The Effect Of Jazz s Effect On American Culture
In this essay I will be discussing the effect that jazz had on American culture from the time of its birth
up until 1960. I will begin my essay by discussing how American culture and American music was
before jazz came about. Before Jazz came about the music and ways of American culture was much
different. I will then discus the birth of jazz and how it all began. Jazz had a major effect on the
American culture which I will be demonstrating in my essay. Jazz developed and spread throughout
the years, and I will be explaining what effect this had on American culture. The second decade of the
20th century was a decade full of dramatic changes for American culture. Some changes included the
fact that the automobile was a way of life and that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The birth and development of Jazz was a revolution of culture that improved racial relations. Slavery
was long abolished by the time of jazz but the racism still remained. As Jazz music was associated
strongly with African Americans this made it hard for extremely talented African American musicians
to make it in the music industry. . Edward Ellington was another major influential character in the
development of swing music at this time. Ellington was an incredible pianist, composer, arranger and
bandleader of jazz orchestras. Ellington was a band leader for a very successful and loyal band.
Unfortunately his race came in the way of his recognition as an incredible composer when his radio
appearance was cancelled because advertisers did not want to be linked to a black

The Issue Of School Finance
School finance has been a contentious issue around the country due to the amount of money that is
required to provide a public education to all children. Exacerbating the issue is the fact that there is no
uniformity across each state because the federal government does not have any clause within the U.S.
Constitution that requires a funding of public education. Providing education is simply relegated to
each state under the 10th amendment (Russo, 2016). Ohio State Constitution Article VI: The General
Assembly shall make such provisions, by taxation, or otherwise, as, with the income arising from the
school trust fund, will secure a thorough and efficient system of common schools throughout the state;
but no religious or other sect, or sects, shall ever have any exclusive right to, or control of, any part of
the school funds of this state. This clause guarantees that common schools (public) will be supported
by the state and local governments. What does efficient mean? Should every school district receive the
same amount of money?
The Supreme Court of Ohio heard a case in 1979 that challenged the adequacy of school funding
(Russo, 2016). The Court ruled that funding was adequate but in 1994 Perry County Court Judge
Linton Lewis, Jr., ruled that public education is a fundamental right in the state of Ohio and that the
state legislature had to provide a better and more equitable means of financing education (DeRolph
Vs. State of Ohio, 2001). This would eventually lead to

List of key terms and/or loaded terms: Justification (justified by faith ... by blood). Boast in ...
Reconciled (Reconciliation). Wrath of God.
Justification: Paul tells us that we, as believers in Jesus Christ, are justified by our faith in Christ; and
that we have been justified by the blood of Jesus. In Macmillan Bible Dictionary, justification is
defined as, basically a legal concept, and refers to a person s status in a court of law rather than to their
moral character. The New Interpreter s Dictionary of the Bible describes justification as to being set
right, to being vindicated by a judge, to having a debt removed, or to having a right relationship
restored or granted. Paul is saying that we have been made right in our relationship with God when,
even while we still were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Albert Barnes states that we rejoice should have been used in both verses. Boast in ... is used again in
verse 11, where Paul declares that we rejoice in God through Jesus Christ.
Reconciled (Reconciliation): Paul uses the word reconciled twice in verse 10 and the word
reconciliation in verse 11. In The New Interpreter s Dictionary of the Bible, A. Andrew Das states that
reconciliation indicates a change in social relationship in which two parties previously at enmity with
each other exchange friendship and peace. Throughout history God has had to punish His people for
disobedience. In effect, when we sin we become enemies of God. Through the blood of Jesus, and our
faith in Him, we are brought back into God s grace, and we will achieve eternal life through His
resurrection and his ongoing life.

Lady Macbeth Freudian Analysis Essay
Freudian Analysis of Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth from Shakespeare s Macbeth transitioned from a nearly sociopathic and manipulative
individual to a woman totally consumed with guilt. This seems to happen quickly when the book is
first read. In order to further understand her deterioration one can compare Lady Macbeth s radical
change to Freud s theory of the id, ego, and superego. When Lady Macbeth is first introduced she
becomes a very id centered individual; she wants to be rid of her superego. After King Duncan is
killed there is an immediate shift in her tone, her superego begins to creep back into control and her
ego takes over. By the time Lady Macbeth dies she has become completely controlled by her
superego; she s ashamed and guilty of her actions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon hearing of the weird sisters prophecy Lady Macbeth yelled: Come, you spirits That tend on
mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top full Of direst cruelty
(Macbeth 1.5 39 42). In this sentence, Lady Macbeth pleaded with the spirits to be filled with the
direst cruelty. This small statement tells us a great deal about who lady Macbeth was before reading
the letter and who the letter turned her into. Lady Macbeth needed to be filled with with cruelty
meaning that she didn t start out this way. From this it can be concluded that Lady Macbeth became
heavily id centric only after reading the letter. To put this into a Freudian point of view before Lady
Macbeth read the letter she mainly listened to either her ego or superego, however after reading the
letter she only listened to her id. From this it can be concluded that Lady Macbeth ceremoniously
attempted to kill her superego in this moment by refusing to listen to

