My Personal History With Communication Technology
As I look back at my personal history with communication technology I remember using many forms
of social media to communicate with my friends and family. Back in the day when I was in junior high
I remember using MySpace, Skype, and phone calls. Today on the other hand I mainly use Facebook,
Instagram, and Snapchat. There are many reasons why I use these sites but I use some sites more
frequently than others it just depends on the person I want to communicate with.
My social media usage varies on the purpose I want to use it for or with whom I want to communicate
with. The reason I used MySpace in the past was to be cool like the rest of my friends that were using
it during that time. Before I had my own cell phone I was able to have my own MySpace account. The
reason I would use MySpace is because everyone at school would use it, so I wanted to fit in with the
rest of my friends. I used MySpace to talk friends that had added me or friends of friends that I knew
about but had never met in person. I would use it to communicate with them rather than calling them
on the phone. MySpace was the site where I could portray myself in any way I wanted. I had the
choice of what pictures people could see of me, which music I liked, and other personal things that I
could choose to display. MySpace was a way for me to have some kind of social interactions with
people I did not necessarily know, love, or have an attraction to. MySpace was just a way to keep
myself connected with society

Review Of Michael Ignatieff s A Sense Of Belonging
A Sense of Belonging Arises
Based on 2004 Question 3
Michael Ignatieff, a Practice of Human Rights Professor, observed a key characteristic in how humans
relate and bond with one another: intuition shared within groups that helps set rules and regulations,
ultimately setting them apart. His observation calls into question the connection between these
unspoken rules, and the sense of belonging felt by group members. With his observations in mind, it is
natural to assume that unspoken rules and belonging coincide because they define a group by giving
them an image and general understanding of each other.
Often it is found that having common interests affects the people within, as well as the image of, a
certain group. When people think back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consider sitting in your high school with multiple different groups of people around. You hear
numerous conversations coming from every direction and laughter filling the halls, but you are left
standing in the hallway alone, feeling outcast, because you have no connection with those people.
Having desolate feelings comes in response to this situation, and overall, it takes away from that sense
of belonging. The unspoken rules present in these groups are responsible for the loss of belonging.
People that do not fit the requirements within the rules often find themselves feeling as though they
are outcasts in society. Individually, they will perceive themselves to be outsiders without a belonging
in the social order because their traits do not match the desired ones in society. Additionally, the
people in each specific group will begin to exclude the said outcasts because they do not belong in the
clique. As a result, social events and conversations become more exclusive to those who fit the
unspoken rules. This unfortunately can lead to bullying, for the exclusive people will make the
outsiders feel unwelcomed and criticized. One who does not fit in with others will find themselves
feeling insecure about their life and role in the community. Therefore, the unspoken rules of society
affect each individual s sense of belonging in both a positive and negative

Abraham Lincoln Freedman
Have you ever heard of Abraham Lincoln? Most Americans have, because he was one of the most
loved, and most hated presidents we ever had. He didn t start that way though. He was born in
Kentucky, in a one room, one window, hard packed dirt floor log cabin. He worked hard and was
ambitious, and over time he became one of the most well known presidents of the United States.
According to Russell Freedman, Lincoln was very ambitious and eager to prove himself.
In Lincoln: a Photobiography Russell Freedman claims that Lincoln was ambitious. Lincoln s family
was poor, so he tried to help them earn money. Then, when he was 17 years old, he got hired by a rich
old man to row his son down the river, On a twelve hundred mile flat boat voyage to New Orleans.
Lincoln earned 24 dollars for the three month voyage, which was a lot of money at the time. He must
have been brave, because he didn t know the man he was traveling with, and he didn t know how long
it would take. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On page 19 of Lincoln: Photo biography, it says, He joined the New Salem debate society, which met
once a week. Through the society, he got to meet many people and became more eager to have his
ideas shared. One of his fellow debaters, Mentor Graham, who was a schoolmaster, taught him
English and grammar. Turning him from a boy who had a country accent to a man who could grab
your thoughts and turn them toward what he thought. This also opened him to the idea of being a
lawyer.
Lincoln was ambitious according to Russell Freedman. Lincoln became a lawyer in 1830, then he
joined Congress 17 years later in 1847. He was quickly rising out of the poor shop keeper business
into the political business. This reminds me of President Trump, a businessman with no political
background who just became president of the United States. And not many people are happy with his
ideas, but, like Lincoln, he may turn out to be great just the

Why Security Personnel Should Act
Abstract For traditional computer vision methods the analysis of motion and behaviors in crowded
scenes constitutes a challenging task, as barriers like occlusions, varying crowd densities and complex
stochastic nature of their motions are difficult to overcome. As it has to be kept within reasonable
limits, the one more complicating factor is the computational cost. It is very crucial to analyze
crowded scenes in real time, or at least fast as possible, in many practical situations, considering the
fact that security personnel should act quickly if something seems to be unusual . Anomalous is a
problem which is not fitting into a familiar type, classification or pattern. HOS (Histogram of Oriented
Swarm) is used for detecting and localizing anomalous events in videos of crowded scenes. HOS
together with the HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradient) are combined to give a descriptor that helps
to effectively characterize each scene. The occurrences of gradient orientation in localized portion of
images can be count by this technique. The HOS descriptor analyses and localizes the anomalous and
normal events separately. Key word Anomalous Event,Gradient, HOS, HOG, 1. Introduction The use
of surveillance systems in roads, stations, malls, traffic or airports has led to a huge amount of data
that needs to be analyzed for safety, retrieval or even commercial reasons. The task of automatically
detecting frames with anomalous events from long duration video sequences has concerned

The Dimenon Of The Parthenon
The Parthenon The Parthenon in Athens, Greece, is a giant, architectural temple dedicated to the
goddess, Athena. Likewise, the Parthenon in modern Nashville, Tennessee, is an honorary replica of
the ancient monument. Many historians say it is an exact replica. Without a doubt, it is the closest
most people will ever come to experiencing the greatest temple of ancient Greece. A visit to the
Parthenon in Athens would have been an immense pleasure; however, the replica in Nashville is
adequately breathtaking. The enormous columns, the carvings along the top, the giant statue within,
and the larger than life bronze doors make this monument something to remember. The Parthenon and
its sculptures continue to live on through the replica in Nashville, Tennessee. The Parthenon is easily
mentioned as one of the oldest monuments in the world. Originally, the Parthenon was completed in
438 B.C. It is strategically placed atop the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The Acropolis simply means
high city in ancient Greece (Cole, 39). It is higher in elevation than all the other land below it, and
where Greece s most sacred temples were built. Also, it was built in such a way that when viewed
from afar, you can see the entire building. The purpose of the enormous building was to be a temple
dedicated to the goddess, Athena. According to Karl Cole, the Acropolis in Athens was the
battleground of a fight between Athena and Poseidon, with reward being assuming the role of the
protector of Athens

