Paulo Coelho The Alchemist Analysis
Many people have various connections with some place, person, or object. People as living machines
of knowledge at the very top of the food chain are more advanced than any other creature on earth.
Men tend to have many connections with faith, places, objects and even ideas, though the one
connection above all is with another person who follows the same idea and the final conclusion. In the
book The Alchemist By Paulo Coelho two people are fed the words of Personal legend, and The Soul
of the World. Santiago a shepherd boy, and an Englishman whom both are on a journey to achieve the
greatest any man can achieve, understand The Soul of the World and interpret it. Furthermore live on

The Multiplier Online Games ( Mog )
1. Introduction:
Multiplier Online Games (MOG) are one kind of real time applications. These are developed using
either centralized architecture (Client Server Architecture) also known as traditional architecture or
using distributed architecture (Peer to Peer Architecture). Some games are developed using a
combination of these two architectures known as Mirrored Server Architecture (Hsu, Ling, Li, Kuo,
2003). In general, games are two types. One is role based playing games where players role is fixed.
Other is real time strategy based games where player s actions dynamic. The Quake, Galaxy Star
Wars, EVE, Warcraft are some examples of multiplayer online games (Merabti Rhalibi, 2004). For
entertainment purpose and for a virtual experience, people are showing greater interest in MOG. In
recent years, organizations started to using distributed architecture or Peer to Peer (P P) architecture
for developing MOG due to its robustness, scalability, and flexibility. The well known traditional
client server architecture has limited scalability and robustness and it requires the high cost to
maintain servers when online players are massive (Merabti Rhalibi, 2004).
The MOG requires two kinds of platforms. One is physical platform contain hardware and network.
Another is logical platform focuses on system architecture such as software development for players
and hosts according to hardware management. The theme of the logical platform is providing best

History Of The Steam Engine
During the early 1770s James Watt, a British inventor, made changes to the existing steam engine by
creating an engine that was not water powered. Watt hoped that the steam engine would be four times
as powerful as earlier models, allowing factories to work more efficiently. Using the steam engine,
Robert Fulton and George Stephenson made different modes of transportation for people and cargo.
Fulton created the first steam powered boat that took people and cargo along the Hudson river.
Similarly, Stephenson constructed a locomotive that carried large hauls over large distances.
An eyewitness from the event, 10 years ago, said, The steam engine that Watt has come up with is not
only extremely efficient, but has also created an influx of jobs in the manufacturing industry . Many
workers were called together to build railroads, construct canals, and even build ... Show more content

These critics also believe that the flow of people creates a greater demand for products which is
sustained by both the labor supply as well as the steam engine that decreased the time and cost that
factories had to spend on making these products. Urban cities created centers that offered a leisure
time for those who were living in the city hoping to ease the stress of the worker class.
Skeptics point to the fact that although leisure time was implemented, there were also problems with
the new steam engine as well as population growth. Builders were sometimes unable to build houses
fast enough to accommodate the incoming peoples and factories run by steam engines caused
pollution. Critics further state that this made living conditions horrifying and made for more
dangerous workplaces. The steam engine had its many impacts, but one can only believe in their own
opinion when it comes to deciding whether the steam engine helped or harmed

Pros And Cons Of Gambling Addiction
Gambling addiction can be a serious a problem, for some more than others. Some have the self control
to know when enough is enough, and then some don t. After reading the article it is safe to say that
Mr. Watanabe had some serious issues. Not only did he have a serious gambling problem, he also had
a drinking and drug problem. These two together is not a good combination. This was not your normal
gambling issue, this was the biggest loss in Vegas history of 127 million dollars! Seeing this from an
outsider s perspective, there are two different ways you can look at the situation. You can either feel
sorry for him and feel that he was treated wrongly and unlawfully, or one can feel no remorse for him
and that he brought it all upon himself. After much thought, I have a firm stance that what was going
on in those casinos was one, illegal and two, outright just wrong. Mr. Watanabe was absolutely taken
advantage of.
As a young boy Mr. Watanabe had a wealthy family was a very successful business man and was a
chief executor of his father s business by the age of 20. After years of owning this business he sold it
for millions and decided he wanted to have fun for a while and be stress free. Gambling is fun, right?
He began gambling at a Harrah s casino in Iowa back in 2003. He was one of the casinos biggest
gamblers at the casino and everyone knew him very well there. He had also traveled to Vegas to
gamble and that s where his serious gambling, drug and alcohol abuse began.

Causes Of Unemployment In The Great Depression
Throughout history both political parties have struggled with many obstacles in governmental policy.
One policy issue that has been apart of both political platforms for years is unemployment. The
unemployment of the American citizen has been high since the beginning of the Great Depression.
Because of high unemployment rates, the American economy has been spiraling into debt now
reaching seven trillion dollars. This has led both political parties to take aim at one another, blaming
the opposition for the social and economical distress. The problem of wide spread unemployment is
prominent in political platforms throughout the years.
After the stock markets crashed in 1929, the United States was faced with an economical battle it had
never seen before. Unemployment was at an all time high because banks were closing and the
American dollar was seemingly meaningless. This brought on mass hysteria and caused chaos
throughout the American population. The American public started looking to the leaders of this
country for answers. They couldn t find jobs, and what jobs they did find were paying them almost
nothing. The public wanted this problem fixed. During the 1932 election, both the democratic and
republican parties addressed the high unemployment brought on by the depression. The Democratic
nominee, Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR), was convinced that this problem was the fault of the former
president and Republican nominee, for the 1932 election, Herbert Hoover. In his parties

Government Apologies In Canada
In A Sorry State by Mitch Miagawa, Brian Mulroney is quoted as saying, Apologies are the only way
to cleanse the past. There is controversy surrounding whether this quotation can be taken as truth or
fiction. Government apologies have become a very common staple in Canadian society, and in my
opinion, have been drained of their meaning. Mulroney s statement is simply not reflective of the
values and beliefs of majority of Canadians. Words cannot and will not accurately heal and reconcile
all affected parties.
Brian Mulroney implies that apologies are the only way to move forward. Referring to his apology for
the Canadian Residential School System on behalf of the Canadian government, Stephen Harper states
that it will be a positive step ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apologies are for the person or group that is making amends, not for the person or group that was
negatively affected. The apology lifts the weight of burden off of the redressing parties shoulders,
allowing them to suddenly state, Not my problem. The attempt to make amends can are just words
nothing more. Actions speak louder than words and healing is not an easy process, as First Nations
journalist James Sinclair describes in his article, To Own Ourselves, Money, resources, and time may
help, but none of these will ultimately do the job. Referring to the healing process, he continues by
voicing that No apology, no words, and certainly no time in parliament will give healing. Likewise,
apologies cannot re write the past, let alone cleanse the past. It is crucial to not part with history, and
to positively re build trust and relationships, therefor making both ends meet. Reconciliation must take
place by educating other generations. In other words, the government must not just say sorry, they
must be sorry. When discriminatory and prejudiced behaviours take place, it is obvious that apologies
are more of a formality than a genuine expression of regret. Full closure may never be reached, nor
will an apology alleviate pain experienced by those who are negatively

Fashion And Gender Roles In Gabrielle Roy s The Tin Flute
Publications based upon historical fiction are written to yield readers with an opinion or perception
into history. Gabrielle Roy s The Tin Flute portrayal exhibits facts to fit onto the story in a clever
demeanor, The Tin Flute dramatization with love and betrayal helps create excitement about history.
Implementing that excitement can preview readers to factual accounts of history in an entertaining
way. Fashion seemed to play an essential role in the identification of classes; Srigley implements
fashion as an essential attribute. Due to the constant condemnation and disapproval from the state,

