A Discussion On Expressing Yourself
Expressing yourself When anyone mentions the deep web, the public usually thinks of the dark
place in the internet where crimes and conspiracy theories take place. To begin, the internet is
split into two sections called the Clearnet and deep web. Clearnet are websites that are indexed
like, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Clearnet websites are easily accessible due to
the high ranking in popularity. The Deep web is still part of the internet, to be more specific the
deep web holds 95% of the internet content and the Clearnet contains only 5%, which is roughly
x500 the content. The Deep web is any website that cannot be indexed by a search engine. Deep
Web or the hidden web are websites that the general public access every day. For example,
Facebook and YouTube are Clearnet sites ( http://www.facebook.com ) but when you login, then
the content would be considered deep web ( https://www.facebook.com/muhaimin.khandaker.5).
This is because web crawlers ( a software that indexes websites) cannot index websites that
requires a form authentication ( Email and password). Another way websites are not indexed is
with the robot.txt file. The robot.txt file is a line that web developers can incorporate when
developing a website that does not want to be indexed. The deep web is not the dark web but,
the dark web is a small part of the deep web. Dark web uses software like Freenet, Jondo, Ip2,
Alienet, Tails OS, and the most famous software, Tor to access websites anonymously

Brendon Boyd Urie
I m still figuring out who I am, but I know I m not who I was. Brendon Boyd Urie was born on
April 12, 1987 in St. George, Utah. He was raised in a very Mormon family, and he is of
Hawaiian descent. Growing up, he loved music, and he was always singing or playing the
drums, guitar, or bass guitar. Naturally, when Brendon got to high school, he desperately wanted
to join a band with people who loved music as much as he did. At Palo Verde High School in Las
Vegas, Nevada in 2004, Brendon met Brent Wilson, who asked him to be in Wilson s band, since
they needed a new guitarist. This band became known as Panic! At the Disco, a very popular pop
punk band today. Although Brendon entered the band as a guitarist, the rest of the band heard his

the video for their song, Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet. Directly after the tour for
Pretty. Odd. in 2009, Ryan Rossand bassist Jon Walker decided to depart from the band, citing

Gender Roles In The Battle Of Gettysburg
The Battle of Gettysburg was a short lived battle with tremendously tragic amounts of bloodshed
and casualties. The physical battle, lasting the short span from July 1st to July 3rd 1863, is
considered by many, the most significant and important battle of the American Civil War.
Unfortunately what many consider the most significant battle of the American War was also
indeed the bloodiest battle fought on American soil. Confidence can be to blame for the outset of
this battle and how it began. In May of 1863, the Confederate army leader, Robert E. Leewas
fortunate enough in Chancellorsville, Virginia when he and his army claimed the victory against
the Army of the Potomac. Lee experienced a high of confidence from the victory, which ultimately

Common domestic tasks that women were faced and limited to for a large time frame of history,
but specifically during The Battle of Gettysburg were ideally tasks involving the home. A Harvard
study on gender roles, specifically women s gender roles throughout history states, Men tended
to work outside the home in the fields, while women specialized in activities within the home.
This division of labor then generated norms about the appropriate role of women in society.
Societies characterized by plough agriculture, and the resulting gender based division of labor,
developed the belief that the natural place for women is within the home. Because women were
limited to the home and family, society had tunnel vision as to what women were capable of.
The capability of a women was underestimated because of societal standards at the time, but the
argument of women physically being smaller and not as strong as men was also a reason as to
why women were not allowed near a battlefield. Some women did not accept this role they were
so strictly given. When roles are applied to societal members, rebellion is to be expected,
especially when roles are not fitting to every single

John Lennon Accomplishments
John Lennon s life as a Beatle began when he was 20 years old, and even though the band may
have broken up, his love for music never died. Along with being a music lover, he was a large
peace activist. Not only him, but also his wife, Yoko Ono. Together they traveled the world, going
to different places and spreading their voices and opinions, trying to be heard, and trying to change
the way society looked at things. Throughout John Lennons career, he and Ono dedicated a large
portion of their time to being anti war activists, as well as influencing this ideal on the youth.
Overall, John Lennon was a peace activist through his musical career and used his fame to draw
attention to his beliefs.
First off, Lennon had many successful pieces of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After him and his wife Yoko Ono were married, they took their two week honeymoon at the
presidential suite at the Hilton Amsterdam on March 25, 1969. Lennon referred to this protest as
his Bed In for Peace (Lifton). The press was invited into their hotel room for 12 hours each day
to observe, learn, and ask questions about Lennon and Ono s participation in the anti war peace
movement. Before the press had arrived, the press had completely different expectations than
Lennon and Ono. When the press had arrived, Lennon and Ono were dressed in their pajamas,
prepared to talk about their position on the on going Vietnam War. During these two weeks of
protesting, was also the time when Lennon and Ono recorded and released the song Give Peace
a Chance, which, as said before, became an important part of their activist careers. A lot of
people might look at the idea of sitting in bed for a week and letting your hair grow for peace
remains undoubtedly silly, the couple admitted the absurdity was part of the plan (Lifton). If this
were any ordinary people, it would not have had such an effect on the press, or society, but since
John Lennon was previously a very well known musician, he was able to use his fame to his
advantage. This allowed him to lure in the paparazzi to publicize the event. Lennon confronted