Teaching Argument Evaluation in An Introductory...
Teaching Argument Evaluation in An Introductory Philosophy Course
ABSTRACT: One of the greatest challenges in teaching an introductory philosophy course is
convincing students that there are, indeed, reliable standards for the evaluation of arguments. Too
often introductory students criticize an argument simply by contesting the truth of one of its claims.
And far too often, the only claim in an argument that meets serious objections is its conclusion. For
many students, the idea that an argument displays a structure which can be evaluated on its own terms
is not very difficult to grasp. Unfortunately, the idea is grasped only in an abstract way, with
insufficient appreciation of how structural problems manifest themselves in concrete ... Show more

The introductory philosophy student s inability to recognize argument structure presents us with a
problem that cannot be addressed simply by teaching logic. The problem that confronts us addresses a
fundamental pedagogical concern: Our task is to instill in the student the habit of clear thinking. When
we send our students out into the world, we have to make sure that they re prepared for it. This is not
simply a matter of providing them with tools. We ve looked at logic that way and we ve approached
teaching logic that way for far too long. Certainly logic may be employed as a tool; it can serve as an
incredibly powerful tool, as we who teach it know full well. But it s not logic per se that we should be
concerned with in our introductory courses. We want to teach our students how to think clearly and
responsibly. There is certainly a moral edge to this view of the situation, and the manner in which we
approach our pedagogical concern will not be without further philosophical prejudice. Ours is
Aristotelian. We have found that giving our students the basics of term logic serves our purpose well.
We do not introduce it as a tool for argument analysis a strong case can easily be made for the
superiority of truth functional logic in that respect we present it, rather, in the way that a kindergarten
teacher brings toys into the classroom. And we make it clear that term logic has limitations it s not an
all purpose tool.

The St Columba Altarpiece By Rogier Van Der Weyden
The St Columba Altarpiece (Columbia Triptych, c.1460), a three panel altarpiece by a well renowned
artist Rogier van der Weyden s, is considered a powerful piece of art and has inspired many artists.
Created approximately around 1460, it tells a narrative of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus
Christ. The Adoration of the Magi is the middle panel and perhaps the most famous piece among the
three. It portrays the visit of the Kings to the newborn Jesus. Since it is an altarpiece, and portrays
religious events, there is enough evidence to believe that the painting was commissioned by a church
in St Columba, hence its name.
The painting was created using oil paint on a wooden surface. Unlike several artworks of the northern
renaissance, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is standing on the right side of the Virgin Mary and observing the situation. His facial expression
looks a bit upsetting. There is a small table on his left where they placed one of the presents brought
by the Magi. The Virgin Mary is sitting at the center with Jesus in her arms. She is wearing a vivid
blue gown with white fabric underneath. There is a ray of light surrounding her head and she is
watching the baby with tenderness. The Virgin Mary s blue figure is contrasted by the vivid reds
surrounding her on the Magi, on Joseph s garments, the priest s and more thus accentuating the focal
point of the painting on her. The newborn infant on the other hand is half covered with a white cloth
that symbolizes purity and innocence.
Meanwhile on the ground, the older Magus, dressed in expensive clothing and jewelry made of gold is
kneeling in front of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. He had removed his hat the giant red hat laying on the
ground across from him as a sign of respect. He is carefully holding the small feet of the newborn
Savior and admiring him. His second companion is right behind him making his way to the baby
while carrying a golden chalice as a present. He is wearing fine embroidered expensive textile and a
red cloak. Following him, the youngest of the Magi is carrying another present made of gold with one
hand and removing his turban with the other, while waiting for his turn to see the newborn babe.

Examination of the Relationships Between Birth Weight and...
Purpose of Study
The primary goal of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the full birth weight
distribution and prevalence of specific developmental disabilities and related measures of health and
the use of special education services by US children. The researchers in this study collected and used
data from the 1997 2005 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) for this research analysis. The
NHIS is conducted annually and is a multistage probability sample survey of the US civilian, non
institutionalized population. Basic demographic and health information was collected during an in
person interview. The Sample Child Core questionnaire obtained information on the health of one
randomly selected child is provided by a knowledgeable adult (usually a parent or other legal
guardian). The data that is collected from this questionnaire represented the primary source for the
researchers analysis. The researchers used a sample of 87,578 children. More than 50% of children
were white and were from families with a household income above the federal poverty level and
maternal education beyond high school. Compared with children with birth weights of 3,500 3,999g,
children in all birth weight categories less than 3,000g were more likely to have one or more
developmental disabilities (3.4% 1.2% vs 1.1%). Children in all birth weight categories less than
2,500g were more likely to have three or more DDs (2.6% 6.5% vs 1.2%). In evaluating specific

Liberalism And Ligalitarianism
Politics is often discussed on the basis or right and wrong, left and right, and is riddled with false
dichotomies, when it really is a much more vivid and complex spectrum than that. There are many
different systems of governments and competing ideologies, that are further then divided in their
leanings and priorities. Of the first ideologies, Liberalism, is also subcategorized into different
interpretations based on how much of liberty is attainable and a governmental presence there should
be. It is divided into Classical Liberalism, Social Darwinism, Egalitarian Liberalism, Libertarianism,
and Libertarian Anarchism. The reason there is much contention within Liberalism as an ideology on
its own, is because all of these factions idealize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the one hand, with the emergence of the nation state and theories of sovereignty in the sixteenth
and seventeenth centuries, ideas of a distinctly public realm began to crystallize. On the other hand, in
reaction to the claims of monarchs and, later, parliaments to the unrestrained power to make law, there
developed a countervailing effort to stake out distinctively private spheres free from the encroaching
power of the state. Natural rights theories were elaborated in the seventeenth century for the purpose
of setting limits on state power, both over property and religious conscience(3). Many philosophers
such as Locke, Miller, and Paine, and Kant argue for these rights due to the fact that there was a great
social awakening and a growing urge to question the legitimacy of leadership. On these basis stood the
foundation of classical liberalism.
Classical Liberalism prioritizes above all things complete and total individual liberty. Believers in
Classical Liberalism assert that it must be served in completeness because any lack of it creates
citizens that are willingly dependent on the government. It is imperative to understand that Classical
Liberalism does not call for complete anarchy or even no government at all like Libertarian Anarchists
do, but rather a small government. Thomas Paine describes this idea as Society in every state is a
blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst

Suez Research Paper
Suez Scenario
Introduction:
The physical and geopolitical obstacles involved in building a canal in a foreign nation are numerous
and complex; however, a canal presents an excellent economic opportunity for imperialist nations. For
this reason, a French canal was a political, economic, and imperialist idea that had historical roots
back to the reign Louis XIV (Negrelli). Later Napoleon had a vision, reminiscent of Louis XIV, to
overcome nature through French imperialist efforts, including a massive investment of both monetary
and human capital to connect trade destinations. The isthmus between the Red and Mediterranean seas,
the Isthmus of Suez was viewed as a opportune chunk of land to excavate for the purpose of a canal to

