Sandy Hook Shooting Research Paper
In particular, the shooting has brought attention to school safety throughout the country and
beyond, has contributed to children s fears, and possibly inspired future generations of shooters.
The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting affected the country s thoughts on school safety in
a way that perhaps no other event has. President Obama wiped away a tear as he spoke in
Washington Friday. We ve endured too many of these tragedies in the past few years, he said. We
are going to have to come together to take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this
regardless of the politics. (Shock). The people and citizens of this country wanted to be comforted
by a trusted government official, so President Barack Obama delivered a speech about gun violence
just after the shooting. The only way this time will be different is if the American people demand
that this time it must be different, that this time we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s now been just over 100 days since the murder of 20 innocent children and 6 brave educators in
Newtown, Connecticut, an event that shocked this country and, I think, galvanized parents all
across the country to say, we ve got to do something more to protect our kids. But consider this:
Over those 100 days or so, more than 100 times as many Americans have fallen victim to gun
violence. (Obama). The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting shocked and scared the country.
If these reforms keep one person from murdering dozens of innocent children or worshippers or
moviegoers in a span of minutes, isn t it worth fighting for? I believe it is. (Obama). Sandy Hook
Elementary School was able to incorporate and express what was happening in the world, as well

Religion In John Portier s The Dead Man Walking
Whether we agree with religious people or their critics or simply don t know, the near universal
appeal, the persistence and the transforming power of religions are intriguing, Portier once said.
People are always intrigued by religion. Even if people do not have a faith or religion, they are
intrigued about the power of religionand are searching for answers. Portier defined religion in
terms of life s greatest questions. People are always questioning the supernatural. The definition
of religion relates to the Dead Man walking in many ways. The one way I am going to relate this to
is Joey. Before Sister Helen came into his life, he had no faithin Godand didn t believe. Once Sister
Helen started to believe in him and pushed him to start... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was something that he was not proud of and did not want to admit. When Joey finally did
own up to his mistakes, you could tell that he was genuinely sorry for what he did. Also when he
apologized, he showed a new side of himself because he was opening himself up to God. Another
downfall that Joey had was in the beginning he was not into questioning his religion at all and he
did not want to be forgiven for his mistakes. These examples showed a lack of participation in
religion according to the definition of the Catholic intellectual tradition that Portier

General Motors in China
General Motors Company in China Huseyin Akbulut Southern New Hampshire University Abstract
This paper aims to explore the cultural barriers that GM encounters while doing business in China
especially in terms of language and Asian mind difference. As a matter of fact, we cannot examine
all the cultural barriers due to the scope of the paper. On the other hand, some differences emerging
from different thinking behavior between US and China are exemplified in the second part of the
paper. In the first part, the company information and the SWOT analysis of GM are given before
going further with the Asian operations of the company. A Company Information: First of all,

The reason of the increasing sales is increasing sales of Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac. The target
of 2 million car sales is achieved according to GM website as of November 2010. (GM fact sheet,
GM website 2010) GM has a dreadful strategic alliance with Daewoo Company (GM Daewoo) in
South Korea as far as the Asian Pacific market concerned like the case indicated. GM Daewoo
has started to increase sales, yet, it needs way to go. GM Daewoo is the low cost production
base with its facilities in South Korea and Vietnam for some GM brands such as Hummer and
Saturn and Opel of European Operations. The subsidiary made some moves to expand its
operations in Europe by purchasing former Uzbekistan and Romania plants of Daewoo and Polish
car maker Fabryka SamochodГіw Osobowych (FSO) (GM Daewo Company overview, Hoovers

General Motors Company through which the dealers of GM offers credits or lease financing,
vehicle insurance and extended service contracts (10 K annual report, 2010 April 7, GM

the old GM Company. Yet, GMAC is not wholly owned by GM since 2006. GMAC agreed with
Chrysler to provide auto finance services for the Chrysler dealers in 2009, which made the
company to leverage its core strength of auto financing. On the

Nurses Attitudes Toward Euthanasia
These variables are very important to understanding the population and addressing trends, but do
these results still stand when compared to those who work in the field? Is there proper
generalizability for these variables? The article, The Diverse Influence of Religion and World View
on Palliative Care Nurses Attitudes towards Euthanasia, addresses how a nurse s religionand
worldview effect their mindset in their career. Specifically, the researchers are studying how
religious beliefs have an impact on nurses and if so, what specific factor is the most important in
influencing these opinions. To study this correlation, the researchers gathered information from a
previous quantitative study that was conducted in 2006. This study collected... Show more content

However, another factor could be influencing that data. It is unclear when the data from each
article analyzed was published and it could be misleading trying to compare articles from different
years; so, it is important to understand how these opinions, along with religion, have developed
over time and how they respond to one another. The article, Attitudes towards legalising physician
provided euthanasia in Britain: The role of religion over time, aims to analyze the change in support
for euthanasia over time in comparison to the change in religion and religiosity among the
population. The researchers noted that previous studies have indicated the relationships between
religiosity and denomination with negative attitudes towards physician assisted suicide and
euthanasia. To further hypothesize, the researchers concluded that an individual s opinion on these
two topics may also be swayed by their personal satisfaction with the health care system. To gather
data, the researchers used the British Social Attitudes survey. In this study, they used the years
1983, 1984, 1989, 1994, 2005, and 2012 for their analysis due to the availability of relevant
questions. A variety of question types were chosen to gauge certain variables, such as nominal for
attitudes toward physician assisted and ordinal for religion, which were separated into the

