Luhrmann The Great Gatsby
It s the newness that Luhrmann seems to bring to his movies, most notably Moulin Rouge and
Romeo + Juliet, that grabs the attention most immediately. In calibrating our expectations for
Gatsby, it s interesting to look at the last classic work he adapted, the 1996 Leo DiCaprio/Claire
Danes feature based on the Shakespearean play. A lot of adaptations of Shakespeare s work try to
do what Luhrmann does, reimagining the story in a contemporary setting, and they re met with
varying degrees of success. Even stranger is Luhrmann s word for word retention of the
Shakespearean dialogue, resulting in a bizarre juxtaposition of old language and new technology
and surroundings. This is also kind of the perfect story for Luhrmann s attitude. There s

Austranese And Japanese Cultural Differences
This essay aims to provide more information in regards to the differences between the Australian
and Japanese cultures, as well as fundamental insights into Japanese business etiquette and highlight
important steps for effective communication when making business in a foreign country. As the
Australian entrepreneur and owner of The Aromatic Condiment Shop Emily is looking to expand
her business deals in Japan it is paramount to make a favourable first impression and understand key
points to better navigate cultural differences and grow her business.
Cultural differences according to Adler involves the integrated and maintained system of socially
acquired values, beliefs, and rules of conduct which impact the range of accepted behaviors
distinguishable from one societal group to another . (Adler, N. J. (1997). International dimensions
of organizational behavior (3rd ed.). Cincinnati, OH: Shout Western College Publishing)
Cross cultural communication involves an understanding of how people from different cultures
speak, communicate, and perceive the world around them. This type of communication has become
fundamental to companies as well as entrepreneurs looking to grow their business, in addition to
being fundamental as the workplace has become more diverse. In this line is important to highligh
the concept of high and low context culture.
According to Edward T. Hall: A high context (HC) communication or message is one in which most
of the information is either in the

The Life And Work Of Martin Luther
Martin Luther experienced true faith and a true mystical experience for the first time when he got
stuck in a thunderstorm. Fearing for his life he begged St. Anne that if she took care of him he
would become a monk. Luther s journey began towards the life of God. The path he took, led him
through moments of realization and confusion. Martin Luther questioned the church and re
evaluated baptism; yet, he re enforced the importance of the Eucharist, kept his faith in God and
believed every child of Christ had the right to know the Lord s word.
Sacraments are about becoming closer to God, to commit to a life of God and to reach God s
grace. According to Rev. David D.Reedy author of The Life and Work of Martin Luther Martin
began a revolution as he taught and wrote about his dissatisfactions with the church. He began to
change the way people understood and the sacraments because he began to go back to the roots of
each sacrament.
When I began my path towards God through my own choice and not just part of what I was
nurtured through, I began to realize a few things I didn t agree with. Martin Luther began to ask
questions to learn and explore, but he was encountered with an unexpected twist. When making
his way to become a minister David Reedy explains, He came away more disillusioned, and very
discouraged by the immorality and corruption he witnessed there among the Catholic priests. His
main ideal was that we must dig back into the real power of faith. Luther believes

Loris Malaguzzi was Born in Corregio, Italy in 1920. He lived in a city called Reggioi Emmilia
in Italy, which is recognized worldwide for its approach to education. After years past he then
developed preschool and primary education in Italy after World War2. In 1976, the parents and the
community confirmed their support for the guiding principles of the Reggio Approach to early
childhood education. After his unexpected death, the community of Reggio Emilia carried on,
implemented his dreams, and fulfilled the Reggio mission, which enhanced the potential of all

In the late 1960 s the schools were transferred to the city government for financing and operations.
During the 1980 s Lori s method was known by many educators and especially thanks to the first
exhibit that was opened in Sweden at the Modern Museet in Stockholm. In 2003 the municipality of
Reggio Emilia chose to manage the network and the system of school services and toddler centers
by forming an association. By forming an association, the municipal schools and preschools could
have their own independent programs and activities, they were still supported by the public sector
of the government though.
February 2006, the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre had opened, which was very successful
and very important to the people that helped open the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre. I
believe that Malaguzzi has a different and unique way to think because of the fact that he thought
that children were powerful and full of desire and ability to construct their own knowledge. I also
think that way because if we weren t powerful and able to construct our own knowledge then how
would we have progressed through life and be where we are now. For example Malaguzzi must
have been real powerful in order for him to have had that knowledge and ability to open a new
international Centre and schools throughout the world! He also thought that family and friends are

Car Lockout Statistics
In our age of enhanced security, a locksmith is a very valuable person. Few people can say they
haven t used the services of one at some point or another. Our homes, workplaces and even cars
are the safer for their expertise. Perhaps we remember a locksmith most in an emergency. Say for
instance you ve locked yourself out of your home and left the keys inside. In such a situation you
would need the services of an emergency locksmith to come, quite literally, with the key to your
problem.
Car Lockout
A similar situation might occur with an automobile. Many people with auto lock systems in their
cars leave the car keys inside and are unable to enter their cars. A car locksmith is the answer to
this kind of problem. Such a professional is equipped

How The Gap Between Healthcare And Technology And Help The...
ABSTRACT
Healthcare sector is facing plethora of challenges ranging from poor infrastructure to population
explosions, large masses of population shifting from rural to urban area etc. Traditional facilities
makes user confined thus restricts user movement especially elderly people. Our goal is to increase
medical efficiency and reduce burden on healthcare infrastructure. We intend to create a prototype
of a self sufficient health monitoring system which requires low investment for development and
provide quality healthcare at the same time. For proposed system, Arduino Mega 2560 processor is
used along with various sensors and data transmission system. Sensors used are accelerometer, body
temperature, heart rate and Electrocardiogram which gives basic patient monitoring data. Attached
LCD displays various health related parameters. Interactive mobile app is developed on android
platform which displays parameters. Received data can be transmitted remotely for further analysis
also help doctors monitor overall health of their patient remotely while transmission system ensures
safety during critical times. Through our project, we want to bridge the gap between healthcare and
technology and help the masses stay fit and healthy.
INTRODUCTION
Current methods of providing medical assistance are based on person physically present in the
hospital and constantly monitor physiological parameters. Lack of number of doctors is the major
problem in most of the hospitals especially in

Demetrius And Helena In A Midsummer Night s Dream By...
In A Midsummer Night s Dream, William Shakespeare heavily expresses the distinct characteristics
of Demetrius and Helena through the direct and indirect characterizations that affect them in the
play.
Demetrius character is best emphasized, directly and indirectly, through the dialogue and actions of
himself and those around him. In Act One, Scene One, after Egeus explains to King Theseus that
he wants his daughter, Hermia, to marry Demetrius instead of Lysander, Demetrius demands that
Lysander relinquish his love and control over Hermia because marrying her is his certain right .
After the demand, King Theseus is reminded that Demetrius made love to...Helena and won her soul
and that Helena still devoutly dotes over him. In this scene, ... Show more content on

