Rhetorical Devices In V For Vendetta
Michelle Azzata Sabrina Ladd English 101 March 8, 2015 V for Vengeance Through his graphic
novel, V for Vendetta, Alan Moore raises thought on how powerful dissent is, freedom, and most
of all the desire for revenge. Vengeance, the strive for freedom, and opposition were not only
apparent themes throughout, but drove all of the action for the main character, V. We learn while
reading this graphic novel the rationale condoning of violence for both personal and societal
revenge and freedom. Using the symbol V as both a letter and the number 5, this narrative,V for
Vendetta, uses rhetorical means to reflect on London in the late 20th century by displaying V s role
as a freedom fighting terrorist and an avenging hero. In the novel, V most certainly makes clear his
disunity with the government. The most important symbol in relation to this theme is his mask...

V was being tortured and he was left for dead while he was in cell five, post survival he decided
to seek revenge on the people who victimized him at an earlier time. All of his abusers now hold
power in the government and V takes it upon himself to expose and fix the governmental structure
as it is corrupt. V was against the totalitarian government and was eager to ruin it. He found it
unjust that people in control were able to lie to the citizens, force them to play by their rules
essentially, and have ultimate control in running the society. Through his tactics of revenge, V
wanted the people of England to exercise their free thought and understand that what their

Massachusetts Bay Colonies Research Paper
One of the main reasons English citizens moved to America was the prospect of freedom from
from religious persecution. Many colonies were founded solely to be a safe haven for religious
minorities. For instance, Massachusetts was founded by a segment of extreme Puritans called, in
hopes of practice their religionwithout being harassed. The Separatists believed the Church of
Englandmaintained too many similarities with the Catholic Church, and it was their job, as saints,
to purify it. Their religious beliefs angered many people, especially King James, who was the head
of the Church of England at that time. A large group of the Separatists settled in Massachusetts,
hoping to practice their religious beliefs without harassment. The Massachusetts Bay Puritans
created a very particular society which incorporated their cherished beliefs into the foundation...

For instance, the Puritans, who ironically were the religious minority in their own colony, were
the only ones allowed to run public affairs. Only two fifths of the population was actually
Puritan, as the other percentage of the population moved for access to the fertile West Indies.
Although the rules system set up by the colonists was one of the earliest instances of some sort
of government run by the people, the Bay colony was far from a democracy, due to the exclusive
nature of the elections. Another example of the effect religion had on the Bay colony government
was evident through the fact that certain powers were denied to Even though said leaders had
control over who was granted attendance to church, or those who were deemed to be damned ,
religious leaders were unable to hold a position in the government. Since religious leaders and
government officials in the Bay colony both held similar measures of power, this natural system of
balances was instated to prevent either religious or political leaders from becoming too

Development Of A Nation s Development
By definition development means the act or process of developing; growth; or progression . The
world s nation states are commonly categorized based on their state of development; nations who
have reached the end state, that being developed, are colloquially termed as developed nations or
first world nations . In contrast, nations working towards this end state are referred to as developing
nations or third world nations . However obvious or apparent these designations may seem, the
constituents affecting the status of a respective nation s developmentis quite convoluted. What
qualifications do developed nations hold over developing nations; what does it mean exactly to be
developed or developing. The process of development is dynamic, and so is the system by which
nations received their designation. A series of indicators, institutions and measures are used to
assess the state of a nation s development; historically, these indicators have varied throughout time
and space.
Development theory has been largely presupposed to the fact that the only institutions of
importance were those directly expediting market activity. Directly following World War II, the
health of a nation was predominately based off its gross domestic product (GDP). This view of
the market as the magic bullet dominated the social construct of development; however, this
paradigm began to shift come the late 1980s/early 1990s. This archaic way of thinking has now
expanded to explore new theories of

A Comparison Of Superman And Wonder Woman
I am enjoying this discussion about Wonder Woman, even though I am not a huge fan of DC
Comics or superhero films. However, I love Superman and Wonder Woman films and television
series from the 80 s. Remember the Superman movies starring Christopher Reeves and the
Wonder Woman television series from the 80s (I grew up in the 80s)? Since we are speaking
about films based on classic childhood favorites, I have another example to add: Goonies. A
group of five boys (the Goonies) live in a town scheduled for demolition but this clique refuses to
give up without a fight. When these Goonies discover One eyed Willie s hidden treasure map they
depart from their normal life to hunt his treasure in hopes of being able to save their parent s
homes. Now,

Ki Teitzei Research Paper
Hello and Thank you for coming to my bar mitzvah it means a lot that you are all here. I will be
talking about my torah portion Ki Teitzei which is about the commandments that Moses was
giving at the end of his life. The commandments covered many different topics from cheating to
inheritance. One thing that stood out to me in my torah portion was the commandment about
dealing with difficult children. In the torah it says that if a family has a wayward and defiant
son who is bad even after being disciplined. The parents together must take their son to the town s
elders, and say This son of ours is disloyal and defiant; he does not heed us. He is a glutton and a
drunkard. Then if all of this happens the council will stone the son to death as to sweep the evil out
of Israel. Finding this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why would God want to hurt us? Why would God want parents to kill their own children? It says
in the Mishnah, that if you kill one person, it is as if you are destroying the entire world, and if
you save one person, you are saving the entire world. So commanding parents and communities
to kill their rebellious children is like asking them to destroy the entire world. The rabbis who
wrote the Mishnah, also did not like this commandment. As they explained the details, they made
it very specific, so that it could never actually happen. First they restrict it by age: it only applies
from a person s 13th birthday, until three months after that. So for me, I have two more days until
I am safe from being stoned for being a stubborn and rebellious son. Then they restrict it so that it
only applies to sons, and not daughters. They explain the Torah to mean that the son has to eat
meat and wine, no other food or drink counts. They measure out an outrageous amount of meat and
wine he has to eat and drink to be deemed a glutton and a drunkard. I think that it is wrong to cover

