Database security for preventing SQL injection attacks 2
Abstract
SQL injections are the serious threat to the web applications; they permit attackers to acquire
unlimited access to the databases and sensitive data these databases contain. Despite the fact that
analysts and experts have proposed different strategies to address the SQL injection attacks. Many
solutions are able to solve only some of the issues related to it. This document provides the types ...

Because these vulnerabilities can provide access to the sensitive information, this can result in loss of
confidential data. In some cases, the attacker can take control the host web application by using SQL
injection.
Injection Techniques
a. Injection through user input: the attackers inject SQL statements by giving reasonably user input. A
web application can read user data based on the environment in which application is deployed. This
helps the attacker to get the user data directly from them.
b. Injection through cookies: Cookies are data sent from a website and stored on the client system. If
web applications access the cookies to establish SQL queries then an attacker can easily submit an
attack by combining it in cookie.
c. Injection through variables: Variables are the group that contains HTTP, network headers, and
environmental variables. If these variables are associated with the database without altering, this
creates SQL injection vulnerability.

SQL Injection Attack Types
This section provides various types of attacks that are not performed in isolation; many of them used
depending on the goals of an attacker.
a. Tautologies
In this, the attacker redirects the authentication and identifies the parameters and extracts the required
data from the user.

Women s Marches Analysis
David Brooks, from the New York Times, asserts that the women s marches will not be effective
because they focus on the wrong issues such as climate change and equal pay (Brooks). These issues
are for the upper middle class and do not center around diversity, but rather prioritize identity politics
which is a tendency for people to form political alliances with those of the same religion, race,
ethnicity, etc. Diversity plays a major role in America and it is important for everyone to embrace it.
Brooks also says that another reason the women s marches will not be a success is because there is too
big a gap between the marches and the Democratic and Republican Parties (Brooks). In order for
something to occur, a political party has to

Lyme disease is an inflammatory disease characterized at first by a fever, headache, chills, and a rash
and later by arthritis, cardiac, and neurological disorders, caused by bacteria that is spread by ticks.
Lyme disease is common in North America, Europe, and Asia and is caused by bacteria called Borrelia
burgdorferi. Infected ticks spread the bacteria by biting people or animals. There are two kinds of ticks
that carry Lyme disease in the U.S.. They are the deer tick, found in the Northeast and Midwest, and
the western black legged tick, predominantly found along the Pacific coast in northern California and

Comparison of Mexico and Brazil Essay examples
Brazil and Mexico are both the giants of their geographic realms (de Blij and Muller 219,254).
Mexico constitutes an entire geographic region of Middle America (200). The country of Brazil is also
considered a single region in South America (239). Both of these regions have very large populations
in comparison to the other regions of their realms. Mexico s current population of 102 million people
has more than doubled in size since 1970 (219). Brazil s estimated population is currently near 167
million people (254). The populations of both regions are becoming increasingly more urban in
character. At least seventy four percent of Mexico s population resides in cities or towns (220).
Similarly in Brazil, eighty percent of the population ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
67 million Brazilians can trace their ancestries to European, African, and Amerindian bloodlines. A
slim majority of Brazilians are of European decent. These people are the ancestors of immigrants from
Eastern Europe, Portugal, Germany, and Italy. Brazil also has the largest population of Japanese
outside of Japan (254).
Despite the differences in their ethnicity, the populations of these regions are both highly urbanized. In
Brazil eighty percent of the population resides in urban areas (Microsoft Encarta). Nearly seventy five
percent of Mexico s people are urban dwellers (de Blij and Muller 220). The largest cities of these
regions are Mexico City, Mexico (221) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (259). Mexico City is the home of a
little more than twenty five percent of Mexico s total population. Mexico City s population grows by
amazing amounts each year; the city will probably soon be the most populated city on Earth. Right
now the population of Mexico City is twenty eight million (221). Sao Paulo in Brazil is also growing
remarkably fast. Presently the population of Sao Paulo is Twenty three million Sao Paulo s population
has more than doubled in the past thirty years (259).
Sao Paulo and Mexico City are facing some of the same problems. Sao Paulo and Mexico City are
both marked by areas of great economic contrasts. Mexico City has more than five hundred areas that
can be called slums.

Stereotypes In Grey s Anatomy
I only viewed two stereotypes in the shows I watched. The first stereotype is that In Grey s Anatomy
they made women seem hysterical and clueless when it came to a pregnancy. They also made the dads
seem useless because they were hardly in the room. In the show they also made The Doctors look
arrogant and selfish because as if every doctor only believes in experimenting instead of truly helping
a patient. In the commercials there were a lot of stereotypes. The asian aways played the smart guy or
tech savvy guy. The older man always played the wealthy guys or someone who is extremly sick in
health. There was a certain Lexus commercial that stuck with me because its a fast car a man is
driving and when he gets home he finds his wife with a man

