Case Study Of Dialysis Therapy
The annual per patient cost of providing dialysis therapy in the SHD program ranged from$80,372 to
$215,918. The median annual per patient cost of dialysis therapy was calculated to be $99,888 with an
interquartile range (IQR) of $89,057 $122,640. There was considerable het erogeneity in the cost
estimates across units with two of the sixteen units having per patient, per year costs totaling over
$200,000 per patient, per year and half of the sixteen units having total per patient, per year costs
totaling under $100,000 per patient, per year (Hirth, 2008).

The total number of active patients across the sixteen units during the time period averaged 242 in
total and ranged from2 to 34 patients. Most of the sixteen units did not provide dialysis treatments at
full physical capacity. The characteristics of the sixteen units are summarized in Table 1 below
(Furgusan, 2015).
HEMODIALYSIS EXPENDITURE: HD (Hemodialysis) machines typically cost $18,000 to $30,000.
The cost of dialyzers for HD ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 per year. Dialysis will continue to grow at
7% per year. For hemodialysis, both total and PPPY fee for service spending were nearly flat between
2012 and 2013 explained in graph 1. According to the U.S. Renal Data System, 468,000 patients
underwent dialysis in 2013. In 2013, ESRD PPPY spending declined by 0.7%. Given that these
expenditures decreased or increased only minimally from 2009 2013 (Coentrao, 2013).

Medicare spent a total of $10.7 billion for dialysis in 2012, In 2013, total Medicare paid claims for
ESRD services and supplies increased by 1.3% to $29.7 billion. The average costs per patient year
were $88,585 for hospital hemodialysis, $55,593 for self care hemodialysis, $44,790 for CAPD, and
$32,570 for home hemodialysis.

The Presentation of Isolation in Jane Eyre and the Wide...
Isolation in Jane Eyre and the Wide Sargasso Sea. The theme of isolation is explored in Bronte s
novel; Jane Eyre. This theme is also developed in The Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys. Both pieces
present different types of isolation, such as isolation due to location and the isolation of a character
due to their social status, such as Jane s status as a governess. The various ways in which isolation is
present in each of the texts show how inescapable and unavoidable isolation is for the characters in
both Jane Eyre and The Wide Sargasso, with it being present in such a large way in their lives.
Physical isolation is present in both texts, with Jane in Jane Eyre and Antoinette in the Wide Sargasso
Sea experiencing absolute isolation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also presents the idea that the separation her family experiences is potentially dangerous.
Evidence of isolation due to a characters place, or position, in society can be found in both novels.
Bronte demonstrates the isolation Jane inflicts upon herself, coming as a result of her awareness of her
place in society, in the Chapter 17 of Jane Eyre, which tells of Mr Rochester s return from his
unexpected departure to Gateshead hall, accompanied by numerous guests enjoying a social stay,
comprising mainly of games and dinners. Jane intentionally separates herself from Mr Rochester s
prestigious guests as they gather in the study after dinner. After firstly declining her master s request
for her company, anticipating the isolation she will face, stemming from her inferiority in her class,
she then goes on to separate herself. Bronte uses the first person narrative to reveal Jane s feelings,
such as in the narrative I sit in the shade if any shade there be in this brilliantly lit apartments; the
window curtain half hides me . This demonstrates Jane s need to physically isolate herself from the
party, attempting to not only isolate herself from their conversation with a book, but furthermore their
presence, trying to hide. This also indicates her vulnerability, which contrasting with the confidence of
the other women. This isolates her further. By saying half hides me her reservations are highlighted,

Technology Is The Work Place Environment
Another situation that technology is affecting is the work place environment. Many companies and
jobs are using cutting edge technology to help make work easier. More than 81% of employees work
using their personal mobile devices and 33% of Americans use at least three devices for work (Miller
Merrell, 46% of Managers Believe Employees Misuse Social Media and Work Technology ). Using
technology can make it easier to get ahold of someone faster and to draw more attention over the
World Wide Web. The web can be used for many workplace situations such as recruiting. 91% of
recruiters use social media for recruiting young soldiers (Miller Merrell, 46% of Managers Believe

When fellow employees have machines to do work for them and to talk for them, people may not even
be communicating at their jobs. Interpersonal communications are important to building workplace
relationships, this interaction is killed by technology tools which results in them becoming reserved
and self centered and burying themselves into work which is harmful for business (Ramey, The
Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology in the Workplace ). Technology is throwing itself at
teenagers with full force and it is affecting this generation of adolescents more than any generation
before. The advancements with technology have made the way to teen s brains. Most adolescents
communicate through cell phones and social media even when they are right next to one another.
According to the Pew Research Center, 72% of teenagers text regularly, and one in three sends more
than one hundred texts per day (Stewart, Does Cell Phone Use Really Affect Our Communication
Skills? ). Text messaging is the way teens communicate now, when confronted face to face they may
not say anything, afterwards the person text messages the one whom confronted him or her and then
says something back. Social networking is also squashing communication among teens; a phone call is
not the way to get ahold of somebody anymore, Facebook and Twitter is (Stewart, Does Cell Phone

Themes Of Life Is So Good
Theme Essay on Life is So Good
All of people at one point or another experiences a major change in a lifetime. From those moments
those people are able to grow and become better; In other words an adult. In the novel Life is So Good
by: George Dawson and Richard Glaubman the theme of this novel is coming of age . The theme of
coming of age is very apparent in many chapters in the story, and George Dawson s action are very
inspirational to all people. We see throughout the novel that George works hard on the farm to help
support the family. George also sacrifices his own education just to help the family, and, eventually,
George leaves his family so that he wouldn t have to be a burden to them and learn how to support
himself. The novel Life is So Good is a coming of age novel , because George Dawson learns to work
hard for his family, make sacrifices, and leave his family to learn how to support himself. The first
reason this novel s overarching theme is coming of age novel is that there are multiple scenes in this
book where George is working hard just to help his family. From a very young age, it isn t usually
expected that children will have to work in order to help support their families. Many young people
today gently and kindly go through the coming of age process due to the many improvements shared
within the modern world, and what makes it so inspirational is that George Dawson has to go through
coming of age at a very young age because it was needed by his family. Also he understands what
responsibility is and how he needs to be responsible. Putting his hand on my shoulder, he said to the
store clerk, He s all of ten years, but the boy crushed as much cane as I did. Since the age of four, I
had always been working to help the family. (3) From the quote, the narrator (George Dawson)
narrates that he has worked hard from a very young age and only does it to help support his family,
and it can be seen that the father is very proud of George. George Dawson s work ethic is also very
inspirational, and it inspires the reader to work harder so that they can achieve the things they desire.
Another reason why the overarching theme is coming of age is because the novel also talks about how

