1. LSC MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The men’s bracket for the Lone Star Conference Basketball Championship March 2-5 in Allen, Texas, is set.
Eight teams have advanced to the LSC Championship Tournament and the postseason begins with first-
round games on Thursday, March 2.
UT Permian Basin claimed the LSC title with a 14-4 league record in their first year in the conference.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com, as well as the Allen Event Center
box office. Single-session tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
All seven games will be streamed live free of charge through the LSC’s GameCentral portal (http://portal.
stretchinternet.com/lonestar). In addition to supporting desktop and laptop computers, GameCentral’s
responsive design will support mobile devices as well (iPad, iPhones, Android).
LSC MEN’S BASKETBALL
The LSC men have a 165-111 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s
teams are currently 21-6 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 14-4 against the Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Johnnie Lacy, UT Permian Basin, SR, Guard, Milwaukee, Wis., Notre Dame Prep
Lacy led the Falcons in scoring in a pair of wins over the Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce to clinch
the Lone Star Conference title. Lacy scored 18 points against Tarleton hitting a field goal, pair of threes and all
10 free throw attempts on the night. He dished out eight assists as well in the 86-74 win. Lacy came back to
score 22 points with five 3-pointers, seven rebounds and six assists in an 86-69 triumph over A&M-C to clinch
the title outright.
DEFENSIVE
Sammy Allen, UT Permian Basin, JR, Forward, Oakland, Calif., Alameda High School
Allen had a great week on the glass for the Falcons, averaging 15 rebounds per game as UT Permian Basin
picked up wins over Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce to clinch the Lone Star Conference title. He
dominated the paint versus the Texans, grabbing 20 rebounds with 17 points in an 86-74 victory while helping
UTPB to a 47-25 rebounding advantage. He ended the weekend with 10 more rebounds as UTPB defeated
A&M-C 86-69. Allen ends the regular season as the LSC rebounding leader with 11.5 boards per game.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
David Chavlovich, West Texas A&M University, the leading scorer in the LSC continued to impress this past
weekend averaging 23.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Buffs in a pair of home wins over Texas
A&M-Commerce and No. 15 Tarleton State to close out the regular season. The Arlington native went 14-of-31
(45.2 percent) from the floor including 6-of-17 (35.3) from deep and 13-of-16 (81.3) from the free throw line
to go along with five rebounds, six assists and three steals in the pair of wins. Chavlovivh scored 29 points on
Thursday night in a win over A&M-C as the junior went 8-of-19 from the floor and 3-of-11 from deep to go along
with three rebounds followed by a 18 point performance on Saturday against Tarleton.
Will West, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, has been making a campaign for the Javelinas sixth man of the
year award after a .667 shooting percentage, including 5-of-5 from three-point range in the final two games
of the regular season. Against Western New Mexico, West had his second consecutive 19-point performance
which is a new career-high for the sophomore. He also shot a perfect 3-of-3 from downtown to contribute to
his .700 clip in the 74-61 win.
Emery Range, Western New Mexico, tied his career-high during his two-year career at WNMU going for 21
points against Angelo State on senior day. He made seven field goals, three three-pointers and four free throws
in playing 39 minutes. For the week he averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals.
Chantz Chambers, Tarleton State University, averaged 11 points per game and 2.5 assists while shooting 45
percent from the floor. Chambers scored a team-high 16 points against West Texas A&M.
Romond Jenkins, Tarleton State University, led the Texans in rebounds with 10 boards per game. Jenkins had
a double-double against UTPB with 15 points and 11 rebounds. It was the 16th double-double of the season for
Jenkins, who is the only player in the LSC this season to average a double-double.
Dorian Armstrong, Texas A&M University-Commerce, recorded his fourth double-double of the season
against UT Permian Basin. He averaged 10 points and 8.5 rebounds last week and had two blocks and a steal.
Armstrong finished six in the conference in rebounding average and third in blocks.
Ryan Quaid, West Texas A&M University, had another big weekend for the Buffs as the sophomore averaged
12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a pair of home wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and No. 15 Tarleton State to
close out the regular season. The Fort Collins native went 9-of-14 (64.3 percent) from the floor including 6-of-7
(85.7) from the free throw line to go along with 16 rebounds (five offensive, 11 defensive), four assists, one
block and one steal in the wins. On Saturday against Tarleton, Quaid went 6-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-3 from
the free throw line with 15 points and seven rebounds for the Buffs in a Senior Day win at the First United Bank
Center.
Jordan Enriquez, Western New Mexico, led the team in rebounding pulling down 16 and also in steals with
five. Of his 16 rebounds, 13 came on the defensive end, as he went for a double-double with 10 points and