Low Volume-High Intensity Exercise Analysis
1. Wadley, Alex J., et al. Low volume high intensity interval exercise elicits antioxidant and anti
inflammatory effects in humans. Journal of sports sciences 34.1 (2016): 1 9. In this study, researchers
used untrained male subjects to compare the effect low volume high intensity exercise interval (LV
HIIE) and steady state exercise has on anti inflammatory (IL 6 IL 10) and antioxidant levels in the
blood during and afterwards. Cytokines are proteins, connected to the level of oxidative stress present
at that time. Steady state exercise, along with the magnitude of intensity, causes an increase in the
production of pro and anti inflammatory cytokines. A small sample (10) of untrained male subjects
completed 3 different exercise bouts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Researchers tested IL 6 levels in both male and female subjects, by gathering sweat, capillary and
venous blood samples of the participants. Males were instructed to cycle for a total of 75 minutes at a
workload of 60% of VO2peak W, breaking at the 45 minute mark to collect venous and capillary
samples. Females cycled for 60 minutes of a workload 60% of their VO2peak. Sweat and venous
samples were collected at 20 minutes and the conclusion of exercise. The experimenters were hoping
that since HIIT has the ability to produce elevated amounts of IL 6 circulating in the blood, it would
be detectable in all 3 measurements. However, concentration of IL 6 were undetectable in the sweat
samples collected. Venous and capillary blood samples did show significant increases in their
concentrations. A higher level was noted before the start of exercise, but was linked to the under
vasodilated venous vessels. IL 6 continued to increase in both samples following the cycling exercise
conducted by males. The study did not specifically if there were any gender differences or if that

British Rule in India and the Response of Indian Society
India is a country that is rich in culture and spiritual beliefs. This all changed when the British landed
a company that not only changed the societal business but also the government rule as well as their
cultural aspects. This company was named the East India Company. With its gradual expansion, the
company managed to build English communities in Calcutta, Bombay, and Madras; the three
presidency states of India. Although the East India Company s intentions where to pursue and expand
trade with the East Indies, they manage to gain control of India by utilizing military power. The
appointed governor general of this company was Warren Hasting who established the base of British
India as a controlled government system. Many Indian s were ... Show more content on

was declining slowly into the background, the Muslim s and Hindu s were in question on how the
nation state was going to be divided. The Partition of Bengal was developed in 1905 by a Viceroy
named Lord Curzon. It was encourage for administrative motives. Due to its enormous population, it
was hard to manage. The government thought it would been a good idea to divide Bengal into two
because they know that they can never mix Hindu s and Muslim s together. Muslim s highly favored
this partition due to having a dominated control over the area, while Hindus opposed it because they
did not want Muslim s to have much of a control over them. The Hindus protest against this partition
led to Muslims forming a Muslim organization called the All Muslim League. Muslims wanted to
secure their place in eastern Bengal. Muhammed Ali Jinnah was the leader whom tried to unite the
Muslims and Hindus to gain the independence of India. But he failed to unite the two nations and in a
conference in Lahore in 1940, he stated: Hindus and the Muslims belong to two different religions,
philosophies, social customs and literature.....To yoke

The Controversial Restoration of the Sistine Chapel
The restoration of the Sistine Chapel in the 1980 s and 90 s was very controversial. This issue began
because Michelangelo, the painter of the Sistine Chapels ceiling, did the painting as a fresco. This
means that the paint was absorbed in the wall, thus becoming part of the wall itself. Like many other
walls and building, over time they began to crack and deteriorate. During the time of the consideration
of the restoration of the chapel, the fresco had been up for over 500 years. As one would expect, there
had been many cracks in the ceiling and the coloring of the ceiling was becoming dull. The ceiling
was also dusty and covered in grime from candle smoke and burning coal. Before the newest and most
major renovation of the chapel, there had been other previous smaller ones. In some of these
restorations, a type of glue was used to temporarily brighten the dark colors. Unfortunately, the glue
helped to attract more dust and grime, which took away from the efforts of restoring it. In one attempt
to restore the ceiling, wine and bread were used to clean it. I cannot not see how anyone would think
that would work and it obviously did not. The most current restoration began in the 1980 s and lasted
for about twelve to fourteen years. This restoration included some of the best restorers worldwide. The
Nippon Television Corporation, a Japanese television company, donated 3 million dollars to fund this
project and in return required that they had exclusive television and

Mistreatment And Endangerment In Harrison Bergeron By Kurt...
In the short story Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, the author reminds us how government limits
the powers of the people. Vonnegut s portrayal of mistreatment and endangerment is satirical. Today,
mistreatment in the government is still continuous in countries like Russia and North Korea. These are
countries that have relatively up to date technology, but they are run by tyrants.
In 2006, a reporter by the name of Alexander Litvinenko suffered a fatal dose of polonium 210, ( Putin
implicated in fatal poisoning of former KGB officer at London hotel. The Washington Post), which
was believed that it came from a direct order of President Vladimir Putin of Russia. Having worked in
counter
intelligence for the KGB and its successor, the FSB, Litvinenko was fired in 1998 after holding
a news conference in which he was sharply critical of the agency and, by implication, its then director:
Putin. He defected to Britain two years later and spent years on the payroll of its main foreign
intelligence agency, MI6. Litvinenko also assisted Spanish intelligence agencies with their
investigations into Russian crime networks. In addition to his covert work, Litvinenko was a prolific
writer, publishing books and articles that were unsparing in their criticism of Russia s security services
generally and of Putin in particular. One article even accused the Russian president of pedophilia.
Litvinenko had become a British citizen just weeks before his death, a move that he had told