Illiteracy And Poverty In America
I.Introduction: There is a strong correlation between student illiteracy and poverty. 25% of children
in America never learn how to read. Children who grow up in poverty stricken areas have extremely
limited exposure to reading materials. In addition, children living in poverty experience challenges
in obtaining nutritional food and tend to live in an unsafe environment, which can affect
educational advancement. According to the Heart of America foundation, 61 percent of families
living in povertydo not have children s books in their homes. Consequently, children living in
poverty already have a 50 percent weaker vocabulary than their wealthier peers at the start of
school (Hart). Along with the lack of readingmaterials, lacking proper... Show more content on

Taking children on field trips to their nearby library to teach them about the system is very
important. They can later get their personal library card and return to rent out a book they wish to
read. This is a way to promote out of school reading.
III.Conclusion: Maximizing student illiteracy in Miami Dade County comes down to three
critical factors. First, providing students with more books at school. Secondly, giving students
the knowledge and opportunity to read at home. And lastly, giving the teachers the proper
background on the students they will be teaching so that the academics are approached
accordingly. By meticulously approaching each of these areas, Miami Dade County will be able
to significantly increase student literacy in poverty stricken schools. Ernestine Walls Benedict
said, Reading empowers children by providing a virtual passport to explore the world. They can
learn about places, people and things very different from their own experiences, as well as see
themselves reflected in other children s lives. Being able to read is not only important but it is
critical for a person to succeed

The 1920s was a very eventful time period for the US crime scene. With the emergences of major
crime bosses like Al Capone, Meyer Lansky, Charles Luciano, and others there was much to be
done in the crime world. Charles Lucky Luciano (born as Salvatore Lucania) would become a key
player in the reshaping and modernization of the mafia and the crime world. Young Luciano would
show signs of pursuing a criminal career. His parents and family however disapproved of their
son s action and career path and essentially exiled him, respecting his family s wishes he would
later change his name from Salvatore Lucania to Charles Luciano. He also by the age of 10 he
involved extortion, and thievery. Upon his arrest for the distribution of drugs in 1915, the police
would offered to release him if he would tell them what he knew about the mob, Luciano however
refused to talk due to the Sicilian code of silence, this action would vastly considered pivotal in fast

He would later leave the Five Points gang (soon afterwards the gang would crumple after key
players such as Al Capone and Lucky Luciano left the gang). He would join crime boss Joe
Masseria as his chief lieutenant and oversee Masseria s crime empire. By doing this Luciano
would learn the internals of the crime world and how operations worked. He also profited greatly
from the operations and would soon become a rich man, he was also running Manhattan s sole
prostitution ring using execution as a manor to keep things under control Along this time he
would also be abducted, beaten, stabbed repeatedly with an ice pick, had his throat slit from ear to

Non-Christian World View Definition
In today s society, young people are constantly being exposed to worldly influences through
children s media, including television, websites, video games, and movies. Topics such as gay
marriage, evolution, and abortion are presented to kids as facts or the cultural norm. Children are
naГЇve and young, and their hearts should be guarded from these secular ideas. The Biblical view
of the family is slowly being diminished, evolution is being taught as scientific fact, and many
children s media celebrities are openly showing support for their non Christian beliefs. Secularist,

First of all, the idea of evolution completely refutes the creation story in Genesis. As to the
concepts of homosexuality and unmarried couples living together, the Bible clearly describes
how both of these are sinful. In Leviticus 20:13, to be gay or lesbian was considered an
abomination. In Hebrews 13:4, it is asserted that marriage is something that should be honored,
and God will judge the sexually immoral. Rowan Blanchard s arguments for abortion, gay rights,
and Planned Parenthood although they sound convincing on social media are very much opposed
to Christian beliefs. Abortion is taking the life of an innocent child who was specially formed by
God. In Jeremiah 1:5, it says Before I formed you in the womb I knew

Religions of the World
Since the creation of The Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints, there have been many
controversies concerning the similarities and differences between Mormonism and Catholicism,
Christianity and Protestantism. Other than the obvious, that Catholicism, Christianity and
Protestantism believe that there are no more prophets, and Mormons believe that there are still
prophets walking the earth today, differences between the faiths range in varying ways. The Church
s founder, Joseph Smith, was born a Protestant and put his beliefs into the foundations of
Mormonism. Other than this, the faiths are very different. Mormonism differs from other faiths in

Another uniqueness that brings blessing and relief to many mormons is the idea that practically
no one is forever damned to hell and that all people who have ever existed will share in heavenly

where evil doers, criminals and liars reside. Their sins have been forgiven and now live in the
eternal presence of the Holy Ghost. The middle heaven, The Terrestrial Kingdom, is where good

presence of Jesus Christ. Finally, the top heaven, The Celestial Kingdom, is reserved for
completely devout Mormons. These people become gods and rulers of their own universes. Being
at this level also allows men to keep their families with them. (Distinctive Beliefs of the Mormon