Working women also provided domestic help (39) within households, Srigley states that as daughters
were taking on greater economic roles, brothers and other family members did not assume more
domestic responsibilities(48). This was also the case in The Tin Flute; the primary breadwinner
Azarius, he had shown a tendency to give up a sure thing for a gamble (41). Domestic duties within a
household were still primarily the woman s job even with the additional array s of duties. Women in
general completed all the duties in The Tin Flute; Eugene(Florentine s brother) came home only to eat
and sleep, and received nothing from him but clothes that needed mending (44). The similarity in the

European Influence in Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, presents the result of colonization of the Ibo people by the
European missionaries. The Ibo culture is threatened to change by the European influence. Villagers
are divided between resisting a new lifestyle or embracing it for better opportunities in society. The
struggle to keep Ibo traditions alive is reflected in Okonkwo and Obierika s relationship to one
another. Okonkwo represents the resistance of change by keeping traditional values in high regard
while, Obierika signifies the openness to opportunity by questioning the current Ibo values. The
arrival of European missionaries persuades the exchange of traditional Ibo methods, customs, and
community for Christianity, resulting in the community to fall apart. Before the arrival of European
influence, villagers of Umuofia had a single option for a way of life. It was a place to be feared,
dominated by war and violent practices. Ibo culture is centered on a patriarchal system based on
hierarchy; the highest titles held by male egwugwu in the legal system and the osu at the bottom. The
main character, Okonkwo, represents the ambition to strive for a higher position in society in order to
gain status: His life had been ruled by a great passion to become one of the lords of the clan (131).
Another aspect in Ibo culture is the representation of women. They are undermined in order for men to
achieve success; bride prices are used to able men to marry more than one wife and husbands are

Who Is The Antagonist In The Silence Of The Lambs
Part One: Director Writer
The Silence of the Lambs is directed by Jonathan Demme, with the screenplay written by Ted Tally
and the novel it is based on (of the same name) written by Thomas Harris. Other notable films directed
by Jonathan Demme include Philadelphia (1993) and The Manchurian Candidate (2004). Ted Tally
has also written the screenplays for Red Dragon (2002), All the Pretty Horses (2000), and The Juror
(1996), in addition to being a creative consultant for the popular movies Shrek the Third (2007) and
Madagascar (2005).
Part Two: Narrative Devices
In The Silence of the Lambs, there are many narrative devices used and several parallel stories. The
first parallel story is of FBI agent in training Clarice Starling s interactions with cannibalistic serial
killer and psychiatrist Hannibal Lector as she attempts to get him to give her information. This is
where the other parallel story comes into play Clarice (and the rest of the FBI) are trying to catch
another serial killer (this one still on the loose), Buffalo Bill. Because Hannibal has knowledge of
and/or is capable of profiling Bill, these two stories continue to interact as Clarice (and the ... Show

based on the other characters trying to stop him from killing anyone else, and many conflicts arise
between him and each of these characters in the movie: the FBI trying to stop him, Clarice and Jack
trying to profile him, and his kidnap victims trying to survive/escape, especially Catherine Martin. The
other main conflict in the film is between Clarice and Hannibal. Hannibal is a murderer and cannibal,
but Clarice becomes psychologically drawn to him, and he forces her to tell him about herself in order
to gain information about Buffalo Bill. Additionally, Hannibal creates conflict when he continues to
kill other people from behind bars and later

Example Of The Unsung Heros
Some people view a hero as a man that saves a child from a burning building, or a man that stops the
robber at the bank. Although they re not wrong a hero can be much more, most heros go unheard of
and are not rewarded. On the other hand some heros do get noticed for their courageous acts and are
rewarded with a medal or other objects that signified they have helped the world. The hero s I want to
show you are some of the unsung heros that did great things. I define a hero as being a self sacrificing,
determined, and a brave ordinary person.
Ever seen a hero sacrifice himself for others, if so this is probably a hero like John roberts who put his
life on the line for the greater good. This section of hero usually results in the death of one man to
save many. This example from Listverse.com about 1st Lieutenant John Robert in WW2 shows just
that. Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient and Prince look a like 1st Lieutenant John Robert Fox
was directing artillery fire in the Italian town of Sommocolonia to stall a German advance. While Fox
was directing fire, a large German force moved in on his position.Realising that this force was a huge
threat to his men, Fox called a final artillery strike on himself. When his men eventually retook the
position, Fox s body was found next to approximately 100 dead German troops and a medal was
placed neatly on his chest. This is truly moving who knows if he didn t sacrifice himself it could have
turned the tide for WW2.

Falcata
Paraserianthes falcataria Southeast Asia s Growth Champion By whatever common or scientific
names it is known, Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen is a valuable multipurpose tree for the humid
tropics. One of the fastest growing of all tree species, it is used for pulp and other wood products,
fuelwood, ornamental plantings and shade for coffee, tea and cattle. Potential uses for which it is
being tested include alley farming and intercropping in forest plantations. BOTANY: Falcataria
belongs to the Leguminosae (subfamily: Mimosoideae). It is most widely known by its former
name,Albizia falcataria but it also has been called A. moluccana and A. falcata. Falcate means curved
like a sickle, referring to its leaflets. Leaves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
USES: Falcataria is perhaps best known as a pulp crop (NAS 1979, Hu 1987). Other wood uses
include fiber and particle board, packing cases, boxes, matches, chop sticks and light furniture. Wood
is difficult to saw and not strong or durable. Its thin crown provides partial shade to coffee, tea, and
cacao. It also is used as a windbreak for bananas. Trials in Hawaii have indicated its usefulness as an
intercrop with eucalyptus, especially in wetter areas. After four years, eucalyptus grown with
falcataria in a 50:50 mixture at a spacing of 2 x 2 m were 58% taller and 55% larger in DBH than in
pure eucalyptus stands (Schubert 1985). In other trials with 34 and 50% falcataria, total biomass was
equal to or better than that of pure stands (Schubert et al 1988). Falcataria also shows potential in alley
farming. In a trial on acid soils (pH 4.2) in Indonesia, trees were managed in hedges 4 m apart and
produced 2 3 dry tons of green leaf manure/ha/yr. Application of falcataria green leaf manure doubled
upland rice yields and more than quadrupled cowpea yields as compared to control plots (Evensen et
al 1987). In 1988, however, concerns surfaced about the longevity of falcataria in alley cropping
systems (Evensen, pers. comm.). Falcataria also is grown as an ornamental, although it seldom lives
more than 50 years (APCF 1987) and its brittle branches can be a problem in windy areas. Raharjo
and Cheeke (1985)

incident on September 2nd (CDC 2012b). The FDA found that 9 of 10 cantaloupes tested positive for
L. monocytogenes (FDA 2012). Then on the 10th of September, the CDPHE and the FDA visited
Jensen Farms to test the production facility (CDC 2012b). 39 samples were taken from various points

From September 24th to October 6th, grocery stores from across the United States, including New
York and Kansas remove mixed cut fruit containers from shelves (CDC 2012b). When the outbreak
was deemed over, the CDC (2012b) advises consumers to eat melon right away or refrigerate it; once
it is cut, melon should stay in the refrigerator no longer than 7 days; and to discard melon that has
been left at room temperature for longer than 4 hours. The FDA (2012) then reminds people that since
L. monocytogenes can grow at 4°C, keeping foods in the refrigerator for extended periods of time can
allow for it to grow. It is advised that the consumer wash their hands before and after handling food
for at least 20 seconds with warm water and soap, to clean up spills in the refrigerator immediately,
and to wash the inside of the refrigerator, cutting boards, and countertops regularly with hot water and
one tablespoon of chlorine bleach, and then wiped down with a dry and clean towel or cloth (FDA