Comparing Digging and Follower by Seamus Heaney Essays
Examine two poems, Digging and Follower by Seamus Heaney and then compare the poems,
explaining both their differences and similarities.
The first poem I am going to examine is digging by Seamus Heaney. I will first comment on the title
of the poem. Digging has both a metaphorical and literal meaning to it. The literal meaning is that his
father and his grandfather are farmers. The poem talks about the men Digging and working, so this
explains the literal meaning of the poem. The metaphorical meaning is that Seamus Heaney is Digging
into his past and back round, which is farming. So, the title is rather effective. Now I will examine the
rest of the poem.
Firstly, I will look at, and comment on, the first stanza. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes his father sound very professional. It sounds as if he wants us to admire his father. Once
again, the word digging is repeated in the literal sense.
The first line of the fourth stanza also implies that his father was very professional by using technical
words such as lug and shaft and then again in the second line; levered firmly . In the last line of this
stanza, tactile imagery is used. It reads loving their cool hardness in our hands
The fifth stanza is only two lines long, and is said in a rather conversational tone; as if Seamus Heaney
is speaking it in a general conversation. It isn t like a poem at all. It says By god the old man could
handle a spade . He is boasting here, like a child in a playground. It conveys a boastful, bragging tone.
Just like his old man sets in motion the chain of memory.
The sixth stanza starts of in the same boastful tone as the fifth stanza was. My grandfather cut more
turf in a day, than any other man on Toner s bog . This is also said in a conversational tone. He seems
very proud of his grandfather, just like he does his father. His grandfather must have been good at his
job. He then contrasts his grandfather s work, by explaining of how he carried in a bottle of milk to his
grandfather once, corked sloppily with paper . It seems as if he doesn t feel that he is as good as if
father and grandfather were. Once again, in the seventh stanza, the word digging

The Incident Of An Oxygen Mask
Nerves bubbled in my stomach as we waited for the plane to take off. Every other student in year eight
buzzed with chatter, while Mr. Whitelock took attendance. It was announced two weeks ago that the
Eton Boys Boarding School, along with many other schools, would be traveling overseas to escape
from possible atomic warfare. This information didn t set in my mind till about two days before the
flight; I was moving away from my home and the only life I knew.
Russell Grohmann, Mr. Whitelock called interrupting my previous thoughts.
Here, I uttered back.
After attendance, the flight attendant came out and gave us safety procedures.
During the flight please keep your seat buckled until told otherwise and in case of emergency an
oxygen mask will come down from above your seats. Before helping anyone else, please, secure your
own mask. Thank you. she stated in a monotone voice, then walked to the back of the plane.
The plane took off and William, who constantly picked on my at school for both my appearance and
diction, decided to spark up a conversation.
Hey Piggy, how do you feel about the move? he asked bitterley, I ve heard Australia is amazing.
I m glad that we are moving to a safer place, but Australia is over 9,000 miles away and will be a huge
change from England, I replied back.
Yeah, I guess you re right, I m sure gonna miss England, he said, tears formed in his eyes.

Romania s Abandoned Children
Romania s Abandoned Children Biography Nicolae Ceausescu was a Romanian activist, military
leader, and president during the 71 years of his life. He was raised by peasant parents so he saw
firsthand the depredations that the people on the lower rungs of society had been forced to accept
throughout the many years of the monarchy that ruled the country. He went to work in a factory when
he was just 11 years old, and he almost immediately began following the communist philosophies and
reactionary politics. After World War II when Soviet Russia was beginning to dominate the region, he,
like many of his contemporaries, made sure that they were members of the ruling class that was
forming (Kaplan 81). He believed the communist ideology, and he was positioned, because of his
associations, to become a prominent member of the new party. When the communists came to power,
he was first a Minister of Defense, and then the head of the defense forces. When it came time to
select a leader after the death of Ceausescu s good friend and mentor Georghe Georghiu Dej who had
been the country s leader, Ceausescu was selected as a compromise between the many different
factions that wanted to rule the country (Kaplan 102). Ceausescu was seen as a good leader by
Western nations at first because he separated himself from many of the exclusionary Soviet Bloc
policies, but he changed after about ten years of leadership (Pop 64). For the final 15 years of his rule,
Ceausescu became a tyrant much

Descriptive Essay On The Boys In The Woods
The Boys in The Woods Our lives had flashed before our eyes, the car was tumbling down the road
with every hit of the ground the more I could hear my heartbeat stopping till everything went black.

shocked and repeating my name over and over again Johnny had rung in my ears till I saw his face
and I wanted to cry. Me and Jack look the same but he looked like a different person, I couldn t even
recognize my own brother. As the doctor came in he looked so sad I could feel his sorrow for me and
my brother. Both of you have minor injuries, said the doctor, However your parents did not......

away from us we were always asking for more and more until finally the only people that loved us
were taken away from us. It s been a week since that happened and living with Aunt April is not that
bad once I had gotten pass the fact she only loves us since we are rich, well when we get our
inheritance. I heard a loud crash then Jack came running into my room turning off all the lights and

Comparing Farris And Morrison s Analysis
Farris presents himself as someone with a lot of knowledge on environmental issues, views ANWR as
a scenic area that should continue to be preserved, and describes oil companies as holding mistaken
views backed with faulty logic. Morrison presents herself as a valid representation of the Alaskan
people, views ANWR as a beautiful landscape with a rich variety of life, and portrays oil companies as
greedy people just using Alaska for profit. Although Farris and Morrison share similar views, Farris
language has sarcastic undertones while criticizing the ANWR plan while Morrison s has more urgent
and serious undertones. This could be explained by the fact that Farris writing is geared toward a
progressive online journal while Morrison s is geared

Justin Trudeau s Promises To Canada
In the last week of April, Justin Trudeau visited Saskatoon s Oskayak High School. During his visit,
he received tough questions from First Nations teens on their futures and his promises (Harper A6).
The teens asked about First Nations suicides, genocide, Third World living conditions and respect for
treaties. How do you intend to honour the promises your ancestors made with mine exactly written in
all the signed treaties across Canada, to make up and pay for the acts of genocide our ancestors were
subject to long before and after the signing of Treaty Six? How do you (...) plan to right the wrongs of

