Learning Disabilities
1. There is no such thing as a typical student with a learning disability
This represents to me how diverse and complex those individuals with learning disabilities can be in
their capabilities and in the ways that they need support. They can have a learning disability that
affects their academic achievement and memory, along with how they process information, and so
much more. One student could have a learning disability that affects their achievement with
mathematics but not their reading or language abilities, and vice versa. Short term, long term,
and working memory can also be affected to varying degrees, and this will be different from
student to student. One thing that is typical of students with learning disabilities is that they
would probably have average to above average intelligence. However, their academic
achievement often shows a deficit of a lower level of intelligence, depending on where their
difficulties or challenges are within academics. Emotionally and socially, students will also range
in their abilities to make and keep friends, might have classroom behavior problems, might have
anxiety, but also might have no social and emotional struggles at all. To me, it depends greatly on
the support that they receive at home starting out and within the school while they are learning.
The more we support these students the less likely they will be to have as many social and
emotional issues, along with grow and develop academic skills while being held to

Effect Of Sulfur Dioxide Pollution On Lichen
Our findings support the difference in the amounts of traffic between the northern side and southern
side of Central Park, with lichens in the southern side more resistant to sulfur dioxide, and with
lichens in the northern side more sensitive to sulfur dioxide. Due to the nature of the lichens in the
southern side, as they can survive with Nitrogen oxide can also be a harmful pollutant found in
large cities. Lichens are affected by the amount of nitrogenous pollutants in an area, similar to how
they are affected by sulfur dioxide. In future studies, we could potentially assess both sulfur dioxide
and nitrogen dioxide levels in the atmosphere by assessing the lichen population within that area.
This can provide a larger amount of information... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We would also would have traveled in a larger variety of places throughout the park, in order to
gather a more diverse amount of lichen species and to assess the quality of air throughout a
larger part of New York City. This would allow us to gather a better sense of the sulfur dioxide
pollution in the area of each area of the park. If we were to redo this project, we would have
brought sharper tools to use when collecting lichens from Central Park. The knife that we brought
was fairly dull and we found that we had a very difficult time removing many of the lichens from
the surface which they resided on. Another way we could have further improved our experiment
was rather than trying to specifically negate variables ourselves, by collecting in specific areas,
have statistics negate them. If we had chose random areas in the park to collect lichens,
statistically, it would have negated many of our variables we tried to avoid, and many other lurking

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Social Networking On Business
whether it is managed by individual or any organisation. By the use of blogs business organisation
can share the information about their brand, new product and customer service awareness and also
the links where they can get product easily. The blog is the best way to aware the customer about
the usage, precaution relating to the usage of products. The blog is significant tool for business as
they can get the feedback and comments regarding the product from customers (Laroche et al.,

The business organisation can reduce the cost by increasing area of customer. Social media is tool
which require less investment and that s reason many or the organisation opting for the social
media marketing (Whiting Williams, 2013). The following are list of advantages which are
associated with use of social networking in business:
Cost Saver / low investment
The authors found in their study that the main advantage of the using social networking is cost
reduction. Every organisation wants to cut their cost to increase the profit and they opt for the
strategies which help them to do same (Verhoef et al., 2014). The business organisation can freely
opt for the social networking in their business as the barriers of financial resources are minimal. As
the other advertising or marketing tool cost millions of dollars not every organisation can opt for
this that time social media marketing provide significant platform to those business associates
which have small amount of marketing fund. The social media allows the users to grab the target
market with less investment and also direct link with each of the customers which on the other
tools is not possible (Tsimonis Dimitriades, 2014). The social network has a tendency to spread the
news to all the potential customer because of its viral nature and information can reach to large
number of audience within short time.

Thurmond was born in Edgefield South Carolina after fighting in WW II, he was elected governor
of South Carolina. He was appointed to the senate in 1954 as a Democrat and later switched to the

Simulation Of The Book 1984 By George Orwell
The simulation of 1984 really brought the book 1984 to life . While playing the game my
classmates and I were able to experience the horrors of the thought police, doublethink, and ingood.
Playing the game I ultimately felt trapped by Big Brother.
First , Big brother and the thought police were almost inevitable. There was no way to commit any
crimes only goodthink was prohibited. Throughout , the book Winston, describes the surveillance of
BB and how strong it was. For instance he states, . After you are caught by the thoughtpolice you
are at risk of being unpersoned or cured by the party. The trick was that everyone had their own
interpretation of what the rules meant. Therefore, the thought police could take anyone into custody.

PMO Mission Statement
A vision statement is often broad, future looking, and acts as a strategic guiding tool for an
organization to strive for ultimate satisfaction of stakeholders. However, a mission statement is
alternatively more focused, looking to gain buy in for strategic purposes and culture building, an
internal stakeholder tool. A Project ManagementOffice (PMO) should strive to ensure that
organizational goals align with both the mission and vision statement, helping them to easily
identify projects that are a good fit. Additionally, it is easier to unite a team when they are clear on
the objective from the start, and everyone is on the same page (Toledo, 2013).

To complete this mission, three goals have been identified which discuss leadership and
coordination of cross functional projects, continually enhancing guidelines and tools, and
encouraging the adoption of best practices (University of Iowa Health Care, 2012). Both formal and
informal motivation techniques reinforce a team s identity and enhance performance (Toledo,
2013). This PMO has successfully identified how to reach the mission through these goals.
A generic healthcare PMO mission statement would be: Our PMO is persistently upgrading project
management practices to establish a level of trust among our stakeholders. It oversees the
administration to support quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness through the use of strong
technology and methodologies, tailored to the client. Three goals toward accomplishing such a
mission might include:

An Obligation On Self Care
an obligation. Self care means balancing a concern for others with a concern for one s own well
being... A similar view is held by Eileen Scully who believes that the challenge to be well is rooted
in the sacramental promise of communion and baptism. As the Body of Christ is called to
completeness, so pastors are called to a new way of life which was fashioned, well ordered and
blessed by God and acquired for us through our Lord JesusChrist. Just as the church has come to
express a theology of ordained ministry that is rooted in and serves the baptismal ministry shared
by the whole church, so too, issues of clergywellness cannot be seen in isolation from the wellness
of the whole body. These points of view are echoed by G. Lloyd Rediger who believes that
pastors are peculiarly unconcerned about their physical fitness and well being and make less
provision for their agendas and time schedules. Their own self care is set aside in favor of other
ministry requirements. These obligations intrude and take over the very essence of their beings.
Rediger further inserts that there is a theological disconnect when pastors fail to model fitness for
their congregation. Pastors have been guilt ridden to denying the body in order to enrich their
spirits. Gary Thomas, author of Everybody Matters; Strengthening Your Body to Strengthen your
Soul, says, Becoming spiritually and physically fit are two ways that we can grow in our inner and
outer strength, as well as in our

Cardozo Case Summary
A recently graduated accountant accepted a company wanting to go public as its first client. That
company was Cardozo and Co, Inc., incorporated in Massachusetts, but headquartered in Miami,
FL. The IPO was successful, and the public company decided to remain with the accountant. After
the IPO, the accountant provided tax advice on matters, such as sheltering money to the Cayman
Islands, and helped to prepare the financial statements for the proxy statement during a merger to
another company that would significantly increase its worth. The auditor s opinion on the
financial statements prepared had been released to the public, and even used by a Prosser Bank to
provide a loan to Cardozo and Co, Inc. An embezzlement was discovered, and the President... Show

v. Touche, the court used the primary benefit test, which became known as Ultramares. Ultramares
requires privity, the accountant has a fiduciary duty only to whom they performed work for or an
entity very close to privity. Ultramares requires four aspects for a nonclient; the accountant must be
aware of the name, purpose, extent, and that the client is aware of the nonclient s use. If Ultramares
was used by Prosser Bank and the shareholders, it would fail on several requirements, but primarily
due to the fact that privity is not present, and the parties existence was unknown to the accountant.
In the case of Tricontinental Industries, Ltd. v. PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, Tricontinental relied
on the Anicom, Inc. s financial statements audited by PWC, but PWC did not note in its opinion the
discrepancies it discovered during the audit, and Tricontinental entered into an Asset Purchase
Agreement. Anicom eventually restated its financials and became bankrupt. Tricontinenal blames
PWC for negligence. The judge ruled in favor of PWC. Even though this case has different facts
than the Cardozo and Co, Inc. situation, under Ultramares, the accountant intended his work to be
used by his client. The Restatement (Second) of Torts, specifically with regard to the foreseen
users and foreseen class of users test expanded the liability of accountants to foreseen users and