The Bling Rings ( Sofia Coppola Essay

film The Bling Rings (Sofia Coppola, 2013)
The aim of this essay is to demonstrate the ways in which class is represented and contested today,
with a references to the film The Bling Rings (Sofia Coppola, 2013). This paper will analyse the
different types of class within America, referencing from different academic books to support the
analysis.
The Bling Rings (Sofia Coppola, 2013) is a film based on the true story of the robberies that
took place in Los Angeles, California. A group of teenagers obsessed with the celebrity life style
and social media break in to celebrities house such Pairs Hilton and Audrina Patridge. The
benefit of this approach is that this chosen film is very modern and represents a wide range of
class. As well as showing the down side to social media and the celebrity culture, which is
glamorize within the media. This films shows a different side to working class, middle class and
upper class people based in California. The ideology of the main group of teenagers in this film are
represented to be working class.
Antonio Gramsci developed the concept Hegemony, the hegemony of a political class meant for
Gramsci that that class had succeeded in persuading the other classes of society to accept its own
moral, political and cultural values. (Strinati, 1995, p153) The evidence of that the class except its

My Life In The Country
My life in the country was simple, I did not have to work as a paperboy, my father was actually
alive at that time, and I got to see my mother more often. My life is very different now because of
the war. It was November 11, 1918, school was canceled everywhere and the streets were
crowded with people of every race cheering. I was excited, but then I remembered my father
playing baseball with my brothers and me in the front yard before the war even started. Nice
catch, he would say as I snagged the pop up. I can still picture with clarity his voice as he spoke.
He was the bravest man there was. He enlisted right when the war started. Ma was against it, but
he wanted to help the country. This was when we had to leave or country life behind and move
to the big city. New York was where we were headed and I was pretty bummed about leaving all
my friends behind. A change of scenery brought much excitement to me, though. Talk about
drive to new york here. Wow, I said as i saw all the different people passing. Buildings of all
shapes and sizes were around us. I saw a particularly strange building which was almost
completely flat. We arrived at the apartment we were going to stay in. I didn t say it out loud,
but I think all of us were thinking of how small the room was. One day passed in the new home.
There were a lot of things i liked there, but it was loud and crowded. The next day, I visited my
school. There were a lot more kids there than at

Example Of Assimilation In America
Assimilation in America
In American society, there are multiple cultures and races exist. Since immigrants bring the various
cultures to America, Americans face a highly controversial problem. Some of the Americans
believe all of the ethnic groups assimilate into a common culture can help Americans distinctly
identify themselves. Others argue that ethnic groups should not abandon their cultural heritages
background. As a result, merging different cultures into one new culturewill cause America lose its
cultural diversity which is one significant charm of this country. On the contrary, if every ethnic
group only focuses on building their own community and resists communicate with others, it will
aggravate the separation of a nation. Although people often argue about these two ways which one
is more appropriate to Americans, I think Richard Rodriguez s idea is more realistic in nowadays
American society. Rodriguez resists the idea of the melting pot, and believes that assimilation is
inevitable and reciprocal. In the essay Does America Still Exist?, Rodriguez explains his thought to
us through his experiences.
First, Rodriguez thinks the old metaphor of a melting pot is no longer accepted by Americans. He
indicates that As much as the country is joined in a common culture, however, Americans are
reluctant to celebrate the process of assimilation. We pledge allegiance to diversity. (Paragraph 7)
To clarify, when a single culture assimilates into a common culture, the

power, which I ve decided to call Gamer allows me to see my stats like a video game. It shows me

effort to use all these abilities. I love them, and I believe that these abilities were made for me but

Gluteal Region Research Paper
The gluteal region is an anatomical area located posteriorly to the pelvic girdle, at the proximal end
of the femur. The muscles in this region move the lower limb at the hip joint. The gluteal muscle is
composed of three muscles that make up the buttocks: Gluteus Maximus, Gluteus Medius, and
Gluteus Minimus. They are supplied by the gluteal nerves and vessels, which reach them through
the greater sciatic foramen. The gluteus maximus is the largest of the gluteal muscles and one of
the strongest muscles in the human body. The gluteus medius is the second largest gluteal muscle
and gluteus minimus is the smallest. The three gluteal muscles (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius

An Analysis Of Punishment, By Seamus Heaney
Poets have rarely shown a perspective as dubious on the atrocities of the Irish Republican Army as
Seamus Heaney has done in his poem Punishment . Heaney succeeds in uniting two contradictory
perspectives by comparing the cruelty of an ancient time fluently with contemporary barbarism. By
viewing contemporary violence through the lens of Iron Age customs, he untangles the harsh truth
of human nature. Unlike other essays, which have focussed primarily on the historical background,
this essay will analyse the lexical aspects that colour these former and present times. By looking at
the extensive use of lexical oppositions and poetic devices, one can see the many layers Heaney has
used, which is important to underscore the contrasting structures... Show more content on

The poem is enjambed across both lines and stanzas, which allows the reader to flow along in an
evolvement of thoughts. Moreover, past and present seem to merge smoothly since he easily
draws parallels between the ritual sacrifice from the Iron Age and the killings by IRA at the
time. The speaker moves from a detached observer to a puzzled participant, who senses the
linkage between the socialized violence of ancient and contemporary times. Other tools used to
link words, and thus meanings, together and to increase the fluency of the text are alliterations
and assonances. The dark sentiment in this poem is carried on a system of clear alliteration:
halter, nape, her neck, her naked and her nipples in the first stanza, a case of double alliteration,
and rigging her ribs , body in the bog , stones of silence , shaved head like a stubble , blindfold of a
soiled bandage . Assonance is used abundantly in the third paragraph. Furthermore, the poem is
written in iambic pentameter without rhyme. This rhythmic form also aids to create a continuous
flow throughout the eleven four line

Should The Federal Reserve Bank Drop Its Interest Rate
In a world where overseas central banks in Japan and Europe are lowering interest rates and in
some cases keeping rates negative, the Federal Reserve Bank (The Fed), is faced with a series
of tradeoffs. For example if the U.S. is the only major economy to raise rates then we may attract
money from overseas investors who are seeking yield. Sounds good, right? But the flip side is that
as this happens, our currency will appreciate and when it does, it costs more for overseas
consumers to buy our goods. This hurts our exporters and eventually will weaken our economy.
3) The central or treasury bank should drop its interest rate immediately or soon after the tax cuts to
control interest rates from commercial banks and inflation. (However a decrease ... Show more