Societal Impacts Of Genetic Study Of Intelligence
SOCIETAL IMPACTS OF GENETIC STUDY OF INTELLIGENCE: Throughout history racism
has been centered on phenotypic differences between races such as skin color. Also, there was a
multitude of false information that was created by racism, for example, the claim that certain races
have the predisposition to be less intelligent than others. In 1994, Richard J. Herrnstein and Charles
Murray published The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life. This
controversial bestseller differences between races and classes were the result of differences in
inherited intelligence which could not be changed. This has caused many people in the scientific
community to question if the study of intelligence can remain societally neutral. Roberts... Show

These study methods allow researchers to look for similarities and differences within the genome of
individuals of different intelligence levels. Using single nucleotide polymorphism testing,
researchers are able to look at single base pairs within the genome and make comparisons within a
population. With the technology that has developed in the last few decades, the study of
intelligence has become much more complex and in depth which has allowed geneticists to see
trends that they have not seen before. POLYGENIC: With the new genetic study technologies of
the twenty first century, researchers are able to conduct genome wide analysis studies as well as
single nucleotide polymorphism studies which can be used to determine which genes, if any, code
for intelligence. A study by Benyamin et al. (2014) used single nucleotide polymorphism testing to
compare the genomes of 17,989 children. The authors looked for genes in which children of similar
intelligence shared many single nucleotide polymorphisms. However, the authors did not find any
single nucleotide polymorphisms that reached a genome wide significance value. Thus, the authors
concluded that this result points to intelligence being the result of the aggregate effect of many
genes within the genome and not just one specific mother gene . However, while

Theme Of Self-Determination In Through The Tunnel
Throughout the story Through the Tunnel, the most important theme that recurs is self
determination. The boy in the story, Jerry, has demonstrated this self determination by pushing
himself through tough situations. One of these situations was when Jerry saw the French boys
playing in the ocean. In the text, it said, To be with them, of them, was a craving that filled his
whole body. (244) This quote proves his determination because later on in the story, he then swam
toward them. Eventually, they started playing, and the boys yelled cheerful greetings at him. That s
when Jerry knew that he was welcomed in. Without his determination in this scene, Jerry wouldn t
have been able to play with the boys. Jerry demonstrates self determination in

The Middle Ages is often referred to as the Age of Faith and it is correct to do so, as during this

However philosophical disputes soon arose, this was known as the battle of Universals. One
position was called the Realist position. This was the idea that body and soul were separate. The
soul goes to its ideal realisation, heaven, there is no need to worry about the material world. The
opposing argument was known as the Nominalalist position, that physical were the only reality
(Robert E. Lamm 212). The middle ground between these two arguments was known as
Conceptualism, put forth by Peter Abelard, it suggests that reality as idea exists only in the
sense apparent object (Robert E. Lamm 213). Monasticism was a way of life for those who
thought everyday life too sinful, and decided to devote themselves to God, either communally in
the monastery or lavriote, a life of solitude. St Benedict around five hundred and forty AD set
down rules which were to become the basis for monastic life in the Catholic church; poverty,
obedience, chastity, and work. In these monasteries theology was preserved. A different form of
monasticism developed in Ireland due to the fact it was isolated from the rest of Europe. Monks
were more like the hermits of Egypt rather those of Roman Christianity. Scholarship developed in
these monasteries, also a new form of art called Hiberno Saxon. These monasteries kept literacy
skills alive. Monks would transcribe and decorate sacred texts by hand. Such texts include the

The three main forms of slang are abbreviations, comparisons and substitutions. Abbreviations
are the most common and usually the easiest to understand. Abbreviations are made by
shortening a word usually adding a vowel to the end of the word. For example Mc Donald s is
shortened to Macca s, barbeque is shortened to barbie, and Australia can be shortened to Straya
and Aussie. Some of these abbreviations are even adopted by their company, such as Mc
Donald s who now use Macca s in their advertisements. Comparisons are made in A E and are
usually used to create an odd or strange image of the event that is taking place. These
comparisons usually don t make any sense to outsiders and foreigners, which in part of why they
are used. For example flat out like a lizard drinking means when someone is very busy and is
struggling to get things done, the comparison of a lizard drinking is strange but can be a humorous
contrast with a busy person. A substitution in Australian slang is made by changing the word at the
end of a phrase into something that rhymes. For example, have a captain cook means to have a
look and dog and bone means phone . This form of slang is even more confusing then comparisons
to outsiders, although it is not used as much in modern