Sex and Dementia. Should People with Dementia Be Able To Consent To Having Sex With Their
Loved Ones?
A big controversy that people around the world argue is whether a person with a mental disability
such as, dementia, should continue to have sexual relationships with their lover. Dementia is ...a
chronic or persistent disorder of the mental processes caused by brain disease or injury and
marked by memory disorders, personality disorders, and impaired reasoning (Google search,
dementia definition). In my opinion, I don t think people with dementia should be having sex
because of the many consequences this can cause to a relationship or a person such as, the loss of
memory, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That would be taking advantage of that person and will also be rape (Ina Jaffe, Can a person with
dementia consent to sex). On top of all that, the person just, gets away with it with no problems at
all and nothing to stop that freak since the person with dementia had no signs of resistance or
anything... Another thing, I don t think institutions where it is allowed/encouraged to have sex
should be allowed. What if that person has a loved one(s) at home that STILL HAVE A
RELATIONSHIP GOING!?!? I understand that intimacy with a person when someone has
Dementia can help with the mental disorder, but I just don t think that it seems fair to his/her son
/daughter(s) or husband/wife at home who wait all day and night to hear or worries from that
person(Dr. Pepper Schwartz, What are our rights when we re not ourselves any more?). I
understand how some people may think that humans with Dementia should be able to consent to
having sex, but think of it as if, a person is using another person because of their disability. An
example of this: So Tom (Husband)and Jackie(Wife who has dementia) live in the same house,
right next to them lives Jerry who just moved in and looks like Tom. Tom went out of town for
the week and trusted Jerry to take care of her, so Jerry goes check up on her and Jackie forgets
that her husband is gone for the week. Knowing that she had that mental disorder, Jerry took
advantage of her and got away with it without a trace... (A more simple metaphor/A more
simpler example) A boy who starves for sweets sees this girl and she has candy that the boy likes.
They hang out together for a bit until she runs out of candy to give to the boy, then he sees a girl
with chocolate chip cookies, so

The guitar solo provided more emotional support to the lyrics of the song. It wasn t loud and it
wasn t soft. It was right in the middle. The song had a medium tempo and the dynamic of the
song is soft to high and then back to soft. Because of the soothing and soft to high dynamic of the
song with the guitar producing the support, you feel the emotions the song is trying to provide.
Most of the lyrics are repeated in song and the main vocalist said this line ( I don t want to leave
her now. You know I believe and how ) throughout the song, which is the main idea behind the
song. The main idea the song is trying to portray is how there s something special in the person
he loves and he can t let her go. He said Attracts me like no other lover and That I don t need no
other lover which means the girl he loves is irreplaceable. The lyrics of this song are relatable to
everyone because it s about love. It s not something we can see or touch but it s an emotion that

The Themes Of Professor Marston And The Wonder Woman
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women tells a bold and provocative story about psychologist
and college professor William Moulton Marston (Luke Evans), and the behind the scenes realities
which led to his conceiving of, and authoring an initial run of comic books, introducing his creation
of Wonder Woman to readers of all ages in the 1940s.
Prior to that, years before, Marston claimed to be the inventor, along with wife Elizabeth (Rebecca
Hall), of the first ever legitimate polygraph, or lie detector machine. The Marstons found that when
a participant in the test told a lie, their systolic blood pressure would change, measured by a bar
which wrapped around the chest of the individual receiving the test. Wonder Woman fans may
recall that the superhero brandishes a lasso, which when wrapped around the chest of a foe,
compels them to tell the truth.
However, other reasons were in play when we see children s author and psychologist Josette Frank
(Connie Britton) grilling Marston over the themes and concepts found in his comic book series in
the mid 1940s. In flashback, we learn how Marston worked as a college professor and researcher,
alongside his wife, selling his DiSC theory, positing that people express human emotions in four
types of ways, through Dominance, Inducement, Submission, and Compliance.
Written and directed by Angela Robinson, Professor Marston gets the unconventional structure of
the story out of the way early on when Marston becomes instantly attracted to

Global Positioning System ( Gps )
Global Positioning System (GPS) is a network of orbiting satellites that send precise details of
their position in space back to earth. The technology was invented by the U.S. Department of
Defense, Ivan Getting, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Gray 4). GPS is well known
for its military applications and was first used by the U.S. to aid in its global intelligence efforts
during the Cold War (Gray 7). However, ever since the early 1980s, the GPS has been easily
available to anyone with a GPS receiver. Shipping firms, Airlines, trucking companies, and drivers
use this technology to track vehicles or follow the best route from one point to another in the
shortest possible time. With a simple tap on a screen, an average individual can find their way via a
complex system comprising of satellite technology. Although the GPS technology has its
disadvantages, it offers numerous advantages, including job creation, improved economy, and
precise military targeting. History of GPS Since it was first invented, the GPS technology has
continuously been improved to match the demands of the current society. The first system had five
satellites and allowed ships to check their location once every hour. As shown in table 2,
acknowledging the need for a more sophisticated method of navigation, the U.S. Department of
Defense implemented the next GPS with 24 satellites, launching the project by the 1990s (Sturm

As labor recruiters and brokers, middlemen provide the supply in response to the profitable demand
for the human trafficking industry through illegal channels involving government corruption,
contributing to the exploitation of migrants. In 1993, human rights group Asia Watch reported the
involvement of Thai officials in the sex trade and their treatment of Burmese girls in Thailand. After
raiding the brothel in which 148 underage Burmese girls were housed, they were rescued then
arrested as illegal immigrants even though the girls claimed to have been forced or tricked into
practicing sex. Subsequently, they were deported back to Burma, where those who tested HIV
positive were claimed to have been shot, although this has yet to be substantiated been cases in
which women have been injected with cyanide for being HIV positive. In February 2014, Thai
authorities have been caught, in February 2014 deporting 1,300 Rohingya Muslims from Thailand,
an action which met with concern by humanitarian agencies to the condition of the Muslims in their

responsible for the continued repression and marginalization of Burmese prostitutes in Thailand.

My Academic Goals And Research Interests
My academic goals and research interests have developed significantly over the course of my
undergraduate studies at Susquehanna University. When I first arrived at Susquehanna I was a
biology major and had dreams of medical school. However, by the end of freshman year, I began
to develop an interest in neuroscience. Declaring a major in neuroscience allowed me to explore
the components of biology I loved, while incorporating psychologyand chemistry.
My research interests developed from my exposure to the various areas of neuroscience through
my internships, research experiences and courses. I am currently working on a research project,
with the goal of gaining a more thorough understanding of the genes involved in lateral glial cell
differentiation in the central nervous system of Drosophila. I conduct genetic crosses to obtain the
desired genomes and collect embryos for immunostaining. I examine the expression of a
conceptual gene, cg31235, which is solely expressed in longitudinal glial cells, in the presence of
the genes Pointed P1 (PntP1) and Reversed Polarity (Repo). Subsequently, I will then use
immunostaining to examine the expression of PntP1 and Repo in order to determine whether they
regulate the genes involved in the in the development and function of longitudinal glia. Last fall, I
presented my research proposal, which was followed by a presentation at the Society of
Developmental Biology this spring. These experiences have strengthened my desire to explore

Unspoken written by Michelle Hetherington is an Aboriginal poem which is about the stolen
generation and how the Aboriginal people were not allowed to speak against the non indigenous
authorities. Hence, they were unspoken. This poem focuses on how the Aboriginal people were
silenced and ordered not to speak of their beliefs, culture, families or their grief. For example, line
8 and 9 states My Grandmother had to do what they said was right, Never speak of your real
mother, for she was not white. Consequently, the children who were stolen from their Indigenous
families were not allowed to speak of them as they were not White. Furthermore, the poem reveals

