LSC WOMENโS BASKETBALL
West Texas A&M remains undefeated this season at 5-0 in non-conference action.
Lone Star Conference play starts this week with action on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The LSC women are 27-29 overall. The womenโs squads are currently 14-11 combined against the Heartland, and 10-
12 versus RMAC teams, which are the other conferences in the NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Madison Parker, West Texas A&M University, SR, Guard, Canyon, Texas, Canyon
Parker had a huge holiday weekend for the No. 5 Lady Buffs as the senior guard led WT to wins over Texas A&M-
International and CSU-Pueblo during the Pak-A-Sak WT Thanksgiving Classic at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
The Canyon product went 14-of-19 from the floor including 1-of-2 from behind the arc and 2-of-2 from the free throw
line to average 15.5 points per contest to go along with 17 total rebounds, four assists and two steals. Parker went a
perfect 9-of-9 from the floor on Friday afternoon for a career-high 19 points against TAMIU followed by a double-double
on Saturday with 12 points and 10 rebounds against CSU-Pueblo in a rematch of last year's South Central Regional
Semifinals.
DEFENSIVE
De'Anira Moore, Angelo State University, SO, Forward, Allen, Texas, Allen
Moore was a big contributor to the Belles 2-1 start with two double-doubles to help limit opponents to just 57.7 points
per game. The sophomore recorded double-doubles against No. 14 Fort Lewis (17 points and 11 rebounds) and
Oklahoma Christian (10 points and 18 rebounds). Moore recorded a career-high 18 rebounds against OC. She grabbed a
total of 25 defensive rebounds and 13 offensive for the week. She averaged 13.7 points per game and hit double figures
in points in all three games. Moore also added five blocks for the week.

Alexis Nezianya, Texas Woman's University, scored a career and team-high 21 points against No. 22 Emporia State.
The senior forward also added five rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist for the Pioneers.
Mackenzie Hailey, Tarleton State University, continued her early season success with 19 points and three assists in
last week's road tilt at No. 8 Lubbock Christian. Hailey was 7-17 from the floor, including 3-4 from downtown. She also
added two rebounds on the offensive end.
Jamie Bonnarens, Cameron University, led the Aggie offense last week as the sophomore averaged 18.5 points and
six rebounds in CU's two games. She started off the week with a double-double against Southwestern Oklahoma State as
she scored 28 points and had 10 rebounds. Bonnarens was 11-24 from the field and 4-5 from the charity stripe against
SWOSU. For the week, she totaled five assists and six steals. The sophomore is now second in the Lone Star Conference
in scoring with 16.4 points per game this season.
Cassandra Vickery, Western New Mexico, paced the Lady Mustangs against New Mexico Highlands going for 15
points, making 5-13 from the field and adding a pair of three-pointers. She also led the team in assists with four and
brought down a second-best six rebounds.
Jenna Price, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had 12 points and nine rebounds in the Lions' 102-47 win over
LeTourneau. She was active inside the paint, getting to the free throw line 12 times, making 10. She had three offensive
rebounds in the contest. Price then had 17 points and eight rebounds in the Lions' loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State.
She was 3-of-6 from behind the arc and made all six of her free throws. She is sixth in the LSC in rebounding and seventh
in free throw percentage.
Jasmine Hotchkins, Eastern New Mexico University, explosive performance at the 2017 West Texas A&M Pak-a-Sak
Thanksgiving Classic helped the Greyhounds extend their win streak to three games. The senior guard shot .500 from
outside the three-point arc and scored nine points as ENMU posted a one-point win over Colorado State-Pueblo.
Hotchkins followed with a career-best 18-point performance in a win over Texas A&M-International. She connected on
five of her 10 three-point attempts in the game and dished out two assists.
Keanna Kelly, Angelo State University, helped the Belles to a 2-1 record to open the season with double digit points
in two of the three games. The senior scored a career high 25 points in a win over Oklahoma Christian to cap off the
weekend. She hit 35.3 percent from the field and six 3-pointers. She was also perfect from the free throw line. The
Arlington native dished out nine assists and made six steals as well.
Lejha Smith, Cameron University, continued to be dominant on the glass for the Aggies this past week as she
averaged 10.5 rebounds per contest. The junior had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds against SWOSU
and then was one point short of a double-double against Harding with nine points and 10 rebounds. Smith also recorded
five blocks against the Bison, while helping limit them to just nine second chance points. She is second in the Lone Star
Conference in rebounding (11.8) and first in blocks (2.8).
Alivia Lewis, Eastern New Mexico University, led a strong defensive effort for the Greyhounds, which limited the
opposition to just 58.5 points per game at the 2017 WT Pak-a-Sak Thanksgiving Classic. She registered her best game of
the season against CSU-Pueblo, a team which entered the week in the receiving votes section of the WBCA National Poll.