We have thus seen that increase in money supply lowers the rate of interest which then stimulates
more investment demand. Increase in investment demand through multiplier process leads to a
greater increase in aggregate demand and national income.
If the economy suffers from inflation, the Government will like to check it. Then its Central Bank
should adopt tight or contractionary monetary policy. To control inflation the Central Bank of a
country can reduce money supply through open market operations by selling bonds or government
securities in the open market and in return gets currency funds from those who buy the bonds. In
this way liquidity in the banking system can be reduced.
To reduce money supply for fighting inflation the Central Bank can also raise cash reserve ratio of
the banks. The higher cash reserve ratio implies that the banks have to keep more cash reserve with
the Central Bank. As a result, the cash reserves with the banks fall which force them to contract
credit. With this money supply in the economy

Analysis Of RIDE By Eric Lane
On November 18, 2017, I saw the Richland College Theatre Department s production of RIDE
by Eric Lane. In this essay, I will express what we re the exceptional things that I saw. Also, I will
use terms from what I learned from class, to explain some factors that I interpreted from the play.
Starting off, I love this play, it was hilarious but serious at the same time, it had this dark twist and
I believe it was tragic comedy, it had the whole audiencecaptivated and I felt like the message of the
playwas meet with everyone in the room. There was moments that happen throughout the play
that explain those dark twisted moments that made people laugh but didn t realize the deeper
meaning to it: Sam, is Carrie little sister and she has so much energy, and when Carrie and
Molly fight and they start yelling at each other, she will sit down and keep distance from them
and starts naming state birds, for me I felt like the fighting made Sam uncomfortable so in order
to cope with it, she names state birds to stir her concentration to something else. A lot of tragic
moments happen to the characters, and all got a moment to express how they felt and how they
are handling with hard moments of their life s, specially Carrie, where there would be sudden
scenes where the spotlight would hit her and she gets a moment to talk about certain things she
feels of the death of her father. The humor of RIDE, gives an uplifting mood to the play, and it s all

The Apprenticeship Of Duddy Kravitz Essay
The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz by Mordecai Richler is the tale of a young greedy boy
who feels that money is his path to happiness and pride. Duddy simply stomps all over his
friends and his family as well (to a certain extent). Richler feels unreserved sympathy towards
Duddy because, in essence, Duddy is Richler written down and diversified. Duddy is a character
based on Mordecai s own personality.
Duddy Kravitz is a crook, a blackmailer and a cheat. However, Duddy Kravitz is Richler s crook
and Duddy will never be abandoned. In The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, everyone but the
Richler himself shuns Duddy. The entire concept of the novel was for Duddy to learn an important
lesson, what makes someone significant. The following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Duddy s character is not often sympathized. However, Richler somehow finds a way to
incorporate compassion. Although the reader does not feel that he should be feeling for Duddy,
the way Richler writes makes the reader feel heartless. Even when the reader does not want to be
happy for Duddy, the written words indicate that a pride for Duddy should be present. For
example, even after all the harm Duddy has caused, the last lines in the book still point toward
happiness for the character. That s all right sir. We ll mark it. And suddenly Duddy did smile. He
laughed. He grabbed Max, hugged him, and spun him around. You see, he said, his voice filled
with marvel. You see. Right in that very sentence a sort of pride arose from the book to the reader
even though any reader with a conscience realizes that this is not something to be blissful about.
Duddy eventually does become someone of somewhat significance save for going about it in a
completely shameful way with partial reference above. Although Duddy is attempting to please
his grandfather, the way Duddy conducts himself to get to a position that would be gratifying to
his grandfather are appalling. Perhaps Richler had made comparable errors in his own youth.
This book is almost like a personal account of ones own self pity and reassurance. Richler definitely
has a major soft spot for Duddy (just as he does for

Methods Of Optimization Clustering
Optimization clustering As one of the most popular and widely used data mining techniques,
cluster analysis is mainly divided into hierarchical clustering and partitional clustering, which are
carried out in a supervised or unsupervised way to separate data into different groups based on
similar characteristics. Both the hierarchical and partitional clustering have advantages and
drawbacks. Especially, the efficiency and accuracy are the primary challenges that clustering
analysis has to face. For example, the most efficient algorithm of hierarchical clustering is
complete linkage clustering in some special cases, the complexity of which is Оџ (n2). Therefore,
the hierarchical clustering usually leads to too slow efficiency for large data... Show more content

First of all, a new idea of using PSO for k means clustering technique is presented by Vander
Merwe and Engelbrecht. Different from traditional k means clustering, which starts with multiple
solutions to the problem, the new approach specifies a fixed number of particles as a swarm, each
of which representing the centroids of all clusters. A new set of better solutions is generated after a
successive iterations based on previous solutions. As the first proposed method using PSO based on
clustering, it does not improve the efficiency of execution time, while this method provides a new
way to optimize clustering. Secondly, Omran propose Dynamic Clustering (DCPSO) algorithm
based on binary PSO combining with k means clustering. In this approach, PSO is used for
clustering the data while k means is used to refine the clustering solution. At first, the number of
clusters is determined automatically and the data sets are clustered based on minimal user
interference. In order to decrease the effects of initial conditions, a relatively large number of
clusters are generated firstly. Then the number of clusters is optimized by binary particle swarm
optimization, while K means clustering algorithm is used to select the centroids. Both synthetic and
natural images are used to test the approach, which show that the optimum number of clusters are
generally founded on the tested images.