Institute of Contemporary Art
Institute of Contemporary Art
How do you make a building for contemporary art that stays contemporary in the future without
stooping to a neutral language? And how do you attract a big public without compromising the
selfish, private, exclusive time we all want to have in a museum? These questions, put forward by
Elizabeth Diller of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, represent the urbanistic motivation supporting the
construction of Boston s Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). In such a manner Boston s ICA
engages, not only with the urban citizen, but also the urban landscape in which the site is located.
The ICA conveys the idea of architecture as art in itself. As a presenter of art to the urban citizen
and because of its open design, the inside allows the citizens to not only appreciate the art within
the building but also see the art of the building s natural environment and setting.
Boston s ICA situated at Fan Pier in South Boston represents a shift from preconceived architectural
constructs to more innovative forms. The building s position in the middle of a currently
undeveloped urban landscape gives it a striking entity that engages the viewer in a way that
facilitates its various functions as a contemporary art museum. Furthermore its structure and
location alter the population s understanding of museum architecture as it has traditionally been
defined, that it is a shell that contains significant artistic work. A visual paradox becomes evident

suggests similar findings. MAIN REPORT
In May 2006, Westmount Retirement Residence was having very low profitability. Its very simple
pricing model essentially charged each resident the same price per month regardless of their needs.
This was due to a change in the patientsВґ demands. In the past, patientsВґ demands were similar
and therefore the companyВґs pricing and costing system was appropriate. But changes in the
population and in the requirements of the residents caused that the pricing model remained out of
date and the costing system inappropriate. One of the problems observed when analyzing the
companyВґs situation was that due to the costing system used it was not possible to have a clear
picture of how much each of the services offered were costing. Consequently, it was clearly very
difficult being able to define a pricing system that will give the shareholders the desired profit. The
first step was to design a new costing system adequate for the company

know where it originated from then you ll see a bit as to how lethal they are and how deadly
they can be to the United States. In the early 1990s the ASG split from the Moro National
Liberation Front (M.N.L.F.). They were the two main Muslim groups operating in the southern
Philippines. Abu Sayyaf s first major attack happened in 1991, when the Abu Sayyaf group set off
a grenade that killed two American evangelists. The ASG was founded by Abdurajak Abubakar
Janjalani, he was educated by the Al Islamic Tabligh, a fundamentalist organization funded by
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Janjalani became radicalized after studying and traveling to many
Muslim countries he was then suspected to have met Osama Bin Laden in 1988 and given $6
million dollars to develop and transform the southern Philippines into an Islamic state. The word

Violence In Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
Every author writes a book to depict a lesson or meaning. Things Fall Apart talked about the
various things that cease to exist. There were two main things that fell apart in this book: the
main character Okonkwo and religion. The meaning of this book was to show that life is full of
conflicts and if they are not confronted or solved correctly, something or someone will collapse.
Several scenes of violence were found in this book. These scenes existed to contribute to the
overall meaning of the complete work. One scene of violence made a significant impact to
Okonkwo. It was the day of Ezedu s funeral and guns were fired in the air. At this time, Okonkwo s
gun exploded and a piece of iron pierced through a boy s heart. The boy was one of Ezedu s... Show

This scene contributed to the meaning of the novel by showing how just one act will change
everything. Okonkwo fought to kill the missionaries and defended his clan and their beliefs.
However, he fell into disappointment when he found that no one backed him. Everyone was in
an uproar instead of preparing to fight. Okonkwo saw that Umuofia had changed and felt sorrow.
He found that the men who were once strong and brave were now weak and scared. The clan was
hopeless. The messengers who ran away will possibly come back with more men and Umuofia
will end up like Abame. Finding it pointless to stay in a place in which there was femininity in men
and in which his beliefs were abandoned, Okonkwo killed himself. This scene portrayed not only
the destruction of Okonkwo, but the destruction of the entire clan. The missionaries brought change
and successfully converted some Ibo to Christianity. Eventually, everyone will be Christian because
no one was brave enough to confront the missionaries and defend their religion. Change and the
clash of cultures caused things to fall

Operation Bodyguard Research Paper
Operation Bodyguard was the code name for a World War II deception plan employed by the
Allied states before the 1944 invasion of north west Europe. The plan was intended to mislead the
German high command as to the time and place of the invasion.
From January 1942 until the end of the war in Europe in 1945, FBI agents and radio technicians
lived and worked undercover, secretly transmitting coded messages that the Nazis believed came
from their own spies operating in New York. The Nazis believed their operatives were funneling
significant details about U.S. forces, munitions, and war preparations. But in fact, the
transmissions were controlled by the FBI the Nazi spies were FBI double agents. The Bureau s
work, known as Operation Ostrich, was central to our counterintelligence operations throughout the
war and was part of a larger effort by Allied Forces to deceive the enemy called Operation
Bodyguard. The Allied effort derived its name from a statement by British Prime Minister Winston
Churchill, who said, In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Operatives set out to deceive the Nazi leader about the nature and location of the main Allied
thrust so that he wouldn t be prepared to meet the invasion. The key to Bodyguard s success was
the Allies control of a number of German spies and ability to read coded German messages that
confirmed the Nazis didn t know their agents were compromised. For the FBI, the initial purpose in
participating in the counterintelligence effort was to learn about Nazi espionage, who was involved,
how they worked, and what they wanted to know. Early on, intelligence from Nazis were very

Texas Tornado Research Paper
On March 28, 2000, our city of Fort Worth was hit by an F3 tornado. After hearing about
tornados on the news year after year, I decided to write on the tornado that hit Fort Worth because
it happened when I was a kid and I can recall how the buildings looked like for a while after the
storm and how the downtown area has evolved over the years after the tornado. I also find it to be
interesting in finding out why we are hit so often. Texas is one of the hardest states hit by
tornados. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, there are on
average 155 tornados in Texas per year since 1991 2010. This is an impressive number compared
to other states. Texas, is known to be in what is popularly known as tornado alley. The... Show more

flash floods, strong winds, and hail. The tornado funnel developed directly over the city, descended,
and stayed on the ground for at least 15 min (Brewster, 2004). The path of the tornado was recorded
and after examining the damage it was determined the tornado began its damage in the municipality

Benefits Of Financial Activity Tracking
It is quite important to track your financial activities in order to create efficient budgets. Activity
tracking also allows you to generate better models of spending your money and ensure that you are
able to improve your financial habits. There are various benefits of financial activity tracking. These
benefits have given rise to the use of automated financial managers in the modern times.
Here, we understand the need for tracking financial activities and then look at a few important
solutions that are used these days in order to carry out activity tracking in an ideal manner.
The Need for Financial Activity Tracking
You can only take the right financial decisions if you understand the need for using a tool for
rightly tracking your financial activities. There are many points that stress on the need for using
financial activity tracking. Some of the important ones are the following:
Financial activity tracking allows people to monitor how they are spending. This monitoring then
allows them to compare their actual performance with the budget allocations that they set up at the
start of a month.
It also allows you to revise your initial budget and create a new plan. The creation of a new plan
allows you to manage your finances in a more realistic manner. Midterm revisions in your budget
also allow you to learn your spending habits and create better monthly budgets in the future.
An activity tracking tool is also ideal, because it can be effectively used as a training

What is counselling? Well, counselling is the application of mental health, psychological or human
development principles, through cognitive, affective, behavioural or systemic interventions and
strategies that address wellness, personal growth, or career development, as well as pathology.

