1. LSC MEN’S BASKETBALL
The Lone Star Conference men’s basketball teams have started play with a 32-9 overall record. UT Permian
Basin, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State remain unbeaten in non-
conference action.
The LSC men have a 32-9 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s
teams are currently 10-4 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 10-2 against the Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Daeshon Francis, UT Permian Basin, JR, Guard, Indianapolis, Ind., Lawrence North
The reigning LSC offensive player of the week, Francis put up another great pair of games, scoring 34 points
against Southwestern Adventist and 28 against Paul Quinn. He hit on 23 of 29 from the field and averaged 11.5
rebounds, recording a double-double in the second game with a team-high 14 rebounds. He now leads all LSC
players in averaging 25.2 points per game for the 5-0 Falcons
DEFENSIVE
Justin Hollins, Angelo State University, SR, Forward, Houston, Texas, Trent International
The defensive effort was led by forward Justin Hollins, who tied the ASU single-game record for blocks in his
first game with the team at eight. The eight-block effort is tied for the second-most in Division II this season.
Hollins followed up the opening game performance with another six blocks in the Sunday contest, making him
first in Division II and the Lone Star Conference with 14 in just two games. The senior recorded all of his blocks
while only being called for one personal foul in the two games and added in a steal against Huston-Tillotson
as well.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Logan Hicks, Midwestern State University, led Midwestern State in scoring in both games of the Patterson
Auto Family Classic as the Mustangs split games against Our Lady of the Lake and St. Mary’s. The true freshman
from Temple averaged 16.5 points while shooing 50 percent from the field (11-of-22) with five 3-pointers over
the weekend. The 6-2, 170-pound guard connected on 5-of-8 shots drilling three triples to finish with 18 points
while dishing out a season-high five assists in a 102-72 win over Our Lady of the Lake. Hicks continued his stellar
scoring 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting with two 3s in Saturday’s 72-70 loss to St. Mary’s. He is shooting 42.9
percent from the arc for the season (42.9 percent) scoring in double figures in each of his last four contests.
Daquane Willford, Texas A&M University - Commerce, scored 16 points off of the bench for the Lions in their
129-65 rout of Dallas Christian College. The team came four points short of setting a program record for most
points in a single game. Willford shot 78 percent from the field and was perfect from the free throw line in 22
minutes of play. He was also the lead facilitator off of the bench, dishing out four assists to a bench that scored
71 points. He also had five rebounds from the guard position and had a steal on defense. His seven field goals
came mostly on fast breaks. Willford ran the court and finished at the rim, making all seven of his shots inside
the 3-point line. He contributed to A&M-Commerce’s 27 fast break points. He was one of six Lions who scored
in double figures.
Ridell Camidge, Tarleton State University, has led No. 10 Tarleton in scoring in each of the first three games
in helping the Texans to a 3-0 starting, including a 67-58 win over Concordia-Irvine on Saturday. Camidge’s
second-half 3-pointer gave Tarleton its biggest lead at 53-40, and also went 4-4 from the free-throw line to
improve to a perfect 14-14 on the season.
Prince Foster, Angelo State University, scored a team-second 30 points from the wing and led the team in
rebounds (15) and assists (6) as well for the week. Five of his rebounds were on the offensive glass, helping
the Rams get extra scoring opportunities. The senior was efficient in his scoring, shooting .533 from the field
and .600 from behind the arc. Foster also recorded his first double-double of the season on Saturday against
Huston-Tilllotson, bringing down 10 boards to go along with his 15 points.
Romond Jenkins, Tarleton State University, posted his second double-double of the season with 10 points
and 13 rebounds as No. 10 Tarleton topped Concordia-Irvine 67-58 on Saturday to improve to 3-0. Jenkins
helped hold CUI to 35 percent shooting and a season-low in points. Jenkins is averaging 12.3 rebounds per
game on the season.
Malik Albert, Texas A&M University - Commerce, had three steals in A&M-Commerce’s 129-65 win over
Dallas Christian College. He led the team in steals in 16 minutes of play. He is currently leading the Lone Star
Conference in steals per game, averaging 3.3. The Lions outscored DCC 109-43 in the final 31 minutes of the
game, causing 27 turnovers and scoring 41 points off of those turnovers. The team held the Crusaders to 35
percent shooting from the field and 29 percent from behind the arc. DCC shot 17 percent from three and 31
percent overall in the second half. Albert also had nine points on 4-of-7 shooting on the offensive end. He had
one rebound and two assists.

Midwestern State suffered through its season low scoring output of 70 points after scoring in triple figures the
last two times out against Adams State and Our Lady of the Lake... The Mustangs were held to four 3-pointers
against St. Mary’s after firing in 44 triples in the first four games of the season... St. Mary’s has won two of
the last three against Midwestern State as the Rattlers won for the first time since 1994 at Ligon Coliseum
snapping a six-game skid in Wichita Falls... MSU placed five scorers in double figures for the second straight
game including Logan Hicks (15 points), Igor Ibaka (11 points), Nick Powell (11 points), Magnus Richards (10
points) and Brandon Neel (10 points)... Freshman Logan Hicks extended his double-figure scoring streak to four
games. He is shooting 24-of-44 (54.5 percent) with 12 3-pointers during the stretch averaging 17.3 points per
game... Senior guard Sheldon Hagigal did not score in eight minutes of floor time against St. Mary’s to snap a
run of four straight games in double figures... Junior forward Nick Powell netted a career-best 11 points going
4-for-7 from the field with a 3-pointer... Sophomore forward Nemanja Krtolica followed his double-double
against Our Lady of the Lake (12 points, 12 rebounds) with an 8-point, 9-rebound effort against the Rattlers...
Tarleton State
No. 10 Tarleton defeated Concordia-Irvine 67-58 on Saturday to improve to 3-0 on the season. It’s the fourth
straight season Tarleton has won its first three games. Ridell Camidge led all scorers with 15 points while
Romond Jenkins recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions scored a 64-point blowout win over Dallas Christian College on Saturday. They are now 3-0 on the
season, their best start since 2013-14. They had six players in double figures while no player played more
than 22 minutes. They also had 16 steals and caused 27 turnovers. A&M-Commerce is leading the Lone Star
Conference in point differential, outscoring their opponents by an average of nearly 30 points per game.
They are averaging nearly 105 points per game, which is second in the conference. The Lions are leading the
conference in offensive rebounds and are second overall in total rebounding. Opponents are averaging 21
turnovers per game as opposed to just 12 for the Lions. Their turnover differential of 9.0 leads the LSC. They
also lead the conference in assist to turnover ratio. Malik Albert is leading the conference, averaging 3.3
steals per game. A&M-Commerce as a team leads the conference with 13 steals per game. Albert is also third
in scoring average. De’Andre Carson leads the conference, shooting 60 percent from the 3-point line. Dorian
Armstrong is third in the conference in rebounding average. A&M-Commerce has three games this week, with
a Tuesday night game against Southern Arkansas. They then join Tarleton State for a two-game tournament
over the Thanksgiving weekend, playing back-to-back games in Stephenville on Friday and Saturday.
Texas A&M-Kingsville

UT Permian Basin
UTPB Men’s Basketball remains undefeated on the season having beaten Southwestern Adventist 113-62 and
Paul Quinn 124-101. Lone Star Conference leading scorer Daeshon Francis went 23-29 from the field on the
weekend (79.3 percent) to average 28 points per game. The Falcons now lead the LSC with a 109.2 scoring
average and rank among the NCAA leaders in scoring.
