It summarizes a seminal 1995 study by Veillette and Decker that found pilots flying aircraft with early electronic flight displays (EFIS) showed some erosion of manual flying skills compared to pilots of conventional aircraft, especially during abnormal maneuvers or when the autopilot was disengaged.
