Pre-requisites: The learner may have the basic knowledge of nouns 
and verbs.

Informal interaction 
Teacher creates an informal interaction 
between the teacher and the students. 
Good morning. 
Have you had your breakfast? 
Are you happy now? 
Today we are going to play a game. Are 
you ready for that? 
- First the teacher divides the students 
in to three groups and then teacher 
provides some blocks to the 
students. Some letters are stick on 
the block. 
Then teacher asks them to form some 
words using the given letters 
- Teacher asks them to read the words 
they made using the block then 
teacher writes the words on the 
blackboard. 
- Then the teacher asks the members 
of each group to give actions to the 
words they made. The pupils give 
actions to the words like play, 
eat,jump. But they can’t give actions 
to the words like Nellimoodu, 
Coconut, Soil. Then teacher provides 
some chart to the children. 
In this chart teacher writes what is a 
noun and what is a verb and also gave 
more examples of both noun and verb. 
Pupils response 
Play, Pen, Students, Sing, Eat, Pncil, 
Watch, Box, Swimming, Book
After that teacher presents some verbs 
and nouns in the chart. 
Verb: Words that denote action. 
Noun: Noun is the naming word.