These people are living in poor conditions and not being noticed or cared for. The government has
made many deals and promises to the First Nations people for land and better living for over a century,
and yet they have not followed through with a lot of their promises. This leaves the First Nations
people to face problems on their own that leave them wondering why these problems are not covered
by the government for them. Canada is seen as a culture embracing country, however when it comes to
First Nations, Canada falls short. First Nations people face higher rates of unemployment, lower life
expectancy, and have fewer high school graduates. These are only three of the many problems that
First Nations people face. Although Canada has taken many positive steps toward ending the
discrimination to First Nations people, there is and will always be room for improvement. This article
is relevant to Canadians because these problems are happening in Canada. These are the problems that
Canada has been involved in since 1701 when people from Britain had promised a peaceful
relationship between First Nations people and others. Yet the First Nations are not receiving the peace

The Pros And Cons Of Estes Roadway
The safety of the people shall be the highest law, (Cicero n.d. p1). Throughout history, the safety of
people has been arguably the most important objective of the government. Political leaders have made
a force including police, fire fighters, and etc. to keep the common population safe. Unfortunately the
system set up is not the most efficient at locating mistakes that could potentially bring harm to
citizens. Within the city of Longview, located in Texas, there is one of these mistakes posing a threat
to the population of the city. On the south side of the city there is a three way intersection between the
roads Estes Parkway (running north and south) and Highway 281 (running from the west to Estes
Parkway). This intersection designed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these solutions provide a viable way of increasing the safety of drivers in the intersection and
also make the intersection easier to follow direction. The first solution is based upon the idea that the
light pole will be shifted from the right side of Estes Parkway running north to the left side between
the median. This solution would eliminate the two extra traffic lights above the parallel road, and
focus on the intersection. The main issue with this idea is the cost involved with moving the traffic
light. According to the WSDOT it costs the taxpayer $250,000 to $500,000 to purchase and install a
traffic signal (WSDOT, n.d.). This also does not incorporate the amount of money that it would take to
provide the construction to move the light from one side of the street to the other. Over all, this first
solution could take upwards to 600,000 dollars to complete. The second solution to the intersection is
based on the idea that the two traffic lights over the intersection could be taken down and in
replacement there would be a sign placed in the spot instead. This would provide an easy
understanding of the intersection and also the drivers would not be confused on which sign was meant
for them. This change would save the city around 16,000 dollars a year based off of calculations from
WSDOT in the amount of money it takes to maintain traffic lights a year. Again there would have to
be a little construction, however, the cost to make this solution a reality would be much more cost
efficient for the tax payers dollars. Finally, the third option is to completely redesign the intersection
as a roundabout. The average cost to put an intersection in is just underneath 450,000 dollars (FHWA,
2015). That number however does not even begin to cover the operating expenses of the intersection.
WSDOT amounts the cost of maintenance and electricity per year to be about 8,000

it is a humans for treating them and telling them how to be. The BSL is not working it is a complete

strongly disagree with the BSL they are basically treating pitbull s, German Shepherd, Rottweiler and
many other breeds. The BSL basically tells the owners to treat their dogs as prisoners ,they are free
,but they are kept and treated like prisoners. For example if the BSL law is enforced in your city or

Co2 Adsorption Capacity Is Defined As A Measure Of An...
CO2 adsorption capacity is defined as a measure of an adsorbent s capability or potential to adsorb
CO2. It is expressed in terms of number of moles of CO2 that a unit mass of an adsorbent adsorbs
under equilibrium conditions. The CO2 adsorption isotherms for MCM 41 30, MCM 41 30 AP 9 85
0.5 and MCM 41 30 TP 9 75 0.3 at 30 °C are presented in Figure 6(a). The CO2 adsorption isotherms
for amine tethered samples exhibit a steep nonlinear concave shape due to the strong interactions
between carbon dioxide molecules and amine moieties. In contrast, MCM 41 30 exhibits a less steep
isotherm indicating that pure silica interacts with CO2 only by physisorption and hence lacks
sufficient strong affinity towards CO2. Therefore, it is clear that the ... Show more content on

Amine efficiency provides a measure of the fraction of amine groups present in an adsorbent that
actively participate in adsorbing CO2 by chemisorption. It is reported that the theoretical maximum
value for amine efficiency that an ideal adsorbent should exhibit under dry CO2 adsorption conditions
is 0.5 (for PCO2 = 0.1 0.2) i.e., in the absence of significant physisorption at non functionalized sites.
The amine efficiency values for MCM 41 30 AP 9 series and MCM 41 30 TP 9 series are presented in
Table 2, from which the variation in amine efficiency with respect to amine loading can be noticed.
From Table 2, it is evident that, as amine loading increases, at first amine efficiency increases, then
reaches a maximum at a critical value of amount of water added in the reaction mixture and then
finally drops off at water levels higher than the critical value for both mono and tri aminosilane
addition. The similar trend in amine efficiency is observed with respect to increase in grafting
temperature for constant amount of water, in case of both mono and tri amino silane compounds.
MCM 41 30 AP 9 85 0.5 sample exhibited the maximum amine efficiency of ~0.5, which is close to
theoretical maximum value. This proves that MCM 41 30 serves as an ideal support for amine
tethering process, where the CO2 adsorption process is not hindered due to transport/diffusion

a transition from one activity to another. The next activity was to watch an ABC phonics video. All the
children knew what they have to do. They had to sit nicely and quiet on the floor. Every single child
knew how to sit. They crossed their legs and put their hands in their laps. When the teacher saw that
all the children were sitting properly, she assumed that they were ready to learn. During this activity I
observed that Matthew and Jose were not engaged with this activity because they were looking to
other children instead to look to the screen. For the next activity the children had to take a tablet from
a cabinet. I was surprise because every single child knew the number of the tablet they have to take.
Later I noticed that it was because in the classroom every child has a

