Aims, objectives and outcomes
 Aims
Gain increased insight into the complex nature of English language vocabulary.
 Objective:
The purpose of todays lesson is to reflect on the rules accompanying words used
in English language and to test knowledge in relation to verbs and nouns.
 Outcome:
By the end of the lesson, learners will be more aware that the same English
words can be represented and applied in a multidimensional way.
Today’s Lesson
In todays lesson we will question what a noun and verb is and the common
relationship they may share in the English language.
Firstly, defined will be the noun; secondly, defined will be the verb. Once an
awareness has been constructed the next level will be the objective. Thirdly, the
lesson will move onto the relationship some nouns and verbs share. Following
onto an individual activity at the end answers will be shared with the rest of the
class. Fourthly, A practical video will be used and discussed during the main part
of the lesson. This will follow with an activity and again answers will be shared
with the class. Finally, we will summarise what was learned.
What is a noun?
 Is a word that refers to a person place or thing (Collins, 2013).
What is a verb?
 The expression of an idea of action, happening, or being (Collins, 2013).
A noun can be a verb
Believe it or not, a noun can be a verb or vice versa.

 3 min Can you each think of a noun that is a verb?