My First Language Of English Literature
As a child I was born into a Spanish speaking family, which made my first language Spanish. I
began with the similar syllables as most babies do mamГ , papГ , and so on. Both of my parents are
from different parts of Mexico which exposed me to a Spanish speaking environment and very
little writing. I wrote and read poorly in Spanish. However, the languagespoken by my peers
outside my home was another. Being raised in Pomona, CA my community and school practiced
wo different dialects of English. Under these consequences, I remember becoming very
frustrated as I learned how to read. I struggled with reading, prior to my early years in school I
had not been exposed to English literature. I remember feeling inferior to many class members as
they caught on faster to the way words should be pronounced. The period in which reading was
taught I did my best to participate as little as possible. In any case, I was able to catch on for the
most part and later taught how to write in English. Although I struggled with this as well since I
tried to apply some of my Spanish literacy knowledge when writingEnglish. Once I began writing
reading helped and made some words familiar. A key moment in learning English was writing
words just as my ears heard them, I remember my mother saying that was how one wrote in
Spanish. Thus, my way of thinking was if by writing as I heard was done in Spanish, then it should
be done in English too, nonetheless, I soon realized that wasn t the way English

Evangelism Essay

Methods of Evangelism Paper
Part ONE Evangelistic Method #1
The Four Spiritual Laws is an intellectual method of evangelism, which, as it s title suggests,
identifies four spiritual laws that direct an individual s relationship with God. It was created by Dr.
Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, in 1952. The four laws, as sited on
CampusCrusade.com, are: (1) God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. (2) Man is
sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God s love and plan for
his life. (3) Jesus Christ is God s only provision for man s sin. Through Him you can know and
experience God s love and plan for your life. (4) We must individually receive Jesus ... Show more

Further, this approach has disadvantages in that it omits the individual who is not in dire need.
Example, a rich, young entrepreneur who loves life and has minimal lack, may never come in
contact with the service based actions. This is critical in light of 2 Peter 3:9, which seems to
communicate that God is desirous for all humanity to come to Christ not merely those who are
experiencing emotional, financial, educational and physical lack.
Part THREE Evangelistic Method #3
The Way of the Master is a confrontational method of evangelism made popular by Evangelists
Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron of Living Waters. The approach uses the good person test and
asks are you a good person? That question is followed up with a series of questions like, Have you
ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything? The questions correlate to the Ten Commandments
(Exodus 20:2 16). After going over the examination using two or three questions according to the
Ten Commandments, the person being confronted is reminded of their responses (and the
subsequent label that comes with it) and asked whether or not God will find them guilty on the
Day of Judgment and whether they would go to Heaven or Hell. Most often, a brief presentation
the Gospel message follows with a sincere encouragement to repent and trust the Savior.
An advantage to using this message is that it first uses the Law of God (Ten Commandments) to
convince one of the needs

Risks Associated With Risk Management
Typically companies have a higher tolerance for financial risks than operating risks. Financial
risks include risks associated with foreign exchange rates, liquidity, credit decisions and the
operating risks include risks associated with supply chain, information technology. Financial risks
are generally easier to quantify and control as compared to operating risks, many of which are due
to being influenced by external factors out of a company s control. (Compliance week, 2008) The

It is why risk management has assumed a higher significance as well as greater importance than it
had some years ago. (Butcher, 2011) This change is mainly driven by the instability and
convolution of the marketplace. Moreover, the risks to which companies are exposed and their
severity also keeps growing. Companies are now also moving towards appointing a Chief Risk
Officer. In many companies, this responsibility is assigned to the CEO.
In recent changes a few things have become important for companies. The first is connecting risk to
business performance. Companies need to establish processes and mechanisms which link risk to
business performance. Risk management under the present scenario also includes measures like
sophisticated measurement, modeling and analytics for anticipating risks as well as integrating risk
management capabilities with the organizational structure and across business units. Similarly,
developing relationships with regulatory agencies as well as supervising regulation and compliance
has also become important. (Butcher, 2011) Apart from all, detailed training on risk management
and infusing risk awareness across the organization is also important. In short, integrating the risk
function to include it in strategic planning has become crucial to gaining sustainable advantage.

Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems
Data Indexing
Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to
handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL
(Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace
technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object
in CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via
ltree structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way.
This structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes.

All the communication between the master web worker and slave web workers are made in a
message passing fashion. At (2), master web worker distributes the URL list of the data segments
across the slave web workers which are created in the loading event of the web page. onmessage is
an event handler that is called when the message is posted to the corresponding web worker. In
onmessage handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web
worker, then each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage,
again, by means of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the
retrieval of the data segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master
web worker (4). Index of the data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache
created by the master web worker. Because the data is passed to the master web worker using
pointers, there is no data copy overhead. Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval
operations, the master web worker writes out the cache to the hard disk (5). The downside of this
technique the total amount of retrieved data is limited by the RAM capacity of the user, although
we anticipate this feature to be introduced in the future as a part of HTML standard with the
introduction of the File API:

Essay about How Chritianity Affected People in India
How did Christianity affect the people of India?

Religions have been around for many thousands of years. Catholicism is one of the largest
religions in the world. India is a country in Asia, and is a little bigger than Texas, but has over 2
billion people. A 2001 survey showed there to a little over 24 million Christians in India
(Christianity). This topic was appealing to me because I had lived in a boarding school in India
from fourth grade to sixth grade. I had seen the effects of this religion on the people and how they
reacted towards change. I had seen how people adapted to the religion and how people put down
the religion turning to other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. I can relate to these people

Background
The British people had been in India since the 18th century, and had enslaved the people, but
finally left in 1947. Throughout this time, the Indian people were being forced to do things that
the English people did not want to do. The Indian people were enslaved by a much more
powerful nation. The main religion of India is Hinduism. This religion is much more
complicated than many other religions, instead of one main god there are many gods. Many
things that Indian people do have been altered to mean other things (mission frontier). There are
also people that are called demi gods, who somewhat have the power of god and are able to use
their powers whenever they want to. An example of this is a man named khans. He had the
powers of a god because he had prayed for a very long time, and had done something else that is
not very important. During this time there was a god by the name of Krishna whose uncle was
khans. Khans had become evil through the lust of power and Krishna had to stop him (Park). This
shows just one of the many beliefs of the Hindu people. Many people had gone to India to show the
people what Christianity has to offer and many people reaped the benefits. According to one Indian
resident, many of the people that the Christians tried to help were the poor.

An Analysis Of Calvin s Argument For Providence
AN ANALYSIS OF CALVIN S ARGUMENT FOR PROVIDENCE
Calvin on Providence In a time of chaos, the words, God is in control, can bring peace to
believers and non believers alike. This phrase has found its way to bumper stickers, Hallmark
cards, and Facebook post, and in many ways it has become a junk drawer phrase one that we pull
out when we need a comforting clichГ©. When pandemonium breaks loose and we seem to have
lost all control, then it is convenient for God to be in control. But what about when things are not?
What if things are relatively normal. What does it mean for God to be sovereign? This is the
question that has perhaps caused more controversy than any other. For John Calvin, God was
completely sovereign. Nothing outside the will of God could take place, because everything that
has taken place, is taking place, or will take place has been divinely ordained before time began.
God is the source of all good, and evil cannot take place without His permission. According to
Calvin, all of humankind are lost in their sins, and so depraved that they are incapable of finding
salvation without God performing an inner miracle within them. This being said, God has elected
to Himself a chosen people from the beginning of time, not off of merit, but sola gratia.
In Chapter 17 of Book I of Calvin s Institutes of the Christian Religion, Calvin expounds upon how
when it comes to Calvin s view of providence, nothing is more profitable than the knowledge of this

The Russian Revolution And The Revolution
In 1917 a great revolution would collapse Russia s monarchy and extend the color of red throughout
the world. During this time, Leon Trotsky and Vladimir Lenin were instrumental in causing the
grand collapse of the Russian government and the reformation into a communist state. The Russian
revolution changed the world when it happened and I believe it changed the people of Europe after
it occurred.
The Russian Revolution actually has two important parts to it the February Revolution (March
1917) and the October Revolution (November 1917). The February Revolution, which took place in
modern day St. Petersburg, was lethal to the royal government of Russia. It began with the bread, it
was not like they did not have the supplies for the population, the problem was the breakdown of
the transport system (Figes 68). The February Revolution was also largely caused by the
ineffectiveness of the Russian military in World War One and the failure of the Russian empire
throughout the last couple decades. The people of Russia were ashamed of the military
throwing away their lives and having to eat sparingly to survive the winter. Peasants were so
poor they could barely afford a piece of bread for a week. Mass demonstrations were held in the
squares and violence took to the streets. People ambushed the royal guards in front of the palace
and they were shot down by the insignificant force left to guard the capital. The revolution was
largely leaderless as Russian people just wanted food