Ballerina On A Tightrope Essay
The opening line of this piece started as a daydream. My one impossible daydream of a really
graceful ballerina on a tightrope, it was a strange daydream. That line to me just kind of rolled
of the tongue, but it s impractical and could never happen, but I could only imagine the kind of
stress that the very pretty ballerina would be feeling up on the tightrope. I created the poem out
of a daydream but I ve been under that kind of impossible stress, or what felt like impossible
stress. Usually being thrown into the deep end is how my department teaches people, that s
mainly their form of trial by error, and it test how far they could push you until you either A) Fail
B) ask for help from people and fail or somehow C) pull it all off and on

A Multi Institutional Study Funded By The American Legacy...
Study 1 Sample As part of a multi institutional study funded by the American Legacy Foundation
(ALF), 743 undergraduates self identifying as Mexican American were recruited from college
campuses in California, Florida, New York, and Texas. The primary aim of the overall study was
to compare smoking related behaviors and attitudes across Hispanic subgroups (see American
Legacy Foundation, 2014; Hale, Perrotte, Baumann, Garza, in press). Participants completed an
online survey requiring up to fifty minutes to complete. Questions included items pertaining to
tobacco, alcohol, and drug usage, as well as numerous trait and attitudinal measures. For Study 1,
the sample was composed of bicultural Mexican American college students, operationalized as
those who scored 2.5 or higher on both domains of the BAS (MarГn Gamba, 1996). This resulted in
a sample of 335 individuals, which was further reduced to 309 when cases with missing data and
outliers were removed. Demographic information was collected as part of the survey. Fifty five
percent (n = 169) of the 309 respondents in the analyzed sample were female and 45% (n = 140)
were male. Approximately 69% of respondents (n = 212) reported that they were born in the
United States, while 27% (n = 85) indicated that they were born in Mexico; the remaining 4% (n =
12) indicated that they were born in some other country or did not indicate a country of birth.

John Locke And Rene Descartes
Philosophers are individuals who address critical analysis of fundamental assumptions or beliefs
with underlying theories of their own. John Locke and Rene Descartes were both classified as
modern philosophers in the seventeenth century who sums up the subject about personal identity
and its determents in reference to our own existence, such as who are we? The personal identity
theory states that the philosophical confrontation with the ultimate questions of our own existence,
such as who are we, and is there life after death? This investigation of personal identity specifies
adequate circumstances for the identity of the person over the period of time. In this assignment,
these two philosophers will be introduced thoroughly with a summary about each of them, their
similarities and differences, and personal views on which state that I would prefer.
John Locke (August 29, 1632 October 28, 1704) theory is that personal identity is a matter of
psychological continuity. He wrote an Essay Concerning Human Understanding which he signifies
in section 9 of personal identity and in section 10 of consciousness makes personal identity that
personal identity is a matter of being in the conscious state. He implied that if you remove
something from the body, such a finger or a leg. Even though it s not physically attached to the
body anymore, that doesn t change the personal identity of that person because that individual is
still himself. For example, let s look at the simplest parts of

Operation Overlord
To this day, the world s largest invasion occurred on June 6, 1944. Operation Overlord, also
known as D day, needed to go well for the Allies because Germany had the French coast under
their own power. The United Kingdom preferred the idea of going to a weaker part of Germany s
territory such as Italy. America thought of a better plan; invade directly where Germany was,
France. The three big leaders of the Allies (Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin),
came to an agreement to invade France directly. They thought that an invasion at France would split
the German Army in two parts. The planning for D day took more than two years. As General
Dwight D. Eisenhower said, This operation is not being planned with any alternatives.... Show more

The German leaders had made the most mistakes during the invasion of Normandy. When Germany
was aware that the Allies were invading, the German commanders were absent from their post of
duty. One had taken off the weekend to celebrate his wife s birthday. Adolf Hitlerwas also asleep
when the invasion started. The German commanders were given the order not to wake him no
matter what the reason was. None of the commanders knew what to do, and did not want to
make decisions without consulting Hitler first. Germany had lost a lot of time waiting for
Hitler to wake up. When he finally woke up and was made aware of what was going on, he
thought it was just a diversionary attack. He told his commanders to be ready for the real one
soon. If a country is fighting in a war, they should have their troops ready at a minutes notice.
Germany diverted some of the troops to a different area because they thought that they were
going to invade somewhere else. They assumed that this place would be closer to England. A
place near England was considered because Germany knew that the Allies would have to transport
a large quantity of weapons and troops for the invasion. The Allies would have to transport the
weapons and troops in a small amount of time. The Allies had chosen Normandy for a reason that
will be explained later. These were some of the basic mistakes that Germany