Emancipation Proclamation Analysis
E
In order to understand all the intricacies that went in to the Emancipation Proclamation you have to go
back a little further in history. You also have to understand that Lincoln was a master politician to
which some would argue has yet to be matched. Lincoln ran with the National Union Party which
wanted to end slavery. Lincoln was not proslavery however he was a politician which dictated how he
handled his beliefs in the public eye. When the Civil War broke out it was not about slavery it was
about preserving the Union. Lincoln had no idea that it would take as long as it did or the turns it
would take. Initially Lincoln and his war advisors decided to proceed with a three prong attack they
would call The Anaconda Plan. The first was to block the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After this was done the battle in Antietam would happen. This was also excellent timing. While the
battle was basically a draw the North was able to spin it thanks to newspaper depicting it as a win.
Lincoln seized this opportunity to send the Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation. By doing this he
opened the door to his power of Commander and Chief of the United States Army. The timing of this
document was also quite timely. It was sent out 5 days after the battle of Antietam and just hundred
days before the New Year. It stated that if the Confederates stated in the war the Union would start
freeing slaves. The South did not pull out of the war as a result on January 1, 1863 Lincoln made the
proclamation public. He justified doing so by stating in the proclamation that he was the Commander
and Chief and this was a necessary war measure. On this day no slaves were technically freed since
there was a restriction on who could be freed. The restriction stated that in order for slaves to be freed
they must reside in a state that was in active rebellion against the United States. All the Union slaves
were already free so it did not affect them over all but as the Union moved into the Confederate states
it affected a

Down Syndrome
The Disorder and the Role of the CSD Professional
Down syndrome is a genetic defect attributed to an abnormality of the human chromosome 21. The
National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), a national advocate organization for the value, acceptance
and inclusion of people with Down syndrome, notes that modern research has successfully identified
three types of Down syndrome. The NDSS reports that Nondisjunction Trisomy 21, in which there are
three copies of chromosome 21 instead of two, is the most common type of Down syndrome. Prior to

Children will benefit from aggressive treatment for hearing and ear care. There are three main areas of
focus for this treatment. The first is to ensure normalized hearing through either the insertion of ear
tubes or in some cases the use of hearing aids, secondly, proactive measures should be used to limit
recurring fluid in the middle ear through the use of medication and lastly, it is important to prevent
chronic ear infections or ear disease through a regiment of adequate ear care (Stoel Gammon, 2001).
For children with hearing loss, including an approach utilizing the teaching of sign language may help
to improve language development (Venail et al., 2004). There are misperceptions that introducing sign
language to infants/very young children will slow language development; this has been found to be
untrue. Sign language will not interfere with the progress of acquiring speech and language, but rather
it may actually aid in its development. (Fowler,

Inspector Calls
An Inspector s Calls is a play that was written by J.B. Priestley in 1945 but set in Edwardian England
1912. The play is set in a fictional industrial city in the North Midlands called Brumley. The fictional
industrial city of Brumley would have been typical of many towns, as in the town there would be
factory owners, who would provide much needed jobs, this meant that the factory owners were able to
run their businesses any way they wanted to. These factory owners were more important in 1912 than
they are now, as many industrialists got rich in the 1800s. For example, men like Arthur Birling may
have come from a modest background but his new wealth helped him climb up the social ladder,
gaining both a lot of power and respect. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first scene introduces the characters and gives a taste of their personality to the audience. Also the
play has an element of Whodunnit since Eva s Smiths story is slowly exposed due to the Inspector s
questioning.
Sheila is the daughter of Mr Arthur Birling and Mrs Sybil Birling; she is described by Priestley as a
pretty girl in her early twenties... pleased about life...excited. This makes the audience see Sheila as a
sweet lively young girl who appreciates life in her own bubble. The bubble makes her naive and
immature. We see Sheila being naive when she talks about the previous summer when Gerald
vanished. Gerald explains that he was awfully busy at work all the time , the audience see Sheila to be
youthful because she believes Gerald was really working during the whole summer. Sheila in the
beginning of the play says a little as she seems like a well mannered and not outspoken. Priestley
describes Sheila like an ordinary twenty year old girl, who is rather content with life, as Sheila is
excited about her engagement like any girl would be. She is also portrayed as spoilt and a girl who
gets her own way.
You ve got it... mummy isn t beautiful. This impression of Sheila is portrayed again and again later on
in the play. It also makes the audience feel jealous towards Sheila and not like her very much at the
start, later on it shows how dramatically Sheila changes from being spoilt to being more realistic

Umbrella Policy
What is an Umbrella policy?
An umbrella policy is an additional liability insurance coverage above and beyond the limits of the
insured s regular insurance for home, auto or watercraft. It is used to ensure an extra layer of security
for people at risk of being sued for damages done to others properties or physical injuries caused to
others as a result of an accident. The umbrella nomenclature is used as in referring to the broader
coverage provided by the policy.
Features:
These policies generally provide broader coverage on risk factors over one or more primary policies.
Hence, these policies may have defined the covered risk factors on quite broader terms than the
definitions as present in the primary policies. Sometimes, they skip ... Show more content on

Significant property damage: If a personal or business vehicle causes significant damage to another
vehicle and/or property through an accident as a result of the policy owner s fault, it may exhaust the
standard auto insurance liability limit. There comes the scope of personal or commercial umbrella
policies for automobile insurance.
2. Liability of serious physical injury: The policy owner s limit of standard homeowners insurance
liability may not be enough to cover costs for medical treatment and other issues related to a guest
falling prey to an accident inside his home. This needs a personal umbrella policy for the homeowner,
or a commercial umbrella policy if the house is a business property.
3. Libel or slander. Expensive lawsuits may result from something said or written by the policy owner
about another person. This calls for a personal umbrella policy.
4. Malicious prosecution. The policy owner may be subjected to a lawsuit of malicious or wrongful
intents and all the unpredicted expenses for legal proceedings have to be paid by him as long as the
charges are not shaken off. This again calls for a personal umbrella policy.
5. Landlord liability. Again, a tenant could file an expensive lawsuit over an injury suffered while
renting the policy owner s property. This also needs a personal umbrella policy for the

