Baggage handling in Airports (sortation)cidroypaes
A baggage handling system (BHS) is a type of conveyor system installed in airports that transports checked luggage from ticket counters to areas where the bags can be loaded onto airplanes. A BHS also transports checked baggage coming from airplanes to baggage claims or to an area where the bag can be loaded onto another airplane.
Although the primary function of a BHS is the transportation of bags, a typical BHS will serve other functions involved in making sure that a bag gets to the correct location in the airport. The process of identifying a bag, and the information associated with it, to make a decision on where the bag should be directed within the system is known as sortation.

Even the most compliant shippers can get tripped up by regulations that consistently change. Items once considered inconsequential can now be classified as Dangerous Goods without you ever knowing. And even though you’re held accountable for implementing these changes, it can be difficult to remain compliant.

Lithium batteries are the hottest topic in hazmat transportation today and the Federal Aviation Administration is aggressively enforcing penalties against employers who incorrectly offer them for transport (up to $77,114 per violation). To make matters worse, the shipping regulations are notoriously convoluted and confusing, and since their inception, have been continually changing. This presentation provides an overview of the regulatory requirements and enforcement trends, including the April 1, 2016 ICAO/IATA revisions.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2. BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND
• An electronic cigarette, or e-cigarette, is a
smoking simulation and/or cessation
device that mimics smoking. It is
considered a Portable Electronic Device
(PED)(PED) as most electronic cigarettes are
powered by lithium batteries. Electronic,
simulated smoking materials include:
electronic cigarettes, electronic cigars and
electronic pipes.
M. Tayfour 2
5. • Several incidents have been
reported involving electronic
cigarettes overheating by way of
their heating element being
accidentally activated, resulting in
a fire in checked baggage.

11. • PUTRAJAYA: Malindo Air will discuss with the airport authorities to review their
security procedures and to develop strategies to prevent a recurrence of
electronic cigarette devices overheating on board aircraft.
• The airline in its statement today confirmed that an electronic cigarette
overheated on board flight OD 1003 while en-route from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala
Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) last Saturday.
• It said according to the crew’s report, the incident occurred during cruise at
35,000 feet, at 6.02pm mid-way between Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur.
• “When alerted to the incident, the cabin crew took immediate action to contain
the situation.
• “Within minutes, the situation was brought under control and the flight continued
its journey to a safe landing in klia2 at 7.27pm,” the statement said.
• It said the cabin crew and a doctor on board also rendered first aid to the
passenger who suffered superficial burns to his lower arm and upon landing
was brought to the klia2 medical centre for further treatment.
• The airline said the airport police were alerted of the incident before the flight’s
arrival and together with Malindo Air’s Aviation Security (AvSec) staff, they were
able to interview the passenger and an official police report was subsequently
filed by Malindo Air.
• Malindo Air also reminded its passengers not to carry spare batteries on board,
to not connect any portable electronic device to a power source in flight and not
to leave any portable electronic device

Where the electronic cigarettes are powered by
lithium batteries, the requirements of the IATA
Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR),
paragraphs 2.3.5.9 and 2.3.5.17 must be met.
This requires that spare lithium batteries and
the electronic cigarettes must be carried in
passenger carry-on baggage. In addition,
recharging of electronic cigarettes and/or
batteries on board the aircraft is not permitted.