Body Shape Of Beauty
In America, beauty has high, superficial standards. Women are especially expected to have the
perfect body shape: tall and thin with a small waist, big breasts, and a big butt. In reality, only
about 5% of the American population has the ideal body shape (CITE). However, women do not
randomly come up with these issues of their bodies out of the blue. Media plays a large role in
the standards set for women. Magazines, television, and social media all use Photoshop or some
other editing software to make women look perfect . The standards set for women in particular
are unrealistic and are in turn making young girls have serious self esteem issues. These standards
need to be shattered because America needs to embrace all body shapes and promote self love
instead of self hate. The ideal body shapefor women has changed over the years. Until the 1900s,
being curvy and voluptuous was striven for. During the late 1800s to early 1900s, the Gibson
Girl body was all the rage. These women were the ones that started the tiny waist trend, using
corsets to tighten their stomachs. The tiny waist was paired with a big bust to emphasize the
fragile, but curvy body. The 1920s went for more of a lean figure with a short, bob haircut.
During the 40s and 50s, pin up models became very popular. Marilyn Monroe was the most
iconic female of this time. Her body was nowhere near perfect and was fuller. However, these
times were much like the times now, except that artists would draw the model and give her
longer legs, a bigger bust, etc. Today, we have photoshop to do that for us. Once the 1960s hit,
being thin started trending. Twiggy was the style icon of the decade, with her twig thin body and
pixie cut hair. This is still a big trend today. However in recent years, plus size women have started
to be more accepted. With that being said, the plus size women that magazines show are not truly
plus sized, but just a bit larger than the super skinny models. Although men are not in the limelight
as much as women are, they still have undergone changing beauty standards as well. Men have also
gone through body shape trends. During the late 1800s to early 1900s, bigger was better. The
heavier a man was, the more attractive

Suffering In Into Thin Air
According to Friedrich Nietzsche, a famous German scholar and philosopher, To live is to suffer, to
survive is to find some meaning in the suffering, After reading the memoir, Into Thin Air, by Jon
Krakauer, the message is evident that one of the main themes of the story is suffering. Immediately
to begin the story, the narrator, Jon Krakauer, is standing upon the peak of Mt. Everest.
Immediately this poses a lot of questions as to how he got there and the pain he must have went
through because there is no easy journey to take to climb a mountain. Krakauer and his guides take
a risk but suffer through the pain to come out on top. Even though he had to suffer at times, it was
all worth it in the end when he accomplished what many people couldn t do. Climbing a mountain
cannot be easy and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is very limited oxygen when the climbers are that high in the air. In chapter 8 of the book
there is dialogue and it is Are you not feeling good, Jon? he mocked. This is only Camp One, six
thousand meters. The air is still very thick. Jon was already becoming tired and not feeling good.
Because the air is minimal, they must use oxygen tanks. These oxygen tanks can run out of
oxygen at any time and when they do, it causes a lot of suffering for the climbers. When they can
t breathe they have absolutely no strength to keep themselves going. Even though they may be
able to last a little bit of time without it, they are suffering because it takes all the energy out of
their body just to do the simplest task of breathing. In chapter 8 is when they are really hiking and
realizing how tough this climb would truly be. The book states, By the time he arrived at the tents
that afternoon Ngawang was delirious, stumbling like a drunk, and coughing up pink, blood laced
froth, (pg.106). The imagery that the author gives us just from this sentence really helps the reader
imagine just how the characters are feeling. Also, logically they are suffering

Political issues on Student Loans As a student who has difficulties affording increasingly high
tuition in college, financial aid and student loans is one of the biggest concerns for me. Even
though with a low interest rate of student loans, it is still hard to pay back the debt after graduation.
As in recent years, the cost of universities in America has rose to such a level that it has exceeded
the rate of inflation. (Walker) According to CNBC, America has more than $1.2 trillion of student
loan debt, what s more, about 10 million federal student loans are taken out annually. (Orman) Face
on such a huge threat to the economy, in the meanwhile, recently there are some debates happening
that has influenced the interest rate of student loans. During recent years, the American government
has been in charge of lots of programs designed to assist students, such as providing student loans.
In the United States, there are two kinds of student loans. One is federal student loans and the other
one is called Private Loan. Federal Student loans also have three different types, which are Stafford