Helena is first introduced storming past Hermia and Lysander, being quick to accuse Hermia of
stealing Demetrius love from her. Helena s lengthy response, use of exclamations, sarcastic and
whiney tone, and admitted jealousy, portray her perfectly. In fact, the audience better comes to
understand the character in her following monologue containing phrases such as: ...how happy
some o er other some can be! Through Athens I am thought to be as fair as she ; ...he hailed
down oaths that he was only mine... heat from Hermia...dissolved, and showers of oaths did
melt ; I will go tell him of fair Hermia s flight...if I have thanks, it is a dear expense. This shows
that Helena isn t just a jealous friend, but a hurt girl with low self esteem; she is desperate to
have love and happiness again to extent of giving Demetrius what he wants at the expense of
her friends wellbeing. Despite the late hours, dangers of the night, and Demetrius annoyance
with her, Hermia expresses her desperation and relentless love for him by proclaiming ...you
[Demetrius] draw me, you hard hearted adamant , I love you the more , and ... spurn me, strike
me...only give me leave... to follow you . Humorously enough, even when Demetrius does not
grant Helena permission, she still devotedly follows him. Due to the constant flow of insults and
abuses from Demetrius, Helena s character is pushed to the point where she wallows in self pity
and despair as well as further compare her darker, less attractive complexion to Hermia s. When
Lysander awakens under a love spell and professes his undying love for her, she runs away in
distress believing he is implementing a cruel joke on her. When Demetrius follows in the same
love struck manner, she becomes exasperated and falls further into her self pity. Helena s tone even
become satirical towards the two men and Hermia which not only offends

Questions On Religion And Religion Essay
1. Orthodoxy is placing the importance on correct belief rather than correct practice. An example
of this would be Christianity where to be a disciple there are certain beliefs that aren t optional.
These beliefs include the Trinity, Jesus as the Son of God, and the Resurrection.
2. Orthopraxy is placing the importance on correct practice rather than correct belief. An example
of this would be Judaism where the acts you do hold great value. These practices include Shabbat
and keeping the Sabbath. The practice of keeping kosher is stricter within Orthodox Judaism than
within Conservative or Reform Judaism but all three fall under orthopraxy.
3. Polytheism is the belief in more than one god whereas monotheism is the belief in only one god.
There are many examples of polytheistic religions such as Druids (ГЂr nDraГocht FГ©in or the
Order of Bards, Ovates, Druids) which cover multiple pantheons depending on which culture you
focus on. Druidry mainly covers the Celtic or Norse pantheons but can cover the Egyptian, Roman,
or Greek pantheons as well as encompassing Native American gods.
4. The two types of agnostic are weak and strong agnosticism. While one is unsure of whether or
not there s a god, the other believes that god is unknowable. Both believe in the possibility of a
god, but they differ on whether or not they believe they can find and know said god.
5. Pluralism is the belief that religions are all manifestations of one universal truth and pluralists

The Princess Bride By William Goldman
For this assignment, I chose to watch The Princess Bride, a film based on the book written by
William Goldman. The story is of a beautiful maiden named Buttercup. When she hears word of
her true love, Westley s, ship being taken over by the Dread Pirate Roberts in which there were no
survivors. Upon Westley s death, Buttercup reluctantly agrees to marry Prince Humperdinck, who
seems to have a plan of his own. When Westley returns as the Dread Pirate Roberts, he finds
Buttercup in grave danger in the hands of Vizzini, the man we later learn was hired by
Humperdinck to kill his bride and frame Florin s sworn enemy, Guilder. After using his sword
fighting skills and strength to outwit Inigo, the Spanish swordsman, and Fizzik, the giant, he then
uses his wit to kill Vizzini, Buttercup s capturer. Once Buttercup is able to identify Pirate Roberts
as Westley, they continue on their journey, only to be thwarted by Prince Humperdinck, Count
Rugen, and their men. Buttercup is then tricked to believe that they let Westley go free, even
though they have him tortured and eventually killed. In need of his skills and strength, Fizzik and
Inigo miraculously save Westley in order to seek revenge on Inigo s father s killer, Count Rugen.
The three of them then break into the castle, Inigo gets his revenge, and save Buttercup, riding off
on four white horses. As in every plot line, there are various conflicts that occur in this film.

Vitamin D is an important micronutrient that is involved in the metabolism of calcium and
phosphorous, and helps establish strong bone health (1). Recent studies have shown promising
results of supplementing vitamin D to pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Despite advances in medicine and health GDM is still prevalent among pregnant women, resulting
in possible complications to pregnancysuch as, fetal distress, preterm delivery, low birth weight,
as well as risk of type 2 diabetes to the mother (1). Research links vitamin D receptor (VDR),

comprehensive population would range into the thousands, but this sample size was a good
starting point for further research. Group one was the control group and received the placebo,
group two received a low dose of 200 IU of Vitamin D daily, group three received a medium dose
of 50,000 IU of vitamin D within a month, and group four received a total of 10,000 IU within a
month (1). Administration of vitamin D supplementation occurred between 24 28 weeks of
pregnancy and continued until delivery, and a follow up examination occurred once a month (1).
The research team also measured the participants dietary intake to ensure they had similar diets to
ensure diets did not interfere with the results (1). Fasting plasma glucose, serum insulin, insulin
resistance, total cholesterol change, and triglyceride levels were all measured with commercial
ELISA kits (1). The oral glucose tolerance test is used as the gold standard for measuring the
efficiency in glucose metabolism (4). This current study chose to do A1c ELISA kits for efficiency
as the oral glucose tolerance test takes several hours to complete (1). Although, A1c is not the gold

Jane Jacob Research Paper
The best that can be said of the conception is that it did afford a chance to experiment with some
physical and social planning theories which did not pan out. This quote reflects Jane Jacob s
philosophical ideas in an attempt to criticize the social housing s design approach and its associated
urban planning in modern era. The physical and social theories outlines the urban planningidea of
social housing (Utopian idea) and according to Jane s statement, such experiment of these theories
were deem to be unsuccessful. It is inevitably certain to some extent that a provocative statement
towards modern era social housing approaches would hold true due to the minimal success the
plans brought to the city, such as solving the working class commendations temporarily.
Nevertheless, it is a failure to deliver long standing social improvements corresponded with the
increasing suspicion of modernism, one cannot simply attribute ill fate to its innovative physical
features (As Jane said, the Utopian and Utopia), but should rather considered a range of other
elements in the larger aspect of society: factors such as difficulty of racial integration, problems of
financing and management, lack of bridging between architecture and planning, as well as the
increasing preference of suburban lifestyle from the rising mid class. These problems reflected
evidently in some stereotypes of social housing communities built in the modern era such as Pruitt

Dating A Nigerian Female In Nigeria
Nigerian females are the same as every other female in the planet, with those very same yearning
as well as desire to be liked and cared for, they ve those very same loose grip on situations daily

as well as swoop them off the feet of theirs into insurmountable riches, and also with of course the
accompanying lived happily ever after.
Allow me to share facts about Nigerian females, a small idea on just what it takes to marry a female
from Nigeria. Are you eying that blackish female working in the exact same office along with
you, are you thinking of dating and actually getting married to a rather Nigerian babe? Do you

Dating a Nigerian female is as easy as dating every other female in the planet, it entails the same

essential to picking females.
Individuals in Nigeria think which the male is actually the mind of the household and we come
across the female as being a helper to the male, every Nigerian female is seeking a responsible
male, a male that s in a position to make choices in dire circumstances. Girls in Nigeria would like
to date and marry a difficult male, not a wimp that believes he might purchase females with cash.

