are the national standards bodies of 111 countries.
 All standards developed by iso are voluntary.
 ISO14000 is a series of international standards on
environmental management.
 ISO14000 is the first international azttempt to standardize
environment management practices around the world.
 ISO14000 will help integrate the environmental management
systems of companies that trade with each other in all corners of
the world.
SCOPE & STATUS OF ISO 14000
 The first type refers to Organization Standards that
can be used to implement & evaluate the
environmental management system within an
organization . Included are: the ISO14000 series of
EMS standards; the ISO14030 series of standards for
environmental performance evaluation.

 ISO does not perform certification.
 ISO develops International Standards such as ISO
9000 and ISO 14000, but they are not involved in
certification process.
 Certification is performed by external certification
bodies which are independent of ISO management.

DISPLAYING YOUR ISO CERTIFICATE
 When labelling a product or system as certified to
an ISO Standard ;
 DON’T say: “ISO Certified” or “ISO Certification”
 DO say: “ISO 9001:2008 certification” or “ISO
9001:2008 certified”.
CAN I USE ISO LOGO
 The ISO logo is a registered trademark and cannot
be used by anyone outside ISO, unless authorized.
 If anyone wishes to use the logo they have to
contact certification body that issued the certificate.
ISO SURVEY
 Every year ISO perform survey of certification to the
management system standards.
 The Survey shows the number of certificates to ISO
Management System given in each country, each
year.
ISO SURVEY 2013
 The 2013 edition shows the comprehensive growth
for all seven ISO management system standards
covered by the survey with a 4% increase in
number of certificates.
 The fluctuation in number of certificates from year
to year is largely due to the variability in response
from individual certification bodies.