The Universe, a seemingly endless void, with small amounts of space (which the Universe has
A LOT of) occupying planets, stars, and other, equally terrifying celestial bodies. Science fiction
would imply that, at light speed, you could reach the Sun s neighboring star in mere seconds, but
in reality, and at twice the speed of light, a trip that far would take two years. Science fiction
would also allude to the idea that traveling through an asteroid belt is dangerous, that is also
false. In fact, there is a lot of science fiction in media. But, rarely any in any book, game, or

I actually REALLY enjoyed this book. I received the novel as a gift from a family friend over the
summer but only really got around to reading it recently and, I have to say, I have never read
anything quite this unique.
The meaning of life is plot number 2 in the book, and, it was equally as entertaining as the
mischief that transpired between Arthur and his gang, consisting of Ford Perfect, an alien named
Zaphod, and another alien by the name of Trillian. To sum THIS plot line up, two hyper
intelligent beings (named MICE ) create a superior supercomputer with the processing
capabilities of nothing discovered before, they ask the computer what the meaning of life is, and
it reveals that it will take a few billion years to process a coherent answer. When the answer is
finally processed, it is than revealed that a more powerful computer is out there somewhere. That
computer is Earth, and, yadda yadda, Earth was annihilated five minutes before it was finished
processing, causing the mice to want Arthur s brain so the true nature of life can be revealed to them.
It was hard to find a significant passage in this piece, because there are so many side plots and
important pieces, but, I think an important piece would be.

Propaganda eat. But we have chosen the opposite method, that of open competition. We must find a
way to make free competition function with reasonable smoothness. To achieve this society has
consented to permit free competition to be organized by leadership and propaganda. Some of the
phenomena of this process are criticized the manipulation of news, the inflation of personality, and
the general ballyhoo by which politicians and commercial products and social ideas are brought to
the consciousness of the masses. The instruments by which public opinion is organized and focused

What Is Free Will In The Odyssey
Bayley Neville
Dr. Roberts
English 235
October 5, 2015
Free Will or Fate? How does Odysseus decline Circe s offer to become immortal? How does Don
Quixote become a knight? Was it free will or fate? Some may say that the Odyssey is completely
fate based and Don Quixote is entirely based on free will, but the two hold more similarities than
you may realize. Homer, the writer of The Odyssey, focuses mainly on the god s influence of
Odysseus s travels home. Miguel De Cervantes, writer of Don Quixote, uses Quixote s imagination
and decisions to motivate travel. Although they bear some minor similarities, the differences
between The Odyssey and Don Quixote are pronounced. Before discussing the similarities I
would like to go over the differences between the two. In the Odyssey, the gods are responsible
for controlling almost the entire story. They are the reason he gets captured and held for eight
years. They are the cause of the storm that nearly drags Odysseus out to sea. They play a very
important role in this poem. Don Quixote is written much differently than The Odyssey. Don
Quixote has much more freedom to choose what happens in his life. He decides to become a
knight and travel all over. He set off on a journey to help other and to earn his knighthood. He
does this at his own free will, something that Odysseus did not have. Odysseus did not decide to
get held for eight years and then suddenly be released to journey home. This proves that The
Odyssey and Don Quixote are

Immigration Assimilation
America is largely made up of immigrants, and thus it is referred to by many as an immigrant s
nation. The rise in immigrants of the first generation and those of second or third generation is
changing the demographics of the United States each day. Duncan and Stephen observe that about a
quarter of U.S. residents are either first generation immigrants or the second generation children of
immigrants (109). Most of these immigrants move to the country with the aim of achieving the
American dream through career success. We would like to believe that the nation follows through
with its American ideology that immigrants are welcomed with open arms, and they will have
economic opportunities. However, the process of integration and assimilation of these immigrants
has for long been a common debate question. The immigration waves into the United Stateshave
occurred in several waves over the past years. In the earlier years, most of the immigrants were
from Europe and their assimilation was rather smooth. But, the recent wave of immigrants groups
prevalently from Asia and Latin America do not face similar acceptance and open arms as their
predecessors.
Additionally, the aspirations of most immigrants are that they will have upward mobility when they
get into the United States, but unfortunately, in several instances, they may face unexpected
downward mobility. Downward mobility may occur due to many factors. The socioeconomic
mobility of immigrants is largely determined by the

Diffusion Water Lab
Properties of Water Lab
In the diffusion experiment, we sought to understand how diffusion works across a plasma
membrane by simulating a caterpillar consuming plants. My hypothesis was: If we test the
diffusion using Lugol s solution, we will find the dialysis tube to be semipermeable. We used
three beakers: one small beaker, and two larger beakers, as well as dialysis tubes, clamps, two
pipettes, starch, Lugol, test strips (to test the glucose level), and amylase.
Starch (representing a plant) was put into a small beaker; the grayish white color was recorded
and the test strips revealed the glucose level to be normal. Amylase was added to the small beaker
as well, and the mixture was stirred. The color of the solution became clear and the glucose level
was recorded to be 250 mg/dL. The end of one of the dialysis tubes was sealed with the dialysis ...