The freshman forward registered the first double-double of her career with 10 points, 10 rebounds, a blocked shot and
two steals to lead ENMU to a one-point win. Lewis hit two free throws with 43 seconds left to provide the game's final
margin. On Saturday, she pulled down 11 rebounds and had two steals in a winning effort against Texas A&M-
3. International. For the week, Lewis had a team high 21 rebounds and nearly one-third (17) of the Hounds 62 defensive
boards.
Brianna Wise, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had four blocks in the Lions' 102-47 win over LeTourneau to go
along with eight points and eight assists. She then had a block to go along with nine points and five rebounds in the
Lions' loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State. Wise is fifth in the LSC in blocks and seventh in assists.
Melody McLaughlin, Western New Mexico, came through with several big plays on defense posting five steals,
along with four rebounds, two assists and 10 points. She tallied three steals alone in the fourth quarter in helping lead
the Lady Mustangs back against the Cowgirls.
Tyesha Taylor, West Texas A&M University, registered a standout weekend for the fifth ranked Lady Buffs as the
Temple, Texas native led WT to wins over Texas A&M-International and CSU-Pueblo during the Pak-A-Sak WT
Thanksgiving Classic in Canyon. The New Mexico State transfer went 7-of-16 from the floor including 6-of-12 from the
charity stripe to average 10 points per contest while grabbing seven rebounds and blocking five shots. Taylor scored a
career-high 16 points on Saturday afternoon during a big win over CSU-Pueblo as the junior went 5-of-9 from the floor
with five rebounds, one assist and a block.
Tiara Tatum, Tarleton State University, led the TexAnns with three steals at No. 8 Lubbock Christian last week.
Tatum also added nine points and two rebounds.

The Aggies dropped a pair of games this past week, falling to Southwestern Oklahoma State 81-98 and then to Harding
55-77. Jamie Bonnarens averaged 18.4 points and six rebounds per contest, with a 28 point outing against SWOSU. Lejha
Smith averaged a double-double with 11 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest and Ava Battese averaged 16 points.
Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico women's basketball team came up with two strong efforts at last week's 2017 Pak-A-Sak WT
Thanksgiving Classic and improved to 3-2 on the season. On Friday, Alivia Lewis' first double-double of the season
powered the Hounds to a wild 62-61 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo. The Thunderwolves entered the week in the
receiving votes section of the latest national poll. The lead changed hands 21 times in the game with nine tie scores.
Lewis connected on two free throws with 43 seconds left, before the Hounds closed out the game defensively. On
Saturday, Jasmine Hotchkins' career-high 18 point effort paced Eastern to a 77-56 win over Texas A&M-International.
The two wins gave Head Coach Josh Prock his 47th and 48th wins at ENMU, which moved him into second place on the
program's career win list. This week, the Hounds will host UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M as Lone Star
Conference play begins.
Midwestern State
1-1 last week.
Tarleton State
Tarleton dropped its only game of the week at No. 8 Lubbock Christian last Tuesday. The TexAnns will return to action
Thursday at Midwestern State.
Texas A&M-Commerce
4. The Lions split their games last week. They got a 102-47 win over LeTourneau on Wednesday and fell 78-66 to
Southeastern Oklahoma State on Sunday. The Lions are third in the LSC in scoring, second in free throw percentage,
third in turnover margin and third in blocks. They open up their conference season with road contests against Cameron
and Midwestern State this week.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
1-2 last week.
Texas Womanโs
TWU was defeated at No. 22 Emporia State, 88-81, Saturday.
UT Permian Basin
UT Permian Basin takes on Texas A&M International Monday night in their home opener before traveling to Eastern
New Mexico and Western New Mexico to open Lone Star Conference play.
West Texas A&M
The #5 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M remained undefeated this past weekend as they topped Texas A&M-International
and Colorado State-Pueblo during the 2017 Pak-A-Sak WT Thanksgiving Classic at the First United Bank Center in
Canyon. WT opens up Lone Star Conference action this week as they head to Silver City, New Mexico on Thursday night
for a matchup with Western New Mexico followed by a Saturday afternoon showdown with rival Eastern New Mexico on
Saturday in Portales.
Western New Mexico
The Lady Mustangs went right down to the wire with New Mexico Highlands this past Wednesday before the Cowgirls
held on for the win. Three scored in double-figures led by 15 points from Cassandra Vickery. Takiyah Lopez (12) and
Melody McLaughlin (10) rounded out the three in double-figures. Megan Looney led the way in rebounds with seven,
Vickery dished out four assists and McLaughlin had five steals. Vickery paced the Lady Mustangs against New Mexico
Highlands going for 15 points, making 5-13 from the field and adding a pair of three-pointers. She also led the team in
assists with four and brought down a second-best six rebounds. McLaughlin came through with several big plays on
defense posting five steals, along with four rebounds, two assists and 10 points. She tallied three steals alone in the
fourth quarter in helping lead the Lady Mustangs back against the Cowgirls.