The French occupation throughout Muhammed Said life, led to Ferdinand De Lesseps description of
the viceroy: The Prince was brought up in French ideas with an impetuous head and great sincerity of
character (9, De Lesseps). Thus, the presence of the French in Egypt implicitly conditioned
Muhammad Said to have French sympathies, which left the door open for continued amiable relations
along with potential progress in the Suez Canal project. Within the year that Muhammad Said came
into power, 1854, Ferdinand De Lesseps returned to Egypt in order to strategically rekindle his
youthful friendship Muhammad Said along with his past French diplomatic efforts in Egypt. The
relationship fostered between Ferdinand De Lesseps and Muhammed Said may have been the most
influential factor in the successful creation of the Suez Canal. Ferdinand De Lesseps was a very
talented and tactical diplomat for France: Ferdinand De Lesseps was a potent combination of vision
pragmatism, and will (7, Karabell). Ferdinand was able to be deliberate and meticulous with his
presentation skills in various diplomatic settings, while also being able to foster meaningful
correspondence and relationships. Furthermore, Ferdinand De Lesseps had mastered rhetorical
framing, including the timing of the message, in order to be perceived as he

Fashion Industry on Women´s Body Image
The fashion industry plays a huge role in portraying bad images of ideal beauty, which in turn affects
today s society perception of their own body image. Not only are women affected by what is seen and
heard about how the perfect body should appear, children of young ages are now feeling insecure and
obsessed with their bodies before they reach teenage years. This ideal image the fashion industry
continues to enforce only focuses on very thin models who seem to be in shape and are very healthy.
Furthermore, many people think of the influence from the fashion industry as being human
representations (models). Because of the rising problem with the image of beauty within the fashion
industry, it is shown that even mannequins and non human representations (mannequins, dolls,
photoshopping) of bodies play a significant role in women s body image; which causes problems to
the individual. (Anshutz Engels, 2010). Body image and self satisfaction, eating disorders and non
human representations all can cause harm to the individual, if prolonged. Women and girls on average
struggle with their self esteem and their overall body image throughout their lives. It especially comes
into effect with the constant portrayal of overly skinny mannequins or non human representations in
popular, stores, on the web, and on television (Clifford, 2011). In today s society the average woman is
bigger and mannequins are becoming smaller. It is difficult for the average woman to match their ideal

Character Analysis Of The Wonder Woman In The Wonder Woman
Anglo saxon literature is one of the many building blocks of what is called literature today. Over a
thousand years ago during the anglo saxon times, people would commonly write novels or poems that
revolved around heroes and other ubiquitous subjects such as monsters. In the film wonder woman
directed by Patty Jenkins heroic ideals are represented through the main character Diana Prince. The
daughter of Queen Hippolyta is characterized with the typical heroic ideal: strong, selfless, and loyal.
Throughout the film, the audience are presented with all kinds of characterization that is credible by
anglo saxon roots. In modern day, our works of literature, films, and poems consist of similar ideals
that the anglo saxons possessed; however, we also have shifted from some of the things that were
portrayed in their works. Our contemporary ideals also consist of other ideals such as feminism, love,
and intellectual power. Diana first appears in the film as a young girl who roamed around the paradise
of themyscira. Inspired by her mother and aunt, she would stand above the towering hills and image
their fighting techniques. Desperate, to be just like them Diana insisted to learn the ways of a warrior.
Her mother, hippolyta, began to be concerned of Diana s demands and does not want her only
daughter to be gain mighty strength. The queen feared that if Diana gained strength, she would be
found by their enemy, Ares the god of war. Eventually the queen gives in to her daughters

Woodrow Wilsons Acts to Progressivisms
In the year of 1912, Democrat electoral candidate Woodrow Wilson was running in the Presidential
Election against T.R. Roosevelt, W. Taft and E. Debs. After winning by a sland slide, and being
nominated as the 28th President of the United State. President Wilson quickly went to work to save
this nation from them, thus he created 2 antitrust laws and establishing the first federal bank.
Thus, in 1912 Wilson started to reshape America The Federal Reserve Act of 1912 was the beginning
of President Wilson s one of three progressivisms acts, within the first 2 yrs. of him being in power.
This was Wilson s first act as President and his progressive movement to help and stabilize a nation

Summary Of The Readers Strike By John Ross
In the reading, The Readers Strike , John Ross emphasizes the lives of cigar makers working in Ybor
City, Florida during the middle of the Great Depression. Although the Great Depression was a hard
time for most people, John Ross states that a few were well off through the great depression such as
fine cigar makers, certain stock brokers and politicians. Furthermore, cigar makers worked long hours
under the hot sun for low wages even though the cigar industry was doing better than most. However,
they still pooled their money together to pay for readers. These cigar makers were often foreigners
who were illiterate or spoke a different language. A contemporary issue arose with readers or los
lectores reading to the workers the words of Zola, Dickens, Cervantes, and Tolstoy that everything
they wrote was about the great depression and specifically the lives of the workers. ... Show more

Pantheon Vs Parthenon
This essay will be about two structures that were built by two different cultures. One was built in
Greece and the other was built in Rome. Both structure have the classical style of architecture but
were built in two different time periods. Both started out with the same function. One of the two
structures are no longer standing in all its glory and the other is still standing and being used today.
The building of the Parthenon was started in 447 BC at a time when the Athenian Empire was at the
height of its power. The temple continued until 432 BC.
The Parthenon s columns were of the Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian Order. The temple was dedicated to
the goddess Athena Pallas or Parthenos (virgin). The temple was triangular and had only two rooms. ...

The Pantheon is the best preserved building from ancient Rome. http://www.ancient.eu/Pantheon/
Archeological excavations have shown that the Pantheon, Rome had been destroyed, except for the
façade, not once but twice before it was completed.
The Pantheon, Rome has large granite Corinthian columns. The section of the building behind the
façade is round. It was originally faced with white marble stucco but is now brick and concrete. It has
a large circular domed cella with an oculus in the center to provide a natural source of light, as well as
serving as a cooling and ventilation method. The dome originally had a bronze ceiling, but in 1626 CE
Pope Urban VIII removed all of the bronze and had it melted and recast into 80 canons for the city s
Castel Sant Angelo.
Unlike the Greek temple Parthenon, the Pantheon, Rome s interior was deliberately made to outshine
the exterior of the building. This building has seven alcoves. Three of which are semi circular and four
rectangular. As noted earlier, the Parthenon only had two rectangular rooms.
Relatively early in its history, 608 CE, the building was converted into the Church of St. Mary of the

4.1) I am very interested in eating more plant based foods, I have even thought about going on a
vegetarian diet but one thing that does concern me here in the U.S is soy. Many reports have shown
that most of the plants especially soy beans are genetically modified and can cause a lot of health
issues if the tofu is unfermented. I would like to find some great Tofu and try it. If I enjoy the taste. I
may even, consider going on to a full plant based diet. I would have to outweigh the cost as well of
course. 5.1) I am currently working on my associates of nursing for I can help people. I have tried to
find what the purpose of my life is and decided that until I truly find it that I can help people. I love
helping people and feeling needed. Feeling needed it what gets me out of bed most of the time. The
only thing that I can see besides being in the medical field to feel a purpose to breath is to just explore
and see what the world has to offer. My long term goal is to have both of the worlds. I plan to hold a
solid job being a flight nurse while taking time every year to see nature.

Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy is more commonly known to...
Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy is more commonly known to humans as Mad Cow Disease or
BSE. BSE originated from scrapie or Endemic Spongiform Encephalopathy, which is a disease that
has affected mostly sheep and goats. BSE is an illness that attacks the brain and spinal cord of adult
cattle due to an infection by a transmissible agent known as a prion. Once affected by BSE cattle
began to develop strange behavior such as aggression, lack of coordination with the inability to stand
or walk, and abnormal posture; hence the name Mad Cow Disease (1).
Why BSE Should Be Eradicated
BSE is a fatal disease
BSE has been seen to progress very slowly in relation to other diseases, however is very contagious
and fatal for not only cattle, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of what many refer to as the domino effect, 90% of those infected will suffer a death within
one year (4).
Can BSE be Eradicated
A Tough Road Ahead
BSE is an extremely rare disease making it a very tough candidate for eradication. This is especially
true in humans; while still rare, BSE is much more common in cattle rather than humans. It is also
very tough to conduct studies with the rapid progression of the disease and the short lifespan of those
infected. Because the cattle commonly infected are vastly spread out between multiple countries, this
adds yet another obstacle to overcome when attempting to eradicate BSE in cattle and in return
eradicating vCJD in humans. Even with the obvious and difficult complications facing the
extermination of this disease the government and scientists have outlined a few ways to slow down the
progression and transmittal of BSE (5).
What Can Be Done Steps to Eradication
Despite the incredibly hard process ahead to eradicate BSE and vCJD here are the steps that have
already been put into place to begin the procedure. In July of 1988 a feed ban was introduced as the
key animal health control measure. The feed ban is thought to prevent the integration of conceivably
infectious material into animal feed for ruminants, and to prevent uninfected cattle from becoming ill.
The FDA decided to strengthen the 1988 rule in 1997 and 2008 by barring the use of high risk cattle
tissues in all animal feed.

Economic Development Strategy For The City Of Sydney
Basic Summary
Sydney is Australia s worldwide city, and the main learning based economy in the country. More than
$100 billion for each annum is produced in Sydney. That is more than half of what the whole mining
part creates, and double the span of the horticultural division at the farm gate.
In the course of the most recent five years our city economy has demonstrated its flexibility by
withstanding the worldwide financial recession. About 2000 organisations were added to the city since
2007. Major urban restoration ventures over the City of Sydney are giving occupations and lodging.
Green Square, Australia s biggest urban redevelopment task, is only 3.5kms from the downtown area.
The $8 billion redevelopment will give homes to 11,000 new inhabitants and 22,000 new labourers.
Economic Development Strategy for the City
The City of Sydney s 10 year Economic Development Strategy will help convey a realistic vision for a
significantly more dynamic, earth feasible economy, and a liveable city that works for inhabitants,
labourers, guests and understudies. Activity arrangements will bolster our current monetary qualities,
for example, the fund, tourism and retail areas; and develop new, rising parts, for example, the evening
time economy and green economy divisions. We are as of now putting $1.9 billion in a 10 year
framework project including Light Rail and the change of George Street; diminishing administrative
obstructions to energise business; and reactivating places,

Essay about Macroeconomics
You may have already studied microeconomics, which looks at supply, demand and prices for
individual goods. Macroeconomics looks at the bigger picture and involves the study of the economy
as a whole.
National income
Let us start by looking at a simple example a
two sector economy made up of households
(consumers) and firms (producers) and use this to develop the idea of national income. To start with
we will ignore the impact of government policy and overseas sectors.
Households ultimately own the factors of production, e.g., labour, materials and capital, and supply
these factors to firms who use them to produce goods and services. In return households earn rewards
for supplying the firms with the factors of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This model will use the following definitions: Consumption (C) consumption goods produced and
sold to customers i.e., the chairs.
Savings (S) income that is not spent on consumption. Investment (I) production of, or expenditure on,
non consumption goods (carried out by firms) including expenditure on increasing stocks of
consumption goods.
Injections expenditure on domestic output not originating from consumers e.g., investment.
Leakages income not spent on consumption of domestic output e.g., savings.
Consumers will not spend all their income on goods and services. They will also have savings income
not spent on consumption. Similarly producers will not just spend on producing goods but will also
carry out investment expenditure on non consumption goods.
There are therefore injections into (investment) and leakages from (savings) the circular flow.
These injections and leakages can now be added to the circular flow model (see Figure 2)
Figure 2
Notes to Figure 2
In this model the income earned by households (Y) must be equal to expenditure on purchasing
national product (E). Output of consumption goods by firms equals consumption expenditure by
household s (C). Note that households do not spend all their income instead they save (S) a leakage.
Expenditure on non consumption goods by firms is investment (I) an injection.
Income (Y) = Expenditure (E)

Pirates Of The Music Industry Research Paper
Pirates of the Music Industry
The way consumers have shaped recorded music has always had an impact on the record industry. In
the history of recorded music, we have witnessed a great deal of technological change. Although
opinions may vary, we can reasonably assume that the way we consume music has consistently
increased and evolved since the invention of the first phonograph. While previous generations focused
on format and standards, in the early 21st century we saw a great upset in not how we consume music,
but how we gained access to new music digitally. As a technological greedy society we began to
witness the rise of music piracy in the record industry. Piracy is the use of another person s idea,
product or invention without their permission, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Music piracy was sweeping the world, the record industry was taking an exuberant revenue decrease.
Consumers who would purchase an album in a retail store at market value were now able to obtain
their music for no price at all. Music pirates were able to download their favorite songs to digital
devices such as MP3 players and Steve Job s creation of the iPod. Between 1999 and 2008, annual
U.S. revenue from physical recorded music products had fallen from $12.8 billion back to $5.5 billion
(Woldfogel). This decrease would begin to cause concern for sales and creation of new music. Record
labels began to push for stronger copyright laws, the weak copyright laws were causing major
consequences in the recording industry with every investment made in new artists and brands. The
first attempt to prosecute someone who released copyrighted material on the Internet, in 1994
collapsed embarrassingly when the judge threw out the charges existing case law said that
infringement had to be associated with financial gain, and the material had been given away. The No
Electronic Theft Act, passed in 1997, closed this loophole. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act,
passed in 1998, further strengthened the industry s hand it banned attempts to circumvent copy
protection (Mann). With obtaining stronger copyright laws, the record industry would be able to
efficiently protect each artist as they produced and released new albums on the music

