LSC MEN’S BASKETBALL
Three Lone Star Conference teams - Texas A&M-Commerce, UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M – head into the
Winter Break with just one loss.
All LSC teams are off from December 20-26 for the NCAA Division Winter Break with games resuming on Dec. 28.
The LSC men have a 69-47 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams are
currently 19-14 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 16-6 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Jordan Evans, West Texas A&M University, SR, Guard, Houston, Texas, The Village School
Evans had an outstanding week as the Buffs won two games winning the Rollins Las Vegas Classic. The senior averaged a
team-high 21.0 points per game as he went 14 of 24 from the field (.583) and 10 of 19 from distance (.526), while going
4 of 4 from the line. He averaged 5.5 rebounds per game with three assists and one steal. In the 88-60 demolishing of
Rollins, Evans had a season-high 28 points on 9 of 16 from the floor and 6 of 13 from beyond the arc. He had three
assists and one steal in the game as the Buffs improved to 11-1 on the year.
DEFENSIVE
Ryan Quaid, West Texas A&M University, JR, Guard, Fort Collins, Colo., Fossil Ridge HS
Quaid posted two big double-doubles for the Buffs in a pair of wins at the Rollins Las Vegas Classic. West Texas A&M
won the tournament holding opponents to 61 points per game and a 40.4 field goal percentage. Quaid posted 18 points
and 11 rebounds against Southern Indiana and followed with 13 points and 12 rebounds against Rollins. It was Quaid's
11th and 12th career double-doubles and he now has six for the season. He went a team-best 14-19 from the field
(.737).

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Corinthian Ramsey, Tarleton State University, led Tarleton with 21.5 points per game in a pair of games. Ramsey
scored 25 points in a near upset of No. 16 Western Oregon. Ramsey followed with an 18-point performance in a 76-71
win over NAIA No. 15 Wayland Baptist where he shot 6-8 from the floor and 4-6 on 3-pointers. For the week, Ramsey
shot 46 percent overall, 43 percent on 3-pointers and 92 percent on free throws.
Daeshon Francis, UT Permian Basin, led the Falcons with 21 points in a 90-81 victory on the road at St. Edward's.
The senior guard scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half after sitting out much of the first due to foul trouble. He
was 8-14 from the field on the night and grabbed eight rebounds. He now ranks second in the LSC with 21.4 points per
game, has scored in double figures in all 10 games this season and recorded at least 21 points in six of 10 contests.
Brandon Williams, Angelo State University, once again headed the Rams offensive efforts this week in the team's
only game against Lubbock Christian. The senior assisted the Rams in slotting a redemption win as he sank 19 points for
the game. He was 7-9 from short-range and 5-7 from the stripe. In addition, Williams grabbed a team leading 13 boards
and a single block to assist the defense.
Reggie Reid, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was the Lions' leader in both points and assists last week, averaging
16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 49 percent from the field. He had 16 points, seven rebounds
and four assists as well as five steals in the Lions' 14-point win over Rogers State. He then had a season-high 20 points
with seven rebounds and four assists in the Lions' one-point loss to No. 11 Arkansas-Fort Smith, as well as five steals. He
finished the week with 12 points and four rebounds in the Lions' big win over A&M-Int'l. Reid is 11th in the LSC in
scoring, fourth in assists and leads the conference in steals.
Willie McCray, Western New Mexico, paced the offense against the University of the Southwest as he tallied 17
points, connecting on 5-14 from the field and 3-8 from long range. He added nine points and six rebounds against
Arizona Christian to average 13 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Dorian Armstrong, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had five blocks and two steals last week and helped the Lion
defense hold opponents to 34 percent shooting. He had nine points and a steal to go along with four rebounds and
three assists in the Lions' win over Rogers State. He then had a three blocks and a steal in the Lions one-point loss to No.
11 Arkansas-Fort Smith. He had two blocks against A&M-Int'l in the Lions win. Armstrong is fourth in the LSC in
rebounds.
Josh Hawley, Tarleton State University, averaged a double-double with 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in a pair of
games for Tarleton. Hawley recorded his fourth double-double of the season in a near upset of No. 16 Western Oregon
with 11 points, 12 rebounds and also added two steals. Hawley followed up with 18 points and nine rebounds to go with
a game-high 3 blocks and a steal in a 76-71 win over NAIA No. 15 Wayland Baptist.
James Kirksey, Angelo State University, lead the Rams defensive efforts and helping to earn a redemption win
against the Lubbock Christian Chaps this week. The junior guard closed out the night pocketing a team leading four
3. steals. He also tallied a squad second 10 total rebounds for ASU. Offensively, he put up 17 points, going 7-11 from inside
the arch to mark a team second for the game.
Sammy Allen, UT Permian Basin, had a monster game on the glass, grabbing 16 rebounds in a 90-81 win on the road
at St. Edward's. The Lone Star Conference leading rebounder on the year with 11.6 rpg, Allen had five offensive
rebounds on the night. He added 13 points and had a team-high seven assists. It was his third double-double of the
season and fifth time in six games that he's recorded double-digit rebounds.
Latrell Spivey, Western New Mexico, went for a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds against Arizona
Christian. He made 7-13 from the field in that game and went 2-2 at the foul line. To open the week versus the
University of the Southwest he went for six points and six rebounds, making 3-6 from the field. He averaged 11 points
and 8.5 rebounds in the two games.

The Rams improves to 9-2, 2-1 LSC on the season with its solo victory over Lubbock Christian. The Rams will return to
action on Thursday, December 28th against McMurray at the Stephens Arena at the Junell Center.

UT Permian Basin
No. 10 UT Permian Basin picked up a road win in its lone game of the week, traveling to Austin for a 90-81 win at St.
Edward's. Daeshon Francis scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half and Sammy Allen led all players with 16
rebounds, the fourth time in five games he has grabbed double-digit boards.
West Texas A&M
The West Texas A&M men's basketball team improved to 11-1 with a pair of wins over Southern Indiana and Rollins this
week in the Rollins Las Vegas Classic...WT fought off a pesky Southern Indiana squad for a 65-62 win on Monday and ran
away from Rollins for an 88-60 win Tuesday...Junior Ryan Quaid posted two big double-doubles for the Buffs in a pair of
wins at the Rollins Las Vegas Classic as the team won the tournament. Quaid went a team-best 14-19 from the field

Western New Mexico
The Mustangs let a halftime lead slip against the University of the Southwest to open the week as they were up 41-31 at
the break, but a 59-point second half sent Southwest to the win. The next night against Arizona Christian, the Mustangs
kept it competitive throughout, keeping things with a possession or two during a majority of the second half before the
Firestorm held on for the win. Willie McCray and Latrell Spivey paced the team on both offense and defense. McCray
paced the offense against the University of the Southwest as he tallied 17 points, connecting on 5-14 from the field and
3-8 from long range. He added nine points and six rebounds against Arizona Christian to average 13 points, 4.5
rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Spivey went for a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds against
Arizona Christian. He made 7-13 from the field in that game and went 2-2 at the foul line. To open the week versus the
University of the Southwest he went for six points and six rebounds, making 3-6 from the field. He averaged 11 points
