This document summarizes a study analyzing the physio-chemical and bacteriological properties of water from the Indrayani River in India. Over an 11km stretch near Pune, water samples were taken from 4 locations during rainy, winter, and summer seasons. 21 parameters were measured, including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, and various ions. Results showed temperature ranged from 18-25.6 degrees Celsius. pH and dissolved oxygen levels fluctuated, with some locations occasionally exceeding limits. Nutrient levels like phosphates and nitrates also varied between sites and seasons. Overall, the study assessed water quality along the Indrayani River and found pollution levels changed depending on location and time of year.
The quality of any body of surface or ground water
is a function of either both natural influences and human
influences. Without human influences water quality would be
determined by the weathering of bedrock minerals, by the
atmospheric processes of evaporation, transpiration and the
deposition of dust and salt by wind, by the natural leaching of
organic matter and nutrients from soil, by hydrological factors
that lead to runoff, and by biological processes within the aquatic
environment that can alter the physical and chemical
composition of water. Declining water quality has become a
global issue of concern as human populations griesrow, industrial
and agricultural activities expand, and climate change threatens
to cause major alterations to the hydrological cycle.

ABSTRACT- A study was carried out to assess the pollution load in river Yamuna at Mathura (U.P.) and its impact on
population size of some aquatic microbes. The key indicators of sewage waste load were Coliform count (MPN), BOD,
sulphates, chloride and ammonia. The susceptible microbes that were analysed included Ulothrix, Paramecium spp.
Difflugia sp. and species of Cyclops. The study revealed that the river is very badly polluted especially with sewage,
garbage and effluents from city and local industries. The population of Coliform bacteria and Ulothrix (algal organisms)
was found very high in those areas, where organic pollutants were very high in amount. But other organisms like,
Paramecium spp. Difflugia spp. and Cyclops exhibited a severe decline in population count, indicating heavy pollution
load, especially during summer months.

study area, during February - March 2015. The high concentration of
alkalinity (209 mg/L) and hardness (220 mg/l) shows the severe condition of river water due to discharge of Industrial effluent.
Heavy metal or toxic metal concentration was found negligible while in sample no 1 the concentrations of Pb (0.811 mg/l), Cr
(0.642 mg/l), Fe (0.498 mg/l), Zn (0.326 mg/l) and Mn (0.3 mg/l). In other locations some metal concentrations were found below
the detectable limit although iron appeared in a small quantity. Hence it is concluded that there is an adverse condition of river
water environment due to industrial activities and industrial effluent discharge without treatment be supposed to be stopped to
protect the valuable river water from contamination.

Assessment of Physico Chemical Properties of Ground Water in Aligarh Cityijtsrd
Rapid urbanization and industrial boom is the new reality of modern world. The increasing population is eventually turning agricultural land or forest into concrete jungle. Hence the water bodies are one among others to be encroached by this process. As the water bodies are disappearing overtime and population is increasing, there is a huge stress on ground water. Apart from the demands of ground water, various anthropogenic activities are making water unsuitable for drinking. The present study focused on the physic chemical concentration of ground water in Aligarh city because the city is mainly dependent on its ground water for its domestic and industrial usage. INFLUENCE OF LEACHATE MIGRATION ON GROUND WATER QUALITY Dr. Naveen BP
In this paper, the concept of leachate pollution index, a tool for quantifying the leachate pollution potential and water quality index for surrounding water bodies of Mavallipura landfill site in Bangalore has been applied. It has been found that the leachate generated from the Mavallipura landfill site has high contamination potential to the surrounding water bodies. The results revealed that quality of ground water resources in Mavallipura landfill is deteriorating largely, as a result of the poor practice of solid waste management. Hence, an effective remedial plan needs to be prepared for the sustainable water quality maintenance of the area.

Water Pollution Control for Mandalay KanDawGyi Lake by Natural Treatment Systemijtsrd
This paper emphasized on "Water Pollution Control for Mandalay KanDawGyi Lake by Natural Treatment System". KanDawGyi Lake is used for wastewater collection. It is situated in ChanMyaThaZi Township, Mandalay and near the AyeYarWaddy river. Residential, commercial and industrial area are existed surrounding the KanDawGyi Lake. Water from human activities such as cooking, bathing, washing and septic tanks effluent is discharged into drains by gravity flow without treatment. Average six million gallons of wastewater discharged from Mandalay City area flow into KanDawGyi Lake passing through ThinGaZar creek daily. So, lake water has been contaminated by domestic wastewater. This has resulted detrimental effects on the ecosystem. Water in recreation center should be aesthetically pleasing and essentially free of toxicants and pathogenic organisms. Seven collection points such as entrance, east of north side, south east of north side, south of north side, water fountains, PyiGyiMon barge and exit of KanDawGyi Lake are chosen to collect the wastewater sample. The water quality of KanDawGyi Lake is evaluated by various parameters such as temperature, turbidity, suspended solids, dissolved solids, pH, total alkalinity, total hardness, biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, chlorides, total solids and bacteria. According to test results, alkalinity, chlorides, dissolved solids, suspended solids, and total solids are uncertified. Therefore, in this paper wetland design of natural treatment system is used at the entrance of the lake to control the water pollution. Water is an important natural resource, which forms the cause of all life. Water is
one of the most requisite materials in our day to day life. It is a key resource in all
economic activities ranging from agriculture to industries. Only a minimal fraction of
the planet’s plentiful water is available to the living beings as fresh water. About 97%
is found in the oceans and is very salty for drinking, irrigation, or industry. The
remaining 3% is fresh water. About 2.997% of it is arrested in ice caps or glaciers or
is concealed so deep that it costs too much time & money to extract. Only about
0.0035 of Earth’s total volume of water is easily available to us as soil moisture,
exploitable ground water, water vapor, rivers, lakes and streams. In this present study
by a systematic sampling has been carried out to find the water quality parameters of
the Lake, by collecting samples from Six different positions, which covering entire
area of the lake, and the stations were distributed covering the periphery of the entire
tank, and also considering the inflow and the discharges and to suggest required

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