Scottish Genealogy Research
One of the more underused, and perhaps misunderstood, resources for Scottish genealogy research is
the National Library of Scotland. This amazing library has a wealth of genealogical information in
formats you may have never even considered.
The NLS is a national deposit library, it is not a lending library. The library has many records which
were in private collections, including estate papers, family histories, papers and records from a variety
of industries and manufacturers, newspapers for the whole of Scotland, official government records
(Commission reports, etc.) to name just a few. Let s have a look at what the NLS has on offer:

Menstruation History
During menstruation throughout history, the progression of menstrual products has subjugated women
to unimaginable methods. In ancient Egypt, women used softened papyrus tampons, while the Greeks
utilized lint wrapped around small pieces of wood, and the Romans wore pads and tampons made of
soft wool. Considered impure in the Jewish culture during biblical times, the proclivity of physically
separating women from men during menstruation is habitual, as well as any object they touched or sat
on. These fads were perpetuated in Europe in the 1800s. With a more natural approach, women during
this period allowed their menstruation to bleed into their clothing. Creatively, women used homemade
pads in America, during the 1900s, similar to baby diapers: Others wore menstrual pad belts secured
by suspenders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three major organic companies that sell natural menstrual products are GladRags, Natracare, and
Organic Essentials. On the go, these small companies offer disposable cotton pads and organic
tampons. While others may consider as taboo, reusable alternatives are made of Cloth, sponge or
menstrual cup; safer for the environment and the consumer. Many of these non commercialized
menstrual products do not contain dioxin or pesticides, unfortunately, they vary in price as well as
accessibility, from limited marketing and awareness. Ruminating the options by consumers, cultural
and economic factors play a role. For over a decade, commercialized products have conveniently been
available through the media and advertising. Even more important to note, natural feminine hygiene
products are available and considered a safer approach to menstruation. Preserving the health of the
female anatomy should be considered, for the benefit of future

Corruption In Central America
Corruption is a dishonest behavior by people in power. It s a problem that a lot of countries face and
that the citizens don t take into account. It has become such a big problem around the world that
people don t fight against it; they just learn how to live with it. Personally, I didn t care much about
corruption because I felt I couldn t do anything to fight against it. But in 2015 my views about
corruption changed, I now believe that the only ones able to fight against corruption are the citizens.
My home, Guatemala got into a corruption scandal and it s currently fighting to win this fight.
Guatemala is a small country in Central America, which is often underestimated for its high rate of
violence and poverty. People tend to overlook the good in it, they don t talk about its breathtaking

In April 2015, the citizens got the news about their President Perez Molina and Vice President Baldetti
being involved with a crime called La Linea that is described as a sophisticated smuggling network in
the country s customs. It was a network that operated in the country s costume offering the importers a
lower tax rate for the products they wanted to import; La Linea was a telephone number where the
importers had to call to get their priced lowered. When the citizens heard the news they decided to act
and protect their country, they created a revolution. The young drove the revolution; they created
events in social networks asking the rest of the citizens to join them in peaceful protests demanding
for justice. The organizers were afraid no one was going to show up because the citizens were afraid
the protest would become violent. After the first few protests passed peacefully, the fear disappeared

Tobias Wolff Character Analysis
Tobias Wolff is a figure meaningful of an age when the journal has to a great extent supplanted the
novel as a wellspring of riveting account and good reverberation.
Wolff, all things considered, has (up until this point) crushed not one but rather two journals out of the
tale of his life.
Additionally, his senior sibling, the writer Geoffrey Wolff, is the writer of another extraordinary
family diary, The Duke of Deception, distributed in 1979.
It is said that the mother of both Tobias and Geoffrey, subsequent to pursuing her children s journals,
remarked, with the blend of pride, fear, and help that such private presentation can motivate: Well, I
figure that is it. Those are the main young men I have cleared out.
The lives of Geoffrey and Tobias Wolff are very noteworthy.
They spent their young people, generally, at various closures of the United States, Tobias trekking
west with his lenient yet flexible mother, Geoffrey remaining east with their dad, an adorable liar and
cheat.
(Geoffrey shows up as the far off abstract sibling carrying on with the understudy life at Princeton in
Wolff s first journal, This Boy s Life.)
The Wolff siblings are presently said to be very close.
Incredibly they both found splendid material inside their individual family structures however were all
things considered outsiders as their abstract sensibilities were framing.
One significant contrast between the siblings is Tobias attack into the wildernesses of Vietnam in the
vicinity

Social Issues In Pride And Prejudice
Jane Austen s well known novel, Pride and Prejudice, discussed multiple social themes in the 19th
century. Austen mainly criticized marriage during her era, when she says that, it is a truth universally
acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife (Austen 3).
As she explains that it was valuable to women since it provided them with security and a social title.
The author explored the diverse motives behind matrimony in her time period by using a humorous
and romantic plot to discuss the social issues. For instance, Charlotte Lucas s unreasonable marriage
to Mr. Collins is a vital example of how women needed to secure a future and attain social status. To
conclude, Lydia Bennet s meaningless marriage to George Wickham shows that entering the marriage
estate could have also been for mainly financial purposes. Contrastingly, Jane Bennet, the heroine s
older sister, marries Charles Bingley for love, security, and a social ranking. On the other hand,
Elizabeth Bennet marries Fitzwilliam Darcy after months of misunderstandings and romantic drama
for none other than true love. Thus, Austen uses her leading characters marriages in Pride and
Prejudice to exhibit the various attitudes and reasons for marrying in the 19th century. (Lane 2015) As
Charlotte Lucas nears her thirties, she begins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

some obstacles before they finally got married. The couple was driven away from each other when
Bingley went to London for so long, but still they managed to keep their relationship

Hunter Thompson Essay
Of the two articles we were given to read this week from the day after September 11th, 2001, I
preferred the article from the New York Times. Though the article for ESPN by Hunter Thompson
(2001) was more engaging, I could not get past statements like, We are going to punish somebody for
this attack, but just who or what will be blown to smithereens for it is hard to say (para. 9). Even
though I am certainly in support of punishing those who are responsible for attacks like the ones upon
the world trade centers, but the vitriol with which Thompson describes blowing them to smithereens
made my stomach turn. As a result, I cannot say that I liked Thompson s article. I can say that
Thompson s article did a better job of keeping my attention. A large portion of the New York Times
reporting from Litsky and Williams (2001) was a listing of cancelled events which, while informative,