Another brief differences between Christianity and Mormonism are their beliefs in God, Jesus

Teamwork and collaboration with other healthcare providers is very important. To function
effectively there needs to be mutual respect, open communication, and shared decision making in
the best interest of the patient. As a member of a team it is vital to know ones own strengths and
limitations, this way patients receive the best care. Evidence based practice is when recent research
is integrated into the clinical setting for maximum delivery of health care. A lot of evidence based
practice was developed from research studies conducted by nurses such as decubitis ulcer
prevention. Knowing and demonstrating the scientific methods and processes will help to advance
nursing care by providing better interventions for patient care. Patient care plans should be
developed based on evidence (Dycus, 2009). With monitoring outcomes from evidence based
practice it can be determined if the care caused improvement in the healthcare setting. Using quality
measures such as charts and diagrams to understand performance. If care provided to a patient is
not safe, than the intervention is ineffective and therefore not helping to improve that patient s
quality of life. To help provide a safe environment, observation and communication are extremely
important. Inform the patient and family of any interventions before proceeding with them to
insure the patient

today, there is an ever growing need for robotic manipulators. These needs cut across all areas of life
ranging from healthcare to automated assembly. In order to meet these various applications, there
is a need for custom designs and continuous improvement on existing designs to meet job
requirements and customer satisfaction. This report involves the design and simulation of a virtual
manipulator for manufacturing processes. The goal for this virtual manipulator is to allow quick
testing and implementation without having to build a physical robot. It saves time and cost, it also
helps the designer to see flaws in his design without wasting so much time and funds.

else would not , but is unsure of what he wouldn t do. He hints at how love changes and he hasn
t earned anything this person is giving him, to him love is a reward that rarely occurs. He says
that not having love is tiresome and lonesome, but amusing if you are important to yourself. He
exclaims that a dream of that kind of love is only made up in your mind. He questions if his
version of love is the real thing or just something he made up. He knows that love is sometimes
confused with lust and he fears the unsaid. He thinks that there s no need to say the unsaid
because he thinks about how taken he is by love. He explains that the feeling of love is some time
beyond place, or place beyond time, no mind left to say anything at all ( For Love ). His fears are

views are very strong and known of, so he felt it would protect him from right winged students.
Diego is a strong communist and puts this to play in a lot of his art. This painting got a lot of
positive feedback, for it covered multiple religions and had so much history behind it. This

Executive summary
This study examines the impact of three factors, namely Sales, Fixed assets and Interest paid on
the profitability of a logistics company. Econometric tool of multiple linear regression model was
used for analyzing the impact of above factors on profitability of a major logistics company GATI
Limited. Based on the financial data of last 10 years 2000 2009 the regression analysis has revealed
that profitability of GATI ltd. is significantly affected positively by increase in fixed assets and

Moreover, projects such as the Golden Quadrilateral program, National Maritime program, and
introduction of freight corridors in rails shall strengthen the growth. The current economic scenario,
which is largely impacted by the global slowdown however is expected to recover soon with the fall
in logistics costs due to the huge developments in infrastructure. With the rise in disposable
incomes, changing consumer preferences, fast emerging retail segments, infrastructure investment,
the Indian logistics sector and the 3PL markets are expected to witness explosive growth in the
successive years.
Constraints and Challenges
The biggest challenge faced by the organised logistics companies in India today, is competition
from the unorganized operators. This is coupled with increasing environmental pressures,
government regulations and subsidies for infrastructure development. Adding to all these, is the
lack of Industry status to the logistics sector.
Business Risks and Mitigation
The Year 2008 2009 for India was quite different from the expectations of industry stalwarts and
economy speculators. Increase in input materials costs, wages, interest and transportation forced
companies to cut costs. Logistic service providers therefore are required to be cost effective and
more efficient to compete in market place. High logistics and warehousing costs in India shows that

So many people were interested in this show because there were no shows like this one and people
were sad to see it go in the year 2000 as it announced its ending.
Secondly, the crew of the show also had a big impact on the American Society. One of the main
characters was Ben Savage who played as Cory a student going into 6th grade and growing up
and going to college ( Where are they now 7). Ben Savage was new and nobody heard about him
but he worked hard every day. He was only 6 when he started and became a key part of the show
and why people wanted to watch this. Many children watching may have also believed they
could go into the acting career even though they are young. A man named Ben savage was the
star of the show. He first started when he was 5 and kept going also the girl name Topanga started
at age 5 and starred in the show with Ben (Gonzales 4). Even though he started out young he
became a good actress and grew to become a better one. Topanga also worked hard every day so
she could become just as good as Ben. This was put into kids eyes as a way they could also become
an actress.
Thirdly many bad things happened before the era of the show. When a crazy killer was given 4