A hero shows much more than honor and glory, they sacrifice their own life to selflessly help out

The three main types of heroes include an epic hero, superhero, and your own personal hero. These
heroes show that it s more than the cape or armour they wear, they show the true meaning of a hero

The Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan Essay
What is the DRECP?
When Obama was elected President of the United States, he promised to protect the environment
we live in. His Climate Action Plan set out to increase energy efficiency, reduce carbon pollution
and expand of renewable energy sources. To accomplish a part of this, the government announced
approval of an action plan, the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan DRECP . The DRECP
is a landscape level plan focusing on renewable energy and conservation on 22.5 million acres of
California desert land. The plan stretches over seven California counties, including Los Angeles,
San Diego and San Bernardino. The DRECP was developed in a joint effort by government
agencies such as, the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Local
governments, renewable energy developers and environmental organizations were also involved.
The DRECP goals could be split up into three major categories.
For renewable energy development, the Plan hopes to identify a common planning goal of
producing 20,000 megawatts by 2040, involving a range of different renewable energy
technologies. To locate new renewable energy development focus areas with suitable energy
resources as well as updating existing renewable energy sites. DRECP s focus for the ecological
side is to preserve, restore, and enhance natural communities and ecosystems and conserve sensitive
species (What is DRECP, 2016). As well as to locate development focus areas on disturbed lands

The San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, in southeastern Arizona, was established in 1872 as a
reservation for the Chiricahua Apache tribe, who were forcibly removed from their original
homelands. Also known as Hell s Forty Acres , due to deplorable health and environmental
conditions, the area really serves as a dumping ground for those unwanted by the United States. As
stated by Richard J. Perry, the author of Apache Reservation: Indigenous Peoples and the American

tract. Government agents in the late nineteenth century demarcated the region in what they
considered to be an essentially worthless part of the territory. (10). Perry also comments... Show

government attempted to sell off Apache holy lands in 2014. Despite the area in question (Oak
Flat) receiving government protections in 1955, that didn t stop the current U.S. Senate and
Congress from trying to uplift the protections. According to the New York Times article Selling
Off Apache Holy Land, by Lydia Millet, Despite the protections, in December 2014, Congress
promised to hand the title for Oak Flat over to a private, Australian British mining concern. Also,
this wasn t the first time Congress attempted this. The same article also mentions that Arizona
members of congress had attempted this on behalf of the Australian British company several
times, but had failed each time due to a lack of support. With all this in mind, could anyone
honestly argue that these Congressmen would push for the acquisition of this land if it were
known as a christian holy site? On February 9th, 2015, three hundred people (mostly Apaches)
marched 44 miles from their tribal headquarters to occupy their sacred site. Luckily, due to the
protests performed by the Apache and their supporters, this attempted proposal was shot down by
former President Obama in 2016. Unfortunately, with the arrival of the Trump administration in

What Things Occurred During The European Renaissance
The European Renaissance was a new time and age, where many new inventions were made and
many famous people were born.
Although the Renaissance was a good time for most, a good majority of people still didn t feel the
effects that the more wealthy people did. As you read I will explain some of the things that

Some families founded banks which would lead to people being able to take out loans. Loans
played a key part in the trading business. Having loans meant more ships could be built, and

and Venice were in the constant fight for control over major trading ports. Control over a port
meant that you control what came in and what went including ships. In the end, both Genoa and
Venice signed the peace of Turin. The peace of Turin was made to end the war between Genoa

service representatives (CSRs) who are employees of OSI. On January 1, 2004, OSI entered into a
service contract with Company X. Pursuant to the terms of the contract, OSI s CSRs will provide

Cost Deferral Policy In the past, OSI had not entered into transactions in which significant up front
costs were incurred in connection with the set up and origination of its contracts, and, accordingly,
OSI has not adopted a policy for accounting for these types of costs. OSI has indicated it plans to
adopt a policy of deferring all up front costs related to this contract including system set up costs,
sales commissions, and other contract acquisition costs. Management of OSI believes they will
recover these costs and generate substantial profits through their call revenue (initial term and
renewal periods), and the up front costs incurred are a necessary investment in the contract. Based
on customer lifting studies performed by an outside consultant and other industry statistics, OSI
expects its contract with Company X to extend beyond the initial contract term and estimates a
customer life of approximately 4.5 years. The total fees (set up fee and call revenue) over the
customer life are expected to exceed the direct costs of the contract, including amortization of the
deferred costs before any indirect or Selling, General, and Administrative costs.

Calculus As A Part Of Modern Mathematics Education
Calculus (from Latin calculus, literally small pebble used for counting )[1] is the mathematical
study of change, in the same way that geometry is the study of shape and algebra is the study of
operations and their application to solving equations. It has two major branches, differential
calculus (concerning rates of change and slopes of curves),[2] and integral calculus(concerning
accumulation of quantities and the areas under and between curves);[3] these two branches are
related to each other by the fundamental theorem of calculus. Both branches make use of the
fundamental notions of convergence of infinite sequences and infinite series to a well defined limit.
Generally, modern calculus is considered to have been developed in the 17th century by Isaac
Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Today, calculus has widespread uses in science, engineering and
economics[4] and can solve many problems that elementary algebra alone cannot.
Calculus is a part of modern mathematics education. A course in calculus is a gateway to other,
more advanced courses in mathematics devoted to the study of functions and limits, broadly called
mathematical analysis. Calculus has historically been called the calculus of infinitesimals , or
infinitesimal calculus . Calculus (plural calculi) is also used for naming some methods of
calculation or theories of computation, such as propositional calculus, calculus of variations,
lambda calculus, and process calculus.