Human beings have passed on knowledge throughout the ages in stories. There is a reason that more
people have probably read the Illiad than straight histories of the Trojan war; we like to have a story to
think about as opposed to a fact sheet to memorize. If you can incorporate thought or fun along with
facts, it can make the learning process easier. This is something we see and tend to acknowledge more
in children though it is truthful for adults as well. Daniel Willingham (2004), a cognitive scientist,
points out that research has shown [p]eople find material presented in a story format more engaging
than if it is presented in expository text no matter what the topic (para. 5). Reporting in a narrative
keeps the reader interested and this results in better retention of information we were exposed to. More
than likely, each of us could state more of the facts that Thompson pointed out in his story than list
cancelled events reported by Litsky and

Comparing The Three Worlds In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream seems, to me, to combine three worlds. A romantic world
of lovers, the workday world, and the fairy world. And while all three worlds tangle and intertwine
together during the play, it is the fairy world that has the most impact. The lovers are changed by their
meeting with the children of Pan. For the people who constructed this play and brought these worlds
to life in the plays in theatres, the first questions that I would ask are: what do the fairies look like, and
how is their world different from ours? Our world has grown very technological, and separated itself
from nature. I am sure artists answers to those two questions have changed drastically between then
and now. Back then, people were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

plays were usually in a white room with ropes and trapezes dangling from the ceilings. The fairies
were no longer played by sylphlike dancers. Young men started taking their places. They dangled