SUNY New Paltz Research Paper
Introduction My name is Sarah Braunlich. I grew up in a small town named Poland, NY and
attended a small high school in the same area. Growing up, I had always dreamed big and hoped
to see the world that I knew existed outside of my small rural town. That was how I knew I had
made the right choice when I decided to attend SUNY New Paltz. In my short time here, I have
seen new places, met so many unique individuals, and I am excited to spend the next four years
here. In high school, I always made an effort to get involved through clubs such as Government,
Peer Leaders, Drama Club, Tri M Music Club, Concert/Jazz Band etc. and I plan to do the same
here at New Paltz. Currently, I am a biology major because my passion lies in medicineand helping

Every situation and every person you come into contact with and meet has been socialized in a
certain way, and the root of this behavior lies in sociology. How we react to certain social
situations, how we interpret or read another person s actions, how we respond to other
individuals, are all dependent on sociology. From this course, I hope to better be able to
understand why people act and behave the way they do. I hope to learn more about significant
social issues that are widespread throughout the world today and about social forces to help bring
about change. On a deeper level, I want to understand why sociology is that window to being able
to think on a different level, and the key to understanding those underlying human connections
/behavior. For example, why is there a mental health stigma? Why do stereotypes exist? Where do
social norms and social constructs stem from? Why does society breed the type of mentality where
photoshop and runway models are the standards of beauty? All of the answers to these questions lie
in sociological theories and concepts. I also hope that this course can help me to understand other
social problems, such as racism, crime, poverty, violence, sexism, and how to contribute to their
solutions. I am eager to learn more about sociology throughout the semester, and build upon/expand

Violation Of Social Norms In The Classroom
According to National Post Ben Fields, a school resource officer at Spring Valley High School
has been fired for using unnecessary force to remove a student from the classroom. Videos taken
by the students in the classroom show Deputy Fields asking the student to leave; upon refusal, the
officer is seen wrapping his forearm around the student s neck and flipping her while she was still
sitting in her desk. The female student is then dragged, tossed across the room and finally
handcuffed while students watch. According to students, the female student was on her cell phone
in class. After a teacher and administrator were unable to get the student to hand over her cell
phone or leave the classroom, Fields was called. A classmate quoted the female... Show more

The actions of Fields can be seen as a violation of a social norm. It is abnormal for a police officer
to use excessive force on a student who is posing no immediate threat, especially on a young
student. County Sheriff Lott has stated the forced used on the student was not part of training or
normal protocol ( It just makes you sick , 2015). The concept of social norm and subjective
construal can be seen. Construal is the way an individual views, understands, and interprets the
social world to be. In subjective construal, although the situation is the same, there are opposing
views on the way the people involved view, understand, and interpret the situation (Droogendyk,
2015). According to Antrobus, Bradford, Murphy, and Sargeant (2015) obeying the police is
strongly associated with an individuals own feelings about obeying the police and their ties to the
community. An individual who does not feel a strong tie to the community, in this case the school
environment, would feel fewer obligations to obey. In the article, the female student made it clear
that she will not hand over her cell phone or leave the classroom because she did not do anything
wrong. However, according to the teacher and administrator the student did and therefore needed to
be removed. Fields shared this view and seemed to think not only should the student be removed but
also force was necessary. The different opposing views demonstrate subject construal and how both
parties think they are

Relationship Between Henson And Peary
Matthew Henson and Robert Peary had a strong relationship. They both had a need for
exploration, fame, and danger, and Henson s need is one of the reasons he started traveling with
Peary. The two men met when Henson was working at a clothing and hat store, when Peary
walked in and offered him a job. This job was to be his personal servant while he was on an
expedition in Nicaragua. Peary was going to head an engineering team to see about the possibility
of digging a canal across Nicaragua. Henson later wrote that he saw qualities in Peary that made
him want to participate in his services. After that expedition, Peary approached Henson with an
idea. He wanted to raise money to go to the arctic and wanted Henson to go with him. On their

Analysis Of Enkidu s The Epic
Enkidu s role in the epic explores the idea that humans cultivation of the earth to suit their own
needs will lead to their demise. Enkidu was depicted as androgynous to allow the reader to see
themselves in the journey and allows the narrator more flexibility. Enkidu was described as lush
with head hair like a woman . Gilgamesh recounted a dream to his mother saying, I fell in love
with it like a woman I caressed it . The use of the word it can imply gender is disregarded and
allows the narrator the ability to play with the idea of it being a woman but still leaving room for
the masculine interpretation. In contrast Enkiduwas also described as a strong, fearless and great
warrior. He was said to have the strength of heaven, and mighty will be his strength he was also
said to be valiant in the steppe which signifies that he is fearless in the wild, and he would have
the force of the hero Ninurta, god of war. Enkidu s character is androgynous and his journey
symbolizes that of man s. The story of Enkidu is similar to the creation myth of the Bible.

Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Guidelines for the investigation of computer crime.
Abstract
In this essay I will be talking about the key guidelines when it comes to investigating computer
related crimes, such as what kind of the sections and sub sections the offence falls under when
regarding the law . I will also analyse the principle that will apply when dealing with the collection
data using the digital forensic unit to analyse the data, more so how this is used to make accurate
judgment on why the data was in this location and what its purpose or intended use was.
Furthermore I will address what kind the authority the ACPO are granted, and further dissect the
responsibilities the chief commissioner has. Lastly I will be addressing one the biggest computer
related crimes which Cyber Crime and how ACPO created a method for dealing with such crimes,
such as dividing the crime into two different categories of Cyber Crime, and how they differ from
one another.
Introduction
The ACPO has been established since the year of 1948 ,it was then fully implemented officially in
the England, wales and Northern Ireland. The ACPO stands for the association of chief police

The Effectiveness of Mobile Computing Devices in Classroom...
The Effectiveness of Mobile Computing Devices in Classroom Instruction
Most schools, both local and international, are now venturing into using mobile computing devices
for classroom instruction. Thus, La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) pioneered the use of tablets in the
classrooms at the later part of 2012 and named this endeavor as the PERsonal Learning device
(PEARL) program. During its initial stage, students of the honors classes were selected as its
participants. On the following year around eight to nine sections in the High School level opted to
join the said program. However, during the course of the said program implementation, certain
issues have been raised that needed to be addressed by the school especially in the area of
student learning. Based on a study made by a group of LSGH High School teachers last February
2014 on the effectiveness of using tablets in Grade 10 English classes, it has been observed that
there is no distinct difference between the non tablet and tablet classes in terms of student
performance. This may be attributed to the following: 1). there is no definite strategic plan made
except for the roadmap on how the PEARL program will be implemented. 2). the infrastructure set
up was not carefully taken into consideration. 3). teachers have not been given enough training
prior to its implementation. 4). the policies and guidelines drafted on the students use of tablets
were vague or lacking in terms of giving sanctions to erring students.

Newborn Reflexes Research Paper
Newborn reflexes play an important role in the construction of the traction in the early stages of
development because they are the first well established driving structures from which an infant may
start to diversify themselves and create new schemes. Reflexive behavior is fixed; it does not allow
for voluntary control to achieve a goal. However, from three months on babies begin to establish the
first relationships between actions and feelings. They are very simple movements in appearance,
but require the implementation of neural connections; they are a fundamental first step.
Doctors consider reflexes routinely at birth. The absence of them virtually only occurs in the
context of serious diseases, which are generally detected in other ways. Newborns reflexes have

The Implications Of Alexander The Great s Conquests In Greece
Alexander III of Macedon, typically referred to as Alexander the Great was born in Pella, in July
356 BC, as the son of Phillip II and Queen Olympia. He was under the tutelage of Aristotle until
he attained the age of 16. Following Phillip s assassination in 336 BC, Alexander inherited his
father s throne as the king of the Ancient Greek monarchy of Macedon. Moreover, the military
training that he had received during his tender age prepared him both physically and
psychologically for the history he was to write. He inherited the realm of a mighty kingdom and
a vastly experienced army. Alexander utilized the armory to extend the geographical scope of
the Greek by conquering Persia, parts of India, Egypt, present day Syria, Assyria Babylon and
other parts of minor Asia. Therefore, this essay aims at explaining how Alexander the Great s
Conquest impacted the Greek people. Alexander the Great s Conquests and their Implications

The Black Panther Party
The Black Panthers
The Black Panther Party is a self defense, African American revolutionary party. This party was
founded in Oakland, California by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale during the 1960 s. This party
was dedicated to combating white oppression, and did so by the use of both peaceful and violent
actions. Looking back at the history of the Black Panthers, it can be clearly seen that the peaceful
idea of equality for all spawned this group and their violent actions for the main reason that they
were willing to do anything to defend their beliefs.
One of the greatest reasons for the violent actions of the party, should be credited to the co
founder named Huey Newton. Huey Newton was a rebellious individual who was suspected of
committing many crimes. As minister of defense within the party, Huey was seen as a leader to
the members of the organization. In an interview with Newton, he made clear what he wanted the
party to stand for, and what they needed to do to achieve this. In an excerpt from the interview
transcript, he says that there are two kinds of nationalism, revolutionary and reactionary
nationalism. Revolutionary nationalism is first dependent upon a People s revolution with the end
goal being the people in power... If you are a reactionary nationalist you are not a socialist and
your end goal is the oppression of the people. (Newton 1). From this transcript, it can be inferred
what kind of nationalism Huey wants the party to follow. He wants the people to gain power
through the use of violence And extremism. As the interview continues, Huey states the views of
the Black Panther Party by saying The Black Panther Party, which is a revolutionary group of
black people, realizes that we have an identity. We have to realize our black heritage in order to
give us strength to move on and progress (Newton 1). By saying this, Huey is announcing to the
world that the Black Panthers are going to cause a dramatic change, and implies that they will do
whatever is necessary as long as they have the strength. The cause for violence from peaceful ideas
is largely due to the leadership. The minister of Education George Murray made many speeches that
supported the violent actions, and encouraged them. Within

Diesel Powered Vehicles
Initial purchasing costs of gas over diesel powered vehicles is usually a large factor that consumers
take into account when purchasing a vehicle. Research has shown that on average, a diesel version
versus gasoline version of the same vehicle, is $5,045 more than the gasoline version. (Vincentric,
2012) Consumers buying on a budget have to take these factors into consideration, which generally
means that in more consumer oriented cars and SUVs, the gasolineversion sells much better than the
diesel. Common reasons for this is that usually consumers associate diesel engines with the loud,
smoke blowing pickup trucks that smoke out an entire intersection. So people in the market for a
vehicle that haven t done their homework on the diesel powered version are more than likely to
pick the gasoline version.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now while diesel prices have averaged 14 percent more per gallon than gasoline over that last
decade (Staff @ WorkTruckOnline, 2011), there is an equalizer in this whole situation. The
diesel s fuel economy advantage over the gasoline powered version actually balances out the cost
of the two fuels with each s relative fuel economy. A diesel vehicle emits more greenhouse gas
emissions when burnt than gasoline, but its higher energy content per gallon results in higher fuel
efficiency for the vehicle. So, as a result, the diesel can go further on a single gallon than a
gasoline truck, meaning it produces very similar greenhouse gas emissions as the gasoline
powered engine, while running nearly the same cost for fuel per mile as a gasoline powered