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
RM stands for Customer Relationship Management. It is an approach used to learn more about
customers needs and manners in order to develop stronger relationships with them. Good customer
relationships are at the core of business achievement. There are many technological mechanisms to
CRM, but thinking about CRM in mainly technological terms is a mistake. The more useful way to
think about CRM is as a calculated process that will help you better understand your customers needs
and how you can meet those needs and increase your bottom line at the same time. This strategy
depends on gathering lots of pieces of information about customers and market trends so you can sell
and market your products and services more effectively. Maintaining customers happiness while
keeping service costs down: That s the definitive goal of every customer service executive. CRM
applications help you provide faster, more approachable, and less pricey service across every channel
from the call center to the social Web. Today, many of discussions and questions about your company
and products are appearing on social networks. After all, most customers may turn first to Google,

of the product under the test.Software testing also allows the testers to appreciate and understand the
risks of software implementation .Test technique include the process of executing a programme or
application to find software bugs. 4.2 Testing Objective: Objective of testing is to find maximum
errors in the software. So, a good testing strategy is the one with high potential of finding errors and
bugs. The main testing objectives are: Are the component meet the requirements that guided it design

There is no need for the tester to have detailed functional knowledge of system. Tests will be done
from an end user s point of view, because the end user should accept the system. (This testing
technique is sometimes also called Acceptance testing.) Testing helps to identify errors and
contradictions in functional specifications. Test cases can be designed as soon as the functional
specifications are complete. Disadvantages of Black Box Testing Test cases are challenging to design
without having clear functional specifications. It is difficult to identify tricky inputs if the test cases
are not developed based on specifications. It is difficult to identify all possible inputs in limited testing
time. As a result, writing test cases may be slow and difficult. There are chances of having
unidentified paths during the testing process. There is a high probability of repeating tests already
performed by the programmer. 4.4 Testing Levels: Different levels of testing were employed for

Similarities Between Islam And Christianity
With regards to the religions of Islam and Christianity, it is imperative to recognize that these two
practices account for some of the largest followings in the history of modern civilization. With that
being said, the links between Islam and Christianity can be astoundingly similar whilst also offering
key characteristics of difference. Although both emphasize certain ideals in differing contexts, I d
argue that it would be reprehensible not to recognize the power the devout followers of both practices
receive upon praying to their God from above.
Islam is a Abrahamic monotheistic religion dating back to 610 CE Saudi Arabia, when the last and
final prophet Muhammad retrieved to a cave to pray and received revelations from God or ( Allah
Arabic word for God) through an angel by the name of Gabriel. These said revelations would later be
known as the beginning of the holy book the Quran . This event took place on Mount Jabal An Nour,
in a cave by the name of Hira. It is the world s second largest religion, and the fastest growing
religion. With over 1 billion followers in 50 countries worldwide (predominantly countries in the
Middle East) 24.1 % of the world s population.

In Chapter 7: Effective Prayer, it is indicated that with good prayers, good replies will be assured,
noting that good will and intentions are of great virtue. Evil thoughts and intentions will be rewarded
with the refusal entry to the heavens. In other Buddhist doctrines, Buddha teaches spiritual richness
rather than material indulgence, where it is also evident in Chapter 6: True Treasures. Both faiths tend
to comfort the poor and signify spirituality in the mortal life as in the immortal life will carry nothing
materialistic from the previous. In their teachings both require their worshippers to cleanse their inner
beings and focus on doing the right for oneself and the others. They both call for the rise of well
perceived communities in its good morality and ethics despising ill doing and evil. They note that in
the after life there will be a choice of reward, one which is divine for the ones who spirited in life and
well treated his fellow man, the other is hell for the ones who broke the path of the teachings.

sources and the methods may differ, but the objective is always the unification of broad communities

Theme Of Rage In The Thousand And One Nights
The Thousand and One Nights, is a frame tale, where there are stories within stories, in which all the
tales included have a connection. The overall frame of the tale is the transformation of a good king to
a tyrant, which was caused the deception of his wife that invoked the King s anger by her infidelity. As
the overall tale continues, stories come into perspective and back up the main topic of the story by
using its own issues as examples. When reading the recurring theme in the overall frame and the
stories within the story is rage. There is a frequency in the tales, in where an issue occurs then it
enrages the subject, which causes a consequence that affects the one at fault. Therefore, a lesson can
be taken out of the the tale as a form of knowledge and progression. Analyzation of the theme of rage
can be done throughout the frame tales of The Thousand and One Nights. The Thousand and One
Nights, is the story of King Shahrayar, where King Shahrayar sees before his own eyes his wife
cheating on him with a black slave and also his ten slave girls sleeping with other men. After the
deception of his wife, he then declares that he will have a new wife everyday and then put her to death