Paper Towns Metaphors
In a society where young adults are consumed by superficial appearances, the desire to understand
others and conceptualize life is neglected. In the novel, Paper Towns, John Green challenges young
adults to consider different perspectives through relatable characters and their experiences. At the
beginning of the novel, Margo and Quentin do not recognize each other s existence. Then, one night,
Margo enters Q s room through the window, and they go on an epic adventure of revenge. The next
morning, Margo is gone. Q begins searching for Margo once he notices the first clue she left, a poster
in her window. During the search, Q discovers Margo s love for Walt Whitman and her introversion.
When Q finds Margo, he finally understands how the view he had of her is incorrect and that he can
only truly see her now. Throughout Q s journey, the reader is introduced to metaphors that help Q ...

At the end of the novel, when Margo and Q are examining metaphors, Q contemplates that maybe
everyone starts out as a watertight vessel (302). Then, he explains that as people leave us, or don t love
us, or don t get us, or we don t get them, and we lose and fail and hurt one another . . . the vessel starts
to crack open in places, and that once the vessel cracks open, the end becomes inevitable (302). This
explains how vessels crack and that once it is cracked, there is no repair. Q continues by explaining
how there is all this time between when the cracks start to open and when we finally fall apart. And it
s only in that time that we can see one another, because we see out of ourselves through our cracks
and into others through theirs (302). This explanation shows us that only when people are capable of
exposing themselves, can others truly understand them, and they can understand others. This
perception shows how we can only gain true understanding through hardships and false

A Research on Interaction Design
Within this essay i will be writing about interaction design i will cover my chosen subject in detail via
the extensive research i have gathered. I will define and analyse interaction design using key examples
of this design practise both historical and contemporary.
I have chosen to focus my essay on interaction design as I ve recently finished a project on wave two
witch my final out come was a design/ prototype for an interactive phone application that allowed the
user to get advise on editing there CV in order to improve there chances of getting work. I focused my
design to be simple to use in hope that every user would be able to understand on how to easterly with
out any confusion navigate the app when using it. I have always been aware about interactive ensign
but that was the first time i practised it myself.
from the information i have gathered and what i have know before my definition interaction design is
pretty much built of the basis of graphic design itself you need to have fundamental skills of knowing
how to use the colour theory, typography, follow the grid, point line and form most or even all the
techniques used in graphic design. Where as technology has improved these days interactive design
has never been used so much as it is today. Being used on loads of new interactive devices such as,
tablets computers, net books, phones iPhones blackberries apps, television, ATM machines, computer
games, travel card machines, social networks, blogs,

Microcontroller and Sensors Based Gesture Vocalizer
Abstract: Gesture Vocalizer is a large scale multi microcontroller based system being designed to
facilitate the Communication among the dumb, deaf and blind communities and their communication
with the normal people. This system can be dynamically reconfigured to work as a smart device . In
this paper, microcontroller and sensors based gesture vocalizer is presented. Gesture vocalizer
discussed is basically a data glove and a microcontroller based system. Data glove can detect almost
all the movements of a hand and microcontroller based system converts some specified movements

There is a technical issue at this stage of the project that is if we convert the analog output of the
accelerometer, which ranges from 1.5 volts to 3.5 volts to a digital 8 bit output the systems become
very sensitive. Reason is division of 2 volts range into 256 (28 = 256) steps is much more sensitive
than converting 5 volts range into 256 steps. Now the question arises, why do we need a less sensitive
system, the answer if a more sensitive system is used then there is a huge change in the digital output
with the very little tilt of the hand, which is difficult to be handled.
[pic]
Fig. 3: Amplification and Attenuation Circuitry
Solution to this problem is to increase the range of the output of the accelerometer by using an
additional circuitry. This additional circuitry increases the range of the accelerometer from 2 volts
range to 5volts range. The circuitry shown in Fig.3 is used for theamplification and attenuation
purposes. Amplification means amplification of upper range i.e. 3.5 volts to the 5 volts, and the
attenuation means the attenuation of lower range i.e. 1.5 volts to 0 volts.
3.2 Tilt Detection
The basic function of this module is to detect the tilting of the hand and sending some binary data
against meaningful gestures, to the bend detection module. The output, which is obtained from the
accelerometers after amplification, is an analog output. To deal with this analog output, and to make it
useful for the further use, it is required to

Also as currently configured, zero latency is assumed by BSE in communications between the traders

The Similarities and Differences Between Greek and Roman...
In Ovid Metamorphoses, the Roman literature described the ruthless act of Pluto of rape, to seize and
carry away Proserpine without the consent of Ceres and in parallel in the Homeric Hymns of Demeter;
Persephone was seized and carried away by Hades without the consent of Demeter. The invariant
theme that was identified in both the Greek and Roman literature was the loss of innocence of
Persephone/Proserpine. Despite the various differences the story was presented, it reinforced the
innocence that was stolen from the god of the underworld, Hades or also known as Pluto. Throughout
this paper, it will discuss the similar characteristics of the two myths such as the motive that led and

Despite the similarities in both the Homeric Hymns to Demeter and Ovid Metamorphoses, the Roman
literature incorporated new characters into the myth of the rape of Proserpine. In the Homeric Hymns
to Demeter, the gods and goddesses that were involved in the abduction of Persephone were Gaia,
Zeus, and Hades whereas in Ovid Metamorphoses, Venus, the goddess of sexuality and Cupid, the son
of Venus and god of desire were introduced and involved in the scheme of the abduction of
Proserpine.
Unlike in the Homeric Hymns to Demeter, in the Roman literature, Jove and Gaia were involved in
the abduction of Persephone/Proserpine, representing one of the differences that Ovid did not retain
with the earlier Greek source.
In the Roman literature, it illustrated the myth that Pluto stole Proserpine s innocence due to effects of
cupid s arrow sent by Venus. Through an analytical perspective, Ovid illustrated Venus as the goddess
who too wanted the unification of the three cosmos for extension of power why should hell lag
behind? Why not there too extend your mother s empire and your own? (Met., p. 110) and being the
goddess of sexuality and not having the power to tamper with the virginities of Pallas and Diana but
Proserpine, she planned to kill two birds with one stone by summoning her son Cupid to shoot an
arrow through Pluto s heart against his and shot the barbed shaft deep in Pluto s heart (Met., p. 111) to