In the first two chapter of part one of The Hot Zone started of about the day to day life of Charles
Monet, and how it got sick leading up to his death and Doctor Musoke get sick after Monet s
vomit got in his eye and mouth. The author gives a brief overview of what Monet s live was
Luke after he returned from his trip with his lady friend and got sick, then died. While doing the
author posed questions as to why and how Monet got so sick that fast. The author was trying to
show the reader that even something sliding your hand over a surface or in something can
possibly make you sick. The author s purpose for writing these two chapters was to show how

bleeding profusely. Just from these two chapters the reader can come up with many points about
the reading. The reader can say that the author made sure to mentioned that Monet took his
women friend to the mountain and had sex then she died of AIDS, but Monet died close to the
time she disappeared after they had sex so how could he die from AIDS to, it had to be

perhaps they made love while a thunderstorm hammered the canvas. ( pg 10) here the author

Iago s Jealousy In Othello, The Moor Of Venice
Othello is one of William Shakespeare s most famous dramas. Othello is called a tragedy and has
been a popular play throughout the history of literature and drama. The non shortened original
title of this play is The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice. There are several key points of
analysis that can be found when reading Othello. These include specific themes, irony, symbolism,
and tone. Each of these devices add to the overall meanings in a specific way, Shakespeare placed
them within the play for the reader to understand. The prominent theme in Othello is jealousy. It s a
theme that is present throughout the entire play. Iago, who the main villain of the play, is jealous of
Othello and the power he has. Iago s jealousy is what leads to the conflict later into the play. In the
beginning, Iago expresses his hate for Othello, One Micheal Cassio, a Florentine....As masterly as
he: mere prattle, without practice in all his soldiership.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Shakespeare s time, this was not widely viewed as acceptable and this is why it causes conflict
in the play. Even though Othello has a high position of power and is highly respected, his race is
always brought into the picture and never seems to be forgotten. The tone of Othello is mostly
bitter. This is mainly due to Iago s conflict throughout. He influences the other characters, especially
Othello, and causes them to become bitter as well. Each character is emotionally affected by Iago
and his ability to get inside each individual mind. For example, Othello is overcome with emotions
from his heartbreak when finding out that Desdemona has been seeing Cassio that he kills
Desdemona and later himself. He also stabs Iago when he finds out all of the lies that he has told.
The irrational emotions and actions that follow make the ton depressing as

No Country For Old Men And The Road
Cormac McCarthy is one America s most revered and influential authors of the 20th and 21st
century. Winning the Pulitzer Prize for literature and many other literary accolades, McCarthy
took the world by storm with his gritty realism and sparse use of literature. His success eventually
lead to the movie adaptations of two of his most praised novels, No Country for Old Menand The
Road. These two works displayed McCarthy s style and plot structure very well, even though his
writing style is predominantly unconventional . However, contrary to the irregular style of
literature, both movies received great praise from critics and fans for being so loyal to the source
material, although, screenwriters and directors deviates from the source material... Show more

Considering the one of the main themes is about the end of humanity both physically and
psychologically, the narrative is wrought with brutality, hardships, and terror. For the entire
duration of the novel and movie, the father has accepted the idea that he would kill the son to
save him from capture if they were captured by cannibal men. In one portion of the novel, the
protagonist come across a house with a basement room filled with naked people, male and
female, all trying to hide, shielding their faces with their hands (110). They run out off the house
seeing that there is a group of cannibals approaching. In the film, the father and son are trapped in
the house with the cannibals who are unaware of their presence. Fearing that they would be
captured and tortured to death, the father ends up pressing the gun in the son s head and cocking
it when he is almost certain that they would be found. This is where the movie shows cinema s
advantage over print. Possibly the bleakest scene in the movie is when this occurs because the raw
emotion the father and son exhibit on screen when they are coming to terms with the worse
possible outcome is both gut wrenching and unmatched by McCarthy s writing. The novel,
however, is overall much more grim and depressing due to scenes that were cut out in the movie
version. For example, there is a point in the book where the protagonists witness a woman giving
birth only to find a charred human

Business Implications Of Social Housing
Sector implications
The one per cent annual reduction to social housing rents over past four years and other welfare
reforms set out in the July Budget have left RPs with little option but to make further efficiency
savings. The sector is facing a huge period of change and a range of financial pressures and we re
seeing many RPs taking action now to ensure they remain fit for the future.
Over the last couple of years tenants have been fairly well protected from cost saving measures
with the majority of RPs reluctant to reduce tenant services. In our 2014 survey just 16 per cent of
respondents had made or were considering making cuts in this area, and just 19 per cent in 2015.

Those employees lucky enough to receive salary rises during 2016 are likely to see a smaller
increase than in previous years, with just 10 per cent of respondents expecting salary increases
of two per cent or more. This is a reduction of more than 40 per cent on 2015 responses to the
same question. Despite all of the cuts within the sector, it s positive to see more than half of RPs
across the country expecting salary levels to increase over the next 12 months, but the sector is
clearly more cautious than in previous years and this is understandable.
Implementing new technology remains high up on the agenda for the sector with 87 per cent of
RPs having taken or looking to take action in this area (94 per cent in 2015). With the digital first
agenda building momentum within the sector we expect to see further technology implemented
over the next year as RPs start to provide more services for staff and customers through mobile
enabled solutions.

uniforms, but, THEY DON T WORK FOR MEIJER S. Refrain from asking where the butter is,
but you can ask for recipes! If you see a mess, don t ask them to clean it, use a red phone in your
area or ask the person in that department, this is important because we are a busy store. And we
wouldn t want to be taking care of a mess in grocery when we are supposed to be organizing the

Civil War Reconstruction Research Paper
I bet you know about the Civil War but, what about the Reconstruction time period? The
Reconstruction time period was another important part of the Civil War. The reconstruction was the
time period after the Civil War. The Civil War was the war against the north and the south over
slavery and many other different ways of life. The Civil War pretty much smoothed out the
significant differences between the north and south but, that did not mean that the north and south
got along well. The reconstruction started in 1865 and ended in 1877. The Reconstruction time
period left a gigantic impact on northern and southern americans.
During the reconstruction time period the south did not get along very well with the north. The
southerners needed help rebuilding their land. In the Ducksters article it mentioned, Much of the
southern United States were destroyed during the Civil War. Because of this, the north felt that
they should help them rebuild their land. They felt this way because they had just won the war so