The Lugol diffused from its place of high concentration (in the water) to that of low concentration
(dialysis tube that contained no lugol). This experiment showed how diffusion works across a
semipermeable membrane. If the dialysis tube was impermeable then the starch would not have
changed colors, but because it was semipermeable the lugol was able to diffuse through the tube
and change the color of the starch. While observing the control bag we found the color of the water
to be unaltered. The starch molecules were unable to cross the membrane, proving that the tube was
semi permeable. In conclusion, the results of the experiment not only demonstrates diffusion but
also displays how permeable membranes, such as a dialysis tube, can be. The results support my
hypothesis. The glucose level changed in the experiment from 250 to 100 proving that the tube
allowed glucose in, but was impermeable to starch. The experiment reflected the results of
biological simulation: glucose molecules crossing membranes into the intestinal

The advent of high altitude reconnaissance, to include aerial and satellite platforms, had at least as
much impact on US intelligence efforts as the Ultra SIGINT intelligence program had on Allied
intelligence efforts during World War II possibly even greater. The Iron Curtain of the Cold War

The Olympic Games are a worldwide competition that brings people of different cultures and
backgrounds into one united area where they compete in their specialized sports. These events,
however, are not purely entertainment like they should have been. Today s societies are more
dependent on politics and therefore so are sports and the athletes competing, sometimes even
without their own will. In various occasions across the world politics was the main reason for
athletes to withdraw from athletic events such as the world cup, Olympics, and any other
worldwide or region wide competitions. On the other hand politics sometimes are the reason that
some teams re establish themselves and get back into the world scene in sports. This two sided...

government was not always morally right. During this time the U.S. send troops to Vietnam to fight

Intro to Evidence: In this quote it underlines that one of the many mistakes the government was the
Kent State shooting which killed four people.
Evidence: Cause the players tried to take the field. The marching band refused to yield. Do you
recall what was revealed. The day the music died? (American Pie)

wanting change, which strengthens why the American people were angered by the injustice. The
Kent State shooting like many sad events during the 20th century had meaningful impact on people
who contributed to change, which gathers the idea of corrupt morality. Many songs during this time
were on the worst sides of the American government and the actions that led to death, which
represents how inspiring songs were during this time.
Conclusion: Music of the 20th century had a desire for change that people were intrigued by that

The Return Of Martin Guerre Analysis
Natalie Zemon Davis The Return of Martin Guerre tells the true story of a peasant named Martin
Guerre, who was at the center of a famous case of imposture in France in the sixteenth century.
Davis takes the facts of this famous case from two primary sources including a book written by
one of the trial judges of the case in Toulouse, Jean de Coras, called Arreste Memorable and one
by a lawyer, Guillaume La Sueur, called Admiranda Historia. Davis uses other secondary sources to
add details about peasant life including information about marriage, family, economics, religion,
village social structure, as well as the political structure of the time. Davis moves beyond the facts
and tries to interpret and understand the motivations of the characters in the story. For example,
she assumes that Bertrande silently agreed to the fraud of Arnaud du Tilh because she wanted a
husband and could not remarry after her husband abandoned her. This seems more believable to me
than Bertrande just being stupid or naive and not knowing the difference between her husband and
a stranger. In the preface of the book she admits she was generating not proofs, but historical
possibilities (Davis, viii). I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What Is The Theme Of The Moon Lady By Amy Tan Summary
To be lost is to lose all hope. To lose all your aspirations. To surrender all your dreams. Just
because your lost, it doesn t mean that you will not be found. In Amy Tan s The Moon Lady, Ying
Ying, the main protagonist, fights with herself and with her culture. Ying ying is longing to be
found to be reunited with her familyand with herself. At a youthful age, Ying ying s childish belief
in personal fate and destiny later on led to a rule of passivity and listlessness. Ying ying realizes
that she has passed on to her daughter the same indifference and passivity that she has
experienced growing up. Just like a broken bond, Ying ying tries to sew her life back together, but
she uses her past pains to tear it again. Tan argues that just because the strands of your life are torn,
it doesn t mean that you can t sew your life together again.
Ying Ying grew up in a society that discriminated certain behaviors between different genders.
Females in her society were forced to act a certain way; subjected to a lifetime of discrimination.
Males were cherished to the family, not only for their physical, substantial, and economic ability,
but also as the carrier of the family name. In this story, Ying ying isn t allowed to run and chase

her shadow. The words still , hide , and shadow in this quote symbolize the image that women are

