This document describes a proportional resonant controller with resonant harmonic compensators for a three-phase seven-level diode-clamped multilevel inverter. The controller aims to produce sinusoidal output voltage with low total harmonic distortion even with nonlinear loads, and provide good transient response to load changes. The system is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. A proportional resonant controller with additional resonant controllers at the 3rd, 5th, and 7th harmonics is designed. Diode-clamped multilevel inverters generate voltage levels through a split DC bus capacitor arrangement.