The Maltreatment Of Children During The 21st Century
The maltreatment of children in the 21st century is a very major issue. Due to maltreatment, children
are running away from home, being trafficked into the sex business, and sometimes, lose their life due
to a lack of parental supervision and/or loved ones who care about their well being. Through
volunteering at a missing children s program with Sam s Club, I ve learned first hand just how
detrimental maltreatment in our society can be and how we must do everything in our power to
prevent children from being exposed to maltreatment, provide them with safe and loving
environments, and finally, do all we can to rescue and children that are taken or trafficked and place
them in safe environments. In this paper, there will be an exploration of maltreatment of children,
including statistics of children who go missing and types of maltreatment, specifically sex trafficking,
measures used to find missing children, and finally, what happens to children who go missing, their
professions, lifestyles, and quality of life. Child maltreatment is essentially a synonym for child abuse,
which is the abuse or neglect or any act or series of acts, regardless of commission or omission by a
caregiver, which can result in the harm or threat of a child s life. Child maltreatment is one of the
leading reasons why children go missing. These instances of maltreatment are very much the reason
why in 2015, there were 13,700 kids to go missing and over 4.4 million cases of children being
exploited,

Understanding And Understanding Of Physical, Social And...
Standard 1: Know students and how they learn As every individual is unique, getting to understand the
students characteristics, knowledge and cultural background are essential requirements for
encouraging their development and learning (Arthur, Beecher, Death, Dockett Farmer, 2012). In order
to achieve the above requirements, a strong and positive relationship with students is the effective way
for teachers to build up a holistic picture of a student (Groundwater Smith, Ewing Le Cornu, 2015a;
Nixon Gould, 2005). The various recorded interactions and observations between teachers and
students made during the professional experience, have helped me to understand how students learn
and have strengthened my ability to plan and implement lessons (Arthur et al., 2012). 1.1 Demonstrate
knowledge and understanding of physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of
student There are many factors that influence students participation in learning. Some examples of
these factors include the learning atmosphere of the school, teaching strategies and the student s
capabilities (Groundwater Smith, et al., 2015b; Nixon Gould, 2005). In order for students to complete
different tasks during lessons, it is important that teachers present clear and concise instructions.

Media Self Esteem
At times, it can be hurtful when we do not get that attention that our friends get on social media as this
makes us feel as if we are nothing in this world. Michelle Linker can be equated with approval or self
esteem as she was a daily user of Instagram. She told her guardian that she feels anxiety over the likes
she got after she posted her pictures on his Instagram page. She said that she got only two likes and
she would ask herself what was really wrong with her. This greatly influenced her and lowered her self
esteem because she felt low and considered herself as a child of a lesser God compared to her
followers. In reality, when we all post something such as pictures of our own and don t get a lot of
likes, we always feel rejected which ultimately causes our self esteem to take a hit. This will always
affect our mind as a lot of question will ring each moment why we can be rejected. When we get likes
on our pages of Instagram or Facebook, the reward system in the brain is activated, and thus releases
dopamine, which causes individuals to associate likes with the same pleasure we may get or feel from
taking narcotics or any other drug that when you take, you feel well (Lin et al. 326).
Each moment we spend on social media sites such as Facebook and compare ourselves to others, the
more our self esteem lowers and the more we also get depressed. The worst part is that we forget to
take into account that a lot of what we see, particularly from celebrities and brands, is

Same Kind Of Different As Me By Ron Hall And Denver Moore
Same Kind of Different as Me, by Ron Hall and Denver Moore was a very easy read. In this short
story there are many controversial topics that are touched on. Although it was an easy read, I thought
it was very intellectually stimulating. This book made me question my faith and my actions, which
then ultimately lead to improvements and understandings in my own life. I do not think the formatting
was done all that well, but somehow the two separate authors seemed to complement each other in
alternating chapters. This book made me feel good and had lots of meaningful moments. I even teared
up a little when certain events happened (not a spoiler). This book also makes apparent some issues
that many people do not even realize. It has a very good

Death Vs Religion
Over the past ten weeks, there has been a hefty amount of information about how different religions
deal with subjects regarding human nature. If the is true if God and Gods exist, evil and good, and
numerous ceremonies that are important to accomplish. The first topic that I found the most
stimulating and educational is how different religions handle the thought of death and if there is life
after death or remaining life is nothingness. The distress of death is one of the most common causes
and effects of anxiety and is customary even in individuals who do not experience the normal
symptoms of anxiety (Collett Lester, 1969) and the ultimate part of this is facing the indefinite
possibilities. Religion throughout history has tried to assuage this concern by explaining what happens
after death while also working it into the education of good, evil, morality, and ... Show more content

Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism are some of the most widespread faiths that follow this belief
pattern, calling it samsara, which is the (karma run helm of birth, death, and reawakening) (Fisher,
2014). They believe that the body is born repeatedly but that karma is carried onto the new form.
Good karma forming is when the individual implements good deeds throughout their life and negative
karma forming is when the individual does evil deeds during the course of one s life, that not only
distresses the person during their current life span but also all impending reincarnations. This idea of
karma is used to explain many facets of a person s life as their ambiance in their present life and all
former lives will form what happens in their life. What is most fascinating is that the objective for the
persons that shadow this route is not to have respectable lives born of virtuous karma but as a
substitute halt this point though various lifespans of good

5. Scope of Use
5.1. Advantages
India is a country with a large population well versed with vernacular languages but not fluent in
English. A Marathi to English translation system will be helpful to the Marathi speaking population
who need to converse in English. Lot of documents, scripts and scriptures in Marathi also need to be
translated to English and this process is manual. Marathi to English translation system will help to
automate this process and help reduce manual work related to translation.
5.2. Limitations
Considering the number of rules [2] to be included in the system, it is not possible to achieve perfect
translations for each and every sentence. There might be some disambiguation present in some
sentence translations. It is also language specific and cannot be used for translation of any other
language pair. It is also limited to sentences in the domain of the project and cannot be used for

Are Writing Skills Necessary In The Work Force Analysis
I believe writing skills are necessary in the work force. For example if I was sent out on a job to go
and fix someone s computer, I would have to record and document data for my job. It is a necessity for
two reasons, one to explain to the customer what I had done to their computer, and what they should
do in order to prevent the matter from happening again. Secondly I would use my documentation to
prove my worth to my boss, in order to show what I do on the job, and why I am an asset to the

Social Roles In Leo Tolstoy s Anna Karenina
Leo Tolstoy s Anna Karenina is a novel that centers around the affairs and deeds of a group Russian
nobles during the reformations of late 1800s. While the main affair of the story between the titular
Anna Karenina and her lover Alexei Vronsky takes the centers stage, Tolstoy was not hesitant to show
how the changes within the real Russian society affected the nobles inside the novel of his novel.
Characters such Vronsky, Alexei Karenin, Konstantin Lëvin, and Stepan Oblonsky, or Stiva , each live
their own lives within the upper echelons of social class and live with a mix of a rigid regimen within
their social caste or a carefree lifestyle and react differently as the events of the story and real life

representing a different set of views and opinions that affect each other though the novels in various
different ways depending on their social positions. Even their own interpersonal relationships are
affected both intnetinally and un intentionally by their own stances and opinions on real life reforms
that Tolstoy uses as both a motivator and a backdrop within his novel. To start off with, Alexei
Karenin represents an aristocratic government who s a staunch believer within maintaining the status