Cognate Strategies Essay
Cognate strategies are ways that writing can help the audience understand what the information is
and how to gain best the information required to understand it best. In this writing assignment, I
will be describing five strategies that are a part of the cognate strategies way of thinking. I will be
using personal examples for each of these to help give a clearexplanation of the information
The first of these is the also the first showcased in the book, Clarity. This strategy is based on a
need to explain clearly what the speech or article is about. This is used to cut through the
Jargons and clichГ©s that often plaque or work lives and explain the information cleanly. Using
Clarity, all involved can understand what is needed to be done without a communication barrier.
My example for this was when I turned my two week notice in for my first job. I wrote down
exactly why I was leaving and ways that the store could improve in some areas to avoid others
leaving.
Conciseness is the next of the strategies and one that I have spent a lot of time using myself. The
main point of being conscious is to have key points when being any speech or writing for business.
This can often be found in the opening of the article or speech to showcase what the key parts of ...

Analysis of The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant Essay

Professor Cooley
November 3, 2009
Analysis of The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant, by W. D.
Wetherell, is an initiation story in which the symbols of fishing and Sheila Mant illustrate how the
character of the narrator transforms from youth and innocence to sophistication and maturity. At
age fourteen, it is typical for a boy such as the narrator to be beginning this transformation. Being
innocent and naГЇve in a sense, the fourteen year old narrator gets an enormous crush on a
seventeen year old girl named Sheila Mant and comes to believe she is what he loves most in life.
For him, Sheila is a symbol of the maturity and sophistication he will eventually become a ... Show

The realization comes later after he has accidentally hooked the biggest fish he has ever hooked.
By reeling in the bass, he would be losing Sheila, but cutting it loose would make him lose the
catch of his life. When the narrator finally knows a decision must be made between the bass and
Sheila, he chooses Sheila believing it is a more mature thing to do. When he pull[s] a penknife . . .
and cut[s] the line, (7) he makes a conscious decision that Sheila Mant is to be more important than
his fishing. When the night is over, and Sheila goes off in a different guy s Corvette, the narrator
comes to the realization that she was not worth giving up the fish. Later in life, after being with
other girls and catching other fish, what haunts [him] still is losing the bass, not Sheila Mant.
Ultimately, the narrator s maturity came from finding out what he actually loved the most and
sticking to that. The symbols of the story, mainly the fishing rod, the bass, and Sheila Mant, are
symbols of the transformation the narrator undergoes. To begin with, when the narrator
automatically . . . mount[s] [his] Mitchell reel . . . and [sticks] it in the stern (2) he shows that he
is unable to consciously separate his love of fishing from his love of other things. By bringing his
rod on a date with Sheila, his maturity is shown as being undeveloped due to his inexperience.
Furthermore, the bass

Captain America Character Traits
Genuine compassion is a difficult trait to find today in a world so full of hatred and violence.
One hero of fiction that we could learn from to combat this negativity, and I especially have, is
Captain America (Steve Rogers) from the Marvel Comics Universe. He is more than just a
character in my favorite movies, he has taught me to be kind, loyal, and courageous and I believe
our world could use the same compassion that he displays. Captain Americas loyalty is one of his
most striking traits. In the second film of the Captain America trilogy, he discovered that his best
friend was the villain he had been hunting the entire movie. Rogers did not turn his back on his
friend, and even refused to fight him periodically throughout the movie. Instead, Rogers helped
rehabilitate his friend back from the brain damage he suffered. In a similar fashion, I have learned
to defend my friends from others, and remain loyal to them. When arguments break out, I look to
understand everyone s side of the story and I never jump to conclusions. Every conflict has a
solution and a source. Rogers has shown me that staying with your friends,... Show more content on

only ten years old, she took it upon herself to nurse her brother back to health after he fell off the

football professionally. In 1920, only two black men played, then nine in 1925, but back down
to two in 1933. To play football professionally, an individual had to attend college where he
would have played football for his school, and once his college career came to an end, he would
either be put onto a team, or start a different career. If an African Americancame from an upper
class family, which was totally possible, and had a passion for football, he would attend college
and play college football until the time of his graduation where we a pro team could pick him up.

Many African Americans did not even have the chance to get a proper high schooleducation either!
African Americans who were too poor to pay for a college education, never got the chance to
play professional football. However, no African Americans played in the NFL from 1934 to
1945 whether they attended college or not. A man by the name of George Preston Marshall is to
blame for that. Marshall was the founder of the Boston Redskins, and was the one who proposed
NFL for separate divisions and a championship game. Marshall also persuaded NFL owners that
by not signing black players, just like what was happening in the MLB, would make the public see
football as a major league sport. Every NFL owner at the time thought Marshall s statement was
correct and continued thinking that way for an additional eleven years! The Redskins however
continued to do so up until 1969 which made them the very last NFL team to sign an African

Abstract Of Artificial Intelligence
Abstract Artificial Intelligence otherwise known as AI, it is the development and the theory of
some computer systems which are able to undertake certain tasks which will normally need the
intelligence of humans. The tasks that are normally in need of the human intelligence are the likes
of translation of languages, making decisions recognition of speech among others. Good examples
of these technologies that fall under the AI are; augmented reality, Virtual Assistants, and robots.
On the other hand, employee productivity can also be called workforce productivity. Productivity
is evaluated in terms of the output of employees within a given time. A Lot of US multinational
have embraced the use of this technology as it has been touted as leading to some financial
benefits(Bobrow,2005). My research is limited to American multinational corporations like Amazon
and Google. American Multinational Corporations using AI Technology Many of tech companies
and organization are putting into use the AI technologies that are made up of the robots,
augmented reality and even the virtual assistants. Recently there was a report that was undertaken
by Accenture in 12 nations and it showed that AI that is able to sense the environment has the
ability to know what is happening to lead to the taking of an action. All these would, later on,
lead to the rise in the levels of productivity to sales of 40% in the year 2035.The report goes on to
show that once AI is well utilized, there will

Fall Of Atari
From 1972 to 1983, the video game giant Atari rose and fell. It fell due to a combination of
factors, including bad tradeoffs, a surplus issue, and a deficiency in entrepreneurial ability. The
Founder Nolan Bushnell sold Atari to the wrong company, administrators tended to overestimate
their game and console demand, and finally Atari lost its founder and best programmers. With all
these factors, Atari closed it s door for the final time in 1983. When Atari was created, it started off
with success in merely arcade games, but the founder wanted more. The founder, Nolan Bushnell,
along with his programmer Al Alcorn, created the hit Ponghis Atari arcade games on June 28th,
1972. With this hit, Bushnell became ambitious, and wanted to create... Show more content on

The company came out with two games that stood out as complete failures: Pac Man and E.T. Pac
Man, a popular arcade game, was to be released in 1982 for their VCS console. It was highly
anticipated, but the game did impress consumers the way they thought they would be. Atari
made 12 million cartridges, but only 7 million were bought. The game that truly buried Atari
was the E.T. game. They hired Steven Spielberg to create it in six weeks, when it normally took
six months to make a game, so that the game would be on the shelves for Christmas. The game
was horrific, most of the copies were returned by both retailers and consumers. about 2.5 to 3.5
million games were left unsold, and furthermore, 3.5 to 4.5 million games were returned. All of
the copies were dumped in a New Mexico landfill never to be played again. When Atari finally
decided to make a new console, it was too late, the console was nothing compared to the
competitor s. With the surplus of games and consoles, Atari had lost $536 million. Finally, by
1983, Atari went bankrupt. In a landfill in New Mexico, Atari s final game still hides below a
mountain of dirt. Millions of E.T. cartridges were buried, along with the company. Due to poor
decision making in the company, overproduction, and lack of programming ability, Atari fell to its

