Parents have been disciplining their children for decades using a wide range of techniques using both
negative and positive forms. Kennedy stated that effective discipline should be merely the process of
teaching a child right from wrong (Kennedy). Effective forms of discipline are viewed very differently
by different people. Parents have a choice when disciplining their child, they can either use positive
forms or negative forms of discipline. Grusec et al., stated that children need clear and consistent
rules, support, and acceptance rather than rejection , in order to grow up to value and respect authority
(465 471). So, if children benefit from positive discipline, what happens when a child is exposed to
negative discipline throughout their life. Negative discipline can be seen in a wide range of ways, such
as, physical punishment, punitive discipline, inconsistency, and lack of affection. I believe that
negative discipline that is used with children, leaves lasting negative physical, mental, and emotional

on February 26, 2012 for Trayvon Martin in Florida. Trayvon Martin was an innocent African

Abstract
The reason for conducting this lab is discover is changing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) concentration
will affect the rate of reaction. During the experiment, the H2O2 rate will be changed and pressure
will be measured using a gas pressure sensor. The data suggests that as the hydrogen peroxide
concentration increases, the rate of diffusion increases and that my hypothesis is valid.
Introduction
Hydrogen peroxide is a by product of biochemical metabolism. The accumulation of hydrogen
peroxide can be deadly, so it must be decomposed. One of the decomposing factors is an enzyme
called Catalase. Catalase breaks hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Since this is a
decomposition reaction, it is exothermic. Hydrogen peroxide can gradually degenerate itself, it
decomposes much faster with the help of Catalase which lowers the activation energy to the minimum
energy barrier that hydrogen peroxide molecules should overcome to decompose.

The goal for our students is to make meaning of what they are reading across the curriculum and in all
content areas. We want them to read text effectively and with ease using strategies that are student
centered. We need to teach our students to think while they are reading to strengthen their
comprehension skills (Farr Conner, 2017). We can do this by insuring students have a strong
background in basic skills (Pressley, 2017). These skills are decoding, vocabulary building, word
knowledge, and active comprehension strategies (Pressley, 2017). Monitoring their comprehension
will also allow for future growth (Pressley, 2017). Students cannot understand the words in a text if
they cannot read the words (Farr Conner, 2017). The first step to developing good reading
comprehension is through decoding. Decoding is a very vital part of reading comprehension, but it is
not enough on its own (Shanahan, 2017). When we teach our students to decode proficiently, we are
opening the doors for better understanding of the text and ultimately better comprehension. Through
decoding, the student will learn the sounds of the letters in the words and this will lead to recognizing

In the year 1792 B.C. Babylon introduced their sixth king of Babylon Empire, King Hammurabi who
assumed the throne from his father Sin Muballit. The rule of Hammurabi and his strict, often extreme
no tolerance policy had begun. Though his punishments of the accused and guilty occasionally seemed
appropriate, many felt Hammurabi s methods were inhumane although his intentions give the
impression that it was in good spirit. As the sun began to set behind the temple to Marduk the
induction ceremony of the new King of Babylon presented his power to rule by introducing the list of
laws that were set to be effective immediately. Here, Hammurabi proclaims that he wants to make
justice visible in the land, to destroy the wicked person and the evil doer, that the strong might not

orphans and others from being harmed or exploited by those seeking to take advantage of those who