$989,992.32. The idea of making Mount Rushmore was made in 1923 by Doane Robinson. He
wanted to find a way to attract tourists. His plan worked because three million people visit the

Is Brutus Good Or Bad
Brutus is a very popular figure in Rome which means he could do things that look bad if others
do but he could do and look virtuous. Casca joins Cassius and some other noble Romans in a
plan to execute Caesar. Cassius tells Cinna to take a paper and put it on the judge s chair where
Brutus sits so he will find it, and to throw another paper into his window and to attach another
with wax to the statue of Brutus s ancestor. Only then to return to Pompey s theater, where Cinna
will find them. Cassius and Casca go see Brutus at his house before sunrise. Since the people love
Brutus he could convince some Romans to do quest for him but if the people find out that Brutus
does something bad they could lose some respect for him. Cassius says, Him

Somalia And Its Effects On Somalia
I don t recognize my people anymore. I feel Somalia is lost. There is no Somalia. It is just a
name (Abdi, 2016) . Over the past 20 years Somalia as a country has been in turmoil and constant
fighting. Today s Somalia is still a harsh environment and the people are unforgiving as they too
are trying to survive this oasis of violence. Considering Somalia in the news now we see after
years of fighting and trying to support this country with food, water, and security it has
progressed but not quickly. It has been a battle for any support to the country essentially taking
two steps forward and one step back. In 2012 a new internationally backed government was
installed: Somalia has shown progression but is still being hindered by an Al Qaeda aligned
group, Al Shabaab. Because of this newly backed government Somalia had their first elected
president since 1967. Due to Hassan Sheikh Mohamud winning the popular vote we can see the
country is setting stones to become politically stable. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud had made plans
but shelved next Presidential election due to lack of security in and infrastructure (Somalia
Country profile, 2016). I asses that he could potentially with these new powers behind him change
the way the country is headed for the better. Without more support from the internationally backed
government the president will only be able to do so much for his people and the country. With
Somalia beginning to produce off shore oil and gas on 21 October 2014 they have

Disadvantages Of Completely Randomized Design
The treatments that are assigned completely at random so that each experimental unit has the same
chance of receiving any one treatment is known as, a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). It is
assumed that all experimental units are uniform. Any difference among experimental units
receiving the same treatment in the CRD is considered as experimental error. Thus, Completely
Randomized Design is suitable just for the tests involving homogeneous experimental units, for
example, lab research, where ecological effects are generally easy to control. The CRD is the
simplest of all designs. The replications of treatments are assigned completely at random to
independent experimental subjects. It is equivalent to a t test when only two treatments are... Show

If experimental error is heterogeneous, valid comparisons can still be made.
However there are also few disadvantages of Completely Randomized Block Designs, which are
1.It is not suitable for big number of treatments because blocks become too big.
2.It is not suitable when complete block contains considerable variability.
3.Error df is smaller than that for the CRD (problem with a small number of treatments).
4.If there is a large variation between experimental units within a block, a large error term may
result (this may be due to too many treatments), as interactions between treatment and block effects
increase error.
5.If there are missing data, a CRBD experiment may be less efficient than a CRD
Appropriate use of Completely Randomized Block Designs
It is suitable to use it when there is a known or suspected source of variation in one direction.
Orientation of the blocks to have minimum variation within the block and orientation plots to
sample the entire range of variation within the block.
The CRBD is one of the most widely used designs. If it will control the variation in a particular
experiment, there is no need to use a more complex design. The most important item to consider
when choosing a design is the uniformity of the experimental

Hearing Loss In Canada
The world is full of noise and excessive noise exposure can cause hearing loss. There is more
than 360 million of people are suffering from hearing losses (WHO) and in Canada, around 20%
of the population of the total peoples have this problem (Static Canada). The reason for
increasing the amount of hearing loss is because of the growing number of older people and the
uncontrolled sounds. However, the static Canada shows us that, nearly 42 % peoples are at a risk
of noise induced hearing loss (NIHL), would benefit from putting hearing protection device
(HPD). NIHL is becoming more common nowadays and two factors are more important to damage
our inner and outer hair cell that is sound pressure level and the duration of exposed this noise by...

There are two types of HPDs are available i.e. passive HPDs and active HPDs. In passive hearing
protection, devices provided constant and steady noise attenuation while active hearing protection
devices give communication facility, noise reduction, and amplitude technique. The conventional
passive HPDs reduce the signal power by a fixed amount and do not consider the decibel level
and also do not consider either to be speech signal or the noise. This type of earmuffs and
earplugs interfere the speech communication. There are two types technology for active hearing
aids are presented in the market i.e. analog and digital. The digital signal processing (DSP)
provides some advantages over analog processing such as speed, accuracy, easy to carry out, and
flexibility. Although so many years have passed, first implemented the DSP algorithms in the
HPDs, the user is still not satisfied with the hearing aids and still facing disadvantages, the main
reason is these devices unable to simulate with the human auditory system properly

Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars
Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars
David Guterson s novel Snow Falling on Cedars undoubtedly holds high acclaim in its reputable
attempt to show the prejudice between the Americans and Japanese after World War II and more
importantly the prejudice that is unavoidably apart of human nature. The author of the criticism
recognizes and brings to light the things done by Guterson throughout the novel. He refers to the
animosity between people brought about by differences, the unwillingness to accept change, and
also states that things end in a moral and justified manner.
The author refers to old passions, prejudices, and grudges surfacing throughout the novel taking
place off the Washington coast. In referring to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has not succumbed to the immoral prejudice toward Kabuo because of his origins that the rest
of the community so prevalently upholds. The courthouse as described thought imagery in the
novel is seen as protection from the actual storm taking place outside, but in actually goes much
deeper to represent protection from the storm that is brewing within the interracial community of
San Piedro. The resentment between the cultures has been sheltered and nurtured for so long, but
the courthouse can only protect it for so long before it gives way to the storm. The courthouse
represents the ideal society where equality exists but is being withered and worn by the storm
called prejudice. In reference to the relationship between Hatsue and Ishmael the author states
Kabuo s wife is the undying passion of Ishmael Chambers...he can t shake his obsession for Hatsue
any more than he can ignore the ghost pains in his nonexistent arm. Aside from the main conflict
of prejudice, the conflict between Ishmael and Hatsue s illegitimate relationship is one of the most
passion driven arguments in the book. Ishmael becomes so stuck on the fact that Hatsue is the
only person he will ever love; he loses sight with reality sometimes and remembers the day he was
cut out of Hatsues life just as vividly as the moment his arm was amputated. The magnitude of his
emotion towards her becomes ironic and shows his instability. When he becomes

The Wartime Of The Nuremberg Trials
I.INTRODUCTION
On 8th August, 1945, shortly after the end of World War II in May of 1945, the Allied
governments entered into a joint agreement establishing the International Military Tribunal for the
purpose of trying those responsible for the war atrocities. Whereas some 5,000 Nazi s were
charged with war crimes, the Nuremberg trials were designed specifically to prosecute high ranking
Nazi officials with whom the authority for the commission of heinous atrocities rested.
The Nuremberg Trials would therefore be marked in history as one of its kind. Prior to its
formation, war crimes were limited to the military courts of the individual countries and for the
very first time the Nuremberg Trials would mark the inception of the concept of collective guilt as a
justification for punishment. The four counts of indictment were: Conspiracy to commit crimes
alleged in other counts, crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
This paper seeks to canvass the legacy of the Nuremberg Trial; the legal justifications and
procedural innovations that were once controversial and which through the turn of the century have
now come to be regarded as a milestone towards the application of principles of international law,
establishment of a permanent international criminal court enshrined under the Rome Statute and
setting new precedents for the international community. Furthermore, the author seeks to juxtapose
the legal and political justifications given for the

Macuahuitl Research Paper
The macuahuitl is an ancient Aztec weapon that looks noticeably like a sword but can also be
classified as a club. I, like the macuahuitl, am not defined by one name or classification. My life
is a development of innumerable characteristics. The macuahuitl, on the surface, is a simple
weapon, but it can be broken down to observe its complexities. The macuahuitl has an interesting
history, and it portrays life in general and my personality in more ways than one. The
development of a weapon allows us to peer into its use and the thoughts behind the weapon. The
macuahuitl was made out of a wood plank with a narrow handle and wide paddle. What made it
dangerous was the razor like volcanic rock protruding out of the paddle which acted like a
thousand fire ants biting into the skin. The Aztecs used this weapon as the uttermost important
weapon in their arsenal. Columbus was enchanted by it, which is exemplified by the fact that he
arranged for one to be sent to Spain. The weapon started as a terse, one handed weapon, and it...