Outsiders And Outcasts In Society
Just how unnatural or strange are humans? You think of the outcasts in society and wonder just
why are they considered outsiders. Are they really outcast or are they simply just misunderstood
human beings. Some of our most brilliant people in the world were outcasts and strange, but overall
they were seen as downright weird. Why do humans have to name these people we do not
understand? Sometimes individually think of outsiders as people with mental disorders ,but many
people with these disorders are geniuses such as Lewis Carroll. Outsiders remain simple
misunderstood people because most of them are geniuses. Outsiders remain misunderstood
geniuses. There are many people who have contributed significantly to the intellectual world. For
example Ben Franklin, he said to have favored air baths (130). Franklyn would sit in a room that
was cold and wear nothing which persists as very strange and peculiar in the normal, natural world.
Franklin is considered an outsider, but he is one of the greatest minds of English thinking for his
correlation between lighting and the fact that it conducts electricity. Franklin invented the lightning
rod, which is an instrumental device that would prevent fires thanks to Franklin s connection
between steel and attraction to lightning. Moreover, Franklin had made some of the utmost
important discoveries of the time, even though Franklin was an outcast. Franklin created his own
alphabet dispensing with the letters c,j,q,w,x, and y,and adding

Laws are put into place to regulate the behavior of people to benefit society. According to
Pozgar, laws are designed to prevent harm to others while protecting the rights of individuals
(Pozgar 2010 Pg 175). Without laws the world would be a dangerous place to live. There are
four laws that most affect the provider and receiver of care. They are tort law, criminal law,
contract law , and trial procedures. The most important one to me that would impact the health
care field the most would be tort law. This is the law that is a civil wrong. It does not consist of a

There are decisions that are based on the values of others concerned in the health care of loved
ones. For instance if a patient is living on life support devices it may be up to the family to
decide to take he or she off of the life support system. It is the doctors obligation to adhere by their
wishes, but also to be sure that there is nothing else possible to do in order to save the person s life.
Many professional groups such as physicians and attorneys hold themselves accountable through a
set of ethical guidelines, but public health professionals have no code of ethics.
Perhaps the explanation is that no single public health profession exists, but rather a variety of
different disciplines. Indeed, some public health disciplines have their own ethical codes e.g.,
epidemiologists and public health educators. Nevertheless, a code of ethics, or at least a well
articulated values statement, could increase the status of the field and help clarify the distinctive
ethical dilemmas faced by public health professionals. Public health professionals work in a field of
considerable moral ambiguity where guidance could be instructive. ( www.publichealthlaw.net

We all have a busy life where unfortunately we all don t get to focus our entire dedication to one

Focusing our effort and energy on different things at the same time involves us not putting our full

During the city commission meeting votes were taken. The voting would occur verbally. All

The Court Of A Public Telephone Booth
On the date of February 4th, 1965, believing that the Petitioner had been using public pay phones
to transmit illegal gambling wagers from Los Angeles to Miami and Boston, the Federal Bureau
of Investigation began their surveillance into the life of the Petitioner, Charles Katz. Fifteen days
later on February 19th, 1965 FBI agents working the case against the Petitioner had gained access
to a phone booth within a set of phone booths that the petitioner frequented on Sunset Boulevard in
Los Angeles, and summarily recorded the petitioner s side of conversations he was having on the
phone within a booth nearby. This surveillance lasted until the 25th (excluding February 22, as no
evidence was obtained due to technical difficulties) the date of the petitioner s arrest, which took
place immediately after he exited the same set of phone booths (Brief for Respondent 3). In this
case there are two major constitutional questions which need to be addressed: (1) whether evidence
obtained by attaching an electronic listening and recording device to the top of a public telephone
boothused and occupied by the Petitioner is gathered in violation of the Fourth Amendment, and (2)
whether the search warrant used by the FBI officers in this case violated the Fourth Amendment to
the constitution in that the warrant was (a) not founded on probable cause; (b) an evidentiary
search warrant and (c) a general search warrant. While the Petitioner would like the answer to be
yes in both cases,

Contributions Of The Founding Fathers
All of the founding fathers of the United States were great because they acted on their values and
beliefs, helping to sow the seeds of a new nation. The work of the founding fathers became
instrumental for independence from the British Crown. Being willing to stand up to Britain was no
small feat, making the deeds of the founding fathers even more admirable. The founding fathers will
be celebrated throughout history for their contribution not just to America but to the world.
Although many men and women can be considered instrumental to founding the nation, there are
seven key players that most historians identify as being the founding fathers. Those seven include
George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, James
Monroe, and Ben Franklin. All seven of the founding fathers and their contributions are important.
Therefore, it can be helpful to compare and contrast three of them such as Washington, Hamilton,
and Franklin to better appreciate the ways their diverse talents, skills, and philosophies helped to
create a nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all people are created equal.
Not all the founding fathers became presidents, but all were leaders in their own ways by
capitalizing on their strengths and areas of specialization. Two of the founding fathers that were not
presidents but who were nevertheless instrumental to creating the United States were Benjamin
Franklin and Alexander Hamilton. Benjamin

Basketball Identity
What is an identity, an interest or a talent that defines me in an essential way? As a little kid who
s only thought was to have fun, all I cared about at first was playing video games and watching
cartoons, but that wasn t my interest as it became boring to me. Needing something new in my

said sure, so they turned on the TV and put on a documentary. At first, I was disinterested and
wanted to go back to my usual habits, but I stayed and watched, I realized that the documentary
contained the answer to my question and that answer was basketball as it became an identity
that defined me in an essential way because it changed how I felt, how I thought, and how I

where it wasn t just an interest, but a window of discovering who I am, what I love, and what I

The most infamous vampire in history emerged from the streets of Ireland in 1897. The

The s Portrayal Of The Vampire
Vampirisms Portrayal
Many years ago in Wallachia, Romania, there was a price by the name of Vlad III Tepes. This
man was seen by many people of Romania as well as other parts of Europe, as a hero for his
protection of the north and south Romanians in which he was later recognized and honored in his
leadership. At first, he had many followers, but then they started to fade due to his practices of
impaling his enemies, he was labeled The Impeller. His reputation started to grow in a negative
way because of the excessive cruelty. This excessiveness of cruelty against his enemies cause a lot
of blood shedding in which this started the beginning of the vampire myth.
Throughout time, we can see that the myth of vampires has not only stayed in Romania. We see
it in literature dating back to the very beginning or discovery of this creature through the cruelty
of Prince Vlad III. However, the portrayal of the vampire did not stay the same as time went by.
The portrayal of vampirism has come long ways and changed as society did. The specific roles and
details of the vampires are crafted in relation to what society wants. However, the symbolic meaning
behind the vampire stays the same even if their role has changed; they represent what we both fear
and desire as humans: beauty, strength, and immortality. I will be analyzing the different
representations and treatments of vampirism in three different books, Dracula by Bram Stoker,
Madness of Angels by Kate Griffin, and Fledgling