Oscar Wao Essay
The ending of a novel can be evaluated by the reader in several different ways, however to properly
analyze the work is to further explore the logic of how everything has come to be. The ability of the
author to show the reader that the ending is reasonable from the preceding action and the character s
nature is what should truly be examined. Not only is the ending of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar
Wao by Junot Diaz both happy and unhappy, it is logical in the sense that it follows logically from the
climax of the novel all while the character s have been constant throughout, except Oscar. Oscar, the
protagonist experiences a life changing transformation that leads to his untimely death. However, the
ending is convincing because of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Trouble began to brew because of the woman, and it seemed logical to any normal person to
discontinue the pursuit; but Oscar s stubbornness that was frequently depicted in situations throughout
the novel led him to his death. In this novel there was no other way for Oscar to die logically; he
needed a big bang to bow out of his eccentric life and what better way for him, than to die for love.
True love, what Oscar had been searching for his entire life and finally found, had killed him. The
conclusion of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz is satisfying because the ending
revolved around Oscar s death, the separate stories of the novel now intertwined because of him. His
transformation and new personality was ultimately the cause of his death, but in a sense it can be
considered happy because it seems just right. Oscar becomes a new person and breaks free of his
nerdy and rejected persona. Diaz seamlessly weaves the ending of Oscar Wao s story and all the
characters around him due to their natures and the preceding actions. The ending of this novel is
convincing and logical because of Oscar s new transformation which led him to do things which he
would have not done before. These things that he did, most specifically pursuing a woman he should
not have, led him to his death. Despite the morbid ending, it is not unreasonable; it is certainly logical
and therefore satisfying to the

The general problems are casually written, so this statement cannot be proved in this passage but can

Unlike the emotional problems of adoptees compared to those of those not adopted, international

Freud s Developmental Stages Essay
Freud held strong beliefs about the roles of sex, procreation and the death drive within human
psychological development and developmental problems.
A brief summary of Freudian developmental stages:
Birth 1 year: Oral Stage.
This stage is concerned with the mouth and how the baby feeds i.e. sucking and is weaned on and
from mothers milk. He called this libido and refers to it as the driving force.
When the baby changes from sucking to biting this indicates the time for weaning and the next stage
which is solid food.
Freud believes that if this is done to abruptly it can cause trauma and inhibit healthy progression.
The individual could suffer from difficulties with food, oral behaviours such as smoking, gossip and

This stage is concerned with child s need to do things on their own terms, the conflict arises for them
where they have a need to assert their own will but also crave parental approval, this time can produce
a battle of wills between parent and child.
Age 3 6 years: The phallic stage.
At the core of this stage we see the child begin to learn about other people around them and the roles
they play, as children often learn by mimicking or copying they begin to do that with the same sex role
models according to Freud, although in the modern world this is not so clear cut as there are many
single sex parents and same gender parents raising families, which back then would not have been
accepted.
However, as the child becomes more aware of their genitals they will become increasingly curious
about sexual differences.
This is a very important stage in psychological development. There are some differing accounts about
what the Oedipal complex truly represents but it is clear it is a time of confusion for a

Cons Of Abortion Research Paper
To begin, abortion is likely the most popular controversial topic that many people do have very
different opinions about so in this essay I am going to attempt to be as open minded as possible. As an
introduction to my stance, I am proudly, pro choice. When I was presented with the idea of abortions
and began to understand them, it came to my attention that there are thousands of involuntary
pregnancies, in America alone, from rape. Yet I am, in no way, trying to single out rape as a reason to
refer to abortion as an option. Although, despite the recent light being cast onto rape culture in recent
media, there still seem to be an outrageous amount of people undermining what the rape victims want
to do with their unborn children. Those with pro life views often focus on the fetus without taking into

the child is merely a clump of cells to roughly the size of a soccer ball, depending on the state they

child that essentially resembles a newborn is murder needs to dissipate completely. The mother is

Human Life In Thornton Wilder s Play Our Town
Thornton Wilder s play, Our Town, outlines the lives of two families realistically from 1901 to 1913.
Multiple themes are presented through the lives of these families in three separate acts: Daily Life ,
Love and Marriage , and Death and Eternity . Although each act entails different commonly faced
problems and themes, the play does not lack a central, universal theme. Each act contributes to a main
theme about human life that, even after 81 years, is still relevant to society today. The main theme of
the play, Our Town, is that human life is repetitive and temporary. The repetition of daily life can
mainly be found in Acts I and II, where the Gibbes, Webbs, and other characters continually do the
same thing everyday. The first act, Daily Life , begins with Howie Newsome, deliverin the milk
(Wilder 10) to the Webb and Gibbs families. Similarly to Act I, the second act, Love and Marriage ,
starts with Howie Newsome delivering the milk (49). The beginnings of the acts presents little change
between the mornings of three years. Therefore, Wilder has symbolized repetition in a human s life
through the characters in Our Town. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Stigma Damages In The Media
Stigma damages is all about perceptions. These perceptions can be reasonable or unreasonable. The
public hears about these incidents occurring to property and then make their perceptions of how they
view the property. The public is what creates the perceptions and therefore, triggers the risks that
become associated to that contaminated property. Media has a lot to do with this. For the most part,
people are uneducated with the risks that are associated with contamination on property and believe
what they hear on the media, which can be biased and incorrect. Based on studies, the media usually
broadcasts the big stories with the major contaminations on property. Therefore, people perceive these
incidents as the risks that can occur on their property if contaminated. These perceptions also affects
the owners behavior because the fear could make them do drastic things or just make them feel
paranoid of what people may think about their property. It is hard to prevent media from broadcasting
the stories they want to show, therefore, there is always going to be these perceptions from people
about contamination. These property owners just have to prove with some evidence, some type of ...

