the normal forces of the missile. The total drag of the body is computed by using the parasite drag, wave drag, skin friction drag and base drag. The wing surface normal force coefficient (CN)Wing is a function of Mach number, local angle of attack, aspect ratio, and the wing surface plan form area (CN)Wing , based on the missile reference area, decreases with increasing supersonic Mach number and increases with angle of attack and the wing surface area. When the wing surface area is reduced the total weight of the missile and drag are reduced thereby increasing the lift and achieve excessive stability.

Gap models are used to simulate changes in forest gaps over time. They project the annual growth and death of individual trees as well as regeneration of new trees. The first gap model was JABOWA, developed in 1972. Gap models emphasize the response of individual trees to their environment and how trees modify those conditions. Growth is modeled based on factors like leaf area and size. Environmental constraints and competition between trees are also modeled based on light availability, soil resources, and other factors. Both India's Space and Cyber Defence areas contain gaps to keep up with global development. India’s space defence program is guided by policies to counter the capabilities of China and Pakistan. While India has made long strides with cost effective mission to Mars and a successfully launching record number of satellites, there are several gaps in its space defence. While in the space communication arena, at present, India has extremely limited space-based COMINT (Communications Intelligence) capabilities. Cyber security of satellite communications is another arena for potential collaboration between countries. Also, to achieve complete control of satellite communications & intelligence C4ISR, India needs to have a constellation of satellites in the space with extreme communication technology at disposal. In the Space Situational Awareness area India needs radar-independent tracking methods such as lasers, coherent infrared sensors and space systems with a sole purpose of tracking the functional capabilities of suspected/rogue satellites with military connect.
In cyber-security area, according to Gartner, cyber-security in India is growing to be a $1.5 bn market by 2019 & forecasted to grow over 19% during 2018-2023. Average spend on cyber security is currently at ~3% compared to a global average of 10-15% of the IT budget. India would need a trained pool of million professionals in cyber-security by 2025.

GuardBot is a robot so alien that an extraterrestrial origin almost makes sense. The spherical surveillance and reconnaissance machine famously got its start as a proposed Mars rover. Mars didn’t work out, but the rolling robot has continued on in development for the better part of the last decade, and in Feb 2020, GuardBot Inc announced that it was partnering with Aquiline Drones to round out its capabilities with cloud connectivity.

Tatra, India - All Terrain Vehicles for Indian Armed Forces
Tatra vehicles are supplied in India by BEML for the Indian defense forces. BEML ordered 788 Tatra vehicles from Tatra Vectra Motors in 2010, including 498 8x8 units, 278 6x6 units with winch, and 12 6x6 units without winch. Tatra vehicles have independent suspension enabling travel in difficult terrain and come in variants like 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, and 10x10 configurations that can be modified with different mounted structures for various purposes. The engines are air-cooled and turbo-charged, producing 235-368 horsepower.

Maitri missiles
- 1. Indo – France Maitri (QRSAM) Missile
- 2. INTRODUCTION • The Maitri missile project is a next-generation quick-reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) with a lethal near-hundred per cent kill probability (according to manufacturer's claim) under development by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation. • It is a short-range (15 km, 9.3 mi) surface-to-air point defense missile system. • The Maitri missile should not be confused with the similar Indian Army Low-Level Quick Reaction Missile system (LLQRM) requirement. • The missile will fill the gap created by the Indian government's decision to wind up development of the Trishul point defense missile system. • It is believed to be a blend of the French Mica and DRDO Trishul. • Maitri will build on the work done by DRDO while developing the Trishul missile, using technology transfer from MBDA to fill the technological gaps that led to the failure of the Trishul project.

DEVELOPMENT • On 15 July 2009, The Telegraph reported that the project was scrapped. • But later, in June 4, 2010 Indian Express reported that, "After moving ahead with similar projects with Russia and Israel, India is set to finalise a missile co-development project with France to manufacture a new range of Short Range Surface to Air Missiles (SRSAM) for the armed forces. • From 2007-2010, MBDA and DRDO finalised the design and performance parameters of the missile to suit the needs of the Indian armed forces. • The Maitri missile project involved a technological collaboration between MBDA, India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and defence public sector unit Bharat Dynamics Limited. • Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), a premier missile laboratory of DRDO, will act as the main design centre in India. • The project, with a budget of US$500 million was said to have been signed in May 2007.

DESIGN • The principal contribution of MBDA will be in providing be the active homing-head, thrust vector control, terminal guidance system and composites for a modified propulsion system for the missile, while the software, command-and-control system, the launchers and system integration work would be carried out by the DRDL. • MBDA has agreed to transfer all sensitive technology such as the seeker and thrust vector control system to India, allowing India to manufacture the Maitri missile locally as well as support them.
- 5. RADAR • The Electronics & Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), Bangalore, would develop two indigenous radars for the Maitri project. • These would be new-generation variants of Central Acquisition Radar (3D-CAR), with the ability to track 150 targets simultaneously at a distance of 200 kilometers. • The naval variant would be called the Revati and the air force version would be called Rohini.
- 6. VARIANTS •A ship-borne point and tactical air defense version for the Navy •A mobile wheeled and tracked system for use by the Air Force and Army
- 7. FUTURE •Development of the missile is expected to be completed within three years of the project go-ahead, when initial testing will commence. •Over 1000 missiles are expected to be produced for the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy.