Organizational Structure And Its Impact On Organizational...
Wilfredo Hernandez
Prof. Coomber
SG 91
Over the past few years many changes have been made by organizations, in the way that they do
business. One of these changes has been going from rigid and centralized organizations, to now
taking advantage of flexible and decentralized structures. An organizational structureoutlines the
way the job tasks are formally divided, grouped, and coordinated. The effect a decentralized
structure has on managers and employees is that, the gap between who can make the decision has
been spread. With a decentralized structure the process of decision making comes down to the
manager that is closest to the action. The impact on organizational strategies has been that
organizations have to adapt to the new structures to fit in to be able to compete more efficiently and
effectively.
Firstly, one of the common organizational designs we see today is the simple structure. The
simple structure design has a low degree of departmentalization, wide spans of control, centralized
in a single person, and little formalization. Examples of organizations that use the simple structural
model are small retail stores, and electronic firms run by a hard driving entrepreneur. Small
businesses usually use the simple structure, these are businesses that usually have only two or
three vertical levels, a loose body of employees, and the decision making process is centralized.
The advantage of using the simple structure lies in its simplicity, of being fast, flexible

Legalization of Same-Sex Marriages
In our time the traditional viewpoint that we have previously exerted in relationship to the
definition of a family is being challenged more than ever before. Regardless of whether or not
that is through grandparents raising children, foster children and adopted children being raised in
families, single parenting, interracial couples, etc. One of the most talked about issues of our
time is the legality of same sex union/marriages. The standpoint that many take on this issue is
one rooted very deeply in traditions and personal beliefs. There is a constant conflict of opinions.
However, research consistently that relationships between families are tied together based off of
the quality of the relationship and child outcomes compared to the sexual orientation of the
parents. In every individual, there are desires that are present to someday include a child into your
life. Whether that be at a young or old age, you are given the right to bear children into their world
whenever you so wish as long as your circumstances are right. For those that identify as being gay
/lesbian they do not have that choice. However even those who are involved in same sex
relationships ultimately have the desire to have children. Whether it be through adoption, artificial
insemination, surrogate moms, or fostering children they can become parents. For some
individuals, they have children from previous heterosexual relationships as they felt the need to

This account, so far, squares with an account by Staff Sergeant Norman Hollen, also of Company
B. Not mentioned in Hollen s account was Murphy s killing of two Germans who he stumbled
across before finding the light machine gun, a fact which both Smith s and Graham s accounts
mention .
The accounts do seem to differ in that Murphy describes machine gun fire being responsible for
Tipton s death while Hollen suggests it was a sniper . Graham supports Murphy s assertion of
machine gun fire being the cause of Tipton s death, as he places the blame not on a sniper in the
house, but on the machine gun nest which Murphy storms . Meanwhile, David Smith, writer of
The Price of Valor, sides with Hollen, claiming a single sniper shot was responsible for Tipton s
death. Two schools of thought appeared in the literature about what occurred and there seems no
way of reconciling them. However, Smith claims that Murphy said that it was a sniper, not a
machine gun, contradicting the narrative of To Hell and Back.
Murphy s and Graham s accounts seem to show that he did not use his carbine, while Hollen and
Smith both claim that Murphy killed the two Germans who had approached with the flag of
surrender with his carbine. Murphy, Smith, and Graham all agree that Murphy carried a German
machine gun which he had captured like a BAR and fired it from the hip as he proceeded up the
hill. This detail wasn t mentioned by Hollen, who

Organized Crime And Criminal Behavior
[Prior to taking this course I had a perspective of organized crime groups that did not view them in
any other context other than a criminal enterprise for ethnic groups. However, after several weeks
of reading and research there is much more to the organizations. There are many groups that make
up our society, and are considered social institutions. Organized crimegroups are just one more of
those social institutions. In this paper we will review the term social institution as it applies to
organized crime, and reveal the theories and models which help explain organized crime and
criminal behavior. [The term social institution has many definitions, one definition is Social
Institutions are established sets of norms and subsystems that support each society s survival
(Devore, 2016). In general, a social institution is a group of people that share similar ideas,
characteristics, and behaviors they organize to achieve a desired result. There are mainly five
types of social institutions, they are; political, educational, economic, religious, economic, and
family (Ashbaugh, 2016). These groups can be represented by a formal group, such as,
Democratic Party which share rules, ideals, and goals for a political system. Additionally, the
groups could be a church group with similar beliefs, morals, and spiritual ideals. It would appear
after review of these groups that they have in common a positive outcome for society, in contrast,
organized crime seems to violate the nature

Specialized Courts Case Study
9.What are specialized courts? What role might they play in the future of court processing moving
forward? According to Quinn, what are some of the pros and cons of specialized courts? Specialty
Courts are problem solving court sessions which provide court supervised probation and mandated
treatment focused on treating the mental health or substance abuse issues underlying criminal
behavior. Problem solving courts focus on social concerns like addiction, domestic violence, mental
health issues, and prostitution. Specialty courts claim to cure addiction, address intimate violence,
prevent recidivism, reduce costs, and save lives.Specialty courts will play a major role in the future

Bogira paints a portrait of some of the more personal and nuanced day to day activities that go
into courtroom behavior and decision making. Describe some of the often overlooked aspects of
day to day court operations (i.e., judges background, public pressures, defense attorney and
prosecutorial ambitions, etc.) and how they may affect court outcomes for defendants. Bogira
paints a portrait of the real side of the law and after reading Courtroom 302 I m applauded at the
things I ve read. Bogira s showed a different side to prosecutors, detectives, and judges detailing
the little to no interest they had in righting the wrongs caused by the court. Regardless of the
eventual outcome of cases, the prosecutors and Locallo seemed disinterested when it was
suggested that defendants were treated unfairly or received unjust sentences. We overlook how
the defendants ask for the lawyer and family before heading to the courtroom how , prosecutors,
judges, and even police officers seem more likely to consider defendants in a negatively. Bogira
stated that the offender wouldn t be on trail if the did nothing wrong. Which isent true each day
we hear about a person being wrongly commited and spend over 20 years in jail. adopting these

prosecutorial ambitions blind an attorney from doing their job ethically, overlook the possibility of
injustice when it goes against the court s goals of convicting

The Loudest Voice Paley Summary
The Loudest Voice is a short story about the struggles of a girl who faces the battle of an overly
controlling parent. The author, Grace Paley, argues that Shirley should be in control of her own
life. Shirley is invited to narrate a Christmas themed play. This goes against her mom s religious
beliefs, which leads to arguments between Shirley s parents because her father disagrees. Her
father argues that Shirley should have freedom of choice in her actions, while her mother argues
that Shirley does not know what s right yet. In the end, Shirley acts in the play. Ms. Paley shows
that Shirley has freedom of choice, but it comes at a cost. The central theme of the story is
Shirley has to decide whether she chooses change vs. tradition. Shirley s mom is conflicted by the
thought of having her Jewish daughter be anywhere near the school s Christian play. She is a
Jewish immigrant who has worked so hard to get where she is today. Shirley was chosen because
she had the loudest voice, but Shirley s mom does not want her to participate because it will
influence her into a Christian mindset. She doesn t want her Jewish daughter to forget her Jewish
heritage and traditions.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Be quiet!....but steals from the happy chorus of my inside self, not a title or a jot. Later in the
story, she is opening up in school which symbolizes her way of finding her voice. She feels
happy that she is in control for once, even the teacher acknowledges her sense of control. Shirley
has her issues, her friends are strangers in New York, Shirley can t speak English well like the rest
of the Jewish children she even has to narrate carefully during the play. But in the end the reader