Persuasive Essay About Running
Running is a physically demanding sport. If you are looking for a way to get in shape, then you should
consider running. Running uses every muscle in your body because you are engaging every aspect of
yourself in the activity. Also, running is a great way to incorporate more cardio into your workout.
Running is not just about getting in shape and staying shape; but running involves many fun activities
and sports.
Some sports that involve running are track and cross country. If you are a competitive individual, then
you should consider track or cross country. If you are a more laid back individual, then you can take
into consideration mud runs or glow/color runs. Those events are always fun, and you get dirty while
participating in the event. Running is a good way to get in shape and have fun doing so, but before
you begin running, you need to know the basics of how to begin.
The first step to begin running is to start with runs/walks. You will start by adding one minute of
running for every four minutes of walking. Gradually increase your running time, so that eventually
you will be running for twice the amount of time that you spend walking. Also, interval running is a
good beginners workout. You start by jogging for one minute, then walking for one minute, then you
should increase the time by one minute each time until you are running for five minutes and walking
for five minutes. The technique you choose should be most comfortable to you.
However, you need to be

1945 President Harry S. Truman decided to drop two atomic bombs on Japan. Truman s decision to
drop the bombs saved many American lives, instead of sending good soldiers on the ground to attack

Nagasaki and Hiroshima were two of the cities that had the biggest concentration of Japanese soldiers.
Dropping the bombs on the heavily militarized cities forced the Japanese to surrender. Immediately,

Process Of Child Sexual Abuse
Childhood is a period in a person s life that is a time to learn through play and is often regarded as
carefree of any worries due to the innocent nature of children. . However, some children are not as
lucky to have joyful memories of childhood. Many children are negatively impacted early in life by
being sexually abused which scars their path to adulthood, thus creating victimization and trauma
(Burgess et al. 2013). Any sexual touching of children, also non touching such as showing, hearing, or
feeling anything sexual, is an offense defined as child sexual abuse ( Child Sexual Abuse , 2017).

The first thing that happens when abuse occurs to a child, the parent get in contact with the police to
report the incident. The police at some point need to make sure the child gets medical attention to
determine the extent of the abuse (The Investigation Process of Child Sexual Abuse, 2017).The police
then start to interview the child to get information of what happened from the child s perspective.
Child sexual abuse cases can be complex because they take time to put all the pieces of information
together, which can easily cause an error during the investigation. The interviewing process for
children is difficult because the same techniques that are used on adults are used for children as well.
The interview then becomes unpleasant and uncomfortable for the child confusing the child and
putting the case information at jeopardy because the child will not say much. Investigators also
interview anyone who has or had contact with the child victim before the incident such as the parents
and anyone else. Interviewing the child s father and mother can support or deny any allegations that
have been made by the child. The interview with the victim s father and mother can help with
gathering crucial information about the case. After speaking with the mother, father, and child, the
alleged offender (if not mother or father) is the next to speak with police. Investigators must take into
consideration that an offender will try to make it seem like the child is telling a lie and the allegations
made are not true. On some occasions an offender might admit to the allegations of the child. After
speaking with the offender, investigators have to determine if the child is still at risk for being sexually
abused again, and look out for the well being of the child. A child abuse case can sometimes become
resolved, but is never really closed due to the impact is has on the child s

Fragmentation In Health Care
I take the term to mean having multiple decision makers make a set of health care decisions that
would be made better through unified decision making. Individual decision makers responsible for
only one fragment of a relevant set of health care decisions may fail to understand the full picture,
may lack the power to take all the appropriate actions given what they know, or may even have
affirmative incentives to shift costs onto others. All these forms of fragmentation can lead to bad
health care decisions. Fragmentation can occur along many dimensions. Looking at the narrowest
dimension, we might be concerned about fragmentation in treating particular illnesses, such as the
lack of coordination among the various professionals involved in treating ... Show more content on

Given that we are talking about medicine, it makes sense to begin by asking: are there sound medical
or scientific reasons for the current fragmentation of U.S. health care. The fact that other nations have
far more integrated health care systems and hospitals dominated by salaried doctors, and achieve
similar or better health results at lower cost, belies any claim that medicine or science inherently
requires U.S. levels of disintegration. This same fact seems inconsistent with the claim that the
sociology of the medical profession inherently requires such fragmentation. Further, Institute of
Medicine studies of the U.S. system have condemned fragmentation because it leads to more medical
errors, meaning that, if anything, sound medicine and science cuts in the opposite direction and is
being overwhelmed by other causes. This much may seem obvious, but it has an important
implication. If medical or scientific reasons are not driving current health care fragmentation, it is
unlikely that fragmentation is going to be cured by studies that show how it leads to medical errors, by
analyses demonstrating medically optimal team methods, or by new information technologies that
help hospitals and physicians coordinate better. Those may help at the margins, but to really tackle
fragmentation we are going to have to address the underlying structural cause that has been driving
U.S. health care to levels of disintegration that are medically

Last Night I Dreamed of Peace is a Diary Composed by...
Last Night I Dreamed of Peace is a diary composed by Doctor Dang Thuy Trâm who served as a
battlefield medic during the Vietnam War. Dang Thuy Trâm was twenty four when she volunteered to
serve as a doctor in a makeshift clinic for the National Liberation Front (the Viet Cong) in Quang Ngai
Province. Last Night I Dreamed of Peace is the diary Trâm kept of her experiences while serving in
the field. Her diary covers the period of April 1968 until her death by American soldiers in June 1970.
Dang Thuy Trâm s diary demonstrates how the enemy is human yet what she is fighting for is far
more substantial than what the American s fight for. Trâm s diary is much more than the story of one
young woman on the battlefield. Last Night I Dreamed of Peace provides an insight into Vietnamese
life during the war as well as the motivations of the Vietnamese people.
If Philip Caputo s memoir is meant to be the story of an American soldier, Trâm s diary becomes the
story of the Vietnamese people and their struggle. On May 7th 1970 Trâm recounts her feelings on the
history of war in Vietnam, and how the people still remain undeterred. Twenty five years immersed in
fire and bullets, we are still strong. Not only after all this fighting and after all that Trâm herself has
witnessed and endured she is still confident in her country. We will persevere and be courageous and
hold our heads high and take the offensive. Trâm s diary makes it clear that there was never any doubt

Shifts in the Fatherly Relationships in Those Winter...
Robert Hayden wrote about his strained relationship with his father in his childhood years. Yet, as
much as Robert Hayden seemed not to appreciate his father when he was young, his father worked
hard to ensure the comfort of his son, and to ready him for the adult life. This is understandable since
parent child relationships often go through phases. Robert Hayden used strong language to create a
tone that shifts from gratefulness to regret, painting a picture of his relationship with his father over a
lifetime. In stanza 1, Robert Hayden used detail and imagery to portray the grateful tone. Hayden s
father worked hard in any conditions to bring comfort to the household. Sundays too the poet s father
got up early Sundays are supposed to be a day of rest for the masses, a break from the labor in the
weekday . Yet, Robert s father is willing to give up his sleep and comfort for the comfort of his son.
This can be thought of like a parent in the Holocaust giving up some of their rations to their son or
daughter. Sacrificing common human comforts to give relief to family member is not an easy thing to
do, especially facing such difficult circumstances as that, yet, often; parents are willing to do it. Robert
Hayden now sees that he witnessed this in his father, and is grateful for it. Robert s father would not
just have to arise early, but also put his clothes on in the blueblack cold as well. Getting rid of the cold