While Andy Jackson from Tears of a Tiger sand Rusty James from Rumble Fish both seem lonely,
they differ because Andy is pessimistic while Rusty James is dependent. In both books, the

traded from their Northern European homelands across wide areas of northern, central and eastern
Europe, during the 9th to 11th century. The Vikings originated from Scandinavia, and the
beginning of the Vikings expansion often originates from the raid of the Lindisfarne Monetary on
8 June 793. The Vikings were the first Westerners to sail to Iceland, Greenland, and over to the

The reason for the Vikings leaving their homelands and venturing off on trade missions, raids,
explorations, and new settlements is largely unknown, due to a lack of evidence (Vikings weren
t huge fans of writing down their day to day lives and history.) However, it can be speculated that
they left for a few reasons. The first of those reasons was to escape forced conversion to
Christianity by Charlemagne. The Vikings had their own unique religion which differed heavily
from Christianity. Add to this the fact that Christians don t have the best history with accepting
other beliefs, it is understandable that the Vikings may have feared Christian conversion and
sought to find new lands to escape. This fear of conversion was a large part of the Saxon wars
affecting Germanic peoples. It s worth noting the irony of the Vikings leaving their homeland in
fear of Christian conversion considering their leader Harald Bluetooth (935 985), who was the
King of Norway and Denmark, eventually converted the Vikings himself to Christianity. The
second reason for the Vikings suddenly migrating may be due to their beliefs in relation to
inheritance. Vikings gave their first sons all acquired land, this caused younger sons to venture off
on their own to gain their own property. Regardless of the reason, the Vikings ventured off in their
long ships to raid, pillage,

Parentese Parentese
It is always exciting for every parent to have babies. It means extra company, extra fun, and extra
love. The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly
born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this
language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged
as Parentese.
Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over
exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial
expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly
understand social cues.
Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition from little
babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent s bond with their
child.
Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers.
Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the
University of Wisconsin.
Saffran explained, We ve known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they
are addressing babies.
They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their pitch up and
down more often than when they are speaking to other adults.
Babies are a curious bunch, and will do whatever with the

this goes back to my direct definition (Wood 186), my mother was always open to other cultures,
understanding (Wood 172) and embraced them. I was taught not to be narrow minded, having
respect (Wood 172), and to have tolerance (Wood 171) toward other cultures. Another part of this
experience was the language this culture spoke. They had their own native language, but spoke
English. When they spoke English, they spoke it extremely fast and it wasn t the easiest to
understand. Their paralanguage (Wood 104) wasn t something I was used to either. The way I

Human Imagination Is A Powerful Force For Good Or Evil...
From our Creator s perspective, human imagination is a powerful force for good or evil purposes.
In His estimation, nothing that a united and ungodly people could imagine would be impossible to
them. This is why He created language barriers among the people at Babel. Before, everyone spoke
one language. However, they became too independently intelligent for their own good and turned
against their Creator; their minds were clouded with pride at the thought of reaching the heavens
with a mighty man made tower (Gen. 11).
Knowing the importance of human imagination, Jesus often presented life changing insight from
the Kingdom of Heaven in the form of similes. This made the Kingdom of Heaven easier to grasp.
The Holy Spirit used something familiar to the listeners, appealing to their imaginations, to reveal
important truths. For example, Matthew 13 states:
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed...
The Kingdom of Heaven is like unto leaven...
The Kingdom of Heaven like unto a net...
Listen to the psalmist:
The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork.
(2) Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night shows forth knowledge. (3) There is
no speech nor spoken word ; their voice is not heard. (4) Yet their voice goes out through all the
earth, their sayings to the end of the world. Of the heavens has God made a tent for the sun, (5)
which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; and it

A Nation for Change
No one person wakes in the morning and decides to tackle years of institutional rule without
thinking certain doom, discomfort, or in some cases, death. Citizens living during the times
within the United States (1775 1784) and Vietnam (1955 1975) decided to fight as one voice, for
a cause they believed and shared together. This unified voice, the will of the people, started as a
single voice. Soon there were many voices with the same cry, to push out policies, ideals, and laws
that were not their own. Peaceful talks, debates, or discussions did not work, soon there was no
other means but the violence to break the will to continue.
The revolutionary wars were the violent means to which tactics used, was used as a form of
warfare [that is] uniquely adapted to undermine the efforts of new and poor countries to maintain
the freedom that they have finally achieved . President Kennedy spoke those words in 1962, the
height of the Vietnam War, and reaffirms the will of the people to that of the American people
during its Revolutionary War; the will for independence prevailed during trying times of offensive
and defensive phases of war.