Tam Lin Relationship Analysis
From Blackstock to Nowhere: Relationships and Power Dynamics in Two Retellings of the Ballad of
Tam Lin The Scottish folk ballad Tam Lin is a very popular ballad which has inspired many
contemporary writers and artists to create their own retellings and reinterpretations. Fire and Hemlock
by Diana Wynne Jones and Tam Lin by Pamela Dean are two of these retellings. In these novels, Jones
and Dean have masterfully brought the events and characters of the traditional ballad into the modern
world. Although both novels have drawn from the same source there are a number of distinct
differences between the two, especially when it comes to the relationship between their Janet and Tam
Lin characters (Polly Whittacker and Tom Lynn in Fire and Hemlock, and Janet Carter and Thomas
Lane in Tam Lin), and the balance of power between them throughout the narrative. While Jones
novel is very much centered around the idea of Tam Lin being one of the rare few folk ballads or tales
with a female hero and is structured as such to give Polly a position of power and equality in the
relationship by the end, Dean seems to approach her retelling of the ballad from a different direction,
questioning whether Janet really is as empowered by her role as the hero as it may seem at first. In
both novels, the first meeting between the Janet and Tam Lin characters sets a strong base for their
initial relationship, especially regarding the power dynamics within that relationship. In the ballad of

destructive relationship with his parents has affected the relationship he has with himself. Alec has

The Act Of 2001 ( Usa Patriot Act, Or Usapa )
After the 2001 September 11th attacks on the world trade center the nations homeland security
policies had to be reinforced. The awkwardly titled so as to unite and Strengthening America
Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001 (USA
PATRIOT Act, or USAPA) presented a plenty of administrative changes which altogether expanded
the reconnaissance and investigative forces of law authorization organizations in the United States.
The Act did not, in any case, accommodate the arrangement of balanced governance that generally
protects common freedoms despite such enactment. Authoritative recommendations in light of the
terrorist assaults of September 11, 2001 were presented not exactly a week after the assaults. President
Bush marked the last bill, the USA PATRIOT Act, into law on October 26, 2001. Despite the fact that
the Act made critical corrections to more than 15 imperative statutes, it was presented with awesome
flurry and went with little verbal confrontation, and without a House, Senate, or meeting report.
Therefore, it needs foundation authoritative history that regularly reflectively gives important statutory
understanding. The Act was a trade off form of the Anti Terrorism Act of 2001 (ATA), an expansive
authoritative bundle planned to fortify the country s protection against terrorism. The ATA contained a
few procurements incomprehensibly growing the power of law authorization and knowledge

How Technological Warfare Could Not Be Considered The...
Technological warfare might not be considered the fairest of them all, especially not in this era of
warfare advances. Multiple technological advances have been made, and many of them have been
made for the purpose of war. A very common technological advance in relation to war is guns, but
there is no gun like the CIA s (Central Intelligence Agency) 1970 s Heart Attack Gun. According to
Kurt Nimmo of Info Wars, at the point when the heart assault firearm is shot at an individual, the fatal
poison from the bullet rapidly enters the circulatory system causing a myocardial infarction. The toxic
substance denatures rapidly, so a post mortem is unable to determine the cause of the cardiac arrest.
The dart from this complex CIA weapon can penetrate garments and leave only a small red spot on the
skin, like that of a mosquito bite. The toxic dart disintegrates to its aggregate in the wake of entering
the target. We all know what the purpose of a firearm is, even on the battlefield, but imagine being
able to play war off of the battlefield and without arising suspicion. Imagine taking out your enemy
without having to be held accountable for it. Well those are the implications of a gun with this much
power. Now, moving forward to yet another military rate weapon advancement in technological

The Genre Of Victire In William Wordsworth s Peter Bell
In recent years, William Wordsworth s Peter Bell has become the subject of much critical discussion.
In an article entitled, J. H. Reynolds Re Echoes the Wordsworthian Reputation: Peter Bell, Remaking
the Work and Mocking the Man, Brian Bates focuses on subsequent parodies of Peter Bell in order to
expose how the parodies mock Wordsworth s use of genre, poetic diction, and subject matter. Despite
this harsh criticism, Bates suggests that the parodies renew our perspective and distance us from the
first reading of Wordsworth s Peter Bell. This distance prohibits the reader from fully conceptualizing
the significance of Peter Bell and undermines Wordsworth s abilities as a writer. John Hamilton
Reynolds parody entitled Peter Bell: A Lyrical Ballad was the catalyst for all of the subsequent
parodies that were written about Peter Bell. Reynolds satirizes the main character Peter Bell, but he
also predicts the ruin of Wordsworth by suggesting that this work leads to his demise. The parody
ultimately serves as a distortion of Wordsworth s qualms with morality, which he conveys through
Peter Bell s journey of self discovery. William Wordsworth dramatizes real life situations by using
aspects of the gothic genre in order to portray the topic of repentance. In this paper, I will examine
William Wordsworth s thematic concerns with death in Peter Bell in order to observe the extent to
which the gothic mode of writing structures the concept of repentance and the ways

