The document summarizes a study assessing the physical-chemical characteristics of drinking water in Wagholi, India. Water samples were collected from 10 locations around Wagholi and tested for various parameters including pH, hardness, TDS, and microbiological contaminants. The results found that most physical parameters like temperature, odor and color were within acceptable limits, but hardness exceeded limits in some samples. Microbiological testing found E. coli in one sample, indicating potential contamination. The study concludes the water is generally safe but treatment is needed for hardness in some areas.

Water is essential to sustain the life. Water samples have collected from a different urban area of H. D. Kote
town of Mysore district from different sources such as hand pump, public taps, and stored household drinking
water. Physico-chemical and microbiological characteristics of the water samples were analysed following the
standard methods to evaluate the quality of drinking water. All physic-chemical parameters are within the
permissible limit to WHO. The microbiological analysis shows that that t nearly 53 % of the samples were
observed with coliform contamination. The significant difference among water sources regarding total plate
count was observed, where stored household water has relatively higher compared to tap and borewell water
exceeding the standard limit. Both hand pump and the tap water were not detected with any E. coli
contamination whereas 80% of the household stored water samples have shown E. coli contamination. The
presence of significant counts of coliforms in stored household water indicates post poor sanitation and
existence of human activities. Attention should be given to the collection, storage, and management by
additional treatment to maintain and prevent excessive microbial growth

EVALUATION OF INDUSTRIAL EFFLUENTS AND SOIL PROPERTIES NEAR PHARMACEUTICAL CO...IAEME Publication
There has been an increase in number of pharmaceutical companies in the present
time. A large number of them are located in Himachal Pradesh. The effluents from
these industries contaminate the nearby soil and water bodies. Here we analyses the
treated waste water and soil from nearby areas for their physical, chemical and
biological parameters. The samples were analyzed using standard methods according
to WHO & APHA-AWWA-WPCF norms. The results showed a high amount of
contamination. The pHs of the water samples showed contrasting features one being
slightly alkaline while other highly acidic. The microbial activity was quiet low in the
treated waste water while optimum amounts of bacterial and fungal activity was
found in the soil samples near the industries. The presence of high amount of sodium
and salinity was also observed. This could damage the crop productivity and soil
fertility. There is an urgent need to propose strict restrictions on discharge of harmful
effluents in the environment.

Water is essential for ecosystem and has been termed as “Elixir of life”. Ever since the civilization, man has used water for his economic gains and substances. For over thousands of years, human settlements and civilizations have originated, concentrated and thrived around different types of water bodies. It is known that water bodies have played a crucial role in growth and development of human society. Water security is emerging as an important and vital issue for India. Many Indian cities are experiencing moderate to severe water shortages due to implicit effects of agricultural growth, Industrialization and urbanization, these shortages would be further aggravated by population stress and irrigation requirements that are major factors related to water insecurity. Due to constant growth of population, technological ad industrial progress the nature of aquatic environment undergoes numerous changes and deteriorating its quality. In urban area, water pollution problems always influence the biological imbalance are both qualitatively and quantitatively. Most of the water resources are polluted with untreated partially treated wastes from industry, domestic sewage and fertilizer pesticide run off from agriculture fields etc. Prof. Sagar R. Evaluation of Potential Physico-Chemical Ground Water Pollution: a Case Study...EditorIJAERD
Ground water is a large source of water for utilisation in the world. This resource is not easily accessible to
monitor its changes and its deterioration is not easy to reverse. In the current study, physico-chemical parameters of
groundwater for Kiwanja Market (KM) were analysed and compared to the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBs) water
quality. The pH, DO, temperature, turbidity, chlorine, iron, water hardness, potassium and calcium were analysed. All the
parameters studied were within the stipulated levels except iron, and chloride for samples from point C (Ebenezer Hostel).
Turbidity for samples from points A and C were above the permissible levels of KEBs standards. The water sampled from
point A and C may require further treatment to allow for domestic use. This analysis revealed to some extent a healthier
system, though further analysis is needed to support this assertion. Continuous monitoring of the groundwater sources
within KM should be taken on regular basis to detect any changes and to sustainably maintain the quality of water within
the required KEBs water quality standards.
Physico Chemical Properties of Light Greywater for Residential Society in Bad...ijtsrd
Water plays a vital role and one of the basic necessities of human being. As per the report from the United Nations has estimated that in the year 2025, about 2.6 billion people will be facing water scarcity problems which mean more than half of the population will be affected by water scarcity and even it will not be exerted to say that third world war may occur due to water. 1 Water dearth has turn out to be one of the most critical problems of the current era. Some experts have also suggested that water shortage will turn out to be more severe than oil dearth in the future. The need for increased water requirement for the growing population in the new century is generally assumed, without considering whether available water resources could meet these needs in a sustainable manner. The question about from where the extra water is to come, has led to this study. It is necessary to learn physico chemical properties of contamination of water to understand its reuse in a residential building. It is possible to intercept this grey water, at the household level, treat it so that it can be recycled for using other purposes. In this report we are going to study the domestic light grey water i.e. washing clothes, wash basin, bathroom from day to day life of case study of residential building Mohan Willows in Bhosale Nagar, Shirgaon, Balapur. The samples were analysed for the physical and chemical characteristics of the water. The parameters examined were pH, Turbidity, TDS, COD, BOD, Oil and Grease, Conductivity, Total Hardness, Calcium, Magnesium, Alkanity, Sulphate, Iron, Lead, Zinc, DO and Nitrate. The research showed that the quality of light greywater with respect to COD, BOD, turbidity and total hardness requires adequate treatment prior to household reuse. With regard to the trace and heavy metal contents, no further treatment is required. Suresh D.