Well, don t break into the money before I get back. (Jacobs, 5) In the short story The Monkey s Paw

all because they got greedy for some money. That is why people should be thankful for what they have

Learning Of Sound Waves Can Benefit From Outside...
Abstract
Under study learning of sound waves can benefit from outside assistance through the making of
gathering learning classroom materials whose advancement and outline depend on unequivocal
examinations concerning understudy understanding. We portray thinking as far as sets of assets, i.e.
assembled building squares of feeling that are normally utilized as a part of a wide range of settings.
Understudies in our college material science classes frequently utilized arrangements of assets that
were not quite the same as the ones we wish them to utilize. By planning educational modules
materials that get some information about the physical science from an alternate perspective, we

Firstly we must understand that people have different body types and shapes, we are not created
differently in order for others to categorize us into something. We must stand up to those who keeps
on pinning us down, don t let anyone stop you from doing what you want. In 2012, Jennifer
Livingston, a local news anchor in Wisconsin, received a fat shaming email from a viewer. She then
said that there are children who don t know better. Who get emails as critical as the one I received, or

Since love was a very foreign idea to them, it influenced them to become more interested in western
book, which did not include any propaganda. When the narrator reads Jean Christophe a book by
Romain Rolland, he talks about the main character fondly Without him I would never have understood
the splendor of taking free and independent action as an individual. Up until this stolen encounter with
Romain Rolland s hero, my poor educated and re educated brains had been incapable of gasping the
notion of one man standing up against the whole world (110). This is the main reason why Mao didn t
want people reading any kind of literature that was not connected to the party or scientific. Books such
as the one the narrator read inspired people which can motivate then to rise up against his dictatorship
and lead to his loss of power. When talking about the main character from the Balzac Ursule Mirouet

my mother was doing in our apartment five hundred kilometers away, to watch my parents having

never set eyes on before... (58 59). From this passage it can be seen how disillusioned the youth of
China were due to the re education process. Another key reason why Luo and the narrator were so
interested in the books was because they could relate to the stories. They were able to picture it
happening to themselves which in a way gave them an escape from their reality and the fact that they

Understandably, the opposition parties are active in exercising the parliamentary right to scrutinize
government actions.
One striking difference when comparing the Bundestag with the British Parliament is the lack of time
spent on serving constituents in Germany. This is in part due to Germany s electoral system. A
practical constraint on the expansion of constituent service is the limited personal staff of Bundestag
deputies. Despite these constraints especially those deputies that are elected directly normally try to
keep close contact with their constituents and to help them with their problems, particularly when they
are related to federal policies or agencies.
Constituent service does also take place in the form of the Petition Committee. In 2004, the Petition
Committee received over 18,000 complaints from citizens and was able to negotiate a mutually
satisfactory solution to more than half of them. In 2005, as a pilot of the potential of internet petitions,

Ethics are the governing rationales that drive a person to do something. Sharfritiz tells us ethics in
public administration has for levels: personal, professional, organizational, and social (Shafritz 182).
Gangs are not necessarily under the public administration umbrella, but do contain some of these
levels. These levels are personal ethics and organizational ethics. Personal ethics are the driving point
of what makes a person want to join a gang. For the Black Panthers it is for the defense of black
people against racist actions and violence, but for the Bloods it is to compete against the Crips. It all
depends on what the individual thinks is right or wrong. Next, we have the organizational ethics.
Organization ethics are what is expected of a gang member as he or she is affiliated with the gang. In
its relation to gangs, it suggests that gangs committed crimes in honor of their organization. For an
example, a Blood wearing red was shot by a Crip wearing blue due to the organizational ethics of the
Crips gang as a whole. It is expected that a Crip do not allow a Blood to freely roam in their territory.
Another aspect of the organizational ethics of a gang is to not snitch. When the officers brought in the
member of the Black Panther whose roommate shot a rocket propelled grenade weapon (RPG) in the
apartment building, it was challenging to get answers out of him. First, he was saying he didn t know
what happened. Then, he was saying that he did not know where the RPG game from. This is a clear
example on how you are not supposed to expose the operations of your gang, i.e lying for your gang.
The final level of ethics that a gang has are social ethics. Social ethics are what require members of a
gang to fulfill the goal of the gang and to protect the existence of the it. This were the selling narcotics
and armed robberies come into play, at least for the Crips and Bloods.

long run growth rate and WACC, we can find the terminal value: Vn=40365*(1+2%)9.15%
2%=550,766
Then, the present value of free cash flows can be calculated based on the discount rate (Appendix B).
According to Appendix E, the market value of equity is $484,185 million and the stock price is
$1,183.04, while its intrinsic value of stock is $1,440.81.
I choose the mean of TEV/EBITDA and the median of TEV/Revenue as multiples to estimate Google
s stock price (Appendix F). By applying the mean value of TEV/EBITDA to find enterprise value, we
can get a corresponding intrinsic value per share of $1,248.06. By applying the median value of
TEV/Revenue, we get the corresponding intrinsic value per share of $1,231.04 (Appendix F). Both of
the value calculated by using multiples are a little bit lower than the one from Part 1. Many completed
variable involved in two different ways of obtaining the stock price, which will in turn cause
differences in result for sure.
I believe the way which using DCF method to get the total enterprise value and then to find the
corresponding stock price give the best estimate of Google s stock price. By reaching that, I first use
the average EBITDA/Sales ratio from the past three years as a constant ratio to project the future five

First All-American Musical Essay
ArtsCentric Produces their First All African American Musical Photo Credit: Instadoor
With all the news about violence in the city of Chicago, it s a refreshing change for locals to watch
musicals, especially if the story will take you to back to the city of Chicago in the 1920 s. During this
time, there was a huge influx of killings sprees among the residents which is really not as inspiring as
it should be. However, as a musical show, the storyline was presented through a fresh and entertaining
approach.
The show, Chicago, is a 1975 jazz inspired musical by John Kander, Bob Fosse, and Fred Ebb. Even
though the story depicts a cynical approach about the media and celebrity criminal, you ll find
yourself laughing and getting entertained throughout the show.
However, this time, ArtsCentric will offer audiences a new approach by producing their first ... Show

In one particular number, Faulk lets loose and is joined by Pamela Ward, the conniving prison matron.
In another scene, sympathetic reporter, Mary Sunshine, played by BJ Daniels, wore a drag as she sang
the bittersweet song Mr. Cellophane with Roxie s husband, Sylvern Jr. As for the rest of the musical
cast, although they were not as strong in terms of their acting abilities, the show s director, Kevin
McAllister and choreographer, Shalyce Hemby, brought everyone s energy up.
Although the theater appears to be a bit crowded, the stage is setup with subtlety amid a band led by
Cedric. Lyles. The production s costumes were planned by McAllister himself which appears like a
late night party at a Victoria Secret show. This show is indeed fun and entertaining.
Having an all black cast makes the production unique and more interesting to watch. Chicago will run
until August 6, 2015, at the Motor House.