Gerber s Servant Leadership
Although Gerber (2007) provided several leadership themes throughout the book such as
Servant Leadership by Greenleaf (1977), The Leadership Challenge by Kouzes and Posner
(1995), and Motivation and Personality by Maslow (1954) she could have provided an even
stronger argument by referring to Goleman s (1995) book on Emotional Intelligence. Early on in
ER s marriage to FDR she was faced with the realization that her social secretary, a young
beautiful woman of twenty one was having an affair with her husband. FDR then in the role of
assistant secretary of the Navy (p.67) was neither discreet nor restrained about romancing his
mistress in public (Gerber, 2007). ER could have easily reacted to this situation with anger,
frustration, and contempt, instead she focused on her own growth (p. 71). Goleman termed this
type of inner healing as optimism or hope which has healing power (p.177).... Show more content

Instead of measuring ones IQ (conventional intelligence) Goleman s theory required
administrators to look at the leader s EQ (emotional intelligence) which measures behavioral and
character elements of intelligence. ER believed that by turning her sorrow into strength and

Like Eleanor, you should work toward self mastery the ability to take control on your own terms
for the purpose of healing and helping yourself (p. 72). In Dubrin s 2010 book on leadership he
believed that when star performers were compared with average ones in senior leadership positions,
differences in emotional intelligence were more pronounced than differences in cognitive abilities

Violence And Violence Among Children
Introduction While the rate of crime in the United States has decreased overall an increase in
senseless violence being committed by young people leaves individuals trying to understand what
is to blame. It is encouraging that the rate of crimes of violence in the United States has dropped
about 15 percent since 1999. However, self reported violent offending by American youth has not
declined. (Funk et al. 1) Work place violence, road rage disputes and mass school shootings are
just a few examples of violence that has become common place in society. Adolescent
perpetrating violent crimes has been on the rise as is evident with the number of shootings and
physical altercations in recent years. Many have tried to identify what is causing this increase in
violence among children. The growing problem of violence and aggressive behavior in society is
speculated to be credited in part to the rise of violent video games.
Background
Over the past few decades the average person s daily routine has changed drastically through the
rapid development and advancements in technology. Most people living today can remember a time
when not every person had a cell phone and smartphones sounded more like science fiction than a
reality. As technology has made advancements the world of entertainment and the way people
spend their free time has changed. One sector that has seen drastic improvements is that of the

Stono Rebellion Essay
The Stono Rebellion was at the time the biggest slave rebellion to ever take place in the
American colonies. It came at a time when owning slaves was one of the accepted things in the
colonies and the colonists depended on the labor the slaves were doing. Some colonies entire
economies depended on it. In South Carolina, there were more slaves than free men in the colony.
This was because of the African slave trade. It was the constant trade to get slaves which made the
colonists depend on slave labor. Slave labor was so profitable, most slave owners treated their
slaves as property. Beatings, starvation, and overworking were common practices on the
plantations. The slave owners didn t care because they were making money from the... Show more

Twenty whites and forty four slaves were killed in the fight at Edisto River. The group of slaves
retreated but the militia were able to get other local militia s to join in the fight with them. In
addition, remaining local slave owners warned and threatened their own slaves that if they even
considered joining the rebellion, they would be punished. The militia and the slave group fought
for over a week. The conflict finally ended with the surrendering of the slave group. After the
slaves surrendered, the remaining members of the slaves that rebelled were hung for their
crimes. These slaves were made an example to all other slaves, making them not even want to
attempt to rebel in the future. This rebellion led to much harsher slave codes that were enforced
in the colony. It also restricted the slaves so much that it meant that they could not go anywhere
without their owners permission at any time. The Negro Act of 1740 was passed which prohibited
enslaved people from growing their own food, assembling in groups, earning money they, rather
than their owners, could retain or learning to read. (The Black Past.org) The legacy that the Stono
Rebellion had and still does have to this day is that it ended up setting back the relations of blacks
and whites in the state for years. This conflict ended up reigniting tensions between the races that up
to that point were not all that high. The rebellion also made slavery last longer in the

Diclofenac Research Paper
Among the anti inflammatory drugs, diclofenac sodium is a potent and widely used non steroidal
anti inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic compound in the world. Diclofenac belongs to the
acetic acid class of non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAIDs) that includes indomethacin, etodolac,
ketorolac, nabumetone, tolmetin, and sulindac. Like other NSAIDs, diclofenac acts by inhibiting
cellular cyclooxygenases (Cox 1 and Cox 2), which results in a decrease in production of pro
inflammatory prostaglandin, prostacyclin, and thromboxane. Diclofenac has analgesic as well as
antipyretic and anti inflammatory activities. Diclofenac sodium is mainly indicated in the treatment

Experiments showed that the main route of drug elimination is different in various species, renal
excretion being the most important in man and rhesus monkey and biliary excretion the most
important in rat and dog. The lack of enterohepatic recycling in man probably accounts for the
reduced gastrointestinal toxicity of this drug (Menasse et al., 1978). Earlier workers documented
enhanced rates of leucopoiesis and depressed erythropoiesis in bone marrow on aspirin treatment

osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscular ache by suppressing pain and inflammation.
NSAIDs have been reported to diminish bone formation, healing, and remodeling (Nair et al.,

Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles
Mel Brooks satirical western comedy Blazing Saddles is the movie that changes a genre, by
heavily making fun of it. From the start there is that initial good guy and bad guy mentality, with
the hero ultimately saving the day. A wealthy white man wants to grab a spot of land to build his
railroad through, however there is a town in the way. He sets forth to taking the town until two
unlikely heroes come to the rescue and wittingly save the day. Ultimately throughout the plot there
are hilarious commentaries on things that just don t make sense. The black slaves are always
happy and cracking jokes, and their masters are always portrayed as uncivilized uneducated
children. Additionally, the sheriff and hero of the story, Bart, is black himself.... Show more content

The movie starts with a very serious and solemn Western song, typical of the era. Almost
immediately following is the nigger work song, which starkly contrasts and sets the tone for the
movie. Ultimately, even after the movie reaches its resolution and we learn that it is on a
Hollywood set, the score still remains Western aside from the movie premier sound effects.
Another thing that didn t necessarily make sense was the cowboy saving the day. Typically, as
we have seen through Buffalo Bill namely, the cowboy swoops in, shoots the bad guy, gets the
girl, and uses his strength to ride off on his trusty stallion. Here Bart concocts a rather intelligent
plan, rallies the townsfolk to execute the plan together, and doesn t really get the girl. (Truly he
got the girl a few minutes earlier in the movie but that is an entirely different can of worms). The
movie as a whole, understandably, just doesn t fit in with my idea of the Wild West. As a
comedy, and a hilarious one at that, it just doesn t keep any sense of realism. As Seth Macfarlane
notes in his movie A Million Ways to Die in the West, the West is a treacherous place with murder
and disease and

Literary Analysis Of Godwin s A Sorrowful Woman
Can we eat turkey for supper? the boy asked. In one line Godwin presents a reader with enough
levels of complexity to easily fill an entire essay; why is one of the most prominent characters
(and the son of the main character referred to as the boy ? Does his focus on the tuckey
emphasize his love of the idea and duties of a mother, as opposed to the actual person? Yet all of
these quarries pale in comparison to an analysis of the text preceding this small quote. The end
of Godwin s A Sorrowful Woman demonstrates the power of rhetoric, contrast, and detached
narration in creating the text s message that the archetypal role of mother and wife is so
constricting and limiting to cause the mother to end her life. Word choice proves one of the
more fascinating aspects of Godwin s text, specifically her use of repetition emphasize relevant
details that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. The most prominent example of this comes in
the two hand knitted sweaters (both of the same gray color) As a stand alone quote, no one word
stands out. Yet in the beginning of the text the child s gray eyes are referenced, in conjunction
with The shirt was the gray of the child s trusting gaze. The continuation of the gray motif of the
text highlights a few key details. First, gray is used with some frequency in literature to act as a
symbol for depression, and even beyond the realm of literature Professors from the University of
Manchester have recently developed a color chart