Gorgias Essay
Gorgias
In Gorgias we have a conversation between Socrates, Gorgias, and Polus, Gorgias young assistant.
They speak on the matters of rhetoric, knowledge, and whether injustice and suffering is better to do
or have done onto you. While conventional wisdom tells us that it is better to inflict suffering than to
receive it, Socrates argues that it is completely the opposite. Part of Socrates view is that moral
goodness is connected with knowledge, and that morally it is better to receive suffering than inflict it.
The argument begins with Polus telling Socrates that rhetoric and oratory can give you great power
and high regard. He likens their position to tyrants who do what they see fit. To this Socrates says, I

We do what we see fit to pursue the good or the better for ourselves. If we put someone to death we do
so because we believe it is beneficial. Now if having great power and doing what you see fit are
means to get to the ends which is the ultimate good, than by killing someone and inflicting more
suffering on them than yourself it is actually an abuse of power by using it without intelligence. If
intelligent use of power is always for the good and by putting someone to death it is actually worse,
aren t we really doing something that we do not want to do because it is not the better? At the same
time we are doing something that we see fit, we are actually not doing what we want to do because the
outcome is not the good but the bad. Socrates says that, Can such a man possibly have great power in
that city, if in fact having great power is, as you agree, something good?
Polus can t believe this claim and asks Socrates why it is that he would rather suffer injustice than
inflict it. Socrates says that he believes that, ...doing what s unjust is actually the greatest of evils. If
we are going too morally suffer for deeds that we saw fit, it is actually worse than suffering at the

so busy prospering in their life, they cannot completely comprehend the idea of their own passing.
With death comes the mysterious transition from life to death, which though is fated is
incomprehensible. In Something Rich and Strange by Ron Rash, the story focuses on this mystery and
how different people go about comprehending it. The literary elements are used to support and clarify
the central idea of the complicated and intricate story. Story elements of symbolism and point of view

The river represents the period between life and death. Another part of this symbol is the air
representing life and under the rocks and waterfall representing death. Just as the transition from life
to death is in motion, so is the rushing of the water. Both have a beginning and an ending point, but
the part in the middle is constantly moving, swirling and churning. As the girl loses hope for survival
and the waterfall is approaching, the narrator states, [S]he becomes part of the river (45). The girl now
crosses over the borderline of life and death, and she is about to be swallowed up by the falls of death
and can never return to life. However, when the diver goes into the river to save her, he comes out
saying that he d never enter that river again (47). He encounters the spiritual eccentricity of the edge
of death when he looks into lifeless girl s animated eyes, and he can not fathom that experience.
Another symbol that is introduced twice is the gurgle of the aquarium, which symbolizes the attempt
to understand nature s cycle of life. As she floats downstream, the girl remembers her sixth grade
science class, the gurgle of the aquarium at the back of the room (45). During this moment, all of her
thoughts are puzzled, and she cannot understand the death awaiting her. Later on, after sleepless

Dbq Essay On New Immigration
Close your eyes, put yourself in the place of an immigrant coming to America in the 1890s from
poverty or war. Arriving in America and before you can even smell the air of your new life you are
shoved into an island (such as Angel Island) to be vetted and integrated. You spend years trying to
convince the government officials that you are who you say you are. When you are finally released,
are you are homeless and jobless. The only jobs that the government will help you get are low income
labor jobs that you never imagined doing before. Many people believe America is the land of

Limited Liability
Discussion Assignment
You own and operate a small store. Currently, you are a single proprietor.
What kinds of risks and liabilities are you facing?
When a business is run as a single proprietor means that the owner is solely responsible and liable for
the actions of the company. The risk and the liability are that the personal assets such as house, car,
land, or bank savings are also part of the business. There is no legal separation of the assets between
the business and the owner of the business. For example, if the single proprietor defaults on a bank
loan or there is an accident on one of the employees, the owner is the sole responsible. The bank can
seize and liquidate the personal assets for the debts. In addition, the employee who suffered injury for
in a work related accident can sue and held the owner liable. The sole proprietor risks all the personal

When the sole proprietor incorporates, it gives advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that
the owner can sales shares to investors and raise capital. Moreover, with an incorporated business the
owner and the employees can benefit from health insurance, workers compensation, insurance against
accidents, etc. Another advantage of incorporating the business is that it guarantees the safety of the
personal assets. For example, if there is an accident or the business defaults on the bank loan, only the
business will be liable. The personal assets such as your house or car will not be

Television And The Future Of Television Essay
What do we really mean by television? The way we watch television has drastically changed over the
last fifteen years due to new technologies such as digital television and services providing on demand
access. These drastic changes have had a huge effect on viewers and have allowed online streaming
platforms to dominate and revolutionize the way the audience consumes (Aliloupour) media,
ultimately allowing the viewer to be in total control of how, when and where they want their content.
The idea of only being able to watch television on a television set is now a thing of the past. Due to
technology, the audience now has a vast variety of options on how they can access content. By using
scholarly articles, research in new media and Internet sites I will be analyzing current television and
where the future of television will be heading.
The way the audience watches television has drastically changed since the birth of television. The
viewer is changing the rules (Deign) of how we consume media and is no longer restricted to when
they can access content. The company Netflix s is a great example of this. Netflix is currently the
dominant company in the on demand media industry and isn t only changing the way that we watch

International Trade and Role of Bank
International Trade
International trade is exchange of capital, goods, and services across international borders or
territories. In most countries, it represents a significant share of gross domestic product (GDP). While
international trade has been present throughout much of history, its economic, social, and political
importance has been on the rise in recent centuries.
Industrialization, advanced transportation, globalization, multinational corporations, and outsourcing
are all having a major impact on the international trade system. Increasing international trade is crucial
to the continuance of globalization. Without international trade, nations would be limited to the goods
and services produced within their own borders.