2. Disability Law is predominantly associated with special education programs and students. What do
you know about IDEA? Discrimination on the basis of disability has spread far and wide including in
institutions of learning. For a long time, persons with disability were discriminated against and were
considered to have several inabilities. Individuals with disability are everywhere including in
institutions of learning. Several measures have been taken to protect persons with disability. The IDEA
act has played a major role in protecting the rights of the children with disability by putting in place
measures to help these children. This act has also defined various disabilities among children and
ways in which these children can find help. Some of these disabilities include learning disabilities

Formative Assessment Paper
Good Afternoon EDL 605:
It was nice seeing you all this past Saturday. I was deeply impressed with the quality of your NEASC
presentations. I will post feedback in Blackboard before the end of the week.
After the NEASC presentations, we transitioned into a discussion about assessment. There are two
types of assessments, formative and summative. For the unit you are fully developing, please include
two formative assessments and one summative assessment.
Formative assessments are non graded, during instruction, checks for understanding. Effective
formative assessments are part of a planned process of instruction that regularly monitors student
comprehension and understanding. For the unit you are fully developing, please include a minimum ...

In order to effectively deploy quantitative methodology, it will require you to identify key data
sources, create and maintain a data warehouse, and use the data warehouse to quantitatively analyze
and report on student performance data. Please consider me a resource now and in the future. I love
data, and am always willing to help you analyze data sets. For those of you going on to pursue your
Sixth Year Degree, or potentially a Doctorate Degree, you will spend a considerable amount of time
studying qualitative and quantitative research methodology, and designing a research project using
quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods methodology. If anyone is interested in studying student
motivation or the efficacy of efforts to reduce racial, ethnic, and economic isolation in Connecticut,
please let me know; these are my areas of research interest. I would love to work with you to design a
project and co author a paper for publication. I promise it will be a lot of work, but I guarantee it will
be rewarding, and will help inform practices in schools throughout

The Adlerian Theory Essay
The Adlerian Theory Alfred Adler was the founder of Adlerian Counseling. He was born in 1870 in
the country of Austria. who gave his theory the name Individual Psychology, because he wanted
people to see that his theory and methods were designed to help clients help themselves. He believed
that everyone had and internal need to be a part of society, and a desire to contribute to that society.
That everyone strives for perfection, and everyone initially feels inferior to everyone else. He believed
that when that feeling is not overcome, inferiority complexes develop, and if a person tries to
overcompensate for inferiority, the develop superiority complex. The biggest emphasis Alder placed
on his theory was the order in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

That only children like being the center of adult attention, often have difficulty sharing with siblings
and peers, and prefer adult company and the use adult language. His opinion was that a counselor
should function primarily as a teacher and model for the client. That they should have a health
relationship in which both counselor and client are on equal grounds. The counselors job, according to
Adler, was to learn why clients think and behave the way they do; by gathering information about the
clients family and their early memories. Then the counselor should share his or her interpretation of
the client and try to build a restorative relationship. Adler s goals for the client were to help them
develop a healthy, complete lifestyle, and to help them overcome feelings of inferiority. He developed
a 12 stage process to help a client reach his or her goals. These stages are: Stage one: the empathy
relationship stage, Stage two: the information stage, Stage three: the clarification stage, Stage four: the
encouragement stage, Stage five: the interpretation and recognition stage, Stage six: the knowing

The Importance Of Condoms
Sexual intercourse has various meanings to different people. It is typically a fun activity that people
usually experience and enjoy. Condoms are a material used to practice safe sexual intercourse and
these materials are made up of small, thin pouches made of latex (rubber), plastic (polyurethane,
nitrile, or polyisoprene) or lambskin, that cover your penis during sex and collect semen are a thin
covering, worn on the penis during sex to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases
(PlannedParenthood 2017) . Many schools have distributed condoms to promote safe sex in teens.
About 431 public high schools in the United States distribute condoms. Although this seems like a
great idea, condoms should not be distributed in high schools because many teens are misinformed of
the procedures of using condoms, condoms are being used less by teens, and it could affect the social,
emotional and lifestyle of teenagers.
Condoms should not be distributed in high schools because teens are not well informed about the
usage and proper procedures of using a condom. Many people have been misinformed that condoms
prevent pregnancy one hundred percent of the time. However, that is not quite true. Condoms are not
100 percent effective, they usually tend break during sexual intercourse causing a higher risk of your
partner becoming pregnant. Teens are not well informed about this fact and are often surprised to find
out later after the accident happens. Also, teens are not taught

Transition From A Student Nurse Essay
Transition from Student to Nurse A number of emotions were felt during this experience, in regards to
transitioning from a student nurse to the registered nurse role. Primarily, the transition in role from
student nurse to registered nurse was similar to any clinical experience I have had at Midlands
Technical College. I was placed in a medical surgical rotation. I felt slighted that not only were we
required to complete a data tool but we also participated in the teamwork model demonstrated in prior
semesters. Personally, I did not feel a transition during this particular clinical experience. My Clinical
Experience What did I like about the experience? I did like that my clinical instructor challenged me.
Her expectations were very high for each student. I respected that she was serious about her role as a
nursing instructor. She often tells us that she knows what will be awaiting us as new graduate nurses
and she wants us to succeed. I work diligently to ensure that I will be successful. Feeling
Uncomfortable The uncomfortable part about this rotation was mostly working with the elderly adult
population. I felt cheated, again. The first time I earned a degree I expressed interest in working with
mothers and babies and I did not have the opportunity to do so. That same thing happened again in
this program. I found myself counting down the days until clinical was over. I do not feel that
activities of daily living, although important, should be the primary focus of