Country Rock History
COUNTRY AND JAZZ IN ROCK
At the end of the 1960s, when Rock and Roll were at its prime, two musical genres that were
originally considered its influences re imagined themselves through Rock and Roll s prism Country
and Jazz musicians started to mix their music with Rock s relentless energy. The newfound genres,
called Country Rock and Jazz Rock respectively were accepted by the audience and critics alike,
having a major impact that is still traceable in today s music.
Musical genres can be often analyzed from two standpoints: the way the genre approaches musical
harmony and the genre s stylistics. There is Country with its rudimentary melodic approach, which in
a majority of times is merely a backdrop for stories that cover themes such as love, freedom, religion,
and, unsurprisingly, the aspects of life in the countryside. A major part of Country s aesthetics is
reached with the use of very few recognizable instruments, such as fiddles and banjos. On the other
hand, we have Jazz, whose most renowned contributors were quite often creating instrumental pieces
exclusively, praising structural and melodic complexity as their ultimate goals. Throughout its history,
Jazz was moving in all directions, experimenting with all sorts of instruments and musical
movements.

While being misunderstood by the critics of that time, Black Sabbath was a groundbreaking moment,
dividing Rock music on before and after and being the first herald of the genre known as Heavy Metal
. During the following decade, Heavy Metal artists such as aforementioned Black Sabbath, Kiss, Iron
Maiden, Judas Priest and many others created their unique visual imagery: the dominance of dark
colors in cover arts, clothing and design of instruments, down the back long hair and the iconic sign of
the horns instantly became associated with the genre, finding both followers and

Theme Of The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
An Elegant Flop by Boyne John Boyne was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1971 and studied Literature at
Trinity College, Dublin, and creative writing at the university of East Anglia, Norwich. He has
published nine novels for adults and four for a younger audience, all of which are actually published
in 47 different languages, including The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas
follows the story of a nine year old boy named Bruno who reluctantly moves out his comfortable
home in Berlin to Out With because of his Father s job. After being rather bored in his new dismal
house, and given no answers by neither his parents nor servants, he is forced to stay with his older
sister who is a constant pain in the neck along with a rather brooding Lieutenant. From his window
Bruno has seen countless men and boys huddled by the barbed wire fence, scared of something he just
doesn t understand, and they were all wearing the same blue striped pyjamas. After doing a little
forbidden exploration, he meets a boy his age but not quite his size. Yet Shmuel is not here to play
with Bruno. John Boyne has demonstrated the theme of the innocence of childhood in such a way that
is rather interesting, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many argue time and time again that such an issue such as the Holocaust shouldn t be tackled through
the eyes of a frustratingly naïve boy as it trivialises the subject. As mentioned, the ominous storm that
is built up does not end satisfyingly well enough, and is summed up in just two short chapters. Bruno
never really finds humanity, thus the true horrors of the Holocaust isn t delivered. TBITSP is also quite
historically incorrect. These death camps were surrounded by guards and it s also surprising that a
weak boy would survive at Auschwitz for a whole year. The areas outside the fences where no man

Not Always A Bad Thing Essay
Strangely enough when Jean died he didn t feel any pain. He didn t feel scared, or try to fight it. He
felt calm, ready. He felt it was just his time to go. His friends were screaming, and frantically trying to
save him.
A Titan had grabbed him after his Three Dimensional Movement Gear had malfunctioned and the belt
snapped. He had managed to grab a replacement set and fight off several Titans, but he was just
outmatched.
Jean remembered the Titan picking him up in one massive hand and crushing him. It broke his back
and punctured both lungs before cutting him in half with disgusting and jagged teeth.
After that, nothing.

Th Thomas? He asked in disbelief.
The young man staring at Jean was Thomas Annigan, one of the people who had been training with
hopes of someday joining the Survey Corps. He was killed when the Titans breached wall Rose. Jean
reached out a shaky hand and placed it on Thomas shoulder. He was shocked to find that it was sturdy,
and felt real.
But... You re... Dead.
Thomas frowned and pulled Jean for a hug. Jean froze at the sudden awkward contact. When Thomas
was done hugging him, Jean gestured around the room.
Where are we? What is this place?
Thomas smiled.
It s my house. I ve always wanted one just like this. Surrounded by trees, and there s even a river
nearby.
Jean slowly sat on a nearby chair.
But Thomas... You re dead...
Thomas sat in a chair adjacent to Jean and smiled reassuringly.
What s the last thing you remember?
Jean frowned and looked down.
I remember... Titans... They had broken wall Rose again... And I...
Jean clapped a hand over his mouth to stifle a sudden scream.
Oh God... No..!
Thomas patted his shoulder reassuringly.
It s okay Jean. You re in a better place now.
Jean began to quake in anger and sadness.
Better place..? We re dead... How can you be okay with that?
At first I was scared... And so alone. But then some of the others found me and explained what
happened and I felt better. We re all together now, and we re happy.
Jean looked up.
Others? There s more people here?
Thomas nodded.

The Darkling Thrush by Thomas Hardy Essay
The Darkling Thrush by Thomas Hardy
The poem entitled The Darkling Thrush, written by Thomas Hardy, has a very appealing connotation.
The work can be separated into two parts; the dismal part pertaining to the beginning of winter and the
second part focusing on one small aspect of good in all of the dismal surrounding it. The general idea
of the poem is that the dismal winter is approaching, but there are some incidences of goodness in this
depressing time.
The first part can be sectioned into the first and second stanzas. The poem opens with I leant upon a
coppice gate. This is the moment when the author enters the small wood and begins to narrate his
thoughts and feelings. The next ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third stanza is where everything seems to turn around. As the narrator seems to be sitting in this
small wood, they seem to see a thrush, which is a small bird. Lines eighteen through twenty seem to
explain this very simply. They state, At once a voice arouse…in a full hearted evening song. This tells
the reader that under all of this gloom, there is one living aspect and that is this bird.
The fourth and final stanza tells the reader the narrator s new feelings on the winter months. This is
best summed up in the last two lines of the poem. They state, Some blessed Hope, whereof he knew
and I was unaware. This states that the narrator feels that winter will soon be ending and the tiny little
thrush showed the narrator this. The narrator now knows that there is a hope of the summer months
coming.
The theme of the poem is to find good meaning in everything and that good is always present in
everything. God does things for a reason and the good may not always be immediately visible, but it is
there and it is our job to search it out. In the case of the poem, the narrator now knows that the warmer
seasons will return to again bring joy and life to everyone.
The Darkling Thrush by Thomas Hardy is a poem written in December of the year 1900. This
coincides with the themes of the poem itself, being a sadness