I am a Christian, a Caucasian, a male, a student; not one of those classifications are all
encompassing. The macuahuitl could be called more than one thing just like me. The finished
product that is the macuahuitl went through various prototypes and variations. I change
continually, and God is refining me with fire every day. I often wait until the last second to
complete my duties. Likewise, the macuahuitl was used only when enemies were close. I use my
words, actions, and time to the disservice of others, even though I do not kill them. In the same
manner, the macuahuitl was used to harm but not kill. The sole purpose of the macuahuitl was to
defend its user. Furthermore, my sole purpose is to live my life for the glory of my Creator. Even
though the macuahuitl is simple, it has extensive implications in my own

  • 2. Learning Disabilities 1. There is no such thing as a typical student with a learning disability This represents to me how diverse and complex those individuals with learning disabilities can be in their capabilities and in the ways that they need support. They can have a learning disability that affects their academic achievement and memory, along with how they process information, and so much more. One student could have a learning disability that affects their achievement with mathematics but not their reading or language abilities, and vice versa. Short term, long term, and working memory can also be affected to varying degrees, and this will be different from student to student. One thing that is typical of students with learning disabilities is that they would probably have average to above average intelligence. However, their academic achievement often shows a deficit of a lower level of intelligence, depending on where their difficulties or challenges are within academics. Emotionally and socially, students will also range in their abilities to make and keep friends, might have classroom behavior problems, might have anxiety, but also might have no social and emotional struggles at all. To me, it depends greatly on the support that they receive at home starting out and within the school while they are learning. The more we support these students the less likely they will be to have as many social and emotional issues, along with grow and develop academic skills while being held to ... Effect Of Sulfur Dioxide Pollution On Lichen Our findings support the difference in the amounts of traffic between the northern side and southern side of Central Park, with lichens in the southern side more resistant to sulfur dioxide, and with lichens in the northern side more sensitive to sulfur dioxide. Due to the nature of the lichens in the southern side, as they can survive with Nitrogen oxide can also be a harmful pollutant found in large cities. Lichens are affected by the amount of nitrogenous pollutants in an area, similar to how they are affected by sulfur dioxide. In future studies, we could potentially assess both sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide levels in the atmosphere by assessing the lichen population within that area. This would allow us to gather a better sense of the sulfur dioxide pollution in the area of each area of the park. If we were to redo this project, we would have brought sharper tools to use when collecting lichens from Central Park. The knife that we brought was fairly dull and we found that we had a very difficult time removing many of the lichens from the surface which they resided on. Another way we could have further improved our experiment was rather than trying to specifically negate variables ourselves, by collecting in specific areas, have statistics negate them. If we had chose random areas in the park to collect lichens, statistically, it would have negated many of our variables we tried to avoid, and many other lurking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. An Obligation On Self Care an obligation. Self care means balancing a concern for others with a concern for one s own well being... A similar view is held by Eileen Scully who believes that the challenge to be well is rooted in the sacramental promise of communion and baptism. As the Body of Christ is called to completeness, so pastors are called to a new way of life which was fashioned, well ordered and blessed by God and acquired for us through our Lord JesusChrist. Just as the church has come to express a theology of ordained ministry that is rooted in and serves the baptismal ministry shared by the whole church, so too, issues of clergywellness cannot be seen in isolation from the wellness of the whole body. These points of view are echoed by G. Lloyd Rediger who believes that pastors are peculiarly unconcerned about their physical fitness and well being and make less provision for their agendas and time schedules. Their own self care is set aside in favor of other ministry requirements. These obligations intrude and take over the very essence of their beings. Rediger further inserts that there is a theological disconnect when pastors fail to model fitness for their congregation. Pastors have been guilt ridden to denying the body in order to enrich their spirits. Gary Thomas, author of Everybody Matters; Strengthening Your Body to Strengthen your Soul, says, Becoming spiritually and physically fit are two ways that we can grow in our inner and outer strength, as well as in our ... Ultramares requires privity, the accountant has a fiduciary duty only to whom they performed work for or an entity very close to privity. If Ultramares was used by Prosser Bank and the shareholders, it would fail on several requirements, but primarily due to the fact that privity is not present, and the parties existence was unknown to the accountant. Should People with Dementia Be Able To Consent To Having Sex With Their Loved Ones? A big controversy that people around the world argue is whether a person with a mental disability such as, dementia, should continue to have sexual relationships with their lover. Dementia is ...a chronic or persistent disorder of the mental processes caused by brain disease or injury and marked by memory disorders, personality disorders, and impaired reasoning (Google search, dementia definition). On top of all that, the person just, gets away with it with no problems at all and nothing to stop that freak since the person with dementia had no signs of resistance or anything... Another thing, I don t think institutions where it is allowed/encouraged to have sex should be allowed. What if that person has a loved one(s) at home that STILL HAVE A RELATIONSHIP GOING!?!? I understand that intimacy with a person when someone has Dementia can help with the mental disorder, but I just don t think that it seems fair to his/her son /daughter(s) or husband/wife at home who wait all day and night to hear or worries from that person(Dr. Pepper Schwartz, What are our rights when we re not ourselves any more?). I understand how some people may think that humans with Dementia should be able to consent to having sex, but think of it as if, a person is using another person because of their disability. An example of this: So Tom (Husband)and Jackie(Wife who has dementia) live in the same house, right next to them lives Jerry who just moved in and looks like Tom. Tom went out of town for the week and trusted Jerry to take care of her, so Jerry goes check up on her and Jackie forgets that her husband is gone for the week. • 13. The Themes Of Professor Marston And The Wonder Woman Professor Marston and the Wonder Women tells a bold and provocative story about psychologist and college professor William Moulton Marston (Luke Evans), and the behind the scenes realities which led to his conceiving of, and authoring an initial run of comic books, introducing his creation of Wonder Woman to readers of all ages in the 1940s. Prior to that, years before, Marston claimed to be the inventor, along with wife Elizabeth (Rebecca Hall), of the first ever legitimate polygraph, or lie detector machine. The Marstons found that when a participant in the test told a lie, their systolic blood pressure would change, measured by a bar which wrapped around the chest of the individual receiving the test. Wonder Woman fans may recall that the superhero brandishes a lasso, which when wrapped around the chest of a foe, compels them to tell the truth. However, other reasons were in play when we see children s author and psychologist Josette Frank (Connie Britton) grilling Marston over the themes and concepts found in his comic book series in the mid 1940s. In flashback, we learn how Marston worked as a college professor and researcher, alongside his wife, selling his DiSC theory, positing that people express human emotions in four types of ways, through Dominance, Inducement, Submission, and Compliance. Written and directed by Angela Robinson, Professor Marston gets the unconventional structure of the story out of the way early on when Marston becomes instantly attracted to ... The technology was invented by the U.S. Department of Defense, Ivan Getting, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Gray 4). GPS is well known for its military applications and was first used by the U.S. to aid in its global intelligence efforts during the Cold War (Gray 7). However, ever since the early 1980s, the GPS has been easily available to anyone with a GPS receiver. Shipping firms, Airlines, trucking companies, and drivers use this technology to track vehicles or follow the best route from one point to another in the shortest possible time. With a simple tap on a screen, an average individual can find their way via a complex system comprising of satellite technology. Although the GPS technology has its disadvantages, it offers numerous advantages, including job creation, improved economy, and precise military targeting. History of GPS Since it was first invented, the GPS technology has continuously been improved to match the demands of the current society. The first system had five satellites and allowed ships to check their location once every hour. As shown in table 2, acknowledging the need for a more sophisticated method of navigation, the U.S. Department of Defense implemented the next GPS with 24 satellites, launching the project by the 1990s (Sturm 12). When I first arrived at Susquehanna I was a biology major and had dreams of medical school. However, by the end of freshman year, I began to develop an interest in neuroscience. Declaring a major in neuroscience allowed me to explore the components of biology I loved, while incorporating psychologyand chemistry. My research interests