Analysis Of The Duel In Founding Brothers
Joseph J Ellis included The Duel in his book, Founding Brothers to show the extreme complexity
behind the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This duel is normally
represented in a short few lines that includes the date, the location, the outcome, and little details
about the fashion in which they dueled. Although these representations are short and concise, they do
not give the duel the justice it deserves. Ellis model does so by adding a lot more detail to help the
audience understand it was more than a short and random interaction. Ellis explains how in order to
understand the duel, one must examine the many and intricate causes of it, rather than what actually
happened in those few seconds on top of the cliff in Weehawken, New Jersey. Ellis record of the most
famous duel in American History can be used as a historical reference for the songs Your Obedient
Servant and The World Was Wide Enough that are a part of the Hamilton soundtrack. One thing that
was made sure after reading this book and listening to this song is that Lin Manuel Miranda did his
research and made the songs in his soundtrack as historically accurate as possible. Your Obedient
Servant is the song in the musical that reference the letters Hamilton and Burr wrote back and forth
leading up to the duel. These letters speaks about their many interactions in which one of them won
over the other. Hamilton did many things in order to keep Burr away from gaining powerful positions

Characteristics Of The Sanguine
The word sanguine is originated from old French Sanguine, from Latin Sanguineus meaning of blood
or bloody and Sanguis meaning blood . According to the medieval physiology, the sanguine
characters, like cheerfulness, optimism, hopefulness etc are reflection of excess of blood as one of the
four body humors. Sanguine describes the personality of an individual with the temperament related to
blood, the spring weather (wet and hot), and the element of air. The sanguine individual suddenly gets
excited by whatever affects him with immediate reaction, but it is not too deep and the impression
doesn t last long. Some chief characteristics of the Sanguine Temperament are, Diplomatic While
talking, the sanguines usually use very pleasing words; they speak in a way that avoids offending
others. This character makes them much friendly and pleasing to talk with. Still, at times they may
hurt the feeling of others through their direct and frank words i.e. something bitter truth . But, actually
they do not intend to offend; rather it is due to their open hearted nature. Enthusiastic Sanguines are

Volunteer Spirit Research Paper
The volunteer spirit, in essence, is a feeling of pride that I have for having the opportunity to attend
the University of Tennessee. It means embracing the traditions, the history, and especially the color
orange. The volunteer spirit is the pride that you see at every football game in all the students, alumni,
and other fans that are yelling Rocky Top as loud as they can. It is the sense of wonder you can see in
the students expanding their horizons and working to learn so that they can make their mark on the
world and improve it. The volunteer spirit is something that is different for everyone. It is a different
experience for every student; however, it stems from one thing, a love for the University of Tennessee.

I can use the knowledge that I gain at Tennessee to build a life for myself and hopefully, I can impact
the world. This is not an easy task; however, I believe that the University of Tennessee has the
resources and professors that will allow me to accomplish this. I plan to completely accept the spirit of
the campus when I arrive and to branch out so that I can become a well rounded person and so that I
can expand my knowledge as much as possible. In the end, I think that the volunteer spirit boils down
to the love and pride that I, and many others, have for UT. It is this love that causes us to cheer for it
no matter what, and even to wear orange despite it not matching with anything. It is a desire to have
the full experience while attending the University and learning all you can from it. It is making the

Denny s Diner is an unlikely company to market to Millennials. The twenty four hour diner that

only are millennials green and healthy, they are increasingly tach savvy. Recently, social media and

While Celiac s Disease is undoubtedly a real condition, the gluten free diet is a current fad.
Particularly in large, urban areas, the gluten free has sparked an outpouring of social media posts. By
picking up on the popularity of the gluten free diet, Denny s implies that even if someone is on the
diet, he or she can still eat there. As a cheap, quick diner, the average consumer would not assume that
Denny s has many gluten free options. However, by portraying this information through a humorous
response, Denny s proves that it is a restaurant where trendy, health conscious people can eat. But
beyond that, by responding to such an obscure question from a blogger and using a question about a
girlfriend to advertise their gluten free options, Denny s subtly hints at how ridiculous they think the
gluten free fad is. With millennials obsessed with the free from movement, such as food free from
gluten, soy, and dairy, Denny s has to point out that while gf typically means girlfriend in short hand,
it now means gluten free to trendy millennials (Carr, Stop the Free From Fad ). Through this post,
Denny s demonstrates how ridiculous it is that gf refers to gluten free instead of girlfriend. Ultimately,
this post allows Denny s to relate