American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between the United States, Canada and Mexico, and the
European Union between 27 independent states.
Risk in International Trade
Companies doing business across international borders face many of the same risks as would normally
be evident in strictly domestic transactions.

Gender Inequality And Gender Equality
Gender inequality is the state in which access to rights or opportunities is affected by gender. Gender
inequality is an issue not just nationally but globally. This issue is portrayed by the mistreating of
individuals, mainly women, and not valuing everyone as one. This presentation will illustrate the
exploration of gender equality, propose a solution and why that solution will produce a better future
for a better world.
Gender inequality is a very important issue common in our world today that refers to unequal
treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially
constructed gender roles as well as biologically through chromosomes, brain structure, and hormonal
differences. Gender inequality stems from distinctions, whether empirically grounded or socially
constructed. The only differences that men and women behold is their appearance and some organs.
Women have 1 brain and 1 heart which is the same as men but are still dehumanised. If our world
continues to carry out gender inequality, women won t have a voice to contribute to our society and
men will have the final choice and the freedom of speech. Out of the seven deadly sins, two of the
seven occur the most; Pride and Envy. Pride is shown by the man who thinks they re superior to
women. This is sometimes a result from Envy. Envy is seen when the man suffers from jealousy about
the woman and her possessions. He then treats her less than as a sign of Envy/Jealousy. Women

Character Analysis Of Gerta In A Night Divided
In the beginning of the book A Night Divided, Gerta was physically described as a twelve year old girl
with blond hair. She was also described as having round eyes, with a warm brown tone. Her body was
athletic and fit although, by the end of the book she had become really skinny almost as if she had
been starving.
Gerta was always described as outspoken, passionate, and a risk taker. For example, in the book when
Gerta and her brother were almost done with the tunnel, the tunnel began to collapse, her brother
insisted to let it collapse however Gerta never gave up on building the tunnel. This is an example of
Gerta being a risk taker and showing determination on not giving up. Another scene from the book is
when Gerta s only best friend goes to talk to her when she is building the tunnel, but Gerta
impulsively tells her that she doesn t want to be her friend anymore because she wants to be alone and
finish the tunnel to get to her father.
Gerta s family consists of five people not including Gerta; those people are her mom, dad, two
brothers, and grandma. Her mom is named Catherina, her dad s name is Aldous Lowe, her oldest
brother is named Fritz, her younger brother s name is Dominic and her grandmother s name is Oma
Gertrude. After the Berlin Wall was created, Gerta lived only with her mom and her oldest brother
Fritz since her youngest brother and her dad were stuck in the West Berlin looking for a job. Her
grandmother lived in the countryside in East Berlin, the only time Gerta s mother went to see her was
when Oma Gertrude broke her leg and needed attention. Gerta s only friend through out the book was
Anna.
The most important thing that happened to Gerta was when she was walking home from school with
Anna and saw her dad do a dance that he would do for her every night before the berlin wall was
created. However, her dad kept repeating one part over and over again which was digging with a
shovel. After that, Anna gave her a letter from her dad with a drawing of a building that Gerta had to
find and figure out what it meant. Once she found the building she started looking around and found
and underground room and figured out what her father wanted her to do, he wanted her to dig a tunnel
to west

12 Angry Men Rhetorical Analysis
One of the most valuable abilities an individual can possess is dauntlessness and the art of persuasion.
In the film 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, twelve members of the jury must determine and issue a
final decree on whether an inner city teenager is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt or not guilty of his
father s murder. Despite the numerous factual evidence provided, a majority of the jurors are
convinced without reasonable doubt that the young boy is guilty and should be sentenced to death.
These abilities are undoubtedly illustrated when one juror decides to stand against eleven jurors in
transforming the fate of the teenage boy. The individual is Juror 8. He utilizes the act of courage to
stand against the other jurors in what he believes is an unfair judgment and also uses persuasion to
alter their decisions. Through analyzing juror 8 s dialogue and his employment of rhetorical
techniques with each juror, the readers can discern his unique traits of courage and persuasion. First,
Let s examine Juror 8 s demeanor. He appears to be a gentle, quiet and an astute man. In the initial
jury vote, he is the only juror that votes not guilty while the rest votes guilty. Thus, he exhibits that he
is a man that values justice and is willing to fight for it. His display of dubitatio is recognized when he
says, I don t know whether I believe it or not. Maybe I don t. (Lumet Rose, 1957). He is uncertain
whether the boy is innocent or guilty but merely seeks the truth. He further states that it is not easy for
him to send a boy off to die without talking about it first (Lumet Rose, 1957). While justifying to Juror
7 why he cast a not guilty vote, Juror 8 utilizes pathos to sway the jurors. Look, this boy s been kicked
around all his life. You know, living in a slum, his mother dead since he was nine. That s not a very
good head start, he says (Lumet Rose, 1957). Juror 8 points to the boy s poor upbringing in a bid to
persuade the others to reconsider discussing the case before making a hasty judgment. He also uses his
moderate touch and amiable expressions to calm Juror 9 from the comments made by Juror 10.
Consequently, it is apparent that Juror 8 s attitude in determining facts to the

Meaning Of The Sandman
The Sandman The Sandman is a mythical character whose purpose is to lull children to sleep and give
them sweet dreams, by sprinkling magical sand into their eyes. If children fought the effects of his
magical sand, they would have torturous nightmares. The folklore says that the sleep in the corner of
the eyes is a proof that The Sandman was there during the night. The text Verse 1 Say your prayers

say their prayers before they go to bed. The parent tucks his son into bed to keep him warm during the
cold night, which is associated with sin. Children see duvets and blankets as a shield to protect them
from anything that can happen throughout the night. Although the last line can seem disturbing The