What Is Andrew Carnegie Unethical
Andrew Carnegie was a man who believed in the phrase Survival of the fittest. He became a
shining example of this quote by climbing the ladder from a lowly Irish immigrant to one of the
richest men in history. Through aggressive and sometimes unethical means, Carnegie was able to
establish firm dominance over the steel industry in the late 19th century and through the early
20th century. The manner in which Carnegie treated his workers, the government, and his
competition ensured that he would forever be remembered as a industrial legend. From
underpaying his employees to buying out his competitors, Carnegie continued to make the
maximum amount of profit in mind (Valentine, Baker). Being a man coming into America with
nothing and climbing up to become one of the richest men in the world, he would eventually
become the poster boy for every Rag to Riches story. Before he became the multi million dollar
tyrant we all know him as, his first job was a in a factory working as a bobbin boy. He received a
measly dollar and twenty cents a week (Carnegie 34). It can be implied that this is why Carnegie
was a firm believer in social darwinism and the concept of free enterprise, Carnegie believed that
opportunity was there for anyone willing to seize it. He expressed these beliefs and demonstrated
that they worked using his cutthroat business tactics and other unethical acts he committed to
ensure dominance in the steel industry. Even in times of unrest and an almost stagnant

company s success. One area that Costco does pay particular attention to, are small businesses;
since small businesses are the company s primary target they make it a point to reach out and

Fahrenheit 451 Dystopian Society Essay
Dystopian societies and modern day societies have various opinions on what should be valued.
In the novel Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury shows a dystopian society that contrasts today s
modern day society. The concepts of knowledge and communication are shown throughout the
book in different ways than are seen in today s modern day society. Knowledge is one idea that
has conflicting meanings. The importance of knowledge is demonstrated in different ways
between dystopian society and modern day societies. The topic of lack of knowledge is
presented through the nonsignificance of books. When Montag is speaking with Beatty at the
end of his history of being a fireman, Beatty says, We must all be alike. Not everyone born free
and equal, as the constitution says, but everyone made equal... a book is a loaded gun in the
house next door. Burn it. Take a shot from the weapons. Breach men s mind (Bradbury 100).
Since Montag and his society are not allowed to own book, it shows that knowledge is not as
enforced. Knowledge is a trait valued in modern day society. An example of how education and
knowledge is forced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of noncommunicating with one another is average through the conversation of Montag
and Mildred. When Mildred talks to Montag she realizes that Montag listens to her talk, when she
says, When I talk, you look at me... The others would never do that (Bradbury 21). Not
communicating with each other is a normal thing to do in their society because it is unusual to have
meaningful conversations. Communication is well cherished in modern day society. Sarah and her
family were at a restraunt and her brother as on his phone the whole time and not engaging with
others, so his dad took away his phone. Communication with others is a key detail, because
communication helps people learns. Communication is a different in modern day societies and

Modern Family Vs. Present Family Essay
1950s Family vs. Present Family There is always that one question that has been on everyone s
mind, what does a real family look like? What is a family? What are mothers supposed to do?
fathers? children? What are their gender roles? Well, during the 1950s, there were many families
whom believed that the show I Love Lucyportrayed the perfect family, but that was back in the
good old days . It has been more than 50 years and there are still current shows today that portray a
perfect family, in different ways. The American televisionseries, Modern Family portrays one big

audience how a perfect family is supposed to be but some in a positive way and others in a
negative way. Well, the real answer is that the 1950s were not the good old days . For example,

Character Analysis Of The Movie, Edward Cole
n my opinion, I believe that they are both intelligent, but in different ways. Carter James is really
calm, learned everything on his own, and actually thinks on what he is going to say. On like
Edward Cole, he s educated, and doesn t care on what he has to say. They both have great minds,
but expressed differently. Edward is based of on money which leads to him not caring. I feel
like they are both smart, but Carter is more smart because he learned a lot of things on his own
and he just loved history. History leads to a lot of knowledge because you get to learn about
many thing that happened in the past. He s more of a self reliance man because he relies on
himself to get past anything. Edward Cole is more of a guy who was educated, but often shown
like he wasn t. Edward has lots of money which often depends on. Due to money, he doesn t
really care about others, but himself. Money is the outcome of his education, but that all he has
in his life. At the beginning of the movie, could you label Edward cole a bully? Why? I could
label Edward Cole as a bully, because he didn t care on what he said to others. He just expressed

Trace The Pathway Of A Bill Essay
Jeanelle Carmona PSC 201 Essay #8 Trace the pathway of a bill through both houses of
congress. The process in which a bill becomes a law can be a lengthy one, it must go through
many steps in order to become the law of the land. It is believed that this process should be a
matter that every American citizen should be informed of in order to fully understand and
appreciate the inner workings of congress with regard to The House of Representatives and the
Senate. The steps in which a bill becomes a law is an example of the democratic way of life here
in The United States. The fact that a proposal cannot become a law without consideration and
approval by both houses of congress is an outstanding virtue of our bicameral legislative system.
(Sullivan 1 2) Anyone can write a bill not just a member of congress. Any citizen, group or
organization can draw up a bill. The right to petition is guaranteed by the first amendment. These
bills are usually written in the form of a letter. It is estimated that more then 15,000 bills are
introduced to The House of Representatives and the Senate each year. Each one is then assigned
to a committee after it is given a number. 22 of these committees belong to The House of
Representatives and 15 to the Senate. The majority of all laws originate in The House of
Representatives. These bills fall into two categories, private and public. A public bill is any bill
that affects the public or the nation. An example of a public bill