Tennessee Wildfires
According to Mark Twain, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, two local teenagers have
been charged with aggravated arson in an ongoing investigation into last week s East Tennessee
wildfires that spread into Gatlinburg, killed 14 people and injured over 150 others. The fires, which
were first recorded in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Nov. 23rd, spread over 15,000
acres and 2,000 structures, burning down single family homes, Churches and other edifices in its wake
as it strode through Sevier County, destroying two of the country s most tourist heavy towns and an
amusement park. The rapid growth and ferocity of the fires, attributed to the drought in the area at the
time, exceeded 80 miles per hour. In a statement, Greg Miller, Gatlinburg Fire Chief, described the fire

authorities also credited the participation of the public in relief efforts and the provision of
information. According to multiple reports, the areas deemed safe in the city should be open to the

based farm inputs, high value bio ingredients, high value food varieties, biosimilars, drug discovery

regenerative medicine. Within these 10 EPPs, 20 private sector driven Trigger Projects constitute the
initial tranche of ventures launched.
In addition to these significant economic impacts, the BTP is also geared to benefit society and the
nation by improving individual incomes especially those of rural communities, through projects and
programmes with high inclusiveness factors. This can be achieved through the implementation of
Trigger Projects involving contract farming mechanisms. From this statement we can see that the
multiplier and ripple effects of the bioeconomy can be seen.
The BTP also advocates the promotion of a green economy, which in turn contributes to a long term
sustainable economy and environment. BioIndustrial Trigger Projects such as energy crop plantations,
the production of renewable biomaterials and bio based chemicals, and production of compressed
biomethane gas are expected to contribute to Malaysia s 2020 target of reducing its carbon footprint
and emissions by 40%.
The BTP also aims to improve the nation s health and well being. Biosimilars (as opposed to innovator

Antigone, by Sophocles
The death of Antigone is truly a tragic episode in the Theban Plays, where she hung herself with a
woven linen of her dress. By convention, her death would be characterized with feminine quality.
However, Antigone, one of the few female characters in the book, possessed distinguishable female
characteristics that are as remarkable as a male hero. Antigone was determined when she made up her
mind to bury her brother. She was an agent of her words and took up the risks that accompanied to her
deeds. Antigone was very passionate from the beginning to her death and she displayed tremendous
courage when facing the death penalty. Moreover, Antigone, as a female individual, confronted

Antigone was an agent of her own beliefs and she never hesitated to fulfill her obligation. When at last
it stopped,/There was the girl, screaming like an angry bird,/When it finds its nest left empty and little
ones gone. (Sophocles 137). Sophocles used a maternal image to describe how Antigone conducted
the ritual of burial. Antigone was compared to a mother bird as she found out her babies were gone.
This intense and explosive anger characterized the mental state of Antigone when she was burying her
brother. Unlike a male who would seek for revenge, Antigone, as a female character, screamed and
cursed to defend her beliefs and to protest her respect to the death. Though Antigone s physical
strength was small, her moral strength, in regard to how the living should respect the dead, was
powerful. This moral strength, accompanied by her action, demonstrated Sohpocles perspective that
women can make life happens despite they lack the physical strength of men.
Antigone was courageous because she knew the penalty for disobeying the order and the forthcoming
death. And if I die for it, what happiness! (Sophocles 128). Antigone showed tremendous courage
when facing the death penalty. She knew that the enforcement of divine law is honorable and the state
law cannot overrun the divine principle. The command from Creon decreed that Polynices, as a traitor
of the state, cannot be buried because of his treacherous action. However, the law of heaven

account that Australia s population has increased by almost 5 million in the last 20 years, this means
that the per capita gun ownership is still 23 per cent lower than it was in 1996 (Alpers, 2016). In a
survey by the author it was found that 90% of the respondents believe that the gun laws affected
Australia positively, the rest said they haven t affected Australia. It was surprisingly found that no one
said the gun laws had a negative effect on Australia, this could be due to the lack of respondents as
some citizens believe the gun laws have effected Australia negatively, because they believe individuals