The Organization s Formal Organisational Structure Essay
1.0 Introduction
The purpose of this report is to further analyse and provide potential solutions for the issue addressed
in the previous brief Sig Processing System s inefficient communication network. Framed by the
management function of organising, this report aims to discuss how the organisation s formal
organisational structure has led to a highly centralised communication network and the ramifications
of this. This issue will then be addressed with several recommendations focussed on replacing the
structure of the communication network to a more efficient one by changing the current organisational
structure.
2.0 Defining and Framing the Issue
Sig Processing Systems, as noted in the organisational profile (Blackboard, n.d.), is a rapidly changing
business which is facing issues with its internal environment. The organisation has been growing
quickly and has the potential to expand overseas, where most revenue comes from. This requires Sig
Processing Systems to have a strong organisational change capacity the ability to adapt to change
efficiently (Soparnot, 2011). Judge and Douglas (2009) have identified several factors as contributing
to organisational change capacity, one of which is effective communication vertically and horizontally
between departments. Effective inter departmental communication has also been identified as an
important in the company s overall organisational performance (Ramezan, Sanjaghi Kalateh Baly,
2013). The underlying issue for

Racial Injustice in A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine...
I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls will be holding hands with little white boys and
girls. by Martin Luther King Jr, the dream that is still unfulfilled. White supremacy, black inferiority,
Jim Crow law, segregation, racial terror, and racial inequality are the most common topics of
American history. The quote of Martin Luther King Jr asserts the truth that racial injustice was in the
vein of the American dream. He hopes someday that injustice, the view that African Americans are
inferior will go away, and they will be treated equally like a full human being. The theme of racial
injustice is prevalent in both A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and Sonny s Blues by James

Later in the story, another bomb attack reported in the paper which was much closer to home: a
racially motivated attack against a black family integrating a white neighborhood. That event was
announced by the Younger s neighbor Mrs. Jonson, when they were ready to move to the all Whites
Clybourne Park. Example scenarios from the above certainly provide the evidence of racial terrorism,
and its fear among the Black community.
In contrast Sonny s Blues , talks about the fear of direct physical harm. Narrator s mother described
that in a moonlit night some dunk white folks killed his uncle in front of his father which is a horrific
act of racism. However, mama says, I ain t telling you to make you scared of bitter or to make you
hate nobody. I m telling you this because you got a brother. And the world ain t changed (346).
Comment of the narrator s mother clearly shows the view point of the African American people of that
time to their American dream, and how they were living in fear of physical harm.
Jim Crow law legalized the segregation between the blacks and whites thought out the USA in the
19th century, and that led to the discrimination such as housing inequality and neglected segregated
black community. That law allowed the whites to discriminate black people from the equal
opportunity of housing and prohibit blacks from living in

Ischemic strokes are caused by an obstruction within a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain. The
American Stroke Association also states that, atherosclerosis is the development of fatty deposits
which causes an obstruction in the lining of vessel walls (ASA, par. 1 2). The second type of
cerebrovascular accident is hemorrhagic. The American Stroke Association explains that hemorrhagic
strokes account for the other 13 percent of stroke cases. The American Stroke Association also states,
It results from a weakened vessel that ruptures and bleeds into the surrounding brain. The blood
accumulates and compresses the surrounding brain tissue (Hemorrhagic strokes). If the
cerebrovascular accident occurs in the middle cerebral artery of the left hemisphere, then several
effects could occur including: aphasia, right side hemiplegia and memory loss. According to the
NINDS, damage to a specific portion of the brain that is responsible for language is known as aphasia,
which is a neurological disorder. This disorder includes difficulty in reading and writing, not able to
express oneself when speaking, and trouble understanding speech (NINDS, par.1). There are three

Personality and Development
Personality is who an individual is, how one does things, manages events and situations, and how one
describes other individuals. One s personality can help guide an individual throughout one s life, in
addition to having power over the situation or task. Many, if not all of these factors of personality,
traits, and genetics, make up who an individual is. One s may believe an individual s personality,
differences, and individualities is the core of who an individual truly is.
Genetics and Research Genetics illustrate the variations within one s personality and measures are

Identical twins are many times seen as genetic reproductions representing variations from twin to the
other twin and are created because of environmental factors (Cervone Pervin, 2010). Since identical
twins share identical genetics, his or her personality seems to also share similarities. Moreover, the
environment can impact fraternal twins, resulting in fraternal twins personalities and his or her
characteristics similar to each other. For example, identical twins. Some research shows twins that are
raised in the same residence have little differences from those who are raised in a different home.
Twins that are growing up in the same home does not bring then any more closer to being identical
then what they already are (Cervone Pervin, 2010). In some cases, twins can appear different from one
another than they first thought or how others would assume they would be. However, identical twins
are very close if not the same in the way they act, react, think, feel, etc. it is easy to tell identical twins
at the cost of a little observation time, either with them together or apart (Van Hulle, Lemery Chalfant
Goldsmith, 2007). Temperament plays a role in personality, temperament is also known as a
subdomain of a individuals personality. However, personality goes deeper than one s temperament and
includes values and the way an individual believes in their beliefs.

Comparing And Contrasting Two Sonnets
Comparing and Contrasting Two Sonnets
Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare and What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And Why by
Edna St. Vincent Millay are both sonnets that discuss companionship and a glimpse of each poet s
experiences. In Sonnet 116 , Shakespeare illustrates how capability is weakened by its metaphysical
stereotype and ideals such as, love, while on the contrary, in What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And
Where, And Why Millay feeds on the chaos between the ideal of love and its harsh reality, heartbreak.
Both poets seem to be love struck but there is a significant difference in the two. I will compare and
contrast Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare and What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, And Where, And
Why by Edna St. Vincent Millay. I will also inquire and analyze why this particular form of poetry
established different effects.
What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, and Where and Why and Sonnet 116 are, in fact, two different
sonnets. What Lips My Lips Have Kissed, and Where and Why is a Petrarchan or Italian sonnet; Due
to the fact, that this sonnet has a rhyme scheme that divides the first eight lines from the last six lines.
By dividing the poem, the rhyme scheme helps to emphasize the theme. The overall theme of the
poem is loss, which occurred in the past. Since the rhyme scheme is divided into two parts; the first
part uses the metaphor of lovers while the second part uses the metaphor of a tree. On the contrary,