9.0 TOWS MATRIX The TOWS (threats, opportunities, weakness, strength) matrix is a two cell by

  • 2. My Personal History With Communication Technology As I look back at my personal history with communication technology I remember using many forms of social media to communicate with my friends and family. Back in the day when I was in junior high I remember using MySpace, Skype, and phone calls. Today on the other hand I mainly use Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. There are many reasons why I use these sites but I use some sites more frequently than others it just depends on the person I want to communicate with. My social media usage varies on the purpose I want to use it for or with whom I want to communicate with. The reason I used MySpace in the past was to be cool like the rest of my friends that were using it during that time. Before I had my own cell phone I was able to have my own MySpace account. The reason I would use MySpace is because everyone at school would use it, so I wanted to fit in with the rest of my friends. I used MySpace to talk friends that had added me or friends of friends that I knew about but had never met in person. I would use it to communicate with them rather than calling them on the phone. MySpace was the site where I could portray myself in any way I wanted. I had the choice of what pictures people could see of me, which music I liked, and other personal things that I could choose to display. MySpace was a way for me to have some kind of social interactions with people I did not necessarily know, love, or have an attraction to. MySpace was just a way to keep myself connected with society ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Review Of Michael Ignatieff s A Sense Of Belonging A Sense of Belonging Arises Based on 2004 Question 3 Michael Ignatieff, a Practice of Human Rights Professor, observed a key characteristic in how humans relate and bond with one another: intuition shared within groups that helps set rules and regulations, ultimately setting them apart. His observation calls into question the connection between these unspoken rules, and the sense of belonging felt by group members. With his observations in mind, it is natural to assume that unspoken rules and belonging coincide because they define a group by giving them an image and general understanding of each other. Often it is found that having common interests affects the people within, as well as the image of, a certain group. When people think back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consider sitting in your high school with multiple different groups of people around. You hear numerous conversations coming from every direction and laughter filling the halls, but you are left standing in the hallway alone, feeling outcast, because you have no connection with those people. Having desolate feelings comes in response to this situation, and overall, it takes away from that sense of belonging. The unspoken rules present in these groups are responsible for the loss of belonging. People that do not fit the requirements within the rules often find themselves feeling as though they are outcasts in society. Individually, they will perceive themselves to be outsiders without a belonging in the social order because their traits do not match the desired ones in society. Additionally, the people in each specific group will begin to exclude the said outcasts because they do not belong in the clique. As a result, social events and conversations become more exclusive to those who fit the unspoken rules. This unfortunately can lead to bullying, for the exclusive people will make the outsiders feel unwelcomed and criticized. One who does not fit in with others will find themselves feeling insecure about their life and role in the community. Therefore, the unspoken rules of society affect each individual s sense of belonging in both a positive and negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Abraham Lincoln Freedman Have you ever heard of Abraham Lincoln? Most Americans have, because he was one of the most loved, and most hated presidents we ever had. He didn t start that way though. He was born in Kentucky, in a one room, one window, hard packed dirt floor log cabin. He worked hard and was ambitious, and over time he became one of the most well known presidents of the United States. According to Russell Freedman, Lincoln was very ambitious and eager to prove himself. In Lincoln: a Photobiography Russell Freedman claims that Lincoln was ambitious. Lincoln s family was poor, so he tried to help them earn money. Then, when he was 17 years old, he got hired by a rich old man to row his son down the river, On a twelve hundred mile flat boat voyage to New Orleans. Lincoln earned 24 dollars for the three month voyage, which was a lot of money at the time. He must have been brave, because he didn t know the man he was traveling with, and he didn t know how long it would take. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On page 19 of Lincoln: Photo biography, it says, He joined the New Salem debate society, which met once a week. Through the society, he got to meet many people and became more eager to have his ideas shared. One of his fellow debaters, Mentor Graham, who was a schoolmaster, taught him English and grammar. Turning him from a boy who had a country accent to a man who could grab your thoughts and turn them toward what he thought. This also opened him to the idea of being a lawyer. Lincoln was ambitious according to Russell Freedman. Lincoln became a lawyer in 1830, then he joined Congress 17 years later in 1847. He was quickly rising out of the poor shop keeper business into the political business. This reminds me of President Trump, a businessman with no political background who just became president of the United States. And not many people are happy with his ideas, but, like Lincoln, he may turn out to be great just the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Why Security Personnel Should Act Abstract For traditional computer vision methods the analysis of motion and behaviors in crowded scenes constitutes a challenging task, as barriers like occlusions, varying crowd densities and complex stochastic nature of their motions are difficult to overcome. As it has to be kept within reasonable limits, the one more complicating factor is the computational cost. It is very crucial to analyze crowded scenes in real time, or at least fast as possible, in many practical situations, considering the fact that security personnel should act quickly if something seems to be unusual . Anomalous is a problem which is not fitting into a familiar type, classification or pattern. HOS (Histogram of Oriented Swarm) is used for detecting and localizing anomalous events in videos of crowded scenes. HOS together with the HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradient) are combined to give a descriptor that helps to effectively characterize each scene. The occurrences of gradient orientation in localized portion of images can be count by this technique. The HOS descriptor analyses and localizes the anomalous and normal events separately. Key word Anomalous Event,Gradient, HOS, HOG, 1. Introduction The use of surveillance systems in roads, stations, malls, traffic or airports has led to a huge amount of data that needs to be analyzed for safety, retrieval or even commercial reasons. The task of automatically detecting frames with anomalous events from long duration video sequences has concerned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Dimenon Of The Parthenon The Parthenon The Parthenon in Athens, Greece, is a giant, architectural temple dedicated to the goddess, Athena. Likewise, the Parthenon in modern Nashville, Tennessee, is an honorary replica of the ancient monument. Many historians say it is an exact replica. Without a doubt, it is the closest most people will ever come to experiencing the greatest temple of ancient Greece. A visit to the Parthenon in Athens would have been an immense pleasure; however, the replica in Nashville is adequately breathtaking. The enormous columns, the carvings along the top, the giant statue within, and the larger than life bronze doors make this monument something to remember. The Parthenon and its sculptures continue to live on through the replica in Nashville, Tennessee. The Parthenon is easily mentioned as one of the oldest monuments in the world. Originally, the Parthenon was completed in 438 B.C. It is strategically placed atop the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The Acropolis simply means high city in ancient Greece (Cole, 39). It is higher in elevation than all the other land below it, and where Greece s most sacred temples were built. Also, it was built in such a way that when viewed from afar, you can see the entire building. The purpose of the enormous building was to be a temple dedicated to the goddess, Athena. According to Karl Cole, the Acropolis in Athens was the battleground of a fight between Athena and Poseidon, with reward being assuming the role of the protector of Athens ... • 7. Teaching Argument Evaluation in An Introductory... Teaching Argument Evaluation in An Introductory Philosophy Course ABSTRACT: One of the greatest challenges in teaching an introductory philosophy course is convincing students that there are, indeed, reliable standards for the evaluation of arguments. Too often introductory students criticize an argument simply by contesting the truth of one of its claims. And far too often, the only claim in an argument that meets serious objections is its conclusion. For many students, the idea that an argument displays a structure which can be evaluated on its own terms is not very difficult to grasp. Unfortunately, the idea is grasped only in an abstract way, with insufficient appreciation of how structural problems manifest themselves in concrete ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The introductory philosophy student s inability to recognize argument structure presents us with a problem that cannot be addressed simply by teaching logic. The problem that confronts us addresses a fundamental pedagogical concern: Our task is to instill in the student the habit of clear thinking. When we send our students out into the world, we have to make sure that they re prepared for it. This is not simply a matter of providing them with tools. We ve looked at logic that way and we ve approached teaching logic that way for far too long. Certainly logic may be employed as a tool; it can serve as an incredibly powerful tool, as we who teach it know full well. But it s not logic per se that we should be concerned with in our introductory courses. We want to teach our students how to think clearly and responsibly. There is certainly a moral edge to this view of the situation, and the manner in which we approach our pedagogical concern will not be without further philosophical prejudice. Ours is Aristotelian. We have found that giving our students the basics of term logic serves our purpose well. We do not introduce it as a tool for argument analysis a strong case can easily be made for the superiority of truth functional logic in that respect we present it, rather, in the way that a kindergarten teacher brings toys into the classroom. And we make it clear that term logic has limitations it s not an all purpose tool. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The St Columba Altarpiece By Rogier Van Der Weyden The St Columba Altarpiece (Columbia Triptych, c.1460), a three panel altarpiece by a well renowned artist Rogier van der Weyden s, is considered a powerful piece of art and has inspired many artists. Created approximately around 1460, it tells a narrative of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. The Adoration of the Magi is the middle panel and perhaps the most famous piece among the three. It portrays the visit of the Kings to the newborn Jesus. Since it is an altarpiece, and portrays religious events, there is enough evidence to believe that the painting was commissioned by a church in St Columba, hence its name. The painting was created using oil paint on a wooden surface. Unlike several artworks of the northern renaissance, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is standing on the right side of the Virgin Mary and observing the situation. His facial expression looks a bit upsetting. There is a small table on his left where they placed one of the presents brought by the Magi. The Virgin Mary is sitting at the center with Jesus in her arms. She is wearing a vivid blue gown with white fabric underneath. There is a ray of light surrounding her head and she is watching the baby with tenderness. The Virgin Mary s blue figure is contrasted by the vivid reds surrounding her on the Magi, on Joseph s garments, the priest s and more thus accentuating the focal point of the painting on her. The newborn infant on the other hand is half covered with a white cloth that symbolizes purity and innocence. Meanwhile on the ground, the older Magus, dressed in expensive clothing and jewelry made of gold is kneeling in front of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. He had removed his hat the giant red hat laying on the ground across from him as a sign of respect. He is carefully holding the small feet of the newborn Savior and admiring him. His second companion is right behind him making his way to the baby while carrying a golden chalice as a present. He is wearing fine embroidered expensive textile and a red cloak. • 9. Examination of the Relationships Between Birth Weight and... Purpose of Study The primary goal of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the full birth weight distribution and prevalence of specific developmental disabilities and related measures of health and the use of special education services by US children. The researchers in this study collected and used data from the 1997 2005 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) for this research analysis. The NHIS is conducted annually and is a multistage probability sample survey of the US civilian, non institutionalized population. Basic demographic and health information was collected during an in person interview. The Sample Child Core questionnaire obtained information on the health of one randomly selected child is provided by a knowledgeable adult (usually a parent or other legal guardian). The data that is collected from this questionnaire represented the primary source for the researchers analysis. The researchers used a sample of 87,578 children. More than 50% of children were white and were from families with a household income above the federal poverty level and maternal education beyond high school. Compared with children with birth weights of 3,500 3,999g, children in all birth weight categories less than 3,000g were more likely to have one or more developmental disabilities (3.4% 1.2% vs 1.1%). Children in all birth weight categories less than 2,500g were more likely to have three or more DDs (2.6% 6.5% vs 1.2%). In evaluating specific ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Liberalism And Ligalitarianism Politics is often discussed on the basis or right and wrong, left and right, and is riddled with false dichotomies, when it really is a much more vivid and complex spectrum than that. There are many different systems of governments and competing ideologies, that are further then divided in their leanings and priorities. Of the first ideologies, Liberalism, is also subcategorized into different interpretations based on how much of liberty is attainable and a governmental presence there should be. It is divided into Classical Liberalism, Social Darwinism, Egalitarian Liberalism, Libertarianism, and Libertarian Anarchism. The reason there is much contention within Liberalism as an ideology on its own, is because all of these factions idealize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the one hand, with the emergence of the nation state and theories of sovereignty in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, ideas of a distinctly public realm began to crystallize. On the other hand, in reaction to the claims of monarchs and, later, parliaments to the unrestrained power to make law, there developed a countervailing effort to stake out distinctively private spheres free from the encroaching power of the state. Natural rights theories were elaborated in the seventeenth century for the purpose of setting limits on state power, both over property and religious conscience(3). Many philosophers such as Locke, Miller, and Paine, and Kant argue for these rights due to the fact that there was a great social awakening and a growing urge to question the legitimacy of leadership. On these basis stood the foundation of classical liberalism. Classical Liberalism prioritizes above all things complete and total individual liberty. Believers in Classical Liberalism assert that it must be served in completeness because any lack of it creates citizens that are willingly dependent on the government. It is imperative to understand that Classical Liberalism does not call for complete anarchy or even no government at all like Libertarian Anarchists do, but rather a small government. Thomas Paine describes this idea as Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Suez Research Paper Suez Scenario Introduction: The physical and geopolitical obstacles involved in building a canal in a foreign nation are numerous and complex; however, a canal presents an excellent economic opportunity for imperialist nations. For this reason, a French canal was a political, economic, and imperialist idea that had historical roots back to the reign Louis XIV (Negrelli). Later Napoleon had a vision, reminiscent of Louis XIV, to overcome nature through French imperialist efforts, including a massive investment of both monetary and human capital to connect trade destinations. The isthmus between the Red and Mediterranean seas, the Isthmus of Suez was viewed as a opportune chunk of land to excavate for the purpose of a canal to cut the travel ... The French occupation throughout Muhammed Said life, led to Ferdinand De Lesseps description of the viceroy: The Prince was brought up in French ideas with an impetuous head and great sincerity of character (9, De Lesseps). Thus, the presence of the French in Egypt implicitly conditioned Muhammad Said to have French sympathies, which left the door open for continued amiable relations along with potential progress in the Suez Canal project. Within the year that Muhammad Said came into power, 1854, Ferdinand De Lesseps returned to Egypt in order to strategically rekindle his youthful friendship Muhammad Said along with his past French diplomatic efforts in Egypt. The relationship fostered between Ferdinand De Lesseps and Muhammed Said may have been the most influential factor in the successful creation of the Suez Canal. Ferdinand De Lesseps was a very talented and tactical diplomat for France: Ferdinand De Lesseps was a potent combination of vision pragmatism, and will (7, Karabell). • 14. Fashion Industry on Women´s Body Image The fashion industry plays a huge role in portraying bad images of ideal beauty, which in turn affects today s society perception of their own body image. Not only are women affected by what is seen and heard about how the perfect body should appear, children of young ages are now feeling insecure and obsessed with their bodies before they reach teenage years. This ideal image the fashion industry continues to enforce only focuses on very thin models who seem to be in shape and are very healthy. Furthermore, many people think of the influence from the fashion industry as being human representations (models). Because of the rising problem with the image of beauty within the fashion industry, it is shown that even mannequins and non human representations (mannequins, dolls, photoshopping) of bodies play a significant role in women s body image; which causes problems to the individual. (Anshutz Engels, 2010). Body image and self satisfaction, eating disorders and non human representations all can cause harm to the individual, if prolonged. Women and girls on average struggle with their self esteem and their overall body image throughout their lives. It especially comes into effect with the constant portrayal of overly skinny mannequins or non human representations in popular, stores, on the web, and on television (Clifford, 2011). In today s society the average woman is bigger and mannequins are becoming smaller. It is difficult for the average woman to match their ideal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Character Analysis Of The Wonder Woman In The Wonder Woman Anglo saxon literature is one of the many building blocks of what is called literature today. Over a thousand years ago during the anglo saxon times, people would commonly write novels or poems that revolved around heroes and other ubiquitous subjects such as monsters. In the film wonder woman directed by Patty Jenkins heroic ideals are represented through the main character Diana Prince. The daughter of Queen Hippolyta is characterized with the typical heroic ideal: strong, selfless, and loyal. Throughout the film, the audience are presented with all kinds of characterization that is credible by anglo saxon roots. In modern day, our works of literature, films, and poems consist of similar ideals that the anglo saxons possessed; however, we also have shifted from some of the things that were portrayed in their works. Our contemporary ideals also consist of other ideals such as feminism, love, and intellectual power. Diana first appears in the film as a young girl who roamed around the paradise of themyscira. Inspired by her mother and aunt, she would stand above the towering hills and image their fighting techniques. Desperate, to be just like them Diana insisted to learn the ways of a warrior. Her mother, hippolyta, began to be concerned of Diana s demands and does not want her only daughter to be gain mighty strength. Furthermore, cigar makers worked long hours under the hot sun for low wages even though the cigar industry was doing better than most. However, they still pooled their money together to pay for readers. These cigar makers were often foreigners who were illiterate or spoke a different language. BSE originated from scrapie or Endemic Spongiform Encephalopathy, which is a disease that has affected mostly sheep and goats. BSE is an illness that attacks the brain and spinal cord of adult cattle due to an infection by a transmissible agent known as a prion. Once affected by BSE cattle began to develop strange behavior such as aggression, lack of coordination with the inability to stand or walk, and abnormal posture; hence the name Mad Cow Disease (1). Can BSE be Eradicated A Tough Road Ahead BSE is an extremely rare disease making it a very tough candidate for eradication. This is especially true in humans; while still rare, BSE is much more common in cattle rather than humans. It is also very tough to conduct studies with the rapid progression of the disease and the short lifespan of those infected. Because the cattle commonly infected are vastly spread out between multiple countries, this adds yet another obstacle to overcome when attempting to eradicate BSE in cattle and in return eradicating vCJD in humans. Even with the obvious and difficult complications facing the extermination of this disease the government and scientists have outlined a few ways to slow down the progression and transmittal of BSE (5). What Can Be Done Steps to Eradication Despite the incredibly hard process ahead to eradicate BSE and vCJD here are the steps that have already been put into place to begin the procedure. In July of 1988 a feed ban was introduced as the key animal health control measure. Macroeconomics looks at the bigger picture and involves the study of the economy as a whole. To start with we will ignore the impact of government policy and overseas sectors. • 30. Social Issues In Pride And Prejudice Jane Austen s well known novel, Pride and Prejudice, discussed multiple social themes in the 19th century. Austen mainly criticized marriage during her era, when she says that, it is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife (Austen 3). As she explains that it was valuable to women since it provided them with security and a social title. The author explored the diverse motives behind matrimony in her time period by using a humorous and romantic plot to discuss the social issues. For instance, Charlotte Lucas s unreasonable marriage to Mr. Collins is a vital example of how women needed to secure a future and attain social status. To conclude, Lydia Bennet s meaningless marriage to George Wickham shows that entering the marriage estate could have also been for mainly financial purposes. Contrastingly, Jane Bennet, the heroine s older sister, marries Charles Bingley for love, security, and a social ranking. On the other hand, Elizabeth Bennet marries Fitzwilliam Darcy after months of misunderstandings and romantic drama for none other than true love.