developed from my exposure to the various areas of neuroscience through my internships, research experiences and courses. I am currently working on a research project, with the goal of gaining a more thorough understanding of the genes involved in lateral glial cell differentiation in the central nervous system of Drosophila. I conduct genetic crosses to obtain the desired genomes and collect embryos for immunostaining. I examine the expression of a conceptual gene, cg31235, which is solely expressed in longitudinal glial cells, in the presence of the genes Pointed P1 (PntP1) and Reversed Polarity (Repo). Subsequently, I will then use immunostaining to examine the expression of PntP1 and Repo in order to determine whether they regulate the genes involved in the in the development and function of longitudinal glia. And how do you attract a big public without compromising the selfish, private, exclusive time we all want to have in a museum? These questions, put forward by Elizabeth Diller of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, represent the urbanistic motivation supporting the construction of Boston s Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). In such a manner Boston s ICA engages, not only with the urban citizen, but also the urban landscape in which the site is located. The ICA conveys the idea of architecture as art in itself. As a presenter of art to the urban citizen and because of its open design, the inside allows the citizens to not only appreciate the art within the building but also see the art of the building s natural environment and setting. Boston s ICA situated at Fan Pier in South Boston represents a shift from preconceived architectural constructs to more innovative forms. The building s position in the middle of a currently undeveloped urban landscape gives it a striking entity that engages the viewer in a way that facilitates its various functions as a contemporary art museum. Furthermore its structure and location alter the population s understanding of museum architecture as it has traditionally been defined, that it is a shell that contains significant artistic work. Market analysis with direct competitor in the region suggests that studio prices are at least 21% lower and one bedroom suite prices are at least 40% lower than the competition in the new pricing model. Comparison with the general market suggests similar findings. MAIN REPORT In May 2006, Westmount Retirement Residence was having very low profitability. Its very simple pricing model essentially charged each resident the same price per month regardless of their needs. This was due to a change in the patientsВґ demands. In the past, patientsВґ demands were similar and therefore the companyВґs pricing and costing system was appropriate. But changes in the population and in the requirements of the residents caused that the pricing model remained out of date and the costing system inappropriate. One of the problems observed when analyzing the companyВґs situation was that due to the costing system used it was not possible to have a clear picture of how much each of the services offered were costing. Consequently, it was clearly very difficult being able to define a pricing system that will give the shareholders the desired profit. In order to understand the Abu Sayyaf organization its best to know where it originated from then you ll see a bit as to how lethal they are and how deadly they can be to the United States. In the early 1990s the ASG split from the Moro National Liberation Front (M.N.L.F.). They were the two main Muslim groups operating in the southern Philippines. Abu Sayyaf s first major attack happened in 1991, when the Abu Sayyaf group set off a grenade that killed two American evangelists. The ASG was founded by Abdurajak Abubakar Janjalani, he was educated by the Al Islamic Tabligh, a fundamentalist organization funded by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Janjalani became radicalized after studying and traveling to many Muslim countries he was then suspected to have met Osama Bin Laden in 1988 and given $6 million dollars to develop and transform the southern Philippines into an Islamic state. The word Abu meaning father and Sayyaf means Sword Smith, or more easily translated into bearer of the sword in Arabic. The ASG is one the most violent organizations. The plan was intended to mislead the German high command as to the time and place of the invasion. From January 1942 until the end of the war in Europe in 1945, FBI agents and radio technicians lived and worked undercover, secretly transmitting coded messages that the Nazis believed came from their own spies operating in New York. The Nazis believed their operatives were funneling significant details about U.S. forces, munitions, and war preparations. It was created by Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, in 1952. The four laws, as sited on CampusCrusade.com, are: (1) God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. (2) Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God s love and plan for his life. (3) Jesus Christ is God s only provision for man s sin. This is critical in light of 2 Peter 3:9, which seems to communicate that God is desirous for all humanity to come to Christ not merely those who are experiencing emotional, financial, educational and physical lack. Part THREE Evangelistic Method #3 The Way of the Master is a confrontational method of evangelism made popular by Evangelists Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron of Living Waters. The approach uses the good person test and asks are you a good person? That question is followed up with a series of questions like, Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything? The questions correlate to the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2 16). After going over the examination using two or three questions according to the Ten Commandments, the person being confronted is reminded of their responses (and the subsequent label that comes with it) and asked whether or not God will find them guilty on the Day of Judgment and whether they would go to Heaven or Hell. An Analysis Of Calvin s Argument For Providence AN ANALYSIS OF CALVIN S ARGUMENT FOR PROVIDENCE Calvin on Providence In a time of chaos, the words, God is in control, can bring peace to believers and non believers alike. This phrase has found its way to bumper stickers, Hallmark cards, and Facebook post, and in many ways it has become a junk drawer phrase one that we pull out when we need a comforting clichГ©. When pandemonium breaks loose and we seem to have lost all control, then it is convenient for God to be in control. But what about when things are not? What if things are relatively normal. What does it mean for God to be sovereign? This is the question that has perhaps caused more controversy than any other. For John Calvin, God was completely sovereign. Nothing outside the will of God could take place, because everything that has taken place, is taking place, or will take place has been divinely ordained before time began. God is the source of all good, and evil cannot take place without His permission. According to Calvin, all of humankind are lost in their sins, and so depraved that they are incapable of finding salvation without God performing an inner miracle within them. This being said, God has elected to Himself a chosen people from the beginning of time, not off of merit, but sola gratia. The Russian Revolution actually has two important parts to it the February Revolution (March 1917) and the October Revolution (November 1917). The February Revolution, which took place in modern day St. Petersburg, was lethal to the royal government of Russia. It began with the bread, it was not like they did not have the supplies for the population, the problem was the breakdown of the transport system (Figes 68). The February Revolution was also largely caused by the ineffectiveness of the Russian military in World War One and the failure of the Russian empire throughout the last couple decades. The people of Russia were ashamed of the military throwing away their lives and having to eat sparingly to survive the winter. Peasants were so poor they could barely afford a piece of bread for a week. Mass demonstrations were held in the squares and violence took to the streets. • 41. Walk Two Moon Research Paper There were several story lines running through Walk Two Moons. One was the journey Sal took with Gram and Gramps throughout the United States to get to Lewiston, Idaho in one week. They traveled to Lexington, Mount Rushmore, and then to Old Faithful. These tourist attractions are some of the few places Sal, Gram, and Gramps visited on their road trip. Lexington is located in the state of Kentucky. Kentucky is where Sal lived in the beginning of the book before she moved to a different state in the United States. Lexington is the second largest city in Kentucky and has a population of about 318,449 people! It is known as the the horse capital of the world because it is the home of a few major race courses. In Lexington, they have a strange law that you can t put an ice cream cone in your back pocket. This law was made to help reduce horses being stolen. Horses like sweets so they will follow you. People might think that you are stealing their horse and you could even get arrested for doing this act.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The carving of Mount Rushmore took about 14 years with the help of over 400 workers! They thought about doing the four presidents waist up but did not have enough money to do so. As you can see, they started doing George Washington s body. Each president s face is 60 feet tall Dynamite was used, the process they used was called honeycombing. 