Tuberculosis Or Tb Is Caused By Mycobacterium Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis or TB is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Mycobacteria are aerobic bacteria,
which do not form spores and are non motile. They are curved, intracellular rods, and have cell
walls made of glycolipids and phospholipidglycans that protect them from lysosomal attacks. TB
is one of the world s deadliest diseases. Approximately one out of three people worldwide are
infected; in 2014, 9.6 million people were diagnosed with TB and there were 1.5 million deaths
(CDC, 2014). This disease is highly contagious, and although the number of cases reported has
decreased, the decrease was smaller than in previous years. New strains of drug resistant TB pose
a threat to the global population as a whole; less than half of those diagnosed with drug resistant
TB are successfully cured. Humans are the only known carrier of Tuberculosis; it is spread from
person to person through aerosol droplets released into the air when an infected person coughs,
sneezes, speaks, or sings. The infection cannot be spread by: shaking someone s hand, sharing food
or drink, touching bed linens or toilet seats, sharing toothbrushes, or kissing (CDC, 2014). One
cough from an infected individual can produce 3,000 infected droplets and it only takes ten bacilli
to initiate an infection (Herchline, 2015). Since the disease is spread through the air, micro
epidemics are common in closed communities such as hospitals, nursing homes, prisons,
submarines, and on transcontinental flights.

The Garden Essay
Andrew Marvell s The Garden is a poem that through logical progression argues its already
established point of view. It is a poem of meditation in a particular place, where the place presented
influences the course of this meditative state. Even though filled with the imagery of nature the
poem takes a rather pessimistic point of view, where it argues that total isolation from society and
harmony with nature as the singular best way of living. Thus, the whole of the poem centers on the
idea of wholesome nature in a world without the instruction of mankind. In the first three stanzas,
the virtues of the garden are provided through comparison with the trial (and supposed pleasures) of
the world of men, stanzas five through seven address... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In effect, in the second stanza, the speaker speaks to the harmony he has found in the garden as he
compares the world of men and that of nature: Fair Quiet, have I found thee here, / And
Innocence, thy sister dear? (9 10). However, as he does so the speaker seem to fully inhabit
neither of these worlds, and his praise of the garden is lessened by doubt in the very stanza that
should establish the garden s virtues, the speaker cant even be certain that those virtues exist:
Your sacred plant, if here below, / Only among the plants will grown (13 14). The words if and
will signify that such was not yet achieved. However, the last two lines of the come back to the
central idea of the negation of humanity: Society is all but rude/ To this delicious solitude (15 16)
implying that the society is harmful to this perfect harmony of the garden. The argument of the
poem in the third and fourth stanzas still remains that of humanity against nature, however this
time with an emphasis on sexual passions. Here, the pleasures of human erotic pursuit are found
decidedly wanting when compared to the pleasures of the garden. The pleasures compared are of a
kind: No white nor red was ever seen / So amorous as this lovely green (17 18). The colors of white
and red are emblematic of female beauty (Rumrich, 554.9)