The Pros And Cons Of Hitachi
I. Introduction
In this decade, design thinking has been captured attention from innovation scholars. Design
thinking, originated from basic practices of designers, is a series of activities and attitudes toward
bringing innovation [3][26]. This idea does not claim a necessity of being a designer, but designers
may have a high potential to be an innovator in a various occasion.
In fact, recent management studies discovered that industrial designers contribute to innovative
scientific research in the natural science field [5][29]. These studies clearly illustrate how industrial
designers tactfully set a demand pull goal and facilitate consensus building among research project
members.
They are also likely to achieve technological innovation in the industry sector. Reference [27] found
their superiority in setting a consumer oriented goal. Indeed, a versatile entrepreneur and industrial

Georgian politicians were targets of the attack. This is one more coincidence with Estonian case,

Methods used by Russian hackers indicate that they have developed detailed plan of campaign

Supposedly Russian cyber attack was conducted by hackers it is even possible that they were civil

there are not enough proves for this coordination.
However there exist a lot of details that lead us again to Russia , for example there is an

Money For Complete A College Degree
In some very minute cases I would disagree that it is a good idea to borrow money to complete a
college degree. However, in a most case scenario I think it is a wonderful idea that will help
students in the long run, given they choose a smart career that is financially promising. If a
student goes into the correct field and gets into a job that pays well then they will, most likely,
have no problem paying back any student loans they may owe. Mark Kantrowitz estimated that
about 71% of people graduating with a bachelor s degree would have a student loan. He said It s
unfortunate that college costs are going up and the student aid, the grants, are not going up at
the same rate on a per student basis. College is becoming less and less affordable, though it s still
just as necessary. The problem there is that if student aide and grants aren t covering the full cost
of a student s education, the student is more inclined to get another loan elsewhere. (Sparshott)
Thankfully statistics show that the unemployment rate is considerably lower for people who
have graduated from college. After you have a college degree you are more likely to make a
higher wage than the person who doesn t, what is more, you will probably get hired faster. College
degrees not only help that graduate out but it also helps out in the long run if they have a family
that depends on them. College opens up better career opportunities that have enhanced job security
and happiness. (Education Corner) In fact