Mexico constitutes an entire geographic region of Middle America (200). The country of Brazil is also considered a single region in South America (239). Both of these regions have very large populations in comparison to the other regions of their realms. Mexico s current population of 102 million people has more than doubled in size since 1970 (219). Brazil s estimated population is currently near 167 million people (254). The populations of both regions are becoming increasingly more urban in character. The first stereotype is that In Grey s Anatomy they made women seem hysterical and clueless when it came to a pregnancy. They also made the dads seem useless because they were hardly in the room. In this study, researchers used untrained male subjects to compare the effect low volume high intensity exercise interval (LV HIIE) and steady state exercise has on anti inflammatory (IL 6 IL 10) and antioxidant levels in the blood during and afterwards. Cytokines are proteins, connected to the level of oxidative stress present at that time. Females cycled for 60 minutes of a workload 60% of their VO2peak. Sweat and venous samples were collected at 20 minutes and the conclusion of exercise. The experimenters were hoping that since HIIT has the ability to produce elevated amounts of IL 6 circulating in the blood, it would be detectable in all 3 measurements. • 10. The Controversial Restoration of the Sistine Chapel The restoration of the Sistine Chapel in the 1980 s and 90 s was very controversial. This issue began because Michelangelo, the painter of the Sistine Chapels ceiling, did the painting as a fresco. This means that the paint was absorbed in the wall, thus becoming part of the wall itself. Like many other walls and building, over time they began to crack and deteriorate. During the time of the consideration of the restoration of the chapel, the fresco had been up for over 500 years. As one would expect, there had been many cracks in the ceiling and the coloring of the ceiling was becoming dull. The ceiling was also dusty and covered in grime from candle smoke and burning coal. Before the newest and most major renovation of the chapel, there had been other previous smaller ones. In some of these restorations, a type of glue was used to temporarily brighten the dark colors. Unfortunately, the glue helped to attract more dust and grime, which took away from the efforts of restoring it. In one attempt to restore the ceiling, wine and bread were used to clean it. I cannot not see how anyone would think that would work and it obviously did not. The most current restoration began in the 1980 s and lasted for about twelve to fourteen years. This restoration included some of the best restorers worldwide. The first poem I am going to examine is digging by Seamus Heaney. I will first comment on the title of the poem. Digging has both a metaphorical and literal meaning to it. The literal meaning is that his father and his grandfather are farmers. The poem talks about the men Digging and working, so this explains the literal meaning of the poem. The metaphorical meaning is that Seamus Heaney is Digging into his past and back round, which is farming. So, the title is rather effective. Now I will examine the rest of the poem. In the last line of this stanza, tactile imagery is used. He went to work in a factory when he was just 11 years old, and he almost immediately began following the communist philosophies and reactionary politics. After World War II when Soviet Russia was beginning to dominate the region, he, like many of his contemporaries, made sure that they were members of the ruling class that was forming (Kaplan 81). Political leaders have made a force including police, fire fighters, and etc. to keep the common population safe. Unfortunately the system set up is not the most efficient at locating mistakes that could potentially bring harm to citizens. Within the city of Longview, located in Texas, there is one of these mistakes posing a threat to the population of the city. All of these solutions provide a viable way of increasing the safety of drivers in the intersection and also make the intersection easier to follow direction. The first solution is based upon the idea that the light pole will be shifted from the right side of Estes Parkway running north to the left side between the median. This solution would eliminate the two extra traffic lights above the parallel road, and focus on the intersection. The main issue with this idea is the cost involved with moving the traffic light. According to the WSDOT it costs the taxpayer $250,000 to $500,000 to purchase and install a traffic signal (WSDOT, n.d.). This also does not incorporate the amount of money that it would take to provide the construction to move the light from one side of the street to the other. Over all, this first solution could take upwards to 600,000 dollars to complete. The second solution to the intersection is based on the idea that the two traffic lights over the intersection could be taken down and in replacement there would be a sign placed in the spot instead. This would provide an easy understanding of the intersection and also the drivers would not be confused on which sign was meant for them. This change would save the city around 16,000 dollars a year based off of calculations from WSDOT in the amount of money it takes to maintain traffic lights a year. Again there would have to be a little construction, however, the cost to make this solution a reality would be much more cost efficient for the tax payers dollars. Finally, the third option is to completely redesign the intersection as a roundabout. The average cost to put an intersection in is just underneath 450,000 dollars (FHWA, 2015). That number however does not even begin to cover the operating expenses of the intersection. WSDOT amounts the cost of maintenance and electricity per year to be about 8,000 ... It is expressed in terms of number of moles of CO2 that a unit mass of an adsorbent adsorbs under equilibrium conditions. The CO2 adsorption isotherms for MCM 41 30, MCM 41 30 AP 9 85 0.5 and MCM 41 30 TP 9 75 0.3 at 30 °C are presented in Figure 6(a). The CO2 adsorption isotherms for amine tethered samples exhibit a steep nonlinear concave shape due to the strong interactions between carbon dioxide molecules and amine moieties. In contrast, MCM 41 30 exhibits a less steep isotherm indicating that pure silica interacts with CO2 only by physisorption and hence lacks sufficient strong affinity towards CO2. Therefore, it is clear that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Amine efficiency provides a measure of the fraction of amine groups present in an adsorbent that actively participate in adsorbing CO2 by chemisorption. It is reported that the