he tallied three steals and dished out two assists. For
the week he averaged 5.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0
assists and 2.5 steals.
Duan Wright, Texas A&M University-Kingsville,
made his presence known on the defensive end of
the floor in the final two games of the regular season.
Wright led the team with six total steals including
four against the Western New Mexico Mustangs
where he also added 11 points and shot 7-of-8 from
the charity stripe. The Louisiana native concluded the
weekend with a .833 free throw shooting percentage
and chipped in nine points per game.

No. 15 Tarleton fell on the road to UTPB and West
Texas A&M. The Texans clinched the No. 2 seed for
the LSC tournament and will take on Angelo State on
Thursday, March 2.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions lost two games last week and finished in
fourthplaceintheconference.TheLionsfinishedthird
in the conference in scoring and led the conference in
turnover margin and steals. A&M-Commerce will face
Cameron as the fourth seed in the quarterfinal round
of the LSC Postseason Championship Tournament on
Friday.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
Hogs end regular season on a two-game winning
streak. As the No. 6 seed, the Javelinas will have a
rubber match against No. 3 West Texas A&M in the
first round of the LSC tournament. Both clubs won
the regular season games on their home floor.
UT Permian Basin
UT Permian Basin won its first Lone Star Conference
championship this past weekend with wins over
Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce. Four
different Falcons scored in double figures Thursday
night in an 86-74 win over Tarleton State. Johnnie
Lacy led the Falcons with 18 points and six assists.
Sammy Allen added 17 points on 6-7 shooting and led
all players with 20 rebounds. The Falcons closed out
the game shooting 58 percent from the floor and out-
rebounded Tarleton State 47-25. UTPB clinched its
first ever LSC championship Saturday with an 86-69
win over A&M-C. Lacy once again paced UTPB, scoring
22 points on 7-12 from the field with five 3-pointers
to go with seven rebounds and six assists. Daeshon
Francis added 16 points with seven rebounds and five
assists.
West Texas A&M
The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M ended the 2016-
17 regular season on a high note this past weekend
as they topped Texas A&M-Commerce and No. 15
Tarleton State in LSC action in Canyon. WT finished
the season a perfect 15-0 inside of the First United

Bank Center to move to 24-7 (12-6 LSC) overall.
WT went 55-of-115 (47.8 percent) from the field in
the two games including 21-of-59 (35.6) from deep
and 43-of-57 (75.4) from the free throw line while
averaging 87.0 points and 35.0 rebounds in the wins.
The Buffs head to Allen, Texas for the 2017 Lone Star
Conference Men’s Basketball Championship being
held at the Allen Event Center this weekend. Third-
seeded WT will take on sixth-seeded Texas A&M-
Kingsville in the quarterfinal round with tipoff set for
2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
Western New Mexico
The Mustangs finished the season playing two close
games against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo
State. After falling by 13 to the Javelinas, WNMU
had a lead on the Rams before Angelo State came
back for the six-point victory. While Emery Range
and Jordan Enriquez had big weeks, CJ Vanbeekum
and Willie McCray each tallied over 20 points with
Vanbeekum recording 24 and McCray with 21. Range
tied his career-high during his two-year career at
WNMU going for 21 points against Angelo State on