Definition
Generally, put, an innovation is developing a new idea and putting it into practice. As this article is
focused on the competitive strategy of a private enterprise in a market driven business environment,
the term innovation is used here to refer to the process of bringing valuable new products (goods

Renaissance Arranged Marriage
Arranged marriage in the Renaissance era was very popular among Florentine families. This was
the way of life for multiple different reasons. Arranged marriages were the way things were run in
order to bring two families together. The two families hopes were to gain an alliance and more
importantly gain wealth. Another objective was producing offspring more specifically boys that
could eventually inherit the familywealth and power. Although there were many positives with
arrange marriage, there were also a numerous amount of negatives with this lifestyle. Arranged
marriagewas a complicated business. The girls were usually anywhere from fourteen to
seventeen years of age with a difference of fifteen to twenty years to their husbands or even
greater if it were his second marriage. Girls were young because with they way society worked
they wanted the girls to be able to produce as many children as possible. The goal was to have the
young girl pregnant every other year until she was done ovulating. Although this seems like it
would end with an enormous amount of children that was not the case because many children did
not survive. On the other hand, men were older when married because society wanted them to have
a social network and wealth and such. With the wife being young and the... Show more content on

The first notorious one would be wealth. Of course, a rich family would want to marry their kin
to kin of other rich families, thus increasing their overall wealth. For example, the Medici family
was a well known family in Florence, but they wanted more wealth and more power. An arranged
marriage occurs between Cosimo I and the daughter of a Spanish king, Eleanora di Toledo.
Eleanora brings great wealth and nobility to this marriage allowing the Medici to once again gain
authority. This marriage brings wealth, but it also brings up the next positive of an arranged