theoretical maximum value for amine efficiency that an ideal adsorbent should exhibit under dry CO2 adsorption conditions is 0.5 (for PCO2 = 0.1 0.2) i.e., in the absence of significant physisorption at non functionalized sites. The amine efficiency values for MCM 41 30 AP 9 series and MCM 41 30 TP 9 series are presented in Table 2, from which the variation in amine efficiency with respect to amine loading can be noticed. From Table 2, it is evident that, as amine loading increases, at first amine efficiency increases, then reaches a maximum at a critical value of amount of water added in the reaction mixture and then finally drops off at water levels higher than the critical value for both mono and tri aminosilane addition. The similar trend in amine efficiency is observed with respect to increase in grafting temperature for constant amount of water, in case of both mono and tri amino silane compounds. MCM 41 30 AP 9 85 0.5 sample exhibited the maximum amine efficiency of ~0.5, which is close to theoretical maximum value. The first is to ensure normalized hearing through either the insertion of ear tubes or in some cases the use of hearing aids, secondly, proactive measures should be used to limit recurring fluid in the middle ear through the use of medication and lastly, it is important to prevent chronic ear infections or ear disease through a regiment of adequate ear care (Stoel Gammon, 2001). For children with hearing loss, including an approach utilizing the teaching of sign language may help to improve language development (Venail et al., 2004). • 27. Inspector Calls An Inspector s Calls is a play that was written by J.B. Priestley in 1945 but set in Edwardian England 1912. The play is set in a fictional industrial city in the North Midlands called Brumley. The fictional industrial city of Brumley would have been typical of many towns, as in the town there would be factory owners, who would provide much needed jobs, this meant that the factory owners were able to run their businesses any way they wanted to. These factory owners were more important in 1912 than they are now, as many industrialists got rich in the 1800s. For example, men like Arthur Birling may have come from a modest background but his new wealth helped him climb up the social ladder, gaining both a lot of power and respect. This ... Also the play has an element of Whodunnit since Eva s Smiths story is slowly exposed due to the Inspector s questioning. Sheila is the daughter of Mr Arthur Birling and Mrs Sybil Birling; she is described by Priestley as a pretty girl in her early twenties... pleased about life...excited. This makes the audience see Sheila as a sweet lively young girl who appreciates life in her own bubble. The bubble makes her naive and immature. We see Sheila being naive when she talks about the previous summer when Gerald vanished. Gerald explains that he was awfully busy at work all the time , the audience see Sheila to be youthful because she believes Gerald was really working during the whole summer. Sheila in the beginning of the play says a little as she seems like a well mannered and not outspoken. Priestley describes Sheila like an ordinary twenty year old girl, who is rather content with life, as Sheila is excited about her engagement like any girl would be. She is also portrayed as spoilt and a girl who gets her own way. You ve got it... mummy isn t beautiful. This impression of Sheila is portrayed again and again later on in the play. It also makes the audience feel jealous towards Sheila and not like her very much at the start, later on it shows how dramatically Sheila changes from being spoilt to being more realistic ... An umbrella policy is an additional liability insurance coverage above and beyond the limits of the insured s regular insurance for home, auto or watercraft. Oscar Wao Essay The ending of a novel can be evaluated by the reader in several different ways, however to properly analyze the work is to further explore the logic of how everything has come to be. The ability of the author to show the reader that the ending is reasonable from the preceding action and the character s nature is what should truly be examined. Not only is the ending of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz both happy and unhappy, it is logical in the sense that it follows logically from the climax of the novel all while the character s have been constant throughout, except Oscar. Trouble began to brew because of the woman, and it seemed logical to any normal person to discontinue the pursuit; but Oscar s stubbornness that was frequently depicted in situations throughout the novel led him to his death. In this novel there was no other way for Oscar to die logically; he needed a big bang to bow out of his eccentric life and what better way for him, than to die for love. True love, what Oscar had been searching for his entire life and finally found, had killed him. The conclusion of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz is satisfying because the ending revolved around Oscar s death, the separate stories of the novel now intertwined because of him. His transformation and new personality was ultimately the cause of his death, but in a sense it can be considered happy because it seems just right. Oscar becomes a new person and breaks free of his nerdy and rejected persona. Diaz seamlessly weaves the ending of Oscar Wao s story and all the characters around him due to their natures and the preceding actions. The ending of this novel is convincing and logical because of Oscar s new transformation which led him to do things which he would have not done before. These things that he did, most specifically pursuing a woman he should not have, led him to his death. Despite the morbid ending, it is not unreasonable; it is certainly logical and therefore satisfying to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Human Life In Thornton Wilder s Play Our Town Thornton Wilder s play, Our Town, outlines the lives of two families realistically from 1901 to 1913. Multiple themes are presented through the lives of these families in three separate acts: Daily Life , Love and Marriage , and Death and Eternity . Although each act entails different commonly faced problems and themes, the play does not lack a central, universal theme. Each act contributes to a main theme about human life that, even after 81 years, is still relevant to society today. The main theme of the play, Our Town, is that human life is repetitive and temporary. The repetition of daily life can mainly be found in Acts I and II, where the Gibbes, Webbs, and other characters continually do the same thing everyday. The first act, Daily Life , begins with Howie Newsome, deliverin the milk (Wilder 10) to the Webb and Gibbs families.