The Importance Of Fanatic Discipline In Nursing
As look to the future, I become excited about the possibilities that lay ahead. I was captured by Collins
with these words, We cannot predict the future. But we can create it (p.1). Great by Choice, then
became something of an obsession. I began to dissect and examine myself and my gifts and talents to
determine where my strengths lay, and weaknesses could be improved. I examined how I could
become of better service, exercise humility and leadership more effectively and how I could share my
passions with others. I suggest that if I could accomplish these goals, I would indeed feel as fulfilled.
As I continued my inward journey, I devoured the subsequent chapters where I felt continued to be
reassured. Fanatic Discipline is described by Collins consistency with regard to values, long term
goals, performance standards and consistency over time. He goes on to remind us that regimentation is
not the same as discipline and to a 10Xer the only discipline is self discipline (p.21). In the medical
profession, the best nurses learn to triage when it comes to patient care. This means, to determine the
priority of the patients treatment based on the severity of condition of each individual. This is
especially important when handling crisis situations and requires fanatic discipline. Lack of
monomaniacal focus in medicine can result in the loss of life. I would suggest that in our day to day
professional and personal lives 10Xers, must be able to triage according to which

Essay about The Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep

twenty seven words has caused an intense debate. The polemic is that some people claim that a gun
control policy is unconstitutional, while others disagree and even say it is necessary in order to reduce
crime. Now, what does gun control mean? If it means to analyze who is responsible enough to own a
gun by a Universal Background Check ; that sounds right to everyone. But in the article What Are

Supporters of gun control claim that if there were no guns on the streets, massacres like the one in
Sandy Hook could have been prevented. Gun control supporters also argue that arming everyone will
not save you from getting killed. They argue that in a gun shooting everything happens fast and you
usually do not have time react to the situation. Moreover gun control supporters state that it is more
difficult to buy a medicine than to order ammunition online from your home. In the article Just how
easy is it to buy a gun over the Internet? published in The Washington Post by Brad Plumer. The
author explains that even though the Gun Control Act of 1968 prohibits the direct shipping of
firearms, there are sellers that are willing to sell their guns even when researchers explicitly stated that
they probably couldn t pass a background check . This shows the weakness of the current gun
regulations and the need for stronger and efficient laws that reduces murder rates. Supporters of gun
control say that banning guns is the key to prevent massacres in public places or institutions. If there
were no guns, psychopaths would not have all that deadly artillery to kill people. Also many people
believe that the second amendment is not relevant anymore. When the constitution was written,
nobody, not even the founders thought that the nation would survive. In his article Gun Control Foes

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Analysis
In Ken Kesey s One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, a story is told through the eyes of a large
Columbian Indian who is a patient at a mental institution. His story explains all that has happened
since he has been there. The key to his success is that no one seems to acknowledge his existence and
would not hide secrets around him because he was thought to be deaf and dumb. He finds a way to
learn everything that has happened, and he will eventually meet a revolutionary man who will change
both his life and the ward forever. The story also has a very common theme involving the women
within it. Kesey makes most of the women in the story manipulative and overbearing. Mrs. Bromden
and Mrs. Bibbit are two examples of the women who have handicapped men in their lives. Comparing
these two and what they did will give a better perspective on how Chief and Billy turned out the way
they did. Through the power these women had over the men in their lives, it is clear to the audience
now why Chief, his father, and Billy all turned out the way they did based upon the way they were
belittled and manipulated by Mrs. Bromden and Mrs. Bibbit.
For starters, Mrs. Bromden was the first to begin the process of belittling Chief Bromden and his
father. She marries the Chief of the Columbian Indians and has him change his name instead of her.
Chief explains this to McMurphy the night before the fishing trip as he says, My Papa was a full Chief
and his name was Tee Ah Millatoona... (Kesey 219).Bromden

Jan Van Eyck Visual Analysis
There are endless works of art that surround each and every one of us that have always been enclosed

underlying meaning behind it. One of the greatest double portraits of the Netherlandish Renaissance,
is the Arnolfini Portrait, painted in 1494 by one of the most noteworthy northern European writers of
the Renaissance, Jan Van Eyck. The painting depicts a formal picture of a wealthy couple, Giovanna

It is filled with scenes of the Passion of Christ. Like Jones mentions in his article, these metaphors
creates an emotional connection with the presence of God surrounding the couple (Jones). The mirror
also represents some kind some kind of witnessing taking place. This is reinforced by the signature of
Jan Van Eyck above the mirror that says Jan Van Eyck fuit hic which translates to Jan Van Eyck was

have a greater visual reality of the room that is depicted, but it can be also seen as if the viewer is
standing in the back of the room, as if they are a part of the painting itself, witnessing this scene. This
has a large significance of adding the viewer into the space and simply creates some sort of connection
that the audience can create as if they are involved within the event that is taking place (Hicks). The
mirror also shows what society was like at this time, because of the fact that only the privileged were
able to see their own faces and their own reflections (Hicks). In general, the mirror simply represents a

Rhetorical Analysis Of Winston Churchill s We Shall Never...
European land was annihilated and the European countries were all in dispute. Men from all around
stepped up and fought for their country, risking and generally losing their lives to save their loved
ones. This fatal war was known as World War 2, the deadliest war in history. The war took a
devastating toll on many people worldwide, while they watched a majority of their loved ones pass;
many felt defeated, until one man stepped up, Winston Churchill. Winston Churchill pronounced his
We Shall Never Surrender speech on June 4, 1940 at the House of Commons, in the United Kingdom.
He delivered his speech in the aftermath of a successful evacuation of the British forces at Dunkirk,
following the German Army attack. Churchill s uplifting words gave the nation hope and a sense of
pride, which had been lost during the brutal war. Through imagery and repetition, Winston Churchill
delivered his theme in his speech, We Shall Never Surrender , that no matter the hardships and defeats
that a nation might experience, to not lose hope and to unite together in order to gain strength.