Rhetorical Devices In V For Vendetta Michelle Azzata Sabrina Ladd English 101 March 8, 2015 V for Vengeance Through his graphic novel, V for Vendetta, Alan Moore raises thought on how powerful dissent is, freedom, and most of all the desire for revenge. Vengeance, the strive for freedom, and opposition were not only apparent themes throughout, but drove all of the action for the main character, V. We learn while reading this graphic novel the rationale condoning of violence for both personal and societal revenge and freedom. Using the symbol V as both a letter and the number 5, this narrative,V for Vendetta, uses rhetorical means to reflect on London in the late 20th century by displaying V s role as a freedom fighting terrorist and an avenging hero. • 4. Development Of A Nation s Development By definition development means the act or process of developing; growth; or progression . The world s nation states are commonly categorized based on their state of development; nations who have reached the end state, that being developed, are colloquially termed as developed nations or first world nations . In contrast, nations working towards this end state are referred to as developing nations or third world nations . However obvious or apparent these designations may seem, the constituents affecting the status of a respective nation s developmentis quite convoluted. What qualifications do developed nations hold over developing nations; what does it mean exactly to be developed or developing. The process of development is dynamic, and so is the system by which nations received their designation. A series of indicators, institutions and measures are used to assess the state of a nation s development; historically, these indicators have varied throughout time and space. Development theory has been largely presupposed to the fact that the only institutions of importance were those directly expediting market activity. Directly following World War II, the health of a nation was predominately based off its gross domestic product (GDP). This view of the market as the magic bullet dominated the social construct of development; however, this paradigm began to shift come the late 1980s/early 1990s. This archaic way of thinking has now expanded to explore new theories of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will be talking about my torah portion Ki Teitzei which is about the commandments that Moses was giving at the end of his life. The commandments covered many different topics from cheating to inheritance. One thing that stood out to me in my torah portion was the commandment about dealing with difficult children. In the torah it says that if a family has a wayward and defiant son who is bad even after being disciplined. The parents together must take their son to the town s elders, and say This son of ours is disloyal and defiant; he does not heed us. He is a glutton and a drunkard. Why would God want parents to kill their own children? It says in the Mishnah, that if you kill one person, it is as if you are destroying the entire world, and if you save one person, you are saving the entire world. So commanding parents and communities to kill their rebellious children is like asking them to destroy the entire world. The rabbis who wrote the Mishnah, also did not like this commandment. As they explained the details, they made it very specific, so that it could never actually happen. First they restrict it by age: it only applies from a person s 13th birthday, until three months after that. So for me, I have two more days until I am safe from being stoned for being a stubborn and rebellious son. Then they restrict it so that it only applies to sons, and not daughters. They explain the Torah to mean that the son has to eat meat and wine, no other food or drink counts. They measure out an outrageous amount of meat and wine he has to eat and drink to be deemed a glutton and a drunkard. I think that it is wrong to cover up this part of the ... I hope to learn more about significant social issues that are widespread throughout the world today and about social forces to help bring about change. On a deeper level, I want to understand why sociology is that window to being able to think on a different level, and the key to understanding those underlying human connections /behavior. For example, why is there a mental health stigma? Why do stereotypes exist? Where do social norms and social constructs stem from? Why does society breed the type of mentality where photoshop and runway models are the standards of beauty? All of the answers to these questions lie in sociological theories and concepts. I also hope that this course can help me to understand other social problems, such as racism, crime, poverty, violence, sexism, and how to contribute to their solutions. Violation Of Social Norms In The Classroom According to National Post Ben Fields, a school resource officer at Spring Valley High School has been fired for using unnecessary force to remove a student from the classroom. Videos taken by the students in the classroom show Deputy Fields asking the student to leave; upon refusal, the officer is seen wrapping his forearm around the student s neck and flipping her while she was still sitting in her desk. The female student is then dragged, tossed across the room and finally handcuffed while students watch. According to students, the female student was on her cell phone in class. It is abnormal for a police officer to use excessive force on a student who is posing no immediate threat, especially on a young student. County Sheriff Lott has stated the forced used on the student was not part of training or normal protocol ( It just makes you sick , 2015). The concept of social norm and subjective construal can be seen. Construal is the way an individual views, understands, and interprets the social world to be. In subjective construal, although the situation is the same, there are opposing views on the way the people involved view, understand, and interpret the situation (Droogendyk, 2015). According to Antrobus, Bradford, Murphy, and Sargeant (2015) obeying the police is strongly associated with an individuals own feelings about obeying the police and their ties to the community. An individual who does not feel a strong tie to the community, in this case the school environment, would feel fewer obligations to obey. In the article, the female student made it clear that she will not hand over her cell phone or leave the classroom because she did not do anything wrong. However, according to the teacher and administrator the student did and therefore needed to be removed. Fields shared this view and seemed to think not only should the student be removed but also force was necessary. During its initial stage, students of the honors classes were selected as its participants. However, during the course of the said program implementation, certain issues have been raised that needed to be addressed by the school especially in the area of student learning. Based on a study made by a group of LSGH High School teachers last February 2014 on the effectiveness of using tablets in Grade 10 English classes, it has been observed that there is no distinct difference between the non tablet and tablet classes in terms of student performance. This may be attributed to the following: 1). there is no definite strategic plan made except for the roadmap on how the PEARL program will be implemented. 2). the infrastructure set up was not carefully taken into consideration. 3). teachers have not been given enough training prior to its implementation. 4). the policies and guidelines drafted on the students use of tablets were vague or lacking in terms of giving sanctions to erring students. ... This party was founded in Oakland, California by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale during the 1960 s. This party was dedicated to combating white oppression, and did so by the use of both peaceful and violent actions. Looking back at the history of the Black Panthers, it can be clearly seen that the peaceful idea of equality for all spawned this group and their violent actions for the main reason that they were willing to do anything to defend their beliefs. One of the greatest reasons for the violent actions of the party, should be credited to the co founder named Huey Newton. Huey Newton was a rebellious individual who was suspected of committing many crimes. As minister of defense within the party, Huey was seen as a leader to the members of the organization. In an interview with Newton, he made clear what he wanted the party to stand for, and what they needed to do to achieve this. In an excerpt from the interview transcript, he says that there are two kinds of nationalism, revolutionary and reactionary nationalism. Revolutionary nationalism is first dependent upon a People s revolution with the end goal being the people in power... If you are a reactionary nationalist you are not a socialist and your end goal is the oppression of the people. (Newton 1). From this transcript, it can be inferred what kind of nationalism Huey wants the party to follow. He wants the people to gain power through the use of violence And extremism. As the interview continues, Huey states the views of the Black Panther Party by saying The Black Panther Party, which is a revolutionary group of black people, realizes that we have an identity. We have to realize our black heritage in order to give us strength to move on and progress (Newton 1). By saying this, Huey is announcing to the world that the Black Panthers are going to cause a dramatic change, and implies that they will do whatever is necessary as long as they have the strength. Research has shown that on average, a diesel version versus gasoline version of the same vehicle, is $5,045 more than the gasoline version. (Vincentric, 2012) Consumers buying on a budget have to take these factors into consideration, which generally means that in more consumer oriented cars and SUVs, the gasolineversion sells much better than the diesel. Common reasons for this is that usually consumers associate diesel engines with the loud, smoke blowing pickup trucks that smoke out an entire intersection. A diesel vehicle emits more greenhouse gas emissions when burnt than gasoline, but its higher energy content per gallon results in higher fuel efficiency for the vehicle. The Vikings had their own unique religion which differed heavily from Christianity. Add to this the fact that Christians don t have the best history with accepting other beliefs, it is understandable that the Vikings may have feared Christian conversion and sought to find new lands to escape. This fear of conversion was a large part of the Saxon wars affecting Germanic peoples. It s worth noting the irony of the Vikings leaving their homeland in fear of Christian conversion considering their leader Harald Bluetooth (935 985), who was the King of Norway and Denmark, eventually converted the Vikings himself to Christianity. The second reason for the Vikings suddenly migrating may be due to their beliefs in relation to inheritance. The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged as Parentese. Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly understand social cues. Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition from little babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent s bond with their child. Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers. • 42. Human Imagination Is A Powerful Force For Good Or Evil... From our Creator s perspective, human imagination is a powerful force for good or evil purposes. In His estimation, nothing that a united and ungodly people could imagine would be impossible to them. This is why He created language barriers among the people at Babel. Before, everyone spoke one language. However, they became too independently intelligent for their own good and turned against their Creator; their minds were clouded with pride at the thought of reaching the heavens with a mighty man made tower (Gen. 11). Knowing the importance of human imagination, Jesus often presented life changing insight from the Kingdom of Heaven in the form of similes. This made the Kingdom of Heaven easier to grasp. The Holy Spirit used something familiar to the listeners, appealing to their imaginations, to reveal important truths. For example, Matthew 13 states: The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed... The Kingdom of Heaven is like unto leaven... The Kingdom of Heaven like unto a net...