Teen Pregnancy Rates Have Reached An All Time High
Did you know that today teen pregnancy rates have reached an all time high in the United States?
According to a healthcare organization called, Family Planning Plus, about 750,000 American
teenage girls get pregnant annually, to date. In consequence, high schools around the country have
taken a decision to step up and take an action in decreasing the rate of teen pregnancy. Becoming a

there are many types of birth controlfound in schools across the country; however most parents and
administrations are having trouble accepting the distribution of contraception in educational

  • 3. A Discussion On Expressing Yourself Expressing yourself When anyone mentions the deep web, the public usually thinks of the dark place in the internet where crimes and conspiracy theories take place. To begin, the internet is split into two sections called the Clearnet and deep web. Clearnet are websites that are indexed like, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Clearnet websites are easily accessible due to the high ranking in popularity. The Deep web is still part of the internet, to be more specific the deep web holds 95% of the internet content and the Clearnet contains only 5%, which is roughly x500 the content. This is because web crawlers ( a software that indexes websites) cannot index websites that requires a form authentication ( Email and password). Another way websites are not indexed is with the robot.txt file. The robot.txt file is a line that web developers can incorporate when developing a website that does not want to be indexed. The deep web is not the dark web but, the dark web is a small part of the deep web. Dark web uses software like Freenet, Jondo, Ip2, Alienet, Tails OS, and the most famous software, Tor to access websites anonymously ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A place near England was considered because Germany knew that the Allies would have to transport a large quantity of weapons and troops for the invasion. The Allies would have to transport the weapons and troops in a small amount of time. The Allies had chosen Normandy for a reason that will be explained later. These were some of the basic mistakes that Germany ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Body Shape Of Beauty In America, beauty has high, superficial standards. Women are especially expected to have the perfect body shape: tall and thin with a small waist, big breasts, and a big butt. In reality, only about 5% of the American population has the ideal body shape (CITE). However, women do not randomly come up with these issues of their bodies out of the blue. Media plays a large role in the standards set for women. Magazines, television, and social media all use Photoshop or some other editing software to make women look perfect . The standards set for women in particular are unrealistic and are in turn making young girls have serious self esteem issues. These standards need to be shattered because America needs to embrace all body shapes and promote self love instead of self hate. The ideal body shapefor women has changed over the years. Until the 1900s, being curvy and voluptuous was striven for. During the late 1800s to early 1900s, the Gibson Girl body was all the rage. These women were the ones that started the tiny waist trend, using corsets to tighten their stomachs. The tiny waist was paired with a big bust to emphasize the fragile, but curvy body. The 1920s went for more of a lean figure with a short, bob haircut. During the 40s and 50s, pin up models became very popular. Marilyn Monroe was the most iconic female of this time. Her body was nowhere near perfect and was fuller. However, these times were much like the times now, except that artists would draw the model and give her longer legs, a bigger bust, etc. Today, we have photoshop to do that for us. Once the 1960s hit, being thin started trending. Twiggy was the style icon of the decade, with her twig thin body and pixie cut hair. This is still a big trend today. However in recent years, plus size women have started to be more accepted. With that being said, the plus size women that magazines show are not truly plus sized, but just a bit larger than the super skinny models. Although men are not in the limelight as much as women are, they still have undergone changing beauty standards as well. Men have also gone through body shape trends. During the late 1800s to early 1900s, bigger was better. The heavier a man was, the more attractive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Suffering In Into Thin Air According to Friedrich Nietzsche, a famous German scholar and philosopher, To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering, After reading the memoir, Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer, the message is evident that one of the main themes of the story is suffering. Immediately to begin the story, the narrator, Jon Krakauer, is standing upon the peak of Mt. Everest. Immediately this poses a lot of questions as to how he got there and the pain he must have went through because there is no easy journey to take to climb a mountain. Krakauer and his guides take a risk but suffer through the pain to come out on top. Even though he had to suffer at times, it was all worth it in the end when he accomplished what many people couldn t do. Climbing a mountain cannot be easy and... In chapter 8 of the book there is dialogue and it is Are you not feeling good, Jon? he mocked. This is only Camp One, six thousand meters. The air is still very thick. Jon was already becoming tired and not feeling good. Because the air is minimal, they must use oxygen tanks. These oxygen tanks can run out of oxygen at any time and when they do, it causes a lot of suffering for the climbers. When they can t breathe they have absolutely no strength to keep themselves going. Even though they may be able to last a little bit of time without it, they are suffering because it takes all the energy out of their body just to do the simplest task of breathing. In chapter 8 is when they are really hiking and realizing how tough this climb would truly be. The book states, By the time he arrived at