  • 2. The Effect Of Jazz s Effect On American Culture In this essay I will be discussing the effect that jazz had on American culture from the time of its birth up until 1960. I will begin my essay by discussing how American culture and American music was before jazz came about. Before Jazz came about the music and ways of American culture was much different. I will then discus the birth of jazz and how it all began. Jazz had a major effect on the American culture which I will be demonstrating in my essay. Jazz developed and spread throughout the years, and I will be explaining what effect this had on American culture. The second decade of the 20th century was a decade full of dramatic changes for American culture. Some changes included the fact that the automobile was a way of life and that ... Slavery was long abolished by the time of jazz but the racism still remained. As Jazz music was associated strongly with African Americans this made it hard for extremely talented African American musicians to make it in the music industry. . Edward Ellington was another major influential character in the development of swing music at this time. Ellington was an incredible pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader of jazz orchestras. Ellington was a band leader for a very successful and loyal band. Unfortunately his race came in the way of his recognition as an incredible composer when his radio appearance was cancelled because advertisers did not want to be linked to a black ... • 3. The Issue Of School Finance School finance has been a contentious issue around the country due to the amount of money that is required to provide a public education to all children. Exacerbating the issue is the fact that there is no uniformity across each state because the federal government does not have any clause within the U.S. Constitution that requires a funding of public education. Providing education is simply relegated to each state under the 10th amendment (Russo, 2016). Ohio State Constitution Article VI: The General Assembly shall make such provisions, by taxation, or otherwise, as, with the income arising from the school trust fund, will secure a thorough and efficient system of common schools throughout the state; but no religious or other sect, or sects, shall ever have any exclusive right to, or control of, any part of the school funds of this state. This clause guarantees that common schools (public) will be supported by the state and local governments. What does efficient mean? Should every school district receive the same amount of money? The Supreme Court of Ohio heard a case in 1979 that challenged the adequacy of school funding (Russo, 2016). The Court ruled that funding was adequate but in 1994 Perry County Court Judge Linton Lewis, Jr., ruled that public education is a fundamental right in the state of Ohio and that the state legislature had to provide a better and more equitable means of financing education (DeRolph Vs. State of Ohio, 2001). This would eventually lead to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Justification: Paul tells us that we, as believers in Jesus Christ, are justified by our faith in Christ; and that we have been justified by the blood of Jesus. In Macmillan Bible Dictionary, justification is defined as, basically a legal concept, and refers to a person s status in a court of law rather than to their moral character. The New Interpreter s Dictionary of the Bible describes justification as to being set right, to being vindicated by a judge, to having a debt removed, or to having a right relationship restored or granted. • 5. Lady Macbeth Freudian Analysis Essay Freudian Analysis of Lady Macbeth Lady Macbeth from Shakespeare s Macbeth transitioned from a nearly sociopathic and manipulative individual to a woman totally consumed with guilt. This seems to happen quickly when the book is first read. In order to further understand her deterioration one can compare Lady Macbeth s radical change to Freud s theory of the id, ego, and superego. When Lady Macbeth is first introduced she becomes a very id centered individual; she wants to be rid of her superego. After King Duncan is killed there is an immediate shift in her tone, her superego begins to creep back into control and her ego takes over. By the time Lady Macbeth dies she has become completely controlled by her superego; she s ashamed and guilty of her actions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Upon hearing of the weird sisters prophecy Lady Macbeth yelled: Come, you spirits That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top full Of direst cruelty (Macbeth 1.5 39 42). In this sentence, Lady Macbeth pleaded with the spirits to be filled with the direst cruelty. This small statement tells us a great deal about who lady Macbeth was before reading the letter and who the letter turned her into. Lady Macbeth needed to be filled with with cruelty meaning that she didn t start out this way. From this it can be concluded that Lady Macbeth became heavily id centric only after reading the letter. To put this into a Freudian point of view before Lady Macbeth read the letter she mainly listened to either her ego or superego, however after reading the letter she only listened to her id. From this it can be concluded that Lady Macbeth ceremoniously attempted to kill her superego in this moment by refusing to listen to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Similarities Between Islam And Christianity With regards to the religions of Islam and Christianity, it is imperative to recognize that these two practices account for some of the largest followings in the history of modern civilization. With that being said, the links between Islam and Christianity can be astoundingly similar whilst also offering key characteristics of difference. Although both emphasize certain ideals in differing contexts, I d argue that it would be reprehensible not to recognize the power the devout followers of both practices receive upon praying to their God from above. Islam is a Abrahamic monotheistic religion dating back to 610 CE Saudi Arabia, when the last and final prophet Muhammad retrieved to a cave to pray and received revelations from God or ( Allah Arabic word for God) through an angel by the name of Gabriel. These said revelations would later be known as the beginning of the holy book the Quran . This event took place on Mount Jabal An Nour, in a cave by the name of Hira. Tam Lin Relationship Analysis From Blackstock to Nowhere: Relationships and Power Dynamics in Two Retellings of the Ballad of Tam Lin The Scottish folk ballad Tam Lin is a very popular ballad which has inspired many contemporary writers and artists to create their own retellings and reinterpretations. Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones and Tam Lin by Pamela Dean are two of these retellings. In these novels, Jones and Dean have masterfully brought the events and characters of the traditional ballad into the modern world. Although both novels have drawn from the same source there are a number of distinct differences between the two, especially when it comes to the relationship between their Janet and Tam Lin characters (Polly Whittacker and Tom Lynn in Fire and Hemlock, and Janet Carter and Thomas Lane in Tam Lin), and the balance of power between them throughout the narrative. While Jones novel is very much centered around the idea of Tam Lin being one of the rare few folk ballads or tales with a female hero and is structured as such to give Polly a position of power and equality in the relationship by the end, Dean seems to approach her retelling of the ballad from a different direction, questioning whether Janet really is as empowered by her role as the hero as it may seem at first. In both novels, the first meeting between the Janet and Tam Lin characters sets a strong base for their initial relationship, especially regarding the power dynamics within that relationship. The awkwardly titled so as to unite and Strengthening America Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001 (USA PATRIOT Act, or USAPA) presented a plenty of administrative changes which altogether expanded the reconnaissance and investigative forces of law authorization organizations in the United States. The Act did not, in any case, accommodate the arrangement of balanced governance that generally protects common freedoms despite such enactment. Authoritative recommendations in light of the terrorist assaults of September 11, 2001 were presented not exactly a week after the assaults. President Bush marked the last bill, the USA PATRIOT Act, into law on October 26, 2001. Despite the fact that the Act made critical corrections to more than 15 imperative statutes, it was presented with awesome flurry and went with little verbal confrontation, and without a House, Senate, or meeting report. Therefore, it needs foundation authoritative history that regularly reflectively gives important statutory understanding. The Act was a trade off form of the Anti Terrorism Act of 2001 (ATA), an expansive authoritative bundle planned to fortify the country s protection against terrorism. The ATA contained a few procurements incomprehensibly growing the power of law authorization and knowledge organizations to screen private ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. How Technological Warfare Could Not Be Considered The... Technological warfare might not be considered the fairest of them all, especially not in this era of warfare advances. Multiple technological advances have been made, and many of them have been made for the purpose of war. A very common technological advance in relation to war is guns, but there is no gun like the CIA s (Central Intelligence Agency) 1970 s Heart Attack Gun. According to Kurt Nimmo of Info Wars, at the point when the heart assault firearm is shot at an individual, the fatal poison from the bullet rapidly enters the circulatory system causing a myocardial infarction. The toxic substance denatures rapidly, so a post mortem is unable to determine the cause of the cardiac arrest. The dart from this complex CIA weapon can penetrate garments and leave only a small red spot on the skin, like that of a mosquito bite. The toxic dart disintegrates to its aggregate in the wake of entering the target. We all know what the purpose of a firearm is, even on the battlefield, but imagine being able to play war off of the battlefield and without arising suspicion. Imagine taking out your enemy without having to be held accountable for it. Well those are the implications of a gun with this much power. Now, moving forward to yet another military rate weapon advancement in technological warfare. Shoshana Davis of CBS News introduces a new soldier, ATLAS, a robot which was created by Boston Dynamics for DARPA, or the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. This humanoid weighs ... • 23. The Genre Of Victire In William Wordsworth s Peter Bell In recent years, William Wordsworth s Peter Bell has become the subject of much critical discussion. In an article entitled, J. H. Reynolds Re Echoes the Wordsworthian Reputation: Peter Bell, Remaking the Work and Mocking the Man, Brian Bates focuses on subsequent parodies of Peter Bell in order to expose how the parodies mock Wordsworth s use of genre, poetic diction, and subject matter. Despite this harsh criticism, Bates suggests that the parodies renew our perspective and distance us from the first reading of Wordsworth s Peter Bell. This distance prohibits the reader from fully conceptualizing the significance of Peter Bell and undermines Wordsworth s abilities as a writer. John Hamilton Reynolds parody entitled Peter Bell: A Lyrical Ballad was the catalyst for all of the subsequent parodies that were written about Peter Bell. Reynolds satirizes the main character Peter Bell, but he also predicts the ruin of Wordsworth by suggesting that this work leads to his demise. The parody ultimately serves as a distortion of Wordsworth s qualms with morality, which he conveys through Peter Bell s journey of self discovery. William Wordsworth dramatizes real life situations by using aspects of the gothic genre in order to portray the topic of repentance. In this paper, I will examine William Wordsworth s thematic concerns with death in Peter Bell in order to observe the extent to which the gothic mode of writing structures the concept of repentance and the ways ... • 29. Analysis Of The Duel In Founding Brothers Joseph J Ellis included The Duel in his book, Founding Brothers to show the extreme complexity behind the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This duel is normally represented in a short few lines that includes the date, the location, the outcome, and little details about the fashion in which they dueled. Although these representations are short and concise, they do not give the duel the justice it deserves. Ellis model does so by adding a lot more detail to help the audience understand it was more than a short and random interaction. Ellis explains how in order to understand the duel, one must examine the many and intricate causes of it, rather than what actually happened in those few seconds on top of the cliff in Weehawken, New Jersey. Ellis record of the most famous duel in American History can be used as a historical reference for the songs Your Obedient Servant and The World Was Wide Enough that are a part of the Hamilton soundtrack. One thing that was made sure after reading this book and listening to this song is that Lin Manuel Miranda did his research and made the songs in his soundtrack as historically accurate as possible. Bohr was called upon by a fellow colleague named Ernest Rutherford, to help him solve some problems with the Rutherford Planetary Model of the atom. Bohr quickly took the position to help and new that the problem had something to do with the discharge of hydrogen within an atom. After solving this problem and coming up with his own law and model of the atom. This advancement changed physics forever. Bohr s model was made up of four ideas. 1) Electrons assume only certain orbits around the nucleus. These orbits are stable and called stationary orbits. 2) Each orbit has an energy associated with it. For example the orbit closest to the nucleus has an energy E1, the next closest E2 and so ...