Most of the sixteen units did not provide dialysis treatments at full physical capacity. The characteristics of the sixteen units are summarized in Table 1 below (Furgusan, 2015). HEMODIALYSIS EXPENDITURE: HD (Hemodialysis) machines typically cost $18,000 to $30,000. The cost of dialyzers for HD ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 per year. Dialysis will continue to grow at 7% per year. For hemodialysis, both total and PPPY fee for service spending were nearly flat between 2012 and 2013 explained in graph 1. According to the U.S. Renal Data System, 468,000 patients underwent dialysis in 2013. In 2013, ESRD PPPY spending declined by 0.7%. Given that these expenditures decreased or increased only minimally from 2009 2013 (Coentrao, 2013). • 3. The Presentation of Isolation in Jane Eyre and the Wide... Isolation in Jane Eyre and the Wide Sargasso Sea. The theme of isolation is explored in Bronte s novel; Jane Eyre. This theme is also developed in The Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys. Both pieces present different types of isolation, such as isolation due to location and the isolation of a character due to their social status, such as Jane s status as a governess. The various ways in which isolation is present in each of the texts show how inescapable and unavoidable isolation is for the characters in both Jane Eyre and The Wide Sargasso, with it being present in such a large way in their lives. Physical isolation is present in both texts, with Jane in Jane Eyre and Antoinette in the Wide Sargasso Sea experiencing absolute isolation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also presents the idea that the separation her family experiences is potentially dangerous. Evidence of isolation due to a characters place, or position, in society can be found in both novels. Bronte demonstrates the isolation Jane inflicts upon herself, coming as a result of her awareness of her place in society, in the Chapter 17 of Jane Eyre, which tells of Mr Rochester s return from his unexpected departure to Gateshead hall, accompanied by numerous guests enjoying a social stay, comprising mainly of games and dinners. Jane intentionally separates herself from Mr Rochester s prestigious guests as they gather in the study after dinner. After firstly declining her master s request for her company, anticipating the isolation she will face, stemming from her inferiority in her class, she then goes on to separate herself. Bronte uses the first person narrative to reveal Jane s feelings, such as in the narrative I sit in the shade if any shade there be in this brilliantly lit apartments; the window curtain half hides me . This demonstrates Jane s need to physically isolate herself from the party, attempting to not only isolate herself from their conversation with a book, but furthermore their presence, trying to hide. This also indicates her vulnerability, which contrasting with the confidence of the other women. This isolates her further. By saying half hides me her reservations are highlighted, ... Interpersonal communications are important to building workplace relationships, this interaction is killed by technology tools which results in them becoming reserved and self centered and burying themselves into work which is harmful for business (Ramey, The Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology in the Workplace ). Technology is throwing itself at teenagers with full force and it is affecting this generation of adolescents more than any generation before. The advancements with technology have made the way to teen s brains. Most adolescents communicate through cell phones and social media even when they are right next to one another. According to the Pew Research Center, 72% of teenagers text regularly, and one in three sends more than one hundred texts per day (Stewart, Does Cell Phone Use Really Affect Our Communication Skills? ). Text messaging is the way teens communicate now, when confronted face to face they may not say anything, afterwards the person text messages the one whom confronted him or her and then says something back. Social networking is also squashing communication among teens; a phone call is not the way to get ahold of somebody anymore, Facebook and Twitter is (Stewart, Does Cell Phone Use Really ... • 5. Themes Of Life Is So Good Theme Essay on Life is So Good All of people at one point or another experiences a major change in a lifetime. From those moments those people are able to grow and become better; In other words an adult. In the novel Life is So Good by: George Dawson and Richard Glaubman the theme of this novel is coming of age . The theme of coming of age is very apparent in many chapters in the story, and George Dawson s action are very inspirational to all people. We see throughout the novel that George works hard on the farm to help support the family. George also sacrifices his own education just to help the family, and, eventually, George leaves his family so that he wouldn t have to be a burden to them and learn how to support himself. The novel Life is So Good is a coming of age novel , because George Dawson learns to work hard for his family, make sacrifices, and leave his family to learn how to support himself. The first reason this novel s overarching theme is coming of age novel is that there are multiple scenes in this book where George is working hard just to help his family. From a very young age, it isn t usually expected that children will have to work in order to help support their families. Many young people today gently and kindly go through the coming of age process due to the many improvements shared within the modern world, and what makes it so inspirational is that George Dawson has to go through coming of age at a very young age because it was needed by his family. Also he understands what responsibility is and how he needs to be responsible. Putting his hand on my shoulder, he said to the store clerk, He s all of ten years, but the boy crushed as much cane as I did. Since the age of four, I had always been working to help the family. (3) From the quote, the narrator (George Dawson) narrates that he has worked hard from a very young age and only does it to help support his family, and it can be seen that the father is very proud of George. George Dawson s work ethic is also very inspirational, and it inspires the reader to work harder so that they can achieve the things they desire. Another reason why the overarching theme is coming of age is because the novel also talks about how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The next morning, Margo is gone. Q begins searching for Margo once he notices the first clue she left, a poster in her window. This explains how vessels crack and that once it is cracked, there is no repair. Q continues by explaining how there is all this time between when the cracks start to open and when we finally fall apart. And it s only in that time that we can see one another, because we see out of ourselves through our cracks and into others through theirs (302). This explanation shows us that only when people are capable of exposing themselves, can others truly understand them, and they can understand others. This perception shows how we can only gain true understanding through hardships and false ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. A Research on Interaction Design Within this essay i will be writing about interaction design i will cover my chosen subject in detail via the extensive research i have gathered. I will define and analyse interaction design using key examples of this design practise both historical and contemporary. I have chosen to focus my essay on interaction design as I ve recently finished a project on wave two witch my final out come was a design/ prototype for an interactive phone application that allowed the user to get advise on editing there CV in order to improve there chances of getting work. I focused my design to be simple to use in hope that every user would be able to understand on how to easterly with out any confusion navigate the app when using it. I have always been aware about interactive ensign but that was the first time i practised it myself. from the information i have gathered and what i have know before my definition interaction design is pretty much built of the basis of graphic design itself you need to have fundamental skills of knowing how to use