  • 2. Luhrmann The Great Gatsby It s the newness that Luhrmann seems to bring to his movies, most notably Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet, that grabs the attention most immediately. In calibrating our expectations for Gatsby, it s interesting to look at the last classic work he adapted, the 1996 Leo DiCaprio/Claire Danes feature based on the Shakespearean play. A lot of adaptations of Shakespeare s work try to do what Luhrmann does, reimagining the story in a contemporary setting, and they re met with varying degrees of success. Even stranger is Luhrmann s word for word retention of the Shakespearean dialogue, resulting in a bizarre juxtaposition of old language and new technology and surroundings. This is also kind of the perfect story for Luhrmann s attitude. There s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Austranese And Japanese Cultural Differences This essay aims to provide more information in regards to the differences between the Australian and Japanese cultures, as well as fundamental insights into Japanese business etiquette and highlight important steps for effective communication when making business in a foreign country. As the Australian entrepreneur and owner of The Aromatic Condiment Shop Emily is looking to expand her business deals in Japan it is paramount to make a favourable first impression and understand key points to better navigate cultural differences and grow her business. Cultural differences according to Adler involves the integrated and maintained system of socially acquired values, beliefs, and rules of conduct which impact the range of accepted behaviors distinguishable from one societal group to another . (Adler, N. J. (1997). International dimensions of organizational behavior (3rd ed.). Cincinnati, OH: Shout Western College Publishing) Cross cultural communication involves an understanding of how people from different cultures speak, communicate, and perceive the world around them. This type of communication has become fundamental to companies as well as entrepreneurs looking to grow their business, in addition to being fundamental as the workplace has become more diverse. • 4. The Life And Work Of Martin Luther Martin Luther experienced true faith and a true mystical experience for the first time when he got stuck in a thunderstorm. Fearing for his life he begged St. Anne that if she took care of him he would become a monk. Luther s journey began towards the life of God. The path he took, led him through moments of realization and confusion. Martin Luther questioned the church and re evaluated baptism; yet, he re enforced the importance of the Eucharist, kept his faith in God and believed every child of Christ had the right to know the Lord s word. Sacraments are about becoming closer to God, to commit to a life of God and to reach God s grace. According to Rev. David D.Reedy author of The Life and Work of Martin Luther Martin began a revolution as he taught and wrote about his dissatisfactions with the church. He began to change the way people understood and the sacraments because he began to go back to the roots of each sacrament. When I began my path towards God through my own choice and not just part of what I was nurtured through, I began to realize a few things I didn t agree with. Martin Luther began to ask questions to learn and explore, but he was encountered with an unexpected twist. When making his way to become a minister David Reedy explains, He came away more disillusioned, and very discouraged by the immorality and corruption he witnessed there among the Catholic priests. His main ideal was that we must dig back into the real power of faith. Luther believes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He lived in a city called Reggioi Emmilia in Italy, which is recognized worldwide for its approach to education. After years past he then developed preschool and primary education in Italy after World War2. In 1976, the parents and the community confirmed their support for the guiding principles of the Reggio Approach to early childhood education. After his unexpected death, the community of Reggio Emilia carried on, implemented his dreams, and fulfilled the Reggio mission, which enhanced the potential of all children. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the late 1960 s the schools were transferred to the city government for financing and operations. During the 1980 s Lori s method was known by many educators and especially thanks to the first exhibit that was opened in Sweden at the Modern Museet in Stockholm. In 2003 the municipality of Reggio Emilia chose to manage the network and the system of school services and toddler centers by forming an association. By forming an association, the municipal schools and preschools could have their own independent programs and activities, they were still supported by the public sector of the government though. February 2006, the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre had opened, which was very successful and very important to the people that helped open the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre. I believe that Malaguzzi has a different and unique way to think because of the fact that he thought that children were powerful and full of desire and ability to construct their own knowledge. I also think that way because if we weren t powerful and able to construct our own knowledge then how would we have progressed through life and be where we are now. For example Malaguzzi must have been real powerful in order for him to have had that knowledge and ability to open a new international Centre and schools throughout the world! • 8. Demetrius And Helena In A Midsummer Night s Dream By... In A Midsummer Night s Dream, William Shakespeare heavily expresses the distinct characteristics of Demetrius and Helena through the direct and indirect characterizations that affect them in the play. Demetrius character is best emphasized, directly and indirectly, through the dialogue and actions of himself and those around him. In Act One, Scene One, after Egeus explains to King Theseus that he wants his daughter, Hermia, to marry Demetrius instead of Lysander, Demetrius demands that Lysander relinquish his love and control over Hermia because marrying her is his certain right . After the demand, King Theseus is reminded that Demetrius made love to...Helena and won her soul and that Helena still devoutly dotes over him. In this scene, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Helena is first introduced storming past Hermia and Lysander, being quick to accuse Hermia of stealing Demetrius love from her. Helena s lengthy response, use of exclamations, sarcastic and whiney tone, and admitted jealousy, portray her perfectly. In fact, the audience better comes to understand the character in her following monologue containing phrases such as: ...how happy some o er other some can be! Through Athens I am thought to be as fair as she ; ...he hailed down oaths that he was only mine... heat from Hermia...dissolved, and showers of oaths did melt ; I will go tell him of fair Hermia s flight...if I have thanks, it is a dear expense. This shows that Helena isn t just a jealous friend, but a hurt girl with low self esteem; she is desperate to have love and happiness again to extent of giving Demetrius what he wants at the expense of her friends wellbeing. Despite the late hours, dangers of the night, and Demetrius annoyance with her, Hermia expresses her desperation and relentless love for him by proclaiming ...you [Demetrius] draw me, you hard hearted adamant , I love you the more , and ... spurn me, strike me...only give me leave... to follow you . Humorously enough, even when Demetrius does not grant Helena permission, she still devotedly follows him. Due to the constant flow of insults and abuses from Demetrius, Helena s character is pushed to the point where she wallows in self pity and despair as well as further compare her darker, less attractive complexion to Hermia s. When Lysander awakens under a love spell and professes his undying love for her, she runs away in distress believing he is implementing a cruel joke on her. When Demetrius follows in the same love struck manner, she becomes exasperated and falls further into her self pity. Helena s tone even become satirical towards the two men and Hermia which not only offends ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story is of a beautiful maiden named Buttercup. When she hears word of her true love, Westley s, ship being taken over by the Dread Pirate Roberts in which there were no survivors. Upon Westley s death, Buttercup reluctantly agrees to marry Prince Humperdinck, who seems to have a plan of his own. In this writing assignment, I will be describing five strategies that are a part of the cognate strategies way of thinking. I will be using personal examples for each of these to help give a clearexplanation of the information The first of these is the also the first showcased in the book, Clarity. Analysis of The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant Essay Kawika Prietto English 102 Professor Cooley November 3, 2009 Analysis of The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant, by W. D. Wetherell, is an initiation story in which the symbols of fishing and Sheila Mant illustrate how the character of the narrator transforms from youth and innocence to sophistication and maturity. At age fourteen, it is typical for a boy such as the narrator to be beginning this transformation. Being innocent and naГЇve in a sense, the fourteen year old narrator gets an enormous crush on a seventeen year old girl named Sheila Mant and comes to believe she is what he loves most in life. When he pull[s] a penknife . . . and cut[s] the line, (7) he makes a conscious decision that Sheila Mant is to be more important than his fishing. When the night is over, and Sheila goes off in a different guy s Corvette, the narrator comes to the realization that she was not worth giving up the fish. Later in life, after being with other girls and catching other fish, what haunts [him] still is losing the bass, not Sheila Mant. Ultimately, the narrator s maturity came from finding out what he actually loved the most and sticking to that. The symbols of the story, mainly the fishing rod, the bass, and Sheila Mant, are symbols of the transformation the narrator undergoes. To begin with, when the narrator automatically . . . mount[s] [his] Mitchell reel . . . and [sticks] it in the stern (2) he shows that he is unable to consciously separate his love of fishing from his love of other things. By bringing his rod on a date with Sheila, his maturity is shown as being undeveloped due to his inexperience. Furthermore, the bass ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vampire legends themselves have stretched back for centuries, but it was this one novel that paved the road for others to follow. When thinking of Dracula, it can be easy to think of the blood sucking creature who travels from Transylvania. • 38. The s Portrayal Of The Vampire Vampirisms Portrayal Many years ago in Wallachia, Romania, there was a price by the name of Vlad III Tepes. This man was seen by many people of Romania as well as other parts of Europe, as a hero for his protection of the north and south Romanians in which he was later recognized and honored in his leadership. At first, he had many followers, but then they started to fade due to his practices of impaling his enemies, he was labeled The Impeller. His reputation started to grow in a negative way because of the excessive cruelty. This excessiveness of cruelty against his enemies cause a lot of blood shedding in which this started the beginning of the vampire myth. Throughout time, we can see that the myth of vampires has not only stayed in Romania. We see it in literature dating back to the very beginning or discovery of this creature through the cruelty of Prince Vlad III. However, the portrayal of the vampire did not stay the same as time went by. The portrayal of vampirism has come long ways and changed as society did. The specific roles and details of the vampires are crafted in relation to what society wants. However, the symbolic meaning behind the vampire stays the same even if their role has changed; they represent what we both fear and desire as humans: beauty, strength, and immortality. • 39. Organizational Structure And Its Impact On Organizational... Wilfredo Hernandez Prof. Coomber SG 91 Over the past few years many changes have been made by organizations, in the way that they do business. One of these changes has been going from rigid and centralized organizations, to now taking advantage of flexible and decentralized structures. An organizational structureoutlines the way the job tasks are formally divided, grouped, and coordinated. The effect a decentralized structure has on managers and employees is that, the gap between who can make the decision has been spread. With a decentralized structure the process of decision making comes down to the manager that is closest to the action. The impact on organizational strategies has been that organizations have to adapt to the new structures to fit in to be able to compete more efficiently and effectively. Firstly, one of the common organizational designs we see today is the simple structure. The simple structure design has a low degree of departmentalization, wide spans of control, centralized in a single person, and little formalization. Examples of organizations that use the simple structural model are small retail stores, and electronic firms run by a hard driving entrepreneur. Small businesses usually use the simple structure, these are businesses that usually have only two or three vertical levels, a loose body of employees, and the decision making process is centralized. The advantage of using the simple structure lies in its simplicity, of being fast, flexible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The accounts do seem to differ in that Murphy describes machine gun fire being responsible for Tipton s death while Hollen suggests it was a sniper . Graham supports Murphy s assertion of machine gun fire being the cause of Tipton s death, as he places the blame not on a sniper in the house, but on the machine gun nest which Murphy storms . Meanwhile, David Smith, writer of The Price of Valor, sides with Hollen, claiming a single sniper shot was responsible for Tipton s death. Two schools of thought appeared in the literature about what occurred and there seems no way of reconciling them. However, Smith claims that Murphy said that it was a sniper, not a machine gun, contradicting the narrative of To Hell and Back. Does his focus on the tuckey emphasize his love of the idea and duties of a mother, as opposed to the actual person? Yet all of these quarries pale in comparison to an analysis of the text preceding this small quote. The last one the Law of Armed Conflicts was applied to the Georgian case. This type of war was applied to Russia Georgian conflict because of the actual hostile situation between two states that was led to the escalation and use of armed forces and dispute. Russiaclaims that its only intention was to defend the lives and dignity of its citizens , in South Ossetia and Georgia.Russia describes its action as a peacekeeping operation, but from international perspective LOAC (Law of Armed Conflicts) is exactly applied to the case. However, in a most case scenario I think it is a wonderful idea that will help students in the long run, given they choose a smart career that is financially promising. If a student goes into the correct field and gets into a job that pays well then they will, most likely, have no problem paying back any student loans they may owe. Mark Kantrowitz estimated that about 71% of people graduating with a bachelor s degree would have a student loan. He said It s unfortunate that college costs are going up and the student aid, the grants, are not going up at the same rate on a per student basis. College is becoming less and less affordable, though it s still just as necessary. (Sparshott) Thankfully statistics show that the unemployment rate is considerably lower for people who have graduated from college. After you have a college degree you are more likely to make a higher wage than the person who doesn t, what is more, you will probably get hired faster. College degrees not only help that graduate out but it also helps out in the long run if they have a family that depends on them. College opens up better career opportunities that have enhanced job security and happiness. (Education Corner) In fact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