  • 3. The Multiplier Online Games ( Mog ) 1. Introduction: Multiplier Online Games (MOG) are one kind of real time applications. These are developed using either centralized architecture (Client Server Architecture) also known as traditional architecture or using distributed architecture (Peer to Peer Architecture). Some games are developed using a combination of these two architectures known as Mirrored Server Architecture (Hsu, Ling, Li, Kuo, 2003). In general, games are two types. One is role based playing games where players role is fixed. Other is real time strategy based games where player s actions dynamic. The Quake, Galaxy Star Wars, EVE, Warcraft are some examples of multiplayer online games (Merabti Rhalibi, 2004). For entertainment purpose and for a virtual experience, people are showing greater interest in MOG. In recent years, organizations started to using distributed architecture or Peer to Peer (P P) architecture for developing MOG due to its robustness, scalability, and flexibility. The well known traditional client server architecture has limited scalability and robustness and it requires the high cost to maintain servers when online players are massive (Merabti Rhalibi, 2004). The MOG requires two kinds of platforms. One is physical platform contain hardware and network. Another is logical platform focuses on system architecture such as software development for players and hosts according to hardware management. • 4. History Of The Steam Engine During the early 1770s James Watt, a British inventor, made changes to the existing steam engine by creating an engine that was not water powered. Watt hoped that the steam engine would be four times as powerful as earlier models, allowing factories to work more efficiently. Using the steam engine, Robert Fulton and George Stephenson made different modes of transportation for people and cargo. Fulton created the first steam powered boat that took people and cargo along the Hudson river. Similarly, Stephenson constructed a locomotive that carried large hauls over large distances. An eyewitness from the event, 10 years ago, said, The steam engine that Watt has come up with is not only extremely efficient, but has also created an influx of jobs in the manufacturing industry . These critics also believe that the flow of people creates a greater demand for products which is sustained by both the labor supply as well as the steam engine that decreased the time and cost that factories had to spend on making these products. Urban cities created centers that offered a leisure time for those who were living in the city hoping to ease the stress of the worker class. Skeptics point to the fact that although leisure time was implemented, there were also problems with the new steam engine as well as population growth. Builders were sometimes unable to build houses fast enough to accommodate the incoming peoples and factories run by steam engines caused pollution. Critics further state that this made living conditions horrifying and made for more dangerous workplaces. After reading the article it is safe to say that Mr. Watanabe had some serious issues. Not only did he have a serious gambling problem, he also had a drinking and drug problem. These two together is not a good combination. This was not your normal gambling issue, this was the biggest loss in Vegas history of 127 million dollars! Seeing this from an outsider s perspective, there are two different ways you can look at the situation. You can either feel sorry for him and feel that he was treated wrongly and unlawfully, or one can feel no remorse for him and that he brought it all upon himself. After much thought, I have a firm stance that what was going on in those casinos was one, illegal and two, outright just wrong. Mr. Watanabe was absolutely taken advantage of. As a young boy Mr. Watanabe had a wealthy family was a very successful business man and was a chief executor of his father s business by the age of 20. After years of owning this business he sold it for millions and decided he wanted to have fun for a while and be stress free. Gambling is fun, right? He began gambling at a Harrah s casino in Iowa back in 2003. He was one of the casinos biggest gamblers at the casino and everyone knew him very well there. He had also traveled to Vegas to gamble and that s where his serious gambling, drug and alcohol abuse began. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Causes Of Unemployment In The Great Depression Throughout history both political parties have struggled with many obstacles in governmental policy. One policy issue that has been apart of both political platforms for years is unemployment. The unemployment of the American citizen has been high since the beginning of the Great Depression. Because of high unemployment rates, the American economy has been spiraling into debt now reaching seven trillion dollars. This has led both political parties to take aim at one another, blaming the opposition for the social and economical distress. The problem of wide spread unemployment is prominent in political platforms throughout the years. After the stock markets crashed in 1929, the United States was faced with an economical battle it had never seen before. Unemployment was at an all time high because banks were closing and the American dollar was seemingly meaningless. This brought on mass hysteria and caused chaos throughout the American population. The American public started looking to the leaders of this country for answers. They couldn t find jobs, and what jobs they did find were paying them almost nothing. The public wanted this problem fixed. During the 1932 election, both the democratic and republican parties addressed the high unemployment brought on by the depression. The Democratic nominee, Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR), was convinced that this problem was the fault of the former president and Republican nominee, for the 1932 election, Herbert Hoover. • 7. Government Apologies In Canada In A Sorry State by Mitch Miagawa, Brian Mulroney is quoted as saying, Apologies are the only way to cleanse the past. There is controversy surrounding whether this quotation can be taken as truth or fiction. Government apologies have become a very common staple in Canadian society, and in my opinion, have been drained of their meaning. Mulroney s statement is simply not reflective of the values and beliefs of majority of Canadians. Words cannot and will not accurately heal and reconcile all affected parties. Brian Mulroney implies that apologies are the only way to move forward. The apology lifts the weight of burden off of the redressing parties shoulders, allowing them to suddenly state, Not my problem. The attempt to make amends can are just words nothing more. Actions speak louder than words and healing is not an easy process, as First Nations journalist James Sinclair describes in his article, To Own Ourselves, Money, resources, and time may help, but none of these will ultimately do the job. Referring to the healing process, he continues by voicing that No apology, no words, and certainly no time in parliament will give healing. Likewise, apologies cannot re write the past, let alone cleanse the past. It is crucial to not part with history, and to positively re build trust and relationships, therefor making both ends meet. Reconciliation must take place by educating other generations. In other words, the government must not just say sorry, they must be sorry. When discriminatory and prejudiced behaviours take place, it is obvious that apologies are more of a formality than a genuine expression of regret. • 9. European Influence in Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, presents the result of colonization of the Ibo people by the European missionaries. The Ibo culture is threatened to change by the European influence. Villagers are divided between resisting a new lifestyle or embracing it for better opportunities in society. The struggle to keep Ibo traditions alive is reflected in Okonkwo and Obierika s relationship to one another. Okonkwo represents the resistance of change by keeping traditional values in high regard while, Obierika signifies the openness to opportunity by questioning the current Ibo values. The arrival of European missionaries persuades the exchange of traditional Ibo methods, customs, and community for Christianity, resulting in the community to fall apart. Before the arrival of European influence, villagers of Umuofia had a single option for a way of life. It was a place to be feared, dominated by war and violent practices. Ibo culture is centered on a patriarchal system based on hierarchy; the highest titles held by male egwugwu in the legal system and the osu at the bottom. Other wood uses include fiber and particle board, packing cases, boxes, matches, chop sticks and light furniture. Wood is difficult to saw and not strong or durable. Its thin crown provides partial shade to coffee, tea, and cacao. It also is used as a windbreak for bananas. Trials in Hawaii have indicated its usefulness as an intercrop with eucalyptus, especially in wetter areas. After four years, eucalyptus grown with falcataria in a 50:50 mixture at a spacing of 2 x 2 m were 58% taller and 55% larger in DBH than in pure eucalyptus stands (Schubert 1985). In other trials with 34 and 50% falcataria, total biomass was equal to or better than that of pure stands (Schubert et al 1988). Falcataria also shows potential in alley farming. In a trial on acid soils (pH 4.2) in Indonesia, trees were managed in hedges 4 m apart and produced 2 3 dry tons of green leaf manure/ha/yr. Application of falcataria green leaf manure doubled upland rice yields and more than quadrupled cowpea yields as compared to control plots (Evensen et al 1987). In 1988, however, concerns surfaced about the longevity of falcataria in alley cropping systems (Evensen, pers. comm.). Due to maltreatment, children are running away from home, being trafficked into the sex business, and sometimes, lose their life due to a lack of parental supervision and/or loved ones who care about their well being. Through volunteering at a missing children s program with Sam s Club, I ve learned first hand just how detrimental maltreatment in our society can be and how we must do everything in our power to prevent children from being exposed to maltreatment, provide them with safe and loving environments, and finally, do all we can to rescue and children that are taken or trafficked and place them in safe environments. In this paper, there will be an exploration of maltreatment of children, including statistics of children who go missing and types of maltreatment, specifically sex