the colour theory, typography, follow the grid, point line and form most or even all the techniques used in graphic design. Where as technology has improved these days interactive design has never been used so much as it is today. Being used on loads of new interactive devices such as, tablets computers, net books, phones iPhones blackberries apps, television, ATM machines, computer games, travel card machines, social networks, blogs, ... There is a technical issue at this stage of the project that is if we convert the analog output of the accelerometer, which ranges from 1.5 volts to 3.5 volts to a digital 8 bit output the systems become very sensitive. Reason is division of 2 volts range into 256 (28 = 256) steps is much more sensitive than converting 5 volts range into 256 steps. Now the question arises, why do we need a less sensitive system, the answer if a more sensitive system is used then there is a huge change in the digital output with the very little tilt of the hand, which is difficult to be handled. [pic] Fig. 3: Amplification and Attenuation Circuitry Solution to this problem is to increase the range of the output of the accelerometer by using an additional circuitry. This additional circuitry increases the range of the accelerometer from 2 volts range to 5volts range. The circuitry shown in Fig.3 is used for theamplification and attenuation purposes. Amplification means amplification of upper range i.e. 3.5 volts to the 5 volts, and the attenuation means the attenuation of lower range i.e. 1.5 volts to 0 volts. 3.2 Tilt Detection The basic function of this module is to detect the tilting of the hand and sending some binary data against meaningful gestures, to the bend detection module. The output, which is obtained from the accelerometers after amplification, is an analog output. To deal with this analog output, and to make it useful for the further use, it is required to ... In Ovid Metamorphoses, the Roman literature described the ruthless act of Pluto of rape, to seize and carry away Proserpine without the consent of Ceres and in parallel in the Homeric Hymns of Demeter; Persephone was seized and carried away by Hades without the consent of Demeter. The invariant theme that was identified in both the Greek and Roman literature was the loss of innocence of Persephone/Proserpine. Despite the various differences the story was presented, it reinforced the innocence that was stolen from the god of the underworld, Hades or also known as Pluto. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite the similarities in both the Homeric Hymns to Demeter and Ovid Metamorphoses, the Roman literature incorporated new characters into the myth of the rape of Proserpine. In the Homeric Hymns to Demeter, the gods and goddesses that were involved in the abduction of Persephone were Gaia, Zeus, and Hades whereas in Ovid Metamorphoses, Venus, the goddess of sexuality and Cupid, the son of Venus and god of desire were introduced and involved in the scheme of the abduction of Proserpine. Unlike in the Homeric Hymns to Demeter, in the Roman literature, Jove and Gaia were involved in the abduction of Persephone/Proserpine, representing one of the differences that Ovid did not retain with the earlier Greek source. In the Roman literature, it illustrated the myth that Pluto stole Proserpine s innocence due to effects of cupid s arrow sent by Venus. Through an analytical perspective, Ovid illustrated Venus as the goddess who too wanted the unification of the three cosmos for extension of power why should hell lag behind? Why not there too extend your mother s empire and your own? (Met., p. 110) and being the goddess of sexuality and not having the power to tamper with the virginities of Pallas and Diana but Proserpine, she planned to kill two birds with one stone by summoning her son Cupid to shoot an arrow through Pluto s heart against his and shot the barbed shaft deep in Pluto s heart (Met., p. 111) to take away Proserpine s virginity followed by her ... They speak on the matters of rhetoric, knowledge, and whether injustice and suffering is better to do or have done onto you. While conventional wisdom tells us that it is better to inflict suffering than to receive it, Socrates argues that it is completely the opposite. Part of Socrates view is that moral goodness is connected with knowledge, and that morally it is better to receive suffering than inflict it. Gender inequality is an issue not just nationally but globally. This issue is portrayed by the mistreating of individuals, mainly women, and not valuing everyone as one. This presentation will illustrate the exploration of gender equality, propose a solution and why that solution will produce a better future for a better world. Gender inequality is a very important issue common in our world today that refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially constructed gender roles as well as biologically through chromosomes, brain structure, and hormonal differences. Gender inequality stems from distinctions, whether empirically grounded or socially constructed. The only differences that men and women behold is their appearance and some organs. Women have 1 brain and 1 heart which is the same as men but are still dehumanised. If our world continues to carry out gender inequality, women won t have a voice to contribute to our society and men will have the final choice and the freedom of speech. Out of the seven deadly sins, two of the seven occur the most; Pride and Envy. Pride is shown by the man who thinks they re superior to women. This is sometimes a result from Envy. • 20. 12 Angry Men Rhetorical Analysis One of the most valuable abilities an individual can possess is dauntlessness and the art of persuasion. In the film 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, twelve members of the jury must determine and issue a final decree on whether an inner city teenager is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt or not guilty of his father s murder. Despite the numerous factual evidence provided, a majority of the jurors are convinced without reasonable doubt that the young boy is guilty and should be sentenced to death. These abilities are undoubtedly illustrated when one juror decides to stand against eleven jurors in transforming the fate of the teenage boy. The individual is Juror 8. He utilizes the act of courage to stand against the other jurors in what he believes is an unfair judgment and also uses persuasion to alter their decisions. Through analyzing juror 8 s dialogue and his employment of rhetorical techniques with each juror, the readers can discern his unique traits of courage and persuasion. First, Let s examine Juror 8 s demeanor. He appears to be a gentle, quiet and an astute man. In the initial jury vote, he is the only juror that votes not guilty while the rest votes guilty. Thus, he exhibits that he is a man that values justice and is willing to fight for it. His display of dubitatio is recognized when he says, I don t know whether I believe it or not. Maybe I don t. (Lumet Rose, 1957). He is uncertain whether the boy is innocent or guilty but merely seeks the truth. He further states that it is not easy for him to send a boy off to die without talking about it first (Lumet Rose, 1957). While justifying to Juror 7 why he cast a not guilty vote, Juror 8 utilizes pathos to sway the jurors. Look, this boy s been kicked around all his life. You know, living in a slum, his mother dead since he was nine. That s not a very good head start, he says (Lumet Rose, 1957). Juror 8 points to the boy s poor upbringing in a bid to persuade the others to reconsider discussing the case before making a hasty judgment. He also uses his moderate touch and amiable expressions to calm Juror 9 from the comments made by Juror 10. Consequently, it is apparent that Juror 8 s attitude in determining facts to the ... The key to his success is that no one seems to acknowledge his existence and would not hide secrets around him because he was thought to be deaf and dumb. He finds a way to learn everything that has happened, and he will eventually meet a revolutionary man who will change both his life and the ward forever. The story also has a very common theme involving the women within it. Kesey makes most of the women in the story manipulative and overbearing. Mrs. Bromden and Mrs. Bibbit are two examples of the women who have handicapped men in their lives.