  • 2. Sandy Hook Shooting Research Paper In particular, the shooting has brought attention to school safety throughout the country and beyond, has contributed to children s fears, and possibly inspired future generations of shooters. The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting affected the country s thoughts on school safety in a way that perhaps no other event has. President Obama wiped away a tear as he spoke in Washington Friday. We ve endured too many of these tragedies in the past few years, he said. We are going to have to come together to take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this regardless of the politics. (Shock). The people and citizens of this country wanted to be comforted by a trusted government official, so President Barack Obama delivered a speech about gun violence just after the shooting. The only way this time will be different is if the American people demand that this time it must be different, that this time we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s now been just over 100 days since the murder of 20 innocent children and 6 brave educators in Newtown, Connecticut, an event that shocked this country and, I think, galvanized parents all across the country to say, we ve got to do something more to protect our kids. But consider this: Over those 100 days or so, more than 100 times as many Americans have fallen victim to gun violence. (Obama). The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting shocked and scared the country. If these reforms keep one person from murdering dozens of innocent children or worshippers or moviegoers in a span of minutes, isn t it worth fighting for? I believe it is. (Obama). Religion In John Portier s The Dead Man Walking Whether we agree with religious people or their critics or simply don t know, the near universal appeal, the persistence and the transforming power of religions are intriguing, Portier once said. People are always intrigued by religion. Even if people do not have a faith or religion, they are intrigued about the power of religionand are searching for answers. Portier defined religion in terms of life s greatest questions. People are always questioning the supernatural. The definition of religion relates to the Dead Man walking in many ways. The article, Attitudes towards legalising physician provided euthanasia in Britain: The role of religion over time, aims to analyze the change in support for euthanasia over time in comparison to the change in religion and religiosity among the population. The researchers noted that previous studies have indicated the relationships between religiosity and denomination with negative attitudes towards physician assisted suicide and euthanasia. To further hypothesize, the researchers concluded that an individual s opinion on these two topics may also be swayed by their personal satisfaction with the health care system. To gather data, the researchers used the British Social Attitudes survey. Since immigrants bring the various cultures to America, Americans face a highly controversial problem. Some of the Americans believe all of the ethnic groups assimilate into a common culture can help Americans distinctly identify themselves. Others argue that ethnic groups should not abandon their cultural heritages background. As a result, merging different cultures into one new culturewill cause America lose its cultural diversity which is one significant charm of this country. On the contrary, if every ethnic group only focuses on building their own community and resists communicate with others, it will aggravate the separation of a nation. Although people often argue about these two ways which one is more appropriate to Americans, I think Richard Rodriguez s idea is more realistic in nowadays American society. Rodriguez resists the idea of the melting pot, and believes that assimilation is inevitable and reciprocal. In the essay Does America Still Exist?, Rodriguez explains his thought to us through his experiences. First, Rodriguez thinks the old metaphor of a melting pot is no longer accepted by Americans. By viewing contemporary violence through the lens of Iron Age customs, he untangles the harsh truth of human nature. Should The Federal Reserve Bank Drop Its Interest Rate In a world where overseas central banks in Japan and Europe are lowering interest rates and in some cases keeping rates negative, the Federal Reserve Bank (The Fed), is faced with a series of tradeoffs. For example if the U.S. is the only major economy to raise rates then we may attract money from overseas investors who are seeking yield. Sounds good, right? But the flip side is that as this happens, our currency will appreciate and when it does, it costs more for overseas consumers to buy our goods. This hurts our exporters and eventually will weaken our economy. 3) The central or treasury bank should drop its interest rate immediately or soon after the tax cuts to control interest rates from commercial banks and inflation. Increase in investment demand through multiplier process leads to a greater increase in aggregate demand and national income. To control inflation the Central Bank of a country can reduce money supply through open market operations by selling bonds or government securities in the open market and in return gets currency funds from those who buy the bonds. In this way liquidity in the banking system can be reduced. To reduce money supply for fighting inflation the Central Bank can also raise cash reserve ratio of the banks. There was moments that happen throughout the play that explain those dark twisted moments that made people laugh but didn t realize the deeper meaning to it: Sam, is Carrie little sister and she has so much energy, and when Carrie and Molly fight and they start yelling at each other, she will sit down and keep distance from them and starts naming state birds, for me I felt like the fighting made Sam uncomfortable so in order to cope with it, she names state birds to stir her concentration to something else. A lot of tragic moments happen to the characters, and all got a moment to express how they felt and how they are handling with hard moments of their life s, specially Carrie, where there would be sudden scenes where the spotlight would hit her and she gets a moment to talk about certain things she feels of the death of her father. Methods Of Optimization Clustering Optimization clustering As one of the most popular and widely used data mining techniques, cluster analysis is mainly divided into hierarchical clustering and partitional clustering, which are carried out in a supervised or unsupervised way to separate data into different groups based on similar characteristics. Both the hierarchical and partitional clustering have advantages and drawbacks. Especially, the efficiency and accuracy are the primary challenges that clustering analysis has to face. A new set of better solutions is generated after a successive iterations based on previous solutions. As the first proposed method using PSO based on clustering, it does not improve the efficiency of execution time, while this method provides a new way to optimize clustering. • 24. Calculus As A Part Of Modern Mathematics Education Calculus (from Latin calculus, literally small pebble used for counting )[1] is the mathematical study of change, in the same way that geometry is the study of shape and algebra is the study of operations and their application to solving equations. It has two major branches, differential calculus (concerning rates of change and slopes of curves),[2] and integral calculus(concerning accumulation of quantities and the areas under and between curves);[3] these two branches are related to each other by the fundamental theorem of calculus. Both branches make use of the fundamental notions of convergence of infinite sequences and infinite series to a well defined limit. Generally, modern calculus is considered to have been developed in the 17th century by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Today, calculus has widespread uses in science, engineering and economics[4] and can solve many problems that elementary algebra alone cannot. Calculus is a part of modern mathematics education. A course in calculus is a gateway to other, more advanced courses in mathematics devoted to the study of functions and limits, broadly called mathematical analysis. Calculus has historically been called the calculus of infinitesimals , or infinitesimal calculus . Calculus (plural calculi) is also used for naming some methods of calculation or theories of computation, such as propositional calculus, calculus of variations, lambda calculus, and process calculus. Othello is called a tragedy and has been a popular play throughout the history of literature and drama. The non shortened original title of this play is The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice. It s a theme that is present throughout the entire play. Iago, who the main villain of the play, is jealous of Othello and the power he has. Considering the one of the main themes is about the end of humanity both physically and psychologically, the narrative is wrought with brutality, hardships, and terror. For the entire duration of the novel and movie, the father has accepted the idea that he would kill the son to save him from capture if they were captured by cannibal men. In one portion of the novel, the protagonist come across a house with a basement room filled with naked people, male and female, all trying to hide, shielding their faces with their hands (110). They run out off the house seeing that there is a group of cannibals approaching. In the film, the father and son are trapped in the house with the cannibals who are unaware of their presence. Fearing that they would be captured and tortured to death, the father ends up pressing the gun in the son s head and cocking it when he is almost certain that they would be found. This is where the movie shows cinema s advantage over print. Possibly the bleakest scene in the movie is when this occurs because the raw emotion the father and son exhibit on screen when they are coming to terms with the worse possible outcome is both gut wrenching and unmatched by McCarthy s writing. The process in which a bill becomes a law can be a lengthy one, it must go through many steps in order to become the law of the land. It is believed that this process should be a matter that every American citizen should be informed of in order to fully understand and appreciate the inner workings of congress with regard to The House of Representatives and the Senate. The steps in which a bill becomes a law is an example of the democratic way of life here in The United States. The fact that a proposal cannot become a law without consideration and approval by both houses of congress is an outstanding virtue of our bicameral legislative system. Mycobacteria are aerobic bacteria, which do not form spores and are non motile. They are curved, intracellular rods, and have cell walls made of glycolipids and phospholipidglycans that protect them from lysosomal attacks. TB is one of the world s deadliest diseases. Approximately one out of three people worldwide are infected; in 2014, 9.6 million people were diagnosed with TB and there were 1.5 million deaths (CDC, 2014). This disease is highly contagious, and although the number of cases reported has decreased, the decrease was smaller than in previous years. New strains of drug resistant TB pose a threat to the global population as a whole; less than half of those diagnosed with drug resistant TB are successfully cured. Humans are the only known carrier of Tuberculosis; it is spread from person to person through aerosol droplets released into the air when an infected person coughs, sneezes, speaks, or sings. The infection cannot be spread by: shaking someone s hand, sharing food or drink, touching bed linens or toilet seats, sharing toothbrushes, or kissing (CDC, 2014). One cough from an infected individual can produce 3,000 infected droplets and it only takes ten bacilli to initiate an infection (Herchline, 2015). It is a poem of meditation in a particular place, where the place presented influences the course of this meditative state. Even though filled with the imagery of nature the poem takes a rather pessimistic point of view, where it argues that total isolation from society and harmony with nature as the singular best way of living. Thus, the whole of the poem centers on the idea of wholesome nature in a world without the instruction of mankind.