trafficking, measures used to find missing children, and finally, what happens to children who go missing, their professions, lifestyles, and quality of life. Child maltreatment is essentially a synonym for child abuse, which is the abuse or neglect or any act or series of acts, regardless of commission or omission by a caregiver, which can result in the harm or threat of a child s life. Child maltreatment is one of the leading reasons why children go missing. • 19. Media Self Esteem At times, it can be hurtful when we do not get that attention that our friends get on social media as this makes us feel as if we are nothing in this world. Michelle Linker can be equated with approval or self esteem as she was a daily user of Instagram. She told her guardian that she feels anxiety over the likes she got after she posted her pictures on his Instagram page. She said that she got only two likes and she would ask herself what was really wrong with her. This greatly influenced her and lowered her self esteem because she felt low and considered herself as a child of a lesser God compared to her followers. In reality, when we all post something such as pictures of our own and don t get a lot of likes, we always feel rejected which ultimately causes our self esteem to take a hit. This will always affect our mind as a lot of question will ring each moment why we can be rejected. When we get likes on our pages of Instagram or Facebook, the reward system in the brain is activated, and thus releases dopamine, which causes individuals to associate likes with the same pleasure we may get or feel from taking narcotics or any other drug that when you take, you feel well (Lin et al. 326). The point of dropping the bombs on Japan, was to force them to surrender. Nagasaki and Hiroshima were two of the cities that had the biggest concentration of Japanese soldiers. Process Of Child Sexual Abuse Childhood is a period in a person s life that is a time to learn through play and is often regarded as carefree of any worries due to the innocent nature of children. . However, some children are not as lucky to have joyful memories of childhood. Many children are negatively impacted early in life by being sexually abused which scars their path to adulthood, thus creating victimization and trauma (Burgess et al. 2013). Any sexual touching of children, also non touching such as showing, hearing, or feeling anything sexual, is an offense defined as child sexual abuse ( Child Sexual Abuse , 2017). The police at some point need to make sure the child gets medical attention to determine the extent of the abuse (The Investigation Process of Child Sexual Abuse, 2017).The police then start to interview the child to get information of what happened from the child s perspective. Child sexual abuse cases can be complex because they take time to put all the pieces of information together, which can easily cause an error during the investigation. The interviewing process for children is difficult because the same techniques that are used on adults are used for children as well. The interview then becomes unpleasant and uncomfortable for the child confusing the child and putting the case information at jeopardy because the child will not say much. Investigators also interview anyone who has or had contact with the child victim before the incident such as the parents and anyone else. Interviewing the child s father and mother can support or deny any allegations that have been made by the child. The interview with the victim s father and mother can help with gathering crucial information about the case. After speaking with the mother, father, and child, the alleged offender (if not mother or father) is the next to speak with police. Investigators must take into consideration that an offender will try to make it seem like the child is telling a lie and the allegations made are not true. On some occasions an offender might admit to the allegations of the child. Individual decision makers responsible for only one fragment of a relevant set of health care decisions may fail to understand the full picture, may lack the power to take all the appropriate actions given what they know, or may even have affirmative incentives to shift costs onto others. All these forms of fragmentation can lead to bad health care decisions. Fragmentation can occur along many dimensions. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Given that we are talking about medicine, it makes sense to begin by asking: are there sound medical or scientific reasons for the current fragmentation of U.S. health care. The fact that other nations have far more integrated health care systems and hospitals dominated by salaried doctors, and achieve similar or better health results at lower cost, belies any claim that medicine or science inherently requires U.S. levels of disintegration. This same fact seems inconsistent with the claim that the sociology of the medical profession inherently requires such fragmentation. Further, Institute of Medicine studies of the U.S. system have condemned fragmentation because it leads to more medical errors, meaning that, if anything, sound medicine and science cuts in the opposite direction and is being overwhelmed by other causes. This much may seem obvious, but it has an important implication. If medical or scientific reasons are not driving current health care fragmentation, it is unlikely that fragmentation is going to be cured by studies that show how it leads to medical errors, by analyses demonstrating medically optimal team methods, or by new information technologies that help hospitals and physicians coordinate better. Those may help at the margins, but to really tackle fragmentation we are going to have to address the underlying structural cause that has been driving U.S. health care to levels of disintegration that are medically ... Yet, as much as Robert Hayden seemed not to appreciate his father when he was young, his father worked hard to ensure the comfort of his son, and to ready him for the adult life. This is understandable since parent child relationships often go through phases. Gangs are not necessarily under the public administration umbrella, but do contain some of these levels. These levels are personal ethics and organizational ethics. Personal ethics are the driving point of what makes a person want to join a gang. For the Black Panthers it is for the defense of black people against racist actions and violence, but for the Bloods it is to compete against the Crips. It all depends on what the individual thinks is right or wrong. Next, we have the organizational ethics. Organization ethics are what is expected of a gang member as he or she is affiliated with the gang. In its relation to gangs, it suggests that gangs committed crimes in honor of their organization. For an example, a Blood wearing red was shot by a Crip wearing blue due to the organizational ethics of the Crips gang as a whole. It is expected that a Crip do not allow a Blood to freely roam in their territory. Another aspect of the organizational ethics of a gang is to not snitch. First, he was saying he didn t know what happened. Then, he was saying that he did not know where the RPG game from. After being rather bored in his new dismal house, and given no answers by neither his parents nor servants, he is forced to stay with his older sister who is a constant pain in the neck along with a rather brooding Lieutenant. From his window Bruno has seen countless men and boys huddled by the barbed wire fence, scared of something he just doesn t understand, and they were all wearing the same blue striped pyjamas. After doing a little forbidden exploration, he meets a boy his age but not quite his size. Yet Shmuel is not here to play with Bruno. John Boyne has demonstrated the theme of the innocence of childhood in such a way that is rather interesting, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many argue time and time again that such an issue such as the Holocaust shouldn t be tackled through the eyes of a frustratingly naïve boy as it trivialises the subject. As mentioned, the ominous storm that is built up does not end satisfyingly well enough, and is summed up in just two short chapters. Bruno never really finds humanity, thus the true horrors of the Holocaust isn t delivered. TBITSP is also quite historically incorrect. These death camps were surrounded by guards and it s also surprising that a weak boy would survive at Auschwitz for a whole year. The areas outside the fences where no man lands. The young man staring at Jean was Thomas Annigan, one of the people who had been training with hopes of someday joining the Survey Corps. He was killed when the Titans breached wall Rose. Jean reached out a shaky hand and placed it on Thomas shoulder. He was shocked to find that it was sturdy, and felt real. But... You re... Dead. Thomas frowned and pulled Jean for a hug. Jean froze at the sudden awkward contact. When Thomas was done hugging him, Jean gestured around the room. Where are we? What is this place? Thomas smiled. It s my house. I ve always wanted one just like this. Surrounded by trees, and there s even a river nearby. Jean slowly sat on a nearby chair.

The work can be separated into two parts; the dismal part pertaining to the beginning of winter and the second part focusing on one small aspect of good in all of the dismal surrounding it. The general idea of the poem is that the dismal winter is approaching, but there are some incidences of goodness in this depressing time. The third stanza is where everything seems to turn around. As the narrator seems to be sitting in this small wood, they seem to see a thrush, which is a small bird. Lines eighteen through twenty seem to explain this very simply. They state, At once a voice arouse…in a full hearted evening song. This tells the reader that under all of this gloom, there is one living aspect and that is this bird. The fourth and final stanza tells the reader the narrator s new feelings on the winter months. This is best summed up in the last two lines of the poem. They state, Some blessed Hope, whereof he knew and I was unaware. This states that the narrator feels that winter will soon be ending and the tiny little thrush showed the narrator this. The narrator now knows that there is a hope of the summer months coming. The theme of the poem is to find good meaning in everything and that good is always present in everything. God does things for a reason and the good may not always be immediately visible, but it is there and it is our job to search it out. In the case of the poem, the narrator now knows that the warmer seasons will return to again bring joy and life to everyone.