the tents that afternoon Ngawang was delirious, stumbling like a drunk, and coughing up pink, blood laced froth, (pg.106). The imagery that the author gives us just from this sentence really helps the reader imagine just how the characters are feeling. Also, logically they are suffering ... Even though with a low interest rate of student loans, it is still hard to pay back the debt after graduation. As in recent years, the cost of universities in America has rose to such a level that it has exceeded the rate of inflation. • 33. What Is Free Will In The Odyssey Bayley Neville Dr. Roberts English 235 October 5, 2015 Free Will or Fate? How does Odysseus decline Circe s offer to become immortal? How does Don Quixote become a knight? Was it free will or fate? Some may say that the Odyssey is completely fate based and Don Quixote is entirely based on free will, but the two hold more similarities than you may realize. Homer, the writer of The Odyssey, focuses mainly on the god s influence of Odysseus s travels home. Miguel De Cervantes, writer of Don Quixote, uses Quixote s imagination and decisions to motivate travel. Although they bear some minor similarities, the differences between The Odyssey and Don Quixote are pronounced. Before discussing the similarities I would like to go over the differences between the two. In the Odyssey, the gods are responsible for controlling almost the entire story. They are the reason he gets captured and held for eight years. They are the cause of the storm that nearly drags Odysseus out to sea. They play a very important role in this poem. Don Quixote is written much differently than The Odyssey. Don Quixote has much more freedom to choose what happens in his life. He decides to become a knight and travel all over. He set off on a journey to help other and to earn his knighthood. He does this at his own free will, something that Odysseus did not have. Odysseus did not decide to get held for eight years and then suddenly be released to journey home. This proves that The Odyssey and Don Quixote are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The rise in immigrants of the first generation and those of second or third generation is changing the demographics of the United States each day. Duncan and Stephen observe that about a quarter of U.S. residents are either first generation immigrants or the second generation children of immigrants (109). Most of these immigrants move to the country with the aim of achieving the American dream through career success. We would like to believe that the nation follows through with its American ideology that immigrants are welcomed with open arms, and they will have economic opportunities. However, the process of integration and assimilation of these immigrants has for long been a common debate question. The immigration waves into the United Stateshave occurred in several waves over the past years. In the earlier years, most of the immigrants were from Europe and their assimilation was rather smooth. But, the recent wave of immigrants groups prevalently from Asia and Latin America do not face similar acceptance and open arms as their predecessors. Additionally, the aspirations of most immigrants are that they will have upward mobility when they get into the United States, but unfortunately, in several instances, they may face unexpected downward mobility. We used three beakers: one small beaker, and two larger beakers, as well as dialysis tubes, clamps, two pipettes, starch, Lugol, test strips (to test the glucose level), and amylase. Starch (representing a plant) was put into a small beaker; the grayish white color was recorded and the test strips revealed the glucose level to be normal. The Lugol diffused from its place of high concentration (in the water) to that of low concentration (dialysis tube that contained no lugol). This experiment showed how diffusion works across a semipermeable membrane. If the dialysis tube was impermeable then the starch would not have changed colors, but because it was semipermeable the lugol was able to diffuse through the tube and change the color of the starch. While observing the control bag we found the color of the water to be unaltered. The starch molecules were unable to cross the membrane, proving that the tube was semi permeable. In conclusion, the results of the experiment not only demonstrates diffusion but also displays how permeable membranes, such as a dialysis tube, can be. The results support my hypothesis. • 40. The Return Of Martin Guerre Analysis Natalie Zemon Davis The Return of Martin Guerre tells the true story of a peasant named Martin Guerre, who was at the center of a famous case of imposture in France in the sixteenth century. Davis takes the facts of this famous case from two primary sources including a book written by one of the trial judges of the case in Toulouse, Jean de Coras, called Arreste Memorable and one by a lawyer, Guillaume La Sueur, called Admiranda Historia. Davis uses other secondary sources to add details about peasant life including information about marriage, family, economics, religion, village social structure, as well as the political structure of the time. Davis moves beyond the facts and tries to interpret and understand the motivations of the characters in the story. For example, she assumes that Bertrande silently agreed to the fraud of Arnaud du Tilh because she wanted a husband and could not remarry after her husband abandoned her. This seems more believable to me than Bertrande just being stupid or naive and not knowing the difference between her husband and a stranger. From Gangas Khan to America s involvement in the Middle East, all successful generals, military leaders, and conquerors have found commonality in their zealous emphasis on, and desire for, possessing the most technologically advanced forms of weaponry. Such a desire was not ignored in America nor England during the Industrial Revolution, but, rather, was seen by many as an opportune investment during a time of extraordinarily progressive innovation. With this in mind the Industrial Revolution became heavily involved with the advancement of weaponry, forever changing the face of warunlike any era before it.