800 million pounds of granite was removed in the sculpting and the whole entire project costed the United States $989,992.32. The idea of making Mount Rushmore was made in 1923 by Doane Robinson. He wanted to find a way to attract tourists. His plan worked because three million people visit the attraction ... • 42. Is Brutus Good Or Bad Brutus is a very popular figure in Rome which means he could do things that look bad if others do but he could do and look virtuous. Casca joins Cassius and some other noble Romans in a plan to execute Caesar. Cassius tells Cinna to take a paper and put it on the judge s chair where Brutus sits so he will find it, and to throw another paper into his window and to attach another with wax to the statue of Brutus s ancestor. Only then to return to Pompey s theater, where Cinna will find them. Cassius and Casca go see Brutus at his house before sunrise. Since the people love Brutus he could convince some Romans to do quest for him but if the people find out that Brutus does something bad they could lose some respect for him. Cassius says, Him ... • 43. Somalia And Its Effects On Somalia I don t recognize my people anymore. I feel Somalia is lost. There is no Somalia. It is just a name (Abdi, 2016) . Over the past 20 years Somalia as a country has been in turmoil and constant fighting. Today s Somalia is still a harsh environment and the people are unforgiving as they too are trying to survive this oasis of violence. Considering Somalia in the news now we see after years of fighting and trying to support this country with food, water, and security it has progressed but not quickly. It has been a battle for any support to the country essentially taking two steps forward and one step back. In 2012 a new internationally backed government was installed: Somalia has shown progression but is still being hindered by an Al Qaeda aligned group, Al Shabaab. Because of this newly backed government Somalia had their first elected president since 1967. Due to Hassan Sheikh Mohamud winning the popular vote we can see the country is setting stones to become politically stable. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud had made plans but shelved next Presidential election due to lack of security in and infrastructure (Somalia Country profile, 2016). I asses that he could potentially with these new powers behind him change the way the country is headed for the better. Without more support from the internationally backed government the president will only be able to do so much for his people and the country. With Somalia beginning to produce off shore oil and gas on 21 October 2014 they have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Disadvantages Of Completely Randomized Design The treatments that are assigned completely at random so that each experimental unit has the same chance of receiving any one treatment is known as, a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). It is assumed that all experimental units are uniform. Any difference among experimental units receiving the same treatment in the CRD is considered as experimental error. Thus, Completely Randomized Design is suitable just for the tests involving homogeneous experimental units, for example, lab research, where ecological effects are generally easy to control. The CRD is the simplest of all designs. The replications of treatments are assigned completely at random to independent experimental subjects. It is equivalent to a t test when only two treatments are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If experimental error is heterogeneous, valid comparisons can still be made. However there are also few disadvantages of Completely Randomized Block Designs, which are 1.It is not suitable for big number of treatments because blocks become too big. 2.It is not suitable when complete block contains considerable variability. 3.Error df is smaller than that for the CRD (problem with a small number of treatments). 4.If there is a large variation between experimental units within a block, a large error term may result (this may be due to too many treatments), as interactions between treatment and block effects increase error. 5.If there are missing data, a CRBD experiment may be less efficient than a CRD Appropriate use of Completely Randomized Block Designs It is suitable to use it when there is a known or suspected source of variation in one direction. Orientation of the blocks to have minimum variation within the block and orientation plots to sample the entire range of variation within the block. The CRBD is one of the most widely used designs. If it will control the variation in a particular experiment, there is no need to use a more complex design. The most important item to consider when choosing a design is the uniformity of the experimental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Hearing Loss In Canada The world is full of noise and excessive noise exposure can cause hearing loss. There is more than 360 million of people are suffering from hearing losses (WHO) and in Canada, around 20% of the population of the total peoples have this problem (Static Canada). The reason for increasing the amount of hearing loss is because of the growing number of older people and the uncontrolled sounds. However, the static Canada shows us that, nearly 42 % peoples are at a risk of noise induced hearing loss (NIHL), would benefit from putting hearing protection device (HPD). NIHL is becoming more common nowadays and two factors are more important to damage our inner and outer hair cell that is sound pressure level and the duration of exposed this noise by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are two types of HPDs are available i.e. passive HPDs and active HPDs. In passive hearing protection, devices provided constant and steady noise attenuation while active hearing protection devices give communication facility, noise reduction, and amplitude technique. The conventional passive HPDs reduce the signal power by a fixed amount and do not consider the decibel level and also do not consider either to be speech signal or the noise. This type of earmuffs and earplugs interfere the speech communication. There are two types technology for active hearing aids are presented in the market i.e. analog and digital. The digital signal processing (DSP) provides some advantages over analog processing such as speed, accuracy, easy to carry out, and flexibility. Although so many years have passed, first implemented the DSP algorithms in the HPDs, the user is still not satisfied with the hearing aids and still facing disadvantages, the main reason is these devices unable to simulate with the human auditory system properly ... • 46. Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars Critical Response to David Guterson s Snow Falling on Cedars David Guterson s novel Snow Falling on Cedars undoubtedly holds high acclaim in its reputable attempt to show the prejudice between the Americans and Japanese after World War II and more importantly the prejudice that is unavoidably apart of human nature. The author of the criticism recognizes and brings to light the things done by Guterson throughout the novel. He refers to the animosity between people brought about by differences, the unwillingness to accept change, and also states that things end in a moral and justified manner. The author refers to old passions, prejudices, and grudges surfacing throughout the novel taking place off the Washington coast. In referring to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has not succumbed to the immoral prejudice toward Kabuo because of his origins that the rest of the community so prevalently upholds. The courthouse as described thought imagery in the novel is seen as protection from the actual storm taking place outside, but in actually goes much deeper to represent protection from the storm that is brewing within the interracial community of San Piedro. The resentment between the cultures has been sheltered and nurtured for so long, but the courthouse can only protect it for so long before it gives way to the storm. The courthouse represents the ideal society where equality exists but is being withered and worn by the storm called prejudice. In reference to the relationship between Hatsue and Ishmael the author states Kabuo s wife is the undying passion of Ishmael Chambers...he can t shake his obsession for Hatsue any more than he can ignore the ghost pains in his nonexistent arm. Aside from the main conflict of prejudice, the conflict between Ishmael and Hatsue s illegitimate relationship is one of the most passion driven arguments in the book. Ishmael becomes so stuck on the fact that Hatsue is the only person he will ever love; he loses sight with reality sometimes and remembers the day he was cut out of Hatsues life just as vividly as the moment his arm was amputated. • 47. The Wartime Of The Nuremberg Trials I.INTRODUCTION On 8th August, 1945, shortly after the end of World War II in May of 1945, the Allied governments entered into a joint agreement establishing the International Military Tribunal for the purpose of trying those responsible for the war atrocities. Whereas some 5,000 Nazi s were charged with war crimes, the Nuremberg trials were designed specifically to prosecute high ranking Nazi officials with whom the authority for the commission of heinous atrocities rested. The Nuremberg Trials would therefore be marked in history as one of its kind. Prior to its formation, war crimes were limited to the military courts of the individual countries and for the very first time the Nuremberg Trials would mark the inception of the concept of collective guilt as a justification for punishment. The four counts of indictment were: Conspiracy to commit crimes alleged in other counts, crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity. This paper seeks to canvass the legacy of the Nuremberg Trial; the legal justifications and procedural innovations that were once controversial and which through the turn of the century have now come to be regarded as a milestone towards the application of principles of international law, establishment of a permanent international criminal court enshrined under the Rome Statute and setting new precedents for the international community. Furthermore, the author seeks to juxtapose the legal and political justifications given for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Macuahuitl Research Paper The macuahuitl is an ancient Aztec weapon that looks noticeably like a sword but can also be classified as a club. I, like the macuahuitl, am not defined by one name or classification. My life is a development of innumerable characteristics. The macuahuitl, on the surface, is a simple weapon, but it can be broken down to observe its complexities. The macuahuitl has an interesting history, and it portrays life in general and my personality in more ways than one. The development of a weapon allows us to peer into its use and the thoughts behind the weapon. The macuahuitl was made out of a wood plank with a narrow handle and wide paddle. What made it dangerous was the razor like volcanic rock protruding out of the paddle which acted like a thousand fire ants biting into the skin. The Aztecs used this weapon as the uttermost important weapon in their arsenal. Columbus was enchanted by it, which is exemplified by the fact that he arranged for one to be sent to Spain.
